I adore all your art with cookie and was interested in Sapphicworld- but I’m curious (so plz don’t take this as a negative-) what exactly in your opinion sets it apart from other Queer PBTA hacks like Thirsty Sword Lesbians?

I’d just really like to hear your thoughts about it as a system and world especially given you are a indie developer yourself?

so, a few caveats before i start off — one, i actually haven't played many other pbta games (like for example i know Of thirsty sword lesbians + own a copy that i've poked around in but im not very familiar w it), so i honestly can't provide much in the way of comparing/contrasting it w other pbta stuff in the same vein, and my impressions of sapphicworld are pretty much just contained to the game as its own thing, not so much sapphicworld as a Type Of Game

and two, while i am a dev myself, i'm a huge novice! like, i'm proud of the stuff i put out and i love doing it, but i personally feel like my lack of experience is such that like, i don't think my opinions in this case are particularly informed by my own work as a dev or anything. all this to say im happy to answer this question, i think i just gotta tackle it from a different frame than what ur specifically asking!

BUT ANYWAY. i can still talk abt why im so excited abt sapphicworld in a way that has kind of outstripped other stuff in general, and for me it's about the world 100%. like i honestly spend close to no time thinking abt the fact that sw is even pbta to be honest. not that the mechanics + gameplay aren't important, bc they are thoughtfully crafted and well done and fun, and i'm saying that from the perspective of someone who playtested earlier versions that have now been reworked! it's just like, not what comes to mind first for me — what's exciting and fresh and irreplaceable abt the game in my mind is like. it is fully committed to immersing you in an extremely lush, strange, richly fleshed out world, one with a long history and folklore/mythology and a TON of really fun npcs who all have different subcultures and its own calendar with seasonal holidays and regional terrain with specific fleshed out dungeons/towns/etc to discover and even like, specific FOODS typical to each different region and and and and —

and maybe at first that seems kind of overwhelming, and tbh it is. when i first got into it and i was going thru the playtest document (which if im remembering right was like. ~300 pages shorter at the time than the current playtest doc) i DO remember anxiously thinking to myself "god this is a LOT and idk if i'll be able to retain enough of this to rp convincingly" etc etc. but like... it's just really compelling, and it does an incredible job of mixing humor and gravity and horniness in a perfect ratio that always comes across as intensely earnest and makes it equally easy to have a fun goofy time or a really emotional time, which i think is REALLY hard to do.

and while normally it's hard for me to get thru something that dense and long all i can really say is that i just straight up like it enough and was charmed by it enough to pick away at it until i grasped it and felt like i understood a bunch about the world, which also has a curve to it bc in structure and tone its very different from any of your... idk more Standard fantasy or sci fi worldbuilding, so it's not like u can immediately slot in ur expectations from other settings and just learn some new vocab words, it's a world that from my perspective also Functions differently than a lot of other fictional settings in a way that's a little hard to describe succinctly. (none of this is succinct to begin with but ykwim). it makes me want to gm my own campaign, really really bad, when usually i have always been absolutely Terrified of the idea of gming! idk man. it has a Flavor. it's full of Vapors. u get transported somewhere else reading it and playing it in a way i haven't experienced in a while and a lot of times after a playtest session i felt like my brain stayed behind in sapphicworld for a pretty long time.

i feel like i am sounding a little melodramatic and incoherent but like. genuinely sapphicworld is just a fictional world that i am really bone-deep charmed by and interested in and when i WAS reading thru the rulebook for those first days it did not take me long at all to find myself constantly thinking "i want to play in this world, i want to play in this world, i can't wait to play in this world," and i just think that's really special. and like — just as your curiosity abt comparing sw to tsl was not intended as a diss or a negative, what im abt to say is similarly neutral — im a person who sometimes finds it a little difficult to click with or feel excited abt a lot of the Queer Indie Stuff that i see get popular with other people, bc it just doesn't connect w my specific lesbian + trans experience; not that it feels inauthentic but that im like, oh, idk, i think these guys are just. not My Zone, ykwim. on the flip side so much of the humor and heart and transness and sex in sapphicworld is something that really resonates w me and just Clicks in a way that i have also found really special.

rounding myself off before i ramble for like five more paragraphs but just as one more morsel of something i like abt sapphicworld that is a little more concrete than me spinning around the room yelling "I JUST LIKE IT OKAY": one of the most fun parts of character creation is getting to mix and match your kind (sort of like ancestry/species, the form ur physical body takes) with a subculture. so u get things like a werewolf babe (cookie! babe being a subculture that focuses on being Like, Totally Hot), or a centaur knight, or a minotaur debaucher, or a vampire cowboy, or an organist (cthulu-y tentacle guy) scenester, or a skeleton wizard, etc etc etc etc — there are SO MANY to pick from that when i was trying to bait my friends into playing w me i couldn't find a convenient way to list them all so ppl could start thinking abt their characters. and every possible combination basically is interesting and amusing and fun and practically THROWS a great oc into your lap and i literally think i could amuse myself endlessly just Making Characters in sapphicworld and never actually playing w them.

[panting, disheveled] so tldr. i like it. uh. what sets sapphicworld apart from other ttrpgs to me is that i have fallen balls to the wall in love with the very soul of it to the point where i don't even really think about it in comparison to other games at all and it has just become an Experience to me and i suppose i cannot guarantee anyone else will fall into insane homosexual hysteria in the same way but here we are. HOPE THAT HELPS

What do you think is next for Ian and Mickey post-finale? i think they take a while to really settle into their new place and and make it their own, and it's a bit of an adjustment (for both of them) to fit in with this new crowd and this new environment, but they're learning how to grow and evolve together and at the end of the day that's all that really matters to the both of them

Hm… I’ve already spoken at length about your portrayals before and I’d prefer to add on newer content than to repeat old content so… let’s focus on some of your other muses that I didn’t touch on the last time that I feel comfortable in talking about.

I personally don’t write with him or send anything to him (as we know), but others do and sometimes you write meta posts for him as well, which I read.

Random trivia is that I worked on this in the opposite order lol so I’m writing this section last and I’m already so tired and my back is PAIN so let’s try to make this less painful for me as I try to be quick about it.

In general, I’ve never threaded with him, but others have sent in things for him or threaded with him. You seem to focus on the more darker and closed off aspect of him, but still balance it out with the fact that he’s willing to put up with things for not only his ideals, but also because of Chrome. His care for Chrome is evident in the fact that he puts up with the Vongola and not actively disparaging them too much for them being Mafia. It’s utterly evident the disdain he has when interacting with other mafia because (as we know) he hates them. So, there are some exceptions that can be made.

He’s an incredibly nuanced and intricate character to understand and write for. I don’t think I’ve noticed much of the creepy-ish aspect of him. Like the shadiness and the intense lengths he’s willing to go to fulfill his goals (ie taking over the body of his friends, taking over the body of a random child, etc). It’s these kinds of actions that really unnerve me and hence I don’t like him because it just creeps me out from a ‘aldksjfalsdfk that’s medium-key scary if you really think about it’ standpoint. I don’t think I’ve noticed the same kind of vibe too much from the interactions you’ve had.

Though, I suppose with TYL, perhaps that was toned down some due to the tools and abilities he has at his disposal now. With Chrome, he’s more or less more human when he’s around her, and the shady, nefarious vibes are less. That’s likely why I haven’t noticed it much. That’s great for me, because I see him doing something shady (I include smirking in this category bc Amano has a way of drawing his smirks in such a way that it unnerves me) and I instantly want to just fly away. I appreciate him as a character, love the way he fits into the story and is such an integral part to the story-telling of KHR… but he makes my jimmies go crazy and I NO LIKE.

For the interactions I’ve seen, I think you’re doing well with him. I can only assume I’d see more of what I deem ‘creepy vibes’ if he were to interact with some other characters, but I’m also the ‘Nope don’t wanna see it, actively will shut off my eyes’… so… yeah. I call it self-preservation instincts. I’m a big pansy, yes. Truly, him shooting himself in the head really cemented him in my heart as: I DO NOT LIKE HIM, HE SCARES ME, HE IS TOO INTENSE FOR MY LIL BABY HEART. DON’T LOOK AT ME SCARY PINEAPPLE MAN.

Hmm… we don’t interact much with Tsuna and Haru (for reasons that you and I both know), but given what I know, I do think it’s an interesting take for Tsuna in some regards. Like the idea that he did possibly notice Haru, but also pretty much doubt the fact that her feelings were real/would last long. In a sense, she was like a back up almost. An interesting take indeed, and that isn’t to say that I dislike it or anything like that. Just not a take that I think I’ve seen anyone else take so far, which makes it fascinating.

Given some of the instances seen in canon and the little hints of people making references to him taking more interest in her/noticing her, there is some weight to the thought so it’s fun to think about. It sort of works with the fact that he’s so socially ill-adapted due to being so alone for a lot of his formative years, he’s not very good at understanding all of the social aspects or being comfortable in a strong social environment. He’s still pretty young though, so he can learn.

It is that lack in sociability that does hinder some of the way he interacts with people or understands them. I’ve said it before that I personally think that is one of the reasons why he’s never really denied Haru outright in the series or rejected her because he didn’t want to hurt her, he didn’t know how to, and he likely thought that if he avoided the situation altogether, she’d eventually move on anyways. I don’t know if he understood the hurt that may have come along with it, however. We also talked about the hyper-intuition thing, so that’s likely a reason he may not have known, because he didn’t think about it.

So how would he know if he didn’t think to know about it. I do think it’s fascinating how your Tsuna tends to anger Haru somewhat often lol. In some ways it’s unfamiliar, and it may come off as out of character for him, BUT HEAR ME OUT FIRST(!), that I personally think it’s more in line of who Tsuna should’ve been. Hyper-intuition can only help so much, and for a guy who canonically has been stated to have like no friends, and barely talked to any girls up until he talked to Kyoko by sheer coincidence—he really should’ve been making more mistakes when dealing with people, I think.

He should’ve struggled more to pick up on social cues, or misunderstand them. We did see a little bit of that with the Yamamoto roof scene where Tsuna kind of spoke thoughtlessly because he just wanted to say something to Yamamoto, but we know how that turned out. Given his setting, I truly think that there should’ve been a bit more in the realm of Tsuna just messing up with social interactions and bonding with people properly. Perhaps it’s just the fact that he’s the tsukkomi so there wasn’t a need to really showcase that- but we do know he does say some stupid things sometimes because he doesn’t realize how it can come off. ‘dId yOu eAt YaKiSOba?’ << See, he can say stupid shit too and just really get it so wrong from a sociability standpoint.

Like, I expected more things where he says something, intending something, but someone else takes it the wrong way. Idk SOMETHING but it really felt more like… he just assimilated so quickly to having friends and accepting them into his life so quickly. Sure, he did have moments where he’d doubt the friendship (ie ‘Gokudera-kun is going to be so disappointed in me now’) but it was really a lot less than I expected.

Before anyone says it, NO, I did not expect for Tsuna to go second guessing all of his friendships or anything, but it really felt like the fact that he was a loner for so long got overlooked and glossed over. I suppose we can try to chalk it up to quick adaptability and hyper-intuition.

ESSENTIALY!!! I actually kinda find it refreshing that Tsuna does mess up with Haru and sometimes give off the wrong meaning because he’s just --- dumb, socially. He’s learning, it’s a learning curve. Like, he clearly meant well by congratulating Haru on her relationship with Dera, but the way he went about it, just sparked her ire because it’s like read the room, did you really have to say it like that? It just feels more organic with the way he messed up because it shows better how it didn’t occur to him how it could’ve hurt her the way he went about congratulating her as her first failed love. Some of these things come with experience of dealing with people.

Sure, he has a lovely way of pissing her off in a lot of interactions, but it’s kinda fun. It feels a lil different from Tsuna canonically, but I do think it feels more organic and real- which is what I like. So, I like the way you go about writing him.

I haven’t really seen all that much of him, but I have seen a small bit here and there, especially with the guest appearance in the ‘arranged au.’ I’ve noticed you tend to stick with his more serious and calm side than some of his more troll tendencies. By no means is that a bad thing, just an observation that I made.

In other words, you focus on the more serious side of him, where it gives the feel of staying truer to the mafia-aspects of things rather than the more troll anime-mafia kinda vibe that Amano gave off, which is fun. He’s still very serious about training Tsuna, molding him to be the best boss that he can be, and he takes good care of Tsuna’s circle. No matter how useful or important in the grand scheme of things someone may or may not be to the Vongola 10, he will look out for them and ensure they’re okay because that’s what Tsuna would want.

I think that was handled well in that thread, especially with how it was Reborn that was giving Gokudera the warning to treat her well and to not do something stupid, else he’ll regret it. Tsuna of course cares for his friends and would exact revenge should anything happen to any of them, but he’s also not the one to openly and so bluntly threaten/warn someone if they hadn’t given any reason to make him be wary of them. Out of fighting mode, he does usually retain the passive attitude, so he wouldn’t have been the one to give a warning, but Reborn who knows him well and knows his stance was the one to issue the warning.

It may seem like a minor detail, but it’s very in line with their dynamic. Not sure if you did it that way on purpose or not, but I liked that touch for that reason. Him walking off right after that warning/threat was also just very like him. It feels more poignant when you threaten and then leave. It’s a more lasting impression that way, I feel as it gives the feel of ‘I’m done here so I am just going to go regardless of how you may be feeling at the moment. It gives very little in the ways of showing Gokudera if his answer was satisfactory or not, gives everyone in the room little time to process the exchange between the two as he just leaves them- which is a lowkey power move. Shows who has the upper hand as he’s the one who chose to end the conversation right then and there and no one could argue against him. No one tried to make him stay or anything.

That shows just how much respect he commands within the Vongola 10 and how strong an influence he is. He did more of the talking than Tsuna did perhaps, given the way that the thread was structured at the time, which would lead me to believe that perhaps this was a lil show for Tsuna to show him how to handle such situations like these moving forwards. To Gokudera’s point, it would be a show of that ‘he may be a tutor, but he commands a lot of sway within the Vongola 10. He is able to dictate the conversation and help with the decision-making. Tsuna hasn’t argued against him or anything, so it shows how much trust he has in Reborn and that is a well-orchestrated and silent display of their dynamic.

It's in the action and the words that really spell out how you view the dynamic between the two and I think it’s a pretty good fit for how they are in canon. Let him into a grungy movie!!!! This isn't really a genre but Lazarus NEEDS to be a Lost Boys vampire he would thrive SO MUCH. On that note, urban fantasy or perhaps something that's more pure horror than Barovia (He would thrive as a monster, but like, for the WORST reasons bc he probably wouldn't have the morality chain he has now)

What genre would your OC do badly in but it would be hilarious or interesting to watch?

G-dddddd it would be so funny to throw him in a dating sim/slice of life, or more light hearted fantasy/slapstick because any type of focus on feelings would knock him WAY off balance and the "rules" of the genre would prevent him from physically injuring anyone else lmao

If your OC wrote fanfiction (or if they already do), what type? (fix fic, ship, crossovers, AUs, smut, etc.)

Hmmmmm... He's a VERY serious little guy, but going off of "drow like playing intense and days long strategy board games" type hc, I think if he wrote fic, it would be really heavy on the politics and really crunchy world building, with the characters as more of a vehicle for that. He'd be VERY intense about the lore but any fic would have to have like 800000 layers of separation from the rest of his life because NO ONE CAN KNOW HE DOES THAT.

How would your OC do in the last book/movie/tv show/game/etc. you read/watched/played?

LMFAO NOT HASR'THAL ON GAME CHANGERRRRRR,,, He'd 100% get way too worked up and competitive about it- absolutely the type to have Brennan level unhinged rants, for SURE (but he's 4'7 so it's far more comical)

Keev:

In a murder mystery, what role would your OC play? (e.g. detective, sidekick, wacky suspect, rival investigator who gets in thew way, red herring, true culprit)

....Can he be the victim~? (I kid, I kid- Bo don't beat me up,,,) He’s a smart cookie! Resourceful and quick minded, but he doesn't really enjoy the spotlight, so I think he would fall into a sidekick roll. Keev is good for tagging along and observing, then bouncing ideas off of others, but he doesn't have a lot of faith in his ability to read people, so I don't think he would want to be the main detective accusing anyone of anything.

Ardezo:

What media does your character enjoy? (For characters in settings that aren’t modern Earth, could be media from their home setting or what they’d like in a modern Earth AU)

He likes reading in his main setting (ayyyyy Faerun)- lots of books and scrolls and music (Not too much exciting stuff when you live in a dragon death temple, though there's lots of access and contact with the Underdark, so maybe drow parties lol). In a more modern earth type setting, he'd probably be REALLY into things like Lockpicking Lawyer, Fascinating Horror, REALLY love audio books so he can listen to books while he works on stuff (different poisons or toxins, maybe histories of how to use that). He'd be REALLY into practical special effects and honesty probably be fascinated by fursuiters. (He's not ashamed by any stretch, about his scales, but he's a little annoyed he can't display or hide them with easy like his siblings can, so sfx transformations would be his sh-t lol)

Edelweiss:

Was your OC influenced or inspired by any particular fictional character(s) when you made them?

Not particularly for Edelweiss! My main influence for him was making the cutest, most pastel and fluffy looking murderb-bard~ (who's going to suspect the airhead who dresses in pinks and gold of being a hag-blooded college of whispers bard~?)

What type of Avatar The Last Airbender-type bender (or non-bender) would your OC be? Any bending specialties?

So lesse.... Ironically for my dumb drow and vampire, I think Hasr'Thal and Lazarus are probably fire benders. They're both aggressive and driven (to different degrees) and while Hasr'Thal prefers to use his spells to assist the others in his party more than directly fight, his personal beliefs are rooted in passion and ruthless motion forward. Lazarus is more straightforward- he's a monk, he's fast, violent, and gives into his base instincts probably too much, and he is GARBAGE at defense.

Keev and Edelweiss (despite being a direct blood descendant of an ICE hag) are probably air benders- Keev tries SO hard to be a pacifist and focuses his spell choices on things like slow or haste, with abjuration thrown in, he hits hard WHEN he does, but he focuses far more on evasion. Edelweiss is a bit more bombastic, but he's been flighty and nomadic almost his whole life, blowing in and out of town on a whim. His spells (outside of his innate ice abilities) are mainly focused on causing fear, listening to things unseen, and spying. An argument could be made for waterbending but tbh that's a bit clichéd?

Who WOULD be a waterbender would be Fion (boy's probably a little TOO into bloodbending, honestly- he's dancing way too close to taboo spirit work right now and then there's all the murder...) Ardezo is also probably a waterbender- tempted to say he might be a non-bender, with his complex about ONLY being a draconic sorcerer when his siblings are half dragons, but he IS still very magic and his style is very "hang back, don't be seen, poison or strike when they're distracted" and he worships a dual God of death and undeath, so fluidity in all things are his motto

What would be your OC’s My Little Pony cutie mark?

I was never really into MLP so these might be funky.... Hasr'Thal has an ouroboros (He's mad about it but that's what you get when you want to end the cycle of violence with an act of incredible violence) Lazarus might not HAVE one yet, or it just recently showed up, as a red vine climbing into stars. Keev has maybe a pie, or a simple hearth (bc despite being an adventurer, all he wants is to be a baker). Edelweiss also probably had a late.... branding?? But it's a storm cloud ;3c Ardezo just wants to have stronger dragon blood so baaaaaad that his is probably just a shadow dragon silhouette lol

LMAO almost all of them are! BUT we've done games inside games or thought about it before so I can answer what class they would PLAY in addition to what they are lol

Keev- He's a shadow sorcerer (with a few levels in abjuration wizard) and also a forever DM when he ran it IC, but if he were to make an idealized version of himself, he would be a Paladin of Devotion - though he wouldn't draw his power from a God, just faith in other people

Lazarus- Shadow monk! We did a one-shot where I DM'd as Laz but he would make an assassin rogue (because he's a cool edgy boy~)

Hasr'Thal- Warlock, mainly pacted with an archfey but he kinda maybe made a second pact with the Void that desires the heat death of the universe oops??? If he made a character it would be an INSUFFERABLE wizard because he's definitely not bitter at ALL about not getting to finish schooling to become one himself.

Edelweiss is, as listed above, a College of Whispers bard, and would probably play the same in a game, though he might play a "nicer" college (and maybe not use a fey type race)

Ardezo- draconic sorcerer~ (shadow dragon lineage- NOT a black dragon thank you very much) He might play around with rolling up a rogue, but he'd multiclass bc I think he would miss the magic lol

I'm glad you liked my thoughts on soft winter 😌 for my next trick I propose winter & physical touch/quality time. This thought has been living in my mind rent free! I can totally imagine winter just loving spending time with someone she likes. I also think she would like just like being close to someone. I saw u mention the idea that winter re-braided Alice's hair after she got egg on it bc it looked much neater in the first flashback and i couldn't get it out of my head since. This got me thinking that she would just casually fix someone's hair/help style it etc so imagine "sitting in winter's lap while she brushes ur hair". Can you tell the kind of person I am the kind of person she is. Here's a little insight, we went to the city about an hours drive from here TO ONLY hang out at the mall, we get in the car after the mall and she says "oh HEY LETS GET PIERCINGS" I have explained to her many times that I have to get piercings in a VERY specific way or I will get infections regardless of how well I take care of them bc of family genetics. She DID NOT call ahead of time to ask them if they do it that specific way and guess what I couldn't do, get the fucking piercing. Then she wants to bitch and moan until I tell her that she can pay for my fucking medical bills when I lose part of my fucking ear.

Then she wants to go to a VERY EXPENSIVE RESURAUNT, she pretty much rich so she was going to pay for it, but this resuraunt opens at 4pm and is RESERVATIONS ONLY guess what she didn't make, a fucking reservations and bc of that guess what I had to derail the conversation from bc she wanted to have a big bang of a meal of meat bc she was going pescatarian this year.

So I had to rip out one of my special interest to distract her with so I wouldn't have to hear her whining about her own stupidity

❦ tsukishima kei as the sin of pride was something he was well known for. he walked with his head held high and with a thick air of arrogance surrounding him. people whispered wherever kei went. one deathly glare would shut them up though, and he would go about his day like normal. of course, never in a million years would kei admit it, but those small comments hurt. even the sin of pride gets a bit insecure at times. but then he met you. you were the one person who actually accepted him for who he was. you could put a smile on his face and there was this softer side of himself that he only showed you. he didn’t let the quiet whispers that followed him everywhere get to him, because the only thing in kei’s head was you. he’d still never tell you that, though.

❦ oikawa tooru was the greediest person one could come across. whether it be money, food, power, etc, he wanted it. oh, that new line of clothes that gucci just came out with? he needs it. and he’ll get it…after pulling a few strings. tooru’s spending habits often leave him broke, but what can he say? it makes him happy seeing that new porsche in his front yard. having you by his side, he’s still greedy, but for something else. your love and affection, of course! he catches you eyeing that new Louis Vuitton bag in the window and it's in your hands a second later. His love language is gift giving, with a hint of physical touch too. please hold him in your arms! tooru is a sucker for that. (just be prepared to be spoiled rotten until he has half a penny left in his bank account)

❦ kuroo tetsurō was known as a master of provocation. is there really anyone better to hold the name as the sin of lust than him? of course he’s slept around, sending flirty winks and sultry smiles towards anyone surrounding him regardless of gender (pan king bc i said so). he has to fulfill his needs somehow! being with you is enough for him though. generally without a partner, he’ll have a couple of one night stands here and there, but always remains devoted to his partner whenever he has one. even if his partner is asexual, that wont make him love you any less. cuddles will happen often, though! he loves praising you and bragging to everyone about his stunning and handsome s/o. tetsurō loves pda, but will always be sure to tone it down a notch if you aren’t comfortable with it.

❦ bokuto kōtarō can get envious very quickly. doesn’t matter with what – if someone gets the last cookie instead of him or if his pet gives someone else more attention than he gets. he will get jealous. he’ll get all whiny and pouty and his emo mode appears often. hugs from you help him of course! if someone flirts with you while kōtarō is around, he’ll wrap his arms around your waste and glare at the person until they walk away. he has two love languages – words of affirmation and physical touch. he tries not to overstep your boundaries and will give you space whenever you need it. he feels a sense of pride whenever someone stares at you and he thinks, “wow. i have an amazing s/o, and they’re all mine.”

❦ tendō satori was a chocolatier, which is both the best and worst job for the sin of gluttony. he makes chocolate and has to try and resist the thought of eating it all up, even when he’s painfully hungry. sometimes his urges got the best of him, and he’d have to redo a very large order of chocolate truffles just as he was about to call his customer and tell them the order was complete. the poor client was so confused as to why it took him longer to complete. you, however, always help him out. you helped him make a stash both of you can eat from whenever he feels a bit hungry while making chocolate! tendō absolutely adores you, the void in his stomach is full when you’re around.

❦ kageyama tobio basically embodied wrath and was always scowling wherever he went. he has an “angry pillow” he keeps in his room that he absolutely beats the shit out of whenever someone strikes a certain nerve in him. his revenge plans are lowkey the best and he always enjoys watching people get what they had coming. even so, you help him keep his anger in control! he cracks the smallest of smiles when he’s with you if nobody is around. if someone bothered him while he was out, he’d go to you and just hug you, face buried in the crook of your neck. doesn’t matter if you’re taller or shorter, tobio will find a way.

❦ kenma kozume was the sin of sloth. his eyes were always drooping and ready to fall into a deep slumber even if he got an abnormally large amount of sleep the night before. it was just so pleasant! warm blanket surrounding him, soft pillow under his head, nothing could beat that comforting feeling. well — maybe the feeling of you hugging him, under the covers with him, soft breath fanning the back of his neck was a clear winner. kenma loves putting his head in your lap as you brush your fingers through his hair as he listens to you talk about your day. his breathing would calm and he’d fall asleep to the sound of your soft humming, only to wake up to you cuddled into his chest.

Angst Alphabet - Trafalgar Law

A-Accident (would they blame themselves if you died in an accident?)

He would only blame himself if any of his actions led to the accident that caused your death (we’ve seen him blame himself for that very reason about Rosinantes death). If his actions weren’t directly correlated to your death in any way then he would not blame himself, though he would kick himself for not being able to help you in time. Other than that, Law is painfully aware of the harsh reality that is life.

B-Break up (How would they break up with you?)

Law would break up with you in a seemingly emotionless way. He’d mask his true feelings, while telling you a whole bunch of excuses why the two of you could no longer be together. He doesn’t believe any of them, but he’s got to do what he’s got to do.

C-Crying (how would they make you cry?)

I feel like I’ve used this one in a few other character alphabets but it really applies to Law too. He would cause you to stress and panic so much over his health and wellbeing. He’s a literal doctor. He should know to take better care of himself, but he just doesn’t seem to care about himself the same way you do. So it isn’t until you’re crying in front of him, spilling your heart out about how concerned you are for his safety that he realizes his health is important to more than just himself.

D-Death (how would they react to your death?)

My god, if Law was to lose another person that he loved, he literally would never want to let himself get close to anyone ever again. Your death would be it for Law. He’d basically be on the verge of giving up himself. What other reason does he have to go on.

E-Emotion (what is one emotion they would try to hide the most and how would they do it?)

He tries to hide every emotion. Law doesn’t like to be too open, out of fear of people using it against him or it simply being too much of a sign of weakness. So, very rarely does he let his emotions show. He also tries to divert attention away from himself in hopes that people won’t focus on him or his emotions for too long.

F-Fight (do you two ever fight? How big are the fights? What do you fight about? Etc.)

This was covered in his fluff alphabet! But here it is again:

Your fights tend to be pretty short lived resulting in forgiveness and apologies from both sides relatively quickly. He really doesn’t like to stay mad at you for too long – he’d much rather have you two on the same page.

Most fights are caused by stress and concerns of health and safety, so Law does a lot of eye rolling and using his title as a ‘doctor’ as justification that he knows what he’s doing so you just need to chill – but like I said these fights are very short lived.

G-Guilt (what is the biggest thing they feel guilty about?)

Law will never forgive himself for Rosinantes death. He will forever feel responsible for his death – it was all his fault. If only he hadn’t given that note to Vergo, then Rosinante would still be alive. He died because of Law’s incompetence (at least that’s what he tells himself).

H-Heartbreak (what would cause them pain in the relationship? How would they deal during a break-up?)

During a break-up Law would act pretty normal. He wouldn’t behave any differently until he’s left alone. Only then would he let himself go and truly feel that heartbreak.

I-Injured (how would they react if you are badly injured?)

Thanks to the doctor in him, Law is able to remain calm. He can keep his composure until he administers whatever treatment necessary. That’s not to say he isn’t worried though. He’s just capable of focusing on the injury right in front of him.

Only once he is certain that you are stable does he (or potentially his crew) go and hunt down the cause of your beating.

J-Jealousy (what do they do if they are jealous?)

When Law does get jealous (which is rarely), he gets quiet. His fists clench a little more, and his frown deepens. He also speaks less than usual (which is already pretty hard to beat). He only gives you short snippy replies until he eventually gets over it.

K-Kill (would they kill for revenge?)

Law would kill for revenge, yes. He literally wanted to kill Doflamingo as revenge for Rosinante. However, it was in Law’s plan that Kaido would be the one to kill Doflamingo (after they fought) – so I believe that is how he’d kill for revenge as well. He would devise a fool proof plan (okay maybe not fool proof, bc if the straw hats are involved who knows what could go wrong).

In short, yes. Law would kill for revenge.

L-Loss (what is their greatest loss?)

This poor man has suffered so much loss in his life that it’s actually really difficult to choose which would be his greatest loss. He lost his entire family as a young boy while also having a shortened lifespan himself. Losing his family, and the realization that he only had a few more years to live, really made him lose his will to live a good remainder of his life. Young Law literally became a pirate.

However, he did meet Rosinante (Corazon) and he gave him another reason to live. Furthermore, Rosinante actively sought out a cure for Law so that he could continue to live a long life. Basically, Rosinante became a father figure/older brother to Law. So, losing him – another ¬person he loved so dearly – would have been beyond devastating.

M-Mistake (what is the worst mistake they ever made with you?)

There was one day where he spent the entire day ignoring you. It was completely unintentional. His mind was swarming with plans and all this other information that has just come in. He got so immersed in it that he didn’t talk to you or tell you what was going on for a whole day.

N-Nightmares (how often do they have them? What are they about? How do they deal with it?)

Nightmares are one of the many reasons Law hardly ever sleeps. He’s haunted by his family’s and Rosinantes deaths. His nightmares get particularly bad around the same time each year (that is, around the time of year that they died). He wakes up trembling and on the verge of tears (but he never lets them fall). Instead of even trying to go back to sleep, he’ll make himself a nice hot cup of coffee and immerse himself in a book or work of some kind – anything to avoid going back to sleep and risking a re-run of that horrible nightmare.

O-Outrage (how and why would they get mad at you?)

Sometimes his exhaustion catches up to him and other times its all the stress building up that finally he snaps and all the emotions are too overwhelming that he just directs it to the nearest outlet, which just so happens to be you.

P-Past (what has happened in your relationship that changed the way you saw each other?)

You walked in on him absolutely breaking down over Rosinante. One evening Law retreated to his room while you and the rest of the crew were eating and drinking. He didn’t think you had noticed him leave, but soon you were following after him. You opened the door and found him breaking down in the middle of the room. You completely forgot that it was the anniversary of Rosinantes death. It was the first time you had seen him this distraught and it broke your heart.

It really cemented into your brain that no matter how tough he may look, he still suffers (probably more so than anyone). But, you were also grateful that you were able to see him like that, as it allowed him to start relying on you a little more.

Q-Quality (what is their most dangerous/toxic quality?)

His inability to openly express his emotions. Sure, now he will share with you how he is feeling, but that is with you and ONLY you. He still insists on keeping everything else bottle away from the rest of the world which is a really unhealthy way to deal with things. It’s not that you dislike being there for him, in fact, you appreciate how trusting he is with you. It’s just, what if there comes a time where you aren’t around and he’s in desperate need of someone to confide in?

R-Rejection (how would they react to you rejecting their confession (or the other way around)).

Law would wait until he was 100% certain you returned his feelings to confess to you. So, if you were to reject his confession he would be really confused for a while. He’d let it go because well, everyone has their own reasons – its not his place to tell you how you feel. All he can do is tell you how he feels and then the rest is up to you.

S-Scars (battle or self-inflicted)

He has no self-inflicted scars, and to my knowledge he has no battle scars either. But, his arm did get cut off and then reattached during the Dressrosa arc, so it actually is likely that there is a remaining scar from that (although I’m not certain).

T-Trust (have they ever broken your trust?)

Nope not at all. In fact, the only instance in which he would possibly break your trust, or lie to you, about is when he went to Punk Hazard and sent his crew to Zou. Some would assume that he wouldn’t tell you his plan out of fear of your safety, but that’s not true. He had to tell you. You taught him to be open and honest, and to trust. So that’s exactly what he did.

U-Urge (how badly do they want to see you after you guys separated?)

Law has gotten so comfortable around you that whenever you aren’t there, he gets unbearably anxious. Your presence is soothing, even if he can’t see you, even if he can only hear your voice echoing throughout the Polar Tang, it’s enough to put his mind at ease. So, if you are separated for a while… oh boy does he want to see you badly.

V-Vicious (what do they do when they lash out on you?)

He tends to yell at you. He tells you to “piss off” and that “you’re only being a nuisance right now”, despite you only wanting to help him.

W-Weak (what makes them feel weak how do they try to avoid it?)

Not being able to control things makes Law feel really weak. Weak may not be the right word, but it definitely makes him feel unprepared. He doesn’t like when things are out of his control and he can’t account for things. Which is usually why he always does extensive research and preparation before constructing a well thought out plan.

X-X-ray (what do they hate and show it most obviously?)

Well, I mean other than his obvious hatred of bread, Law also really hates when he works extremely hard on formulating a plan only for it to be completely thrown out of the window by a reckless straw hat wearing captain and his entire crew. (and somehow everything still ends up working out!!! That is the part that frustrates Law the most HAHAH).

Y-Yearn (what is one thing that they want but can’t have?)

One of the only things he’s ever really wanted was for Doflamingo to be taken down. He’s been partially successful in that sense, seeing as Doflamingo is in prison now. However, he wants more than that. He wants Doflamingo to suffer the same way he has.

Z-Zero (what do they do/say in your dying moments?)

It may seem a little out of character but… I believe Law would be borderline desperate/inconsolable. There would be a lot of clinging on to you, begging you not to leave him like everyone else he’s ever loved. He can’t handle another person leaving him, it’s too much. It’s far too much.

He wouldn’t cry (just yet), but his voice would tremble, and his hands would be shaking. His mind would be racing with all sorts of theories and possible ways he could save you. How could he possibly prevent the inevitable?

just wanted to drop by and share my thoughts on having a fave who dotes on u the second u come home from work (bc ive been so tired after work lately so this is definitely self indulgent)

first of all imo this fave doesnt want u working anything more than part time once you two get serious bc he is very capable of taking care of all of your mutual needs and just genuinely wants to take care of his sweetheart. so anyway, a part time job can still be exhausting so if there's a day he's home before you, his first course of action is some hugs and kisses, like he scoops you up into his strong arms and smooches your face and in between kisses tells you how much he missed you.

he lets you go get yourself comfortable i.e changing your clothes, washing up, etc before he is showing u to the snack he has set out for you (usually fruits or something until dinner is ready bc hello fruits are lovely and he also worries about you getting your vitamins and hydration. but he will often include something that's more of a treat like a pastry or cookie) and while u enjoy the snacks together, he lets you go off about your day, what was good, what was bad, and everything else on your mind. you make plans for the evening, and when snacktime is over and dinner is simmering on the stove or in the oven, he has you on the couch cuddling into his chest while you watch a show together. if u fall asleep, he'll indulge it for an hour or two but will wake you up so you can eat dinner and properly prepare for bed. all in all, he just wants you to feel safe and have no worries at all the second you two are together again <3

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH but all i can think about is canon/househusband Nanami!! Thinkin bout him comin home before you all excited to make yall a snack and he's just so cheerful like this is the highlight of his day!! He hugs you so tight once you get home and peppers your face with kisses bc he just can't get enough of you!! Sometimes he'll ask to shower with you just bc he missed u so much and wants to be close to you! first up we have . ok you need the context first. I go by Adam frequently yeah. but I’m also REALLY bad at finding names I like for ocs. so. None of these are self inserts but they’re all. theyre all called Adam. (But like /gen bc self inserts are cool)

Oc #1:

parrot hybrid. you know the dark blue with yellow parrot? imagine that. they have the taloned hands and feet that avian hybrids usually have, but they aren’t really scaled. it’s more like bone/nail structure and heavier calluses. theyre around 5’3 but 5’7-ish when tiptoeing (biological for reaching/take-off/intimidation) and a wingspan of 12-13 feet. darker hair and eyes to blend in with vegetation and dark plumage.

humans also have these really cool bioluminescent stripes along our bodies and I though, hey what if adam-1 had that but a little brighter? so imagine like really really faint scars that work in an camouflage way. for a lot of mobs (which I headcanon to be able to see infrared and other wavelengths depending on the mob) they can pick up on those things to find players/food, and so they would have slightly brighter ones that help them to blend in with colorful surroundings.

very picky eater, and sensitive to lots of sugars and wheats (parrots + cookies = hell no). mainly a carnivore when it comes to diet.

I’d say their personality is closer to omnivert. they’re very loud when everyone else and quiet with people they trust/care for. a prankster ofc. creeper noises do numbers among the crowds (evryone funkingf hates it /lh). they don’t settle down. they like a small base and exploring.

they have a prosthetic leg from the knee down that’s netherite (bc having a prosthetic break is SHIT). It makes cool clank clink noises when they walk on hard surfaces if they don’t have leather bindings for talons n such on.

not too many scars. they usually avoid conflict but they have one along their arm from a badly healed break.

that’s all I really have for 1 unless you want me to go into bone structure and anatomy n such ^^

Oc #2:

I got a little obsessed with sculk when it came out so their colour palette + looks reflect that. imagine like the “pillars” on the sculk shrieker but a little smaller and put it on their skull. like a crown almost. very dark hair. BLIND gotta make em blind. then imagine taking pitch black paint and dipping it to your elbows. their arms look like that. then the veins a bit up the arms fade from black to a sculk-blue (all vv muted though bc veins are under the skin ofc). I like the idea that the pillars would be someone else on the body too but I’m not sure where.

short! they live underground ofc they’re gonna be short. they also navigate through sound like the sculk but it’s closer to echolocation than getting your senses triggered by a sound.

low empathy, very matter-of-fact and literal. herbivore too I’d like to think they eat glow lichen and roots from the lush caves. might eat a fish or two if they can get access to one. xp doesn’t do much for them bc they’re a sculk shrieker hybrid and not a sculk one.

lots of scars!! mob run-ins, falling of ledges, etc. there’s one all along their back that looks like poorly healed roadrash from accidentally tumbling off a cliff edge.

ok i got like four. first is an aardwolf hybrid. they’re a cowboy named rigby and i lov them. standard aardwolf coloring w bright yellow eyes and a red bandana. they have a touch of the tism and try to stay kinda low when they can. no big or visible scars bc they run the second they sense danger. mostly a thief and collector.

second is a cat hybrid. she’s actually a mix of two of my very first minecraft ocs! her name is gapple, shes a bobcat, and shes got one yellow eye and a purple prosthetic eye bc she was hit by a torch as a kid and that burned her eye badly. gapple is more of the fighter and shes got way more scars than rigby. notable her face where the torch burned her and her shoulders from wrestling mobs.

third one is edmund. hes my actual oldest oc had him since i was like 8 years old or smthn. hes an average enderman but he has no enderpearl so he cant teleport. taller than most endermen and incredibly nerdy. i miss him.

lastly there’s marco. hes a creeper hybrid and edmunds boyfriend. marco can’t blow up like other creepers can, not bc hes a hybrid but bc hes missing the key components to be able to do so. hes shy and a bit jumpy.

As promised, here my answers :3 thanks @orphicpoieses for tagging me <3 I'm going to talk about my Mini Steter Bang-Wip "On The Other Side" here (though I might make another post with my original story "The Carridan Constellations" over on @pencilcoreandgreenleafheart as soon as I've done the intro posts I want to make over there 😂)

Inspiration: I usually see something - a phrase/prompt, an image, another story, etc. - where I then go "Oh, that would just fit so well to my blorbos!" and kinda play with the idea/thoughts. And if it's got a certain... feel of opacity, of something more being there and sentences and scenes and dialoge pops into my head, well I'm starting to write 😂 This time I actually was on my way from work and there's a very small coffee shop in the lower part of an apartment building. And on the other side right across a small street, there is the exact same apartment building with the exact same kind of shop area inside.

And I looked at the shops, one completely in the sun and one completely in the shadows and my mind went to: "Oh, that's why it's called "Sonnenwinkel" (the name of the coffee shop - literal translation "Sunny Angle" or "Sunny Corner")! So funny that the other building is completely in the shadow! Light and Dark! It would be so fun if there was another coffee shop in the other building, like.. "Zur Schattenseite" (liteally "To The Shadow/Dark Side"; I had to laugh so much when I translated it the first time. And yes there will be a "Come to 'The Dark Side' we have cookies!"-joke somewhere in there! 😂) or something. With different opening hours of course, otherwise the second coffee shop wouldn't really be able to make any profit here. There isn't much else here other than apartment buildings..." The idea of a coffee shop that's open during the night already occupies my brain since I've played "Coffe Talk", a Visual Novel Game, a few years ago. (It's a great game and available for pc and switch and maybe others? Really, I love the shit out of that thing! It's got such a brilliant atmosphere and lovable characters and it's got a contemporary fantasy setting and I just love it! xD)

And yeah, that's kinda how that Idea started to take form xD That it became Steter was kinda an association game bc I thought about who would run these shops and it would be funny if a person/type of creature (because I always want a bit of magic/fantasy in my stories) that's normally associated with darkness would run the sunny shop and someone associated with the light the night/dark shop and, well, who's associated with darkness more than werewolves and vampires? And when my mind goes to werewolves it most definitely lands on Steter atm 😂😂😂 Preparation: I use Scrivener for all of my writing projects since around 2012 or smth. So I do have my templates and projects etc. So the only thing I actually did to prepare was to start my "Fanfiction"-Project, create a sub-folder in my "Teen Wolf"-folder and add a Note where I put in the photos I made (because yes, I immediately had to make photos of both buildings), and the first vague ideas for the story - maybe 4-5 bulletpoints/half formed sentences about who, what, where, some details (like that I wanted to call the other coffee shop "Zur Schattenseite", that I wanted to play with something moon/night-magic-y thing and something sun/day-magic-y thing, etc.). Otherwise I actually didn't do much 😂 Though for larger projects I do prepare their own Scrivener projects for them.

Process: Honestly? I just write 😅 For me it's usually the case, that the last 1-2 written sentences inspire/prompt the next few bits of what I'm going to write. I do have vague ideas of where I want to go but I mostly kinda write from sentence to sentence and paragraph to paragraph until it feels finished. That said, my process started to change over the last year or maybe longer. I never really edited in the beginning and thus liked to write myself into a corner - or I edited a scene so much that I lost all hope and left a project. Due to the last few years where I participated (and won) NaNoWriMo I finally lost (or at least loosened) my 'the scene is only finished writing when it's perfect' approach I had for a very long while and I'm still in the process of figuring out editing a mess into something tangible 😅 So yes, everything I have on AO3 is un-edited aside from spelling/grammar and the fact that I had to translate the english stuff since my native language is German and I only really started to write in english instead of writing in German first about a year ago 😅 For "On The Other Side" I also tried to have at least a vague plan because, since it's my first fandom event and I do have a deadline I tried to make it somehow manageable for me. So I wrote some very rough organizational notes in my Bullet Journal (like, how many words am I aiming for, how many plot points/parts do I think I will have, 1-2 sentences as summary for each part, etc.) and copied those down into Scrivener. So at the moment I'm just writing down a dirty draft that I then want to edit and yeah. New process and all 😅 Still, most of it is just... writing.

Thoughts: First: It's kinda interesting to write all that down. I mean the Inspiration-part mostly lives in my brain aside from the vague notes in Scrivener and what I told friends and the preparation and process parts are something I don't think about very much, since I actually do see it as 'I just write and put stuff in folders so I can find it again' (the details kinda just... come with me thinking about the project, I dunno. It's all very much according to 'that feels right'-feelings).

So yeah, I'm one of those annoying chaos mongrels 😅😂

Which, for short projects, isn't that problematic, but I also know that I'm really bad at long stuff - but I'm working on myself and growing and I know I'm getting better. Thus the vaguely coordinated approaches 😂 But I don't think I will loose the "I just write" approach anytime soon 😂 there will just be additions.
