With all these theories and analysis's I really think Lavi and Allen's character journey are mean't to parallel each other. It's one of the reasons why I 100% think Lavi's exorcist days are over now. W/Allen not there he has no reason to be at the Order as a bookman. His ties to the Noah seem to be growing stronger too. Just like Allen, Lavi might have to confront his past and what his future is. He is the one of the core who we know least about.
While i completely agree with you, if you mean my theories and analysis, considering i’ve dedicated my fandom life drawing parallelism between those two i seriously doubt I’m the most objective person to approve of what you say. Bc yeah, i’m a sucker for those parallelisms all around and I do believe i might be reaching at time. (but hey that’s some brain excercises at least)
So yeah now that the bias is acknowledged, i 100% agree with you.
I think the parallelism between Lavi and Allen’s characters are too on the nose to not play a part further in the story, and with the fact Lavi is a character Hoshino had been planning for a long time as its own protagonist, i wouldn’t leave it past her that they end up with this sort of parallelism.
But yeah I also don’t see him remaining as an exorcist. He has never had an important plot tying him to the Order after all (i’m still bewildered by how unconnected to his innocence he is), and with the path ahead i don’t really see what he would gain from coming back to the order. (and besides i doubt the Noah kept their innocence in one piece and it would be weird to come back with a new innocence if somehow they can just Find Them. (that’s why also most of the Heart Theories around Lavi never really consider the Hammer being the Heart). But who knows.)
But yeah, Lavi remains the one we know the least about, and considering he’s one who will have to make choices regarding his destiny, i think it will be important t explore his past and confront it and see what his future will offer.
I still believe that it could all relate to the psychological way to relate to the Bookman. The Bookman are recorders, but that’s all they do, they keep information on the history and all while wars don’t stop, and they keep as much of a neutral bias as possible. They’re in the Order’s side to get more information, but they’re not supporting them for exemple. And that’s why Lavi even wonders why they exist if wars never stop anyway in this world.
History is an important thing to learn from in order to not reproduce the past mistakes and recognize paterns that can lead to problems. But in order to act on it and break the cycles, you cannot remain neutral.
And it might be wishfull thinking but I think it could be an interesting take on Lavi’s story, but for that he has to confront how he has been raised and his past in order to define his future. After all what would be better for a Bookman who record history without bias to finally gets critical over his past and eventually be able to decide on his future? That’s kinda where I hope it’s going.
But yea that’s. hopes from me. And imo it still manages to foil on Allen a lot, who’s currently looking for the Campbell’s mansion to understand Nea and determinate his own path. That would therefore really feel like the best time to let Lavi return to the plot and faces his own past.
But yeah that’s what I think and I have a clear bias in there ahah
Take care!
