Series Masterlist Next Chapter Previous Chapter
Never had you been so anxious to walk in a straight line.
Because truth be told, that was all you needed to do to walk down the aisle- walk in a straight line.
But when that straight line meant the walk to finally get to marry your future husband, to take his last name, to start the beginning of your forever together, not to mention kissing him in front of all your closest family and friends, you couldn’t help but feel the butterflies in your stomach swirling in anticipation as you waited for your ceremony to start.
“You okay, Hermosa?” Javi asked, his thumb gently stroking your hand that he had been holding since the moment he saw you, almost as if he was refusing to let go. You looked up at him, big brown puppy dog eyes staring down at you with a goofy grin that hadn’t left his face, the sight of his handsome, broad frame easing your racing heart enough to help you remember that when you walked down that aisle in a few short minutes, he was the only thing that mattered.
“I’m perfect.” You smiled, pressing up on your toes just enough to peck his lips quickly before someone in the wedding party needed to barrate you both again about saving your kissing until after you were finally married. “I don’t think I’ve ever had this many people staring all at me at once. Knowing my luck, I’m gonna trip and fall over this dress before I can even make it to you. Or better yet, with my dumbass decision to have David and Charlie walk me down the aisle, I’ll be lucky if they don’t push me to the ground first.”
“Well, even if you did fall, you would still be the most beautiful woman on the face of this Earth. My clumsy, grass-stained wife.” Javi snickered, giving you a little nudge as you rolled your eyes, giving him a playful shove back.
“Pendejo. You have both of our vows books, right? You promise you haven’t peeked?”
“Yup, both right here in my pocket.” Javi smiled, patting his tux by his chest. “Promise I haven’t read it. Although for my sake I probably should have, because if I can’t even make it through seeing you in your dress, then these vows are gonna make me a fuckin’ goner.”
“Bold of you to assume I had nice things to say about you in there.” You teased, raising your eyebrow as you smirked at him, making Javi shake his head as he laughed.
“Alright everyone, it’s 3:00, it’s time to get this show on the road! Make sure you’re in order like we practiced, that you take your time walking down to the music, girls, please do not throw petals at each other, and make sure you all- Javi, where are you? You’re supposed to be at the front of this line, sir.” Connie sassed, proving to you that she really was the perfect person for the task of making sure that things ran smoothly today, bossing the group around like the captain of a well organized ship.
“Sorry, I’m coming,” Javi replied sheepishly. “I love you, Osita.” Sliding the hand that was entangled with yours around your waist, Javi pulled you in for a kiss, much more obviously than he probably should have, considering the shit the two of you were about to get being literal minutes away from getting married.
“Javier! Get you A-S-S up here! Kiss her all you want once you say I do!” Connie shouted, rolling her eyes at the two of you, Javi pulling away in defense with his hands raised, trying to prove his innocence.
“Oh, I know what that one spells, Mrs. Murphy! That one spells-”
“Javi? Please?” Connie asked again, quickly trying her best to cut off your niece, Olivia, before she could finish the rest of her thought in front of everyone else, making the group giggle at her matter of factness.
“Okay, okay, I’m here!” Javi pleaded, making his way to the front of the procession, taking his place next to his dad as Connie did one more check through of everyone’s spot in line before giving the music an all clear to start playing.
As you stood at the end of the line, you peeked up to see Javi turned around staring back at you with that same stupid smile on his face, completely enamored and awestruck by you, already convincing you that you were going to turn into a puddle before you could even make it down the aisle.
But as you went to re-adjust your bouquet in your grasp, you quickly realized there were not one, but two things missing from your procession line, now about to start walking down the aisle.
Your brothers.
Despite having seen them only seconds ago, as you quickly whipped your head around, they were now nowhere to be found.
“Charlie? David? Where the fuck did you go?” You whisper shouted, frantically looking around for any sight of them.
Suddenly, you heard a rustling from one of the bushes around the corner from where you had been lined up and waiting, followed by the all too familiar voices of your brothers up to no good.
“Just finish it you dingus, I already drank the first half!”
“Why the fuck did we leave this out here? It’s fucking warm. You got the better half, that’s not fair!”
“It was warm when I drank it too, dumbwad. Just finish it, we gotta fucking go, hurry up!”
As you peered behind the bush, you saw your brothers wiping their mouth with the back of their hands as the tossed a can of Miller Lite to the ground, freezing in fear as they saw your menacing and disappointed glare staring back at them.
“What the fuck do you two think you’re doing?!”
“It was David’s idea!” Charlie responded, pointing at his brother.
“Charlie didn’t say no!” David responded back, now pointing at him. “You didn’t expect us to get through this sober, did you? You’re the one who asked us to marry you, so I don’t know what to tell ya, Cubby. Plus, we wanted to pour one out for Patrick since he’s the luckiest bastard out of all of us and doesn’t have to worry about fucking up marrying his little sister.”
“God, you two are idiots. Well that thing you agreed to do is happening as we speak so can we go do that, please?” You sighed, trying your best not to laugh at your brother’s antics, knowing that you really should have expected nothing less from the pair after you and Javi had asked them to officiate your wedding, considering neither of you had wanted anything religious, and wanted someone who knew you to be the ones to do it.
“Okay, okay!” They replied, one rushing to each side of you and hooking their arm around yours as you made your way back to your spot at the end of the processional line that had now begun to move forward.
“Where were you 3 dumbbells? The ceremony is starting!” Your dad gruffed, trying his best to restrain from slapping each of you upside the head.
“Cubby wanted a beer.” David replied, shrugging his shoulders, keeping his head facing forward, trying his best not to laugh.
“Honey, seriously?!” Your mom scolded, looking at you with disgust.
“I did not! I was trying to find these two idiots!” You groaned, eying your brothers as they shook you back and forth between them in their grasp. “I hate you both, I hope you know that.”
“We love you too, Cubby.” Charlie smirked, knowing that for as much as you said it, there wasn’t a bone in your body that could hate your brothers. For as dumb and annoying as they were, there would never be another moment you would take for granted with them, knowing all too well that life was much too short to do anything but cherish your time together, wishing you had more time to spend with the brother who couldn’t be here with you today.
Before you could respond, your thought was interrupted by the voice of the DJ through the speakers set up outside, your heart steadily beginning to pound at the reality that everything you had been waiting for was all about to become real.
“Alright, ladies and gentlemen if you could please find your seats, we’re about to get started with our ceremony! Thank you so much, folks!” As his voice echoed through the speakers, a hush began to fall over the crowd of your friends and family that had gathered here, now anxiously alongside you for the ceremony to begin.
A few seconds passed before you could hear the music beginning to play, the familiar melody of “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac ringing through the speakers- an easily unanimous pick for a song to walk down the aisle to for you and Javi, remembering the first night you had spent together in your apartment, making midnight mac n’ cheese and already falling head over heels in love with each other.
As the beat began to pick up, your heart started to race, peaking over the backs of everyone’s heads to watch all 5 of your flower girls begin to skip down the aisle, throwing petals every which way around them as they moved.
You couldn’t help but laugh as all their little personalities shone through as they made their way to the altar- Olivia Murphy, being the oldest, most definitely was taking her role the most seriously, holding her baby sister in one hand and carefully sprinkling flowers evenly in front of her. Your niece, Olivia, was second in line to live up to her role, although, being the little ham she was, threw in the occasional twirl in the middle of the aisle to get people to look at her, along with her little waves to the crowd. The rest of the girls, Brianna, Abby and Madison, well, you were just happy that they made it down the aisle, thankful that their older sisters were at least on the lookout enough to keep them from running through the rows of your guests or dumping the entire bucket of flowers on themselves (you had learned your lesson from your rehearsal dinner that Brianna needed about half as less flowers as the others).
Your face lit up watching the girls, your heart filling with joy with the “awhs” and laughter from the crowd at their theatrics as they met at the altar with an impressively semi-rehearsed curtsy, followed by promptly running out of the spotlight and over to Connie who was waiting for them.
Now that the flower girls had finished making their way down, the processional line began to shift forward once again, this time, leaving Javi and his dad to walk down together, Javi insisting that even though his mom would have been the one to walk him down if she was here, that wanted Chucho to be there in her place instead.
“Ready, Mijo?” Chucho grinned, giving Javi a little nudge. “Am I going to have to keep you from sprinting down the aisle, or do you think you can manage walking?”
As the pair began walking down to the melodic beat of the song, Javi couldn’t help but laugh at his dad’s comment, because as much as he wanted to tease him right back, he knew damn well he was so excited that he would have run to the altar if it meant he got to marry you even a minute quicker.
“Javier?” Chucho asked, looking up at his son with tears in his eyes as the pair moved down the parted pathway between the crowd of guests.
“Yeah, Pops?”
“Estoy orgulloso de ti, mijo. Tu mama y yo. (I am so proud of you, son. Me and your mother.) We are so happy that you have found your media naranja (other half). Nosotros te amamos. (We love you so much.)”
As Javi and Chucho reached the end of the aisle, Javi wrapped his arms around his dad, pulling him close as Chucho patted him on the back, pulling away to look at his son, tears now in both of their eyes, thinking about how far they had come to end up where they were in this very moment, thanking whatever greater power that had finally brought them and Lucia the peace they all desperately deserved.
Javier Pena knew he was worthy of the love and happiness that his parents had longed for. He had finally proved to himself and his parents he really was the good man that he had hoped to be.
“I love you, Pops. Thank you for everything.” Javi whispered to his dad, trying to fight back any more tears from falling down his cheeks.
“Te amo mucho, Javier. (I love you so much, Javier). Thank you for finally realizing that who you are is enough. Now, stop crying over your old man and save some tears for your wife.” Chucho laughed quietly, giving his son another pat on the back with a soft smile wrinkling his cheeks.
“Yeah, I don’t think you’re gonna have to worry about that.” Javi chuckled, shaking his head at the tearful mess he already was, giving his father one last hug before Chucho took his seat next to Connie and the flower girls at the front of the crowd.
Steve was the next to make his way to the altar, Javi laughing at his friend’s goofy strut to greet him at the end of the aisle. Steve held out his hand to shake Javi’s before quickly pulling Javi in for another hug with pats to the back much harder than his fathers.
“Listen, man. I ain’t good at this sentimental shit, but uh- I’m really fuckin’ happy for you, Javi. I know I give you shit, but you’re one of the good ones. She’s a lucky girl. And I hope you know you’re sure as hell one lucky son of a bitch. Love you, man.”
“Love you too, Murph. Believe me, I know.” Javi grinned, giving Steve a slap on his shoulder laughing to himself as his friend sat down next to his wife and the girls, never imagining himself standing at the altar, happily waiting to get married while his former partner cheered him on, surrounded by his gaggle of giggly daughters.
Feeling worlds away from Javi, your heart began to beat faster and faster, realizing that you were now only one pair away from making your trek down the aisle as your mom and dad walked down next, arm in arm.
In classic mom fashion, your mother squeezed Javi so hard as she greeted him, that you were convinced that she was going to pop an eyeball out one of his sockets, thankful that your dad was there to reel her in enough to keep from suffocating him in her hug.
“Javi. We love you so much. Thank you for making our daughter so happy. We’re so grateful she found you.”
“Thank you. I love you both, too. Believe me, I’m just as grateful that she found me. Thanks for making me feel like a part of your family.” Javi replied to your mom, catching his breath through his smile after the death grip your mom had wrapped him in before looking over at your dad, extending his hand to meet his already outstretched one.
“Jav, you’re a good man. I’m a guy of few words, but we couldn’t be happier for you both. Take care of her, okay?”
“I will. I promise.”
With a silent handshake and a nod, Javi and your dad had said all they’d needed to know that they couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support the other had brought you in the times that you had needed it most.
As your parents made their way to their seats, standing at the opposite end of the aisle with your brothers at your side, the realization really hit you- You were the last one that needed to meet Javi.
“You ready, Cubby?” Charlie asked, giving you a grin as he smiled down at you, interlocking your arm with his as David did the same on the other side.
“Yeah, I’m ready. Hey, uh- I just, I just wanted to say, I-I love you guys.”
“Gross.” David teased, scrunching his face in disgust, pretending to barf over his shoulder as you and Charlie laughed, shaking your head at your brother. “We love you too, dude.”
With one final giggle and deep breath, you took your first step into view where everyone could see you, watching the guests rise to their feet in anticipation of your arrival, awestruck stares and smiles filling the crowd as you began to walk.
Even though you had seen each other minutes ago, as you started to make your way down the aisle, smiling at Javi, the two of you couldn’t help but break into tears once again, laughing through your sobs that Javi broke before you did, trying to wipe his wet cheeks with the back of his hand while he watched you walk towards him.
And even though every pair of eyes were on you, the only eyes you needed to see were Javi’s- The sweet, soft brown eyes that you had fallen so deeply in love with from the moment you had locked eyes with them all that time ago. They were the eyes of the first person who had ever truly seen you for who you were, inside and out, and you couldn’t be more thankful that when you looked at him, you saw your forever. When you looked at Javier Pena, you knew you were home.
It almost felt as if time was standing still, that even in a crowd full of people, no one else existed besides the two of you. No one else mattered, and nothing else mattered- the only thing that mattered for you was Javi waiting for you at the end of the aisle, and you? You were going to finally be his wife.
“You two are so in love, it’s fucking sick.” David whispered in your ear, helping to ease your tears as you burst into more laughter, rolling your eyes at your brother.
“Oh shut up, asshole.”
As you, David and Charlie finally made your way to Javi, waiting for you in a mess of happy smiles and loving tears, you had to use everything in you to keep from jumping onto him like a koala and kiss him all over his stupidly handsome face, resorting to reaching out to grab his hand instead, interlocking it with yours and giving it the tightest squeeze you could.
“Hey, Mr. Peña. Long time, no see.” You whispered into Javi’s ear, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before took his other hand in yours, the two of you facing each other in front of your friends and family as David and Charlie took their place behind you, pulling out their notes that they had prepared, clearing their throats as they began to address the crowd.
“Alright everyone, I uh- I guess we’re gettin’ this show on the road.” Speaking out into the crowd, Charlie began to flip to the right page of his script that you were relieved to see he had written out, your guests beginning to silence and bringing their attention to you and Javi.
“Hi everyone, for those of you who don’t know us, we are the bride’s brothers, and we have the honor of our sister and our new brother-in-law being stupid enough to let us be in charge of marrying them today. Not to worry, 20 dollars and one course on the internet later, David and I are both legally ordained, so not to fear you two, this will all be legit, and hopefully not too embarrassing.” Charlie laughed, also eliciting giggles and eye rolls from you and Javi, as well as the crowd.
“Well, we are gathered here today, because these two idiots have fallen so head over heels for each other, it's almost sickening. We’ve had the privilege of knowing our sister for the entirety of our lives. When we found out as kids that our mom was having another baby, and that it was going to be a girl, my brothers and I were disappointed, to say the least. We didn’t want a sister to ruin the bond that we had, and honestly, for a long time while my mom was pregnant, we went through a long baby boycott, and were convinced if we protested long enough, and hard enough, she would eventually turn into a boy, and everything would be fine.” David grimaced, shrugging his shoulders at you as you nodded in agreement, having heard this story from your brothers and parents plenty of times before.
“And while at first, we weren’t really sure what to do with a sister, considering we didn’t even realize it was an option to pee sitting down until she came around,” Charlie snickered, making the crowd laugh again, aside from your mom, who was rolling her eyes so hard, they probably had made it to the back of her head, “Our sister ended up being one of the best things that could have ever happened to us.”
Breaking your eye contact with Javi, you paused to look over at your brother, a genuine smile on his face, raising his eyebrows and shrugging as if to say I’m just as surprised that I’m saying this out loud as you.
“Growing up with our sister has taught us a lot of things- Don’t challenge her to anything you don’t wanna lose at, because she’ll find a way to beat you, and thoroughly kick your ass while she does it, she’s got more brain cells that myself, Charlie, and our late brother Patrick did put together, she’s tougher than most guys I know, and she’s one of the biggest hearted people I’ve ever met.” Looking back at Javi, you could see his face beaming with joy, giving your hand a squeeze, agreeing with everything your brothers had to say, and how all of those traits had made him fall so madly in love with you.
“So, like brothers do, we never assumed that there would never be anyone good enough, let alone even cool enough for our badass sister. And also like brothers do, we let her go through her fair share of duds and gave her shit, but when this guy came around,” Charlie smiled, pointing at Javi, “we knew that he was something special.”
“Javi,” David joined in pointing, giving him a playful smirk, “Don’t think you were getting out of this so easy. When we first heard that our sister had made her way down to the middle of nowhere Texas and had started seeing you, our first reaction was instant disapproval, because if you lived in south Texas, you probably knew jackshit about hockey, and that was a no go for us.”
“But,” Charlie interjected, “After talking to our sister more on the phone, not only was she starting to turn into the happy, energetic self we hadn’t seen in so long, we also learned after talking to her that you not only had been willing to watch hockey with her, but had began to openly express your disdain for the Detroit Red Wings, which made us change our opinions on you very quickly.”
You and Javi looked at your brothers, rolling your eyes in laughter as they shrugged at you, the roar of cackles from the crowd making you grin, feeling the love from your brothers, friends and family swell in your chest, holding Javi’s hands even tighter, gazing up at him with an awestruck smile.
“No in all seriousness, Jav. We couldn’t be happier that you not only have become a part of our sister’s life, but our family’s life, too. For those of you who don’t know, we um- we, uh-,” David gulped, taking a deep breath, trying to hold back the tears welling in his eyes, “our other brother, Patrick, um, passed away last year, and it uh, it was really hard on all of us, especially our sister. Javi, man, I don’t think you’ll ever understand how thankful we are that you love our sister so unconditionally. Better yet, that you love our family of idiots so unconditionally, because truth be told, we are not an easy bunch to love. While obviously, you can’t ever replace Patrick, I just, I hope you know that we’re so glad to have you as a brother, and that Patrick really would have loved you, man. He would be so happy that you’re the one our sister gets to spend the rest of her life with.”
For what felt like the 117th time today, you found yourself in absolute tears, feeling the wetness streaming down your cheeks as you looked down at the #2 patch sewn on the bottom corner of your veil in a beautiful mixture of sadness and joy before looking up to see not a dry eye in front of you, both your brothers and Javi misty eyed and sniffling. Breaking his grasp from yours, Javi stepped towards your brothers, wrapping his arms around both of them to pull them into a long, tight hug, Charlie and David reciprocating as their arms patted his back.
“Thank you guys.” Javi whispered, choking back his tears as he pulled away to look at your brothers, all of you wiping your wet faces with your hands to try and compose yourselves to carry on with the ceremony.
“Damn, okay, well, sorry about that, folks, was not expecting that.” Charlie and David laughed, trying to shake off their unusually sappy sentiment, looking out at the crowd to see not a dry eye in the house. “Well um, well that’s enough of us yapping at you guys, why don’t we turn it over to the people you’re actually here for, and then you can cry even more because these two idiots decided to write their own vows, so good luck.”
Staring up at Javi, you could feel your heart begin to race wildly, your hands nearly trembling as you reached out towards Javi to take the little notebook where you had written down your vows, feeling a little more at ease as you saw that Javi’s hands were just as shaky as yours, the two of you overflowing with anxious anticipation.
It had been no question to either of you that you had wanted to write your own vows to one another. While it seemed to be that everyone else you knew had seemed to avoid writing their own vows because they weren’t sure what to say, or that it was too hard to think of things, you and Javi seemed to find yourselves having the opposite problem, feeling like there was too much to fit in a few short minutes, and that your vows were going to end up being the length of a college lecture.
There had been a part of you that had worried you would be nervous to read what you had to say to Javi in front of all your friends and family, but as you stood there, smiling up at his beautiful, handsome face, you couldn’t be more excited to share all of the things you had written to tell your husband just how much you loved him.
But as the two of you stood face to face, your vows in each of your hands, your stomach dropped in shock, realizing that neither of you was making the first move to start talking. Because for all the planning and preparing that you had done for everything else, the both of you had completely forgotten to pick who was going to read their vows first.
“We never picked who was gonna go first.” You whispered to Javi, your voice filling with nerves every second you stood in front of your guests, neither one of you saying anything.
“Oh fuck, you’re right. What do you wanna do? Do you wanna go? Do you want me to go?” Javi asked, his face mirroring yours in surprise, now frantically looking back and forth between you, his vows, and all of your guests.
You weren’t sure if it was the teacher in you, or the fact that you were so flustered that you couldn’t think of anything else, but before you knew it, you were tucking your vows under your arm, holding one hand out in front of you flat and the other in a fist, signifying to Javi that your best solution to your current predicament was playing rock, paper, scissors.
“Best 2 out of 3?” You shrugged, grimacing at Javi as you tried not to burst into laughter, Javi shaking his head and snickering, raising an eyebrow at you.
“You’re ridiculous, I hope you know that. Do you wanna go after ‘rock’ or say ‘shoot’, then go?” Javi asked, loud enough for your guests to catch on to what was happening, giggles and laughter coming from the crowd.
“What kind of psychopath doesn’t say ‘shoot’ first? Javier Peña, are you telling me that we need to call off this wedding right now because you don’t say ‘shoot’ before playing rock, paper, scissors? Because I will.”
Everyone around you was now in full blown hysterics, including Javi, giving you the sassiest look he could muster through his laughter, holding his hands out to mirror yours.
“So ‘for better or for worse’ doesn’t apply to rock, paper, scissors, apparently?” He teased, smirking at you with a subtle wink as he bit down on his lip.
“Not if you’re gonna play like that it won’t.”
“Pendejo.”
“You love me.”
“I really fucking do.”
Giggling as you gestured at your outstretched fist, you began to countdown from your “rock, paper, scissors, adding an extra emphasis on ‘shoot’ as you held out rock and Javi held out scissors. With another laugh, the two of you started again, this time, you with paper and Javi with rock, smirking as you crossed your arms over your chest at Javi, the rest of your guests laughing right along with you.
“Winner, winner, chicken dinner, Javier Peña. You’re stuck going second.”
“Go for it, you dork.”
As the laughter from the crowd settled, you opened your vows book, taking a deep breath as you stared up at Javi, who, despite your silliness, still had tears beginning to well in his puppy dog brown eyes before you could even say your first word. You took one last gulp of confidence, wondering how in the world you were supposed to make it through even a sentence through your speech without falling apart.
“I never used to believe in fate. People would always tell me that ‘some things are just meant to be!’ or ‘it was just fate it happened like that!’ and no matter how hard I tried to believe, fate just never made sense to me. Well, that was until about a year ago, when fate decided to bump right into me when I least expected it.” You could feel your voice already beginning to shake, huffing in a quick sniffle before continuing on.
“As fate may have it, I quite literally bumped into you when you were forced to come give a presentation to a group of rowdy 8 and 9 year olds. Thank god fate also was on my side that day- that I actually looked halfway presentable and wasn’t covered in spilled chocolate milk, glue, or the snot of whatever kid had sneezed a little too close to me that morning.” That one had the better part of the crowd letting out a laugh alongside Javi, easing your stress and tension about your speech while you carried on, reading the notes jotted in your booklet.
“When I first came to Laredo, I wasn’t really quite sure what I was looking for. After my brother died and decided I needed to be as far away from Chicago as possible, there wasn’t ever really a doubt in my mind that here was the only place I really wanted to be. I spent the better half of my middle school and high school vacations here, visiting my best friend who had moved away. To me, Laredo was always a place that brought me such peace and comfort. I’m not really sure why, but there was always something about being here for those few weeks every year that made it feel like home, even when home was halfway across the country. But what I didn’t realize, was that in my attempt to find a new home for myself, I began to learn that home wasn’t a physical location, or a place you could travel to. After meeting you, Javier Peña, I found out that home was wherever I was with you.”
Taking a shaky breath, you looked up from your vows to see sweet Javi, covering his mouth, as if he was trying to trap his tears to keep from completely breaking down at your words, his reaction only making you cry harder, trying your best to re-compose yourself before speaking again.
“I spent so long wondering if I would ever find someone who would ever make me feel the way that you do- to love me for all of my flaws, to make me feel important, and even laugh at all of my stupid jokes that probably don’t deserve to be laughed at, but you love me enough to do it anyways. Now that’s true love.” You smirked, raising your eyebrow at Javi, making the two of you snicker between your tears. “You make me feel like the only person in the world whenever I’m with you. The only person who knows me better than I know myself. You are truly one of the most thoughtful and caring people that I have ever met. And while I could list off a million adjectives to describe all of the reasons I fell in love with you- smart, brave, determined, handsome- just to name a few, out of all of those reasons, the one that made me fall for you the most was your big heart. And while I know you’ll never believe me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to get you to see the same amazing man I fall more and more in love with every single day.”
At this point, there was not a dry eye in the crowd, watching how emotional you and Javi were as you tried to choke your way through the rest of your vows.
“I will never know what I did to deserve you in my life, but promise that I will spend the rest of it letting you know how forever thankful I will always be that out of all the people in the world you could have chosen to bump into, that it was me. I am so excited that the rest of my life, all of the moments, big, small, and everything in between, will all be moments spent with you. That every moment will be spent with my best friend. I never would have thought that a little bit of fate would have become my forever, but I’ll always be so grateful that it is. I love you so much, Javier Peña. Thanks for being the reason I finally believe in fate.”
Wiping away the wetness streaming down your cheeks, you could barely even look at Javi, who was an absolute blubbering mess, laughing through your tears almost to keep you from completely melting into a puddle.
Reaching out to grab him, you took Javi’s hand in yours, squeezing it reassuringly as you took your other hand up to wipe the tears streaming down his cheeks, the both of you smiling as you looked into each other's eyes.
“And that’s why I wanted to go first. Good luck.” You chuckled, making Javi shake his head as he laughed along with you, taking another deep breath before flipping open his own vows, wondering how in the world he was ever going to make it through speaking, considering how easily he had fallen apart just listening to you.
“Jesus Christ, well I don’t know how I’m really supposed to follow that.” Javi sighed, the crowd giggling at his remark as he opened up to his first page, staring at his words for a moment before looking back up at you, his deep, chocolate, puppy dog eyes melting you just as quickly as the first time that you locked eyes with him.
“I’ve uh- I’ve never really been great speeches. When I sat down to write this, I wasn’t really sure where to start. I had no idea how I was supposed to fit all of the things that I wanted to say into all of this.” Javi huffed with a little shrug, gesturing to his notebook.
“So I um- I figured if there’s anywhere I should start, it should probably be at the beginning. My mom was an elementary school teacher, so growing up, I spent a lot of time at Alma Pierce Elementary School. I swear, I knew that place like the back of my hand. But um, after my mom got sick and passed away, I really never thought I’d ever have a reason to back. Until one day last year, I was told to pack up my stuff to go give a presentation at a local elementary school, which turned out to be none other than Alma Pierce. My mom always used to say “La vida es graciosa, no lo crees?” (Life is funny, isn’t it?), and I never quite understood why. But as I walked back into the place where I had spent so much of my life just out of chance, I swear I could hear her laughing at me, saying “Te lo dije.” (I told you so).”
You could hear everyone who had had the privilege of knowing Lucia letting out a soft laugh, thinking of all of the times they must have heard her say that all too familiar phrase throughout their time knowing her.
“I had gotten to a point in my life that I had kind of just accepted that maybe this kind of life wasn’t in the cards for me. I wasn’t gonna get married or have a family, and as much as it hurt, I had learned to be okay with it. The last thing I would have thought would have happened to me after leaving the presentation I had to give that day was that I was already head over heels in love with the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my entire life, but la vida es graciosa, no le crees?”
Giving you a little smirk, Javi could help but let a smile slowly spread between his cheeks as he looked at you, gazing up at him in complete and utter adoration, your goofy grin mirroring his.
“Never in a million years would I have thought that I would have been standing here today, getting married to you. If you would have told me that I got to marry the most beautiful, amazing, kind, and stubbornly independent woman on the face of this earth, I would have laughed in your face. I honestly still feel like I need to pinch myself to prove that this is even real. But I guess that even if this is all a dream, I don’t ever want to wake up. Being loved by you has changed me in a way that I will never be able to thank you enough for. Being loved by you has made me a better man than I ever believed that I could be. A better man than I ever thought I deserved to be. A man who has learned to love and believe in love in ways I didn’t think I was capable of. I will never be able to thank you enough for letting me into your life and loving me for who I am, and for wanting to spend the rest of it with me.”
Now, it was your turn to morph into an inconsolable mess, reaching out to grab Javi’s hand again, silently reassuring him that you were equally as grateful for the fact that Javi had let you into his life, too.
“And no matter how tough, or challenging, or funny life gets, I know it can never really be that bad, because I’ll always have you by my side through it all. I think my mamá would be so proud to know I finally understand what she was trying to say all those years about life being so funny. Because it seems like life has a funny way of giving you everything you’ve ever wanted. Te amo, Osita. Gracias por ser mi todo. (I love you, Osita. Thank you for being my everything).”
Without even thinking, you threw your arms around Javi’s shoulders wrapping him in a long, tight hug, sobbing into his jacket in a fit of happy tears, Javi hugging you right back, squeezing around your waist, gently cradling the back of your head in the warmth of your embrace.
“Well shit… Alright, well I’m not sure if you guys are allowed to do that, but after those vows, I think we can let it slide.” David joked, trying to quickly wipe his eyes, nudging Charlie to do the same to try and pull themselves together to make sure they could finish out the rest of the ceremony.
“Fuck, sorry.” Javi whispered, reluctantly pulling away from you, everyone in the crowd following your brothers’ suite, smiling as they brushed away the wetness welling in their own eyes from listening to your vows.
“Well, I’d ask if anyone needs to object before we continue, but I think it’s pretty darn clear that these two idiots love each other more than life itself, so I’m just gonna skip that part.” Charlie joked, making you and Javi smirk in agreement. “Alright Miss Olivia, it’s your time to shine, do you have the rings?” He asked, your niece’s face lighting up in excitement as she nodded her head frantically, shooting up out of her seat to dash towards the two of you, carefully holding the ring box like a newborn baby bird in her hands.
Daintily, she passed the box off to her dad before scampering over to both you and Javi, wrapping her arms around your waists to pull you close in a hug, smiling up at each of you with her toothy, goofy grin.
“I love you Auntie Bear and Uncle Javi.” Olivia beamed, giggling in pure bliss and joy before skipping back to her seat among the guests, the both of your hearts bursting at the seams with the chores of “awhhhhs” coming from the crowd for your adorable niece.
“Someone’s trying to get an extra slice of cake tonight huh, Miss Olivia?” David teased, your guests erupting with laughter at her not so innocent shrug to her Uncle’s question, knowing damn well she was just as much of a ham as you. “I trusted the six year old to carry these, can I trust you two not to drop them, or do you need to cry some more first?”
“Oh shut up, David.” You sighed, rolling your eyes at your brother as you and Javi each took the rings to give one another, carefully holding the shiny gold bands in your hands, counting down the moments until you finally got to say “I do”.
“Alright, ladies first, so I guess that means you, Cubby. You ready?”
“I don’t think I’ve ever been more ready for anything, you dingus, get this show on the road.”
“Alright, here goes nothin’. This is the part I actually had to practice, so God forbid I mess this one up huh? Do you,” David giggled, saying your real name instead of the nicknames you had lovingly bestowed upon you for as long as you could remember, “Take Javi to be your husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
Carefully slipping the gold band onto Javi’s finger, you could feel your heart bursting in anticipation, biting down on your lip to try and contain your excitement, slowly pulling your hand away to let your brothers finish the second half of the exchange.
“And do you, Javier Peña, take our sister,” Charlie and David snickered again, having to say your full name for a second time, “to be your wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
Gently grabbing your palm and gliding the glistening ring onto your finger, Javi rubbed his thumb over the pair of bands nestled together, forever making a home on your hand, his eyes welling at the sight of the sign that you would always be his.
Intertwining your fingers together and hands clasped in front of you, you and Javi were radiating with joy, anxiously staring back and forth between each other and your brothers for them to finally say those magic words you had been waiting to hear since the moment you had met all that time ago.
“Well ladies and gentleman… by the power vested in us, the internet and the state of Texas, it’s our honor to introduce to you the new Mr. and Mrs. Peña.” Charlie grinned at you, trying not to burst into laughter at the near panicked look on your faces, not having heard the next set of words you were more than dying to hear.
“Well go on, you lovebirds, kiss already!” David snickered, shrugging at the pair of you with a grin on his face.
Before he could barely finish his sentence, Javi’s hands were cupping your face, palms cradling your jaw as he brought his mouth to yours, fireworks exploding in your stomach at the electric intensity of his kiss, so soft and tender, yet so desperate and needy, like it was the first time his lips had ever met yours, and that he never, ever wanted to let them go.
Your hands shot up to grab his face too, a smile creeping across your mouth with your lips still pressed to his as Javi dipped you down, sliding his hand down the small of your back to hold you before pulling you back up, his lips still locked on yours like glue.
In that moment, it seemed like time stood still, that nothing else in the world existed besides the two of you- nothing else mattered besides the fact that you were here, kissing the man that you loved more than anything in the world.
The man that you finally got to call your husband.
Over the cheers, whistling, and hollering from your friends and family, the both of you were finally snapped back to reality as David gave you a little nudge and a look that screamed “gross, save it for the honeymoon.”
Reluctantly breaking from your kiss, you grabbed Javi’s hand in yours, holding your fists in the air and cheering in excitement right alongside your guests before heading back up the aisle, your cheeks hurting from how hard they were smiling. So lost in your excitement, you turned your head as you felt Javi stop, tugging you back to the middle of the aisle, smirking as he pulled you close to his chest, whispering in your ear.
“Not so fast, Mrs. Peña. C’mere.” Grabbing your face and wrapping his arm around your waist, Javi was kissing you again, swinging you down in another dip that had you erupting in giggles and your guests cheering even louder, Javi’s smooth moves soliciting a loud “OW OW” most definitely from Steve.
“God, I love you.” You smirked as Javi pulled you back up to stand before the two of you were nearly skipping down the rest of the aisle in bliss, racing to the back of the crowd where you had entered the ceremony, turning the corner behind the house where no one could see you, not even bothering to look over your shoulder to see who’d followed you before your lips were crashing into each others again.
This one was nowhere near as tame as the kisses you had just shared moments ago- this kiss was a tangled mess of tongues and teeth, Javi’s hands creeping dangerously close to the curve of your ass as you tugged at the lapels of his suit jacket, your mouths moving in a messy dance as you whispered muffled and muted words between your kisses.
“Fuck, my beautiful wife. God, I’m so fucking lucky. I love you so much.”
“I love you so much too, Javi, I’m so-”
“Jesus Christ, it’s been 30 seconds and y’all can’t keep your hands to yourselves? C’mon, now. Y’all gotta whole week and a half to do this without having to subject the rest of us to it, Mr. and Mrs. Peña.” Steve laughed, making the both of you gasp as he slapped Javi on the back, immediately making your cheeks flush pink in embarrassment and Javi groan in annoyance at his best man’s timely (or untimely) disruption.
“Steve, c’mon like you didn’t have your hands all over me after we got married.” Connie sighed, now smacking the back of her own husband’s head, making him wince in pain. “Congratulations, you two. We’re so happy for you.”
“Thanks, Connie.” You and Javi smiled, Javi still keeping his hand wrapped around your waist as the rest of your wedding party started making their way back up the aisle to greet you, too.
“Also having gotten married before, you’re gonna thank me later as I make you go find your brothers to sign your marriage license somewhere that has a little peace and quiet before you get none the rest of the night. Why don’t you guys head inside and I’ll cover for you for a little, okay?”
“You’re the best, Connie, thanks.” Javi grinned, pulling you away towards the house, quietly sneaking in through the front door to wait for your brothers, Javi looking both ways around the seemingly empty house before pulling you close again.
“Javi, Charlie and David are gonna be in here any minute, and they’re gonna give us just as much shit as Steve, if not more.” You giggled, gazing up into Javi’s eyes, still awestruck and giddy.
“I know. Just one more kiss, mi esposa (my wife).” Javi smirked, tilting his head down to press his lips to yours, his thumb tracing soft circles on your cheek as the rest of his fingers cradled your jaw, tilting your eyes up towards him. “Fuck, you’re finally my wife. I don’t think I’ll ever get over that.”
“Good thing we have the rest of our lives to get used to it, huh?”
People weren’t kidding when they said that your wedding would be a blur- From the moment the ceremony ended, it felt like everything was moving in fast and slow motion at the same time, being pulled in every direction to talk with family members, take pictures, and make sure that things were running smoothly. As much as you and Javi were both trying to soak in every moment of your special day together, it was safe to say the two of you were feeling a little overwhelmed by the time you had gotten to dinner, and couldn’t have been more thankful to have a moment to finally sit down.
More importantly, you were so glad that you had gotten to the point where you had a drink, some delicious food in your stomach, and the best part of the night ahead of you- dancing.
The sun was beginning to set on the horizon of the Peña ranch as dinner was coming to a close, the clanging of forks and knives against dinner plates slowly shifting to chatter and conversation that was filling the space of the white tent that had been propped up in the backyard for your reception.
You weren’t really sure what to expect when you had decided on a backyard wedding, but with the absolutely stunning work your mom, Connie, sister in law, and Javi’s aunt’s had put together for you, they had made a white tent feel like something out of a fairytale. String lights and greenery were strung across above you, long tables decorated in candles and beautiful garlands of eucalypts, sprinkled white and pink roses from Lucia’s garden, along with cute, colorful vintage cups that the women had collected or thrifted for your guests to use. Everything about your setup felt magical, and with the sun sinking and fading into dusk, the glow and twinkles of the lights illuminating your space only made it feel that much more incredible.
As the two of you sat at your head table, bellies full and hearts happy, feeling a little tipsy from the extra strong margaritas Javi’s cousin seemed to be making, you were a little worried as what looked like a more than just tipsy Steve approached you, slapping a stack of index cards in front of you.
“Listen… I’m like the perfect level of drunk to give this best man speech. Any less drunk and I’ll be too fuckin’ nervous to do it, and any more drunk I’m not gonna be able to remember what I’m supposed to say. Y’all good to keep this movin’ so you can do your first dance and then we can get this party started?”
“Jesus Christ, Murph…” Javi sighed, laughing at his friend, now sassily crossing his arms over his chest at Javi. “This speech better be good.”
“It’s good, and Connie approved, so you know I won’t say any dumb shit. Well, not if we don’t start soon and I keep drinking more.” Steve paused, letting out a low burp, rubbing his stomach and grimacing at the two of you, snorting at him.
“Take it away, Shakespeare.” You smiled, gesturing your arm out to the dance floor in front of the guests sitting at their tables, chatting away. You couldn’t help but laugh as Steve confidently made his way to the front of the crowd, Connie silently mouthing “I’m so sorry” from across the room, pointing at her husband, now ready to take the stage.
“Hey y’all,” Steve started, bellowing his voice loud enough to catch everyone’s attention, making them pause their chit chat and focus their attention on him. “I’m Steve Murphy. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Javi’s best man. Normally it’s customary for a guy like me to come up and say a few words about the bride and groom, so lucky for y’all, I’m your guy tonight. You’re welcome, Jav.”
The crowd laughed as Javi sighed, rolling his eyes at Steve and shaking in his head in fear of what was to come, sliding your hand over to rest on his thigh, giving your now husband a little squeeze of reassurance to have some faith in his friend.
“I have had the pleasure of knowing Javi for a long time now. It’s been, what, 17 years now, Jav?” Steve asked, turning back to look for confirmation.
“It’s been too long.” Javi replied, shaking his head, his witty response only making your friends and family laugh more.
“Whatever, you grumpy old bastard. Anyways, I first met Javi when I found out that I would be his partner down in Colombia working for the DEA. Not gonna lie, when I first met him, while I’ve never admitted this until now, I was pretty intimidated by the guy. He was cool, smart, respected, even though his jeans were way too fuckin’ tight.” Steve teased, winking at Javi, making you snicker from the few pictures you had seen from back in the day when Javi was in Colombia, knowing exactly what Steve meant.
“I’ll spare you all the details of our time down there, but through all of our trials and tribulations, despite our differences and disagreements, the one thing I always admired about Javi is that he really cared about what he did. No matter what, he always cared about trying to do the right thing for the people he cared most about. Now, believe me, if you would have asked me all those years ago if I would have ever pictured Javi here today, gettin’ married, buildin’ a house and talkin’ about startin’ a family? Well shit, I prolly woulda told you that you were bat shit crazy. But, if there’s anyone in the world who deserves every ounce of all that domestic, lovely dovey bliss, it’s this man right here.” Steve smiled softly, pointing back to Javi who couldn’t help but let his heart fill with warmth at the sentiment from his friend, your hand rubbing up and down Javi’s leg, his grasping over yours to hold it tight.
“Javi, I know you’ll never believe me when I tell you this, but I’m real proud of ya, man. And I hope you know how goddamn lucky you are that this beautiful woman has agreed to spend the rest of her life with your grumpy ass. Speaking of which…” Steve smirked, turing back to look at you with a goofy grin, making you raise an eyebrow at whatever stupid comment was bound to come out of his mouth.
“Mrs. Peña. I never thought I’d live to see the day Javi was so in love. When he called me a few weeks after the two of you first met, and was all jazzed and excited to tell me about this beautiful girl he had started datin’ and how happy he was, I just about damn near fell down. He never said it on that phone call, but I knew that this sorry shit was absolutely head over heels in love with you.”
That comment had you giggling at Javi’s blushing face, his cheeks turning pink at Steve’s story, even though he knew damn well it was the truth.
“I couldn’t think of anyone who would be more perfect for Javi if I tried. When I first met you and saw how sickeningly cute y’all were together, God’s honest truth, my first question I asked Javi was when he was plannin’ on buyin’ a ring. Glad to see that sometimes he’ll take my advice. Sweetheart, I can’t thank you enough for being so good to my best friend right there. I hope he knows how lucky he is to have someone like you.”
Grabbing your hand, Javi interlocked his fingers with your underneath the table, softly smiling at you and gently nodding his head in agreement.
“I also need to thank you that he’s finally got someone else to worry about him instead of me. One less thing off my back. No offense, Jav. Alright, well, y’all have probably heard enough of me yappin’, and y’all are anything like me, you’re ready for more drinkin’ and dancin’. To Mr. and Mrs. Peña-” Steve paused, grabbing the nearest drink he could find and raising it up in the air, prompting the rest of your guests to do the same. “Wishin’ you two lovebirds a lifetime of happiness. I love you guys. Cheers!”
Over the applause and cheerful shouting, Steve rushed his way back over to the two of you, slotting himself in between your seats so his head poked out between yours, wrapping his arms around both your shoulders and pulling you in for a hug.
“Nice work, Murph.” Javi smiled, patting Steve on the back, laughing to himself at how genuinely thoughtful Steve’s speech had turned out to be.
“Thanks, Steve. Your speech was really great. How much did Connie have to edit out?” You snickered, looking back between him and Javi.
“... Let’s just say I left out the part about y’all horny bastards needin’ to be better about lockin’ your doors when other people are around.” Steve chuckled, shaking both of you in his grap, You and Javi’s eyes sheepishly darting to the ground in embarrassment.
“Fuck off, Murph.”
“Love you too, Jav.”
With one last pat on the back for each of you, before you could say anything else, Steve was already halfway across the tent back to the bar to congratulate himself for getting through his speech without any major slip ups or major scoldings from Connie after he returned back to his table.
“Thank God for Connie.” You grimaced, laughing at Javi whose face was buried in his palm, shaking his head at his friend, wondering why he would expect any less from him. “...He’s not wrong, though.”
“I’m triple checking that I lock all the doors later so I don’t give him any more reasons to be right…” Javi sighed, giving you a little nudge while the hand that had been holding yours suddenly let go, resting on your thigh over your dress, giving it a long squeeze, making your heart race in anticipation, his eyes locking with yours, telling you everything you needed to know.
Some way, some how, Javi was going to find a way to fuck you before the night was done.
“Javi…” You whispered, heat creeping through your cheeks, trying your best to keep from blushing as you locked eyes with him, his devilish grin and lust pooling in the dark brown of his eyes entrancing you in a way that had butterflies swirling in your core and ache rapidly beginning to grow between your legs.
“Si, Mi esposa?” (Yes, my wife?), Javi smirked back, running his hand further up your thigh and closer to your core as his other hand came up to cup your face, thumb tracing back and forth across your skin, toying just enough to tug at the corner of your lip.
While you had gotten a little bit of alone time with Javi today, the way that the both of you had been absolutely insatiable for each other after seeing each other in your wedding attire, let alone the fact that you were now actually married? You and Javi were both dying to try and find a second to yourselves without interruption, especially from Steve.
So caught up in awe of each other, you and Javi hadn’t even noticed your DJ, standing next to your table, quietly clearing his throat to try and get your attention.
“Hey, uh- Mr. and Mrs. Peña?” He interjected, loud enough to finally snap you and Javi out of the horny stare down you had entered, “Are um- are you two ready for the first dance?”
“Oh, um- yeah, y-yeah, sorry about that.” Javi grumbled, the two of you quickly trying to snap out of the thick heat of sexual tension that had been growing between you, both readjusting yourselves in your seats as you looked up sheepishly at the DJ, “Sorry, what did you say?”
“I asked if you two were ready to do your first dance? If you um, if you need some more time I can-”
“No, we’re okay, thanks.” You grimaced, trying to keep from giggling and blushing as you looked over at Javi and then back at your DJ. “You ready to dance, Mr. Peña?”
“Never been more ready, Mrs. Peña.” Javi replied, grabbing your hand as the two of you stood up, out of your seats walking to the edge of the dance floor while your DJ headed back to his booth.
“Hello everyone! We’re going to get ready to start our first dance with the newlyweds, so if you could please direct your attention to the dance floor, we’re about to get started!”
Before you could even take a step out onto the floor, the cheering and clinking of knives against glasses was erupting amongst the crowd, Javi happily taking the opportunity to grab you by the waist and pull you in for a long, deep kiss, making you giggle against his lips still pressed to yours as he dipped you down, before pulling you back against his chest.
“Show off.” You snickered, raising an eyebrow at him as he finally pulled away from your kiss, staring down at you with a goofy grin.
“Better get used to it, Mrs. Peña. I’ve got the whole rest of our lives to keep showing you off.” Javi smirked, shooting you a wink before tugging you out into the center of the dance floor, patiently waiting for your song to start as you draped one arm around his neck, Javi snaked his hand around your waist, and the pair of your other hands joined clasped at your side.
It was then that the melodic violin entrance to “At Last” by Etta James began to play, Javi smiling down softly at your agreed upon choice for your first dance song after lots of debate and discussion the past few months.
At last
My love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
As the music began to play, you and Javi began to sway back and forth to the syrupy symphony of the song, your heart bursting and stomach filling with the same butterflies it had the first time you had met Javi all those months ago.
“I’m glad we picked this one.” Javi smiled, the two of you circling your way around the dance floor, eyes locked on each other.
“Me too. It always makes me think of making breakfast with you on the weekend and all the little moments I love with you.” You grinned back, letting go of Javi’s hand to drape both arms over his shoulder and around his neck.
“It makes me think of spilling that entire bowl of pancake batter all over Bear and then having to chase him around the house to get him in the tub.” Javi sighed, rolling his eyes as he laughed to himself, tightening his grip around your waist to pull you closer.
I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
“Me too. God, who would have thought that a year ago we’d be having our first dance at our wedding talking about spilling pancake batter all over our dog.” You giggled, leaning to rest your head against Javi’s chest.
“I did.”
Looking up at Javi, you could feel your cheeks warming, staring at his big brown eyes welling with tears, trying your best to now hold back the wetness pooling under your lashes.
“Osita, I swear, from the moment I saw you smile at me, I knew that you were the only woman in the world I ever wanted. I knew you were the one I wanted my forever with. I’ll never get over the fact that I’m the luckiest man alive. I love you so fucking much.” Javi choked back, letting one of his hands slide up your face, gently cupping your cheek as he tilted his head in for a soft kiss on your lips before pulling away for another one on your forehead.
You smiled, you smiled
Oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
As the song began to slow, the sweet melody winding down to its close, Javi lifted up his arm to let you twirl beneath him before spinning you back into his chest and wrapping his arm around your waist to catch you as he dipped you down again, your mouths meeting in a long, tender kiss, electricity sparking between your lips and butterflies swirling in your stomach.
For you are mine
At last
“I love you too, Javier Peña.”
Over the applause of your guests, you could hear an obnoxiously loud “OW OW” from the crowd, coming from a now even more intoxicated Steve, making you and Javi laugh at his reaction, swiftly followed by Connie’s sharp jab to his ribs to get him to settle down.
“Alright ladies and gents,” The DJ spoke over the rumble of voices at the dinner tables, “Let’s have one more big round of applause for our newlyweds!”
As the crowd began to clap again, and Steve, threatened by another blow to his side, cheering at an appropriate volume, the DJ spoke again with the announcement you had been patiently waiting for since the ceremony finished.
“Alright everyone, with our first dance done, it’s time for the best part of the night, the dance floor is officially open! Let’s party!”
As the blaring intro to “Jump Around” began to blast to your speakers, your friends and family rushed to the dance floor, you let out a squeal of surprise as Javi snatched you up around your middle, lifting you up to spin you around in a fit of giggles.
“Vamos a bilar, mi esposa.” (Let’s dance, wife)
The rest of the night was the best kind of celebration that you could have asked for- the joy of being surrounded by your friends and family, dancing the night away to your favorite songs, and drinking one too many margaritas with your husband was everything you could have asked for and more on your wedding night.
It was no shock to you that your family had no problem making absolute fools of themselves out on the dance floor, happily (and drunkenly) flailing along to every single song, although your brothers’ and Steve’s enthusiastic sing-along to “Baby Got Back” was impressive, to say the least.
And while you and Javi had expected your family to act a fool, what neither of you had expected was how excited Chucho was to bust out dance moves of his own, taking everyone by surprise as he joined all your co-workers and Javi’s co-workers (who had quickly become best friends on the dance floor), to shake his way through “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls, leaving you in hysterics, and Javi in stunned embarrassment at his dad’s antics.
As the evening began to creep later and later into the hours of the night, a very sleepy Olivia approached you and Javi on the dance floor, gently tugging at your dress and his pants for attention with puppy dog eyes plastered on her face that almost gave Javi’s a run for his money.
“Auntie Bear and Uncle Javi, can I pick a song? Pleaseeeeeee?” Olivia begged, pouting her bottom lip at the two of you, absolutely melting your hearts in an instant.
“Of course, mi amor.” Javi smiled, caving immediately as he crouched down to her level, her face lighting up in delight at her uncle’s response, coming close to whisper in his ear.
If you couldn’t have already been more in love with your husband, watching him listen intently to what your niece had to say, nodding in agreement before scoping her up to rest on his hip, you were practically in a puddle now.
“Me and Miss Olivia are gonna go make a song request.”
“But Auntie Bear, you have to let me dance with Uncle Javi first, okay?” Olivia quickly added, very adamantly.
“Of course, lil Miss. Have fun, you two.” You smirked as Javi and Olivia made their way over to the DJ, watching Olivia’s face light up instantly as the DJ agreed to her request, Javi carrying Olivia out to the middle of the dance floor and setting her down on the ground as the end of the song slowly began to fade into your niece’s song choice.
With her love for the movie, you shouldn’t have been surprised at all that her pick was “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from the Lion King Soundtrack, but even though you weren’t shocked at her choice, there was nothing that going to be able to prepare you for the gut wrenching cuteness that was your now husband, dancing with your niece.
It had already gotten to the point in the night that Javi’s suit jacket and tie were long gone, 3 buttons undone and sleeves rolled up to his forearms, and the once neat curls of his dark hair now messily sweeping his forehead from your night of dancing, and if the sight of just how goddamn handsome Javi looked, on top of the fact he was now officially your husband, paired with the sight of him slow dancing to the Lion King with Olivia?
Your ovaries were just about shot to hell.
As the song played and Javi and Oliva spun around the dance floor in a fit of smiles and giggles, you couldn’t help but wish with every bone in your body that it was your daughter that Javi was dancing with, nearly falling to your knees the thought of making him a dad, on top of being your husband. And if that wasn’t enough, the two of you were finally married, and that meant half of your bargain to start trying for kids was complete- and with the other half being your house finally finishing with construction which was almost close to being done as well, you were so close to start trying for a baby of your own, you could almost taste it.
And that? That drove you crazy enough to feel like you were going to combust.
So stuck in your daydream, you didn’t even notice Olivia running up to you, now tugging at your dress again, letting out a little sleepy yawn as she tried to get your attention.
“Okay Auntie Bear, you can dance with Uncle Javi now. Thanks for letting me pick a song.” Olivia smiled as you sunk down to meet her, wrapping her in a hug.
“Of course, Olivia. Thank you for being the best flower girl today. I love you, cutie patootie. Alright, I’m gonna go dance with Uncle Javi now, okay?”
“I love you too, Auntie Bear. I think Uncle Javi misses you, he wouldn’t stop looking at you the whole time we were dancing. I think he wants to kiss you again, but that’s gross. Yuck.” Oliva grimaced, making you giggle as she stuck out her tongue before watching her scamper away back to her sisters and the Murphy girls to dance some more.
As you turned back, bracing yourself to stand back up, you were greeted with Javi’s large palm held out in front of you, pulling you up to greet his handsome grin while you looked up at him.
“I’ve been told I have permission to come dance with you now.”
“It did take some persuading, I told her I’d save an extra piece of cake for her if she let me go dance with you.” Javi chuckled, pulling you back out onto the dance floor, slowly swaying back and forth to the beat.
“Watching you two out there is dangerous.” You smirked, raising an eyebrow at Javi as he cocked his head in confusion.
“What do you mean, hermosa?”
“I mean,” You paused, standing up a little bit taller, throwing one arm over Javi’s shoulder, running your hand through the hairs at the nape of his neck to whisper in his ear, “Watching the two of you made me think about how much I wanna make you a dad. And now that we’re married and the house is almost done, we actually get to start trying soon.”
It took everything in Javi not to let out an audible moan, letting out a gulp and scrunching his eyes shut for a moment to try and maintain his composure at what you had just said to him, his grip around your waist immediately tightening and eyes darkening as he opened them, staring down at you, absolutely awestruck.
“Fuck me.” He muttered to himself, almost shaking his head in disbelief that after all of the time you had spent talking about wanting kids and nights you’ve had wishing there hadn’t been any birth control to keep you from having them were now an almost tangible reality, “Is that what you want, mi esposa? My wife wants me to give her a baby?”
Javi’s voice rasped in your ear, sending shivers down your spine, your stomach flipping in arousal at the hot breath of his words against your skin, knowing what had started as a sweet and simple moment of Javi dancing with Olivia had quickly shifted into a desperate want, no, need, for him to give you what you were asking for.
As the music slowly faded into the next song, bodies shuffling and dancing to the more upbeat tune that had followed Olivia’s choice, the both of your figures stood frozen on the dance floor in a silent exchange of racing hearts and yearning glances before Javi took your hand in his.
“Follow me.”
In an instant, Javi was tugging you across the dance floor, the two of you dodging and weaving your way through your guests with polite smiles and happy waves, doing everything you could to try and sneak away as discreetly as possible in hopes that everyone would be too preoccupied (or too drunk) to realize that you were gone.
But at this point, you really didn’t care whether anyone noticed if you were gone or not. Truth be told, the only thing you cared about was finally getting to fuck your husband.
Finally making it through the worst of the maze of people, you and Javi had made your way to the back porch, quietly peeking your heads through the door, checking to make sure the coast was clear before hastily slipping inside, gently shutting the door behind you before sneaking down the hall to Javi’s room, thanking whatever higher power had let the two of you get to his bedroom in peace.
From the moment Javi had shut the door behind him, you were all over each other in an instant, hands roaming across each other’s bodies as you stumbled until the back of your legs hit the mattress, flopping down onto the bed, Javi’s body caging yours in his frame. Your lips crashed together in a hungry clash, tongues, teeth and moans melting together between your mouths as Javi hiked up the skirt of your dress, running his hands along your thighs, squeezing the soft flesh in his firm grasp before his fingers crept towards your aching core, ghosting over the white, lacy fabric covering your cunt, already soaking with arousal.
“Fuck, you’re so wet, hermosa. My wife’s pretty little pussy all wet for me, huh?” Javi rasped, the pads of his fingers pressing more pressure over your covered clit, making you whimper in delight.
“It’s all yours, Javi. Yours forever, baby.” You moaned, your breath hitching in the back of your throat as Javi’s fingers dipped under the waistband of your underwear, collecting the slick pooling around your folds before plunging his two fingers inside your heat and thumbing at your sensitive bundle of nerves, pure bliss running through your veins at his touch.
Your response had Javi practically growling, a low groan rumbling in his chest as he looked down to see the golden and diamond bands glistening on your finger, awestruck at the beautifully blissed out mess you were already becoming as his fingers curled, prodding at the spongy spot inside you that he knew drove you wild.
“You’re so fucking perfect, Osita. My beautiful wife. Fuck- I can’t believe your mine. I love you so fucking much.” Javi groaned, his words muffled between the hot, wet kisses he kept planting on your lips, feeling your cunt beginning to clench around his digits.
“I l-love- fuck- I love you too, Javi.” You whimpered, the all too familiar tingle at the base of your spine beginning to build as Javi’s fingers pulsed in and out of your heat and thumb circled your throbbing clit, knowing with how worked up you were and how good he felt, it wouldn’t take much more before you were coming undone around his hand.
“I know you’re close, baby. Let go, hermosa. Cum for me so I can fuck my wife and show her how much I love her.”
“F-Fuckfuckfuck Javi. Don’t stop, baby, don’t s-sto-ahhhhhhhhh.”
With his thumb circling faster and harder around your sensitive bundle of nerves, and fingers plunging in and out of your weeping hole, it wasn’t long before you could feel that all too familiar tingle spreading throughout your body, your orgasm flooding through every inch of you as you came around his fingers, soaking his hand.
“That’s it, Osita. That’s my good girl. My good wife.” Javi groaned, making you whimper as he withdrew his fingers from your dripping heat, admiring the slick and shiny mess you had made around his fingers, entranced by the way your arousal had coated his wedding band as he brought his hand to his mouth, sucking his fingers clean before beginning to work at his belt. “You taste so fucking sweet, baby.”
You sat back up, looking over your heaving chest to see Javi shuffling his pants and boxers down his thighs, leaving them to pool around his ankles, revealing his cock, already so painfully hard and weeping with precum from his tip. Reaching down to run his fingers through your folds again, he collected your slick on his hand before rubbing it up and down his length, stroking himself to line up with your entrance.
“F-fuck, let me feel you baby, p-please.” You whined, reaching up to grab fistfuls of Javi’s shirt, tugging him down to kiss you and lay his body on top of yours.
“Jesus fucking Christ…” Javi moaned, slowly filling you up with his cock inch by inch until he had bottomed out against your cervix, letting you adjust to the fullness as he relished in the wet and warmth of your pussy gripping around him like a vice.
“M-move, Javi, please, baby.” The sweet sting and stretch of Javi’s length inside you already wanting to make your eyes roll to the back of your head.
Javi began to languidly thrust himself in and out of your heat, dragging his cock almost painfully slowly against your velvety walls, cursing under his breath at the feeling of his balls beginning to tighten in his stomach, knowing there was no way he was going to be able to last as long as he would have wanted to in the moment.
“Javiiiii” You whined, your arms wrapping around back, nails pressing into his shoulders as his cock hit the spot inside you that lit you ablaze. His hand snaked between your bodies, reaching down to rub your clit, still slow, taking his time with each graze of his fingertips as his pace held deep and steady. Every thrust in and out of his hips had you wrecked as he filled you so fully and intensely, moaning his name over and over while he grasped the meat of your thighs, pressing your knees against your chest to stretch you open even further.
“God you’re so beautiful. My beautiful fucking wife. Gonna be such a beautiful mom for our kids.” Javi grunted, this thrusts becoming faster and sloppier as he let the reality of his marriage and actual attempts to start trying for a family burn a hole in the forefront of his mind, igniting something even feral within him, knowing he was one step closer to finally giving you and him what you both wanted more than anything.
For Javi to get you pregnant.
The last sentence made your breath hitch in the back of your throat, whimpering at the notion that because you were finally married, there wasn’t much stopping you from tossing out your birth control tomorrow and trying to get pregnant by the end of the month.
“J-Javi-” You whined, trying to form any sort of coherent thought as your brain short circuited from the pure bliss and heart racing thoughts running through your brain.
“What, Osita?”
“I-I want you- oh shit- to fuck a baby into me, Javi. I wanna throw out the rest of my birth control- I don’t care if the house- Jesus- isn’t finished. I wanna stop taking it tomorrow. I w-want you to- fuck- fill me up and get me pregnant.”
You could practically feel the weight of Javi’s jaw dropping to the floor, eyes bulging out of his skull, and heart beating out of his chest, so shocked, he stopped himself mid thrust, just to make sure he had heard you correctly.
“Osita- baby, are you- holy fuck- baby, are you serious?”
You nodded your head frantically, grabbing the collar of his shirt to pull him in for an electric kiss before leaning back to whisper in his ear, your voice sultry and low.
“I need my husband to fuck a baby into me. Please. Fuck a baby into me, Javi.”
If Javi didn’t have his arms already braced on the bed, there’s no way in hell he wouldn’t have fallen over in pure delight at your request, his stomach now churning with the wildest mix of excitement, lust and pride, spreading up through his chest and across his face, the brown of his eyes darkening and awestruck smile widening.
“You want me to fuck a baby into you, Hermosa?” Javi asked, almost rhetorically, a devilish grin spreading between his cheeks as he began to pound into you again, not even giving you a chance to respond, knowing damn well what your answer was.
If his thrusts weren’t already frantically rushed and sloppy, they most definitely were now, Javi practically on the brink of his own high just from the thought of getting to fuck you, knowing there was a real, true chance of getting you pregnant, trying to fight with everything in him to keep from busting right then, needing to make sure that you came again before he did.
The lewd noises of your moans, wetness of Javi’s cock sliding in and out of you, and his hips snapping against yours coated the walls of the room, the both of you having no regard for anyone who may have been close enough to hear you, so caught up in the moment, that at this point, you couldn’t have cared less if anyone caught the both of you.
“Answer me, baby. Mierda- You want me to fuck a baby into you, huh? Want me to fucking fill you up and get you pregnant? Show everyone you’re mine with our baby growing inside you?” Javi grunted through gritted teeth, pounding into your g-spot with blinding force, frantically circling your clit as he felt your cunt begin to clench tighter and tighter around his cock, knowing you just needed a little bit more before he had you coming undone.
“Y-yes- fuckfuckfuck- I need you to, Javi, p-please baby, please, please, pleaaahhhhhhh-”
Just like that, you could feel yourself gushing around Javi’s cock as you came, your orgasm hitting you like a tidal wave, crashing through every inch of your body, euphoria flooding through your veins, screaming his name while he fucked you through your high, desperately chasing his own.
“I’ll give it to you baby, I- fuck me- I’ll give you everything you want. I’ll give you as many babies as you want. I’ll give you a family, I’ll give you my heart, my soul, my everything, my- oh fuck!”
Javi’s hips stuttered, forcing a low groan to rumble in his throat as he came, the hot ropes of his spend coating your walls, making sure to milk himself of every last drop inside you, still pulsing and thrusting inside you, ensuring that nothing went to waste.
Slumping his body on top of yours, your chests rose and fell in sync, trying your best to catch your breaths as you came down from your highs, your mouths meeting in a sloppy kiss to try and ground you back to reality.
“Holy fuck…” You whispered through your labored pants, laughing to yourself from the pure bliss of what had just happened, staring up at Javi with a radiant grin, brushing the sweat-dampened curls from his forehead.
Javi hissed as he carefully pulled out, leaning back enough to see the smile on your face, gently cupping your cheek as he looked down at you with a goofy grin of his own.
“Osita… Were you being- baby, were you serious about what you said?”
“Jav, I don’t think I’ve ever been more serious about anything in my entire life. Is-is that okay with you?” You asked, biting down on your lip.
“Is that okay with me?” He asked, almost mockingly, chucking to himself as he shook his head in disbelief, “We can really throw it away tomorrow?”
“Yup.”
“And you won’t bring it with you on the honeymoon?”
“Nope.” You replied, popping the “p” at the end of the word.
“And there’s- holy fuck- there’s a chance you could actually get pregnant soon?” Javi asked, his face glowing brighter and brighter with each question he asked.
“Mmmhhmmm. Well, I mean, it might not happen right away but- Ahhhh Javi!” You giggled as your husband aggressively peppered ticklish kisses across your entire face, making you squeal and squirm in delight.
“Fuck, I love you so much. Thank you.” Javi smiled, tears welling in his eyes as he looked down at you.
“Jav, baby, don’t cry! Why are you crying, you dork?”
“You’ve given me everything I’ve ever wanted. You married me, we’re gonna have a family, it’s just- fuck, I promise, that I wanna spend the rest of my life until the day I die showing you how thankful I am that you chose me. That you gave me all the things I stopped thinking I deserved. I love you so much, it fucking hurts, Osita. Thank you for choosing me.”
Sitting up, you threw your arms around Javi, pulling him close to you in the tightest hug you could muster, stroking the hair at the nape of his neck, feeling the weight of his body melt into yours, your bodies intertangled as one.
“Javi, you’re the only one it ever could be. Te amo más de lo que las palabras pueden expresar. (I love you more than words can say).”
“Hey! Lovebirds! Are y’all in here?”
Over the music and chatter of the party outside, you and Javi had been completely oblivious to the all too familiar southern twang of Steve’s voice behind the bedroom door, gently knocking from the outside after being sent on a mission to find where in the world the two of you had been for nearly a half hour.
“Hello? Mr. and Mrs. Peña?” Steve rapped again, getting nothing in response but silence. Steve shrugged, drunk enough to have no fear to pound on the door repeatedly until the two of you showed up, now reaching down at the doorknob and giving it a jiggle.
Steve was shocked to find that he could turn the handle, writing off the fact that they two of you would be in a room with an unlocked door after the 10 pounds of shit he had given Javi, and with his inhibitions severely lowered, he had no problem cranking the knob and pushing the bedroom door wide open.
“Hello? Earth to Javi and Mrs. Peña, are y’all in here or not because I- Oh Jesus Christ!” Steve shrieked, opening up the door to see you and Javi, your dress still hoisted up to your waist, and Javi’s bare ass completely on display, making the both of you scream just as loud in surprise at your unwanted visitor.
“Murphy! Get the fuck out!” Javi snarled, quickly scrambling to try and pull your dress back down and his pants back up.
“Jesus Fuckin’ Christ!” Steve yelled, immediately bringing his hand to his face to cover up his eyes, trying to drunkenly stumble as quickly as he could back out of the room, but, because of his intoxicated state and self-imposed lack of vision, Steve found himself colliding head first with the wall, knocking himself to the ground before crawling across the floor like a frazzled toddler, kicking the door closed behind him.
For as devastatingly embarrassed as you were by the whole debacle, you couldn’t help but cackle at the impeccable comedic timing of the whole thing, snickering to yourself as Javi finished buckling back up his pants and helping you up to stand before storming to the door, opening it to find Steve still sprawled on the floor in an a hysteric fit.
“Are you fucking serious, Murph?” Javi growled, completely unamused.
“God, I shoulda kept my bit that Connie cut in my speech. Y’all do know that doors have locks, right? Might be helpful if y’all learned how to use ‘em. Just food for thought.” Steve giggled, watching both of your faces grow beet red in embarrassment and at a loss for words.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Javi asked, pinching the arch of his nose between his fingers, shaking his head in frustration, looking down the hallway to make sure that Steve was the only presence you needed to worry about.
“I’m tryin’ to save your asses before someone else worse than me walks in on the two of you gettin’ it on. Y’all do realize you’ve been gone for almost 45 minutes right? Being the- oh shit-” Steve paused, letting out a giant burp,” ‘cuse me, being the good Best Man I am, I decided to try and find you two idiots before people started askin’ too many questions. So, you’re welcome.” Steve grunted, pushing himself up to stand, cocking his head at the both of, hands on his hips, trying to prove his point. “Also, do you two anything else besides fuc-”
“Steve! Jesus Christ, will you shut the fuck up!” Javi groaned, staring down at the floor, taking a deep breath to compose himself before he decided to kick Steve right back down to the ground again.
“...It’s really been 45 minutes?” You grimaced, looking back between Steve and Javi, shrugging at your husband that any longer, your mom would have been on a search party for you, and it would have been your whole family at Javi’s bedroom door instead of just Steve.
“Yeah, and I’m the first to come lookin’ after ya, so again, you’re welcome. Jesus, Javi, you can really last for 45 fuckin minutes? How the-”
“Murphy!”
“Sorry…”
“Fuck me….”
“Think you and your wife already took care of that one…” Steve muttered under his breath, trying not to laugh.
“I swear to God, Steve…”
“Okay, I’m done! I’m done! Swear!” Steve held up his hands in defense, taking a step back away from Javi.
“Will you please just give us a minute, Murph?” Javi sighed, running his hand through his hair, trying with every bone in his body to keep his patience with his drunken friend.
“Fine, fine, fine. 1 minute. I’m counting. Use your time wisely and appropriately, you sickos.” Steve snickered, disappearing down the hallway, only to peek his head back out around the corner. “And Jav?”
“What, Murph?”
“Your fly’s undone.”
As you and Javi sheepishly made your way back out to the backyard, you couldn't have been more relieved to see that at this point, anyone still left at your reception was far too drunk to care that you had been missing, seeing that almost all of your guests were out on the dance floor, partying away without a care in the world, or any inkling of what you and Javi had been up to.
“Longer than a minute, but beggars can’t be choosers I guess.” Steve chuckled, creeping up behind you with two drinks in hand, passing them both off to you and Javi. “Here. Figured I owe ya a drink. These are on me.”
“We paid for the bar, Murph.”
“Alright, well I guess these ones are on you, Grumpy Pants.” Steve grumbled mockingly, holding up his hands in defense, trying not to stumble over his own two feet as he made his way back to the dance floor.
“Remind me again why I picked him to be my best man?” Javi laughed, taking a sip of his drink, the both of you snickering as you watched Steve whip out some questionable dance moves to “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen blaring in the background and Connie shake her head at her husband.
“Because you love him. Don’t get me wrong, he’s an idiot, but he’s a good guy.” You smiled, giving Javi a little nudge, resting your head on his shoulder as you looked out at the dance floor. “Hey-” You paused, holding up your glass and raising it to Javi’s. “Cheers.”
“Cheers to what, Osita?” Javi asked, wrapping his arm around you, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead as he brought his glass next to yours.
“Cheers to us. I love you so much, Javier Peña, it makes me sick. Sicker than all this tequila is gonna make me tomorrow after I keep drinking it the rest of the night.”
The two of you snorted, goofily clinking your glasses and taking a hefty sip of your drinks as you looked out on the dance floor, your hearts overflowing with love and joy to know that you were surrounded by all of the people in the world you cared about most, even the ones that couldn’t be physically with you, to celebrate the biggest day of your life and the start of your new forever.
“Cheers, Hermosa. I love you so goddamn much. Maybe the hangover will help distract the nerves on the flight tomorrow.” Javi smirked, taking another sip of his drink as he shook you playfully in his grasp, your faces both lighting up as you remembered that tomorrow, you be in the Bahamas for the next 10 days, where the only thing you needed to worry about was where you wanted to lay on the beach, what drink you wanted in your hand, and now, seeing how quickly Javi could get you pregnant.
“Oh shut up.” You sighed, giving Javi a little slap to the chest before taking another sip of your drink, looking up at Javi with heavy lashes, batting your eyes at him. “You just have to remind me that I have to do some unpacking before we leave tomorrow.”
“Unpacking?” Javi asked, tilting his head in confusion at you, the gears in his brain turning as you bit down on your lip, raising your eyebrow at him, waiting for him to piece together your clue. “Oh. Oh.”
Javi’s eyes went wide as he remembered what you meant, heart racing in anticipation, never imagining before today that he would have been so excited to actively throw away birth control to try and have a kid.
“Can we throw it away tonight?” Javi pleaded, his puppy dog eyes in full effect.
“I’m not sure what difference tonight and tomorrow morning is gonna make, but sure. Happy wedding present.” You giggled, pressing up onto your tiptoes to plant a long, hot kiss.
“Best fucking gift I could ask for besides the fact I finally get to call you my wife.”
As the end of the song slowly faded out, “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” began to play next in the background, your face lighting up in excitement and Javi’s eyes rolling, hearing the song that had been most likely the biggest controversy of your entire wedding planning process now bumping through the speakers, followed by the cheers and hollers of your guests.
“I told you people would want to hear this song.” You said smugly, crossing your arms over your chest, popping your hip at Javi as you sassed him, making him shake his head at your theatrics.
“It doesn’t stop it from being a stupidly annoying song.”
“A stupidly annoying song that people love. A stupidly annoying song that your wife loves.” You teased. “Whaddya say, Peña, can you stand this unbearably stupid song to go dance with me?
“I’d dance to this song with you a million times if it means I get to dance with you.”
Grabbing Javi by the hand, you tugged him out to the dance floor in a fit of giggles and smiles, jumping along and dancing to the beat song after song the rest of the night with your friends, family and husband.
You couldn't help but catch yourself stopping now and again to smile to yourself to take everything in, feeling like you needed to pinch yourself to make sure this was all really real. Just over a year ago, your life felt like it had hit an all time low. You had moved halfway across the country to try and run from your pain, desperate to find any way to bring yourself any ounce of peace in your ocean of hurt. It felt like fate had forsaken you for the worst, kicking you while you were down, and leaving destruction in its wake.
But never in a million years would you have believed that fate would have sent you with a one way ticket to Laredo, Texas, and that trip would bring so much more than just the glimmer of hope you longed for. It had brought you peace, comfort, the acceptance you weren’t sure you would have ever allowed yourself to feel. Laredo had brought you everything you never expected, and all of the things you never thought you deserved.
It brought you Javi- the man who single handedly changed your life for the better, loving you unconditionally for every part of your being and piecing back together the parts of your heart you had left broken.
It brought you the man you now got to call your husband.
Fate and life have funny ways of working together to bring you the things you need the most when you least expect them. And today, as you got to marry the love of your life and your very best friend, you knew you’d be forever thankful that fate stepped in when you needed it most.
La vida es graciosa, no lo crees? (Life is funny, isn’t it?)

Reassignment is a struggle. It's temporary, or, it's meant to be, but if things go well with your new team, you may be a permanent fixture. So you're a little nervous stepping onto the tarmac, all things considered.
You'd only managed to meet one person from your new squadron so far, a good-natured, kind man named Jake. He had seen you wandering along the hallway, directing you to Admiral Simpson's office when you'd explained your predicament. You don't spot him on the tarmac now, but you're not sure how many people are on the team.
There's a dark-haired woman that you can see, and she notices you, too. You aren't sure whether they've been shown pictures of you, but your last name is patched into your uniform and the helmet under your arm is branded with your callsign. A flash of recognition shows in her eyes, and she starts towards you.
"You're Y/N Y/L/N?" She quirks a brow, and you nod, smiling kindly.
"Nice to meet you," She grins, a brilliant expression on her pretty face, "I'm Natasha. Callsign Phoenix."
"Phoenix," You gush, "I like that. I'm supposed to join you for a hop today?"
"Yeah, we heard about that!" A man steps up beside you, cocky smirk on his face as he holds out a hand, "I'm Coyote. You're supposed to fly with Hangman, right?"
It wasn't ideal, being stuck in someone's backseat. You're used to flying, but this squadron wasn't in need of a new pilot, and you've been trained for both seats.
"Oh god," A man beside you groans, mustache a burnt red, "That's unfortunate. I'm, uh, Rooster. By the way."
You cock your head to the side, shaking his hand, "Rooster. What's wrong with that?"
"He's... difficult." A shorter man pipes up from your left, sticking his hand out, "Fanboy. He's just arrogant, that's all. He thinks he's the best, so it's hard to work with him if he feels like you're working against him. Hopefully he doesn't give you too much of a hard time."
Your heart sinks a little at the prospect of being paired with someone who didn't take kindly to partnership. You're resilient, sure, but there's only so much you can tolerate.
"Don't look now," Phoenix mumbles, leaning in close so no one can hear, "But he's coming out now. Just stand your ground, we can handle him if it gets too much."
You nod near-imperceptibly, waiting until you can hear the thunk of his boots on the asphalt before you spare him a glance. To your delight, the sweet, smiling face of Jake greets you, his cheeks already dusted a rosy hue.
"Y/N," He greets, southern drawl as sweet as sugar, "You're part of my squadron?"
"Your squadron," Rooster scoffs disapprovingly.
""You two know each other?" A tall man inquires, dark skin and pretty eyes, "I thought this was your first time here, Y/N."
"It is," You nod, exchanging a friendly smile with the man and glancing down at his name tag: Fitch, "But I ran into Jake yesterday in the hallway. He helped me to Admiral Simpson's office."
"Oh he did?" Fitch cocks his head to the side, a shit-eating grin thrown at Hangman, "Oh, that's so nice of you, Jake."
"I'm so glad you think that, Payback," Jake sneers, grin more menacing than any glare could be, "Now if you'll excuse us, Y/N and I should get comfortable with our new ride."
Jake crosses the rest of the tarmac until he's beside you, his hand coming to press against the small of your back just as it had yesterday. He's developing a habit of leading you around, and you reach his plane shortly, both of your names stamped on the side.
"I've never flown two-seater before," Jake admits, brushing a hand over his printed callsign, "This'll be interesting."
"Oh, why now?" You frown, fitting your helmet over your head, "What changed?"
"Uh," Hangman's eyes widen, and you think you've asked the wrong question. He answers, though, it's just sheepish.
"Admiral Simpson thinks it would be best if I had someone else with me in the air," He starts, choosing his words carefully, "Because he has observed some, uh- daring maneuvers from me. And he thinks that I might benefit from having someone else's safety to consider."
"You're too reckless," You realize, and you can't help but giggle, "So I'm your babysitter?"
"Let's not call it that!" Jake laughs, blush intensified, "Let's call it partners. Deal?"
"Deal," You grin, eyes twinkling similar to his own, "Partners."
"What the fuck?" Fanboy spits, watching from afar as Jake helps you into the jet, letting you grab his hand and brace your weight on his arm, "Did he get possessed, or something?"
"She hasn't slapped him yet," Rooster ponders, "He must be keeping himself in check."
"Is that Y/N?" Natasha turns where she hears Bob's voice nearing behind her, nodding with a growing smirk on her face.
"Yeah, that's her. And that's Hangman."
She points to Jake, who's leaning into your seat, concern evident on his face as he helps you adjust the position of your harness.
Bob's face falls, scrunching into a frown, "He's... helping her?"
"This is gonna get interesting, boys," Phoenix grins, eyes narrowed at Jake who's still grinning sweetly at you, "Hangman's got a crush."

Weird thought rant ‼️
I always see in smuts that the MC gets a belly bulge and all that but okay, hear me out, how about MALE belly bulge? I have no idea if that’s possible due to male anatomy but I just thought that would be something
Join the cause and support Male belly bulge 😸
dw nonnie, i'm alr w/ you😌✨ (+ for reference it is possible!!)
anyway, this, for vio bc i feel like it'd be more prominent on him than my other ocs. also as a little smth for all the vio fuckers who continue to dominate the inbox🥰
NSFW under the cut!
“Shit.” Gasping breaths. Intakes hitched harder and harder. “Fuck, please. Please, I’m sorr-”
Vio's words never quite made it out of his mouth, not when your fingers quickly found their place within the wetness oozing from the space between spongey tongue and roof. Teary greens straining to meet your gaze, pleading mercy like what you were doing to him was torture, even though Vio was the one who slammed his ass back to meet your hips each time, without fail.
“Aren’t you a fucking mess?” The amusement in your voice was palpable, and you knew it got him off, what with the way he keened, forehead pressing to the sheets and hands fisting the fabric as though it could save his life. “Don’t think I’ve ever heard an apology from these pretty lips,” your point was driven home when he gagged, and your spit-slicked digits slipped out just for you to smear it to a shine on them, “best not start now, hm? It might make me wanna take pity on you and then-”
He cried your name, and you watched the muscles in his back ripple as he convulsed. Sweat glistening, mesmerising in the way rain droplets were when they ran races against glass windows, dripping into the divots of sacral dimples you were aching to dig your thumbs into.
“And then who’s gonna fuck you like this, huh?” Your cleaner hand reached out, wrapped around his throat tight enough to choke him, and pulled him up. It drove you deeper into him — had Vio's eyes rolling to the back of his skull, had him clawing at you with almost the same intensity as he moaned. “Fuck you this good,” your hand trailed to his abdomen, where skin stretched thin, “fill you up, make you scream. You know I’m the only one who can do it for you. Only I know who you are, what you deserve. Right, Vio?”
“O-Only you,” Vio rasped, “only you, Y/N. Please.”
“You keep saying that,” you hummed, pressing a kiss to his jugular absent-mindedly. His pulse was fluttering, light and so fast in a way you thought suited the image of delicacy he’d crafted for the world. The way his body molded to your shape said otherwise, unbreaking, despite your efforts to do just that. “What are you begging for? What have I not given you?”
“Everything.” Wisps of blue flurried in your vision, and they were all you could see for seconds after Vio tilted his head back on your shoulder. The ocean, in the colour of his eyes. Lapping waves that undulated and moved towards you. “This much isn’t enough.” Seasalt at his nape, on your tastebuds, becoming addictive. “Give it all to me.” Threatening to drown you. “Y/N.”
For a second you were gone, and then his voice, weighted only momentarily, had you snapping back into reality, into motion, into him. “Greedy,” you tittered, index up his Adam’s apple to tap on his chin and push it down, “can’t you see that I already am?”
“Fuck.” Vio's eyes widened, the slightest bit — you wouldn’t have caught it if you weren’t looking. Your palm smoothed over where his belly bulged, applied a little pressure and watched his pupils blow. It was funny to you that he hadn’t noticed before. “Fuck. Y/N, wait.” Between his legs, Vio's dick twitched, clearly not as spent as either of you had first assumed, not with how it was leaking now. “Wait!”
There are things you’d never know about him; what type of pleasure coursed through his veins on seeing the strain you put on him, if it was a physical fulfillment, if it was solely the feeling, or the thought, being claimed, stretched, ruined. You never wondered about it long — after all, it didn’t matter. In seconds, the ocean overflowed for you. He spilt for you.
Vio lost his mind for you.

⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
SO, thinking of Velaryon! Reader who is...
The youngest daughter of Rhaenys and Corlys, born around the same time as Jace and Aemond.
Her egg never hatched in the cradle, so it was assumed that she would succeed Corlys as the next Sea Snake and become the Lady of the Tides, seeing as Laenor would become King Consort and Leana was now a Princess.
However, some other factors that need to be taken into account are;
King Viserys sees the birth of a daughter so close to the birth of the two boys as a sign, another reason to further unite the two great houses (especially after the rumors surrounding the dark-haired grandson of his) so he proposes another marriage. This time, the girl is to be raised amongst both boys and allowed to choose between them once they all come of age.
(The reason I didn't mention Baela is bc Viserys atp wouldn't be that into marrying his line into Daemons line lol.)
Corlys is salty and refutes at first, bc look at how Rhaenyra and Laenors marriage is going, not to mention Daemon and Laena. Rhaenys, on the other hand, convinces him to agree because either way, their daughter ends up a princess, or even better, a queen.
AND
Corlys ain't into the matriarch idea.
AND
Laenor is currently his direct heir, so logically, his son would be the next Lord of Driftmark.
So, Corlys holds off on naming her heir for as long as he possibly can.
This is where things begin to go downhill...
Naturally, the three kids all grow up amongst each other, all of them being told that at one point, Reader would marry one of the boys and either rule driftmark or become queen.
This feeds into the animosity between Rhaenyra and Alicent and, in turn, Aemond and Jace.
Rhaenyra is urging Jace to bond with Reader to 'save her' from the Hightowers clutches. Not to mention how much she admires Readers' determination, will, and intelligence. She thinks Reader would be a good queen one day (I HC that she sees herself in Reader lol)
Alicent could honestly care less at the beginning, but as soon as Aemond begins making snide comments about Aegon being king, she begins to urge him to pursue Reader and become the Ruler of Driftmark. A, futile, attempt to turn his attention away from the iron throne, seeing as he always had the intention to marry Reader, with or without his mothers interference.
Both boys, therefore, form some sort of affection for Reader.
Jace is indifferent at first. He believes the reader is pretty and admires her intelligence and wit but does not particularly enjoy the thought of being forced into a marriage.
Eventually, these feelings change, and he becomes devoted. He completely adores her, as does the rest of his family. He idolizes her, worships her, and is now vying for her love and affection just as much as Aemond. He knows the moment he spoke his wish for her hand, it would be his, being the Kings favorite did have perks, but he would rather wait for her to return the feelings. He would hate nothing more than her being miserable in an arranged marriage with him.
Aemond, however, is immediately infatuated. Neither of them have dragons, so it must be fate! He always follows her around like a puppy, and they often study together. Wherever she goes, Aemond follows. Seeing as Reader spends most of her time preparing for her, inevitable, rise to power, Aemond also begins to learn the ways of the court and how royalty should behave.
As they grow and time passes, his pure childhood love and adoration festers into obsession and, much like Jace, utter devotion.
He believes that Reader belongs to him, just as he belongs to her. Why else would the gods bind them in such a way? He believes that the reason they don't have dragons is because they were meant for something greater than dragonriding! They were meant to rule, conquer the nobles, and charm the smallfolk. They were meant to bring about a new era of Targaryens, ones who were more than powerful enough without dragons.
(Yeah. He's like double the psycho he is in the show lol.)
That's how the boys feel about everything, Now let's take a glimpse into Readers mind...
Now, her whole life, Reader is constantly being told by everyone,
"You're going to be a great Sea Snake, just like your father!"
"You'll make a fine Queen one day, better than any we've had in ages, I reckon!"
"You and the Prince (either one lol) make such a handsome couple, I'm sure your children will be very blessed with looks!"
In her youth, when she's innocent and naive, (until she's abt 6) she's just confused. She's her fathers heir, isn't she? Why isn't she titled yet? Why does she have to marry one of her snot nosed nephew/cousin in order to gain one?? (As if she's also not a snot nosed brat at the time lol)
She doesn't question her parents because she trusts them, and believes that maybe she's not old enough, or trained enough, and therefore dedicated the rest of her spare time to studying, training and practicing.
And then Laena dies.
The Driftmark incident happens, but the only reason Aemond claimed Vhaegar was because Reader was trying to claim her, and he followed her and was just there for emotional support.
After Aemonds eye was cut, Reader distances herself from both boys.
She feels guilty about Aemond losing his eye.
She resents Lucerys and, by extension, Jace, as she believes it was a completely unacceptable reaction on their part.
Rhaenys and Corlys are PISSED.
"What were you thinking!?"
"You knew Rhaena was supposed to claim her!"
Reader is also big mad.
"Leana was my sister, I had just as much of a claim to Vhaegar as Rhaena!"
"Why must I be the one with nothing!? No title, no land, no dragon, NOT EVEN A SHIP!!"
Rhaenys explains that they were just waiting for the right moment, between Laenas passing and Corlys' declining health. (Excuses lol)
Aka, she's trying to convince Corlys to wait and see who Reader decides to marry before naming an heir.
Corlys, on the other hand, is fine with waiting bc being forced to choose between a bastard and a hightower as the heir to driftmark is agonizing. (He's legit considering Vaemond atp)
Anyways after that, everyone kind of splits up.
Jace goes with his mom to Dragonstone.
Reader doesn't see him again until his blood is being questioned, but does write to him after he persistently apologizes.
Reader stays at driftmark and begins to learn how to sail and command a fleet.
(The only reason Corlys agrees is bc he wants to quiet the rumors of why he hasn't named her as his heir yet.)
Aemond stays in kings landing, and the two reconcile only because he broke down and begged her not to hate him for being deformed, and she couldn't handle him thinking she'd toss him aside for that. (By letter ofc)
Then Laenor 'dies.'
Everyone is upset, distraught, mourning, you get the gist.
Reader, however upset she may or may not be, is also ecstatic.
She sees this as another chance.
A chance for her to finally get a dragon.
A chance for her to prove herself to her father and finally be named his heir!!
After all, no one else is in her way anymore... (so she thinks)
So, once again, while everyone is busy at the funeral, Reader sneaks off to claim Seasmoke.
Alone, this time.
However, that doesn't work (bc he's not dead lol) so she completely breaks down.
Everyone thinks it's bc both her siblings just died but it's actually because she feels worthless and pathetic.
Existential crisis lol.
Who comforts her? Jace.
They bond over losing Laenor, and Reader has a manic epiphany.
Maybe Aemond was right. Maybe the gods refused to give her a dragon because she was meant for greater things.
After all, Jace was a dragonrider through and through. She knows that he despises his princely duties and would be happy if he could have the title and power of the throne without the politics and mind games.
He would much rather burn and fly than rub shoulders and sign papers.
Then she starts PLOTTING.
If her parents refused to name her heir, even after Laenors death, then she would go above them.
She'd show them she was worthy. She didn't need them anymore.
She didn't want them anymore.
After all, why would she choose to be a Lady when she could be a Queen?
If she marries Jace, she has no doubt that he would allow her to handle everything. He'd be nothing more than the face and name. She'd be the one making the calls.
He'd be the axe, and she'd be the executioner.
She waits to inform everyone of her decision, though, seeing as they are in mourning, lol.
She doesn't even tell Jace, but she does become more affectionate and romantic with him.
Jace is just happy she's finally giving him attention and spending time with him (poor bby).
Aemonds too busy plotting how him and Reader are going to usurp the throne to realize she was pulling away from him. (Delulu)
Time passes, Viserys is wilting and the dance is approaching.
Readers making moves to secure her place as Jaces Queen, befriending both the smallfolk and the nobles and shadowing Otto Hightower and Larys Strong as much as possible. (Unlikely friendship lol, they're all ambitious, cunning, and know how to play the long game. Reader admires their ability to manipulate everyone to their advantage, Otto is under the impression she will be his future granddaughter in law, and Larys believes she can benefit him one way or another in the future.)
Alicent and Otto are beginning to groom Aegon to be King.
Rhaenyra marries Daemon and awaits her succession.
Corlys is severely ill and is finally about to name Reader his heir.
Then the gun goes off.
Everyone gathers in kings landing at Vaemonds behest to discuss the legitimacy of Jace and Luke.
(Vaemond and Reader do not get along bc they both think their the rightful heir to the Driftwood throne.)
Reader is a whole badass now. Smart, pretty, strong and manipulative AS FUCK!
She's grown to simultaneously love and despise both her nephew and cousin after everything that has happened.
Regardless, she decides that once the whole legitimacy dispute was settled, she'd announce her choice to everyone present.
That obviously doesn't happen because of Rhaenys announcing Lucerys and Jacaerys' engagements to Rhaena and Baela.
Reader is LIVID.
She's upset, furious, and feels betrayed.
Was all that talk of choice and decisions meaningless?!?
Was all her agony over choosing between the two she loved the most for nothing!?
Nonetheless, she keeps her cool, and her determination never wavers.
After all, Aegon the Conquerer had two wives. Why couldn't Jacaerys? Besides, he loves her, not Baela, he wouldnt give up on their engagement that easily.
She could deal with sharing him, seeing as Baela didn't show any interest in being a ruler at all. Her plans could still work. She just needed to adjust some things first. It might actually benefit her more.
Baela could keep Jace occupied while she did what she wanted.
Yes.
It could still work.
Then, Lucerys is named heir to driftmark.

<3masterlist<3
TW: lingerie, riding, unprotected sex, wall sex, whipped gojo, groping, neck sucking, a bit of dirty talk, pet names; princess, creampie ~2k words
------------------strictly 18+ MDNI------------------
"Satoru wait!" you tried to keep your voice down while slapping your hands over his mouth.
"What's wrong?", he mumbled against them.
You were currently backed up against a wall in between the arms of your lunatic of a boyfriend. His knee was prying your legs open and your dress was bunched up. What's worse you were in a library. How cliché.
All you could do was look away and try your best to calm down. When you still weren't answering he kissed your hand that was in front of his mouth as he pulled away.
"We've done it a bunch what are you so embarrassed about."
You felt your jaw drop to the floor. "You're asking me what I'm so embarrassed about?? We're in public. What do you mean mh-"
Before you could finish your sentence he stole a quick peck and pulled away with a grin. You wanted to whack that grin off of his face but all you could do was cover your face in embarassment.
"Geeezzzz", you groaned, leaning your head against his chest.
"You don't want to do it?"
His question made you look up at him.
"Of course I do! It's just.."
"Hm?", he hummed, turning his head to the side to catch a glimpse of your pouty face.
"Not here. Let's go somewhere else."
"Aye, captain."
-------
Somewhere else turned out to be your shared apartment. He was a bit disappointed, but didn't waste any time pulling at your dress and squishing your soft flesh between his long fingers. He'll convince you to have sex with him in public someday for sure. Somehow, you made it to your bedroom and he sat down on the bed, making you stand between his spread legs.
As he was about to pull your pretty little sundress over your head, you stopped him.
"W-wait!"
"What's wrong?", he questioned, halting all movements.
"Just close your eyes for a second. I have a surprise for you." He gave you a nod before covering his eyes with his huge hands grinnig like an idiot.
You took a deep breath, mustering all of your courage before slipping out of your dress. Now you stood there, bare with just the almost non-existent fabric of the red lingerie covering you. You pressed your eyes and lips together, putting your arms behind your back.
"Okay, you can look now.."
"Oh, this oughtta be good", he thought to himself before opening his eyes and having the wind knocked out of his lungs at the sight before him. There you stood, eyes closed in embarassment and almost completely bare. He had to stop himself before his jaw dropped to the floor. Now he realised why you asked him which colour was his favourite for you to wear. Sneaky little thing you are.
The strings of your tiny panties were digging into your soft hips and the garter on one of your thighs was squishing it so deliciously we wanted to put his dick right between your legs. He was so mesmerized by the sight that he forgot to say anything at all which made you extremely self conscious. So you wanted to save yourself from further embarassment as you began to cover your body with your arms.
"God, do you hate it that much?? Why aren't you saying anything? I was so stupid for thinking you'd-"
Before you could finish your rant, he pried your arms away from your body and pulled you close so your face was right in front of his. That made you finally open your eyes as you blinked at him oh so innocently.
"Look at what you did to me. How could I hate it?", he asked before pulling your hand over his already throbbing cock. You let out a shriek as he began grinding against your hand and went to kiss your neck, grabbing a handful of your lace covered tits.
"I wanna fuck you so bad, but I want to keep you in those panties longer. What to do, what to do.", he mumbled, pulling at the fabric of your panties and letting one of the straps snap against your hip, leaving a red mark.
"Well, it can't be helped.", he said, already trying to pull them down over your plump ass.
"Wait! We... we can just pull them to the side.", you looked away and continued. "I've read something about that online. Guy apparently go crazy for that..."
"Fuck", he groaned against your chest. "You're gonna be the death of me."
"What? You don't like it? I mean, we don't have to it was just an idea."
"No that's not what I mean. I'm just trying my best to hold back. But I don't think I can much longer if you keep talking to me like that."
"Then don't hold back anymore.. give it to me hard."
He couldn't believe his ears. That was his final straw as he slammed you on the bed. This is the first time he ever saw you so daring, if it wasn't for his raging hard on he would've fainted on the spot. How could you be so perfect for him. You were usually so shy and cute for him where did all of this come from?
"Wait, hold on. My glasses, they're gonna get all messed up, let me-", as you went to take them off, they were pushed back up your nose.
"Keep them on today. You look so cute in them. Makes me wanna corrupt you." Gulp.
He didn't waste any more time, pulling your panties to the side and sliding his cock through your wet lips. "Fuck, I've always wanted to try fucking you in something like this." he hissed dipping his tip in your cunt.
"Shit", you moaned covering your face and mouth only to have your hands pulled away and lips attached to the shell of your ear whipering. "Don't hide from me, princess. Let me see those lewd expressions, hm?"
Before you could protest he was already pressing into you. So all you were able to do was arch your back and and dig your nails into his biceps. He immediately started moving. It felt good, but something was off.
"Wait.. stop!"
"What's wrong? Does it hurt?? I'm sorry." Before he could pull out, you stopped him.
"No, that's not it. I just want to try something different today..." you trailed off and he was all ears.
"Lay back. I wanna ride you."
Oh you were full of surprises today, so he immediately obliged, pulling you on top of him.
"Take it slow, no pressure. Tell me when you get tired and I'll- oh fuck." Now it was his turn to throw his head back and dig his nails into your plush thighs as you sank down on his cock in one smooth motion.
"Just shut up and take it."
Where did you learn to talk like that?? He was so taken aback that he couldn't even tease you like he usually would. He was the flustered one now and you were totally digging it.
You weren't used to moving on your own, but you wanted to try your best. You soon found a good rhythm and your hand slipped between your legs and went to work on your sensitive clit. As you were bouncing on his cock your glasses kept slipping off your nose a bit, but you didn't pay too much attention to that. There was however someone that paid incredible attention to that little detail.
Satoru was mesmerised by the sight in front of him. The red lace looked amazing against your skin and the way the wfabric was cutting into your soft skin made his mouth water. You looked incredibly lewd and sexy. It made him want to eat you alive. But he held back and enjoyed the show. The show soon came to its climax as you let go and creamed all over his cock. Soft moans and mewls of his name left your pretty lips and he swore he fell in love all over again. Even after your orgasm you continued to ride him, starting to get overstimulated but really wanting to make him cum as well. He definitely could've cum from you bouncing on his cock alone, but he felt daring as well. He halted your hips with firm hands, lifting you off of his cock. You were dumbfounded.
"Satoru what's wrong?", you got worried. He however calmed you down with a peck to your lips.
"You're so horny today and that makes me want to try something new as well. Stand up and lean against the wall."
You didn't protest, making your way over to where he was standing and blinking up at him in confusion.
All he did was give you a soft smile, grabbing you by the ass and lifting you off of the floor.
"Wait hold on this is ah-, you shrieked, wrapping your arms around his neck and holding onto him for dear life. Your legs were tightly wrapped around his slim waist and his hands were cupping your ass oh so perfectly.
"My turn~" he purred into your ear. "Be good and take it.", he smirked, maneuvering his cock back inside of you and making your back hit the wall behind you as he was pounding into you from below.
Damn him, but who cares when he was almost fucking your cervix with how huge he was in comparison to your small frame. You didn't notice how loudly you were moaning at his every thrust before he spoke up. "Feel that good huh? Fuck you're so tight and tiny.", he groaned, licking a thick stripe up your neck.
"Mhm, you're all the way in my tummy.", you cried and his lips were quick to kiss away your tears before latching themselves back onto your sensitive neck.
His cock was rubbing against the flimsy fabric of your panties and he was sure he wouldn't last any longer.
"Tell me what you want. Want me to cum inside? Want me to fill you up until your tummy 's about to burst?"
You frantically nodded your head, crashing your lips against his and digging your nails into his back with anticipation.
"Fuck- say it.", he whispered against your lips. You were so high on his cock that every ounce of embarassment went out of the window as you begain to moan.
"Pleeease Satoru. Fill me up, need it so bad!! Make me nice and plump pleeaseee."
Before you could finish your sentence, you already felt him spill inside you with a low groan and bite to your shoulder. The way your nails were digging into his back almost drew blood.
He wasn't usually this vocal during sex, but he was a mess right now, continuing to rut his softening cock into you, letting out pathetic whines. You were so messy as well, your hair was sticking to your sweaty forehead and your glasses were all fogged up.
He felt like he was about to faint, but his grip on you never loosened. He was gentle when he set you down, kissing the top of your head. Your panties were definitely soiled now. You whined when you felt his cum drip down your thigh and onto the garter. But it couldn't drip down any further because thick long fingers collected all of it, plunging themselves into your cunt.
"What are you mh-", you were interrupted by puffy lips on yours and a tongue prying open your mouth.
"No way in hell I'm done with you yet. This is only the beginning. What happened to my cute little girlfriend? Surprise me some more, why don't you~"
Oh boy.

𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞, 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫
𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬: you’re a delinquent--blade's sworn enemy--who has been captured by none other than blade himself, and the price you must pay to him is unlike any other you had before.
𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: yandere blade x reader, nsfw, non-con, mentions of death but no actual death, hes so fucking sexy, edited but could be done better I'm just excited to post this bc he's so mmmm. sexual nsfw under the cut as always <3
The inevitability of this day was something you wished to delay, but you always knew it would come to this. Fumbling your escape and landing in the captivity of your sworn enemy and his fellow hunters made it that much worse, nearly embarrassing. The dark smugness in his eyes, as he watched your hunched form be rounded up by Kafka, was dehumanizing. You tried to tune her voice out as she spoke to the others who had been captured at your side, those who were seemingly more of her target than Blade’s since he continued to watch you and only you, while Kafka hardly spared you a glance. Your ears twitched upon hearing an instruction to follow her elsewhere; you were more than eager to be away from Blade to save yourself some pride, wasting no time as you took a grand step in the direction of the door.
“Not you.” His voice was gruff and heavy beside your ear, you tried not to jump out of your skin as a firm hand reached through your hair and found itself on the back of your neck. The grip was not harsh, not painful, or muscle-cramping, but it was solidifying–literally grounding. It kept you in your place, reminding you of precisely who was in control because you knew you had nowhere else to go, your free will and autonomy robbed with something as simple as a touch. “Your punishment is of a different sort.”
The other prisoners led away by the ever-shrinking head of plum-toned hair only isolated you two further, a lump forming in your throat when the doors to this newfound prison cell closed behind Kafka, and you could no longer feel the previously dense presence. A room once full of four or more, is now only occupied by two. Only you, and Blade.
You were nervous to speak. Not nervous to say the wrong thing, you felt no fear of angering him. You just knew that you were utterly fucked, and that it would be easier if you simply started things off yourself. You were only nervous to kick off the inevitable, be it death or endless torture. But waiting would only make things worse, this you also knew. Nerves be damned, it would be better to face your reprimand than to let anxiety fester. Did you really want your final moments to be ones where you cowered in fear? Did you really want to let Blade win, to have the last laugh?
“What’s my punishment? Stab wounds equal to my crimes committed?” it was blurted out, the shakiness of your voice making the words jumble together and be spoken too quickly, entirely giving away what state you were in. How embarrassing, how pathetic.
A hoarse chuckle followed your pitiful little interrogation.
“No.”
His hand slid down your neck and across your shoulders as he walked tantalizingly slowly to stand in front of you–between you and the door, signifying just how trapped you really were. Now you faced him with eyes in line with his chest, not daring to meet his gaze that still burned into and through you despite how willfully you ignored it. Thankfully, when he applied extra pressure to your shoulder and caused you to collapse onto your knees before him, you could at least stare down at his shoes and separate yourself from his immediate proximity that much more. Though this new position rattled you even further, you knew exactly what awaited you–
“–A beheading.” Your voice was an octave lower than normal, likely due to that persistent lump in your throat that slowly began to prevent you from being able to breathe properly now that reality was setting in.
He had the nerve to laugh again. But his verbal confirmation of your guess didn’t come, instead, a physical one did–a frigid steel meeting with the side of your neck, instantly threatening the radiating heat of your skin with a chill. This was it. You wanted to say something more, tell him to get it over with and to stop prolonging the inescapable, yet paralysis held you beyond physicality.
Your voice was entirely gone now, mind having abandoned cohesivity when scenes of your life began appearing within it, replaying all of your wrongdoings and emphasizing what exactly you had done to dishonour Blade and land yourself here in the first place. What an absolute fool you were, living for cheap thrills and delinquency, daring to enjoy the chases prior to your capture with the assumption of eternal freedom, the assumption that you would always outsmart Blade because he hadn’t caught you yet. Now that you were imprisoned, now that you were caught and met by the very sword that would deliver your demise within the grasp of the man you purposefully teased and evaded… you just wished you could start all over again. Maybe now you could; perhaps death would allow you to reincarnate into a soft and sweet animal, something like a small sparrow or a wild rabbit, so you could live your life primally and peacefully, with no games or deception. Simply fulfilling your life's purpose as nature intends.
The pressure was suffocating, it felt as though the sharpness only carved deeper into your flesh, leaving you with a memorable scar before you were completely decapitated. Gradual ringing invaded your ears as you swallowed hard and tried to conceal your fear, hands beginning to shake as you weakly brought them to meet behind your back, taking on a more honourable position to maintain some semblance of dignity in your last moments.
Last moments.
You weren’t ready to die. Not yet. You had wasted so much precious time being such an idiot, you knew that there was more to life than that, you couldn’t die now–
The sound of a button coming undone followed by the shrill peal of a zipper being pulled down nullified the chaos of your thoughts in an instant. The ringing you once heard had faded out, a newfound deafening silence making the room feel awfully heavy around you. You were unable to control the wandering of your eyes as they panned up to see Blade’s free hand at the front of his pants, nudging them down until they scrunched at his upper thighs.
His lips slowly turned up in a devilish smirk, one you could see clearly in your periphery even as you quickly cast your eyes back down in a panic, breaths becoming heavier to compensate for the rapidly increasing beats of your heart. You truly wished that your basic common sense was lesser, that you were an idiot in more ways than the one that brought you to your current position so you couldn’t tell exactly where this was headed.
He couldn’t possibly be planning to do something so vile with you.
A sudden swishing sound made you gasp, a quick flash of light before your eyes made them widen as the weapon that was once at your neck was now tipped against the ground in front of you, parallel with your alignment. The sway of your clothes followed the movement with a slight delay, and the newfound cool air hitting the skin of your torso let you realize that he had sliced your shirt; now it hung pathetically off of your shoulders and was nearly exposing the more intimate area of your chest. Instinctively, your hands moved before your thoughts could form as you tried to pull it back up, to prevent it from falling off entirely and cover what little remained of your dignity.
“Stop.” Now the tip of his sword hit your chin, nicking it slightly as he added force behind the touch to tilt your head up, giving you no other option than to stare up at him. You winced, heat flooding the small wound as it began to bleed. With hands frozen in front of you following his command, you could only squeeze your eyes shut to try and shrink in on yourself, feeling the material of your severed shirt brush down your arms as it slid, resting at the curves of your elbows.
You heard him exhale heavily as your breasts were now exposed, you were trying to control the way your body began to tremble; knowing that he would feel the vibrations of it through his sword if you didn’t calm down. Would your nerves only excite him further?
His rustling continued on, you refused to let your eyes peer open as desperately curious as they were to watch while he pulled his undergarments down to where his pants were, freeing himself from such confines. He let out a growl-like sigh and you assumed he had done so successfully, the sound of flesh rubbing against flesh letting you know that he began stroking himself. This sound made one of your eyes peer open instinctively to watch in bewilderment–was he really doing this now? This was how he got off? You regretted regaining vision immediately, the way his eyes remained so intensely trained on you, unblinking, sent something horrible through you. A disgusting rush of anticipation.
As eagerly as you wished to, you couldn’t deny your attraction to Blade. Of course, nobody had ever asked you about such an absurdity, but you couldn’t deny it even to yourself. As you feigned disgust, scrunched your nose up, and scowled at his lewd movements and the increasingly wet sound they began to make; the way his inky hair fell over his carmine eyes that seemed to glow beneath the strands, that simper which only seemed to widen more devilishly the clearer your confliction became to him, made you wholly weak.
“Blade–”
“You don’t have permission to speak.” His words showed how stable his composure was in this state, no trembling or stuttering was to be heard. His fingers danced over his tip, running over his slit and the underside of his cock, causing him to release a hiss through his teeth. You swallowed hard and felt your nerves light up at the sound, attempting to take a deep breath that would allow your lungs to refill and not move enough for the steel to poke further into your skin. Thankfully though, Blade removed it from you and let it rest at his side instead.
Relief did not last for very long at all, because he shuffled closer to you now, the tips of his shoes coming into contact with your knees. Being forced to keep your head up meant that he was now inches from your face, and you flinched back–but not away–when he abruptly held the heavy tip of his cock against your bottom lip, his skin tender and warm as he brushed it against you and smeared his precum over your lip like a gloss.
“You know what to do.”
With hidden inhibitions deciding to take over, your body acted on its own once your tongue darted out to get a taste of him. He chuckled in amusement, surely he was surprised by your immediate obedience, and it tapered off into a hum when you didn’t even bother to stop there, lips slowly wrapping around the shape of him to suck his tip into your mouth. His stance remained firm, not even thrusting in time with the light bobbing of your head, instead seeming to channel his focus into keeping his gaze locked on your every move; eyes hardly flitting as they switched from your own to your mouth.
The rebellious feeling of adrenaline that tingled within as you put on your best performance was exhilarating. Even as your mind asked why you were so quick to obey your biggest enemy, you already knew why. You’d always wanted to get laid by him, always feeling your panties dampen when running away from him post-battle; thrilled by the bloodlust-induced look in his eyes as he watched you scamper off, while you were left to wonder what would happen if you accidentally tripped or stumbled and let him catch you sooner. Now you knew exactly what would happen, and you were so glad that it finally was. Could it be that the tension was mutual, or was he simply using you because you were right here? You needed to find out.
As you slid your tongue along the underside of his shaft and squeezed your lips a little tighter, letting your cheeks hollow, Blade’s chest heaved and you could tell that it was a slip-up.
“Enough.” He muttered the word, but his delivery did not make it any less firm and commanding. You were just getting started, disappointed to be stopped so soon, and embarrassment started to creep in when his expression didn’t show any sort of contentment from your service following his deep breath; if anything, he looked the complete opposite of content, brows furrowed in a way that seemed bored. Was the slip-up so impactful on his pride that he couldn’t show you some kind of appreciation? Before you could even gauge what he thought of you based on his body language, you were shoved by the shoulder off your knees and onto your ass, landing with a grunt on the cool concrete.
He mounted you quickly, though before your faces could get too close you were spun around and pressed down flat to your stomach, cheek squished against the ground. His fingers dug into your abdomen as he grabbed your hips and lifted them roughly, making quick work of your bottoms and exposing your wetness to the cool air sooner than you expected. Instinctively, you tried to move away to regain some dignity following the new vulnerability, but he felt your resistance and tightened his grip, making your muscles tense up, and a small “ow” left your lips even though it wasn’t actually enough to hurt. He seemed to have heard it, alleviating you by moving his hands to grab your own, holding them out and above your head as the tip of his cock prodded at your entrance, his hip bones sharp against your asscheeks.
“This is the price you have to pay.”
The whine you let out as he pushed in was humiliating, biting your bottom lip to try and suppress it didn’t work very well as being filled so deeply right away was nothing short of delicious. Any pain brought by the initial push of his cock was immediately quelled and replaced with hot pleasure, made stronger by the way he pulsed inside of you every time your walls couldn’t help but clench around him. As you lifted your head to try and take in a breath to calm yourself, you felt Blade’s warm cheek press against yours, becoming impossibly closer to him in an act that was too tender. He hadn’t pulled out to make a full thrust just yet, instead taking his time in smothering you with his presence; breath too hot as it cascaded down your neck, body too large as it encapsulated yours entirely, so warm even through the many layers of his clothes–which reminded you of just how bare he had you by comparison.
As his cock pushed deeper into your womb and his hair began to hang in your periphery, such a sensory overload caused you to forget about your current privileges. Or rather, lack thereof.
“Blade, I–”
A hand left yours to grab your neck.
“Your rebellion never stops, does it? Not even as I punish you” he bucked his hips like a reminder of what he was doing to you, poking sharply at your cervix and causing you to see stars for a moment, a silent moan croaking in your throat. He chuckled, and you felt the vibration of it against your back, through your torso. “What is it?”
“Why?” it was strained, but you knew such a simple question needed no further explanation. He chortled once more, letting his fingers up slightly so he could stroke his thumb along the side of your neck.
“Because,” He had started to rock his hips slowly and deeply as he spoke, effectively clouding your mind (perhaps purposefully) and causing his next words to only half register; “I’ve always liked you.”
Then he pulled out completely, giving you a brief moment of pause before rutting into you hard, making you gasp for air as he started with a pace that showed no mercy while he held you completely still, locked in place so he could fuck you how he pleased; fast and like a brute.
“Always such a minx, don’t think that I never noticed how you looked at me. I know you like me too, you want this.” His grip on your neck slid higher up so he could tilt your head back, darting his tongue out to lick and then nip at your skin. “Though the real question that I have is, for how long have you wanted this?”
A semblance of annoyance began to sprout within you, it would fully fester if he really expected a response when it was clear that you were in no state to answer, and not just because of your restricted airway. Your legs began to shake with every stroke, your pussy was squeezing him tighter, forcing his thrusts to stay deep as you pulled him inside. All you could get out were small whimpers, hardly forming syllables. He had to have understood what he was doing to you, but he managed to seem displeased with your receptiveness to his movements, growling at your lack of anything comprehensive.
“It appears this repercussion has become more of a reward.” He pulled out of you so soon, halting all motions and causing you to release a cry of protest, turning your head to see where he was going as he lifted himself off of your back, though he forced you to stay arched for him, taking his hand off of your neck in favour of pushing your head down to the floor, disallowing you from seeing him at all. “You can’t even answer a simple question, so why should I continue to reward you?”
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled, tears actually forming in your eyes because it felt so good to be filled up by him that you were mourning the loss of such delectation. His fingers tangled through your hair and he lifted your head with a fistful. He leaned forward to keep his voice by your ear and you could feel his cock brush against your inner thighs as he did, making your legs twitch in desperation.
“That still isn’t an answer.”
“I’ve wanted this since the day we met!” you sobbed, the words slurred as you subconsciously pushed your hips back against him, unable to wait any longer. His form remained solid, allowing you to writhe and squirm like an insect as he kept you right under his thumb. If he was smart enough to know that taking pleasure away from you would get him what he wanted, you feared that he already knew what your answer was going to be and only did this to torture you.
Silence ensued. Barely any response on his part, frustrating you even further and bringing even more tears to your waterlines.
“I know.”
Your body jumped in delight when you felt something finally move in to soothe the ache in your core. Blade swirled the tip around your pussy lips and you were expecting him to pick up where he left off, though upon feeling an extreme precision behind the movements of whatever just entered you, you realized that he was fingering you–it had been his fingertips that were teasing you at first, but now he was knuckle deep, fingers crossing and prodding over your sweet spot with terrifying accuracy. You suppressed a squeal when he used his middle and index to push down against it, making a pulsing motion. Each pulse made your muscles twitch and soft, breathy moans escape you. You missed the feeling of his cock rubbing against your walls, though the incredible accuracy that he managed to deliver with his hand made up for it completely.
“Improvement… but it seems I still have to work on you. Many prices to pay, indeed” he dared to let out a hoarse laugh, finding himself too funny as you were left a breathless mess on the ground below him, trying not to completely collapse as your body trembled.
He started to pick up the pace then, pushing in harder and much faster now, forcing your pleasure to crest much sooner than you felt ready for. Your heart raced as your body lit up from zero to one hundred, you came with a loud cry and felt your orgasm squirt onto his hand before you could even try to control yourself. Blade cackled again, more boisterous this time as he matched his hand to the rhythm of your pussy throbbing around it, slowing more and more until you ceased all motions.
What you hadn’t expected was for him to completely let go of you once you had settled down, your head almost thumped into the ground had you not braced yourself quickly enough, your hips falling with no grace as you lay limp and weak. Blurrily, you could see him standing up and tucking himself back into his pants, seeming to have already cleaned his hand (you could have sworn there was a newfound glimmer on his lips following this revelation, you didn’t have to guess what from). It took every last bit of strength you could muster to ask him a question that was just above a whisper:
“Where are you goi–”
“A Stellaron Hunter’s day of work is never truly over. I’ll be back for you later. Reflect on your actions for now” he cut you off.
That was all he had to offer before he strode to the door, opened it, and slid out swiftly, almost without a trace; had you not still been in such a state of disarray following the rapid orgasm you had just experienced by his hand, your mind full of nothing but Blade. With him so prevalent in your thoughts, you figured the best thing you could do right now was obey his command. Reflect upon what got you here, what an amazing result of your getting caught this was. You’d have done so intentionally and so much sooner had you known the lust was mutual.
Fatigue set in quickly, your eyes fell closed and your breath slowed as soon as you were completely flat on the ground again. With your body tingling pleasantly from the aftershocks, you were able to slumber without any concern. None about where you would go from here, whether it would be with Blade or not, and if he would get you better accommodations or keep you in this cell like the prisoner you now were. Choosing to wear rose-coloured glasses would certainly benefit you in the long run, you couldn’t possibly know just how much of a prisoner Blade planned to keep you going forward.

masterlist !
"OKAY SHE'S HERE!" you hear inside the apartment.
you were standing outside your girlfriend's door picking her up for your date. wearing a flowy, lacy white top with blue jeans, you carried a picnic basket in one hand while the other knocked lightly on the door.
you wait a few seconds, listening to the giggles and shuffling around on the other side. you were nervous, to say the least. you and aubrey had been dating for a month now and this was the first time you would be meeting her teammates.
you knew how much they meant to her, how much she cared about them, so you wanted to make a good impression so as to eventually become close friends with them.
when the door finally opens, you are faced with your girlfriend, who is smiling beautifully down at you (even though she's only two inches taller than you).
"hi, princess," she greets you, placing a sweet kiss on your cheek.
"hi, baby," you reply with a blush on your cheeks.
"aubrey!" you hear a voice call out from inside, "you wanna let her in or are you just gonna have us line up at the door to say hi?"
"shut up, paige!" she replies, "please come in, and ignore what she just said."
you simply giggle at her response, the sound making your girlfriend smile even bigger as you make your way into the apartment.
immediately, you are welcomed by two of aubrey's roommates: one with blond hair flowing down her back and another dark brown hair tied in a bun. they sat at a corner table assembling a lego set before they got up from their seats.
"what's up? i'm paige," the blonde says, holding her hand out to you.
"hi paige, i'm y/n, it's nice to meet you," you respond kindly, shaking her hand.
"hey, you too. aubrey talks about you literally non-stop, so it's nice to put a face to the name."
"non-stop, huh?" you smirk to your girlfriend standing behind you.
"she's lying," aubrey says, sending paige a glare.
"i'm not lying," paige mouths with a shake of her head.
you laugh at their bickering before you turn your head to introduce yourself to the brunette next to paige.
"hi, y/n! i'm jana, it's so great to finally meet you!" she says brightly.
"same to you, jana," you start, holding your hand out for a handshake. you are slightly taken aback when she pulls you in for a quick hug, but you relax into it almost immediately, her friendly demeanor easing some of your awkward nerves.
"god, you're, like, beautiful, how the hell did you end up with aubrey?" she states once you are let out of the hug.
"hey!," aubrey protests.
"thank you so much," you beam, "you're gorgeous, so that means a lot."
"please, i would kill to have lashes like yours! what mascara do you use?"
"oh, i just use-"
"alright we'll save that for another time, yeah? we still gotta meet the rest of the team and make our date so," aubrey interrupts, gently guiding you past the two girls and over to the set of bedrooms down the hall.
"rude!" you hear jana complain, making you giggle.
"okay so i actually kinda lied, only some of the team is here, the others are out somewhere doing something so..." aubrey explains.
"that's okay, i can just meet them another time, right?"
"for sure," she confirms, "yo, kk! ice!"
aubrey knocks on a slightly cracked-open door before pushing it open. inside are two girls sitting at the edge of a bed, eyes glued to the television in front of them as their hands tightly clutch game controllers.
"wassup, aubrey?" the shorter one says, still focused on the game.
"we got a guest."
"alright, we gon' get off soon, just gotta finish this round."
"guys."
"what?" one of them asks, finally turning her head to us, "oh my god! you must be aubrey's girlfriend!"
"finally," aubrey rolls her eyes playfully.
"girl, you did not just roll your eyes at me," she says before turning back to you, "she has no manner sometimes, right?"
"sometimes," you play along with a grin.
"man, kk-" aubrey starts.
"so, y/n! i'm kk, the best player on this team, it's nice to meet you!"
"it's nice to meet you, too! were you guys playing a video game?"
"yeah, we were playing-"
"okay irrelevant, my turn," the taller girl says, "i'm ice and i just wanted to apologize on kk's behalf for her immature introduction."
"you guys are funny," you say, pointing to the two girls before you, "it's great to meet you guys, for real."
"thank you for appreciating us," kk says, placing a hand on her heart playfully, "your girlfriend doesn't seem to have the same brilliant sense of humor as you."
"kk i'm literally gonna-"
"y'all goin' on a little date today right? wouldn't want y'all to be late or nothin' so we don't wanna keep you here too long," she cuts off aubrey again.
"yes, we are going out, so we'll be leaving now actually," aubrey responds, placing a hand on your waist to guide you back out to the living room.
"you guys heading out?" paige asks, looking up from the colorful bricks in front of her.
"yeah, i don't know where the others are so we're just gonna take off," aubrey replies.
"yo, y/n, you gotta come back here soon to meet the rest of the girls, they would love you," ice offers as she sits on the couch with kk following her.
"definitely," you smile, "i'd love to come back, you guys seem really fun to be around."
"they're alright..." aubrey jokes.
"okay, because she said that, we'll all tell you embarrassing stories about her next time," jana says.
"i hate you guys," aubrey rolls her eyes playfully.
"i would actually love to hear those stories one day," you say.
"okay perfect, we'll see you soon, then?"
"definitely."
"oh! we also gon’ tell you about how aubrey literally talks about you all the time," kk says, "i mean, seriously, this girl is obsessed-"
"look at the time! we gotta go, y'know, date and everything so," aubrey interrupts, pointing to the door, "you all good here, princess?" she whispers to you.
"'princess'?" the girls laugh.
"wow, aubrey, didn't take you for such a gentlewoman!" paige jokes.
"yeah, you know she hasn't let go of y/n's hand since she got here?" jana announces with a smirk.
"damn, aubrey, can't keep your hands to yourself?" kk says.
"okay i really need you guys to shut up now," she send a glare to all of them.
"it was great meeting all of you guys, i can't wait to hear those stories about aubrey," you pant through genuine laughter. you were amused by their teasing, and even more by aubrey's flushed expression.
even though you had been in their apartment for less than an hour, you had already grown to love your girlfriend's friends. they seemed like truly fun people who love to joke around.
most of your own friends were from classes, so most of your conversations were blandly about said classes. the basketball players' companies would be a nice addition to your life.
as you walk hand-in-hand with your girlfriend out the door, you hear the girls call out one final time.
"bye, princess!"
you giggle at their reference to aubrey's nickname for you as you wave to them before the door is closed.
"yeah, that's gotta change," aubrey says.
"what?"
"only i can call you princess," she mumbles grumpily.
you personally find her annoyance adorable, and love how defensive she is with you.
"of course, baby," you say, and after a few seconds of silence, "so...you talk about me all the time?"
"maybe..." she replies shyly, "but now i gotta kill them for exposing me like that. uncalled for."

Okay, no more blowtorch - leave it to the pro! It would kill him if you got hurt on his watch, he's meant to protect you!
✿ He's made up a comfy little alcove in his workshop so you can keep him company while he's working. Soft cushions, blankets, lights so can work on your own hobbies, it's perfect! Even when you were just friends, you were always welcome there, and it's become your little safe space. It's comfy enough to fall asleep there when Franky works late, and he even modified it so that there is room for him to sleep there too. While hanging out, you'll talk about everything, and nothing, what you're both working on, or you'll simply listen to music and enjoy each others presence, and that often leads to loud singing, especially on Franky's part. He'll share his cola with you too, you just bring the snacks - can't work on an empty stomach after all!
Robin
✿ Robin is very calm and reserved, especially compared to the rest of the crew, so her way of showing affection follows the same pattern. She'll put a gentle hand on your arm, and touch your foreheads together, but her favourite thing to do is to grow an arm out of your own, reaching down to hold your hand, all while on the other side of the room, smiling to herself. If your eyes are sharp, you'll catch the delicate blush on her cheeks when you bring your arm up to kiss her hand, or gently hold it to your cheek. She'll also make a pair of arms to wrap around your waist, or shoulders if you're sat down. She'll hold you personally too, but that is saved for your private quarters or the library.
✿ Part of her flirting is making dark comments and jokes; "I know the best way to your heart, dear." - "Through my stomach?" - "Oh no, that's not very efficient! It's anywhere between the 2nd and 4th ribs." She'll say it with such a loving gaze and gentle smile, and if you didn't know Robin better, you'd be worried she was plotting your murder, but that's just how she is, and you love her for it. She will also tell you all the gruesome details she finds in her books and research. Part of you suspects that she's purposefully trying to spook you so she can comfort you, but really she just finds these thing fascinating. Robin will be ecstatic if you can match her gallows humour, or if you have morbid facts of your own you can share with her.
✿ She takes great comfort in the fact that you love her unconditionally, and that you have always accepted her as she is, morbid interests, and former associations included, and she makes sure that you know she loves you all the same, no matter your quirks, flaws, and mistakes, for that is the beauty of love! You are each others port in the unrelenting storm of life.
Law
✿ Law is so used to losing the people he loves most, so for him to open up, it will take a lot of time, patience, and understanding. You can't push him on things, and will have to wait for him to come to you - he needs to feel like he has some control over the situation so he can make better judgement calls, and do something if it all goes wrong. It's nothing personal, he just doesn't want to helplessly watch his world fall apart again; he's older, smarter, and much stronger now, he will keep those he cares about safe. Once he's at that point where he feels like he's ready to be open and honest, he is completely dedicated and doggedly loyal, though he isn't very expressive with it.
✿ He shows his love through acts of service; making sure you are eating and sleeping well, tending any injuries you get in day to day life, moving you if you've fallen asleep in a weird place or position so you don't get any aches and pains, or catch a cold. Law hopes that you can feel the love he has for you in each action. He just wants to know you are healthy and well so he doesn't need to worry about you. Well, he says that, but he still worries, he can't help it. You'll need to use his own tactics against him to make sure he actually sleeps and eats instead of just working. It won't always work, sometimes he's working on things that are far too important, but he will relent otherwise.
✿ PDA is not a thing for him. At all. It's almost like he doesn't want to jinx things with the world seeing he has entrusted his heart with another again. On the Polar Tang, when it's just you and the crew, he'll be a little more open, placing a hand on your head or shoulder, matching your pace as he walks beside you, slightly gentler eyes, and the hint of a smile; so subtle, yet the crew sees right through him, and they like to tease you both. Nothing serious, but it still gets them the worst chores in response. In private, when you are alone is the only time will he allow himself to be vulnerable.
Kid
✿ Given how intense and aggressive he is, you have the patience of a goddamn saint, and guts to back you up. He refuses to lessen himself for anyone; he is who he is, and you can either accept it and embrace him fully, or you can, in his words, "Fuck right off!" It will take a lot to break through the immense barriers he has - he will shout, argue, insult, and to get through, you have to be able to withstand that without crumbling. Shout back! Show him you're not gonna let anyone walk all over you, not even him, earn his respect, then you can build up from there. Once you've wormed your way into that exclusive club of 'We aren't Killer, but Kid still cares about us," he will be ride or die with you, and when he realises he genuinely likes you, or hell, even loves you, he would burn down the world for you if you asked him to.
✿ Out in public, you get no special treatment. It's just safer that way. He can't afford to be looking over his shoulder every other minute to make sure no one is trying to get to him through you. He'll still keep an eye on you of course, but it's indistinguishable from him watching over the rest of the crew. On the Victoria Punk he will be possessive, but not affectionate. Kid will keep you by his side, or drag you onto his lap, just generally manhandling you really, there will be no mistaking who you belong to. Once you're alone he will actually soften up; he knows he's a lot, and he cares deep down, but he's still in charge, he is your captain after all. You should take advantage of this time to get all the affection out of him that you can!
✿ You're one of the few that are actually allowed to hang in his workshop, as long as you don't bother him. He'll entertain some conversation if he's just setting up, or having a break, but once he's in the zone, zip it. He's fine with you watching him work - he's good at what he does and he knows it, but seeing the admiration in your eyes is a nice ego boost. He'll make you things if the mood hits him, particularly bits of jewellery, as it makes it easier to manhandle you from the other side of the room. He's a busy man, he doesn't want to wait for you to look his way and walk over, he wants your attention now!
Killer
✿ Like Kid, Killer has a tendency to manhandle, but it's not nearly as aggressive; he's a big guy with big, strong muscles, and he just enjoys hauling you around like a sack of potatoes. It gives him the opportunity to hold you close, 'accidentally' touch your butt, and your laughter through it all is just so sweet. He greatly enjoys your presence when he's going about his day, and deeply appreciates any assistance you can offer, such as in the kitchen, and certainly when trying to manage his idiot best friend and crew, as he's essentially the de facto caretaker on board. Often you'll end up sat on his shoulders, acting as an extra pair of eyes and hands - no shenanigans go unnoticed!
✿ You have become an expert at reading Killer's moods and expressions through his mask, every slight shift of his body, and the angle of his head has a very specific meaning. It doesn't help that he's a quiet man in general; balancing Kid's incessant ranting and raving with his well thought out, straight to the point statements. He much prefers to listen to you talk, only talking when he has something to add to the mostly one-sided conversation. He loves having these 'chats' with you sat in his lap, head resting against his broad chest. Sometimes his goatee will tickle the top of your head, and he lives for those giggles.
✿ It will take a long time for him to feel comfortable enough to remove his mask, and you can bet he refuses to laugh around you for the longest time. Just be patient with him, and let him do things when he's ready, and don't make a big deal out of it if something slips; he'll be pretty mortified, so just giving him a loving smile and a gentle touch will reassure him that maybe the things he's insecure about, or straight up hates, aren't as big an issue as he believes them to be. Telling him he is perfect is appreciated, but not effective in building him up, since nothing is perfect really, but seeing you love him unconditionally certainly will give him a boost.

religious!johnny mactavish x afab! reader smut bc i said so
ONE LAST POST I SWEAR and then i will sleep except not rlly bc its 8am and i have to get ready for a virtual meeting RRR
ANYWAYS.
cw — afab! reader, nothing too spicy, foreplay, pnv, religious corruption ig?? idk, johnny is just too damn horny for his own good and hes a good christian boy n all but…. pussy go brr
johnny had always been devoted to his faith, going to church with his wee grandma ever since he could walk n talk. swears to himself and the big man in the sky when he came of age that he’d wait for the one, he’d save himself for marriage as god intended him to do.
you were agnostic at best, but that was fine to him. you respected his faith, you even attended church with him when he occasionally goes! a loving, supportive partner — that’s all he could ever ask for.
well, not really.
see, you’re so damn pretty. such a pretty thing, all snuggled up in the crook of his arm as you two lay in bed, watching a movie before you’ll eventually go to sleep. he told you from day one that he wants to wait until marriage, it’s important to him. and you respect that! you do occasionally find yourself pouting whenever your friends gloat about their sex lives, and you just kinda have to go “ahahaha yep, still haven’t gotten fucked by johnny yet. still ain’t married—“ awkwardly, and they playfully tease you about it but they don’t care. you’re in the most healthiest relationship you’d ever been in, they love him!
but i digress. his fingers gently stroke along the length of your arm, as they always do. he’s a bit of a fidgety fella, it’s the ol’ adhd, he tells you. so his fingers dance around the fabric of your tshirt, the texture is satisfying to the pads of his fingertips. the movie continues on, and you giggle at a snarky quip someone makes. it makes his lips twitch up into a small grin, the sound of your giggle. his fingers are still absentmindedly touching around, and that’s when he accidentally grazes your boob.
and oh my god.
wait, what? it’s nothing like he’d ever felt before— he slyly looks down at you, to see if you’ve caught on. and with another sneaky swipe, that confirms it. his blood is running hot, and my god he can no longer concentrate. two fingers run across the swell of your breast from underneath your tshirt, you shiver as you look up at him. and god, you had never seen him look like that before. flared nostrils as his breathing grows heavy, his jaw clenched. “johnny—“ you mutter as he now begins to slowly paw at your soft breast, and it makes you whine at how good it feels to be touched like this.
"it's no like we're daein' anything serious here, aye? just some light pettin'." johnny justifies to himself as he mumbles into the crook of your neck as his hand darts under your shirt, groaning at the soft mounds of fat that jiggle with each grope. how much you whine and gasp as he pinches a peaked bud between his fingers. his cock is rock hard, screaming for attention. but he stops, borderline panting as he looks down at you. he looks guilty, but he has to restrain himself. he’s saving himself for marriage, remember?
you shyly scuttle off to the bathroom to finish yourself off, the tap running to hide the obscene squeals you make as you sit on the bathroom floor, one hand pressed over your mouth while the other rubs intricately tight circles around your throbbing clit. meanwhile, johnny’s stroking his cock just from the thought of what had just happened, groaning as he spills himself into a tissue.
he swore he would keep his virginity in tact for when you two finally got married.
"i'm savin' masel' for marriage, ye ken." he mutters as his fingers stroke the glistening folds of your puffy cunt, sucking the air through his teeth as his fingers coax every last tantalising moan from you as he fingers you, your hands wrapped around his cock as you mutually pleasure one another.
“it’s no sex,” he justifies to himself as you suck his cock, eyes half-lidded as one hand cups the base of his shaft, the other cupping his swollen, full balls with a wanton gaze in your eyes. “fuck, ye have no idea whit yer daein’ tae me.” he growls, fucking into your mouth slowly as his cross pendant thumps against his hairy chest with each buck of his hips.
“it’s just the tip, yeah?” as his heart races, his swollen tip rubbing into your clit, and you swear you’re fit to burst when just the tip, like he promises, slowly sinks into your pussy. he grips onto the pillows besides your head, his eyes glossed over as he tries so hard not to cum right then and there. his breathing is rugged, his pupils narrow as he slowly sinks himself deeper inside you. you both moan together, sweat glossed foreheads pressed against one another as you two join in a debauched union.
“fuck me— ye feel fuckin’ divine.” he growls as he pulls out, slamming his hips right into you with a snarl. “gonnae cum so fuckin’ fast, baby girl. fuck, look at ye.” he says between rugged breaths, eyes bearing right down at you as you tighten and pulse around his cock, eyes fluttering as you cum right then and there. fuck, the wait— or lack there of it — was worth it. with a couple of lazy, sporadic thrusts, johnny spills himself inside you with a primal roar, his knuckles white as he grips the sheets while your velvety vice of a pussy milks him of every last drop of the thick ropes of cum churned from his now drained balls.
in the haze of it all, johnny groans as he pulls out, his eyes fixated on the sight of his cum dripping out of your puffy cunt. his fingers crook up into you, gently pumping his essence right back inside of you. “better have a wee chat with the big man upstairs about this. fuck, no that i could resist this. christ, look at the sight of ye.” he chuckles, his thumb grazing against your swollen clit with an affectionate smile.
“i mean, fuck me, am gonnae marry ye so fast if it means i get tae do this all the time.”

chan and his 1st child/yt.com
creator. [subtitles/translations.]
𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔 intro: hello my fellow smoothbrained friends. welcome or welcome back! today we will be taking a look at some bangju moments over the past (almost) 6 years with stray kids that never fail to warm my heart <3 if you like these kinds of posts consider interacting or sharing your favorite moment! thank you! now to what we’re really here for :)
𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔 stray kids survival show
splayed under the blue light from his computer screen, chan’s dexterity over the mouse begins to slow followed by heavy eyes fighting against the cozy weight of gravity lulling him to sleep, his loss against this force signified by his slowed, deep breaths.
[using the track as a lullaby, he goes straight to dreamland]
speeding up the footage reveals a better understanding as to how long he really sat asleep in his chair until a cut transitions to his new position leaned against the back, somewhat sitting up still with the room light shining bright as ever above his head.
[but, it sounds like someone’s at the door!]
soft shuffling footsteps reveal a squinting juyeon with major bed-head. [it’s the members’ mother hen!] carefully she reaches across the sleeping boy to his mouse, sliding it around on his track pad a bit clicking here and there, and then the screen goes black. [taking care of the leader making sure his work was saved. but…] she then turns and waddles out of view again. [what is she doing?]
the audible flip of a light switch shrouds the room in darkness, and from within this darkness, juyeon’s whispered coos could be heard.
[JY: oppa. come on,]
[BC: hm?]
[JY: to bed. everything is saved, just get under the covers.]
[~hardworking leader chan gets tucked in bed by angel juyeon, who looks after the member responsible for the rest. as long as he’s got her by his side, chan’s well taken care of.~]
[JY: sleep well, channie~]
𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔 finding skz running man
stopping near the carousel in the center of the mall chan sighs heavily with his hands on his hips, catching his breath as he scanned over the layout once more. “ah — i really don’t know. i haven’t seen her at all.”
after pausing to listen for any movement within the building - and only hearing the commotion from the other boys - chan turns with a mischievous smile toward the camera man “do you know where she is? have you seen her?”
[meanwhile…]
cut to juyeon narrowly avoiding seungmin as he came down the hall, crouching to duck behind one of the arcade machines just in time for him to pass by without noticing the older girl. the second she decided he was far enough was when she took off in the opposite direction with the cameramen racing to keep up with her.
juyeon comes to a stop once she reaches the main room, the lights from the carousel twinkling in her wide eyes once she spots the blonde boy across the room.
[like a deer in the headlights, billie appears!]
chan is already looking in her direction as he throws his hands up mousily. “wait,” he says, masking the ulterior motives apparent to everyone but juyeon “will you help me?”
“help you?” she repeats, still as a statue whilst chan ambles over to bridge the gap between them. [will she fall for the leader's trick?]
“have you seen felix?”
a suspicious smile grows on juyeon's lips as he draws closer and her own palms raise defensively, taking half a step back from the boy whose mask of innocence had begun to slip the closer he got. "oppa." she says like an accusation. a bright smile dawns on chan's face.
"i'm not after you."
juyeon is now fully backpedaling. [she doesn't believe him] "oppa, have mercy."
there is a brief pause as chan seemingly weighs his options with his eyes still locked on hers, his jolly grin becoming more and more pixy with each passing millisecond before he abruptly lunges forward for her with outstretched hands to grab her nametag. juyeon nearly threw herself into one of the pillars behind her to protect the name on her back.
"please! you're my favorite member!"
chan now stops just before her with eyebrows knitting together before he laughs at her interesting tactic. "i'm your favorite?"
"totally," juyeon giggles "especially when you give me a five second head start."
"more than changbin?" he adds, prodding at her will to bargain. she simply tilts her head.
"who?"
[and with that, the deal is sealed]
𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔 2 kids room
“honestly,” chan starts, removing the lollipop stuffed in his cheek as he sat criss-cross on the blue corduroy couch “i love this hair color on you.”
“really?” asked juyeon with a surprised smile, whose fiery red hair had become a hot topic recently. he hummed.
“i think red suits you well. of course you’re always pretty but the red really catches peoples eye.”
now giggling bashfully, juyeon subconsciously tucked an aforementioned red strand behind her ear to reveal her peachy cheeks, eyes sparkling with appreciation despite her response. "you've been suspiciously supportive recently — i feel like i need to look out for blackmail or something.”
“what is that supposed to mean?!” the leader shrilled, almost pouting, arms flying to fold across his chest teasingly at her insinuation. however, this feigned offense was quickly replaced by the smile accompanying his laughter at her mirroring of his demeanor.
“you know i can’t accept compliments!!”
“well! —” he began with the same chaotic energy before abruptly halting himself to instead dial it back with a nonchalant shrug “that’s okay, at least you know.”
juyeon, peeling open her eyes squeezed shut to hide from the embarrassment, now dropped the arms crossed tight against her chest and subsequently her guard. she spoke in a soft hum to mutter, “it is nice to know, though. i do appreciate it…”
“good. you should know how precious you are.”
“ew!”
𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔 chan’s room phone call
“hmm…was it a different name?” chan mumbles, more to himself than the stay watching his livestream as he searched for that particular day6 song he wanted to talk about, eyes quickly scanning over the titles in hopes of finding ‘the one.’
“oh! here it is.”
he begins playing ‘i loved you’ before sitting back in his chair to intently listen along with stay. it begins with the buzzing of crickets before jumping right into the members’ gorgeous and clear voices, and after only half a minute or so of nodding his head along with their labelmates past masterpiece, the discernible buzz of his phone against the table quickly catches his attention.
“oh!” he pauses the music to pick up his phone “it’s bibiya! let’s see what chu’s up to.”
chan answers her call below stay’s view, indicating that she’d actually facetimed him, made glaringly apparent by the bloop! as it connected. if that wasn’t evidence enough then surely juyeon’s squeaky voice coming through the speaker did, the leaders face lighting up prior to his laugh.
“sorry!! i just remembered about your live!”
chan quickly turned the volume down as he chuckled “it’s okay! the more the merrier. do you want to say hi?”
“yeah! can stay hear me?”
he nodded, eyes flicking up to filter through the live comments now buzzing with her name.
“helloooo stayyy! is channie entertaining you well? don’t forget about his weekly sunday live like i did. uh…make sure to eat well and get lots of rest!!”
chan would giggle before pulling his eyes from the comments and back to the screen out of view. “do you want me to call you back?” he asked quietly, wary of the audience listening in on the reason why she called “i’ll be done in 30.”
“oh — that’s okay — i just wanted to know if you still wanted to watch that movie with me tonight.”
the leaders eyebrows raised high, eyes panning up to the live almost like a scene from the office before looking back down at the girl on his screen.
“did you forget?”
“no! i remember!” he blatantly lied with a giggle “we’ll sit down to watch it as soon i get home, okay?”
there was an exasperated sigh before her response. “okayyyy. have fun with the rest of your live. bye bye stay!”
chan would mutter his own goodbyes to his bandmate before she hung up, and then his focus would immediately shift back up to the audience before him, a bashful blush dusting his cheeks as he laughed once more.
“i definitely forgot about the movie tonight. don’t tell joong.”
𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔 dinner w/ billie live
“okay, next!” juyeon turns from the pot of noodles boiling on the stovetop to then grab the jar of alfredo sauce on the counter “this is my favorite pasta of all time — after jjajangmyeon — so we’re gonna use a lot of it.”
the pajama-clad girl then attempts to open the lid using both hands, her face screwing together with pursed lips as she visibly uses all her might to twist the top off. “oh, man,” she wheezes, resting to glance up at the comments before trying again “it’s really on there!”
juyeon now readjusts her grip to get as much of her hand on the lid as possible, her other holding the jar tight as to not drop it before taking another shot at opening the precious sauce, nearly folding into herself at the waist as she once again fails to unscrew the lid.
“jeez! did they glue it on there or something?” she huffs “why is it so difficult? that’s so rude.”
for a moment she stands there in front of the camera, dumbfounded and red-faced as she looks over the jar like there was another method hidden underneath, before holding her index up to the audience now laughing at her struggles.
“hold on,” she says while backing toward one of the bedroom doors she’d banished the boys to while she was on live “don’t go anywhere! i’ll be back!”
thankfully, due to the positioning of the camera she’d set up in the kitchen, stay were still able to see juyeon as she waddled over to knock on one of the wooden doors with mumbles of ‘the stupid jar.’ this door would then open to reveal a comfy-looking and barefaced chan with a smile already on his face as he exited the darkness and entered the living room to take the jar from her.
it would only take him the few seconds of a walk back into the kitchen to then successfully pop open the blasphemous lid that had publicly defeated juyeon. he’d outwardly laugh as she stole the now-opened jar from his hands, a vexed frown on her lips.
“i loosened it for you.”
“oh i’m sure.”
𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔 stray kids survival show
[the members are hard at work, practicing their performance relentlessly to polish even the smallest of details before presenting themselves before jyp and yg in the morning]
the group looks wholly exhausted as the song then comes to a close, their heaving breaths and faces glistening with sweat acting as a visual indicator to how eager they were to give a good performance in front of not only their own boss but also yg and his trainees, hands flying to rest on their hips as they tromped over to their water bottles.
the boys’ quick disperse from the formation in the middle subsequently revealed a haggard-looking juyeon with her fingers interlocked behind her head. a quick zoom-in on the panting girl would expose her trembling bottom lip as she blinked rapidly before cranking her neck to look up at the lights on the ceiling.
[juyeon looks troubled]
chan, sitting in the right hand corner of the screen as he messed with the speaker, could be seen with his attentive leader gaze on the red-faced girl. to the untrained eye — namely the viewers watching who still didn’t know the members very well — his furrowed brow and pursed lips could easily be read as irritation towards the black sheep of the group. however, the speed with which he stood in order to be by her side after she turned her back indicated otherwise.
[leader chan is quick to check in on his members when they’re struggling]
“hey,” he hummed, placing a hand between her shoulders to seclude them from the other boys “you okay?”
chan’s soothing presence would be the catalyst that revealed juyeon’s true state even as her back was turned to the camera, face hidden from view as her frail, shaky voice exposed the tears she’d fought to conceal.
“yeah — sorry — ts’stupid”
“hey,” he’d say again, now moving to stand in front of her to catch her gaze “what’s up?”
juyeon shook her head, dropping her interlocked fingers to instead wipe the tears on her cheeks. “i don’t know — nothing — i’m good”
“talk to me, joong. you don’t have to find the right words, just tell me how you’re feeling.”
[although juyeon tried to hide her troubles, chan won’t let her suffer alone]
“m’just…scared. what they’ll think — what they’ll say…”
chan’s response was immediate; certain and encouraging as he brushed her hair from her face. “that’s okay, ju. it’s okay to be scared. it’s okay to worry about what people will think, we all do, but you can’t let it eat at you. they’ll say what they’re gonna say, but at the end of the day, you’re still the talented juyeon we know you are — you know you are. don’t let the fear stop you from doing what you love.”
with this, juyeon sighs. she stands there for a moment to take in his encouraging words, marinating his verbal and nonverbal support in her mind before nodding shortly once more.
“we’ll all be there to back you up, ju. always.”
[juyeon may be anxious about tomorrow, but she has her boys to stand behind her, and they’ll defend her to the ends of the earth]

Work is kinda hectic rn, my knees are NOT liking how much traveling between floors I have to do, and I am missing sleep like crazy so my WIPs are staying largely untouched but I HAD to push out this concept for a maybe-someday fic in the I'm down on my knees universe
Written for the free square day of @painlandweek . Have some hurt/comfort ft Charles and how he feels about his mum. Also belatedly tagging @ghostinthelibrarywrites bc I think you'll enjoy it and I accidentally posted a thing that was meant to stay a draft again xD
Charles is sitting on the doorstep. It's almost eight PM on a weeknight, Edwin is just back from a fun-study session—which is really just Maren's way of saying she wants beer with her textbooks—tired, brain swimming with texts of law, and more than a little tipsy... And Charles Rowland is sitting on his doorstep. His building's doorstep. The difference is irrelevant.
Caught off guard, Edwin blinks, and stares at Charles.
He is curled up on the ground, spine back in that parenthesis shape it had back in school. His elbows are on his knees, hands buried into the hair at the back of his neck, his eyes closed. Edwin takes in the tension in Charles' shoulders, the way the fading sunlight catches the green vines tattooed on his left forearm, the slow, deliberate depth of movement around his ribcage, and decides against calling out to him. Instead, Edwin walks up to him until Charles can no longer ignore the footsteps, and waits for him to speak.
"Hi," Charles says, muffled, from between his elbows.
"Hi," Edwin replies, chest twisting when the last hope he had that Charles was just a bit tired evaporates like rhum from a flambé.
He steps forward again, then ignores the fresh layer of summer dust on the steps and sits down next to Charles, deliberately picking a position that makes their hips and shoulders touch. Charles leans into it immediately, turning a light contact into solid pressure, and Edwin sighs. Things could be worse.
"I did not expect you tonight," Edwin prompts, trying to make himself as gentle as he can.
Tuesday nights are when Charles and Niko's dance classes take place. Edwin has never known either of them to miss one, so Charles' presence here is one more sign that whatever is going on is not to be taken lightly. As if to confirm Edwin's suspicions, Charles sighs, and mumbles:
"I ran into my mum."
Edwin freezes. For some reason, in the few months since he and Charles reunited, it never quite clicked for him that Charles' parents, for all that Charles hasn't had any contact with them for nearly eight years now, exist in the same world they do. London is such a large, dense city, it is easy to make your life in a corner of it and never step outside its boundaries. Edwin's parents certainly treat Kensington like an insular country only worth leaving for the richer shores of Mayfair, when they deign to visit the capital at all. Just like Edwin and Charles existed less than ten minutes away from each other for months without having a clue, the possibility of him running into Mr. or Mrs. Rowland by accident did not even cross Edwin's mind. Nor Charles', from the look of things.
"That must have been a shock," Edwin says.
He does not know enough to infuse more feelings into his response. Charles, for all that he shares his smiles, his affections and the chief of his worldly possessions freely, has remained incredibly tight lipped about his past. The summary of what Edwin knows of Charles' youth is quite easy to make.
Fact the first: at the age of sixteen, not one term into his stay at St. Hilarion's School for Boys, Charles Rowland jumped into a pool full of a deadly allergy trigger to save Edwin's life.
Fact the second: for the remainder of that school year, Charles endeavoured to make Edwin's life as painless as possible. His presence remains, by far, the brightest highlight of Edwin's adolescence.
Fact the third: at the age of seventeen, or near enough, Charles ran away from what he described as a bad home situation exactly once and proceeded never to mention again. It is Edwin's understanding that Charles may have escaped with nothing but the clothes on his back that day.
Two of those facts, Edwin knows because he was a direct witness to them, and the third was only shared with him because he accidentally made it an implicit condition to renewing his acquaintance with Charles.
Charles Rowland is not an emotional sharer, and Edwin is sort of at a loss.
"Yeah," Charles mumbles after a beat. "It was a bloody shock alright."
Edwin bites on his bottom lip, resisting the urge to push his fists together.
"Would you like to talk about it?" He asks, hoping his voice conveys the appropriate mixture of care and caution.
Charles shrugs, sniffing and rubbing his face against one of his forearms. Edwin bites his lip a little harder, and cautiously raises his right hand to place it on Charles' back. He feels and sees the muscles tense, Charles arching his back like an angry cat for the half second it takes Edwin to take his hand back.
"I apologize," he says, hand hovering uselessly above Charles' shoulder blades, "I wanted—"
"Neck's fine," Charles mumbles, low enough that Edwin almost misses it.
He swallows thickly, pausing when the upstairs neighbors walk by with puzzled faces. Edwin doesn't quite glare at them but it's a near thing, and he turns back to Charles the second they're out of view.
"Alright," he says. "Neck, then."
He only touches two fingers to the nape of Charles' neck at first, trying to keep it light, but that makes Charles tense again so he changes to a more present grip, palm flat and only just brushing with the edge of Charles' hair. Charles doesn't move into it this time, but he doesn't flinch away either. Edwin feels Charles take a deep, soundless breath, like a swimmer before a dive, and braces.
"I. She asked how I was," he exhales at last, and the wind rushes out of Edwin's lungs with a punched out sound. "I haven't seen her in over seven years and she—"
Charles takes a shuddering breath, sharp and painful sounding, and his voice sounds utterly broken when he says:
"He used to beat me up, you know."
Edwin, who hadn't known but kept the possibility in his mind like a bad thorn, bites down on a sympathetic hiss and leans a little harder against Charles instead, stretching so he can lean his forehead against the back of Charles' skull.
"Charles, I'm so sorry," he murmurs, free hand grasping around until it can find the jut of Charles' left knee, and wrap his fingers around it, squeezing with as much reassurance as he can muster.
He wishes, abruptly, that he'd thought to take Charles inside before he started this talk. They both deserve better than the front step of Edwin's building, where another pair of neighbors gawks at them as they walk past. Yet, now that they're here, Edwin wouldn't cut Charles off for all the gold in the world. He fears with an intensity he didn't know he was capable of, that interrupting Charles now would send him back into his usual reserve, and Edwin knows with absolute certainty that he will go to great lengths to prevent that from happening.
"She never—every time he did it," Charles says, almost choking on the words, "she'd just stand—she didn't do anything! And now—now she—"
A long fit of coughing cuts Charles off, wracking his body and shaking Edwin's head even as he tightens his hold on Charles, as if he could make up for his childhood with how much he loves him.
"I'm so sorry," he tells Charles. "You deserved so much better."
Charles' cough subsides, melting into shuddering, soundless sobs that Edwin wants to take into his ribs and hide from the rest of the world. He straightens up and, as gently as he can, guides Charles to lean against him harder until his frame his half cradled in Edwin's arms.
"It's not bloody fair," Charles manages between sobs, gulping air like he's drowning, shaking against Edwin.
Edwin breathes in, tears crowding at the corner of his eyes, and holds Charles closer. He wishes, so desperately, that he could love him enough to erase the past and make all the pain go away.
"I love you," he says instead, recklessly, pressing a kiss into the side of Charles' hair. "I know it doesn't make anything better, but I love you."
They sit like this for a long time, Charles crying and Edwin rocking him lightly like a child, until things finally calm down enough that Charles is ready to go upstairs for tea. They drink it out of the blue mugs Monty bought when he and Edwin moved in, quietly sitting on the couch in one of those strange bubbles of relieved fragility that comes after a crisis. For a long while, they sit in silence on Edwin's couch.
Then Charles sighs, long and tired, and leans sideways until he can rest his head on Edwin's shoulder, one arm looping around his waist.
"I love you too, mate," he sighs, making Edwin freeze. "And it does make things better that you love me."
Edwin, his heart singing from Charles' declaration and bleeding from the way he meant it, nods, and drinks his tea.

It has been an illegal amount of time since I've been on tumblr (like a week and a half), but I'm back.
Hope you're doing well!
Anyways! Provided you're not busy (take however much time you need, whether that be a week or whatever), I have thought of another Tokyorev request since I've been rewatching the anime. There is a staggering lack of m!reader x Rindou on this platform, so therefore, here is my request.
How about m!reader x Rindou (romantic/fluff, whatever) where reader is a lesser known delinquent in Roppongi (2005 for reference) who constantly gets into fights, and winds up fighting Rindou and Ran. I'll leave it up to you if he wins or loses, but basically he catches Rindou's eye. I'm trying not to make my requests super detailed so I can leave space for creative liberties.
Well, there's the request, do with that what you will. Also I will probably be dropping a BSD request on you soon, so fair warning.

𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 ( 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐝 ) 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭
🎐rindou haitani x m!reader ༄
🎐fluff, headcanon format bc i’m struggling, lowercase intended, possibly ooc bc i haven’t touched any tokyo rev content in months but ill do my best. the fight scene is WHACK bc i suck at writing it so im begging yall to ignore ༄
🎐 you were a rambunctious little shit growing up, and it was to nobody’s surprise you ended up roaming the streets of roppingi, picking fights with anyone you could see
🎐 you were smart though, choosing to grief on people you knew you could take on and people who were interested in fighting. you had no interest in bashing innocent passerby’s and people who could clearly stomp you into the concrete.
🎐 boxing and martial arts was something your parents had put you into as a way to vent out all that energy (it didn’t work, you still beat the shit outta the kids in your school), so you had both a good technique and a strong fist whenever you threw yourself into battle a fight.
🎐 this all changed the day you encountered the haitani brothers, rindou and ran.
🎐 their reputation was nothing exaggerated, and their eye for fashion was also nothing short of perfection. they were flashy and had total control over roppongi before they were even adults.
🎐 you never thought you’d have to end up laying hands on either of them, let alone both at the same time, until last week.
🎐 you were much less known then the brothers, however that doesn’t mean you didn’t have friends and alliances on the streets. you were a fun and energetic character, who had no problem stepping up if someone worth saving needed help. and that gave you a good reputation between the other lower gangs in the area.
🎐 so, when you saw the haitani brothers beating the shit out of your friends forehead, you wasted no time jumping in.
🎐 it was a shitty battle, with a 2v1 (your friend was fucked UP, bro was no help) , however your martial arts techniques prepared you for rindou’s quick movements, and your boxing provided a good punch to his pretty face.
🎐 in the end, it was clear you were going to lose. you bet if only one were there you might’ve stood a chance, however on the verge of passing out, decided to accept your fate and hope you don’t end up dead.
🎐 however you find that as you collapse, you watch them both walk off into the distance.
🎐 wait wtf.
🎐 they weren’t gonna torture you ? or break your bones ?
🎐 if you were a little more conscious, you might’ve been able to hear the conversation between the two brothers, however you knocked tf out not a minute after.
“so why are we letting that boy off the hook? he jumped into a fight that wasn’t his” ran curiously asked his little brother.
“to jump into a fight you know your gonna lose is honorable, however if he does it again then we can shatter his arms!” rindou perclaims, a flushed face that clearly wasn’t coming from the fight he just fought.
as ran looks back at the two bodies behind him, he thinks to himself…
nah i’m kidding ofc bro speaks his mind.
“nah, we’ve beaten up plenty of dudes doing the same thing. you just think that kid back there is hot huh.”
“ran what the FUCK-”

Hi, Blusy! I hope you're well!
I have a request about reader who works for Donna whether a maid or gardener (maybe both! Why not? Capable indeed *nods*). Reader is very loyal to Donna because ofc Donna treats her well as her employer (or maybe also bc reader secretly has a crush on Donna :]c)
And this reader is also a fierce one >:] Well, the villagers always speak ill of the Lords but especially Donna. So whenever reader is in the village to do some chores, she will defend Donna verbally when someone said bad things about her. Donna knew this and fell in love secretly with reader because hey! Someone's caring for her:(
One day, someone said really really bad thing about Donna and reader got so angry she jumped and got into fist fight with that person. She got injured a little but yeah! Victory! (Maybe Heisenberg passed and stopped the fight so reader wont offed the person and he drag reader back to the manor)
Donna got so worried seeing reader injured and took care of reader injury. She asked reader not to defend her anymore bc she doesnt want reader got hurt anymore. Since then, most villagers are wary to reader even some tried to bully/hurt her now. But now it's Donna's turn to save her girl! Donna apparently followed reader bc she is worried, then when reader got abused she appeared and scares/threatened the awful villagers to protect reader!
When they get home, reader confessed her feelings to Donna because she can't hold back her feelings anymore (Donna got so happy and reciprocated ofc :3) fluff please!
Anyway, thank you for always feeding us with your writings!
Yesss!!!! Thank you for your request!!! I hope you like it and sorry about the language mistakes!!!! :))))))
Loyalty
Pairing: Donna Beneviento x Fem, Maid! Reader
Warnings: Fluff, maybe mentions of violence...
Word count: 7,711
Summary: Maybe your loyalty is not just that...
N/A: Sorry about the language mistakes!!! Requests are open!!! I'm waiting yours!!! I love you all!!! :))
It had been a while since going down to the basement stopped giving you the shivers.
The first few times you did it, you felt the stares of the paintings following you, a feeling of heaviness in your chest. Not even a girl like you could ignore the danger that was breathed among those old and cracked walls.
But that was only at the beginning.
Little by little you began to stop shrinking to walk faster as you headed towards your destination, to stop fearing the paintings, the shadows of that place. Maybe it was the habit, the daily routine of walking through that dark place and always surviving it. You would only fool yourself by thinking that way.
A recurring habit was not powerful enough to face the darkness of that mansion, not even if it was an act repeated several times throughout the day.
No, your face wore a smile as you walked with a tray in your hand, maybe not because of the path, but because of the destination.
Luck or misfortune: you could have thought of either the day you decided to start being independent, something really complicated in that place. A girl like you, skilled, yes, but with few options, had no choice but to bow to the power of the village, to the pressure that forced you to bow your head and serve.
Castle maid, farmer, gardener… The options that age began to mark for you were all equally tedious, equally bitter. There was no future for anyone in that place, and you were no exception. The only difference between the other young women of your age and you was simple: you accepted your future.
There were people much more loyal than you to Mother Miranda and the Lords but… At least you didn’t see them as a danger or as the shadows that kept that small village in complete darkness.
Envoys of the Black Gods, nobles… No matter how you thought about them. Somehow, those speeches, Mother Miranda's words penetrated your mind to make you understand that this was your world, and that it would never change.
With that in mind, you decided to try your luck and demonstrate your skills by doing something that few dared to do voluntarily: serve the Lords.
In the absence of another option, you went to the castle to find a place among so many maids. Everything went well. Lady Dimitrescu seemed satisfied with your skills, and, above all, with your helpful attitude.
Just when you thought that you had somehow achieved what you wanted, life surprised you with an unexpected turn. Apparently, your skills as a gardener wouldn’t be very useful in the castle; an army of maids were already taking care of the vineyards. According to Alcina Dimitrescu herself, it was a talent that couldn’t be wasted.
After a phone call, the pages of your future began to be written in a different book, in a book elegantly decorated with a sun and a moon.
Nobody knew much about the youngest of the Lords, that mysterious woman covered with a black veil, Donna Beneviento.
You knew she was dangerous, that she wasn’t right in the head, that she always carried a talking doll with her… Few information, and, in a place like that, having few information was synonymous with fear.
The lady in black needed someone to take care of the garden, and a maid wouldn’t hurt either. According to the lady of the castle, Donna needed some company. You were reluctant at first. The rumor mill of the village was a dangerous weapon that attacked whenever there was no information, and without remedy, your legs began to tremble as you walked through those grounds from which “no one had ever returned.”
You weren’t the only one who showed distrust. As you got to know the lady in black closely, you realized that you weren’t welcome, that your presence was nothing but a nuisance.
You wondered how many maids were sent to serve that woman, how many returned, none of them, possibly.
Determined to show that you were capable of serving Lady Beneviento as well as her sister, you took that first rejection as a personal challenge, showing your abilities and skills to get a chance, at least the chance to get out of that place alive.
You didn't need to insist much, since that woman didn't seem fond of conversations. Her desire for silence, or perhaps the fact that she saw in you a possibility of meeting her needs, was what finally made her hire you as her maid.
Leaving the village wasn't difficult, adapting to your new life was.
Donna was a strange, disturbed and sick woman, just as the rumors said. But there was always another dark side to every person, or, in this case, a bright side.
As time went by, you began to settle into a comfortable routine, to see that old mansion as something resembling a home. Days gave way to night and vice versa, you always opened your eyes, always woke up. You weren’t going to die.
Gardener, maid… You did a bit of everything. Cooking, cleaning, tending to the flowers, serving your mistress… Yes, it may not have been exactly what you had planned, but you couldn’t say you weren’t satisfied.
Getting to know Donna better was the hardest task. She didn’t speak. She barely looked at you at first. That forced trust of living with her was releasing little whispers of gratitude, looks that were much more intense, even through that horrible black veil.
After a year of servitude, that cloth finally disappeared, along with the desire of the lady in black to remain silent. She was… Well, maybe you weren’t exaggerating if you said she was the most beautiful woman you had ever seen, even more so than that portrait on the stairs.
Her voice stopped avoiding you, her beauty began to be present in your life and finally “my lady” became a simple (she wanted it that way) “Donna.”
Was she a sick and disturbed woman? Yes, she was.
Was she dangerous? You weren’t able to see to what extent.
But… Was she kind? Yes, that too.
Little by little you discovered the side of the lady in black that was never talked about, a warm smile that always accompanied your presence. You felt good in that house, she treated you well, she thanked you for everything you did, even sometimes, just sometimes, you had something resembling a conversation.
The rumors were wrong. Donna was a wonderful woman trapped in a terrifying mask, in a facade that would hold firm with everyone.
The bright side that surrounded her dark figure began to become an addiction, a constant desire to know more, to talk more, to get closer. Loyalty was something that Lady Beneviento always had from you, but… She will never know that it was linked to something else.
It didn't matter how you looked at it, the multiple interpretations of your tremors when you approached her, the frantic beating of your heart when you saw her tender smile, you were lost; you had fallen completely in love with her.
“S-Sorry to bother you,” you said in a whisper as you slowly opened the doors of the workshop where Donna worked almost tirelessly. “I brought your tea.”
“Leave it there.” Her hoarse voice reached your ears and your legs moved on their own, walking slowly to the indicated place. “Thank you.”
“Mm,” you said, nodding elegantly, unable to suppress a small bow. “I-I hope it's to your liking.”
“I'm sure it is,” the lady murmured without looking at you, focused on painting a porcelain head. “It always is, (Y/N)”
“You're very kind,” you whispered, noticing the familiar warmth of the blush on your cheeks as it coincided with her bright eye and a gentle lift of her corners.
A brief smile crossed her face, a quick, fleeting one, as if something prevented her from staring at you for longer. That was fuel for your fantasies. You wondered what she was thinking, how she felt about you, if, if… If maybe she had feelings for…
Oh, no fantasies during work hours.
“Mm,” she murmured, focused again on her dolls, thus predicting another awkward moment in which you received no orders and your body forced you to stay there, next to her.
“Well, If you don't need anything else...” you whispered with a distressed voice, turning on your heels to return to boring tasks, away from her.
“Un attimo.” Her voice again interrupted and froze your steps. “Come.”
“Oh, of course,” you said walking back to the work table.
The lady sighed, tilting her head to look better at her newly created work and then at you, as if she herself was looking for an excuse for you to stay a little longer.
You should stop twisting the truth with your fantasies...
“I need to ask you a favor, (Y/N),” she said with a low voice, looking away again.
“S-sure, I'll do whatever you ask me to,” you answered kindly, placing yourself as close to her as possible.
“Mm, you always do what I ask you, huh?” she joked subtly, cleaning the imperfections of the porcelain with a discreet smile.
“Of course, Donna,” you said confidently. “I'm your maid.”
The lady smiled more intensely, shaking her head.
“So, if I asked you to jump off the cliff... Would you do it?” she asked in a darker tone, cooling her expression.
“Um, um, I...” you stammered surprised by that question that seemed totally out of context.
Donna laughed softly, looking at you out of the corner of her eye.
“It's a joke, (Y/N),” she said among shy laughs, surely seeing your disoriented expression. “Forgive me, I'm not very good at joking.”
“Wow, I was just going to tell you that maybe the water is too cold and I don't like heights very much but... Well, it's always too soon to lose my fear, right?” you said awkwardly, scratching the back of your neck.
“Mm?” the lady muttered confused, frowning.
“Um, it was a joke… I'm not very good at that either,” you said apologetically.
“I see,” she said softly, leaning back in her chair and sighing awkwardly. “Actually, what I'd like to ask you for is a bit of your time.”
“My time? Oh, sure, my time is yours,” you said with an excited smile at such an unusual request. “Do you want to talk about something?”
“Do you want to talk about something?” Donna asked back, leaving you completely confused again.
The lady in black was an expert in solitude and quite clumsy when it came to human relationships. Still, she always proved to be one step ahead of you, always showing that brilliant intelligence the rumors denied.
“No, well, yes, I don't know, it depends on what you want,” you whispered nervously.
“The Duke called this morning, he says he won't be able to come,” your lady explained, painting that porcelain face again, looking away in a disinterested manner. “What a surprise, isn't it?”
“Well, you already know him,” you commented amused. “Any excuse is good enough not to move his fat ass over here,” you joked, instantly regretting those disrespectfully informal expressions. “Oh, I mean that...”
The brunette's laughter interrupted, a soft but genuine laugh, surely encouraged by your face dead with shame and the increasingly visible trembling of your hands.
“Sei divertente…” Donna commented, shaking her head and finally leaving the head of that new doll on the table.
“I try,” you said with a voice covered with a certain pride for understanding her words in that melodic and fascinating language.
She looked at you with a frown for a moment before relaxing her expression.
“You take your work very seriously,” she murmured, looking away in a slow and slightly strange way. “I appreciate it.”
“It's the least I can do, Donna,” you said satisfied by the compliment. “Thank you for appreciating my effort.”
“Thank you for… Well, for being here with me and…” she stammered, blinking erratically and shaking her head. “I mean… I-I need you to go to the village and claim from our fat friend what he owes me.”
Your smile cooled after that order. It was always the same. When it seemed like a conversation was slowly deepening, Lady Beneviento's stoic and authoritative attitude prevented it from do it.
“Of course,” you said, bowing your head elegantly. “I'll go right now,” you said with a formal smile, turning around to end that strange encounter.
“W-Wait,” Donna interrupted, turning around abruptly to get your attention.
“Yes?” you asked as if you were waiting for something that really wasn't going to happen.
“Um... Wrap yourself up, it's a very cold day and my flowers can't live without your care,” the lady said, turning around again.
You smiled, nodding even though she couldn't see you.
“I will, Donna.”
Without wasting any more time, you set out to walk towards the village. The lady was right, that day the cold was terribly cutting.
You didn't usually leave the grounds. Nor did you have the need to remember your old life.
Although you were always reluctant to walk through the village again, especially because all your old neighbors looked at you strangely, the truth is that leaving that spiral of love and fantasy in which you lived was relaxing.
The villagers lived their lives quietly, they worked, walked, the children played... Sometimes that place seemed anything but sinister.
“Now it's my turn,” a little boy said, playing with his friends, a scene for which you slowed down your steps, looking curiously at those children. “One, two, three, four, four Lords...”
“Mm,” you murmured curiously when you heard him sing, crossing your arms and listening attentively.
“Four Lords, four fools…” he continued singing as he ran around his friends, making you frown. “One is fat, the other is ugly…”
“What?” you muttered.
Normally no one dared to insult the Lords like that, much less a child.
“The fish is disgusting and if the crazy monster catches you… Run away!” he finally shrieked, chasing his companions.
You, looking around in case someone else was listening, approached that rude child with your best intentions.
“Hey, you!” you shouted, getting his attention. “Hey!”
“Hello, miss,” the child said, standing up politely.
“Hey, what were you singing?” you asked with a slightly soft voice.
“I made that up,” he said, proudly, pointing at himself.
“Oh, really?” you asked ironically, crossing your arms. “You shouldn't say such things about the Lords, it's dangerous,” you warned in a calm voice.
“My sister says they're fools,” the boy said. “That we don't have to fear them.”
“Does your sister say that?” you asked curiously, shaking your head. “Well, I think she's wrong.”
“No, my sister is always right,” the boy said, with a childish protest, making you raise an eyebrow. “She says they're just four bad monsters, that they're not good.”
“Oh, of course…” you sighed, shaking your head.
“Are you afraid of them, miss?” he asked with the innocence of his age.
You couldn't get angry with such a young child. it wasn't fair, although it's true that you were upset by those comments. Your loyalty to… Well, to Donna, and therefore, to her siblings, was beyond any kind of doubt.
“No, and I'll tell you why,” you said, bending down a little. “Do you know that I work for one of them?”
“Really?” he asked, with his eyes wide open.
“Mm, I work for Lady Beneviento.”
“Oh, the crazy monster!” the boy shrieked, covering his mouth with his hands.
“Hey! Don't say that!” you said perhaps too abruptly, terribly offended by the way that child had of speaking of your Donna. “Don't talk about her like that, understand? Show some respect.”
“My sister says she's a monster and that she's as crazy as her family,” the boy protested just as you grabbed his arm.
“Shut up, brat, that's not true,” you growled. “I'm telling you that I work for her.”
“Is she a very ugly monster?” he asked.
“No, she's not. Lady Beneviento is a kind and beautiful woman, she's not a monster. Do you hear me? So tell your sister to shut that big mouth of hers and stop telling lies, understood?”
The boy, surely scared by your fierce attitude when defending Donna, nodded.
“Yes, miss,” he said abruptly, opening his eyes in surprise.
“Get out,” you said, letting his arm go and letting him run away in terror. “A monster… Damn it…”
You couldn't tolerate it, you just couldn't.
Your loyalty and love for Donna had long since crossed the limits of rationality. As long as you were around, no one would dare mess with her, not even a brat like that.
Thinking about the anger those comments caused you clouded your brief visit to the village. You couldn't stop thinking about what you were like before working at the mansion. You never dared to judge any of the Lords, but it's true that the only thing you knew about the lady in black were rumors very similar to the mocking chants of that child.
If only they knew her, if they knew what she was really like. Another absurd fantasy, no one in the village would ever have the privilege of knowing Donna, of knowing her intelligence, her elegance and kindness.
Sick, yes, but a wonderful woman, nothing else mattered but how she made you feel by her side. Maybe admiration and love were starting to take a toll on your judgment. Maybe you were so in love with her that you were unable to see the danger that was in front of you. No, you never felt in danger with her, even the day you arrived and she rejected you as a maid.
The rumors were just that, rumors, but ones that you couldn't change.
“You're back,” the lady said when you got home.
Your smile was always faithful to Donna, but your face emanated a certain annoyance that the woman in black noticed immediately. “Is anything wrong, (Y/N)?”
“Um, no, Donna. It's all there,” you said, downplaying your angry complaints and extending the bags to her so she could check inside.
“Mm, what about this?” she asked, taking a pot with a strange flower that you found curious out of a box.
“Oh, I bought that myself, I'd like to plant it in the garden,” you said, forgetting for a moment about the incident with the child.
“Did you ask my permission?” she asked, looking at you out of the corner of her eye as she examined the plant.
“Um, no, but...” you said, afraid of your boldness.
Her smile made your legs stop shaking.
“I’m joking, (Y/N), I see I’m unable to do it properly,” Donna murmured, setting the pot down on a table with an elegant step, turning briefly to look at you.
“Oh, yes, well…” you said nervously, setting the bags down on the floor. “I thought it was nice, that’s all.”
“Mm, you have good taste,” she commented, turning around with a smile. “Wait, let me help you.”
“No need,” you said, stopping the lady from taking the bags. “I wouldn’t let you do something like that.”
“Why not? Just because I have a maid doesn’t mean I can’t do anything, right?” she asked, roughly snatching the bags from you, a dangerous glint in her eye.
“Well, I think Alcina…” you commented briefly, remembering your friends’ experiences at the castle.
“I'm not Alcina,” Donna said, her voice close to a cry of protest, her face dark and dangerous.
If the crazy monster catches you, run away...
That child's stupid song was playing in your head irremediably.
“No, of course, that's... Obvious,” you murmured, trying to control the thoughts in your head.
“What do you mean? Speak clearly, (Y/N),” she said, walking next to you towards the living room with a suspicious look.
“Nothing, I... I'm sorry,” you said defeated, unable to think rationally.
The lady in black left the bags on a table and turned towards you, frowning and reaching out her hand until it rested on your chin, slowly raising it. The touch of her soft skin against yours was hot, but you couldn't enjoy it properly, because that closeness wasn't a good thing, normally.
“Mm, you're such a liar,” she commented, letting you go coldly, making you blink in confusion.
“What? Oh, Donna, no, I don't know why you say that,” you said, scared by that accusation.
“I asked you if something was wrong and you lied to me, it's obvious that something is bothering you,” Donna said in a somewhat smug tone, but she was completely right.
“It's nothing,” you said, smiling falsely.
“Are you going to keep lying?” she asked, arching her eyebrow and crossing her arms. “I thought you were a sincere girl.”
“Okay, okay, I…” you began. Your loyalty was much greater than your shame, or your fears. You couldn't hide anything from her. “There-There was a brat in the village, a little boy who was singing… A song…”
Donna nodded for you to continue.
“The song was about you, about the Lords and… They weren't exactly nice words,” you said, lowering your head. The doll maker's expression didn't change at all. “So I told him to stop disrespecting you and… He said… Horrible things about… About you…”
“Mm,” she murmured, tilting her head in curiosity.
“I just feel helpless seeing that some people think you're a… A…” you said, in a small voice.
“A monster,” she finished, with a cold but apparently calm tone.
“Yes…” you whispered embarrassed.
“Do you think I care what they say about me in the village?” she asked in a dark tone as if deep down her own words were a lie.
“No, but…”
“You do care, why?” she asked again, coming a little closer, with an expression that moved away from darkness to curiosity. “You don't need to defend me, it's not your job.”
“I know but... It's just that I...” you stammered, wanting to bury yourself underground and not come out for years. “I really care what they say about you.”
“Why?” she insisted mercilessly.
“Because I know they're wrong,” you whispered, briefly looking into her bright eye.
Silence was the lady's response. Donna moved away slowly from that intense gaze, as if she didn't want to do it.
“Um, I should, I should short this,” you said after a moment of silence, of furtive and strange glances, one in which the lady didn't move, as if she were a portrait, a statue, a ghost...
“Angie, help her,” the lady whispered, pointing to the doll, which was swinging its legs on a sofa.
“What!? Hey, silly Donna! She's the maid!” the puppet protested, approaching you and the bags.
The lady in black didn't answer. She simply walked towards the elevator hallway, stopping briefly before disappearing.
“(Y/N),” she said, distracting you from your attempt to keep the doll from messing everything up.
You looked up with pleading eyes, eager for some word, for something that seemed to want to come out of her lips.
“Donna?” you asked with a sigh, feeling a pang in your heart as you stared into her eye, knowing that she was looking at you.
“I…” she murmured distractedly, without looking away. “Be careful with Angie, she likes glass jars too much,” she said with a different tone, disappearing quickly through the door and leaving you sighing again, your shoulders slumping in disappointment.
“Y-Yeah, sure,” you muttered, looking away from the hallway. “Hey!” you shrieked, snatching a jar of tea leaves from the doll.
“You think I'm going to help you, you silly, silly? Let's see if you can catch me!” the doll shrieked, laughing sinisterly and running away with the jar.
At least you were able to distract yourself from that awkward encounter.
It might seem like something had changed in the mansion after that kind of veiled and indirect confession, but it wasn't. There was some tension between you, more than usual. Donna didn't usually talk, but when she did, her voice was stoic, regal and elegant.
Stuttering from the lady, and phrases and questions with less sense than usual served to make your loving heart believe that this act of loyalty had had some effect. Surely you were totally wrong.
The days passed without remedy, becoming more and more a torture, a feeling of helplessness in loving Donna, knowing that this feeling would never be reciprocated even though sometimes you liked to think the opposite.
You should start thinking about forgetting your fantasies, and focus on reality. Being with her was much better than confessing and being rejected, or something worse.
The desire to forget that impossible love accompanied you during another of your trips to the village. It was something horrible to feel, but seeing her smile, hearing her melodic voice, became your joy for living.
“Well…” you sighed as you walked through the quiet streets, seeing that, just like yours, the village's routine was still a tedious succession of days and nights of work.
“Hey, you!” An unpleasant shout interrupted your thoughts.
A young girl, more or less your age, approached you quickly, with an annoyed expression.
“My name is not you,” you said mockingly, crossing your arms.
“I don't care about your name, stupid,” the girl growled, with her hands on her hips.
You were never good at putting up with rudeness or discourtesy, and besides, you weren't in the mood to do so, not that day.
“Leave me alone, will you?” you said, pushing that unpleasant girl away. “Unlike you, apparently, I have things to do.”
“Don't you know who I am?” the young lady asked, grabbing your arm to stop you from continuing.
“Mm, no, I don't have the pleasure,” you said ironically, starting to lose patience.
You had too many things on your mind to put up with the stupid insults of a random villager.
“I’m Marcus's sister, the boy you yelled at the other day,” she explained, catching your attention. “How dare you yell at my little brother?”
“Your little brother was insulting the Lords, I did him a favor,” you said arrogantly, looking at your nails with contempt. “You should know that it is dangerous to put those ideas in the head of such a young child.”
“Are you going to tell me how I have to act with my brother?” the girl growled, clenching her fists. “Of course, how could I not expect that from a servant of those monsters...”
You rolled your eyes, trying to make a graceful escape again, something you failed to do.
“Are you jealous?” you challenged with a sly smile.
“Jealous? Please, if I had to work for any of them I would probably rather die,” she played along.
“Very well,” you said, nodding passively and pushing her away with your shoulder.
Her grip returned to your wrist, further exhausting your patience.
“You are Beneviento's little whore, aren't you?” she asked, making you turn around sharply. “Now I understand those stupid ideas you put in my brother's head.”
“Mm, maid sounds much better, don't you think?” you said, crossing your arms.
Talking about Donna was the worst thing that stupid girl could do… The bad thing for her is that she didn't know.
“Maid, whore, it's the same,” she said, with a mocking smile, coming a little closer. “Don't your knees hurt?”
“Doesn't your brain hurt from not using it?” you asked back, blinking cockily. “Leave me alone.”
“Not so fast…” she hissed again, standing in front of you to stop you from walking. “I think you owe me an apology. My brother came home saying that crazy Beneviento woman was a good person.”
“Yes, that's right,” you said, clenching one of your fists when you heard the word crazy next to her last name. “I didn't tell him any lies.”
“You know it well, huh?” the girl mocked, walking around you like a vulture. “Doesn't it disgust you to serve someone like her?”
“Doesn't it disgust you to look at yourself in the mirror?” you answered, your breathing becoming more agitated.
Anyone could mess with you all they wanted, but with Donna… Not with her, ever.
“You should ask your crazy darling that…” she hissed, laughing sinisterly. “Oh, yes, I’m sure she’s even uglier than the rumors say… Surely that’s why she wants you, isn’t it? Oh, maid, tell me how beautiful I am, tell me, tell me.”
“Shut up,” you hissed, gritting your teeth.
“Are you threatening me? How bold…” the young lady mocked, with a nasty expression. “You’re nothing but a monster’s whore…”
“I said…” you whispered, taking a breath. “Shut the fuck up!” you shrieked, grabbing the collar of her dress. “Apologize!”
“Hey, let me go, you fucking moron! You're just like her!” the girl protested as your grip tightened, catching the attention of several villagers, who were murmuring around you.
“Apologize!” you repeated furiously. “Donna is not a monster!”
“Oh, you defend her…. Of course, now I understand,” she said laughing amused, without making any effort to get away from your grip. “I'm not going to apologize, she's a monster! An ugly and crazy monster!”
“Arrgh!” you growled angrily, headbutting the girl hard, making her fall to the ground with a cry of pain.
“Damn it…” she protested, holding her battered nose. “You'll pay for this!”
The young woman lunged at you, knocking you down with a strong punch to the eye that you weren't expecting, unleashing a furious fight in the snow that the villagers watched in astonishment.
“She's not a monster!” you screamed, struggling with the girl, hissing in pain from that unexpected blow, pulling her hair while she kicked you with her knee. “Shit!”
The girl knocked you down again, bringing her hands to your neck, but you managed to turn the tables with another painful headbutt, climbing on top of her body and hitting her furiously.
“Apologize! Come on! Apologize!” you screamed, noticing how your opponent's strength diminished with each blow. “APOLOGIZE!”
“Shhh, hey, hey, hey...” A soft voice followed by a tug on your dress pulled you away from the almost unconscious girl. “Enough, you little brawler…”
Behind you, holding you tightly, was one of Donna's brothers, Karl Heisenberg, who prevented you from crawling back towards the girl.
“You bitch!” you shrieked, resisting against the Lord’s grip.
“Hey, hey, come on, sweetheart… You've already won,” the metal man said, squeezing you tighter. “Wait a minute, oh, oh, oh, wait… You're Donna's doll, aren't you?”
“Maid!” you shrieked still furious but giving up on your attempts to return to finish what you started. “Let me go!”
“Yes, yes… That's it,” Heisenberg mocked, comically picking you up in his arms and leaning you on his shoulder, holding your legs while you hit his back.
“What are you doing? Put me down!” you protested as he walked holding you. The pain from the blow reached your head, making you dizzy, causing a few red drops to fall into the snow as the man carried you back to the mansion.
“What a mood, now I understand why Donna doesn't stop talking about you,” he murmured as you entered the forest. “You like getting into trouble, huh?”
“That bitch asked for it,” you hissed, giving up and grabbing your nose while rubbing your injured eye. “She hates you all.”
“Well, well… We can't please everyone, right?” he commented, laughing amused.
“She messed with Donna,” you said in a low voice, unleashing a sinister laugh from the Lord as you went up the elevator.
“You’re not just pretty, you're loyal… I like you,” he joked, with the waterfall already in front of you. “But I think poor Donna would be upset if her doll… broke, don't you think?”
“She doesn't care about me as much as I do about her,” you said with an involuntary sob, making the man stop, lowering you to the ground in front of the mansion.
“You think so? Let's check it out,” he said amused, looking at you over his glasses as he climbed the stairs of the mansion with you. “Hi! Donna!”
After a few moments, the lady opened the door, covered in her black veil, with her Angie doll in her arms, a sight you hadn't seen for a while.
“Ciao, bella, I think this is yours,” he said, playfully pushing you towards the mansion.
“Gods, (Y/N)…” the lady gasped, surely seeing your wounds. “(Y/N)… What happened?”
“Your little doll had gotten into a fight, or so it seems,” Karl commented, looking suspiciously at the doll, who was silently mocking him. “Fortunately, I arrived in time.”
“(Y/N), who did this to you? Speak!” the woman in black demanded, forgetting her reluctance to speak with her own voice in front of others.
You, embarrassed and hurt, didn't answer. You simply shook your head.
“Oh, no, no, no,” Karl interrupted, while the brunette's hand gently passed over your wounded face, a sensation that unfortunately, you couldn’t enjoy. “I mean that I arrived in time to prevent (Y/N) from leaving us with one less villager…”
“What?” the lady asked. “(Y/N)?”
“Take good care of her, Donna… You don't see maids as faithful as her nowadays,” Karl said, gesturing with his hand and walking away from the mansion.
“Gods, your face… C-come, let's heal you,” the lady said, taking off her veil and dragging you to the basement.
Silence became your only companion. Donna healed you thoroughly and painfully while you were unable to keep her gaze. It was a heavy, uncomfortable and tense silence, much more than usual.
“Are you going to tell me what happened?” the lady asked softly, as she passed a cotton ball over one of your wounds, making you hiss in pain.
“It's not important,” you murmured, holding back a tear.
The lady lowered her hand, staring at you, lifting your chin, something that slowly became a habit.
“You know I hate when you lie to me,” she whispered, squeezing your chin but letting it go instantly. “Oh, Gods... Your eye...”
“Ah,” you protested when a cream made contact with the bruise that had already sprouted. “I, just... I wanted... I wanted...”
“Mm?”
“That stupid girl said... She said horrible things and... I wanted her to shut up, I just wanted her to stop talking and...” you stammered, with your voice broken by sobs.
“Horrible things about what, (Y/N)?” Donna asked, with a soft voice, much sweeter than usual.
“About you,” you said looking away, preventing her from continuing to heal you.
“About me… So Karl wasn't lying, you're loyal, aren't you?” Donna said with a smile, guiding your head to look at her again. “(Y/N), I told you that no matter what they say about me, it's not your duty to defend me.”
“Yes, it is,” you protested, clenching your sore fist. “Those stupid people don't know you.”
“I don't want them to,” she commented, with a serious expression, cleaning another of your wounds. “I don't want you to keep doing stupid things like this, is that clear? It's not your duty as a maid.”
“It's my duty as a person,” you corrected with a brusque tone. “I… I can't stand people seeing you as a monster… You're not a monster…”
“So, what am I?” she said, blinking in confusion.
“You're… You're…” you whispered, swallowing the correct continuation of that sentence: you're the love of my life. “You're important to me.”
“Mm,” she murmured, with apparent disinterest. “You are important to me too.”
At those words, you looked up and opened your eyes when you felt a soft caress on your cheek, an erratic caress of her hand on your skin, aimless, meaningless, but comforting. Automatically your bodies approached each other slowly, guided by an invisible force that disappeared when the lady shook her head and cleared her throat.
“T-That's precisely why I want you to forget about this matter and not to do something stupid like that again…” she murmured, putting away the first aid kit and quickly moving her hand away, cooling your skin.
“I…”
“Promise me,” the doll maker said abruptly, getting up from the chair without looking at you.
“I… Okay, okay… I promise,” you finally said, playing with your hands, running your fingers over your injured knuckles.
That, that would be the only thing you couldn't promise her, that you would stop being faithful to her, whatever the consequences.
Donna sighed, running a hand through her hair and closing the medicine cabinet, looking at you over her shoulder.
“(Y/N), I don't want to lose you…”
Closer and closer, and further and further away… The time that passed after that fight could be summed up like this. Donna's trust in you didn't diminish, the smiles increased, subtle caresses appeared in your life to confuse you, but it never went any further.
Your brave but cowardly nature didn't allow you to tell the truth, for her to understand the reason for the irrationality of your actions. Maybe she would never do it, maybe you were doomed to live that love in dreams, in fantasies... You should get used to the idea.
“(Y/N),” Donna interrupted you when you were going out the door to go to the village.
“Tell me,” you said with a kind smile, with the trace of that fight almost invisible on your face.
“Remember your promise,” the lady whispered, putting a hand on your shoulder and giving you a smile.
“Of course,” you said nodding, slowly separating yourself from her. “Relax, I won't get into trouble.”
“Fine, ciao, (Y/N),” she said, with a distrustful expression, accompanying you out of the gate of the mansion, not losing sight of you.
Something had changed in the tedious routine of the villagers. Her eyes deviated from their tasks to discreetly rest on yours. The murmurs had eclipsed the usual bustle, mysteriously coinciding with your slow and calm step.
“It's her... The crazy woman who serves Beneviento...”
“She must be worse than her. She almost killed that girl just because she insulted her...”
You heard loose phrases without importance, and the promise you made to Donna was fixed in your mind. You tried to distract yourself from those unpleasant rumors, but it was impossible, especially when you were already returning to the mansion and heard footsteps behind you.
“Well, well, well...” a mocking voice reached your ears, forcing you to stop.
That stupid girl was there, with a sinister smile, her face still marked by your blows. But she wasn’t alone. She was surrounded by a couple of boys visibly stronger than her.
Showing off your anger control, you ignored them, continuing on your way.
“Hey, hey, hey… Where are you going?” one of the boys said, walking in front of you. “Are you going back to your crazy darling?”
“Leave me alone,” you said unpleasantly, walking away from them again.
“Not so fast, stupid,” the girl muttered, gesturing to the boy in front of you to grab you tightly by the arms.
“Hey, let me go!” you shrieked, struggling against him and dropping the basket where you were carrying your purchases. “Hey!”
“You're not so brave now, are you?” the girl muttered, slowly approaching you. “I'm afraid there won't be anyone to protect you today, stupid…”
“Mmm,” you growled, trying unsuccessfully to release yourself from the grip.
“I think I owe you one…” the girl continued, brandishing her fist and throwing it against your stomach, making you writhe in pain. “That's for the humiliation… And this…” she commented while you hissed. “This is for me!”
The second punch was going straight to your face, but in a reflex action, you managed to duck, causing the girl's fist to hit her friend comically, giving you a few moments to escape.
You ran, with those three people chasing you among laughs. The blow to your stomach affected your resistance and your vision of the road, making you corner yourself against a dead end.
“Come, you filthy rat… We have something to tell you…” the girl mocked, guarded by her two friends, who rubbed their fists. “You're nothing but the whore of a… Of a…” she said, inches away from your body, which was held again by one of the boys.
The girl stammered, unable to say a word.
“Hey, Olga, are you okay?” one of the boys asked, putting a hand on the girl’s shoulder. She shook her head.
“Yeah, yeah,” she said, pushing him away and coming closer again. “What was I saying? Ah, yeah… A mons… Ah!” she suddenly shrieked, falling to the ground and curling up on herself. “Help!”
“What’s going on?” the boy holding you asked.
“Can’t you see it, you idiot? Spiders, there are spiders everywhere!” the girl shrieked, making you blink in astonishment.
“I don’t see anything,” the other boy said, scratching his head in confusion. “Oh, shit, Uncle Fred!” he shrieked, pointing at an ordinary tree. “Don’t kill me!”
“Oh, no… I hate snakes…” the boy holding you said, letting you go of and hitting himself to get rid of an invisible enemy.
You watched the scene stunned, confused until you saw a black shadow approaching slowly: Donna.
“Donna…” you sighed as you saw the veiled figure getting closer and closer, with an elegant walk, holding Angie in her arms.
“Shit…” the girl protested, also looking at the lady. “Lady Be-Beneviento…”
“Oh, you are respectful now, aren't you?” Angie mocked while the lady bent down towards the frightened girl, roughly grabbing her by the collar of her clothes.
“Oh, shit, shit, I'm sorry… Don’t, don't kill me,” she sobbed desperately while enduring the cold gaze of the lady. “Please, don't…”
“Touch her again and you'll wish I did,” Donna hissed, in her own voice, with a darkness that even gave you chills.
“Of course my lady, yes, my lady,” the unpleasant girl said desperate and terrified.
You were really enjoying that.
“Vai… Get lost!” the lady in black shrieked, releasing the girl, who, along with her friends, ran away in terror.
When their screams of terror were silenced, the lady approached you, offering you her hand to help you up.
“Tutto bene?” she asked, helping you shake the snow off your clothes.
“Yes, I think so…” you sighed in relief, with a grateful smile. “But, but, what are you doing here?”
“I followed you,” she said, turning and indicating for you to walk with her back to the mansion.
“Oh, um…” you murmured.
“Don't be mistaken. It's not that I distrusted you but… I thought you might be in danger,” Donna explained, walking slowly beside you.
“You're welcome, huh?” the doll protested, moving mockingly in her owner's arms.
“Thank you,” you whispered with a strange blush on your cheeks. “Thank you very much, Donna.”
“Mm,” she murmured, nodding coldly.
The walk was silent, but not at all ordinary.
The two of you walked together, too close, making your hands brush with each of your steps until, in an unpredictable way, they came together, intertwining, playing with your fingers until they were joined. Neither of you said a word, you simply let yourselves be carried away by that involuntary act that perhaps wasn't so involuntary.
Enjoying the touch of her hand in yours was finally a pleasure that wasn’t repressed. A smile adorned your face, but you didn't know if hers too. You had been imagining a walk hand in hand with her for so long, imagining how it would end the smile in her face when she felt your hand in yours.
You couldn't stand it anymore.
“Donna, I...” you said, stopping your walk, with the waterfall already sounding in the background. “I want, I want to tell you something.”
The lady also stopped, separating her hand from yours and facing you slowly, nodding in an elegant way.
“I’m listening,” she whispered through her veil.
“Um, could you, could you take it off?” you asked shyly, pointing to the black fabric that covered her beauty. “I wish I could look at you.”
“Va bene,” she whispered, obeying your request, revealing a seemingly indifferent face.
“I don't know how to tell you but... I, I didn't defend you just because I was your maid or because I was loyal... Well, I’m loyal, I will always be loyal to you, that's indisputable, but...”
“You're babbling again,” she said, with a tender smile, gently lifting your chin as she took a step towards you.
“Yes, I... What I mean is that... I go mad when people mess with you, when they say you're... Horrible things because... Because... I'm madly in love with you, Donna,” you confessed, closing your eyes to avoid her impatient gaze.
“What?” she asked, frowning, an unexpected reaction to your confession. “No, that's impossible.”
“Is it impossible for me to love you? Well, then... I must be able to do impossible things,” you said confused and nervous, looking everywhere and nowhere at the same time. “You can, you can do whatever you want with me but... I really love you, I love you and...”
You couldn't continue talking. The lady in black grabbed your neck, gently pulling you until her lips crashed against yours in a wet, slow, almost clumsy kiss. Maybe clumsy, but it said much more than any babbling.
The sound of Angie's giggle next to your lips’ as they parted caused a smile in both of you, caused your cowardly hands to dare to cup her face between them, her eye to stare at yours.
“Do you really love me?” Donna asked, with a soft whisper, caressing your face, lowering her hands to your waist to bring you closer to her body.
“I really do,” you said dryly, running your hands over her dress, over her shoulders, enjoying those caresses that you imagined so many times.
“Me too, and, and I thought that you would never... Oh, (Y/N)... Ti amo...” she said with another whisper, placing her lips on yours again. “Listen, I don't want you to be my maid anymore, (Y/N), I want you to be… My lady… Would you like that?”
“That's… That's the only thing I want, Donna…”

hii angel!! really loved writing this!! link - but will summarise to save the search. thanks for requesting, hope like it💌 not back yet, this was in my drafts
MISSED CALLS.
tangerine x fem!reader
summary. tangerine doesn’t answer your calls when he’s away on work. one night you think you hear a someone breaking in
word count. 968
warnings. angst!! little bit of hitting (reader hitting tan) hurt comfort bc it heals my heart and wound cleaning
The severity and extreme conditions of Tangerine's job often left you feeling vulnerable - alone hundreds of miles away as you wallow in worry. Castaway with no way of keeping tabs on him, no way of confirming whether he was dead or alive.
This particular mission had you in all sorts of perpetual grief - in an everlasting spiral of dread as you await his calls. For the last week, you eagerly lingered by the phone, waiting for him to give you updates - anything to let you know he was okay. But you never once received a call - not even a quick, measly text.
It was late, the evening dark and quiet as you set up in the kitchen, wanting to distract yourself from the fear of him being gone by making a hearty dish - cooking your favourite meal to ease the ache in your heart.
Pulling out the ingredients from the fridge, you place them on the counter beside the board and knife, setting everything down on the surface. You pause, stopping still as you hear the sound of faint scuffling from behind the front door - the noise of heavy footsteps.
You grab the large knife from the chopping block, clutching it tightly in your fist as you back away from the window, shrinking in on yourself to minimise being seen. Without a second to think otherwise, you find yourself following the sound, territorial footsteps leading the way.
Standing beside the grand wood door, clasping the chef's knife with the blade pointing down - holding it in the angle Tangerine taught you. Stilling your erratic breath, you pause, hearing a familiar groan from behind the oak.
The jingling of keys confirms your theory, and you yank the door open, the immediate feeling of relief easing your shoulders when you see him on the other side.
"Oh my god," you gasp, dropping the knife to the floor - pulling him in for a hug. "Oh my god," you repeat, shock evident in your breathy tone.
Tangerine drops his duffle bag, gripping you tighter, hands clasping around your mid back - holding you like he didn't want to let go. "I'm so sorry," he mutters, his words full of sorrow. He buries his face into the crook of your neck, clutching you in a tight embrace.
"Why didn't you call? I was so worried," you whisper, squeezing him, relishing the feeling of his upper body. "You didn't even text... nothing," your tone subtly changes, the juxtaposing emotion of anger slowly creeping in. "You didn't text."
You back your head away from its spot in his neck, pulling away. "A whole week— nothing. How could you do that?" you remark, tone growing pointed.
"I know, love. I know—" he starts, his words soft and heartfelt though you were in no mood to hear it this second.
"That's so fucked up," you retort, trying to pull away from his tight hold. "So selfish," pushing and hitting at his chest, attempting to free yourself. "Let go— you're so selfish. You— how could you do—" you continue, words breaking when he doesn't release you - his hold still firm around you even with your hitting. "A whole week."
"Darlin'," he coos, pulling you back in. "I know," he adds, words faint as he mutters them into your forehead - clear regret in his voice.
He slips his hands from their hold on your back, moving to the sides of your face, cupping your cheeks as if to calm you - ground you. Making you look him in the eye, and only then do you really see his face, finally taking note of the cuts and scrapes and bruises marking his skin.
"You're hurt," you mumble, teary eyes darting over his face.
He hums, pressing a kiss into your forehead. "Bit of'a bosh," he weakly smiles, trying to lighten the mood.
You give him that all-too-knowing look, a faint grin lining your lips as you slip from his hold, weaving your hand into his. Leading him into the kitchen, you guide Tangerine to the table, making him sit.
You rummage the cupboard under the sink, collecting the medical kit and a glass of water - setting it all down on the table before washing your hands. You pull out a chair beside him, dragging it closer to take a seat.
You tear open an antiseptic wipe and carefully dap it around the gash above his eyebrow, cleaning the bloody skin. "Lucky it doesn't need stitches," you murmur, eyes focused on the wound.
Tangerine doesn't respond, not even a hum - appearing as though he was preoccupied, just intently gazing at you as you mend him.
You part focus from his eyebrow and sift through the first-aid box. "I'm sorry for hitting you," you whisper, keeping your gaze down. "That was..." you raggedly exhale as you squeeze antibacterial cream onto your index, reaching to smear it on his skin. "That was stupid of me— shouldn't have done it," you shake your head, brushing off the thought.
His head cocks to the side in disapproval. "Don't say that," he softly scolds, his tone still warm and loving. "You don't need to be sorry... for anything."
You slump back into your seat, finally looking Tangerine in the eyes - finally meeting his gaze. "I thought you were dead," you admit, fidgeting with your fingers.
He notices your uneasy hands and places his over yours - large palms engulfing yours, the sentiment immediately comforting you. "I'm okay, darlin', I promise," he says softly, squeezing your hands. "I ain't ever gonna let that happen, okay? Ya'hear me? I will never let that happen."
"But what if when—"
"No," he cuts you off, his single word firm and gentle. "I will never put you through that."
