Last weekend my friend and i decided to watch the fast and the furious (2001) and fast x (2023) back to back. The differences in what reality the world is functioning in are so wild. Like movie one wasnt "realistic" but it still felt grounded vs fast x basically being a superhero movie.

#fast x #the fast and the furious #ngl the entire sequence of the bomb in rome in fast x was so ridiculous but i was rooting for rome to be wiped off the map #nothing against rome i just think it would have been incredibly funny for the movie to do #loved john cenas spy kids mini plane #the signifier that the new agency guy is totally evil is that he hates family #very much giving cruella hates dalmatians bc they killed her mother level of ridiculous #im not an action movie person so on a pure enjoyment level i prefer fast x bc it was so over the top it veered into comedy #but visually the fast and the furious was better #bc it looks like they actually put effort into colour grading and costuming
