blog canon / divergence . s3 forward . **
** a lot of my felicity has been developed outside of arrow canon alongside @oliverjonasâ so this blog canon will reflect that & specific oliver & felicity canon with kris can be found here ( x ). but there will be au verses available .
she is working at tech village after she loses her job at kord industries after they all get fired from qc. once queen consolidated is aquired by palmer tech ( whoâs work she has long admired for the strides heâs made not only in tech, but in building a company )she applies back to the i.t. department & begins to work her way up in the company, more aggressively than when she worked at queen consolidated. over the course of the year she earns her spot as vp as she & ray figure out that they work together really well & become good friends .Â
after everything that happens with raâs & the explosion at palmer tech, felicity is eager to get out of star city & travel the world with the man she loves . but she very soon starts to miss their live in star city, despite all of the bad memories that live there because their family lives there too. she misses digg & dinah & thea & starts helping them, not knowing that oliver is planning to propose.
when the ghosts attack the limo, after she and oliver get engaged, felicity is shot four times ( twice in the shoulder, once in the side piercing her kidney & once in the back near her spinal cord ) . it takes months of physical therapy & follow ups after her initial three month stay in the hospital with her doctors to get her body even close to being fully healed . despite that & her doctors warnings to take it easy ( not to mention the team ) she continued to work with the team from home & the hospital until she was strong enough to be back in the bunker for longer periods of time.Â
felicity breaks up with oliver not because he didnât tell her about william even though sheâs still pretty pissed ⊠but so that oliver can figure out how he wants to deal with being williamâs dad / being green arrow / being oliver / being with her. she feels bad that she made him come back because she didnât want to stop & now ? thereâs all of this to deal with & she is focused on getting better & work. neither choose to keep the loft & rent it out shortly after their break up.
oliver & felicity go through a two year separation while remaining team members / building new team arrow, they have hooked up intermittently on their break but that stopped as soon as she started dating billy ( probably ).
after getting help from helix to find prometheus & then realizing that cay.den ja.mes was a little more than cuckoo bananas felicity actively works to dismantle helix .Â
she feels beyond guilty when billy dies & throws herself even further into her work & steps away team for a while to focus on it & deal with billyâs death.Â
felicity starts working on starting smoak technologies in her apartment with curtis ( their first project is attempting to create the bio-stimulant implant in a way that is affordable & accessible for the general public )Â
once they get back from lian yu oliver & felicity start to really work on repairing their relationship & working to introduce william to the idea of them being together while honoring samanthaâs memory.
also no one gets married at barry & iris' wedding except barry & iris you absolute ******* ********
oliver & felicity are legally separated but still married when she finds out sheâs pregnant with mia & while they live apart they work really hard to give both of their kids the childhood they deserve & make sure they know that they are a family no matter what.Â
#* đđđđđđ đđđđ đ đđđđđĄđ . âșâș headcanon.#kris knows more about the rest of the show alexys did not watch the last few seasons#bc i know more about felicity than the writers do#so see that post and then come back to this one if you need to bc really i'm just here to party

The people feeling hurt or uncomfortable with Felice x Wille hypothetically being fwb, I'm going to hold your hands when I tell you this is what being in a fandom is. It has been discussed recently that the fandom doesn't leave space for other characters and or pairing to really exist in this space if it isn't Wilmon and this kind of reactions is a great example of that.
Lisa created a show that showed us that it was impossible to read the characters as simple as black and white and I think that can be applied to how you perceive the characters in fanon as well, which the fandom struggles to do a lot.
Frankly, regardless of whether you see it or not, or the reason you feel so strongly against the pairing is justified it all comes down to your own interpretation. If someone sees them together, just bc you don't it doesn't immediately put Wilhelm in a straight box, just like it means Simon and Wille are not a thing anymore. Fiction was created to give people the power to create their own stories, if this doesn't suit you go make up your own.
Plus, depending on the context some people don't even want to touch on Wilmon because that relationship is solid and it doesn't have to be touched either way that's why I find it unfair to come in here and complain about it. A fandom is for all, if you can and should look away. Nobody is taking Wilmon away from you, wilmon is a part of all of us just like all the characters are ours now you can do whatever you want with them, and the same goes for others.
There's this amazing thing called tagging that allows you to block things you don't want to see and trust me I use it myself, it's wonderful.
I'd like to add that people write stories with Simon in other pairing , original and or characters from the show ppl would not like to see together. It happens not as much but it does, I don't see anyone coming and complaining about it but somehow it is outrageous for Felice to find a bit of comfort with Wille and vice-versa. It seems to me like there's more of an issue with Felice more than anything đ€
I don't think the pairing is harmful at all and I don't even see Wille as attracted to women personally and see it doesn't hurt my ego.
But with all kindness, I know it's not easy to see a character you see yourself in and see how people perceive them and do with it but you have your version and other people have theirs.
It's already happening anyway and I hope all the writers out there know that they have the freedom to write about whatever they want. To me, the most important thing would be to make sure that people know how to write about a black woman without making about a White man which it was it felt like to read people complain about the pairing. She deserves care and love that seems more important since there's basically not one story written about her out there that doesn't involve being Wille's best friend who's always there for him but somehow that's all she's supposed to be.
I'll trust that whoever writes for her, understands that đ

Because Iâm bored and my mind refuses to go towards anything besides this pandemic (as proven by the ficlets I have written). I decided to just ramble about headcanons I have for our favorite arrowverse characters during this mess. (Obviously canon divergent bc writers suck)
Oliver reacts pretty quickly to the virus and is on top of his decision making to try and flatten the spread in Star City.
Star City is the first to call the stay at home order
Followed by Central and National and then finally GothamÂ
Courts get closed except for urgent cases so Laurelâs not spending that much time in courtÂ
Sheâs mostly working from home and thankful is quarantined with Nyssa because she would probably forget to eat without her girlfriendâs reminders.Â
Thea and Roy end up quarantined at the Queen Manor with Moira right when they were about to leave Star City and start anew
They end up deciding to stay after everything is over withÂ
Gotham ends up with the most cases pretty quickly cause we know those fucking citizens donât listen
And obviously, against Luke and Juliaâs and Maryâs insistence that she just stay home, Kate still goes out as Batwoman because crime in Gotham has risen because of everythingÂ
Though itâs mostly petty crimes like theft and B&Es at firstÂ
Mary mostly stays at home; but she does take the risk of going to her clinic a few times a weekÂ
CatCo has completely changed the way itâs run.Â
Thereâs no more than 10 employees allowed in the office at any given time and even then, they have to keep their distance
Though most just work from home and conduct any interviews they need to through Zoom or other virtual meansÂ
Production on physical magazines slow down immensely. They do most of their posting online onlyÂ
Iris keeps the citizens of Central city up to date and hopeful for the future through the CitizenÂ
Kara quarantines with Lena - a big part because she doesnât want to be alone but also because she wants to make sure her girlfriend actually eatsÂ
Supergirl still patrols the city even if crime has slowed down in National mostly because Kara hates being cooped up inside. So she flies around the city, keeping watch and to just give her something to do
Because Kara canât get infected, she becomes the mom friend who checked in on everyone. And I mean everyone. From Star to Central to Gotham.Â
She flies to Gotham on the weekly basis to check in with KateÂ
Weekly Zoom calls with everyone and they get loud
Cisco and Laurel do their own weekly zoom calls because Cisco has to keep up with his favorite CanaryÂ
Barry and Irisâ apartment has never looked cleaner. Mostly because Barry speed cleans the damn thing on the daily now since theyâre all quarantine and he canât seem to sit idle for too long
Though Iris and Barry do take the time to just enjoy married life since thereâs less crime and less meta reeking havocÂ
Joe and Quentin are the only ones still working on the regular basis since theyâre considered essential workersÂ
Kara will check in on Quentin from time to time as a favor to Laurel to make sure heâs doing okay and isnât going to fall off the wagonÂ
Laurel and Quentin both appreciate itÂ
Lena is definitely trying to work on a cure at LCorp
Star Labs is definitely also trying to work on a cureÂ
Friendly competition between Cisco and Lena? Because yesÂ
Felicity tries to figure out a way to make their fancy security system spray Lysol on anyone who walks in their apartment
One day she gets it to work and Oliver gets a surprise when he comes home from one of his daily briefingsÂ

1-20 lololol
thank u for your pity savannah jokeâs on all of my followers I am absolutely going to answer them all because Iâm bored
1. who is the hardest character for you to write?
At the moment itâs MJ--but Iâm slowly overcoming that writing block and getting to know her better as I write her. Otherwise...I donât know, I rarely write for characters if I donât feel I have a decent angle on them.
2. who is the easiest character for you to write?
Deadpan Snarkers, lol. Tony, Kanan, sometimes Jyn...though I used to like writing for Felicity a lot too because sheâs very cute-funny instead of snarky-funny and it was interesting to play with.
3. How do you know if your writing is âin characterâ?
This is tough, because I think a lot of the fun of fanfic is that we play with what âin characterâ means, but in my writing, I imagine it all very cinematically--could I imagine the character being played that way by their actor, could I make this scene happen in some alternate universe tv show and feel like it meshes with the real thing (or what I would prefer the canon character was like, in some cases)?
4. Where do your story ideas come from?
It depends. Sometimes itâs seeing something that already exists and taking inspiration (EX: an AU, a trope, an episode of TV, a movie) and other times itâs a very specific scene in my head. (EX: Tony finding Peter in the cabin in your energy has not died. I had to iron out the details of the story as a whole, but I saw Peterâs cabin and Tonyâs approach very clearly.)
5. Do you tell the people in your life that you write fics?
I used to, but now Iâm more careful about it. My parents have always supported it, but they didnât really get it. Friends Iâve had since high school are either fandom friends who read it or friends who I showed my writing to at the time. My roommate in college wrote some, so weâd talk about it sometimes. I donât talk about it at work because it doesnât really come up, but I donât think my boss or anyone would think itâs too weird bc weâre all creatives.
6. What has been the hardest fic for you to write?
Invulnerable is off and on hard, just because itâs a very âI HAVE AN IDEA...aaaand now I have to make it into a whole Thingâ process that I have with it. this was is the story of our lives was pretty tough just because itâs futurefic, and I was determined to get my ages and dates and things right, and with Star Wars that can be a whooooole monster.
7. What fic of yours makes you the most emotional?
Chapters 5 and 6 of Invulnerable made my eyes water for sure. I havenât been through anything like it, but the emotional, physical places that I put Tony and Peter in for those chapters were really raw. A Foreign Feeling is pretty high up there now, because it took MONTHS of work with Savannah, and it was fun and emotional and we both had writers block at times but WE DID THE DAMN THING and it feels really good and weird to have it done. Also, you got me hoping for a miracle, because itâs THE HUG WE DESERVED!!!
8. What is a scene you wrote that you are most proud of?
The Vanity Fair article in i fell for mantle photographs is a point of pride for me. I donât know why, I just always wanted to do something like it, and it feels sleek and modern and super in-universe.
9. Is there one character that you refuse to write? why?
I donât have any hard and fast rules or anything, but itâs unlikely Iâll ever write for villains. I know some people get a kick of exploring their POVs, but I rarely do.
10. When you write fics, how much of canon are you willing to ignore/skip over?
It seems like a cop-out to say it depends, but it does. In general Iâm pretty flexible (most commonly, in who lives and dies), but thereâs a point where it essentially becomes original fiction with character names slapped on it, you know? I like to be able to recognize the characters Iâm reading about, even if itâs in an AU.
11. Do you prefer to be cold or hot when you write?
Cold. I like to bundle up and sit in my little writing blanket cocoon.
12. What is your ideal writing area?
I do just about everything on my laptop, in my bed. Itâs made for staying comfy while writing for hours.
13. How do you come up with your titles?
Iâm a fan of using details and quotes from the stories themselves. I also like using songs/quotes as a title that have relation/meaning to the story. I just want things to connect and have meaning.
14. How do you come up with chapter titles?
Honestly, I usually donât use chapter titles much. When I do, itâs pretty basic.
15. At what point in writing a fic, do you decide to quit?
Well, passion is a big part of it. If I donât want to write the fic anymore...I wonât. There are also some points where I just...know itâs not going anywhere. If I canât come up with the next section, if Iâve been stuck on one place for months and purposefully am writing everything else BUT that fic...itâs time to let it go. If an impulse idea makes me want to pick it back up, itâs always there, but I have a lot of WIPs and I try to prioritize and keep it fun by doing whatever I feel like doing.
16. How much of your personal life do you put into fics?
Too much? Not enough?? Tbh Iâm inspired by events/people from my life more than I directly reference specific things. Like, 287 Miles, i like (the idea of) you, and the Twenty-Something series werenât my college experience, but there were a lot of things inspired by campus life, stressors I experienced, or ways I wish my college life had been.
17. What is the most supportive comment you have gotten?
Most recently, the user Laronia on AO3 literally commented on EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY MARVEL FICS. ALL OF THEM. AND THEN LEFT A GIANT, AMAZING COMMENT ON A Foreign Feeling. I am so incredibly touched about it. No one has ever done that before. I felt like a fucking superstar all day.
18. What is the most negative comment you have gotten?
Someone left comments on a couple of my Star Wars Rebels fics that were literally just. Fact correcting me. The most UM, ACTUALLY, bullshit. ON CANON DIVERGENT FICS. Like, no other commentary about the fic. They took the effort to sign in and comment as a guest--not a member, a guest with a username--just to âcorrect meâ. Why. Anyway, in retaliation, I then took the effort to put those comments in the IâVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS DUDE meme from Itâs Always Sunny and sent it to a friend to make myself feel better.
19. How do you handle negative comments?
I really donât get many, which has been a relief. I think a lot of us do extra research on things like canon timelines, medical jargon, etc. because weâve experienced gatekeepers like the above commenter and it sucks. Weâre terrified that with every fic we have to prove ourselves as âreal fansâ âworthyâ of writing fic. I still do it, even though a part of me wants to be the kind of person that doesnât spend an hour researching smoke inhalation treatments, what ages everyone was before the Blip, or what year x Star Wars battle happened. I just...try to be kind to my fellow writers and hope that karma comes back to me.
20. What story that you have written makes you the happiest to re-read?
The Cloak Verse is so soft, as a series. Everything in it is fluffy and whumpy and there just because I wanted it to exist. Also, everything I did for Pepperony Week 2019! I worked really hard on all of them, and every one came out really well imo. Again--theyâre fics I wanted to read for them, so I made them. OH, and Honorary Stark. Itâs EXCELLENT 5 Times fic in general, and I love when I get to do The OTP + The Parent&Child Relationship. (Plus, 3rd Person Perspective on The OTP!)
#i've come a long way as a writer tbh#over a decade of writing and almost a decade on Ao3#my writing#asks#savvysass

Arrow finale spec
This post is more of an attempt of making myself a little bit less sad about the possible Arrow endings that the writers keep hinting at than a rational speculation. Warning: this post is full of spoilers!
After this scene:
and this promo:
happened I just needed to list all the things that make me believe that weâll get a happy ending for Oliver Queen and his family. This show has been a part of my life for more than 7 years, and I canât accept a sad ending for a character that suffered so much and despite everything didnât give up (bc then whatâs the point?).
So hereâs my list of silver linings:
·       Felicity returning for 8x10: other than the fact that I canât wait to have my sunshine back bc I miss her like crazy, why would she return if itâs not for reuniting with his husband (and children *a girl can dream right, I mean I would give anything for a Queen family scene with all of them, just saying*)? Yeah, she can return for the funeral scene or whatever but I choose to believe otherwise. https://twitter.com/StephenAmell/status/1190300812745928705
·       This bts video of Kat: https://jbuffyangel.tumblr.com/post/189052305403/is-mias-room-pink-and-turquoise-cause-that-would https://dmichellewrites.tumblr.com/post/189072634976/klizia-on-twitter This scene would pretty much fit into the alternative reality theory (I guess the original future storyline has to stay canon for the spin-off, at the same time, I still donât get how they explain changing e.g. Royâs future â Dig told him about Lian Yu and how heâs going to help FTA, so that would change a future, if even a little bit, right? but I guess the writers will just ignore that, if I think too much about the possible consequences of time travel, my mind starts to spiral, so Iâm going to stop here.
·       I know there are ways to do it (like in the second post I linked), but how will Oliver be in the last episode, if he dies in Crisis (the crossover)? *maybe Iâm really foolish here, but yeah, I really want him not to die, okay?* Shooting for 8x10: https://twitter.com/StephenAmell/status/1192315782216081408 https://dmichellewrites.tumblr.com/post/189087046701/i-usually-dont-like-to-give-cg-clicks-but-the
·       And finally, the more they confirm it, the less I believe it: https://twitter.com/mguggenheim/status/1196611487810408448
Thereâs probably something I totally missed, but at the end, I can only hope for a finale we â and most of all Oliver and his family â deserve. đ

I was asked recently: do you enjoy writing for ll as much as you do for Felicity? You write Felicity like you can hear her thoughts. But then you go and write llâs character and you manage to keep her IN character without making her bitchy and without pulling her to bits. Do you like writing for her?
Beyond being hugely flattered â SO FLATTERED, MY GOODNESS â and mildly sceptical â Iâve never thought I was anything special in terms of writing ability but I do love keeping characters IN character whilst placing them in new situations â I can answer with complete confidence that, yes. I like writing for LLâs character.
I like knowing just how skewed her perception is. I enjoy writing that perception because in many ways, itâs incredibly indulgent. In reality, no one who wants to be loved and who wants a family should think like LL does. Itâs a point of view thatâs singular and therefore, interesting. But after writing for her, I truly donât think the writers knew what to do with their creation, and she was a creation. Just because her name is LL doesnât make her any less of a creation than Sara. Comic LL? Well, sheâs married to a cop; ergo the name Lance. This cop is abusive. Her personality is also very different and she isnât a lawyer. The writers tried very hard to make LL morally perfect but destroyed it when they realised sheâd have to compromise said morals to love Oliver. So they gave her a set of standards that no one could reach and yet had her break them every time Oliver was mentioned. However instead of showing real guilt or shame or SOMETHING that would enable her some character progression, they replaced it wit superiority. It made her a selfish character who were supposed to believe is the opposite.
But you see, well written characters â characters with substance, who arenât there for a plot purpose but as a defined personality on a show â can be selfless and still do selfish things. They can compromise their integrity and still be morally righteous. They can be good and yet see the virtue in violence.
I give thee Felicity Smoak.
Now KC did her own damage to LL in S1 â she was very determined to make her into something she wasnât too fast because she clearly believed this show had been created to turn her into a mask wielding superhero whoâs better than everyone. But the writers are the main problem â them and the execâs at CW who threw an actress at the show because she had a contract with them. She was SO not right for the character, but they didnât care. Sheâd starred in Supernatural so her name had merit.
(just a hypothetical: if Emily had been cast as LL, would she have possessed the skill to portray the character in a way that could make us like her? I think so, though the writers made this obscenely hard with their contradictory writing. Most would have a lot of difficulty. Still, Iâm almost certain that if she HAD been, Oliver would have married the BC: a BC a foot shorter with pretty blue eyes⊠you know like in the comics *eye roll* Her COMIC BOOK fans ignore even the comic book details.)
ANYWAY!
Itâs kind of fascinating really: I made sure to watch the episodes and ingest everything about the characters I write. I donât always do this and itâs been a while so itâs time for a re-watch (any excuse really) but a few things became incredibly clear once I started. I have a few of Felicityâs habits: I talk to myself in tangents of weirdness and get flustered/blush super easily. Iâm not a genius by any definition (mostly I'm a gigantic dumbass)Â but I wear glasses with my hair in a ponytail and Iâm not generally the first person seen in a crowded room so to speak, plus I overthink/second guess everything I say. Like Oliver, I blame myself for everything and worry too much. Iâm more solitary than most. I want to save everyone but have no idea how to. I love deeply.
I donât love easily.
Iâm not like Olicity. But when I write, I sort of become them. Or I attempt to. I feel my way through each scene and it becomes quite personal, which would explain the sentence breaks where I intermingle thought and movement with descriptions and speech.
Then I started writing for ll⊠now, I like to remain unbiased when I analyse a character. I donât like ll. I donât appreciate the way she was written in any season â Iâm referring to E1 LL, E2 Iâll talk about later â nor did I enjoy KCâs horrific portrayal. Itâs no secret, but that doesnât mean I canât be fair to her character.
I came up with three literary explanations of her character and this is one of them: the medium between the other two, from ll's point of view (please remember I am at work and therefore cannot write as well as I would like) -
Sheâs ordinary. Totally ordinary. A normal person who lives, works, eats, sleeps. We can empathise.
Sheâs part of a nuclear family and she knows her family loves her. She loves them. Theyâre not a perfect family but they are a good one.
She has an over exaggerated sense of how attractive and intelligent she is, exacerbated by how many people have told her that sheâs smart and beautiful. She knows because sheâs been told: sheâs never questioned her looks or her intelligence and itâs the start of all the bad really. It was reinforced by becoming friends with the two richest kids in the city.
So sheâs never had a reason to doubt herself. Not ever. Thereâs nothing in the world that ever could.
As for how this affects the story:
Through illogical and extremely unlikely circumstances â never explained for two reasons: it wasnât important enough to the writers and they wrote themselves into many a corner with llâs character as they tried to fit her into a universe that didnât want to house their forced creation â she became good friends with Tommy Merlyn and Oliver Queen.
Oliver Queen makes her do the one thing sheâs never done: doubt herself.
Surely sheâs pretty enough for him to choose her. Smart enough. Good enough. Strong enough. Enough. Sheâs ENOUGH for him. They fit each other. Heâs the Romeo to her Juliette. Sheâs aiming high and look, heâs right there: her partner along the way to the top. Her partner and her WAY. Her financer. Her ego boost. Her meal ticket. Her proof that sheâs ENOUGH. Her proof that sheâs relevant. That sheâs BETTER-
THAN. HER. SISTER.
Because, gosh: LLâs world is dictated, her entire sense of self validated, by the existence of Sara Lance. I kid you not. I found this in the show⊠and it should make you feel sympathy for her. Should make you care. But she destroys our ability to give a crap because of how she handles everything with her sister.
Sara, who is daddyâs girl.
Sara who Oliver keeps leering over and not the older, better sister.
Sara who her mother sides with all the time.
Sara with the multitude of friends.
Sara with the better body.
Sara. Sara. Sara.
Why? Laurel does everything right: she follows the rules, does as sheâs told, has become the role model. How does Sara keep BEATING her?
Is it⊠because Sara takes what she wants and gets away with it? She takes other peopleâs boyfriends - Laurelâs seen her do this (Arrow S1.5 comics) - she swindles her father for more allowance, her mother gives her free reign over the phone line⊠sheâs selfish.
Well then, so shall LL be.
Suddenly Saraâs grounded-
And it WAS the right thing to do, Sara was too young and she didnât want her heralded as a slut so soon. Ollie wouldnât want anything to do with her anyway, but the way she throws herself at him is embarrassing, right?
-And the âOllie Expressâ is open season. He says yes. They have sex. Now she has him. Sheâs wanted by Ollie Queen and heâs settling down for HER. No one else and certainly not Sara. Sheâs beaten Sara and sheâs assured a future for herself. His mother adores her. She fits in.
She can breathe freely again.
And Oliver, heâs so much more than people think: heâs sweet and kind- so what if heâs not that smart, sheâs smart enough for the both of them. Heâs reliable and honest. He makes her feels beautiful and wanted. All is right in the world. No matter what happens, sheâll always be the one who became Oliverâs first real girlfriend, because sheâs special to him. Sheâs SPECIAL. Sheâs what he-
Except heâs having an affair behind her back.
With Sara.
Sara who sheâd beaten.
Sara who isnât as smart or as pretty or as EVERYTHING as LL.
Sara whoâd gotten on a boat with her boyfriend.
Sheâs humiliated, but more than that⊠sheâs confused. Itâs nonsensical.
Sheâs everything. Sheâs perfect. Sheâs the ONE so⊠Oliver was happy. He was ready to move forwards with her. Why did he do this? Why does Sara keep beating her? Sheâs BETTER than Sara.
Sheâs better than all of them.
If they can't see that, see her... then why do they matter?
And then the realisation: sheâs hard done to. Sheâs the scorned woman. Sheâs the one betrayed. Sheâs the one whoâs grieving. Sheâs the one who deals with it in the best way. Sheâs the one whoâll walk out of this on top.
Oliver and Sara lost at sea? Thatâs nothing. NOTHING. Sheâs the one who got hurt and she never deserved it. They should have respected her. Should have loved her more. Ollie deserved to die at sea.
And so⊠an impetus is born: it generates into an unbreakable mind-set, separated from reality, one that we have to put up with until she dies. Literally.
Narcissism. Itâs almost a disorder.
And itâs in the most impossible form: she sets a deliberately high standard for the world to attempt to reach and she gets to watch from up high as everyone tries to touch her seat. A standard that everyone must follow EXCEPT her. If anyone fails to meet it for whatever reason (and they always do), then they fail her expectations and therefore they fail her (this was admitted by KC herself, just fyi). Theyâre no longer good enough.
But she is though. Sheâs the ONLY one good enough. She loves her family, but sheâs better than them. Theyâre all liars and stealers and selfish â Sara â betrayers â mom â neglecters â dad â cheaters and disappointments â Ollie â and unworthy â Tommy.
She doesnât need them, not ever. How could she when sheâs better? How could they ever meet her wavelength? How could they ever understand her mission, her heart, when they canât meet her at the top?
But then her father, who canât appreciate her because he isnât capable of seeing her the way he should, makes her feel GUILT about her choice to be a DA.
Uh oh. Suddenly; she doesnât sound righteous. She sounds like sheâs becoming a lawyer for money-
NO. no, LL doesnât do that, right? Sheâs better, so she canât. She canât fall beneath her FATHERâS set of standards because her own are so much better and she doesnât have to meet her own because theyâre for everyone else on the planet who are undeserving and have yet to face her justice. No one can outrun her justice, her standards.
Except herself.
But her fatherâs seen something in her, something twisted. The call of money and power and status and itâs a filthy thing isnât it? Greed. Lust. Covetous.
She becomes the expert at coveting what others have, even as she judges them.
But she has to hide the filth: sheâs better than her demons because she judges even them. Her father knows nothing. He doesnât see her, so how could he? Sheâll help him see her.
She joins CNRI to prove him wrong. Sheâs the pure one again whilst her fatherâs the alcoholic who canât get over the daughter who left instead of adoring the daughter who stayed. The daughter who fights.
She sleeps with Tommy because she can, because sheâs needy, because heâs Ollieâs best friend; the closest thing to the man she loves and hates and no one need ever know the notch she tied that night to her bed post.
Ollie did it with Sara after all. He could have had the bed post instead of just the notch. He died before he could realise that.
But it happens again and again for months and she has to admit, itâs thrilling aiming down. Obeying an urge for once and she needs the release: getting a job with CNRI immediately after law school instead of the requisite two years in a firm is impossible, but not for LL. Still, itâs tiring and it feels unrewarding, which is why she also needs the ego boost. She needs the validation, that it isn't all for nothing.
This way, sheâs both fucking her past goodbye and giving it the finger.
She stops once she gets the job. Stepping stones, all of it. She doesnât need Tommy, doesnât need her father, doesnât need law school anymore because she doesnât obey the rules like everyone else HAS to.
When Oliver returns, she ignores him. He should have died: it was his punishment for forsaking their happiness.
He canât touch her anymore; he can only watch from afar. She likes him watching. Likes him seeing exactly what he lost and can never have, what he destroyed.
Sara died because of him.
Her father became a drunk because of him.
Her mother left because of him.
She had to sleep with Tommy because of him.
All whilst he sunbathed on some island somewhere. And look, he doesnât have to work to earn a living: heâs loaded. He doesnât have to fight for anything, doesnât have to strive or push like she does-
Sheâs envious. And she misses him. And if she misses him, he must miss her. They used to be so happy-
Wait⊠He suffered on the island?
He was punished?
If he suffered⊠does that mean he learned from his mistakes and thatâs why he apologised?
He earned his stay on the island so maybe⊠heâs earned the right to forgiveness?
Suddenly heâs too tempting. She could have him again: heâs telling her she could. Oliver Queen, playboy billionaire, learned his lesson and wants her.
Of course he does.
Sheâs the best woman alive.
Itâs the biggest ego boost of her life; a wave of chemicals that carries her away, that makes her kiss him. That scares her because she thought she was strong enough to not ant him again. EXCITEDLY because if heâs also the vigilante who went to HER for help-
But then⊠he reveals that heâs damaged and still a playboy and she has to retract once he fails her standards again.
A damaged man who wonât pursue her? Not her problem. Sheâs not interested. That man isnât her Ollie. She'll check in again when he isn't quite so damaged.
Yet, even as Tommy worms into her, she keeps Oliver in mind.
It truly stuns her when he gives them his blessing. He⊠he was supposed to want her, to show reluctance.
Why does he look happy for them? Sheâs not.
Heâs giving up the chance of them, and heâs SMILING?
How can he be? Doesnât it torture him? Sheâs choosing his best friend over him, FEEL SOMETHING. FIGHT.
But he doesn't.
And he is changing, improving. Making waves - sheâs taking notice.
So let him date lesser women, they wonât last and they DONâT.
HAH.
In the meantime, sheâs fighting crime. The vigilante NEEDS her â he hasnât asked anyone else for help: thereâs only her. Tommy loves HER. Ollie loves her. Her father keeps butting in because heâs afraid for her safety and heâs realised just how prominent a figure sheâs becoming, how important she is, but heâs too late to have a say in her life and he must watch her advance.
It all revolves around her now, as it should have before. She's the lead of her own story. Theyâre all realising how right she was, how they never should have put her second and not first. How they should have never made her feel less, and itâs ridiculous how she ever let them. They were all wrong.
She was made for greatness.
And then Ollie tells her everything she already knew about herself and itâs a king-size aphrodisiac: he thinks the same way she does. He knows she was always the best, always the ONE. Heâs reached her level. And together they can soar above all others. Theyâre in love and will evolve and will lead the city into the future together. It's all slotting into place.
But heâs not her; heâs not righteous so she can ignore him when he gives her solid advice about staying out of the Glades. Heâll learn that she knows better, is better. That the world makes way for her and not the other way around-
Tommy dies.
Itâs not because of the way she thinks. It's not because she was wrong. Itâs NOT.
It was his choice, not hers. She doesnât have to listen, but he should have. She never wanted him to come get her, she was waiting for Oliver.
And Oliver does come to her apartment: they reminisce. Theyâre together and thatâs all that matters, so she starts planning. Heâll move in with her, thereâll be a marriage and move into the mansion-
Ollie leaves.
Again.
He left. He LEFT. HE-
No, she IS his ONE and ONLY. SHE IS. But the Hood and Malcolm ruined everything. Itâs their fault Tommy died, that Ollie left. It wasn't because she was wrong or that she wasn't/isn't enough.
Their fault, not hers.
So why⊠does she feel guilty?
She knows really, but she pushes it back, away. Admitting to it would irrevocably damage her belief system.
And⊠sheâs always right. And because sheâs right, she leads a righteous charge against the hood, because itâs all his fault. Tommy died, ollie left, sheâs feeling guilty and she keeps drinking- itâs all someone elseâs fault!
Except itâs not.
Itâs hers.
She'd been wrong.
Her world view crashes in on itself.
Nothing happened the way it was supposed to. She has no defence because she should have never needed one. Thatâs what being superior means.
Drugs and alcohol. How the mighty have fallen. No one can know⊠but even if they do, it doesnât matter because sheâs allowed to grieve like this. Itâs grieving. Not shame. She's allowed to drink and change and be self-destructive. And everyone else doesnât get it, they arenât being fair.
Tommy dies.
Ollie left again.
She loses her job.
Her best friend gets a position as DA, well sheâs not her best friend anymore: how dare she achieve greater. Johanna was supposed to help her, not step past her. Instead, LL is left behind and if her friend won't help her, then what good is she? She doesnât need Johanna; she doesnât need anyone.
Sheâs stronger. Better.
But then Sara comes backâŠ
Sara died. It was her punishment. Sheâs not serving her punishment anymore. And she's come back, looking like she'd been on a six year pleasure cruise. That isn't fair at all. Sheâs unworthy. She ruined LLâs life. Her death was justice. How can the source of all her problems be aliveâŠ
And beautiful
Vibrant
Intelligent
Attractive to Oliver
Beloved by her father- her father who turned against her again in favour of Sara
Sara who went through the worst and resurfaced out untouched. Clean. As if SHE IS stronger, better. More.
How can I be like that?
She canât.
Somewhere, deep down⊠she knows she canât.
And sheâs humbled by Sara who made her see how much sheâd fallen⊠and for now, Sara can be the better of the two. She can pick up the slack and LL can watch, proud of her baby sister. She can give herself a break and compare others to her sister. Measure them by Saraâs measuring stick.
But it wonât be long at all until sheâs BACK. Until sheâs just as bright.
Until sheâs better than Sara.
Until Sara needs her.
Until her father needs her.
Until Oliver needs her, because he stopped looking at her when she fell from on high.
She wants to return, to be part of that world.
But Sara is killed before she can become as beautiful. And itâs so clear that becoming as beautiful is impossible for LL. It too hard to digest that Sara is gone: Sara, the perfect fruition of a Lance daughter. The perfect her. The version of her that LL wished she'd been. So sheâll take on the mantle to honour SaraâŠ
And in becoming Sara, sheâs able to be more again. Be better again. Get back on that high saddle once more and sheâs missed it up there. It feels right. It feels REALLY good. Sheâs been watching and learning⊠and her covetous nature had never died. She canât be as bright as Sara.
So sheâll just become darker. A better Canary, never mind that canaries aren't dark.
Sheâll wear Saraâs suit but sheâll be more. Sheâll own it and make it her own, because this was always meant to be. It was never supposed to be Sara.
SHE is the justice you canât run from.
This is the world she was made for. Oliverâs world. It was meant to be. So what if heâs angry at her presence: itâs because he cares about her, because he loves her. She'll fight him for a spot. He let Sara fight with him because he didnât love her as much, but he loves LL too much. Thatâs why they arenât together. Sometimes itâs just too painful to risk.
And itâs the best therapy. No more drugs. Itâs addictive and itâs painful, but itâs better than anything else- in fact, itâs better than sex. Better than Oliver-
Oliver⊠Left?
With Felicity?
Because⊠he just wants her. HER. Out of everyone. Heâs casting aside the hood⊠for another woman.
He and ll: they're supposed to fighting together, THATâS how this works.
Then itâs just a phase. Heâll return and fight and realise he canât live without the hood. He canât without LL.
Except itâs not working, her fighting. Sheâs not changing the city so much as watching over it. Sheâs not moving forward. Thereâs a void.
Thereâs no more Sara.
She needs Sara. She needs Sara more than Ollie. The world made more sense with Sara. She might be the BC but Sara showed her the way. Her compass is gone. Her light is gone. And now LL is lost. If Saraâs back, sheâll feel better. Thereâll no more void. No more emptiness. And maybe her life can WORK again.
And itâs okay, because she needs it. Itâs okay to use Thea, because theyâre friends and LL is loved by all. It's okay if disturbing the dead because, she wants it badly enough. Itâs okay that Sara kills someone because itâs for the greater good: itâs for LL.
And with Sara alive somewhere, Oliver being with someone else doesnât feel so bad. Theyâre soul mates after all, maybe one dayâŠ
And then he and Felicity break up and itâs PERFECT: no more Felicity in the basement, they donât need her for him to stare at and Sara is alive. Oliver is TRAINING her. HE needs HER. Trusts her. LOVES her. WANTS HER.
So she suggests sex and-
He⊠is totally unreceptive. Isnât⊠remotely interested⊠isnât even remotely forward.
But⊠heâs in love with her and no longer tied down to Felicity. This should work. Itâs been leading to this, right?
She has it all: sheâs queen of the basement, Felicity is elsewhere and it doesnât matter â so what if Thea isnât talking to her, if Sara is out of the country. She and Oliver will fight crime together and maybe heâll learn to love her again. Maybe heâll-
Never. Love. Her. Not the way she loves him.
Because thereâs just NOTHING there for him with her. He's alone even when he's with her and she knows what that's like.
Maybe he never could reach high enough to her again.
Maybe he knows heâll never be good enoughâŠ
Or maybe... sheâs just that conceited and Felicity⊠Felicity is just THAT wonderful, that necessary to him because she is, isnât she? She was there when LL wasnât:
Felicity believed when LL didnât
Felicity cared when LL didnât
Felicity led him to places LL couldnât
Felicity is, in many ways, stronger than LL and Sara combined and that truth stings
Felicity changed him without trying to
Felicity made him better⊠and ll can already see the cracks in him where Felicityâs absence has hurt him.
Without Felicity, Oliver will fall: LL's presence won't stop that.
Without Felicity, the city will crumble⊠because in the end, llâs just a tiny pawn in a huge movement that she hasnât contributed much to and she admits this finally to herself and to Oliver. The dirty truth.
It was all to feel alive, not to SAVE lives. It was all for her. But that doesnât mean sheâll just let Oliver live without her because itâs thanks to her that he got on that boat: she helped create him! Sheâs responsible. Sheâs the ALBATROSS and she will never leave him. She changed his life forever: she left her indelible hand-print: SHE IS IMPORTANT DAMMIT.
The most important.
FLATLINE.
The end.
O_O
Yeah.
There's a less harsh explanation for LL:
Sheâs defensive due to the bad way she was treated after believing that her life was perfect, to her own detriment. She doesnât have the kind of personality others can enjoy and rather than try to gain friends, she decides to simply be herself no matter how she comes across.
And thereâs a much harsher explanation:
LL, at heart, isnât a very nice person. She knows this so she builds an image that opposes the inner her. Addictions make her feel better about who and what she is, but they also help her to manage the stress of being, inside, the kind of person who doesnât feel the empathy she should. There's an image to maintain so that no one knows the truth. Becoming a vigilante is more about how it feels to break rules and gain the kind of power only a mask can provide, than it is about helping people. In the end, sheâs able to gain that vindictive pleasure of knowing that Oliver will never be without her. And every version of a canary has caused Oliver nothing but grief which is fine⊠because he broke her. Deep down, she just wants to be bad without being judged for it. Without facing consequences, which is why black siren fit the bill so much more than E1 LL ever did.
Again, this is just an opinion and a bit of fun when writing fanfic-
Anyway, Jessica's shutting up now because thatâs enough out of me for one day. Back to work.

Felicity Megan Smoak-Queen is badass and the mother of sass
EPISODE 7x14 SPOILERS AHEAD...
Our badass since always is not only surviving (without wine, no less) but thriving and she made a huge breakthrough in facing her fears. Ever since Diaz found them in witness protection, Felicity has existed in some sort of limbo, trapped by her fear that she canât protect her family. Oliver and Felicity have had similar nightmares of her being in the woods and trying to outrun Diaz to protect their children.  In Oliverâs nightmare, she stood in front of William and Diaz shot her. Â
Oliver woke up gasping and alone in the bed of his prison cell. In Felicityâs nightmare, she is frantically searching for her crying infant but Diaz shoots her before she can get to the baby. Felicity wakes up gasping and alone in the bed she shares with Oliver. Could they really not give us a 15 second scene of Oliver being there to comfort her? Or maybe even 30 seconds for some good old-fashioned Oliver distracting her with shirtlessness and heart eyes?Â
A scene like that would have actually tied in nicely with the Olicity conversation. And they need actions to back up the words. Olicity sitting on opposite ends of the couch and not touching takes away from the emotional weight of the scene. Iâm here all day every day for Oliver letting Felicity know that he will support her decisions and have her back no matter what. (TBH, it should go without saying but since they made it a huge issue in season 5 and onward, Iâm glad they are addressing it). I also appreciated that Oliver acknowledged he didnât understand the depth of Felicityâs feelings when he got out of prison. Is that why Oliver has seemed distant? Couple that with having Oliver say heâs noticed she has been acting strange but not bothering to find out why just makes him seem uncaring and/or out-of-touch. And we know that is not consistent with Oliverâs character.Â
That is why actually having conversations with your spouse is extremely helpful but for reasons I will never understand, Arrow would rather show Felicity have longer chats with BS than she does with her husband. Meanwhile, Oliver is busy trying to âbondâ with someone who despises him (and is more than likely betraying him because we havenât seen enough of that apparently SMH) rather than spend time with his wife, who he knows has been going through a hard time. Why TF does Arrow keep insisting on limiting the interactions between Olicity and why does Oliver have to be a doormat for every-damn-body while seemingly never communicating with the person he claims to love the most?!?
See, even season 2 Oliver knew enough to ask Felicity that question and that guy was the piniest of pine trees lol. Speaking of season 2, a bright spot in the episode was the return of the real John Diggle and the rekindling of Deliciity! :)
I could not be happier about this. An actual apology would have been lovely but the fact that Diggle had her back this time was awesome. He let Felicity know she is more important than the mission because she is family. And he trusted her to do the right thing because in his heart of hearts, he knows sheâs a hero.
AMEN! So we got a Diggle/Felicity team-up with Diaz and a Lyla/Oliver team-up with Dante and it was glorious. Please for the love of all that is holy, free OTA from their NTA propping hell and give us the OGs (+Lyla) kicking all the ass and having double dates and being the family that they are to each other. Â
I need this trio back together as the focus of this show. Speaking of things that Arrow should focus on, how about letting the emotional moments breathe just a little more? We waited three weeks (or years, depending on your perspective lol) and there was pretty good build-up with Felicityâs speech but then we barely got to see Oliver react to Felicity telling him sheâs pregnant. Olicity shared sweet happy smiles and a hug before it abruptly cut away to another scene. You know Oliver Jonas Queen, the man who had this expression just imagining babies.....
...that man wept some serious tears of joy as he lifted Felicity up in his arms and swung her around the kitchen until she told him if he didnât want regurgitated mint chip on his coat, he needed to put her down. Â
Ooohhh, fam, did we just discover a way to get rid of the ugly coat?  Or BS could have enhanced her redemption arc by throwing it in the cell with Diaz before she set him on fire. Either way is fine by me. ;)
The flash forwards are still kind of a hot mess but the more of a hot mess they become, the more Iâm convinced the writers are eventually going to change the timeline in some way, shape, or form in a way that will alter the future events. In the meantime, Iâm just gonna sit back and enjoy Mia shading tf out of NTA/BC.Â
Sass personified. She truly is her motherâs daughter.Â
Last thoughts before I head to bed:  Felicity sitting on the counter in her cute comfy pajamas eating ice cream out of the carton is a forever MOOD and my aesthetic. Felicity out in the field being her capable, intelligent, and brave self while pregnant is a forever MOOD and my aesthetic. Our Queen can do it all! :)

Walking into my inbox like...
because of this article. LOL Thanks for all the heads up my friends. I didnât know it existed. Yes, I read it. Yes, it sounds like I wrote it. No, I did not write it. Some wonderful person named Lynsey Neill did. However, itâs possible we mind melded unbeknownst to us. She uses pretty words like âfully realized superheroâ too.Â
Dear Lynsey,
We should grab a virtual coffee and talk all things L*urel L*nce.
Love,Â
Me
Put me down for cosigned. This is actually a really positive article on E1 L*urel L*nce. It articulates a lot of the reasons why I loved LLâs character. I donât agree with all the points made, but the vast majority hits the nail on the head for me. I was invested in this character for many years too.Â
The L*uriver section is particularly stellar:
Ladies and gentlemen, if your boyfriend cheats on you with your sister and in the process she gets killed (or is presumed dead) would you ever think of them the same? Yeah, in that hypothetical scenario, they swiftly and irrevocably become someone you canât rely on. They arenât your person anymore, and probably never were. #TeamLaurel
SAY IT FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!
My biggest issue with L*uriver was I never wanted to see L*urel kiss Oliver again. Their relationship reminded me of something I really disliked about Oliver - he cheated. Any time he made a move on L*urel I was instantly reminded of the fact that he banged her sister on the regular for years. YUCK.Â
However, this section really brings the article home for me.
But they both moved on, Laurel forgave Oliver and they remained friends. For like a season in and a half. A good chunk of season 2 through season 4 they were just indifferent. Sometimes they would get into the occasional screaming match that required popcorn. However, if your relationship with the main character is indifferent, whatâs to stop the audience from feeling the same?
Yes, indifference is exactly how I felt about L*urel by the end of Season 4 and Ms. Neil captures why I felt this way perfectly.
As far as Bl*ck S*renâs redemption this sums it up for me:
All the sane and rational humans maintained that Black Siren was not the Laurel we lost. She was fun and stirred up trouble for our heroes. She had so much potential to just be a character thats unapologetically a bad person. Sure, everyone has their moments, but for the most part we want a ruthless female antagonist who has the face of a dead friend.
The fun of Bl*ck S*ren is she wears the face of their dead friend. All the drama comes from this angle. You run the risk of putting Bl*ck S*renâs character back to where L*urel L*nceâs character ended by redeeming her: indifference. A character arrives at indifference when the writers A) are no longer invested or B) theyâve run out of story ideas. I think both happened to L*urelâs character.Â
Oliver is as indifferent to Bl*ck S*ren as he was to L*urel, which automatically puts her character on an uphill battle.Â
The main character rejects Bl*ck S*ren entirely because she is not his L*urel and never can be. The only real tangible connection these two characters have is when Bl*ck S*ren is wreaking havoc on Star City and Oliver is forced to contend with her. He truly does not give a damn when she plays white hat and any interaction between the two plummets.Â
So... how is a redeemed Bl*ck S*ren any better than L*urel L*nce? It doesnât solve the main issue which is the character lacks any real connection to the star of the show.
Bl*ck S*ren playing lawyer and apologizing starts to strip her of the very things that make her interesting. There is no way this character can ever be E1 Laurel. They are simply different people. Any attempt by Bl*ck S*ren feels like an insult to our L*urel. Itâs like saying LL is replaceable with a look alike copy cat and the essence of who she was can simply be mimicked. Umm... NO.
Imagine for a moment it was Felicity who was killed offÂ
(I know I know. The horror but just roll with me for a second). Letâs say an evil version of Felicity exists out in the multiverse. (All evidence to the contrary but letâs fake it for the purpose of this hypothetical.)
If an evil Felicity came roaring into town, murdering people and causing general havoc, would we believe for a hot second she is our beloved Felicity? NO.
Would we accept any world in which this evil version is redeemed and therefore a replacement of the character we lost? OF COURSE NOT. Thatâs like saying Nazi Oliver can be our Oliver.Â
The only point I disagree with Ms. Neill on is I do believe there is a way to fold Bl*ck S*ren into Team Arrow, without losing all of the drama. If Bl*ck S*ren retains her darker tendencies, sarcasm and biting edge, then she can be to Team Arrow what Spike was to the Scooby Gang (before he got his soul back).Â
Team Arrow can openly hate on Bl*ck S*ren and shade her all day long.Â
Source: @ebettâ
Bl*ck S*ren can rip on Team Arrow while being a constant chaos causing unknown element for the team. Yet, they work together because their goals meld. Say for example Felicity and Bl*ck S*ren teaming up to stop Diaz. This can create A LOT of really fun scenes.
Do I think this packs as much punch as evil Bl*ck S*ren? No. I think the best use for the character is to go all in and make her the Big Bad. Sheâs a powerful meta human who wears the face of a woman Oliver once loved. She can make Oliverâs life a living hell if the writers embraced all the power this character has.
Unfortunately, they are constantly reeling Bl*ck S*ren in by making her a victim or someone who needs to be saved. Itâs ridiculous.Â
If Bl*ck Siren achieves redemption I have no doubt K*tie C*ssidy will play her in a different way from E1 Laurel or evil Bl*ck S*ren, so the arc itself doesnât really concern me in any way. Itâs more wishing the writers would take the character in another direction I find more interesting.Â
Do we need a third version of this character on top of Dinah Drakeâs BC? No. The cast is pretty bloated as is and we run the risk of these supporting characters taking up space without having anything to do. This is the reason LL was killed off in the first place.Â
Itâs not the first time Iâve disagreed with the writers on the characters KC plays and itâs it probably wonât be the last. Worst case, Iâll end up at indifferent again but my hope is the writers can still make this character interesting whether sheâs redeemed or not.

hi this is your secret santa again :) i hope your vacation was nice!!
the link unfortunately gives me my own spotify wrapped, i think the only way to share it is to copy all the songs to a new playlist or to take screenshots :(
who are your favorite arrow characters? dynamics? which other arrowverse shows do you like?
hi again!!! sorry, i didn't know that. i made it into a new playlist now, hopefully you can see it: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2Uf4ACL5ojGbvIRKRC4g92?si=e46104e74b434f15
my thoughts on arrowverse characters, dynamics and shows is under a cut bc when you give me an inch i take a mile, sorrryyy
idk if you can tell by how much i post about her, but felicity smoak is my fave hahaha not to overstate but she kind of changed my life. i'm a biology girly for life but she made me interested in coding which lead to me becoming a bioinformatics girlie âïž idk if i would've gone that route without her lol
i also love oliver and digg, of course!! in my (correct) opinion, the ota and olicity dynamics are the best in the show (at least when the writers don't make one of them into a pod person).
most of the other characters i think i love more in potential than in truth, tbh. i like the smoak-queen family dynamics but we literally did not get a single scene with all 4 of them in it. i think they really missed out on fleshing out lyla, she wouldâve been a great friend for felicity and i think having her more often show up as an ota ally wouldâve been great. i also enjoy the ota/roy dynamic and especially the felicity/roy dynamic but it's too short-lived. same with ota/sara. i'm also very attached to thea and the thea/oliver dynamic but i've come to realise it's maybe more that i love the thea from fanfic lol. same thing for laurel tbh, i'm attached to her and her dynamic with sara (and tommy!! god they were cute) but it's more that i love the laurel i made up in my head bc canon is very inconsistent with her characterisation imo.
i don't really watch other arrowverse shows, tbh. i watched s1 of black lightning in full and some spread-out episodes over the other shows, mostly when there were cameos from the characters i already liked or when i thought the premise for a certain ep or arc was especially interesting. which is how i came to love the whole poison mary arc from batwoman and s1e16 of supergirl.
to continue with the honesty train, the only arrowverse show i actively dislike is the flash. i enjoyed it a lot during their first season. i'm pretty sure i watched that season in full, but don't quote me on that. loved all the felicity cameos, especially in ep4, itâs super good!! i never liked it as much as arrow though, so when all the barry time travel shenanigans started changing things for the characters i was actually invested in and then the writers got the habit of constantly badmouthing oliver (which gets annoying quick when you're only watching a specific ep for an arrow character cameo), i started to really dislike it... :(
anyways, i hope my unending rant gave you something you can work with lol
#funny-ish story bc i apparently never get tired of talking: i got into biology/genetics bc of harry potter#so fandoms completely decided my professional/career interests lol#txt#anon#ask#psc secret santa

my thoughts on Arrow 6x18
I was excited for this episode and it turns out there was good reason. I might just start trusting Steve when he gets hyped over episodes now, heâs building quite a track record. So letâs dive in. I literally took these notes while I was watching so I apologize if theyâre a bit scattered.Â
Okay, Oliver is clearly off the rails. S1-2 suit and all. The man is a wrecking ball.
WaitâŠwhereâd he get the old suit? Did he break into evidence lockup? Is that why heâs at the precinct? I HAVE QUESTIONS.
Wait, the lockup didnât blow up when Siren blew up the previous place did it? I HAVE QUESTIONS, DAMMIT.
Ten hours earlier. Okay. So we learn why heâs nuts. Is it the Vertigo? I bet it the Vertigo.
If anyone can find rock solid proof of crooked city employees, its Felicity.
BAD COP CASTLE. LOL. Felicity is right. He canât go in alone. Cuz thatâs just INSANE.
LOLOLOL. âI parent trapped youâ BLESS YOU FELICITY. Yes, boys, get over your damn egos already.
âYou keep that attitude youâre gonna end up all aloneâ LISTEN, donât feed this boyâs fears, Dig!
Felicity KNOWS that Oliver is trying, DIGGLE. Câmon, man. FEEDING HIS FEARS. Stoppit!
âIf I get impeached, you get promotedâ OH SHIT, yeah if Oliver is impeached, Quentin is DEAD. You know what happens to mayors who arenât Oliver in this town.
God bless Quentin being on his side. Saying all these nice things... Oh yeah the man is dead.
SHE HACKED NAPSTER FOR HER SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT LOL
RAISA AND FELICITY INTERACTED. There is a god! Itâs been 84 years!
See I told yâall Felicity would have proof. Oh⊠but its implicating him. WAIT. STOP YELLING AT YOUR WIFE FOR HELPING YOU. Duuuuude.
Oh this scene. Yeah, heâs totally hallucinating this.Â
The best part is that the writers have done such a MASTER JOB of writing characters OOC this season that we honestly canât tell if Oliver is hallucinating or if this is something Felicity is REALLY saying
That said we SAW the Vertigo last ep folks. This isnât rocket science.
What is that tapping noise he keeps hearing? Is that the Vertigo? The heralding of a hallucination?
âMy wife wants a separationâ DONT MAKE ME SOB, OLIVER. Also she so doesnât. Itâs so sad that he believes this, he EXPECTED this.
I find it touching that he chooses Quentin to confide in here. His subconscious is kinda beautiful sometimes.Â
So he thinks he hasnât changed at all? Or he doesnât. Cuz Quentin is pep talking him but its HIM thinking this up⊠SHE LOVES YOU. YES SHE DOES. LISTEN TO YOUR FUCKED UP BRAIN, MAN.Â
Going to the council meeting hopped up on Vertigo seems a bad idea. So is this a hallucination? Or not? HELP. I HAVE CONFUSION.
THERES THAT NOISE AGAIN
YEAH PROMETHEUS!! But⊠Oliver⊠SEE. HEâS DEAD. Get a clue here.
Damn Oliverâs subconscious is kicking his ass. LOL this is such a metaphor. I canât deal.
So he kills Chase in his subconscious, something heâd evolved past before. But he wants to protect his family. LORD, Oliver you are fucked up.
THERES THAT NOISE AGAIN. Duuuuude Iâm starting to wonder if *Iâm* losing it. And Adrian. OK, Ollie. This is your clue here that youâre on Vertigo.
DING DING DING give the boy a cookie!
Chase trolling him is classic. I missed this guy so much. (And dude, you couldnât manage to take ANYONE from him⊠Sam so doesnât count)
I have to keep reminding myself this is Oliverâs subconscious.
âFelicity, William and I will be fine.â Of course you will. Youâre family.
Interesting⊠âyouâre a better Oliver Queen. But a worse hero.â HERE is the base of his worries. âYouâre the one enemy you canât defeatâ Damn your brain is clever, Oliver. But also wrong. STOP HATING YOURSELF.
I MISS THE QUEEN MANSION. This living room isnât QUITE right though. And fuckouttahere LL.You donât even look REMOTELY like pre-island LL.
I love Chase literally listing all the reasons LL as BC was a Dumb Thing.Â
So this is just convincing him he has to do go alone. If people fight with him, they get hurt. They die. Sometimes I think his protective instinct is too strong.
Awww hallucinating Raisa being killed by Dragon⊠thatâs rough. Letâs not go there, show, okay?
SEE yes he wants to do it alone. Donât listen to Vertigo!Hood, Oliver. The man is off his nut.
For a second there I thought Quentin said âWe need to retweetâ and I didnât even think that was an off thing to say. I NEED A NAP.
Okay so the s1-2 suit itself is a hallucination. And it symbolizes his need to do it alone. GOTCHA. Iâm all caught up now. Very clever.
Awww cute Felicity and William! She helped him put his project back together. But ohhhh no, she knows Oliver gone of the rails. âHe said you kicked him out?â âNo! I would never!â I KNEW IT.
LOL at William knowing exactly what Felicity is up to and bringing her sneakers. And holy cow he IS as tall as she is now!
OH NO DID YOU JUST HIT QUENTIN. I HOPE THAT WAS A HALLUCINATION.
RUN FELICITY RUN. Hey, thatâs the backlot of the studios. LOL. Oh it WAS QUENTIN, not a hallucination. Oliver, youâre in big trouble.
Sheâs very brave, going after him when heâs like this. And awww at her talking him down. âWhat happens to William?â âWilliam has you.â âWhat happens to ME?â BLESS.
âIâm glue, baby.â SHE CALLED HIM BABY. IM DYING.
Yes, listen to your wife. Sheâs your life partner. You canât get rid of her. âListen to your heart.â AWWW THIS IS SO SWEET.
YAY OLICITY STUNT! ITS BEEN 84 YEARS. Yep, Iâm watching this whole thing again tomorrow (today, when this is posted)
Felicity went to raves. Felicity did drugs. ITS CANON. WRITE THE FICS, FANDOM. FELICITY MEETS OLIVER AT A RAVE.
So the suit is REAL? I have my questions again!! WHERE DID IT COME FROM.
I donât like him going alone, but I DO like him saying that heâs not giving up on Felicity and William.
WELP there we go. Impeached. Saw that coming. Buncha boogers. Quentin is mayor! Heâs toast.
Firing Overwatch. AWW. I mean I get why heâs doing it but⊠fighting Diaz alone is the opposite of what he needs to do. But Iâm glad heâs apologizing to William.
AWW Felicity and William are most important to him! More than ANYTHING. I love this family.
Siren wants Diaz to kill Oliver⊠hows that redemption working for yâall? I canât believe loliver is less toxic than Siren/Oliver. đ
Okay, I have some more thoughts, especially now that Iâve had all night to think about this. So Iâm throwing in a cut.Â
While Iâm not fond of Oliver choosing to go alone, I get why heâs doing it. Itâs a plot point theyâve been angling towards, to be sure. But also I think they outlined why in this episode. Because what Dig said to him about being a poor leader has gotten to him and he really is wondering if itâs true. Things are piling up and what is falling by the wayside? What can he let fall by the wayside? One thing was made clear in this episode, what he cannot let fail is his family. Felicity, William... they are his priority above pretty much everything. He needs to save the city, absolutely, but not at the cost of his family. Oliver sees going alone as a way to save his family. Now, heâs wrong, of course.Â
Remember all those interviews that have hinted at Oliver learning how to ask for help? How Emily herself has mentioned that? I think thats the big lesson here. Heâs having a hard time juggling all his responsibilities, which means he has to learn how to relinquish control to others, to trust them to help him, to trust them to do what needs to be done to help him, to help the city. Iâm willing to wager that in the weeks ahead, given what weâve learned about the final eps of the season, the court case and all of that... that Felicity might be instrumental in organizing some help for Oliver. I think she might be the one to call in Human Target. But we shall see.Â
But something else... Diaz wanted Oliver to fall for the trap but Felicity thwarted that. Felicity said that their identities are safe but LOL... Thereâs zero chance that Diaz wonât find out that sheâs the one, the ONLY ONE who can pull Oliver back. So what happens to Felicity when Diaz realizes she the barrier between him and what he wants?Â
Whatâs important here is that Oliver will do whatever he has to save his family, to keep William and Felicity safe. I think Felicity focuses on her company next week because she has to help, the mission is a part of her now, but I think eventually sheâs going to push her way back onto Oliverâs team. Because he needs her. And maybe sheâll bring the rest of the team back together. But thatâs all *~*later*~* because for now, things are gonna start getting sooooo very real in the weeks ahead and Iâm really really really ready for it.Â

Is it true Barry only crossed over to help SG with their ratings? Some people say that but others say they're lying?
No one can confirm or deny the reason they made Barry cross over to Supergirl. But considering they started off saying it would never happen and then later it did, something tells me they realized they needed it. And the physical evidence that it worked is in the ratings jump for said crossover. From 1.3 to 1.7 for Barryâs appearance, and then back down to 1.3 after. This told CBS that it wasnât a long term solution for them, but also told CW that they could make Supergirl work on their network.Â
Iâm confused with all the info the CW dropped today, maybe you can confirm, is the flashâs 100th episode during the x-over or not?
Alas, I donât know the answer either. All I know is that this wouldnât be the first time the crossover has aired in December, so I donât know why people thought it meant anything for the 100th episode. The crossover was in December for S1 & 2, whereas itâs always been the eighth episode of the season.
Have they confirmed if KL is returning to LOT? I feel like they are doing this up in the air thing like they did when he left Flash and nobody really addressed if/when heâd return months later. Itâs weird but it makes me think maybe they donât know what they want to do with Wally or KL wants to move on to other projects. What are your thoughts?
They havenât confirmed it, and itâs super suspicious. Amaya literally left the team, and yet Maisie is a confirmed regular for S4 with her picture on the poster. Wally was still on the team, and yet heâs missing from both the season description and the poster.Â
I still feel like the Flash writers arenât stupid enough not to want Kid Flash on their show, even if they didnât know what to do with him. I mean, they donât know what to do with half their regulars and they still wonât let them go anywhere. So I have to imagine itâs up to Keiynan.
Watching Arrow 4x23 [THE APOLOGY TOUR 2018] I was ok until BC speech - Iâm sorry I was so hard on you. You know the truth is, I respect you more than you could ever knowâŠYou put together a team of heroes. Thatâs no small thing. And then DIAZ with that VOICE killed Quentin. I threw up a little in my mouth đ
Ugh, I HATE DIAZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quentin deserved better than that exit, and so did Paul. But I did love the Apology Tour, lol. Too bad heâs gonna have a lot more apologizing to do to Felicity when he gets out of jail.Â
Do you think the Arrow writers will do a Escape from Supermax storyline in season seven? How long do you think Oliver will stay in prison?
Yeah, I think theyâll have to so that Oliver can put a stop to Diaz and/or the Longbow Hunters. And honestly, I doubt heâll spend more than two episodes in jail. At max 7, because heâs got to be out for the crossover.
is it possible Caitlinâs mother turned her into a lab experiment or something?
Or her father, whom Caitlin idolizes and has repressed memories aboutâŠ

My observations watching đŻ Arrow 6x02 âTributeâ
YAAAAAAAASSSSSSSS!! This is the kind quality episode I expect from Arrow! Iâm so excited right now! I donât know if it is because I was so disappointed last week, but I think last nightâs episode was AWESOME!! So many things I like, and just 1 or 2 that bother me a little. So let me get into that. (spoilers ahead)
THINGS I LIKED
Oliver being all sassy with the reporters; just phenomenal! And mentioning Bruce Wayne was the best!
The new intro is AMAZING!! LOVE IT!!
Quentin driving the van like a pro.
Anatoli!! Yesss! Donât care he sorta bad guy now, if heâs there, Iâm happy. As mean as it was, I loved he taunting Oliver about knowing thing that the mayor shouldnât know.
I never believed that Anatoli was the one who leaked the photo. It didnât seem his style to me⊠and I was right. Probably it was the Helix guy or the new bad guy who we havenât met yet. Or⊠like one of my dearies said ( it was you @wherethereissmoak? Or you @hope-for-olicity?) it could have been Snoozan. She works at Channel 52, so if it was an internal thing, who better than her? Although, if it was her, she would have revealed the whole Bratva connection too, I guess.
Iâm sooooooooo happy that Felicity is finally talking and heading to create her own company! Thatâs something long overdue.
Iâm so loving all Oliver/William scenes. I just knew that Oliver would give the punching advice, I just knew it! Maybe not the best advice to give but itâs so him. And the kid is smart. loved he called his dadâs bs.
Felicity sitting on the mayorâs desk. I donât know why, I just love it
Rene giving Oliver parenting advices. So good! I love how their friendship has been growing.
THINGS THAT BOTHERED ME
The FBI agent. I mean, I get why sheâs investigating Oliver, but my question is where the hell have they been the last 5 years? During that time, plenty things have happened that could have use some FBI help to be resolved. Iâm just saying!
John lying. I mean, how much hard time Dig gave Oliver for keeping secrets from the team, and now he does the same thing? That makes no sense.
RANDOM THOUGHTS
Even if there was no olicity scene, Iâm not mad about that. Iâm just looking forward to next weekâs goodness. But unlike most who think that Oliver will give the key of his apartment as if asking Felicity to moving in with him and William, errâŠ. Iâm thinking that might not be quite like that. I take it a step back. The key definitely can be, but more like she has access to his place at any time, but moving in-moving in, you know what I mean
That of Oliver passing the mantle as the GA wonât last. I get why Oliver is asking that of Dig that but it wonât last. Besides, John is father too, and Rene, so it doesnât seem fair. I honestly thought Oliverâd ask John to be Williamâs guardian.
Call me crazy but I think by the end of the season Oliver could pull out Tony Stark and confess heâs in fact the Green Arrow, bc donât the writers always do for the finale like the opposite of the premiere? Now someone else outed him, then he could outed himself, not because heâs forced but because he wants to.
MEMORABLE LINES
âHas Bruce Wayne left Gotham City to hang out in Star City recently?â âOliverÂ
â⊠unless you know something a mayor should not knowâ âAnatoly
âMr. Terrific and Overwatchâ âOverwatch and Mr. Terrificâ âCurtis and Felicity (and damn straight!! Lol)

Random Arrow thoughts
Arrow is back, bitches!!!! YAY!!
These are my random thoughts for 6x01...
- So Oliverâs not running anymore, but at least the episode started with the coolest jump trick. It looked awesome!
- Wild Dog got a new suit! Looks very badass, love it! Iâm glad he survived Lian Yu.
- The jolly change in music when Curtis comes into the scene with his T-spheres chasing the missile, is so cheezy and random, I snickered watching that part. Felt like I was watching a cartoon.
- So Slade ran off on his own, leaving everyone behind?! And here during the hiatus I was thinking he would be the hero that would save them all (or most of them)... how disappointing. But they didnât really show how people survived yet, so thereâs hope that thereâs more story to tell in those flashbacks.
- DELICITY!! Dig wonât go without saving Felicity, thatâs my Digg! I wonder if his new PTSD has something to do with that explosion that got him? Itâs like in dire situations when he might get himself killed, Diggle freezes. After shooting his brother, looks like John is âseekingâ (or creating) deadly situations to punish himself?! Heâs taking unnecessary risks.
- Felicity with burgers... looks fucking hot! Donna is still there, phew... good to know, even through a mention.
- Ok, I didnât get it, was Oliver asking Felicity to join him and William for dinner because he wanted to tell his son that they are dating, or was there something else?! From Olicity this episode I got that they are âsecretlyâ (from William) seeing each other. They are being sneaky. And why would Oliver need a buffer with his son?
- Those two lovebirds are still killing me with their chemistry and sexual vibes. Oliver looking at Felicityâs lips when he asks âPromise?â is hot and yeah, very, very promising.
- The kid is still a terrible actor... I hope Stephen will teach him some basic acting skills, show him the ropes... The kid has to act out many very emotionally heavy scenes, so that excuses his poor acting somewhat. He has a lot to learn.
- Ok, I gotta admit, I have no idea why so many fans are so hyped for Raisaâs character. Iâve read about her more in fanfics than watched her on the show. The character was like in one episode, five seasons ago. So where does all the excitement come from?! Either way, itâs nice to have a returning character. And Iâm especially happy that the writers remember this character and the reaction that fans showed regarding Raisa, that they even concidered bringing her back. Bravo! Great move for the story - to have the nanny that raised Oliver, to help with his son!
- The kid isnât even looking at Oliver, and is calling him by name. Looks like Oliver hasnât had any progress in bonding with his son in those 5 months.
- Stupid Bob... why name a guy thatâs gonna get blown up in a minute, because of his stupidity?!
- Iâm really starting to hate those Black Sirenâs cat-walks... thatâs all she does FFS, just walks around like a peacock showing off its tail. I mean thereâs zero acting on her part, and my eyes were switching from her to that crazy toothless bomb lover Alex,  whenever they were in a shot togethere. So far sheâs a shell of the villain she ought to be, her goons do everything for her and sheâs someoneâs bitch herself... for me she lacks expressiveness, personality, and uniqueness... for now. How long is she gonna use the âdaugherâ card with Quentin, eh?!
-Â âUnless our Laurel is mysteriously back from the dead... - something I wouldnât put past either of the Lance sisters...â LOL... I chocked here. Arrow is making fun of itself... bwahahaha...
- Dinah is awesome!!! The girl can fight and the actress looks fantastic while kicking ass, unlike her predecessor. Finally, a worthy BC.
- They really never smell a trap and never learn that any thing left to be found is left there on purpose, TO BE FOUND...tsk
- Look, Quentin... Alternate Earths with infinite number of âusâ exist because of our differences from those other âusâ. Itâs the difference between us and them that creates the new possibility, the new âifâ in the Universe. And that difference is that special something that we ouselves could never be, or rather chose NOT to be. That choice, that different path in life is our insignia, our unique mark from birth to that point in life when the choice was made and each version of us on every Eath became a possibility. Itâs like building different constructions with the same bricks. The basic bricks are the same, but the finished design is unique in every case. At least thatâs how I understand this multiple Earths thing. Quentin sees his Laurel in BS, but at the same time doesnât BS see her dad in our Quentin?! Maybe her own dad was an asshole and thatâs part of the reason why she turned out this way?!
-  The whole scene where William points at Oliver as the âbad manâ, is really super cheezy. No kid would point at the man heâs afraid of and boldly call him a âbad manâ. That whole scene psychologically doesnât make sense to me. This is once again about Oliver feeling guilty, rather than the kid mourning his mother and figuring out how to live with his newly found superhero father...
- Was Arrow so low on  budget that they couldnât make Samanthaâs death more memorable?! Like make her cough up blood or something before she died? Really, that scene was so cut and dried, so routine...
- Felicity in every scene - so hot, but in the scene with that beautiful hair - so fucking gorgeous!!!
- Surprisingly, I enjoy scenes with Curtis! About time he is useful and stopped being a liability!! Go Curtis!
- Pike is alive... LOL. Good actor, why arenât they making his role more prominent?!
- Digg is pissed!!! I love pissed Digg. The man wanted to sit this one out, but ended up in the thick of it. I loved how he smashed into those racks with training equipment... so pissed...
-Â âTakes one to know one... sweetheart...â LOL!!
- Aw, Rene... such a sweet scene with Oliver!!
- I love how in this episode Oliver gives advices rather than receives them. Especially fatherly advice - with Rene, Quentin and even Slade. So much growth!!
- So Thea is in a coma, but sheâs gonna wake up sometime soon. I wonder if the bad guy will have something to do with it and maybe turn her to the dark side, or is she going to wake up on her own and just join the team?!
- The kids room looks stylish, but a little creepy for a kid. Lighten it up a bit, hang some posters or something else... All I can say is that the room looks like a  temporary place, not to live in, but to stay in, just for a while... I hope that changes.
- Oliverâs words to William were very touching and made me tear up. He said âIâm your dad. And the way that works is :Iâm gonna be there for you, wether you want me to be or not. I am never, ever, walking away from you!â And then I remembered another father that walked away from his child - Felicityâs dad. I think she can be helpful in some areas concerning absentee fathers and what itâs like to grow up with only your mother caring for you. In any case, I am looking forward to watching her interactions with William and Oliver as a father.
- Oh, I definitely wanna eavesdrop on Oliverâs late night calls with Felicity!!Â
- And BOOM! First episode, and the theme of the season is revealed! Yahoo!! This is awesome!
I loved the episode very much, and it definitely sparked my enthusiasm for this new season, Iâm very excited! I want Felicityâs wardrobe from this episode. What a gorgeous, elegant, intelligent woman Felicity is! Beautiful inside and outside!

I don't think Felicity was sidelined in 7a but she has definitely been pushed aside in 7b and disgustingly so in the 150th episode. I think it's very naive to think otherwise. Emily also didn't film a single day for 7x17 as she was in LA the whole time so she's even going to miss her first episode ever. This is problematic.
I think itâs not the best thing to tell people that theyâre naivefor having a different opinion to you. I never said to not be upset by how afavourite character is treated. I asked for people to see the bigger picture. Thatdoesnât make me naive.
I donât go around leaving asks in peopleâs inboxes tellingthem to make me feel better about something I donât like, which is what some anonsdo with me.
What I did do, wasask people to stop sending me the same asks without taking even a few hours toconsider the words they were using and I know that they didnât because in lessthan one hour after the title for 7.18 was released I received three asks allworded almost the exact same way:
ANOTHER EPISODE WHERE FELICITYâS BEING SIDE-LINED AGAIN.TELL ME IâM WRONG, COME ON!
Are you kidding me? Iâm not here to make up for that.
Did I appreciate the lack of Felicity in 7.13? No I didnât,but with Arrow itâs par for the course.
Do you know what IS naĂŻve? Ignoring how the show hasprogressed since forever ago and then dishing out anger in inboxes. Arrow does an excellent job of beingcontinuously inconsistent, it tries to detract from its own mistakes, it veryliterally ignores plot holes and avoids the things that need focus. Itâs donethis to every single character⊠and you guys EXPECTED 7.12 to be chock full ofwhat you wanted. No part of the fandom got what they wanted in 7.12. Thatepisode was DESIGNED to not only remind everyone of what the show had become, but to embrace the flash forwards.
The writers were telling us that, yes weâve heard how much you donât like the NTA and weâre getting ridof one of them soon so there you go! BUT.We donât really care whether you detest Dinah and Rene. We need them to buildthe FFâs and to evolve the team so that when Stephen and Emily and David leaveArrow, it wonât feel quite so much like the earth cracking in two.
They donât care.
7.12 wasnât this deliberate attempt to push Felicity out ofit, it was hailing the masks as heroes whilst keeping Overwatch to the side:the city doesnât know about her. The writers expect us to remember the thingsthey canât be bothered to include in the episodes. Beth didnât write 7.12,which was how I instinctively knew it wouldnât have what I wanted, though I letmyself hope.
I donât trust Beth, but I give her far more credence thanother writers on Arrow. They played us like a fiddle with their use ofmisdirection: the episode description alone suggested this, HOWEVER. Felicityhad the most important line in thisepisode.
She TOLD the audience to not use the word vigilantes to describeher husband. Theyâre heroes. Thereâs a reason Felicity said that and it leadsinto the FFâs. Why are the vigilantes looked down upon? Why are they hated whenweâre seeing them finally be recognised in the present? Why does Mia blamethem?
Like it. Donât like it. AT the end of the day, it wonâtchange a thing. The show is deliberately trying to expand away from the coreteam and 7.12 was the flag ship for that. Notice how each episode after the crossoverhas been singular.
7.10 was Emikoâs revelation. 7.11 was Sirenâs entire redemptivearc in one go. 7.12 was pushing an undeserving city to accept vigilantes for the heroes they are and a poor effort to bring back the john diggle of old. 7.13 was aboutOlicity as parents and William and how they get from a to b in terms of the present and future. 7.14 will be about OTA andFelicityâs pregnancy. 15 will be about OTA, the SCPD and the FFâs. 16 willbe about Mia. And so on and so forth. Theyâre all standalone episodes and itâsknocking us for a loop.
I would have loved for 7.12 to call-back to S2 and 3 and howOTA was set up. I THOUGHT this was the purpose to 7.12. Instead of focusing onthat, they focused on how the show has CHANGED, which wasnât what a lot of us wanted. It focused on how it shaped from S5 through to 7 with some S1 thrown in. Ifthey hadnât lauded the episode so much, WE wouldnât have cared so much.
Also, a lot of my anons tend to decide weeks in advance thatan episode is going to suck. Remember how good 7.13 was? Do you want to take aguess at how many anons told me it would be the exact opposite?
Now yeah: I donât care about BC because theyâve never beenable to stick with one which tells me they failed with that character big time. Sara. Laurel. Dinah. Evelyn. Now Zoe. Fail. Fail. Fail. Fail.
But, so what if they take an episode to focus on her. Iâm not taking this asa personal insult to myself. Nor am I taking this as an insult to Felicityâscharacter. Felicity, Oliver and the birds and so flipping detached from each other at this point. In fact, they've never been close. Whenever Felicity gets focus, I notice that no one gave a crap about everyone else's lack of limelight.
Would I love for her to have the limelight always? Yes. Would it have been great if her being present in every single episode description continue forever? Yes. But all good things come to end. She'll get the limelight again (DO NOT ASK ME WHEN: I am not a psychic) at some point.
The ENTIRETY of the OTA are not a theme in 7.18 either. The birdsare. To be honest, I kind of get it. Think about it:
Aside from pulling Rene up, being a hypocrite and looking down on Oliver, what hasDinahâs SL been this year? NOW sheâs lost her scream, perhaps forever. Perhapsnot. They just got rid of Curtis. This feels foreboding for her character.
Again, aside from trying to BE LL in order to redeem herselfand being Felicityâs BF, what is SirenâsSL this year.
I already listed the SLâs for felicity and theyâre severaltimes that of the other two.
It doesnât remotely bother me that Felicity (AND Oliver) wonâtbe in 7.18 much (save from her being Overwatch for them) because itâs lordingup each version of bird they possess (including Sara and the dead ll). It mighteven be a goodbye. No, Dinah isnâtleaving. I meant a goodbye to the canary cry or whatever the hell.
What they shouldbe doing in this episode (but Iâm not getting my hopes up) is finally makingthese women realise, like Felicity has always known, that you donât need a metascream to make a difference. Dinah is the lost canary because sheâs lost her ability. As I said before, sheâs nothing without her scream, so maybe this is where sherealises thatâs not true. Again, I donât care. It doesnât bother me. ItâsArrow. This happens all the time.
Emily did film for17. And 16. And 18. Sheâs filmed for them all. Just not much.
Neither has Stephen. In fact, she and Stephen have filmedfor similar amounts recently. And though the after winter hiatus arc has neverfocused on Olicity the way 7.13 did, weâre not even half way through 7b. Iâd rathersave my opinions until S7 is finished.
But Iâm not here to make anyone feel better: if you donât likemy opinions, then you donât have to ask for them.

I came from youtube watching some Oliver Queenâs vid and I found some videos about Oliver/Felicity and I watched them ( just to remember how it felt shipping them) but then I found some Laurel/Oliver videos which I watched them too( not the first time I watched their vids) and Idk feels hit me. Like I just realised things, not so sure about the realised part bc I always knew those things, they were always there it was just that I was so blind bc I wanted Felicity with Oliver and I left a comment in one of the videos I watched and this is the exact thing I wrote:
âShe (Laurel) was robbed! Her entire story was robbed and it was giving to other characters! I regret so much I used to ship Olicity, if I knew writers will be focusing so much on Felicity and her feelings for Oliver I wouldnt shipped her with him, bc the only reason Olicity even exist is bc writers decided to give it a chance as Felicity was a fan favorite. Writers decided to not pay attention to Oliver's feeling but instead they run their show on Felicity's. I dont know if I am explaining myself, what Oliver felt for Laurel wasnt something a man could erase from his heart with someone else, not even with someone as Felicity. The reason she was a fan favorite was bc she was so funny and I get it she is more than that, but it wasnt neccessary to make her relationship with Oliver as if it were more important than the one he had with Laurel. What he had with Laurel was deeper, even if it was a bad relationship they needed to work things out but instead writers ruinned them completely. Now I get, it has been cleared for me for the last 2 and half year - same time I havent watched Arrow -  and now I regret I was part of a fandom who play a part in ruining Oliver and Laurel's relationship. But the real ones to blame are writers, the ones who didnt stay true to their story.ï»żâ
Only for you to know Iâve felt like this since S3 began, with every ep I started to stop shipping those two. It wasnt like I want him back with Laurel but now I can acknowledge that Oliverâs real love is Laurel, it was the right thing to do. And as I said it before writers ignored Oliverâs feelings for Laurel, I think they all got confused with all the hype Olicity was getting from media and fans and instead of fixing things they just made him jump into Felicityâs arm as if he was madly in love with her. They got confused too - I think - by making Oliver caring for Felicity, in their minds Oliver cant worried about a woman without having romantic feelings for them and this is why I say they ignored his feelings. They only considered Felicityâs feelings for Oliver and that she was a fan favorite, so of course they made him âfeelâ what she was feeling for him. And now is all ruined.
They deprived us of Laurelâs story as BC (which I was waiting for since S1 when I read she was BC), she is the real one and I was so mad when she died bc she wasnt supposed to. I was so mad that her dead what was made me to not be back for watching this show when I was considering to do it again.Â
Writers did it wrong.Â

Bored Now: Arrow 6x19 Review (The Dragon)
What in the ever-loving hill tops of Olympus was THAT?
I was exhausted Thursday, so I missed the episode. However, I waited until Sunday because I wasnât motivated to watch given the fan reaction. But I figured it couldnât be that bad right?
Yes. Yes it can.
I would rather watch Oliver pontificate about his super-secret plan to stop gun violence (without revealing his super-secret plan to stop gun violence) than âThe Dr*gon.â I would rather watch L*urel earn her BC suit (without really earning it) by hallucinating her dead sister. I could watch Oliver and Sara bang fifty times over. Yes, I know what I am saying. 6x19 is worse than all the terrible 13th episodes combined! After six years and 134 episodes I am bestowing âThe Dr*gonâ with the title of WORST EPISODE EVER. Congratulations. We have a new low.
I flitted between enraged and bored watching âThe Dr*gonâ, so I feel Evil Willowâs iconic expression conveys my emotions nicely.
Letâs dig in⊠it wonât take long. I promise an excess of snarky gifs.
Felicity Smoak and Curtis Holt
This is the first week post Oliver firing Felicity. Yes, he can dress it up any way he likes, but thatâs exactly what he did. Felicity chooses to devote her extra free time to her company and reaches out to Curtis for a truce. A truce in these writersâ minds means FELICITY APOLOGIZES TO CURTIS.Â
Liz Kim, who co wrote the episode, explained:
Letâs pretend we live in a world of rainbows and unicorns where the main governing body is the Girl Scouts and instead of paying taxes we get free cookies.Â
We must live in this kind of world to understand what Liz Kim is pushing. Fine. Felicity isnât holding a grudge. Sheâs being the bigger person and is sorry for her role in the fight. If we look objectively at all six characters Felicity has the least to apologize for, but thatâs just details.Â
What infuriates me is Curtis just stands there and glowers at her. He oozes moral superiority, contempt and arrogance.Â
Why, dear writer, didnât Curtis then apologize to Felicity? If this is all about being the bigger person and not holding a grudge, why didnât Curtis step up to the plate next? Last time I checked, Curtis has as much to apologize for if not more than Felicity. Instead, we get Felicity apologizing to yet another man on this show and Curtis just stands there like a condescending lump.Â
UNACCEPTABLE.
Then Curtis cannot hide his glee over Diggle quitting the team. He wants to skip around the room and sing, âNananana boo booâ while Felicity is distraught about her husband being alone in the field. CURTIS HAS THE NERVE TO TELL FELICITY HE MUST FIGHT THE DESIRE TO GLOAT. But sure, what an amazing friend.Â
Listen asshat, if you tell someone you are trying not to gloat thatâs the same as gloating.
Why is Curtis the only âfriendâ Felicity is ever allowed to speak to? Why couldnât she have gone to Lance or even Diggle. Diggle has a beef with Oliver, not Felicity. I donât see how going to Curtis is any better than going to John in Oliverâs eyes. Hell, Iâd take a phone call Thea over this. I donât need to hear her side of the conversation.
How does anything Curtis says correlate to real friendship? He states the obvious â Felicity is using work to distract her from worrying about Oliver. OH MY GOD. THANK YOU SO MUCH CURTIS. WHAT WOULD WE HAVE DONE WITHOUT YOU HERE TO EXPLAIN THAT COMPLETELY OBVIOUS PLOT POINT TO US ALL?
Then, he almost laughs in her face about it, but can control himself enough to only gloat. Wow. Felicityâs friendship cup runneth over. And last, but not least, he refuses to take any responsibility for his role in the team breakdown. How magnanimous of him. What a petty little prick.
Also, why is Curtis always the one to fix a problem with the Helix tech? JUST ONCE I would like to see Felicity solve something tech related to this company without Curtisâ help. Felicity Smoak can program and hack anything. SHE INVENTED THE KEY PIECE OF RAYâS ATOM SUIT. But whenever Curtis is around she is forced to be clueless and rely on Curtisâ brilliance to save the day because LOOK AT WHAT A GOOD TEAM THEY ARE. She is a shining example of a genius female character and now sheâs being used to prop Curtisâ man baby brain. Itâs nauseating and unbelievably insulting to my gender.
If this is the route Arrow chooses to fix the breach between the two teams (OTA members apologizing while Newbies gloat) then I can safely say I will not forgive the newbies for anything theyâve done. They will be on my list of âCharacters Who Need to Dieâ for the remainder of the show. Starting with my number one spot â Curtis Holt.
Olicity
At least the writers knew the only way to get Olicity fans to watch this garbage pile of nonsense was to stick a 3 minutes Olicity scene at the end and promo the crap out of it. Â Unfortunately, the scene didnât give me âall the feelsâ the writers intended.Â
Felicity comes home in a panic after watching a news report stating the Green Arrow is probably dead.Â
Source: @oliverfelicitygifs
Oliver pops up behind her and a very relieved Felicity throws herself into his arms. Any gooey feels I have over Felicityâs concern and emotional hug are about to be obliterated. Felicity informs Oliver this set up doesnât work for her. When sheâs in the bunker, and knows where he is or can see what is happening, itâs easier to cope with her worry. Oliver condescendingly implies thereâs very little Felicity can do to help him while sheâs in the bunker.
Excuse me, but is Oliver a pod person now? How do we get from THIS
to THISÂ
to THIS.Â
Do the Arrow writers watch Arrow? This is why people get so fed up. We can go from one episode to the next and characters act completely OOC to push a storyline along. Oliver âYouâre My Partnerâ Queen is now saying Felicity can do very little to help?Â
Letâs just unravel the entire basis of the show and the reason the character exists in the first placeÂ
for another bullshit Oliver Queen regression that makes no sense.Â
All I am asking for is a modicum of character cohesion and storyline consistency. Is it so much to ask that the Arrow writers know the show and characters they are writing for? I think not.
After Felicity correctly argues she can and HAS helped Oliver many times, he does another 180 and tells Felicity she can never be helpless. Cool bro, but you stated the exact opposite 15 seconds ago.Â
Oliver decides itâs time to placate his wifeâs legitimate fears by telling her he will always come home.
Source: @oliverfelicitygifsâ
Sure, itâs a nice foreshadow for the future since Oliver is probably going to land himself in jail. This scene can serve as reassurance for all those terrified Oliver is going to do 25 to life. I take issue with the promise, however. Do you know why Oliver didnât make that promise to Felicity in 2x09?Â
Because he respected her too much to lie to her. Oliver knew then he doesnât always have control over what happens to him in this line of work. Accepting death and not being afraid of it is part of the job description. Oliver knows this is a promise he canât keep because NOBODY CAN. The tiny look of hesitation and resignation his face after hugging Felicity proves it.
Source: @oliverfelicitygifsâ
We tell our children little white lies to ease their fears because sometimes they arenât old enough to understand the truth. Was the promise Oliver made to William completely true? No. Should he have made the promise? Probably not, but I understood why he did. Oliver was trying to ease his sonâs fears because William is a child.
But Felicity is a grown woman. Oliver doesnât need to tell little white lies to his wife so he can continue his deeply stupid need to regress. The only reason Felicity needs to buy into this obvious lie is so she can function while Oliver is out in the field by himself. Â How about Oliver LISTENS to his wife and acknowledges the truth â he canât do this without her. Even emotionally stunted Oliver Queen understood THAT.Â
Weâre really supposed to believe emotionally evolved Oliver doesnât?Â
I MEAN GIVE ME A FRIGGIN BREAK.
This is why viewers get so frustrated with Arrow. The characters can change personalities like the show changes writers.Â
Things we know to be true, and are the backbone of the series, are tossed aside to make an illogical plotlines work. It does nothing to service the characters, show or viewers. All thatâs left is a terrible hour of television.
The Dr*gon and Bl*ck S*ren
The function of this episode is to make us give a flying flip about the Dr*gon. However, we are given a sloppily slapped together back story that doesnât connect to any of the main characters whatsoever â particularly Oliver. Â
Di*z grew up in an orphanage and was bullied by an older boy. This is the reason heâs become a menace to society.Â
He named his fear âThe Dr*gonâ and tattooed it everywhere because heâs so tortured and intense.
Heâs been trying to move up the criminal ladder to conquer his fear and be respected as a legitimate crime lord. Ummm⊠okay? Good luck with that. WHY DO I CARE? Oh, thatâs right. I donât.Â
Ultimately, Di*z gets a seat on the Quadrant (Season 7 villain set up for sure) and revenge on the kid who bullied him as a child. The moral of the story is donât be a bully because someday the kid you tortured might show up on your door step and light you on fire.
I thought this was supposed to be the season of many villains. Werenât we doing away with the singular Big Bad? Why are we suddenly zeroing in on the lamest villain in the group? Heâs so lame the writers had to come up with an entire episode to mitigate the lameness.
Di*z and Sir*n spend 85% of the episode sitting in a car trading fortune cookie sayings with one another. They go on and on and on about power, control and not being a dog. Itâs a lot about not rolling over, bellies, tails... maybe an ear. Think of every single villain clichĂ© youâve ever seen and that sums up âThe Dr*gon.âÂ
Di*zâs moves are utterly predicable and Iâve heard the dialogue in about fifty other shows/movies. I wish they had just gone full throttle with plagiarism and stuck, âIâll make him an offer he canât refuseâ in there. Itâd feel more honest.
BS spends the entire episode asking the big strong man how to be a big strong villain. So, a win for feminism all around.Â
BS is so busy telling Di*z not to âroll overâ she fails to see sheâs following him around like a lost puppy. Â
Di*z is the lamest Arrow villain in history (Yes, even worse than Sebastian Blood), but BS is his henchman. So, what does that make her? Nothing good! Iâll tell ya that much.Â
In C*ssidyâs defense the dialogue is cringe worthy, but she didnât make it any better with the over the top acting.
BS tells Di*z not to be a wuss, but when he listens she acts like she has a problem with violence. YOU JUST TOLD HIM NOT TO ROLL OVER. HEâS DOING WHAT YOU ASKED, KEVIN.Â
Yet, her eyes cannot behold the horror of Di*z beating a man. Her soul withers at the sight of Di*z killing. She blinks, sighs and turns away in disgust. SHE IS SO CONFLICTED.
Oh, holy hell. Are you kidding me with this crap? This is the same character who killed a security guard begging for his life. This is the same character who screamed in another manâs ear until his veins popped. Sheâs tried to kill the team multiple times. Itâs a little difficult to believe BS has a hard time watching someone get punched. But weâre supposed to believe it because REDEMPTION. Sorry, Imma gonna need a little more than excessive blinking from C*ssidy to sell me on that one.
Di*zâs need to be a legitimate crime boss doesnât mean the character translates as any more than the common street thug he is. His backstory is intended to make him look complex, but it does the direct opposite. Weâve seen âa villain is made not bornâ trope a thousand times, including on Arrow. Unfortunately, âbullied in an orphanageâ doesnât hold up against the backstories of Slade, Merlyn, Raâs Ahl Ghul or Prometheus.Â
BS has the nerve to compare Di*z to Adrian Chase and I laughed out loud.Â
BS spent all of 15 seconds with Chase, but she knows his anger consumed him? Okay, cupcake. Whatever you say. Comparing the genius ways Chase inflicted pain and revenge on Oliver to the Dr*gonâs hum drum plan of vertigo and the Quadrant is just wrong. Why didnât they do this villain focused episode with PROMETHEUS? That would have been a good time.
âBut Jen, you didnât like Prometheus at first. You thought he was boring and then you loved him.â Sure, thatâs true, but by episode 19 we were full throttle on Adrianâs crazy.
Thereâs nothing to unmask with Di*z. This isnât Josh Segarra going to another level. If it was those things then 6x19 was the episode to do it. All thatâs revealed is more boring on top of boring. Â I can tolerate a misfire in the 10-15-episode range, but weâre rapidly approaching the end. It is incredibly late in the season to be telling us why we should give a flying fig newtin about Di*z. The writers need to come armed with a hell of a lot more than bullied and power hungry for a chair.
Stray Thoughts
Itâs safe to say itâs going to be a terrible episode if the writer is tweeting as a PR defense strategy. We shouldnât need episodes explained to us, but if we do then the answers should make a modicum of sense.
Oliver was in episode 3x10 more AND HE WASÂ âDEAD.â Thereâs a reason why Stephen Amell is the star. He carries the show. Donât ever bench him, writers.
