sometimes it hits me in the face that a real person fact about me is that, when I was a child I was a villager. I lived in a village. I walked to the next village over, every day, to go to school
When I say it like that to an american I feel like I have the backstory of a dickensian orphan
#my posts#I was a normal English schoolchild I swear#I just happened to live in a small village#and every village in England is close bc it was all built before cars#ah#the fondness of passing into the next village and seeing the puckeridge sign#always lovingly vandalized to say fuckeridge#but yeah genuinely used to walk to school in the next village over#I’m only in my 20s#Americans act like I am a poor unfortunate orphan#bc everything in America is built fuckoff far from each other#I think I’ve been in subdivisions the size of my village
