Alright y'all, first Sunnyblr post but this one is real important to me because it includes both something that is threatening TO ME as a writer and also something I see as mischaracterization which is something I despise. My apologies if I can't put this together in a better way, I feel real anxious right now lmao. You may have seen the clip, maybe two, of Glenn talking about AI. This has caused a major reaction, originally down on Twitter (bcs. of course) and I guess I'm here to provide the whole thing, in writing.

First thing's first I wanna reassure you that Glenn did not use AI in the writers room. He views AI as a threat.

I watched the whole interview when it came out and here's the summary: He says he was personally surprised by the quality of the AI at writing jokes, some time after Matt expresses that he doesn't view ChatGPT/AI to be "good enough" to really interfere with writers (may have to check up on this wording). They did not use this material in the show. Charlie and Glenn did this only to test it. This follows by him saying he thinks we're gonna get to a point where eventually we'll have to accept the way things are going (at the point we're at already I think we can't really fight AI here, but put protections in place for writers against AI and its improper usage, so using it to solely generate ideas, using it as a replacement for writers as a whole, etc), that it's a tool people will have to learn to use, but that ultimately there'd still need to be at least one human in the room to curate it all because there's never really going to be a fully finished product (which isn't an endorsement of that type of heavy AI usage, seems more like an observation and that AI will always still have limits).

Jay continues from this saying that even if it does create a fully finished product, there'll still be the appetite for people to tell stories to other people, and that for every big shift it stays the same. Jay is also in agreement that it'd be a tool but that it isn't something to be scared of, just more aware of; he doesn't view it as a threat. Glenn replies that he does view it as a threat and continues to talk cynically about it, saying we could be close to having just one guy and then your writers room is entirely chatbots (this is not spoken as a good thing obviously. It's kinda comedic but there's truth in it especially for cynical people I suppose). Matt makes a joke about that being Glenn's dream and Glenn laughs about it (it was pretty fucking funny) and is like "i'm a bit misanthropic ur right lol". When Matt begins speaking again Glenn jumps in to say that he is not saying that it's a good thing, which is more likely to be in reference to AI as well. At the end of the question Jay says he stands with the WGA and Glenn agrees. That is all that is said in that portion of the interview. So I suppose the end point is... he doesn't support AI, certainly not to the extent some are making it seem.

I get major anxiety when it comes to things like this - as in, people reacting to something in a way that indicates they have misinterpreted or don't have the full thing or anything like this, it legitimately makes me feel sick. I can understand people's reactions at least because AI is a threat! That's why the WGA wants protections for writers from the improper usage of AI, because they've drawn similar conclusions and want to prevent it. Fuck, I'm a writer. I of all people would understand how this affects anything. But this specific situation is not one that really calls for the type of reaction it has received? It's gotten to a point where people have started attacking him for real petty reasons like appearance because of it. It's immature, unnecessary, and really just low.

If I've had the most uncritical thinking moment in the whole universe and you think there's something really wrong with the way I have viewed the situation, that I've been the one to misinterpret it, then please be civil about it. Or even if there's a point you want to just bring up. Due to issues I have, I avoid posting about a lot of things because I'm always focused on getting things right and the idea that I may be getting it wrong, in a space where people can see (and let's be honest there's always a chance of seeing the most vile shit in response and I feel anxious over it for days which is unhealthy), is distressing to me. But I'm slowly putting myself out there lol, I mostly just came here to give comfort to anyone or assuage much of their anxiety as possible. I do not at any point want to look like I'm dickriding but this is something I feel has truly been perceived wrong by a lot of people! I think the timing of everything, being asked that question and answering it during the strike, has definitely contributed to a lot of this and tension is high for a lot but I genuinely think Glenn's answer as well as Jay's were nuanced for the time they had to answer it (they can't go on too long) and I appreciate that. I only said that about austin/dune not because I don’t want anyone else to get attention of course I do. But because it social media campaigns look at who will bring them most positive content and it seems like both dune and MOTA have toned down on Austin a lot because is internet comments it doesn’t have anything to do with me not expecting other cast members to get promotion. If someone questions something no need to take it to the extreme and trash the person asking a question

i dont think anyone was trashing anyone. but we can only go off of what's included in what people say, and when i *have* gotten anons about both mota and dune that have felt like very directed complaining about other cast members breathing on the press tour, it's easy for me to assume what's meant by vague questions like that. i said this on my priv twitter this morning, but i feel like ive auto deleted more anons in the past week or so then i *ever* have on here. its gen bringing me down a little that we just got a new austin project for the first time since 2022 but my inbox has been largely negative.

sorry i and the follow up anon were wrong in this case, but my point stands. and mota didn't "tone down" anything over internet comments. austin didn't go to dc likely because he wanted to go home before he's on the dune world tour for a month here soon. they've posted plenty of austin pics on the apple tv account, a photo dump or two that doesn't include him doesn't "mean" anything. they have a *big* cast and esp when characters are going to start dying as the show picks up/certain actors won't be in future episodes when their characters get killed off there's nothing nefarious about them trying to promote the others. apple tv isnt going to pull back promo of a main character bc some people on twitter are making dumb jokes about elvis voice. that's genuinely just. not a professional choice that would be made by a juggernaut like apple. a network will pull promo on someone back if they're dealing with something gen problematic, like an arrest or an abuse scandal or an actor being racist or homophobic. not some people on twitter making bad jokes about them. and i wish people wouldn't convince themselves of this bc i gen don't want y'all to work yourself into a panic over nothing. dune hasn't "pulled back" anything either. they've barley started press at all! warner bros also did the damn elvis movie, they really aren't yanking anything or anybody over mentions of another production of theirs.

fandom is supposed to be fun. i'm not gonna give into working myself into a negative spiral and ruin that fun for myself.

hey everyone! I hope y'all are doing well? How's winter doing you guys? I'm sorry I've been M.I.A(haha) for the last couple of months. That wasn't part of the plan at all. I was so ready to be posting stories on here more that I had planned. I was going to post my next one about I.N in October after I had gotten back from a concert bc I was so excited for it. but I got the flu the following week and when I get sick, which hardly ever happens, I get sick sick. bad sick. after all that, without going into too much. my mental state vanished and I was not in a good place at all, it still isn't. mainly bc of eating and body issues. so I haven't been on the internet of much, like I would pop on tumblr here and there. hardly got on twitter, insta, fb, etc. the only thing I have been on is youtube, watching Markiplier. I'm hoping next year, I'll finally get therapy like I've been wanting and needing. but I'm doing a little better, I feel a little better today. enough to start writing and posting again. I'm okay, I will be.

so on to the stories that have been in my drafts since the middle/end of this year. let me tell you about some of them. I have 4. and for the person who sent in a request with chan, don't worry, I saw it! It's coming and I love your request. and for anyone reading this, my requests are always open, even if it takes me a min to see. even if it is just a small one, I would love to write something for you. writing in general makes me happy.

1.) Yang Jeongin - it's called love for an angel. basically it's ab a guardian angel(i.n) that falls in love with the human their protecting(the reader), which isn't supposed to happen and isn't allowed. angels are supposed to be invisible, but one day the reader sees him and fall in love. and yeah, I don't want to spoil too much but I absolutely love it and is probably one of my favs that I've been working on.

2.) Lee Felix - it doesn't have a title yet, still thinking of one. it's where felix and the reader are best friends and roommates(and they were roommates. did anyone see the tiktok update ab that vine and the story broooo). oh wow, shocking! and the reader tells felix that she's hasn't had great sex and felix offers to try and maybe help her out. it's short, but I'm pretty sure I haven't written something smexy for felix yet. and if I did, I probably didn't post it...memory is kinda foggy still.

3.) Hwang Hyunjin - it's part 2 to it's gonna happen. I've only written a few sentences. It was the last thing I worked on before going M.I.A, so I didn't get that far. I have bullet points of what's going to happen in the story(and so I don't for forget what I was going to write) and from the looks of it wont be as long as the the first part. just kinda of any update of what happens next in this story. don't worry, I wrote down in one of the bullet points: "a lot a smut scenes" ehehe

and 4.) Lee Minho - the story that I've been working on for the longest time and so proud of. and that still doesn't have a name! 🫠 sadly, it is still not anywhere close to being finished. I really want it to be good so I'm taking my time with it. I'll give WIP updates about it soon. rn, it has 4k words. like I'm at the part where the reader and lino are having their first convertion...this fic is my baby. I love it so much bc it has space, and I love space and the stars. I'm fully ignoring my fear of heights and big metal objects that go in the air or under/on the water.😀

but yeh, that's it. guessing what fics are coming out soon. felix and jeongin's most likely. then hyunjin's then....maybe not the lino in space one. pffft. next year, I promise!

Do I have to post a title?

So, I did come here from twitter, but I always lurked here without an account. I started a Twitter bc I had just graduated with my MFA and I was told that I needed it to get my name out for my writing. Jesus Fuck it was a lot of work. A lot. Of. Work. I scaled back a ton in the last year and my engagement there diminished like Halloween decorations at the end of October (stop putting neglecting Halloween to put out Christmas shit! Sometimes I want to buy Halloween decorations right before Halloween!), then the whole Muskgate happened and now I am here, looking for another soc med home to be weird in. I can say...I am enjoying it a lot more.

I have to say, I found a few things interesting in the few weeks I have been here:

How much you post doesn't really matter. Twitter's algorithms make the need to post all the time imperative to be seen. I mean, yea. The more you post, the more likely you will be seen, but there doesn't seem to be an algorithm attached to force some things to the top. This is nice because trying to find things to post every hour min on Twitter was exhausting. No wonder ppl pay for soc med ppl.

I am having a hard time breaking habits from Twitter. Again, that algorithm is shit and it's all about engagement. But here, it isn't. I feel sad when no one has said anything or I don't have new ppl following me, then I realize this isn't Twitter and I can just chill and scroll and the Tumblr Gods won't get pissy like the Twitter gods do.

I like it a lot more. A lot of weirdos are here, and that is awesome. I feel like I blend in better than over "there" where everyone is trying to catch -and retain- attention. I am finding that sometimes that quiet scrolling is just what I need. Not constant bs tweets from bs people and political bs. Dammit, sometimes I just want to look at some cat pictures.

fandom and the criticism paradox: an essay

So there was recently some twitter drama about a thread where people were supposed to post "cancelable" opinions about fanfic. unsurprisingly, someone saw something in that thread that applied to their own fic and then deleted all their fics off AO3.

there was some backlash to this incident in two specific ways that I saw:

(a) criticizing the author for being so sensitive/looking at this thread in the first place

(b) rejecting criticism of fanfiction bc fanfiction is not forprofit

to be clear, I have no particular stake in the fic trope in question being criticized or the author who deleted, they are specific to a fandom I am not in. what this makes me think about more than anything is the uneasy role of fanfiction as an art form. (if you disagree that fanfic is art you can stop reading here, that is my central premise).

I've been involved in fandom in one way or another for ~15 years, and I can still recall that in the days of yore on fanfiction.net, people would add "concrit welcome" or "read and CC!" in the notes if they wanted to receive constructive criticism. Actually, when I went back to delete my fanfiction.net account several months ago, I discovered also that I as a 13-year-old was exactly the kind of asshole who GAVE constructive criticism, in a tone that would make me furiously angry if someone left that kind of comment for me on AO3.

I can also recall that as a 13-year-old, I received some dismissive commentary that made me discontinue a fic entirely. It was a terrible fic, it was marauders-era HP fanfic about Sirius Black falling for an OC who was best friends with Lily Evans structured around Beatles lyrics. I shudder to think of it and am thrilled it is lost to the sands of time and internet decay. But when someone left a comment making fun of how unoriginal this concept was, it hurt my feelings and made me move on to a different fandom. (This was literally at least a decade before the two cakes meme).

When I moved over to livejournal, it quickly became clear that this was a safer space to experiment, the worst that would happen there was that a fic would go ignored, not that people would leave condescending criticism. Maybe sometimes someone would message you to point something out, or fix a typo or something, but any sort of criticism was happening in private where I couldn't see it. Livejournal is where I really started challenging myself to write interesting concepts or experimental styles (all of which I also shudder to think of now).

Fast forward to AO3, and it is entirely impolite and not the done thing to leave any sort of criticism on a piece of fanfiction. What's more, AO3 is an archive. The author appears far more as an author rather than as a lowly blog runner among many; it's only when you follow them to tumblr or discord that you get to know the person behind the story, otherwise they appear to you only as an author.

There's still a much greater familiarity than there is on, say, goodreads. Published authors have access to their goodreads pages, they can see everything you say about their books there and some of them do check, but the comforting distance of a publisher and a for-profit book makes us more okay with that than with an ao3-review that lands directly in the author's inbox or the snide remark in the bookmark tags that the author will also see. (although I see y'all out there creating goodreads pages for my fanfiction and that....my dudes that's just weird why are you doing this?)

At the same time, though, the fanfiction author did not invent being sensitive about negative feedback. Authors being butthurt about bad reviews has been around for about as long as books. And I get why! Writing is personal. You put a lot of yourself into each word, and having it be rejected, or even mildly criticized, is uncomfortable and unpleasant. There's something to be said for the fact that it's a lot easier to leave negative feedback than positive. It's much easier to pinpoint what you don't like about something than to praise specific things you liked - I actually think ao3 comments are a great practice arena for giving praise and valuing what's done well, a thing I know I don't do enough irl.

So we can say that one arena which separates the fanfiction author from the published author is the directness with which criticism is received. Critical comments go straight from one user to another. In most cases when I've received them, they have been anonymous, probably because the user knows they're breaking fandom norms. Sure, criticism is hurtful for published authors as well, but they have two benefits: one, they are spoken ABOUT and not TO. And two, which leads me to the second point, at least they're getting paid.

The other big issue people raise is that fanfic authors aren't being paid; they are contributing their fanworks out of love, often in spare time as students or while working full-time. Fanfiction is not a commodity, you aren't buying a service and as such you have no right, as a reader, to complain.

This is not a point I can or want to argue; fanfiction is a labor of love and to see the work someone put in and decide to tear them down over not being great at dialogue or whatever is just a dick move.

But.

The thing that gets to me, the white-hot burning core of this argument to me, is that it can't be absolute. And this is where I run up against the central issue of debates about anything substantive on twitter or tumblr, and also why this post is so fricking long - these points are made briefly and succinctly and when you do that it sounds like you're making an absolute statement about whether fanfic should be criticized at all, ever, and I don't think that works.

See, I happen to think a thread asking for "cancellable fanfic takes" is an easy way to stir shit - it's bound to step on some toes and if you're posting in that thread, you're going to have to be okay with stepping on toes.

However, I also think that people should be allowed to have opinions on fanfic tropes in general without authors taking it personally immediately. Like, here, let me out myself: I don't like high school AUs. At all. Don't read 'em. Sometimes I filter them out on AO3 because I don't want to see them!

What a hot take. If some seminal author of high school AUs in any of my fandoms happens to see this, I sure hope they don't take this as a personal affront and delete their fic, because I'm talking about the trope in general and I have not even read their fics because like I said - I don't like this trope! And I happen to think I should be allowed to say that without being criticized for criticizing!

I even, and this is where I'm being controversial, think I should be allowed to go on at great length about why and in what ways I dislike this trope (I think it often destroys adult characters' agency and I also think most high school AUs are wildly OOC). This is not personal towards writers of this trope in my opinion. I do understand why someone might take it personally and/or disagree, and if they do, it's my responsibility to be clear that I'm not saying this to be hurtful but to express my own issues with the trope, but I still think I can say this on my personal blog in my corner of the internet.

So why is it important that I can lay out my issues with high school AUs? Well, because a lot of the time, the criticism of fandom tropes in general that get the kind of "authors are doing this for free how dare you express criticism" response is not innocuous, it's criticism of fandom tropes that further racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia etc. And I don't think it's a coincidence that this particular case, where a fandom trend for this specific fandom was being talked about in general and an author took it personally, is being used to restate and enforce "no criticism in fandom spaces".

Like...no, fanfic authors are not being paid. Yes, this is a labor of love and doesn't deserve to be treated like published work, lacking both the time and attention from an editor. But at the same time, if you put something out there into the world and let people read it, they can think whatever they want about it, and if they think you are hurting people with it, that should be something they can say. One last anecdote to exemplify this point: A few months ago, I clicked on a fic featuring what was, to me, very clearly a situation of dubious if not entirely lacking consent. The fic was not tagged as such at all. I found it pretty upsetting that the fic did not acknowledge the consent situation at all, and left a comment asking for a dubcon tag. In order to do so, I felt like I had to praise a fic that had upset me wildly so the author wouldn't be hurt by me asking for a tag, and afterwards, I was annoyed at myself for basically grovelling in order to get an appropriate tag I could filter for.

Fanfiction is populated by people who love art so much they want to make more of it, they want to think about it and meta and create. Of course fans think about the art created in their own spaces, and of course they have takes about it!

But I think that when we are discussing the role of criticism in fandom spaces, we must crucially differentiate between

Personal, individually-given criticism

Criticism of craft, i.e. solicited, friendly and clear suggestions to improve pacing, dialogue, whatever

Criticism as abuse, i.e. unsolicited and abusive critical commentary

Meta-criticism, i.e. commentary on tagging/fandom norms (which can easily also be abuse

General criticism

Criticism of craft, i.e. criticism of fandom trends like the way anal sex is often written in ways not at all like it's practiced irl

Criticism of norms, i.e. criticism of structural oppression being recreated in popular story beats

Criticism of tropes, i.e. "why I personally don't like high school AUs" (this can blend easily with criticism of norms)

Why is criticism of norms not part of individually-given criticism? Well, because fandom keeps showing over and over that when racism within a fandom is called out, it ends up with the people doing the calling out being harrassed and threatened and the people creating racist content portraying themselves as victims because "you don't criticize fanfiction".

And that's why I think we need to talk about fandom's uncomfortable relationship to criticism.

This is exactly why I barely go on tiktok anymore. when I used to be a diehard fan of kpop artists, shits like this was way more worse. At some point, it started disturbing me to the point I actually never went back on tiktok again. That's how much I hated that app back then. Literally just one or two months ago I opened that app again, thinking I could have a peaceful life in vtubers fandom but oh lord I encountered a hate video.

It was something similar to what you said, but what I saw was a video saying "canceling nijisanji en" and I thought it was a joke or something so I went to the comments section to see what it was about. And the whole comment section was filled with "omg yes" "ugh shifting to nijisanji jp right now" "well at least shu is safe💀" honestly, I was like huh??? seems that they were talking about most of the nijisanji en boys interacting with an artist who was apparently racist (or something else i'm not really sure) but yeah that's the bits of it. [I saw a comment under the specific post saying something like "if this is how yalls attitude is, then don't even think about coming to the jp side" and I was like SLAYY GIRL YOU RIGHT ASF] sorry I'm pretty much gatekeeping niji jp from toxic fans like that who could just hate on their so called "oshi" on a baseless rumour.

I see some accounts saying "this is a troll account. i actually love [insert name] so much🥺" no. If you love them as much as you claim to, then you wouldn't even think about hating on them like that even for a joke. That's just disrespectful.

What do they really get out of this hating behaviour? likes? shares? comments? fame? well if that's what they want then they're really doing it in a wrong fucking way. I didn't know people could be happy getting those achievements from such a nasty way. They have little to none shame. Possibly bringing down someone's career because of their stupid behaviour isn't something to be proud of. Their parents surely wouldn't be proud of it either. when I got into fandom also given what numbers were on ao3 one ship was popular and it was sansan. no like sansan was lit. the only asoiaf ship on ao3 with more than 200 fics. jb had twenty when i checked first. jc had like around 100-ish because of the show but sansan dwarfed anything. I posted the first jon/ygritte fic on the ao3 tag and the fourth throbb fic and like the others were all reposts from lj kinkmemes. nothing was popular before the show except for sansan when it comes to huge numbers bc grrm doesn't like fic and it was all hush hush until the show made it impossible to control and that ship was the one with a huge enough fanbase it actually had numbers, so like... j*nsa wasn't popular in the way nothing else was popular until it got screentime on the show

now, that stated, j*nsa had a... fair amount of fic for a rareship which was mostly book-based and from og shippers that were there from before the show and liked it for what it was but literally none of them thought it was gonna be canon, like it wasn't huge or anything but it had a small but dedicated fanbase who did their own thing and thought it was fun/liked the idea but that was it

that fandom had their own niche of hcs that they cultivated and shit except that like... at the end of S5/beginning of S6 there was a surge in shipping for... well obvious reasons bc it was obv sansa was getting to the wall and that would have been all nice and good but a) it was the time puritanical shipping was starting to take root and the 'shipping sansa with sandor or tyrion is hella problematic' rhetoric had started to circle coming from sans*ery shippers mostly but I'mma not open that fucking can of worms here, b) while the ending of S5 had more of a theon/sansa spike, the j*nsa stuff started getting big

now here we have to mention my villain origin story ie: j*nsa fandom had this one stan whose name I won't make because honestly it's been years and if she's still around I don't want her to remember I exist who was a bnf, wrote for... the website that created the whole larry/carol thing etc who was really fixed on this thing that j*nsa was actually canon and started writing extremely popular meta about it. now you're gonna ask how do you know, I know because this person once wrote a meta named 'why robb stark is a dick' and I told her that it was really fucking bad meta and she took it so badly she kept on trash talking me on her blog/her podcast (I was apparently the insane robb stark fangirl l m a o good lord) and like that was when some sane ppl who argued with her informed me in pvt that she was basically harping on the CANON thing when they'd have been okay with like... it being crackshipping and that she was basically cultivating a hoarde of followers who were harping on them/the ogs and basically ostracizing them;

I would like to add that this person - before her tumblr got 'accidentally deleted' and remade it therefore deleted most receipts for, er, her so-called meta which included stuff like ned and cat raised sansa as a sexual object and only wanted to sell her like cattle - had at some point started a round robin fic thing where... some of the characters mocked openly said stuff that some of the og fans had said specifically targeting them and people in that side basically went harassing anyone who didn't agree with that specific notion

so, first of all, applying to twitter rps is a whole different ball game than tumblr rps. even if tumblr rps are appless, the apps don’t roll in the same way they do with twitter; it’s much easier to be in multiple twitter rps & twitter rps are always dying, so if something’s popping it may get upwards of 20 apps at once. so, my advice here is to have ur completed app ready & copied so that u can paste it in the submit/ask (whatever admins prefer) right when apps are allowed

then u make ur acct ! twitter rpers are more into fun/quirky twitter handles (compared to how tumblr urls are usually just the chars name - very efficient) for example: people love stuff like that is punny (HANOFMYWORD like man of my word ajhs listen im bad at these ones but u get the idea), funny (HANNAHNOMONTANA), or simple (FCKHANNAH)

in terms of headers & icons, people arent rlly as aesthetic when it comes to an account compared to the way some ppl go ham on their tumblr blogs. icons are usually cute/funny selfies and headers tend to be memes. bios i usually keep empty or i’ll post a funny tweet from a celeb (ex. @.50cent: I can’t belive my grand mothers making me take Out the garbage I’m rich fuck this I’m going home I don’t need this shit). locations may be dictated by the rp; some ask members to put certain things such as pronouns, job, or place of residence based on what the rp is abt

if u join before opening, you’ll usually get to vote on a poll for opening. before opening for ic interactions, you will have a small window to plot (abt 1 hr), but dont stress if u spend the whole time getting to know ppl ooc - it happens. in addition, not everyone has complete bios (some ppl dont even know a single thing abt their own char…… which ive been guilty of multiple times akjsdh). lots of people also prefer chem, and may not want to plot at all/only plot simple connections

quirk is pretty big on twit, so dont be surprised to see everyone overusing emojis & tweeting abt random stuff akhd unless there are plot drops or fights, most character development will occur in the dms

tumblr armys deal with fandom shit that we tiwtter armys have alr dealt with 2 years ago 😭😭

i'm sorry but this issue about views and shit is so old, so let me respectfully disagree and give my two cents on the matter. first off a large part of the fandom is relatively new, a lot of armys became fans post 2018, and most of the new ones don't care enough to install vlive since they always get the updates from their respective social media apps, so how do y'all expect eat jin and hope on the street, who are relatively old vlives, to have a lot of views?? (side point, why do u assume the reason those vlives stopped was bc of the fandom and not bc of idk how their fame and recognition sky-rocketed since then and how now they're the biggest group in the world so they might not have the time anymore?)

also let me add that a lot of armys are young adults and therefore prob don't have time to watch all this content. for me personally, most of the times i miss their vlives and their shows bc of the timezone or if i'm busy with college and stuff, so i just go through the twitter threads of the translations and don't watch the content at all or at least at a very later time.

not to mention that a lot of individual vlives, lyric videos on youtube, soundcloud songs etc. are mostly getting streamed like Crazy by solos. that's not really the fandom's fault tbh??

also a very important point i want to make here, Please Curate Your Social Media Content. joon's review vlives? every time joon posts his album review the entire timeline and every single army translator on twitter literally DISSECTS the vlive word for word and then we talk about them for weeks after, and even months later u get the occasional tweet that blows up with likes bringing back how joon said this and this about this song and those lyrics. follow the right ppl, follow the content YOU wanna see and then you will see how appreciated BTS is.

now let's go to the lines issue. this shit is very, Very, VERY old. like older than the views issue i think. the boys have stated time and time again (in fact seokjin also said this recently himself if i remember correctly) that the lines are always arranged among THEMSELVES and it's always about whose voice suits the line/ the melody the most and that's the end of it. if y'all took it upon yourselves to make bts into some damsels in distress, if y'all don't listen to what they say and still believe that they're being forced to sing less, that's not a fandom problem or a company problem, that's a YOU problem. bc obviously at this point, if you still have those opinions in the big year of 2020, my love, it's just you not liking what bts choose do to with their shit. the mistreatment issue could be a thing earlier in they're career but now??? that they pay bh's electricity bills?? that they run the place?? ain't no bts member getting mistreated when ppl are kissing the ground the walk on!

there’s a lot of talk in the fandom about appreciating members equally and showing them love and booing solo stans and that’s beautiful but when hyung line does one (1) thing none of you ever recognize them? 

eat jin went down the drain because it didn’t get views. hoseok doesn’t even do lives anymore because you heathens keep asking about other members when he’s there for you. hope on the street is a legend we can only hear of. namjoon goes live on a frequent basis to talk about the groups creative process and keep you all updated on things and he barely gets views even tho he’s online in able hours for yall to watch. they all lacked on something in the past but they work so hard to keep up with everything and show development. ¾ of hyung line (if not all of them) have been struggling with so much shit and they’re so open about it and no one gives a damn fuck about it unless yoongi says he cried in the shower of pure fear and then yall are ‘oh……………..hes got feelings’

then, after spending months, years not showing them enough appreciation and not showing the company you all love them equally, when they don’t get lines or screen time, y’all go wild but honestly? how do you expect members to get equal opportunities when y’all take “biasing” so fucking serious and can’t even give some appreciation to them? i know some of y’all are here only for abs and sinning and shipping but can’t you understand your actions have consequences and some things are heavily based on it
