Nerdy Prudes Must Die: A Killer New Musical is the latest release on YouTube from Team Starkid (who we like) and their latest project in Hatchetfield (which we like individually but less so collectively). 20 minutes in and I had a feeling that no matter how much I did or didn’t enjoy this that this show’s going to have some real legs, mark my words. Part Heathers part Freddy part I Know What You Did Last Summer. As usual the best part of this show has almost nothing to do with anything, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

i saw npmd live back in february and the power went out (for the second time) right as Best of You ended and we all thought that was the end and went batshit crazy

but then they came on stage and were like yeah that wasn’t the end there’s still one more scene. but getting the power back on will take too long so you guys get the good ending. you’ll have to wait until the release. congrats.

So 'Just For Once' is supposed to be a metaphor for Ruth's motivations and personality, right? Like, the lyrics generally being about wanting attention and love from other people when she normally gets ignored or passed over, and how her anxiety prevented her from doing things she wants to do (like theatre)? I haven't seen this interpretation talked about anywhere but I thought that made Just For Once really work tbh
