Okay, BECAUSE I have no doubtlessly failed all of you for my timing (and overall content), you get a Nicky sketch WITH the HCs I’ve cracked up for him.

For the record, we have like three songs of him (and potentially a movie AHEM AHEM RARE AMERICANS PLEASE DROP) so most likely all of this will be out of character one way or another.

But anyway~~ let’s get to it because augh (also apologies if this is out of order— I’m retconning some stuff from the second song so it could make sense)

BRITTLE BONES NICKY HEADCANONS!

As touché as it is, I’ve been HCing his name to be “Nick Clavice” for the longest time. Someone theorized his name to have an “o” but… eh.

The man has daddy and trust issues. No doubt about it. Due to this, he hesitates to create relationships with people. This is extended due to not only his upbringings, but also just how everyone he’s been with has treated him. Especially with Karla in BBN3, I feel like he only wants to look out for himself just in case he gets hurt again.

When he DOES feel close to someone, he doesn’t hesitate to go out of his way to protect them. It really goes into his nature since most of the people’s he’s loved have been taken away

He’s there to fuck around. Lessons from the orphanage taught him (namely Shifty honestly) that, of course, he shouldn’t be pushed around. There isn’t much time to sulk. Gotta live life the way he wants to.

Obviously ^^ this becomes repressed. It’s pretty much the way he’s coping with all the bullshit in his life.

Risky and stupid. Again, he’s here to fuck around. You could ask him to bungee jump an elevator shaft with a single piece of floss and he’d do it. Of course, this dude has like nine lives.

Speaking of which— besides the whole magic shtick, this dude can parkour for SURE. Not to mention skateboard (he can bike too but BOOORING). I mean, how else could he escape the cops? He likes to connect with his inner child— hence a magician…(?)

He’s gotta be notorious in the police department. Obviously, he’s not doing anything too malicious. He’s just annoying in the community. He’s definitely been caught up in the loudest noise complaints as well as the standard drug user stuff.

Despite living in a shitty run-down apartment, this dude can COOK. Weirdly one of his best traits. Was probably taught by his mom.

When he’s drunk, he’s either really zoned out or loud.

Sesame allergy…(?) I don’t know.

Easily a rock or punk music listener. He’s a delinquent! It’s in his nature.

C’era una volta una locomotiva. Aveva paura di lasciar andare. Non le piaceva lo stridore dei binari, né il rombo sordo delle gallerie. Pensava che allungare il convoglio, agganciando via via alle sue spalle i vagoni preferiti incontrati nel cammino, l’avrebbe mantenuta stabile e sicura.

Un giorno, però, uno dei vagoni si ribellò. Emanò un fischio improvviso, gridando: “io non voglio essere solo un vagone, io sono una motrice!”.

La locomotiva, sgomenta, cominciò a sentirsi ballonzolare a destra e sinistra e si rese conto che il vagone s’era messo d’impegno per sganciarsi, esponendo l’intera carovana alla possibilità di deragliare.

“Come è possibile? - gridò - ti ho portato con me per tutto questo tempo, facendomi carico del tuo peso, senza dire nulla! Cosa ho fatto di sbagliato?”

“Non ti sei accorta che il tuo compito, come il nostro, è quello di guardare avanti, e non ti sei accorta che, avendoci alle tue spalle, non hai potuto capire chi volesse restare e chi, invece, aveva altri progetti.”

“Ma se ci separiamo sarà una catastrofe! Se una cosa finisce è morta.”

“Ti sbagli, la catastrofe è di chi rallenta il suo percorso verso l’unica direzione possibile: il domani” e, dicendo così, assestò un colpo più forte, staccandosi dal convoglio e lanciandole un fragoroso bacio.

“Ti voglio bene” disse, mentre innescava i motori pronto a imboccare il prossimo scambio.

La locomotiva era attonita, ma non poté fare a meno di notare che era più leggera e poteva articolare meglio i movimenti. Le curve erano fluide, il cigolio meno invadente. Stava andando più veloce.

Rimase sospesa dentro se stessa per qualche minuto. Pensò a chi avrebbe davvero voluto con sé. Il convoglio procedeva per inerzia, con la velocità accumulata dopo la separazione, poi, a un tratto, senza pensarci e con il cuore che le batteva all’impazzata, la locomotiva tirò la leva che l’avrebbe sganciata anche da tutti gli altri vagoni ed esclamò: “io sono libera e voi siete liberi. Non siamo vagoni, siamo motrici. E a volte siamo stazioni, altre destinazioni.”

La carovana cominciò a sfaldarsi con un gran fragore che sapeva, però, di un inizio. Era simile a un Big Bang ferroviario.

Non potendosi voltare, la locomotiva accettò di non sapere con certezza quali vagoni l’avrebbero seguita verso una meta comune; ma andava bene così. Urlò un fortissimo “grazie!” in direzione del vagoncino ribelle, che ormai procedeva spedito, verso Ovest.

Quel binario era suo e suo soltanto, ora. E non era la fine.

Random notes: Her name might be revealed in the book but honestly I dunno, maybe not. Her apron is also constantly covered with flour as she specializes in baking. The magic she has is almost entirely fire related, and while it could be used for destruction, it's mostly used to make sure no food gets burnt
