I worder what happened if Team Star Squad Bosses, E4 (both Paldea and Kitakami), Gym Leaders and the teachers were going to be like if they got affected by the Toxic Chains?

I probably won't be able to think of an answer for all of them, but I have ideas for some!

Team Star:

The bosses would became Penny's """friends"""" with them having the opposite of their personalities. Eri would become too hotheaded, and would start conflicts rather than solving them, Giacomo would be extremely strict, Atticus would be more into modern day ideas than old-fashioned, Ortega would be more shy and a complete doormat, and Mela would be easily distracted rather than focused on solving issues. And all they all would flock and support Penny and never abandon them! They're the leader!

Paldea Elite Four:

They're the more quiet versions, acting like the best employees the old Geeta would've wanted! All of their previous personality is stripped away, with them being silent and have no complaints whatsoever. What matters is that they're silent and pretty, like flowers!

BBA Elite Four:

Similar to Team Star, they act as the opposite. Drayton is more active and mobile, Crispin is cooled down and mellowed out, Amarys is more talkative and outgoing, and Lacey is more passive and scatterbrained

Gym Leaders and Teachers:

They're similar to the Paldea Elite Four, with them being silent servants for Pechakeen and the new Loyal Three. They're super agreeable and on board with whatever Geeta says.

I'd imagine for them (kinda like how the town was possessed in mochi mayhem) they would either be silent or act the opposite of themselves (except for the Paldea trio; they act like the worst versions of themselves)

So in Japanese media at least, the eye shapes of animated characters collectively have distinct names and meanings, which reflect on the character's outward bearing (if they're intended to be cute, cool, etc) and the character's own personality. I was looking at the art + models of BBA's Elite Four, and noticed that the same design philosophies overall apply to them.

(All of this information regarding eye shapes I'm referring to is copy-pasted from a user on twitter who claims to be Japanese-American and has read a lot of Japanese fiction in the language. So, the info is fairly trustworthy methinks.)

切れ長 (kirenaga), lit. “cut long.” Kirenaga eyes are long and thin, but they can be either monolids or double eyelids. Kirenaga eyes are often considered aloof or sexy (as opposed to cute). Kirenaga are also associated with traditional eastern beauty in Japan.

Kirenaga seems to be what Drayton has. He definitely comes off as aloof on the surface, mellow to the point he maintains a sense of detachment to what goes on around him. Wouldn't surprise me if Drayton's character designer intended for him to come off as attractive too.

丸目or まんまる目 (marume or manmarume), lit. “round eyes.” Marume are the opposite of Kirenaga eyes. As the name suggests, they’re big and round. Marume are considered cute and childlike.

This for sure applies to Crispin. He comes off as the youngest in the E4 (I'm pretty sure his model is the shortest of them), plus he has a very boisterous and outgoing personality. Furthermore, his personality is almost the complete opposite to Drayton's, which feeds into their eye shapes being opposites. Pretty neat detail!

三白眼 (sanpakugan), lit. “eye with 3 whites.” This is when the iris is small enough that some of the white of the eye is visible above or below the iris. This means the white is visible on 3 sides of the iris instead of 2. Sanpakugan is often considered intimidating or intense.

Amarys' eye shapes is interesting. The closest does seem to be sanpakugan; it makes sense because of her mature and stoic personality. Funnily enough, you could make the argument that marume is blended in for her as well, and it still works? Because in-game, Amarys gives off some hints that her character is more innocent than she seems. Being confused by her feelings towards Kieran, and just assuming Miraidon / Koraidon is an "Agias" and not questioning it, are big implications imo.

たれ目 (tareme), lit. “droopy eyes.” Tareme are when the outer corner of the eye “droops” down and is lower than the inner corner of the eye. Tareme are often considered cute or gentle.

Lacey's eye shapes go with this one the most by far. The concept of "cuteness" is one of her character's driving forces, so of course her appearance is going to have cutesy traits. The difference she has with Crispin though is that she does have more of a gentle nature compared to his brashness, so that's where the softer element comes into play.

I'm sure these eye types are flexible and no single artist rigidly sticks to them, they're like templates more than anything else, so it's cool to see how they can be represented in a character's design!

Kieran takes a deep breath, walking to his position on the battlefield. He idly bounces one of his PokeBalls, watching Juliana move to hers, feeling his heart race. He absolutely couldn't afford to make mistakes here. He had everything on the line, after all.

"Kept me waiting." He starts, his voice cold, not making eye contact with her, tightening his hold on the PokeBall in his hand.

"I worked so hard for a chance to show you what I can really do, Juliana. I put everything into studying and making my Pokemon stronger... I crushed the Elite Four and became Champion..."

It closes its eyes for a moment, turning its eyes to the ball, adjusting its grip on it as he holds it out to her, trying not to pay any mind to the crowd beginning to gather.

"All of that hard work... All of it..." He finally looks up, his stare intense and determined as he points at Juliana.

"All of it was just so that I could beat you—right here, right now!"

It grits its teeth, hands shaking from how hard it's gripping its Pokeballs, and it can't help but scream before tossing them, letting out its first two Pokemon: Grimmsnarl and Incineroar.

Blueberry Academy Annual Summer Camp

Every late summer here at BBA, when most students are approaching the end of their break, we hold an event to offer anyone who might've struggled last year with grades a chance to catch up and prepare for the upcoming new year, or newbies that are seeking to get a head start. It's also a good opportunity for any parents considering BBA for their child!

This camp began as a student-lead idea to help their friends who were struggling to keep up, and in the last few years has become a BBA tradition. Along with tutoring, we also realize attending requires most students to stay in dorm rooms for the duration of the camp- so we also offer fun activities and games in between lessons! These activities can range anywhere from arts and crafts, general hangouts, nature walks or hikes to different parts of the Terarium, or even battling!

You aren't required to show up to any specific lesson- whatever works with your schedule, and whatever subject you need help studying for! Most of our tutoring sessions are held in groups, but we also provide private individual lessons for anyone who think their kids would benefit more from that. Our sessions our typically held by volunteers, teachers, and even some students!

The event organizers this year is our newest champion of the BBL and Naranja Academy exchange student, Florence Ramirez, and our Steel-type BBL Elite Four Member, Amarys Martin. If you have any questions, direct them to Florence at @scarlet-rider!

Week 1 Activities

Day 1- Introduction to the Terarium: This one was made specifically for new students, but anyone is allowed to attend! Director Cyrano and Florence will be providing a personal tour of the Terarium and its various different biomes.

Day 2- Group Training: Are you a trainer seeking to challenge the BBL this year? Our Battle Studies instructor Blake and a few of our League Club members themselves will be holding a series of training sessions for you and your Pokemon to hone their skills!

Day 3- Paper flowers: We try to have a different arts and crafts activity held by the Art Club for every week of the camp. This time, we'll be learning how to make paper flower displays!

Day 4- Lunch and Get Together: Just a small meet up we'll be holding in the Central Plaza to recap how our first week of camp has gone! A good opportunity to make some friends and get to know some of our instructors. We might also have some exhibition battles between BBL Elite Four members to enjoy!

Day 5- Polar Biome Hike: We'll be hiking to the peak of the Polar Biome's Mountain! Pack a lot of cold weather and camping gear for the journey.

Day 6- Karaoke Night: A laidback karaoke event that'll be held by the Music Club!

We'll be revealing Week 2 and Week 3 events later on into the camp! We'll provide more details for each event and tutoring session via handout pamphlets that all attendees will receive, such as times, what to expect, and what you'll be recommended to bring.

The camp will run for a duration of three weeks from July 25th to August 15th. We hope to see you there!

it won't be anything too complex- you can just make posts about your character attending a tutoring session or one of the events listed above. you can even have them interact with N, Blake or Florence if ya want! Florence will be making an announcement post for each event on her blog.

Hello hello! It's Robby, mod of @paldean-ranger-brandy and others. I adore Amarys, and her personality is pretty much the exact personality I assigned to my main character while playing through the game (right down to the colour scheme!)

Exchange Student Steamrolls Most of Blueberry Academy League Club

Recently, Paldean champion-ranked trainer and student of Naranja-Uva Academy, @juliandpon, was invited to Blueberry Academy as an exchange student, and admitted into their League Club.

The Blueberry Academy League ranking system is explained by BBA Elite Four member @elite-amarys here. In summary, it takes many battles to be able to obtain Challenger Rank, upon which you can challenge the Elite Four. Juliana obtained this rank in less than two weeks.

Juliana has defeated three of the Elite Four so far, with the only members left in her path to becoming Champion being @bb-drayster, the final BBA Elite Four, and @not-gonna-lose, the current BBA League Club Champion.

part of his decision was in fact to punish himself, the other part was basically to use it as some sort of exposure therapy. he eased himself into it by occasionally going into polar to find a duraludon when he first arrived at bba, so it was easier for him to host all his elite four stuff there. he’s fine. i promise. :3]

they are basically kids (except drayton) and are tough bc two of them are related to gym leaders and bba is already competitive battle studies

they almost remind me of my old friend group lol

The Dragonsbone Academy, like the BBA has it's own Junior League supported by the region's actual League. The differences is that it has a full set of eight Junior Gym Leaders scattered about the Campus, all type specialized.

The Elite Four and Junior League Champion is notably more well known, though. They tend to become incredibly high level battlers - upper 5 gym leader, more likely to get offered a elite Four position, a few even end up becoming Champion in other far off regions - It is quite known that one of the Andiiles and Sisciile's current Elite Four members - Charlotte Bergerlund - was a Junior League Champion during a brief term as a Exchange student before returning home and becoming Denmark's League Champion for a whole three years before quitting for her current position.

It's also produced ten other regional Champions in recent history - Three Kalos Champions, Two Unova Champions, a Sinnoh Champion, and one champion each for Ireland, Russia, Egypt, Turkey, and South Korea.

The current Junior League and Elite Four run as such;

Kasane Omoda (おもだ かさね)

Tiny little scrap of a thirteen year old girl who's been seen to brawl with her Machamp and win. Specializes in Fighting types. Very fiery and energetic, can't sit still in most classes. Has expressed a strong desire to return to Johto to take the gym challenge and "Beat Lance's team into the dust where he belongs".

Rhys Castell

A shy boy who specialises in Steel types. Has a very well trained Corviknight who seems to be his Ace - a Falinks he's names Sockembopem. Seems to be genuinely terrified of most Pokémon that aren't on his team, and is currently in therapy for a anxiety disorder. Is doing much better than he used to - he can battle now - and he's frighteningly efficient when he locks in

Has aspirations to become the Galar Champion.

Enoch Ace

Born into a illegitimate branch of the Ace "Dynasty", Enoch specialized in Dragon types- like near enough everyone in his branch. Is rumoured to have the same condition that gives the Unova Champion - and Ex-Andiiles and Sisciile champion their prodigal talents with dangerous/difficult Pokémon- and is weeks from a official HED diagnosis. Is noted for his dislike of people of the legitimate Ace bloodline. Seems to be developing Imposter Syndrome.

Isana Brennan

Current Eighth gym leader in Nubibus town, and widely accepted to be a very formidable battler despite her lifelong health issues often preventing her from participating in battles/regular school life due to frequent hospital visits. In the care of her auntie Shelagh whilst she studies far away from her home region, as thirteen is definitely far too young to be away from family for extended periods of time

Specialises in fairy types - but her Junior League Elite Four team is noted to include both a Bewear and a Metagross for what she claims is "the monstrous beast tax"

Junior League Champion; Mia Fitzroy

Mia Fitzroy is ... Also a young gym leader, being about fifteen - and is legally blind (retains limited central vision in both eyes) . Is noted to specialise in Water Types normally - but her Junior League Champion team is marginally more balanced despite still favouring water types.

Has shredded literally every battlefield she's ever used, some to the point of needing to be rebuilt wholly.

Uhhh.... Well. I don't really have any advice for her other than studying her team...?

I have all of the badges from Sinnoh, but I never did the elite four there or anything. Though, if it helps, I got my champion position at BBA because I studied everyone's teams very closely!! Granted. It's not an OFFICIAL league. But those kids are a lot tougher than some actual leagues so it counts.
