Iris prefers to communicate in Andiile over .... literally every other language she knows. Remembering how Galarian works as a language is hard and she doesn't want to be doing that all the time.

She speaks both Northern Andiile (Latin) and South Andiile (Esperanto). Northern Andiile is more formal, the sort of stuff spoken by people of a higher "social status", and is used in official documents and anything that warrants speaking formally. South Andiile is your casual day to day stuff. Iris can figure out whole new horrific insults to call people in this.

so here's the map from this post that shows where the Andiiles and Sisciile are geographically;

The largest landmass is the Andiiles and Sisciile - formerly two separate countries that fused into one in the late nineties. The smaller landmass is Medinah, a common stopover between Unova and the Andiiles and Sisciile.

Not quite sure what continent this is on, but lets just say iris is European until I remember what i learned in year 9 geography.

Rough approximations of the Andiiles and Sisciile League, in order, part one; Gym Leaders.

1. Anouk Kroon - Psychic Specialist, Kolekto Town. Primary school teacher, former Netherlands Champion. Was initially ranked higher, but voluntarily took a lower rank.

2. Ruoxian Bai, Grass specialist, Feramagros town. Well respected poet and social media sensation. Popular cooking streamer

3. Aneko Nakamura, Ice specialist, Rifuĝo town. Fell out of a rift in the sky into the local lake around a year ago, Claims to be from Hisui. Is from Hisui. Is having a very hard time adapting.

4. Seunghwi Kwon (grey hair) and Winifred Llewellyn, Fighting specialists. Wellswood City, Laura's Diner. Managers of a incredibly popular restaurant, as well as being Gym Leaders. Laura's Diner is known for having a bit of a issue with fights breaking out in and around the restaurant. There's video footage online of Seunghwi catching a chair that was thrown at her, and at least three stories of that one time Winifred quite literally threw a grown adult across the restaurant singlehandedly. Neither will confirm this.

5. Mia Fitzroy, third youngest league member being about fifteen - and is legally blind (retains limited central vision in both eyes). Junior League Champion, aspiring paralympic athlete.

6. Estelle Polaire, Steel Specialist. Holdout City. World renowned supermodel, known for her otherworldly beauty. Has the Champion rank in Kalos.

7. Jocelyn Ace, Dragon Specialist, Dragonsbone City. Former Andiiles and Sisciile League Champion, Ace family Matriarch, and headmistress of the Dragonsbone Academy. Objectively terrifying, but has a soft side, allegedly.

8. Isana Brennan, Fairy specialist, Nubibus Town. Aspiring Andiiles and Sisciile league Champion, Junior League Elite Four member. Chronically ill, and frequently struggles to attend school or battle due to her assorted health issues. Incredibly good baker.

The Dragonsbone Academy, like the BBA has it's own Junior League supported by the region's actual League. The differences is that it has a full set of eight Junior Gym Leaders scattered about the Campus, all type specialized.

The Elite Four and Junior League Champion is notably more well known, though. They tend to become incredibly high level battlers - upper 5 gym leader, more likely to get offered a elite Four position, a few even end up becoming Champion in other far off regions - It is quite known that one of the Andiiles and Sisciile's current Elite Four members - Charlotte Bergerlund - was a Junior League Champion during a brief term as a Exchange student before returning home and becoming Denmark's League Champion for a whole three years before quitting for her current position.

It's also produced ten other regional Champions in recent history - Three Kalos Champions, Two Unova Champions, a Sinnoh Champion, and one champion each for Ireland, Russia, Egypt, Turkey, and South Korea.

The current Junior League and Elite Four run as such;

Kasane Omoda (おもだ かさね)

Tiny little scrap of a thirteen year old girl who's been seen to brawl with her Machamp and win. Specializes in Fighting types. Very fiery and energetic, can't sit still in most classes. Has expressed a strong desire to return to Johto to take the gym challenge and "Beat Lance's team into the dust where he belongs".

Rhys Castell

A shy boy who specialises in Steel types. Has a very well trained Corviknight who seems to be his Ace - a Falinks he's names Sockembopem. Seems to be genuinely terrified of most Pokémon that aren't on his team, and is currently in therapy for a anxiety disorder. Is doing much better than he used to - he can battle now - and he's frighteningly efficient when he locks in

Has aspirations to become the Galar Champion.

Enoch Ace

Born into a illegitimate branch of the Ace "Dynasty", Enoch specialized in Dragon types- like near enough everyone in his branch. Is rumoured to have the same condition that gives the Unova Champion - and Ex-Andiiles and Sisciile champion their prodigal talents with dangerous/difficult Pokémon- and is weeks from a official HED diagnosis. Is noted for his dislike of people of the legitimate Ace bloodline. Seems to be developing Imposter Syndrome.

Isana Brennan

Current Eighth gym leader in Nubibus town, and widely accepted to be a very formidable battler despite her lifelong health issues often preventing her from participating in battles/regular school life due to frequent hospital visits. In the care of her auntie Shelagh whilst she studies far away from her home region, as thirteen is definitely far too young to be away from family for extended periods of time

Specialises in fairy types - but her Junior League Elite Four team is noted to include both a Bewear and a Metagross for what she claims is "the monstrous beast tax"

Junior League Champion; Mia Fitzroy

Mia Fitzroy is ... Also a young gym leader, being about fifteen - and is legally blind (retains limited central vision in both eyes) . Is noted to specialise in Water Types normally - but her Junior League Champion team is marginally more balanced despite still favouring water types.

Has shredded literally every battlefield she's ever used, some to the point of needing to be rebuilt wholly.

Profile: Holdout City

Holdout City is the capital City of the Andiiles and Sisciile, and by far the largest city in the region, having a population numbering roughly 9,748,033 people. Holdout City is considered to be the fashion captital of the region, and has several garment districts, and a frighteningly high concentration of high end fashion stores. They also host Fashion week on a yearly basis, which turns the city into absolute nightmare to navigate quickly.

Holdout City is home to the sixth gym, led by Estelle, one of the region's most successful supermodels to date. She specializes in steel types, and is known for her Ace Pokémon, Bronzong. Estelle is known to be very close friends with the elite four member Delphi, both hailing from the same parts of Anistar City, Kalos.

Iris lets herself into the Andiiles and Sisciile league building with her own ID, and wanders up to the battlefields, and she lets her mind wander. She's not been here in about two years, does she still know the Elite Four? The staff here? Well, she knows Delphi, Charlotte Bergerlund, Kaguya, but she's not too sure about the other one ... Cassius? She's fairly sure he's new...

She really needs to come home more often. Iris sighs as she steps into the observation box that overlooks the Championship battle field, and nods to the official observant. She doesn't quite remember why they still show up.

Iris tries to watch with detached indifference as usual, but she finds herself getting invested. Especially so when her sister's Archaludon falls, and the rain subsides. Her sister has lost her title, and her stomach drops.

Back home in the Andiiles and Sisciile, roughly five hundred years ago the Ace's used to be the ruling family, a female preference absolute monarchy, favouring those born with red eyes for their "supposed" empathetic abilities. The family developed a chokehold on information on Dragon types, lasting until they were forced down to a constitutional monarchy about two hundred years ago, and then exactly one hundred years ago, the monarchy was completely removed.

However, within the Andiiles and Sisciile the Ace family still somehow holds both social and political power, to the point of being considered monarchs still by some (It is undecided whether they consider Jocelyn Queen, or pass over her in favour of Eldest daughter Athena for her red eyes). As such, among royalists - and some non royalists, Iris is commonly referred to as the Princess, as if her family were still monarchs she would be second in line - despite her four elder brothers.

This is why Iris has access to her small suite of jewellery, consisting of two tiaras, one coronet, and a few sets of necklaces and earrings. It's also the reason she's quite glad to be in Unova.

Jocelyn is Iris's biological mother, and the seventh gym leader and ex- Acting Champion of the Andiiles and Sisciile league, known to be the matriarch of the Ace socialite family- and fallen royal bloodline.

What were the Ace family up to 250+ years ago? Habsburg type inbreeding, and a touch of blood magic, as most royal families do.

Naturally they had severe issues with health and infant mortality; the bloodline nearly died out six times before they started outbreeding really intensively for a good long while, which is why they look normal nowadays, except for a scarily high concentration of people being born with HESD, and a proclivity towards purple hair and grey eyes.

Iris calls herself "Arceus's favourite genetic disaster" on some social media platforms.

You will notice that people with HESD tend to be unusually predisposed to concussions, amongst other varying levels of brain damage, entirely due to the fact that the brain is larger than normal in places, and there's less room in the skull cavity.

Iris has technically been concussed far too many times, and was at some point after the events of B1/W1 slightly brain-damaged from a Plasma grunt hitting her across the head with a brick. She's just got a very thick skull, and heals pretty damn well.

Realistically, there's not much she could have done to stop this - but it's all coming to her now. She should have put her own person in the Elite Four position. Could have talked her sister out of quitting- But she supposes there's nothing she could have done to stop Isana rising to power. Iris can only hope that Isana isn't going to let her mother - the new Champion Regent, by rule of seniority, and the more recent option for Regent being actively retired now- use her as a puppet Champion, as she's sure her mother intends to give the girl no real input in her position...

Iris pauses once more... She has her hands in the Andiiles and Sisciile League, she supposes she could get a line of contact open with the new Girl Champion.

liveblogging the last stretch of the Andiiles and Sisciile League Season, specifically for the title challenge between Miss Isana Brennan @.faetouched and Miss Elizabeth Fitzroy @.aegislashed.

Iris flips through to the Andiilan end of the TV channels, and catches the news.

"And a change in leadership is coming - Ace Athena of the Elite Four has stepped down to pursue other ventures, and stepping up to fill her shoes is Ace Jocelyn, our former Champion of over twenty years, eighth leader of five years, and current Dragonsbone City Seventh Leader. She has stated that she will not be quitting her position as a Gym Leader, and asserts her ample competence-"

Iris saw this coming. She knows what her mother is trying. She takes one long drink of soda, and settles into the couch.

"-however, some find issue with the level of power the Ace family are coming to hold within the country -" She flips to the next channel.

"Up next! The Fae-touched girl, Brennan Isana VS The once and Future Champion, Fitzroy Elizabeth. The title is on the line, so keep your eyes and ears on this spot!"

absolutely stoked to see some fresh new talent coming up through the Andiiles and Sisciile League. i'm paying particular attention to Miss Isana Brennan @.faetouched from Nubibus town. I think she's going to go really far!

Iris hits post without spell checking, and deflates into her chair.

She knows exactly what her mother is doing, throwing her sponsorship behind a thirteen year old girl with eyes on the acting champion title. Her mother has barely any influence over Elizabeth, and probably never will have much...

She could sense it clear as day the last time she saw her mother interacting with the young girl - that searching sense of assessment... And further down, among years of tangled resentment and other stuff she didn't want to look at, hunger.

A deep-seated, burning, hunger for power. The thought crosses her mind - Iris qualifies, she could go up there and take the title herself - and then it passes.

Iris stoops, and plucks a cherry tomato from the vine. There's always been something special about freshly picked tomatoes. She could eat them like popcorn, she muses, popping one into her mouth and chewing.

"If we need help we will ask Unova."

Jocelyn passes Iris a third tomato from her basket, and keeps working her way down the row. Iris is due to leave tomorrow - but she's still uneasy. She knows there's trouble brewing here, but she's been away from her post too long.

"Of course. I'll visit, though. Regularly."

Jocelyn would like to think she knows exactly what goes on in her city - she has eyes and ears all over the place, after all. Reporting back to her, naturally.

So she's pleasantly surprised when the little blue and black insignia turns out to link directly to a twice felled Unovan Team- Neo-Plasma, apparently. That means that she can safely assume there's a cell tucked away somewhere in the country - or worse yet, multiple. She really should alert the Champion to this - but she's got no reason to trust that girl yet.

She'll do her own digging, then. She doesn't need to bother Iris with this.
