Lip sync battles

One of my favorite flavors of fanon is that being high-functioning battle strategists and soldiers, the clone troopers would get bored during longer hyperspace treks very easily. To combat this they come up with all kinds of trouble to entertain themselves during these trips, none more so than the infamous 501st battalion.

After one too many explosions in the mess hall and one too many glitter bombs in the officers' quarters, Ahsoka suggests a new form of entertainment in the form of Lip Sync battles. The troopers are intrigued with the idea and after watching a few on the holonet, they were all on board.

Rex was just happy for the peace and quiet that the ship experienced for the next week as they made their way to their next campaign.

The first battle occurred between Jesse, performing Finesse by Bruno Mars, and Fives, executing Don't Stop Me Now by Queen. The troopers gathered in one of the empty storage hangers and the stage was set, each had about 5 backup dancers, the best costumes they could create with limited resources, speakers, sets, the whole works. Ahsoka and Hardcase acted as the announcers (think a mix between over-excited soccer announcers and the two announcers from Pitch Perfect) and the battalion would judge when it was over.

After the first battle, troopers were signing up to do their own battles and soon there was a steady stream of battles on hyperspace trips. Judging was soon taken over by Rex and Anakin when it became clear certain troopers were bribing others. All the battles were recorded and began to be posted on the social media account Ahsoka had made for the battalion. The videos were immediately a hit and people all over the galaxy loved seeing the troopers outside of propaganda and seeing them as real people.

Other battalions began to take up the tradition and soon there were videos of trooper lip-sync battles everywhere. The ones in the 501st continued to get more elaborate, each stop on leave brought new costumes, sets, props, etc. When Hardcase would be challenged to a battle, Tup would take his place with Ahsoka and he had so much fun that soon it was the three of them announcing.

Eventually, Fives felt cocky enough to challenge Ahsoka to a lip sync battle. The whole battalion was even more excited about this performance because they had yet to see any Jedi participate. The fateful day came and Fives came out strong with a performance of Wrecking Ball by Miley Cirus. Where the wrecking ball he swung on while shirtless came from, no one knows. It was definitely one of the best performances they'd seen, the choreography and set were definitely next level and everyone eagerly waits to see if their little commander will be able to top Fives' performance.

Everyone knew that Ahsoka could be competitive when needed, especially against certain members of Torrent, but they had underestimated her dedication. (Think Beyoncé's 2018 Coachella entrance) Ahsoka delivers a stunning performance starting with Welcome and Crazy in Love by Beyoncé. Anakin and Rex don't even need to vote, it was a knockout and went down in 501st history.

The time comes that Cody and Rex are both pulled into doing a lip sync battle. Their normally composed commanding officers are suddenly transformed into the rival sibling terrors that Alpha-17 still dreams about. No one sees Rex without his helmet for weeks and Cody is hardly seen outside of the designated practice rooms.

Finally, the day came. The 212th and 501st gathered on the Resolute to watch the showdown of the century.

Cody presents a jaw-dropping, show-stopping performance of Umbrella by Rihanna (Tom Holland's battle). There is water dropping from the ceiling, he sporting black fishnets on his legs, and all those years of acrobatic training and spin-kicking droids come into play with this performance. Ahsoka, Hardcase, and Tup are raving and the 501st is suddenly very nervous for their own captain to perform, this was their reputation as a battalion on the line after all.

Rex emerges from the fog (smoke machines) riding a makeshift bantha, wearing a skimpy black top, black skirt, black boa vest, and curly long blond hair blowing in the wind. All the weeks with his helmet on had been spent growing his hair out for this performance and it looks amazing. He performs Run the World (Girls) by Beyoncé and ends the battle with him and all his backup dancers bowing to Ahsoka, the only girl on board.

No one can decide who's performance was better so it comes to a draw.

Egg Salad Sandwich Review 4/14/22: Eataly Technically speaking this is not an egg salad sandwich. It is a tuna sandwich, but it’s made the traditional Italian way with a layer of sliced hardboiled eggs over the tuna mixture.  I did not think this would become my lunchtime go-to but it’s easy to get (Eataly has a good grab-and-go station) and, let’s face it, Eataly has very good food throughout. It’s yummy. Mario Battali may be a pig but I��ve never had a bad meal at one of his restaurants.  This sandwich features all natural ingredients and is made on Eataly’s own “rustic” bread, which is addictive. Depending on the time of the sandwich’s assemblage, the bread might be a little dried out, but that gives it a little more “tooth” and it loses none of the flavor.  For the purposes of this review, i decided to actually investigate the ingredients of the sandwich. According to the packaging, the bread is made from “flour, eggs, yeast, sugar, salt, butter” and the rest of the sandwich includes Callipo tuna, egg, mayonnaise, olive oil, lemon juice, shallot, capers, parsley, oregano and garlic”. As you can see, the main binding ingredient seems to be a healthy layer of mayonnaise. I’m not sure if Eataly makes their own mayo or uses some kind of Italian import, but it’s very good. The capers, parsley, etc are used in great moderation with the tuna flavor predominating. Callipo Tuna is an Italian brand of canned tune and according to google it’s canned (or jarred) in Calabria, so you may detect a trace of Mediterranean sunshine there.  I would prefer with this a layer of lettuce but that is not how Italians make sandwiches traditionally.  While not strictly within the outlines of this survey, Eataly’s tuna sandwich provides enough egg content for it to slip over the line - plus it’s just a darned good sandwich.  Pros: tastes very good, fancy imported ingredients.  Cons: A bit pricey at just under $10; although essentially made from scratch, it is not a diet food due to the generous portion of mayonnaise.

HOW DOES HE CARRY THAT AROUND LIKE NOTHING, THAT BAG HAS TO BE ATLEAST 800LBS. -joined the army at 21, and was eventually given the nickname “mouse ka-boom” because he has an explosives fetish -he is OBSESSED with ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that has the potential to blow up. he doesn't have a reason why he loves bombs so much as his weapon of choice, he just likes watching pretty things go boom! canons are up there too. anything that doesn’t result in Discreet destruction is fair game -yes. yes he does smoke cigarettes. -he’s so tiny. like, 4′9′’ tiny. he’s SO tiny -loves his friends so much relationships --------------- -he cares very deeply for flippy and sneaky. they were his first best friends! ships ------- haha. oh. :) -when I was a wee little baby girl and was first entranced with happy tree friends, I shipped my first pairing. ever. mouse ka-boom x tiger general. to this day, i ship this completely unironically and enemies to lovers is a really fun trope. the idea of this tiny mouse and this giant kitten warming up to each other late-post war makes me melt

As a huge foodie and traveller, i give places the benefit of the doubt overlooking ratings, but re occurring I think it's time to move on! If you are ever out in LA please visit Mario Battali's restaurant called Mozza for the best buratta you've ever had in your life! If you are in Las Vegas please try Giada's (DeLaurentiis) restaurant for the best pizza and secondi's of your life!! As for Toronto, Sotto Sotto is good, but in Drake's words i'm just saying you could do better. Sotto sotto, now in my eyes, is overrated and there are many different places to spend you money at both locally and domestically. I think on my fifth visit I was with a business partner and we were seated first, two couples walked in probably friends of the server soon after, and we were completely overlooked and served very last. Second meal the service was horrible as I was with a couple of girlfriends in our mid twenties and we weren't taken seriously! Started from the hostess not seating us 20 minutes after our reservation, which we respectfully made a week in advance. First meal was great as mentioned with my boyfriend. Spending hundreds of dollars, and after many visites I can say I am never going back. First time I went there I was so excited! My first meal was a great experience as I was with my boyfriend, from then on in, trip after trip, my experiences diminished, as I was with different company.

Day 3: Take stock of your kitchen inventory Before you shop for more food, take a quick inventory of what you already have on hand. - Vegetables - Fruit - Protein - Dairy - Grains In addition to the types of foods you find, you could also list the amounts and when you need to use them up by. Day 4: Do some simple meal planning Like all things zero-waste, a plan helps you reach your goals. You just need to create a simple plan for the next few days to a week. Keep a couple of slots blank for the unexpected—a last-minute dinner invitation, a catered lunch at the office, last-minute overtime at work and so on. With your kitchen inventory in hand, figure out what meals you can cook with ingredients you already have. Do this before shopping for more food and you’ll basically eliminate food waste at home. Make a list of missing ingredients for the dishes you want to cook. Day 5: Buy less food, the easiest way to avoid food waste With your kitchen inventory and meal plan completed, it’s time to go grocery shopping. Many of us overestimate how much of each type of food we need and how much each of our diners will actually eat. If you want to roast a side dish of potatoes for only two people, for example, do you really need five pounds of spuds? Day 6: Choose ugly fruit and vegetables The rigid requirements of many grocery stores for fruit and vegetables of a uniform size, with a perfect shape and color, result in many overlooked and uneaten “uglies” heading to the landfill. If you shop at the farmers’ market, you’ll find bins and bins overflowing with wonky looking—and utterly delicious—produce because that’s how food grows. Reject unrealistic ideals of vegetable beauty! Buy wonky if you can in your area. Some farmers at my market offer a discount for not-so-pretty apples, avocados and peaches. Day 7: Prep after you shop If you do some prep on Sunday afternoon, your week goes much smoother. On busy weeknights after a long day, with several components of a dish prepped and ready to go, you can make a meal quickly, resisting the urge to order takeout, guaranteeing you eat the food you have on hand. Day 8: Store food properly Make food last by storing it in the right place. Store tomatoes on the counter—they become mealy and tasteless stored in the refrigerator. Basil keeps well on the counter also, stored in a jar of water, as does asparagus. Potatoes and onions keep better when kept away from each other. On the other hand, if you want to speed up the ripening of an avocado, store it in a bowl of fruit. The ethylene gas from the fruit will cause the avocado to ripen quickly. Day 9: Use up every bit of produce Never shell out money for vegetable broth again! Other good choices for broth include the tails of green beans, bits of bell peppers, pea pods, parsnips, the hard ends of asparagus, corn cobs (so much flavor!), garlic and zucchini. Herbs taste delicious but add small amounts so as to not overpower the flavor of the broth. Use only small amounts of bitter greens and carrot tops as well. Day 10: Preserve something If you find you have extra food you won’t eat soon, you can try preserving it to make it last. A few methods to choose from: - Easy: Freeze it. If you won’t finish the leftover pasta sauce before it turns, put it in the freezer. Keep it there for a few days, a few weeks or longer. Read about freezing food without plastic here. - Still pretty easy: Cook it and freeze it. Have some vegetables that you won’t eat this week? - Roast them and freeze them or purée them into a soup, sauce or a dip and freeze that. - - - - More advanced but also easy: Ferment vegetables. Grate it, salt it, pack it in a jar and let it sit for a few days on the counter. You’ll have delicious probiotic sauerkraut that keeps for months in the refrigerator. Day 11: Give food away before it can become food waste Have too much food on your hands and want to avoid food waste quickly and easily? Share your food! Ask your friends and family if they’d like it. Day 12: Watch a documentary on food waste Everyone who eats should watch the documentary Wasted! The Story of Food Waste. Produced by the late great Anthony Bourdain, it features renowned chefs Dan Barber, Mario Battali, Massimo Battura and Danny Bowien. Day 13: Reduce food waste when you dine out It’s the weekend! If you eat out this weekend (or any time), you can reduce food waste on the go as well. Many restaurants both here in the US and abroad offer portions that could feed a couple of people. To reduce food waste, you could split an entrée with your dining partner when you eat out, bring a glass jar or container for the leftovers—or do both. Day 14: Stealthily recruit others Your family, friends—and especially acquaintances—don’t want to hear you say, “I noticed you waste a lot of food. You should stop that. Since when do you have so much money that you can afford to essentially throw a bunch of it away? Did you win the lottery and not tell anyone? I thought you were still unemployed.” You know what does work? “I made this fruit crumble with strawberries that I noticed were getting soft.
