Battle Spirits Manga in Summary
Bashin manga- Takes what was the cutest anime in the franchise and turns it into high octane nightmare fuel. And it actually works. Plot has roughly nothing in common with the anime plot. They don’t even play the card game properly.
Dan manga- Starts off copying the anime literally word-for-word, then goes off in its own direction. Kenzou really gets screwed over, and apparently the writer shipped Dan x Kajitsu for inexplicable reasons. Ending is happier than the anime.
KKA Brave manga- Has some similarities to the anime, but you would think Flora and Gilfam were the main heroines if you haven’t seen the anime. Which is actually kind of awesome. Also ends up significantly happier than the anime.
Brave X- Has very little to do with the anime plot. Mysteriously gives Mai supernatural powers. A large amount of characters either don’t appear or just get very minor cameos, which is rather disappointing.
KKA Heroes manga- Seems to have similarities to the anime, but is a bit cuter and diverges somewhat. Sadly most chapters are completely unobtainable.
Jump Heroes- Basically just all tournaments, so it’s the anime pruned of most of the fun stuff. However, no Amaterasu.
Sword Eyes manga- The anime abridged. Sadly cutting out a lot of the good stuff. Different ending, though.
Ultimate Zero manga- The anime abridged. Had some extra chapters taking place after, including a hot springs chapter with more fanservice than even the anime has.
Burning Soul manga- Takes the cast of Burning Soul and mercilessly strips everyone of all their redeeming qualities. So they’re all jerks, if not outright villainous. Even Yukimura. Actually a period piece, as opposed to the modern day/semi-futuristic setting the anime has.
Double Drive manga- The anime abridged. Different ending. Continues with more post-series chapters set in Shunta’s world, which writes out the entirety of the cast obviously except for him and Yoku.
Batosupi Club- Actually, there are two separate ones. One was a one-shot thing, with original characters. The other was a longer one involving two girls who look like Bashin and J, who join a club with other girls and play Battle Spirits.
Also, there are some weird side manga, like one involving SD spirits, and one with Lolo.
