The doors fly open and in glides a being bathed in an eerie glow. Their eyes two orbs of pale light. A grim determined expression plays across their ancient countenance. Their trailing robes of purple adorned with gemstones glitters and flows as they glide to you. The being stares down at you and declares in a voice heavy with authority...... "Time is the gateway and death is only the beginning of a new journey for the shadowlands of the afterlife are arduous but if you stay the course even you may reach heaven...." With those words the being faded away like a wisp of smoke......

…are mystical entities allergic to speaking normally, or did trait that go by the wayside when they forgot how to fucking knock?!

so I know I rarely talk about Johnathan Crane or Jervis Tetch (Hattercrow) but is it just me or Ghoul from Batman Beyond is the fanchild of Crane and Tetch

A meet cute with Ghoul 🫶

Parties. As much as his getup conflicts with, he hates them. All the dancing and drunk teenagers in New Gotham making him sick. He much preferred the heist that him and his team were doing.

That is of course, until…

“Hey. You probably get this a lot, but…your costume looks really amazing..”

He turned and locked eyes with you. You didn’t look too very dressed up for the party either, and you weren’t *thrilled* from what he could tell.

“Oh, uh…thanks, I guess…I uhh…made it myself…”

“Sweet. Dude if I had the skilled you do, I promise no one close to me would even be able to recognize me. You’ve got talent.”

“Thanks, again…I’m also a chemist, sorta.”

He saw your face light up and listened as you asked questions. He…actually didn’t want to hurt you during this heist, that’s why he suddenly grabbed you and took you out of the building, seeing his buddies run in with their respective gear.

“Look I know you’ll hate me after this but you gotta stay put now. If any of them find you, tell ‘em you’re with me.”

“What the…wait who even-“

“Ghoul.”

“Huh? Is that your…real name?”

“…no, but I can’t tell you that yet. Gotta keep you around long enough to find out.”

He looked around then took out somethings from his pumpkin basket, putting them in your hands. As you look down, you see some candy (although it doesn’t look like anything you’ve seen on the shelves before) and a weapon.

“Stay here until we’re done. Soon as Batman shows up, I’m running out here to you. If you don’t see me by the time he gets here, you run. There’s a tracer in that gun and I’ll be able to find ya. Don’t get hurt, okay?”

You blinked in surprise but nodded slowly.

“…why are you doing this..? You don’t know me…”

“…yea, but…I could.”

Ghoul's Hands <3 <3

Just a collection of headcanons because a friend of mine has CURSED ME with thoughts about him.

His hands are always cold. Freezing cold. It feels like he's barely got any blood running through his body.

While he doesn't mind his hands feeling cold, if you hold his hands close to you to warm them up, he'll melt. The warmth is so cozy and safe to him - it means a lot that someone cares enough to not want him to feel cold, even if it really doesn't bother him.

If you're walking side by side, he'll reach out and link pinkies with you.

He has callouses and burn scars from working with chemicals.

He bites his nails, but wears nail polish to discourage the habit.

He has a lot of spooky themed rings that he likes to wear, but many of them have tarnished in some funky ways from coming into contact with various chemicals/fumes.

He'll hold your face in his hands.

If you've got a fever or it's hot outside, he'll rest a hand on your forehead/neck to help cool you off. (See also: cuddling with him to stay cool when it's hot out)

He'll cover your eyes when you've got a migraine so your head doesn't hurt as much from the light. (I think about this ALL THE TIME)

Similarly he'll also cover your ears if you're in a loud, overwhelming environment and forgot headphones/earplugs.

His stitches run over the backs of his hands (I like to think of them as some kind of body mods), and they're a very grounding texture to run your thumb over. Holding his hand when you're stressed or panicking and running a thumb over his stitches to help calm down aaaaaa

He'd run his hands through your hair and massage your scalp to help you relax

When he gets spooked he'll cling to you. I imagine him as sometimes rather shy boi (but mostly around you)

When you compliment him he'll blush and say nothing.

He would let you wear his hat.

Hugs and kisses are a must to him. But he rather do these in private.

He will keep things in his basket that you gave him. Smiling when he looks at them. You feel closer to him like this.

Ghoul comforts you

You came home tired. Tired of the day you just had. Stewart came to greet you at the door only to be greeted back with a long face and barely a kiss.

"What's wrong, cutes?" He asked you. You sighed.

"A lot happened today..." You admitted. He frowned. He welcomed you into his arms, gently caressing you and fiddling with your clothes. You stayed like that for a long while, Stewart had shifted his weight a few times.

"You wanna go cuddle on the couch and talk about it...?" He offered, breaking the silence. You kissed him properly this time.

"Yeah, that would be nice." You admitted. He took you by the hand and led you to the couch. He guided your head into the crook of his neck. The sound of his breath and the way it lightly tickled your skin was comforting. You alternated between playing with his hair and caressing his face as you spoke. Once you were done, he leaned his forehead against yours to show you you weren't alone.

Man I don't know why you're still at Crane's, what's he even got left to teach you? He's like a hundred years behind you on chemistry research, he's a weird sleazy old fart, the way he talks about you makes it sound like he's got some weird complex about you being a kid. You could do better on your own, maybe you'd find your way home if he wasn't keeping you there.

So... despite the free warehouse space and supplies to work with, as well as free room and board when I was stranded in a completely unfamiliar world, fair wages, and the free mentorship support from an inspirational figure in my life... you think he's holding me back?

I'm not sure what makes you think that a chemist like me has any background in the quantum physics of space and time, or would know how to manipulate it. You go ahead and start building a time machine out of chewing gum and twine without manuals, tell me how it goes. Pretty sure what's holding me back is a lack of material and a lack of proficiency, way more than my housemates.

As for the doctor...

Let me give it to you directly: I hate my father. Dr Crane is more of a father figure than anyone else has ever been, and he's respectful of the fact that he'll never get the "dad" title despite wanting it.

It's nice to have an adult in my life that actually listens to me, shares my interests, and values my input and opinions as an intelligent human being, and having a domestic life that isn't a war of attrition between myself, the staff, and my absentee parents is pretty nice. I'm learning how to cook. I'm not starving in a subway. I'm not fighting to stay alive, and I'm actually enjoying myself living with the guy.

I can take the piss out of him, but you watch your mouth. If you're worried about my situation, why don't you ask about that instead of giving him shit behind his back? I'm no ingrate, and taking swings at him because you wanna know why I don't have my own apartment is uncalled for.
