It’s a cycle

Obviously, Jason had to wonder if spring would ever truly thaw the coldness that the manor held; a few years from living inside it, made all the walls soak up any sunlight that dared to penetrate it. But none of their attempts could shed off any of the redments  of the coldness that stayed consistent for the occupants living inside it.  

It had been a detail that he noticed. No matter how hard Alfred did something to push back it, the manor's ghost were stronger. Resting peacefully, like graveyards were known for. The Wayne Manor was in many ways a trip where memories loved to haunt any person that came inside. Bruce had been a man that lived in the past just as much as he did in the future. Always walking with a tempo that shadows used in templates that took Jason a few weeks into training to mimic when he first started out as Robin.  

He had been cautious about it. Humming when he could while designing himself into a corner where he could watch it all unfold. Funny how living in the streets of Gotham had been kind in that regard when he wanted to know how becoming a ward of Bruce and then taking the mantle of Robin did to a person. Grayson had been the first experiment. While Jason? He became a tradition for the future.

Back then, he had not known of the repercussions of his actions nor of Grayson’s.

All he knew was that Alfred did his best to cheer up the manor. He cleaned it, polished it and filled it with cheerful colors like the flowers from the gardens when Bruce allowed it. Not that it had cured anyone about the dreary atmosphere the manor had. Gotham wasn’t known for that kind of happy vibes for long, there would always be something cracked, a foundation would crumple like when a mirror shattered.

The pieces would scatter onto the floor and the reflection would just showcase how nothing had been okay in the first place as glass has always been a fragile material. The sharp edges too would cut any flesh or other material that it would touch. And Jason could understand that. Could sympathize with how the world worked to some extent. However, that did not mean that he would remain passive with the notion. He hadn’t been raised to live like that.

Alfred had been a smart guy to realize that when he stalked the hallways and sometimes used his afternoons after training to spend time with him. He would help too when Alfred would pass him a duster or a rag. The manor’s walls would be suffocating but, when he had company...when Jason knew that Alfred was there he could catch his breath.

When he accepted his fate as Robin and the second ward of Bruce Wayne, Jason had to some extent known that the path he chose wouldn’t ever give him easy choices.

And when the poison finally touched his limbs, and when he could sense them working against him, he recalled the flowers Alfred would cut from the garden. Simple roses, freesias, solidagos and any other that had been freely growing in multiples. It had been a strange occurrence, of being enthralled with a garden he never actively wandered into but had appreciated anyways when his thoughts darken. As if, those flowers had tried to lag the extension of what the manor did to a person.

(Of what it did when their names were attached to the tragedy of Bruce Wanye and Batman.)

He would always be grateful though, that they had Alfred there. Because he didn’t know if they could have survived at all without his wit, sensibilities and heart. After all, the Wanye manor had been dreary enough without his influence.

With how utterly shit I´ve been feeling for over a month now when it comes to what I write (my frustration got worse about two weeks ago and like a week ago I felt more than ready to just quit and delete everything because I felt like I was posting into a void without getting feedback of any sort), I haven´t written anything in two weeks, which for me is alarming because writing has been what´s helped me through several  tough spots over the years and is the one thing I find utter freedom and comfort in. Losing that motivation scared me because it´s never happened before in the eight or so years I´ve been either scribbling in notebooks, keeping stuff to myself or actually posting. It really, honestly scared me, and I told my best friend like four days ago. 

Literally. The next. Day. I came across a @batfambingo2019 post and didn´t hesitate to ask for my card. I got mine yesterday! And I just wanted to say, thank you for this event and for the card. I know it may sound silly and cheesy and who knows what else, but I literally came across event when I needed so, so, so desperately a source of motivation. So yeah, I just really wanted to say thank you :3  

So, here´s my card! (And I hope it´s okay to share it so early on ;A;) I already have several ideas jotted down and found in two or three squares more than enough reasons to finish two WIPs I´ve had since last year. If all goes well, I´ll fill it up soon enough to still have time left to ask for another one XD.

LAST BATFAM BINGOS FOR 2019!! Themes: Summer Camp AU (more of just summer camp in general here) and Birthday! I like Damian doing normal kid things~ Jon and Dick coming along are meant to look after him but also to convince him to even go :P 

And the “Birthday” one was based on the idea of Jason and Timmy growing up together as brothers with Bruce dad, calm and peaceful, and Jason rightfully passes down Robin to Tim when he’s ready on his birthday....I’m gonna say maybe 16th birthday? *shrug* Loosely based on Berba’s KH au, but could be general too...let them be loving and supportive!!!!! (I went with Gleason’s Tim Robin outfit, because I looove it)

Long time no bingo entry! Here’s one for the theme: “Jon Kent”! So remember that odd bit where Damian had some super powers after his resurrection? Berba suggested Jon teaching him how to fly during that time, and I’ve been wanting to draw it since. I really like the turnout!! 

And hey I got a bingo finishing this! YAY! Still working on the whole card though :P (Card under the cut)

Some Merboy Dickies for a batfam bingo prompt, Zoo AU! I was completely at a loss for what to do with that prompt...I’ve worked at a zoo before, but only the customer service portion, so I couldn’t figure how to spin it! But, after a little doodle I did for Mermay (that turned into a whole mer-batfam art dump) my awesome friend @raberbagirl started writing this adorable fic, Gifts from the Sea!! So she made it easy for me; here’s some fanart :’D The first pic in particular is from her latest chapter =v= All the whacky shirts! Plus a disco-wing shirt...because it makes me laugh alot iashfiueruighuirg--

Also I thought Jay would be a selkie, but he’s not in her fic as of yet! I just like to doodle him from time to time...Bruce rescued Jay from an abandoned net in that doodle, found out the kid bites :T Dick is admiring Jay’s webbed toes in that other doodle! Feet are already fascinating for the little mer, and now a person with webbed toes? Cool!

From that one Brooklyn 99 Episode, the one with the mole I think. I feel like I could put most of the fam in Bruce’s place but I still wanted this. Also, fills my free space for batfam bingo coz why not??
