Facebook just reminded me of this memory from 2 summers ago.... I still feel crazy grateful for being able to make a living playing bass in New York, sharing stages, studios, rehearsals and ideas from the masters. 🙏🏼🙅🏻 . "One of the coolest things about being a South American gal living in New York is that you get to meet some of the people who made a big impact in your life, from back when you growing up in the tropics, and sooooooo hungry for learning music - a.k.a…your idols :) When I was in Brazil, beginning my bass journey, I remember listening to Ivan Lin's "Vitoriosa" over and over for hours, driving my parents crazy - sorry dad… - and wondering who did that incredible fretless bass melody on the intro, while playing the entire song with something beyond groove: spirit and soul. It was like you could hear Ivan's lyrics through the bassline. Then, a friend told me it was this guy from the USA named Will Lee. I then started to dig in, in search for American albums with his name on it. Will, among other bassists became one of my "groove teachers." I listened to many recordings and learned so much from his art, even though I had never met him, or seen him play live - just from the CD's. Anyway, because I live in New York, I've known Will for a few years now, and love seeing him live, hanging and learning from the master! Wütend genug

In meinem Kopf singt Judith Holofernes, “Bin ich nicht wütend genug für dich und deine Leute”, und ich weiß ums Verrecken nicht, wie der Text weitergeht. Es erklingt die Bassmelodie, dann nur noch la la la. Und so singt meine Ohrwurm-Judith munter in Dauerschleife immer die selbe Zeile, während ich mich frage, ob ich nicht wirklich langsam wütend genug bin.
