#it’s frustrating that accommodations are so hard to get here#housing accommodations even more so#i just want an accommodation to live on the ground floor/the lowest floor with dorm rooms#but I already know that it would be futile to pursue#because I would have to get the PA that I saw once to fill out the form and she doesn’t understand the severity of my symptoms#even if she looked through the pt records they would say that I can do stairs#because one of the goals was me being able to walk up and down a flight of stairs without pain#and yes! I can! but multiple flights are much harder and doing even just one flight multiple times throughout a day can cause immense pain#some days it won’t. other days it might be the deciding factor in whether I can go back to my room at all during the day#and the system in general is not set up to take disabilities that fluctuate into account#especially not the ODA#doesn’t help that the college is trying to kill co-ops and charges way too high rent and refuses to update the buildings until they have to#take for example the closing of the bike co-op in one of the housing co-op’s basements— they had to close it due to ‘mold and cold’#basically the college hadn’t been maintaining it or addressing mold concerns and the heating was broken along with an immense amount of mold#it was a health/safety violation which is why it got fixed#the co-ops don’t have elevators or rooms on the ground floor and I knew that going in#but it still is frustrating to know that I won’t have any control over where my room is or how hard it’ll be for me to get there
