Alright here’s a SM/DM AU, call it Despicable Month or Spooky Me or something

I actually quite like this idea I’d be happy to hear about it

The quality So basically Skid’s Dad is Gru, Lila is Lucy, Suzy is Margo, Pump is Edith with a bit of Stuart thrown in, and Skid is Agnes with a smidge of Bob. No one knows what happened to the Wonder kids’ parents, they just somehow end up in an orphanage with Skid (I’m not yet sure if he should be biologically related to either of his parents or not). Skiddad, probably needing kid sacrifices for the cult or something, adopts all of them one day, but then starts becoming attached. The Spookeez also kinda take the role of the minions, which allows me to focus more on them while also having a legitimate reason to do so (Skid and Pump ARE the main characters after all, and they just- remind me a bit of the minions. MINIONS AREN’T TECHNICALLY IN THIS STORY THOUGH. ARE YOU HAPPY, GOD?). Skiddad sees their eagerness to help him with his “spooky” stuff, and puts them to work spreading chaos and taking care of demons and stuff. His relationship with Suzy is rockier, given that she has abandonment issues that the other two haven’t yet developed.

Anyways they all resolve that somehow, Skiddad meets Lila who works in the police force or something, etc etc.

I also had the idea (which I’ll probably sketch later) that all the villains in DM are all the antagonists from SM, except just really wonderfully over the top and crazy (Like- Bratt levels of sheer aesthetic).

Ricky (2004 Tord's adoptive son)

His biological parents had a troubled relationship, and his mother had Ricky when she wasn't even married, and his father disappeared from the map when he found out she was pregnant.

When Ricky was born, his mother was too tired and depressed to take care of him, so she left him at the door of EW Studios (since it was the first door she found to leave the little basket where baby Ricky was), and days later, his mother was found dead in a cabin in the middle of the forest.

Her body was near a gun, which suggested she committed suicide. The owner of the cabin was the owner of the gun, and he was the same person who reported the case to the police and was declared innocent as he was not in the cabin at the time of the incident (and he was not the one who killed her).

Tord only found out that Ricky now no longer had parents when he saw the woman's body being taken away, and he realized that it was Ricky's mother because of her hair color (also black). He never learned the whereabouts of Ricky's biological father, but he was sure he had no interest in being part of Ricky's life. And Tord adopted Ricky because the baby liked him more and because Tord was the one that took more Care of Ricky while they were searching for his parents lol

Ricky, even though he is a young child, he already knows parts of his parents' story (in a very vague way and without much information), but he genuinely doesn't care about it, since for him, Tord is the best father and parental figure he ever had.

Now about the 2trenchfamily AU, the backstory is pretty much the same. The only difference is that in the original AU, Ricky is Tord's only son throughout his life, while in this new AU he gained a little brother (son of Tord and Derick) at age 7.

Nikolai (Tord + Derick Child)

In the 2trenchfamily AU, he is Ricky's younger stepbrother. He has autism and rarely talks (only when showing emoticons or when the situation ACTUALLY needs some answer). He's also a big fan of cats (mostly kittens) and wish he had a kitten (since they don't have pets in this AU yet).

Nikolai was created from Derick and Tord's DNA in a laboratory, more specifically in Dr. Decapi's laboratory, who had to put his mutual hatred for Derick aside and help them have the baby.

Different of his parents, Nikolai doesn't have interest in guns or anything like that. He's still a small child but he got no interests in common with his parents (only liking cats). He likes reading children's books, more specifically those where you can interact with the characters (I don't know how to explain this part very well, but he enjoys books just like the kitten book that Gru's daughters showed him in Despicable Me :3) and he also likes flash games that doesn't include anything gory related (like those kitchen/cooking games or dress up games).

And also, Ricky (in this AU, a teen) shares his octopus plush Nami with Nikolai, so Nami is basically also Nikolai's comfort plush :3

Wait... you know Hetalia???!!!

I love Hetalia and I'm forever thankful that I was never exposed/encountered the bad side of it, especially since I've been in the Hetalia fandom for a long time. It does make me feel sad that whenever I bring up Hetalia, it's the bad side people only know 😔.

I still follow Himaruya's post (comic strips), if there's a new season, new character song, new theme song, drama cds, new musical, and merch. Atm, I have a mochi England plushie (it's the only one available) and a hetalia jacket. (I'm poor).

I fell inlove with history (I now love historical (even war) movies and known as the weird but smart/nerd and quiet student 🤣😅) and came to appreciate languages and culture of other countries, really fascinating. I also became a yearly viewer of Eurovision 😅. Some songs are in my playlist.

I love the characters cause despite them being based on stereotypes, you can see that they have their own distinct personality. Also the fact that they have human names, it really helps prevent people from thinking I'm crazy XD.

For anyone wondering (since I saw some anons who didn't know about it), Hetalia is a comedy/satire show/comic starring the personification of countries. Every epsiode is only 5 minutes so it's very quick. It can be/seem offensive, depending how you take some moments. It sometimes hits you with emotional damage out of nowhere and that's what I'm focused on in this fandom. Angst and historical aus is my bread and butter. Eng dub is great, it's like an official abridged XD. Be ready for the accents. It also has a movie. Expect silly moments most of the time. The story is not linear, it tackles history from 900-1000's to present time. It sometimes feels like a slice of life anime with historical/cultural trivias/jokes sprinkled in there. It has canon AUs as well like nyotalia, which is basically genderbent version of chars or nekotalia, which is the cast as cats. Advice, take the infos in the show with a grain of salt and maybe don't take everything seriously. It consists of a lot of male characters , so very limited female cast.

Now for the fandom, I can't control what part of it you may run into so uh... goodluck. Lucky for you, it's chill compared to what it's like before, like no joke. It does feel barren sometimes. Just beware ig lol. (I'm not really showing confidence towards the fandom, despite being part of it HAHAHAH XD) Be ready for the weirdness, we have Iceland x Fridge, Gru (yes from despicable me) x lovino (s. italy), sweden x ikea, toris (lithuiana) x therapy/happiness to name a few (crack) ships and a fricking religion called Doitsuism, idk why but it exists. 😂🤣🤣😅😭

If anyone is curious about character songs theres: aiyaa 4000 years (china), Moi moi (Finland), How about me (Estonia), Excuse me I'm sorry (Japan), white flame (Russia), and steady rhythmus (Germany) to name a few. There's a ton more, some have multiple char songs, while others have only one song. There's also group songs (two of which are christmas songs). Every song is sung by their VAs in the anime, including the ending songs. It has multiple versions so if you're tired listening to Italy singing the ed, try to listen to idk England's version, each one has different vibe and unique lyrics fitting for the char. Example, Ed 1 can be orchestral or rock depending which version you listened to, really cool stuff imo.

MINION DISSERTATION

This is true and I’m hearing you however as we know minions are immortal and therefore have no need to reproduce. Does this mean intraminion relationships are an anomaly? From a friendship point of view, no. Tons of animals have social connections outside of mating, with what we consider a human relationship structure pretty common in other mammals, maybe most notably chimpanzees. Like chimps and people, minions clearly have close friends within a tribe and distribute their time with others based on the level of intimacy — Kevin designates a lot more social time to Bob than to Mel for example, not only because Mel sucks and has a receding minion hairline (see the prison break in Despicable Me 3), but because Kevin views himself as a defacto parental figure.

Assuming minions are on par with if not exceeding humans evolutionarily (they survived the Jurassic era and Nixon’s presidency), friendship, both within and outside their own species, is beneficial to survival. Being aquatinted with the top of the food chain in any given era guarantees protection considering minions have basically no defense mechanisms other than the fact it’s impossible to hang them (see the torture chamber scene in Minions 2015). So forming connections outside of their tribe is biologically advantageous. However this still doesn’t explain why they think Lucy’s so hot in Despicable Me 2 or why Stuart has the minion equivalent of a threesome with two fire hydrants in the Minion Movie. From an evolutionary standpoint, why do romantic relationships exist in the minion-sphere if they have no way of mating?

Or do they — this is where things get mifficult (minion difficult). Until now it’s been assumed minions do not reproduce at all, even asexually, because the tribe population has been a steady 10,400 since at least 2013 (see the official Despicable Me 2 Facebook page). Romantic relationships can be interpreted as a higher form of social bonding. But at one point in their development minions must have had some sort mitosis-esque duplication while they were still ocean-dwelling unicellular organisms as shown in Minions 2015, which stopped sometime between 3.5 billion (when life emerged onto land) and 90 million (when the T-Rex first appeared) years ago. Like the gay penguins, relationships more intimate than typical social ones would’ve been beneficial for coparenting. However, their current form, there has only been one instance of minion reproduction — Stuarts chicken baby.

In Minions: Rise of Gru we see Stuart transformed into a chicken via body horror ray, which then lays an egg, hatching a half minion half chicken baby. This is where the original question comes back into play. If chicken Stewart was a hen, is original Stuart the minion equivalent of biologically female? My team theorizes that all minions are intersex in terms of secondary characteristics, a trait left over from their ability to asexually reproduce millions if not billions of years ago in a way similar to the recently discovered Komodo dragon parthenogenesis.

So minions have no primary sex characteristics, are hormonally intersex, but display physical features induced by testosterone like reducing hairlines and deeper voices (by minion standards). According to Pierre Coffin, they unanimously identify as male, though that could be only in relation to other gendered species around them. Okay so are the minions gay. While with interspecies relationships they tend to show more interest in adult women (i.e. Gru’s hot wife), in terms of intraspecies relationships this appears to be true. Romantic associations between members of the tribe seem to be left-over from the need to coparent an early form of minion offspring, now serving as a tool for social bonding.

Trope : neighbour

Toji is a very closed off person (according to me). This man has been through a LOT so I don't see him as someone who would be very vocal so only way for him to woo someone is ....acts of service.

He is the type of person who is rude to the world but a softy for you. He would help his crush carry out different tasks that they'd be struggling with. Want to carry a heavy parcel to your apartment, toji is there! Want to fix your television? Toji is happy to help! Want someone to take care of your plants while you're away ...toji is struggling but he does it!

I see him practicing smiling in front of the mirror to appear more friendly towards his crush. He would practice for days on how to ask you out for coffee and when you say "yes" all he can say is "cool". But on the inside he is basically a mush.

NANAMI

Trope : work crush

Uuuugggh this man is so PERFECT it hurts! He would greet you every morning without fail when sees you walk through the office door. He hated working but you are the only reason he comes to work at all.

Would purposely schedule his coffee breaks to catch you in pantry and try to start a conversation with you. He is really polite and everyone loves him and so do you. He would probably start the conversation with work related matters and probably move on to other small talks.

If you are good friends then you'd find baked goods on your table when you get to work, sometimes they'd be paired with your favourite flower. He'd get you coffee and if you're working late with him he would insist you have tea so that you don't spoil your sleep schedule.

Would offer you his coat if the temperature is a bit too low for your liking. Wou walk you to your bus stop/car/cab after work everyday. If it's raining and you don't have an umbrella he would insist that you take his'.

Outside work he would probably take you for a walk in the park, very relaxing. Would probably invite you for dinner at his place and cook your favourite meal.

He is 10! And there are not BUTs involved.

GETO

Trope : Gym crush

Would be hesitant to approach you at first because he knows guys at the gym can be creepy but when you approach him first he would agree politely.

Would coach you on your form without being offensive. If he sees that you're watching him then he would go above and beyond to hit his PR.

I'd see him using his body to attract his crush. He would use the hem of his sleeveless gym t shirt to wipe off his sweat, all as an excuse to show off his chiseled abbs. Would walk past you pretending he didn't see you only to show off his pumped biceps. If he's on a treadmill, he's shirtless. Would purposely stretch near you so that you'd see him through the mirror.

Would run after you once you leave the gym and ask you out for coffee. Plain and simple. Would ask you to spot him (lol) only to show off.

GOJO

Trope : College rich boy (he gives that vibe, don't come at me)

Would walk in the class with the confidence of a king but the moment he sees you talking to another man, who's sitting next to you, his confidence would deflate. Next thing you know, no one is sitting next to you, on either side! Now he walks in with the same confidence and sits next to you.

He wouldn't know how to handle emotions and would resort to teasing you initially but then when he sees that isn't working he decides it's time for the big game.

Would pretend to not understand a topic and ask you to tutor him after the class. Would sit a bit too close to you in the library and ask doubts everytime he sees you getting ready to leave. Would offer to buy you dinner in exchange for your help. If you say no then he would not drop it until you say yes. He is persistent.

Would pick you up from the dorm, dressed like a prince and take you out to the most beautiful restaurant in the city. He would have the entire corner reserved so that you two won't be disturbed. Would show genuine interest in you and ask you about your life.

If he plays football then he would find you in the crowd and run towards you after the game with a huge smile plastered on his face. Would definitely wink at you when he scores a goal.

*claps* ANALYSIS/THEORY TIME GUYS

I just finished rewatching Despicable Me 2 and I got a bunch of screenshots here yeah lets gooooo! You already know which character is the main focus for me here ;)

Okay I just wanted to try and clarify the whole “they worked together for 40 years and then Nefario just straight up abandoned Gru at first opportunity”. I’m here to say that he probably never planned to leave forever. More like he wanted to lure Gru back into being evil. And this leaving was just a step that he needed to make for this plan to work out properly.

As we know from Minions 2, in his early 30s Nefario was about to start living honest life without any crimes and other stuff like that, but Gru just came and dragged him back, this time for the rest of his life. And now he is in mid 70s, there is already no time for him to change the lifestyle again, he is already fully devoted to villainy and can’t imagine his existence without it. And then Gru goes “oops yeah I wanna live an honest life”, and Nefario is like “…….man what the f**k did I tell you like 40 years ago???”

He just can’t change himself anymore, he feels out of place, but he doesn’t want to grow apart with Gru since he is probably the only one who he can truly call his family. So he tries to do the same thing that Gru did to him all those years ago - drag him back into being villain.

He goes to work for El Macho and slowly takes the minions after him, and basically this whole purple army thing is just a big bait for Gru. I’m almost certain that he convinced El Macho that they need to invite Gru into this plan, since he was really happy to finally see him in El Macho’s lair and even brought the confetti to celebrate their reunion as a team. He was hoping that Gru will get inspired, that they will be back to being villains and will take over the world together with their new forces.

I’m pretty sure that at some point Nefario would just quietly get rid of El Macho and go “oops, looks like there are two of us again, cool right?”

He looks quite disappointed when Gru doesn’t show any enthusiasm for the idea. He doesn’t want to take over the world without him. All of this was just to bring his evil boi back into the business. Aw.

And he definitely didn’t expect El Macho to sic the purple minion on Gru. That was the moment that he realised that the situation went out of control. “Destroying the family in case Gru doesn’t join us” clearly wasn’t on his to-do list.

So almost immediately after that Nefario goes back to Gru’s side and sabotages El Macho’s plans. Because the whole plan of luring Gru into the villainy transformed into a big life threat for everyone too fast. Not only for Gru, but for the girls and Lucy as well.

Does Nefario treat the girls like granddaughters? I think yeah, kind of. His attitude to them evolved from DM 1 a lot. I think he even started seeing in them the echoes of his past with 11 yr old Gru. Just look how happy he is about bringing them with him into the battle and giving them guns and stuff, he forgets for a minute that Gru is much more protective about children then Marlena was.

There is a sparkle in him that reminded him of the younger days when he and small Gru were just having genuine fun. Maybe he even felt for a few moments that he went back in time, he wasn’t as excited about anything through the whole movie as much as he was about giving the gOrls the guns and letting them have pure fun without consequences. He is clearly having the time of his life during the whole final battle scene.

Oh my GOD that was a lot. I hope you like the whole thing, I spent like 50 minutes on making this post, lol :D

Really stupid AU headcanon thingy I came up with that Amy is Eggman's adopted daughter.

Her being "kidnapped" was actually her being brought back home after Eggman freaked the fuck out when he saw that she was nowhere to be found. Turns out she was off doing her own shit and talking with Sonic who's like the neighborhood cute boy to her in the AU but he's also still Eggman's "enemy". So it's with really wack-ass sort of like. Basically think Gru from Despicable Me. That's what Eggman's like here. And Amy is very much not someone to follow directions and she'd rather break out and do fun shit with Sonic than go beddy byes.

So this evolves into a whole dynamic that continues later on in time and Eggman is constantly like "Amy for the love of everything good PLEASE come back here this is INCREDIBLY dangerous!".

All the while Sonic is absolutely wrecking his badniks in the background lmao.

i fucking hate the minion movie bc its bullshit and also revisionism. You can literally see blueprints for the minions on the wall in the first DM movie (shortening Despicable Me to DM for the remainder of this post to save time and space) Gru literally created them. He remembers every single one of their names and fully understands their language. BECAUSE HE MADE THEM. he bioengineered them from corn kernels. this is also why they love Gru, he's all of their dad pretty much and the minions treat the gorls as little sisters basically

in the minion movie they're like "oh the minions always exsisted and always faithfully served whoever the biggest villain at the time is" like okay. stupid and untrue lore. They did have to make up a reason they conveniently moved to the north pole during ww2 which like. I fully understand why they made *that* decision at least and don't blame them, but like they didnt consider that the minions with this lore still definetly aided in like actual war crimes and served fascists during other time periods given that they were shown backing napoleon. which is just a weird implication to put in a kids movie that would've never come up if they didnt invent the stupidest laziest new lore for the minions like what the hell

anyways im getting off topic somewhat, the minions serve that one lady in the movie and her beatle-esque boyfriend, i dont remember their names bc i only watched it once and hated it. but shes a villain and in the end they end up not serving her DESPITE HER TREATING THEM LIKE SHIT, because they found a better villain to serve (gru as like an 8 year old)

In DM its established multiple times that Gru is not as good of a villain as Vector. Thats a major plot point. like literally the plot revolves around that. and the minions dont ever leave Gru for Vector, which given the retconned canon doesn't make any sense that they would stay. Here's this guy whos more evil or whatever and is better at stealing crap and the minions stay with Gru because OBVIOUSLY they would in the original canon, they're his creations. it makes sense if you only watch the main DM movies.

now if you'll remember DM2, Grus a fucking good guy. Like straight up now works actively against other villains. sorry if i just spoiled DM2 for you but its been out for a very long time so i dont know what to say. vader is also lukes father. anyways he's also a good guy in DM3 but i dont remember that one as well. one of the south park guys voices the villain in that one for some fuckin reason?? sorry back on topi, so like Gru is now a good guy in every sense of the word. and the minions? still very loyal to him. AGAIN this wouldn't make any sense wit the MM lore, but it makes perfect sense with the original canon.

I really really hate the MM because its so clearly an obvious attempt to cash in on old and young peoples love for minions, but like every soulless cash grab franchise they didn't put any love into it and it shows because the writing is doo doo garbage and undoes a lot of the cool character writing they did for the protag they so obviously did actually like.

Question: it seems the alot of the Despicable Me villains were influenced to become villains due to a negative childhood/past. Gru was basically neglected by him mom, Balthazars show was canceled, Scarlet was possibly living in poverty and had a neglectful family (atleast from her point of view), and let's face it, Vector possibly became a villain mainly cause it was the family buissness and he wanted to live up to his dad's expectations. Granted, there are probably many who became villains cause 'why the fuck not?', like El Macho, (Honestly, if being a villain was a straight up career path, I would TOTALLY be taking that opportunity), but still. Do you think atleast some of the Vicious 6 had traumatic or negative pasts that pushed them to want to become villains? And while we're on the topic, what was your ocs influences to become villains?

I Think w some of the vicious 6 it could be both, something might've happened and it could also be a "lol fuck you" to society and to get what they want. To show that they're powerful, Like with Jean I noticed he's obviously somewhat anxious at times, when not out of the field, fidgeting and nail biting which are signs of anxiety, his voice cracks. It could just be he's scared of Belle. Maybe he had developed anxiety after smthing or someone then he developed tech to destroy it and now he's just spooked of Belle lmfao idk 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Wild Knuckles has probably been thru shit cuz, he old. And god damn how is he not dead this dude immortal like tf. And thats why he brought these dudes together to show that they're BETTER AND MORE SLAY 💅🏽✨✨✨ I'd say these guys probably shared a few things and thats why he was so 🥺 when they just kicked him to the curb

Alan Became a villain to make a face for himself, To feel some sense of worth for himself. (before also using his power to shut down brand competitors, did THAT out of petty honestly 🤪) Elliot Became a villain out of rage

and Valerie became a villain because of hatred, she so said fuck it and went with her homies to cause CHAOS.

Alan I'm thinking probably came from a family, of average wealth, his father was probably the money maker and a douche, pretty snarky about it. And I imagine Alan had a difficult time actually getting a job and because of that was probably kicked to the curb all because his dad wanted someone who could make them look good 🧍🏽So they kicked him out. Burned all his stuff. Told him he had no son, unless he made himself a bigger person, a face in this world, then MAYBE he'd let him back into their life. He's very lonely and was probably lost for some while until he found Elliot, which eventually lead them to Valerie. He holds a lot of self loathing, a lot of misery, he just wants to feel something other than hatred and loneliness so he bathes in money.

Valerie was expected to be her mommies and aunts perfect image, to be exactly like them, like some braindead zombie djhfkjdsfhd and she was for years, but every time she stepped out of line she got SOME kind of punishment, and would have to redeem herself in someway, but after just being done with that bullshit she tried to just, y'know walk out. But instead she just got the fking yells n hands pulled out on her. She really tried to save her image she had on them 🤷🏽‍♀️ BUT THEN THAT BITCH RAN. She knows how to run in heels because she slays 💅🏽✨

She holds a lot of resentment, but blowing shit up makes her feel better 🤪🤪🤪

And Elliot, became a villain out of hatred towards literally everyone ✨🕺🏽✨ except his family, this lil dude loved his family with all his big heart 🥺 Wasn't really always a villain, more like an anti-hero? At first? He would fight other crime and even random people for a bounty to bring home to his family, but ig he killed someone he shouldn't have bc one night when he came home and he found his family had been offed. he was just absolutely terrified. Then he was absolutely furious. THATS when he became a full on villain, to take his rage out on absolutely everything. He even built robot droids he calls his babies lol

But one day he stopped after he realizes, maybe this isn't a good way to let out his frustration 🧍🏽(there's more than that tho)
