Going Vegan Update 1
YO YO YOOOO! So todays date is 08.25.19 which means I have successfully completed 1 week of being a Vegan. To be honest聽I'm surprised that I DONT miss anything that I have eliminated from my diet. I will say I was briefly tempted when my aunt came over and made homemade fried chicken but the moment was fleeting so it wasn't like I had a battle of will or anything. So I weighed myself for the first time since starting this journey and at the beginning my weight was 291; when I checked last night I weighed 283!!!!2....8..3!!!!!!!!!! That is 8lbs in a week. I was suppose to start working out on Wednesday but that didn't happen so I am honestly surprised by this number. No I don't see any visible changes in my physique and for those wondering I haven't experience any loss of strength nor experienced muscle fatigue so I doubt聽I'm losing muscle but rather actually losing pounds of fat. Now I was tempted to update earlier in the week when I did notice some other changes but decided to wait ti verify if its just me over analyzing myself or is this real. Like I said it has been a week and I can say for sure that I am cured of the iTis. For those of you who may not know what that is I am referring to, simply put I don't get tired after eating a meal. Also wake up not feeling that overly tired and sluggish in the morning. Oh another big thing is that I haven't experienced heartburn in any way. Sometimes my heart burn would be so back that I would wake up wanting to vomit or even worse from pretty much vomiting in my mouth and almost choking on it (Sorry if that's too much info). I also feel like I have more energy throughout my day not getting that sudden sleepy feeling and needing to power through it as well as I have only had a cup of coffee the entire week and聽I'm sure that was just out of habit. Pretty much this has been an amazing week and I am looking forward to what other changes and experiences will come.

So A New Journey Begins....Veganism
Today is Aug. 18, 2019 and it is the first day of my vegan journey. As of right now I am committed to keeping this up until Sept. 18, 2019 which is a full month. My goals/motivations are pretty simple; I honestly looked in the mirror and admitted that I am on a path that will shorten my life as well as decrease the quality of it as well. I stepped on the scale last night and faced this truth head on...291 lbs. I have got to lose the excess fat that I have put onto my body that surrounds my organs, compresses my veins (high blood pressure), and hinders my joints. My next reason is that I really want to see if this change will help me feel better all over. Will I experience what it really means to be healthy and 聽if so then what exactly have I been missing out on? Has my perceived good health held me back from really being my best self? My last reason is sheer will. I want to do this at least for my appointed goal. I want to practice mental strength not just wish for it or claim to have it without putting into practice. Ultimately I want to be a better me and I believe taking control of what I eat will help get there.聽聽I have tried to do research leading up to this beginning in preparation for doing this the right way. I have had so many people try to give me the negatives of what they have HEARD what others have gone through trying to live this plant based lifestyle and their failures. Yes, I know that there is a right and a very wrong way to do this but that is why I have tried to do my fair share of research. Now I must say that I am in very much need of help making this really stick and enjoying the journey. ESTABLISHED VEGANS OF ALL WALKS I NEED YOUR HELP! I don't know anything and I looked around in the kitchen today and felt like I had nothing to eat but carrots, peanut butter, and some chibata bread (today I had rice, chic peas, cabbage, and yes the chibata bread) so please share your knowledge and experience with a fledging Vegan. Thank You.聽

Post workout/breakfast. Blended variety of greens and vegetables with cayenne pepper for that kick. Great way to get your veggies in to fuel and cleanse the body.

Back on my bike after about a month due to initially taking a break and then getting lazy and loosing motivation to get back on but I鈥檓 back. Took it easy today because it鈥檚 been a while and I didn鈥檛 want to push to hard before getting back acclimated with the exercise. Nice ride today.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Frank鈥檚 Grill which boast it鈥檚 chicken and waffle plate sits on the list of The top 15 in the Houston/Greater Houston area along side powerhouse The Breakfast Klub. Like most places this platter is served with a large eel made waffle but that鈥檚 the star here. The chicken whether you order the chicken wings option or the chicken fried chicken breast is the lead in the dish. Well seasoned and fried in a light yet crunchy crust the chicken exceeds all expectations from the moment it lands in front of you to the time the last crum hits your stomach. Paired together with the well buttered and syrup dripping waffle and nothing about this dish can go wrong. If your ever in Houston and don鈥檛 want to stand in the long lines at The Breakfast Klub or wanna break away from one of those chain restaurants then feel free to venture out into The greater Houston area and dine at Frank鈥檚 Grill but be careful cause the food will really stick to your ribs. 鈥檚 Grill
