After several months of going on and off with this I have finished it!
These are my two characters Marilyn and Aurelius. Marilyn is in a forced marriage and her father (the sadist he is) decided to have a portrait done based off of The Reluctant Bride by Auguste Toulmouche, which you can see the bottom left corner of in the top right (not the legitimate painting of course) as a small nod to the painting.
If you liked this then you can check out my patreon which would make me very happy! Here's the link below:

What’s the name of the paintings in your uquizz? Im uncultured but they’re so pretty
thanks for asking! and you aren't uncultured anon you just don't know this one specific piece of info.
the paintings are...
(I included the images so I added a keep reading tab)
^ not sure of the specific name but this is one of the Ballet Dancers by Konstantin Razumov
^ this smashing painting is by Auguste Toulmouche and called Vanity.
^ Last Call by Ron Hicks
^ this is a work called Madame x-ray by Maria Marfia
Its a modern painting based off this 1880s work madame x by John Singer Sargent of young socialite Virginie Amélie Avegno Gautreau
^ this is a super interesting painting with a cool and chaotic history that I recommend you check out.
^ Summer by Frank Weston Benson. I have a slightly cropped image of the og painting.
^ This is death of Sappho by Miguel Carbonell Selva
The paintings I left off are the ones I found on pinterest and included cause they look cool, and i have 0 knowledge of them

(An ask I stole from another blog) If the ROs were classical paintings ( any era) which painting would they be?
(These are all vibes based and not meant to indicate lore)
Cecil: “Consolation” by Auguste Toulmouche
Blake: “Judith Slaying Holofernes” by Artemisia Gentileschi
Emerson: “Louise Vernet on her Deathbed” by Paul Delaroche

I saw this list of questions on @tosfumarewords’ blog and I’m in a slightly introspective whimsical mood so I decided to just do it.
What movie do you wish you were a character in?
I suppose it depends on whether I’m a background character slotting into the tapestry or a protagonist (and then if I replace them do I retain agency?). For ease, I’m going to go with background character and that means Ella Enchanted. All the convenience of modern life with the magical setting. Win-win! Also, no textual evidence of poverty.
Create your dream fragrance; what would the ingredients be like?
The smell of snowflakes falling onto snowy ground with an undertone of vanilla.
As a siren, what bewitching song would you sing to lure people to their doom?
Leonard Cohen - Dance Me to the End of Love.
The dramatic irony coupled with that vivid imagery and poetic lyricism of Cohen just strikes the right tone I reckon.
*clicks shoes together three times* Anywhere in the world (fantasy or reality) where would you go?
Edinburgh.
Similar to Harry Potter, if you could reside in a painting, which one would you choose?
If I’m spending my life in a painting I will be entertained! So... Dans la Bibliotheque by Auguste Toulmouche.
Just look at all those books! And the dress isn’t half bad either.
Like the symbols associated with the Greek gods and goddesses; what would be your chosen symbol to embody you as a person? (E.g. some symbols of Aphrodite are dove and sparrows.)
I think a compass sums me up nicely.
If you were to create your own Met Gala theme, what would it be based on?
Well a Met Gala theme should be broad, fantastically aesthetic, and opulant. I think I’d set The Consummation of Empire (from the painting by Thomas Cole). I’d love to see what’s designed. For reference it’s the below. The third in a set of five on the progress of empire.
What seven objects would you choose to hide your soul in?
I’ve done this before and honestly if I’m going the Voldemort route it would all be perfectly ordinary. A rock, a seashell, a scrap of paper, a leaf, a feather, a bobby pin, and a paperclip shall do me just fine. And I’ll promptly pop them down in the middle of more of the same or off the side of a cliff or into the ocean.
You’re whistling while you work, what animals would you like to come and join?
Birds. I just adore birds.
Like the story of Swan Lake, what mythical creature/beings from folklore would you like to transform into by day?
A pegasus.
I tag @vveze and anyone else who feels so inclined.
