French Art Nouveau jeweler René Lalique was perhaps most innovative and subtle in his combinations of enameling and precious stones. This pendant is in the form of two confronted peacocks standing on the flat edge of a triangular cabochon opal, from the base of which a baroque pearl is suspended. The peacocks are formed with cloisonné enameling in light shades of blue and green with dark blue and white wing feathers. Tail feathers terminate in openwork stylized "eyes" of diamonds and blue enamel.

1.) Coin Pearl has pale-yellow skin, a flat gem on her right palm, and yellow hair cut close to her head. She is wearing a long-sleeved, cream top, beige leggings, and a tan sash tied around her waist with long tails in the back. Coin Pearl is drawn from behind at a 3/4 angle, tucking her hands behind her back with her gem visible and turning her head to the left with a neutral expression.

2.) Baroque Pearl has pale-periwinkle skin, a gem on her forehead with a bulbous circle protruding from the otherwise round pearl, and mauve hair styled into a bun on top of her head with locks of hair on either side that sweep forwards. She is wearing a high-necked, blue romper with a sheer layer affixed at the bust that goes from light-blue to mint-green that goes just past her hips, light-yellow socks, and light-blue flats. She stands en-pointe with her arms posed stiffly at her sides. Her left eye is yellow and her right eye is blue.

3.) Pear Pearl has pale, slightly green-toned skin, an irregular gem on her chest shaped like a pear, and light, lime-green hair pulled into a bun on top of her head. She is wearing a strapless, light-green romper down to her knees with a sweetheart neckline, a yellow star over her chest, and a sheer skirt with a rounded, bubble-like shape. Pear Pearl stands en-pointe, looking upwards.
