I just reminded myself (spoilers for agggtm btw)

A few days ago i finished binge watching AGGGTM. Obviously i have a lot of notes about it. so i kinda wanna list all of the notes i wrote. ill only post the main ones...

firstly, i dont remember how the beginning of agggtm started, but im sure it wasnt in a shop??? idk if that was to make emphisis on the fact that Pip's a "good girl" or what but idk...i feel like the whole idea of doing the work during her holidays is good enough to show how big of a "good girl" she is.

Also, why does Pip stalk Ravi and bribe him with Muffins?? i mean...i kinda like that idea but the way Pip in the book actually knocked on his door instead was good too.

I honestly really liked the idea of Pip and Cara dressed up as stars at the Hastings party and i dont mind that it was different from the book.

WHY DID THEY MAKE MAX LOOK LIKE THAT??? he does kinda look how i suspected but THAT ONE SCENE IN HIS ROOM...

I swear it was Andie's phone Pip and Ravi took. not Sal's???

Also im very mad that Pips dad doesnt call her pickle. LIKE WHAT KIND OF PET NAME IS CHICKEN??

ONE THING I REALLY LIKED was how they showed how slowly Pip was getting more broken. IM NOT SAYING THAT ITS GOOD THAT SHE WAS but like in the second book how Pip was slowly going insane and in the last one too, in the tv show they showed how slowly she was already starting to break. IT WAS JS SHOWN RLLY WELL IN THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS EMMA DID

Some interesting things I found in the code of Secrets of Legendaria (for the 3 fans of the actual game and not the TCG that still exist here)

I got a bit curious and started going through the game’s files, partially to see what went wrong and partially because I can’t stop thinking about how much wasted potential this game was (and a lot of Lionel Snill’s other games, for that matter)

Here’s a list of the most interesting stuff I found:

Moji doesn’t have an actual death animation for some reason, even though his death was kind of a defining moment in the plot as a massive change in tone. Either this was an oversight by the devs (unsurprising) or it was a really weird design choice.

Remember that disturbing, random secret you can find where you can buy the key to the smithy’s house only to find him dead? There’s actually some unused dialogue where he upgrades Lazarus’ sword. I have no idea why this could have been removed, since the sword upgrade as it is makes no sense as there’s no dialogue to explain it. This is also apparently where you were meant to get some of the correct answers for the Sphinx bossfight.

On a related note, that upgraded sword is referred to in the files as “Endervale Blade.” Could this be related to the Entervale bug where entering it as Chandrelle’s name freezes the game on a purple mist screen?

On yet another related note, there’s an unused map also titled Endervale, which also freezes the game on the purple mist when loaded.

The talking slime that refuses to fight you as you approach the dragon’s mountain actually does have code for a battle, but it’s not anything more interesting than the other slime fights earlier on.

Remember that theory that Jay from Vicious Galaxy is also the janitor in the temple in SoL because they look the same and he happens to have some silly meta dialogue about it? The janitor is referred to in the files as Jay, meaning that they might actually be the same character. Now, seeing as Lazarus and Moji Jr. also star in VG, it may very well be the case that SoL and VG take place in the same timeline. In this essay I will-

The Missingno enemy is not a bug, but a completely intentional easter egg. The weird game crash with it and the doppelgänger charm item was not intended, however.

Lazarus has a separate inventory, but we can’t access it normally within the game. The only time we get to interact with it is when Chandrelle gives him the locket half. It’s empty, save for the sword, though, so not much else to say about it.

The locket, on the other hand, is interesting. It has a description written in binary, but when translated it’s just nonsense letters. There is no second half of the locket.

The guard for the Sphinx’s boss room is named Jack, and he has an unused battle sprite for some reason. It’s really silly, actually; they just rip his door out and put it on the battlefield.

This one’s really weird: Chandrelle and Rebecha still have leftover code from when they were in Combat Arena X (I still can’t get over how SoL is technically a CA:X spinoff, it haunts me every day). This makes sense, they were probably just copy pasted over—but for some reason, in the buggy, unfinished, fog-hidden Kraken bossfight, Chandrelle’s fighting game functions get activated. This might be why you stop being able to use her moves in the middle of that fight.

Unfortunately, you can’t remove the fog from the Kraken bossfight, because it’s basically just a cutscene with buttons you can press that have no effect on the gameplay, as far as I can tell.

I would have loved to solve the mystery of the tiny hooded character who steers Chandrelle and Lazarus out of the fog, but they don’t actually appear in the files at all for some reason? If I had to guess, it’s probably Captain Barnay, recovered and wrapped in a cloak. He’s short because he’s hunched over and hurt, I would guess.

Finally, the matter of the ending, and perhaps the most annoying discovery of all: There’s an unused good ending in the game’s files, but no way to ever trigger it because it requires the old man to be in the temple before Vallamir. This can never happen in game, meaning there’s no way to actually seal Vallamir away at the end.

Now, that’s all that I, an amateur when it comes to this sort of thing, could find. If I missed anything or got something wrong, please be sure to let me know!

I do not know why I'm nervous to ask this But what do you think the hex Characters would be for Halloween.

Bryce - Someone suggests werewolf to him and he goes w/ it because he was struggling to come up with any other ideas. Not scary at all, basically just a big fluffy dog

Chandrelle - Realistically nothing but ideally, vampire or a classic witch costume. My explanation for this is because im gay

Rust - Doesnt really know what Halloween is and the group sucks at explaining it so hes kinda just got a mashup of a lotta things goin on. If i had to pick one thing tho, maybe a zombie bc thats a familiar concept to him probably

Lazarus - If hes low on energy, sheet ghost. If he actually has the energy to make a costume, headless horseman or something along those lines. Maybe a ghost knight as the in between option energy-wise

FPP - Grim reaper or plague doctor. Im basing this on vibes and also i think they'd want a mask

Sado - Some sort of popular fictional media serial killer of sorts. Not pennywise bc she knows thats way too predictable. Other option would be a devil costume

Reggie - A month old rotting corpse, fully realistic detail and everything. This man is SEVERELY fucked in the head and would think this is a very fun and innocent idea. He's gonna scare the shit out of someone

Jeremiah - Tried to do no costume, Reggie talked him into needing to do *something*. He just shittily put on some of Reggie's leftover makeup to match because he doesnt care to think up a proper idea

Irving - Also tried to go no costume but Lou installed a big ol halloween aesthetic into the gameworks database so Irving didnt get a choice. Also went with pirate because at least he could insist if asked that he was just wearing Captain Barnay's outfit because his usual uniform was in the wash (he doesnt need to do laundry)

Lou - Devil costume next question

Lionel - He probably insists hes too old to be dressing up for Halloween but inside he really wants to wear some sort of costume. Probably a character from a game he likes (cant do his favourite game unfortunately because. Well. That would be Cooking Granny and im sure you see the issue here)

Carla - Also a serial killer. Like creator like creation

Rebecha - Also a werewolf but in the extremely low effort way

Rocky - Also a mashup like his pops but its less because hes confused and more just because theres so many different things he wanted to go as that he picked all of them

Sexuality headcanon: considering that he's from a post apocalyptic world he doesn't really know what specific sexualities are called. i'd say he's bi with a male lean, maybe greyaro. he hasn't ever really thought too hard about it

Gender headcanon: schrodingers gender aka i see him both as cis and trans depending on the day. he doesn't know shit from fuck about gender labels

A ship I have with said character: i'm gonna be real you YES YOU DAKOTA have started to indoctrinate me into rust and bryce. they end up spending alot of time together just talking while bryce cooks/bakes. rust and captain barnay are a cute concept that a few friends have proposed!

A BROTP I have with said character: him and lazarus talk for hours and hours i think they develop a friendship. they've both gone through So Much Shit and support eachother through that. also i think him and rebecha should chill together

A NOTP I have with said character: N/A

A random headcanon: he's a rambler, and can talk for HOURS. the stories he tells are incredibly riveting though they go off in several different directions before he actually gets to the end of them. however if you can sit through that and not get confused they're thoroughly entertaining

General Opinion over said character: RUST OH MY GOD. YOU POOR GUY. ABSOLUTELY THE MOST TRAGIC CHARACTER IN THE ENTIRE GAME TO ME. deserves the world, i hope he can find peace one day. rocky isn't confirmed to have died and may just be out in the void, id like to write them reuniting eventually

Irving’s theme is so perfect for him and the fight with Chandrelle. It starts off by following the fantasy theme as he’s disguised as Captain Barnay, and then he suddenly reveals with himself which I think the song is supposed to symbolize as it takes on a more electric feel before suddenly calming down again as he’s forced to take his exit.

Recently I’ve been listening to the soundtrack for the game and it’s absolutely amazing. I’ve been thinking about doing some mini-analyses for some of the other songs I really like from The Hex
