I've seen (read) a lot of "Amir becomes a live wire when he's scared", and i love it.

But also! Consider the rest of the hex.

Someone wakes up Arthur from a nightmare and gets flashbanged.

Arthur has a panic attack and turns into an uncomfortably bright flickering candle.

Quincy has a panic attack and gets harder to see, like he's lowering his own opacity.

Eleanor has a really bad nightmare and just shoves it into everbody else's brain as well.

It's phisically uncomfortable to try to approach Lettie when she's scared, it feels like your organs might be failing and you're suddenly in pain.

Yall know what i mean.

1999 was an update.

something so sweet about 1999 that i've noticed and want to talk about is the "extraction ready" voicelines. and how the hex call it "going home." there's just something so special about that.

most extraction voicelines in the origin system are a simple "extraction is ready, time to leave" but there's such a comfort in the hex lines. like each time, they're relieved to go back because now they have a place to go, where they belong.

a home that includes you.
