Remember Me (Becca x MC)
So, weird story. I was randomly browsing tumblr one time when this ask pops out at the top of the screen (req about amnesia au Becca’s POV). It wasn’t even related to anything I was reading but checked my inbox and it wasn’t there. Most probably the ask isn’t for me but still wrote it just in case 😅
PS if someone DID send me this ask, kindly drop me a message just so I know I’m not seeing things 😭
PPS I’m trying out a new writing style and I’m not sure if it’s any good so I’d really appreciate any feedback 🥺 (this will be a mini series too, I think, since the angst potential is definitely there 😂)
PPPS title is inspired from the song in Coco just cause I’ve been playing it a lot on piano recently
tag list: @whackawriting @samanthadalton @crazzyplays @uselesslesbianfr @baexpoppy @alexroyard @alexlabhont @veenast @noixngn @sillyandcutewizardstuffs (If you wanna be added or removed or just prefer a certain ship just let me know ❤️)
Pairing: Becca x MC (Emily)
Word Count: 2090
I don't remember what happened, nor know where I am, but I hear shouting, lots of it. I try to move, but my body feels completely numb; the only thing I can feel is the trickle of liquid that splatters across my face. Rain? I open my eyes strenuously, but all I can see past my blurry vision are brown eyes glistening with tears. I can't quite make out her face, but for some reason, seeing her cry sends a flurry of emotions that hurt more than my throbbing head. I try to open my mouth, hoping to provide comfort somehow, but no words come out. She is saying something over and over again, something about leaving? But my head hurts too much to be able to comprehend. A siren then blares from a distance, growing louder by the second as flashes of red cloud my vision. And that is when everything turns black.
I slowly open my eyes–still reeling from the nightmare that somehow felt too real–and harsh, blinding lights immediately greet me. I hastily shut my eyes back and suddenly become well aware of the ache engulfing my entire body. It isn't before long that I realize that someone is holding my hand, tracing lazy circles against my skin ever so often. I try to move it but only manage to lift a finger, and at once, the grip tightens and becomes still for a moment before I hear a voice– How can a voice sound so familiar... yet so strange? It's saying my name, urgent and gentle at the same time as though I might break at any second. I try to open my eyes, but exhaustion grips me powerless. And soon, I succumb to its fiery grasp as I slip back into slumber.
When I wake up again, I already feel much stronger than before. The ache in my body has turned into a dull hum as if sharp nails are gently caressing my skin, enough to be felt but not to hurt. I look around the room, panic swelling in my chest as I take in the sight of different medical equipment looming around my bed and needles sticking out of my arm. I fight the urge to squirm as I take big, calming breaths, ignoring how the four white walls seem to close in on me. Thankfully, the door opens, and a nurse walks in, temporarily distracting me from my distress. She smiles upon seeing me awake and walks towards me.
"Welcome back, Ms. Davenport. How are you feeling?"
"W–where am I?" I ask weakly.
"In the hospital. A month ago, you were involved in a car crash, and your head was hurt pretty badly," the nurse says sympathetically. She is now taking my vitals, scribbling something on her chart from time to time.
Car crash?
I scrunch my eyes, trying to remember, but the harder I try, the more my head hurts.
"Wait. A month? Are you saying that I've been here... for a month?"
The nurse nods. "You've been unconscious the entire time. But your vitals now are looking good. The doctor will just run a few tests to make sure we don't miss anything."
I stay quiet for a while, my mind still processing everything the nurse just said, which has only raised new questions.
"Your friends and family were really worried about you, you know. There wasn't a day when you didn't have any visitors. Especially that special friend of yours you were in the car with." The nurse turns towards me, holding a pen against her chin. "What was her name? Em–Emma, I think? She barely left your side. She actually just went to grab some food before you woke up."
...I don't know any Emma, but I don't tell her that.
"What about my parents?"
"Your mom and sister usually visit during the evening."
"And my father?"
The nurse shakes her head. "I don't think I've ever seen your father."
The nurse leaves after a while, and the doctor comes inside the room shortly. I answer a few questions before I'm escorted outside to take some tests. Afterward, the nurse leads me back to my room and gently guides me to bed.
"Would you like me to call in your visitors?" the nurse asks.
I nod.
The nurse goes out, and soon my mom walks in followed by–
"Emily." I frown. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Both of them stop in their tracks. My mom looks at me in concern and confusion, while Emily looks like I just punched her in the gut.
Anger bubbles up inside me as a realization comes to mind. "Y–you. You're the one who did this, aren't you? You're the reason I'm here."
A guilty look flickers across her face, confirming my suspicions. And before I can stop myself, I shout at her to leave, but she stands there motionless, tears threatening to spill from her eyes.
"Go get the doctor," my mom tells her, which snaps her out of her shock. She scurries out of the room at the same time my mom starts walking towards me.
"Why is she here, Mom?"
My mom stops at the side of the bed and reaches out to stroke my hair. "Honey, the accident was not her fault."
"But she was there with me..."
"Yes."
"Why?"
My mom's hand goes still, resting on top of my head. "Becca, what was the last thing you remember?"
"I..." I close my eyes and think hard for a moment. "I–I remember hosting the Kappa party. But that doesn't make any sense. Why would I leave with Emily?"
A brief look of panic flashes across her eyes.
"Mom? What's wrong?"
My mom smiles at me, but it looks forced. "It's nothing, sweetie. The doctor will be here soon."
But I can see that she's trying her best to keep calm–the look on her face similar to when she would talk to my little sister and me right after we would hear her and dad fight.
The doctor comes in a little while later, asking a bunch of questions similar to my mom's. They then do more tests on me, and I grow scared by the minute, not understanding what the hell is going on. Eventually, I'm back in my room alone, my mom and the doctor staying outside to talk. After some time, they enter the room, and my mom sits beside me, taking my hand as the doctor walks towards the other side of the bed.
I look at my mom, drained from all the medical tests I went through the entire day. "What's happening, Mom? I'm scared."
My mom squeezes my hand and gives me a reassuring smile. "The doctor will explain it to you, sweetie. But I'll be right here the whole time." She then gives a single nod to the doctor.
The doctor smiles at me politely. "How are you feeling, Becca?"
I stare at him, suddenly annoyed at being asked the same question over and over again.
"Right then." The doctor clears his throat. "During the accident, your brain was affected more than we initially thought." He pauses, and I meet his gaze, willing him to go straight to the point. "It seems like you have retrograde amnesia, meaning that you have no memory of the past three years of your life."
The doctor goes on and on about the technicalities, but I'm not listening anymore. His voice is reduced to background noise as I repeat his words inside my head, trying to grasp the implications of what he just said. I prop myself up, looking wildly around the room, tugging at my shirt as if it would help me breathe. But it doesn't. My body feels numb, which is why I almost don't notice my mom pulling me into a tight hug, stroking my back comfortingly as she whispers reassurances. I focus on her voice, forcing myself to take deep breaths as I slowly begin to calm down. I pull away after some time, recomposing myself as I find my voice.
"Three years," I whisper.
"We'll help you recover your memories, honey. But for now, you can ask me anything you like."
"I–I think I just need some rest."
My mom nods, helping me settle back in bed before she leaves, promising to be back tomorrow.
Sleep comes easy to me, and I wake up the next day with Madison sitting at the chair next to my bed, browsing her phone.
"Hey, Maddie."
She looks up from her phone, a smile lighting up her face before she practically jumps out of her chair to hug me. "Becca!"
"Ow, that... kinda hurts."
When she pulls away from me, her eyes are teary.
"Sorry, I just missed you so much. You were gone for so long! I thought–"
"Hey, hey, none of that," I say, smiling at her.
She pulls the chair closer to my bed and sits down. "How are you, Becca? Your mom told me about your... condition."
I stare at the ceiling. "Yeah, it sucks." I snap my head back to her. "Tell me something. Do we still hang out a lot?"
"We still meet up from time to time. Not as much as we used to, though," Madison says, smiling sadly.
I nod. "Who do I usually hang out with now?"
"Emily."
I furrow my eyebrows. "Did we become close friends or something?"
"Oh, right. You've only been together for like two years," Madison murmurs contemplatively. "She's your girlfriend, Becca."
I let the information sink in. "You have got to be kidding me." I stare at her wide-eyed. "How–What–Why?"
Madison recounts our 'love story,' each detail more absurd than the last. I don't want to believe any of it, but Emily as my girlfriend... it actually explains everything. I rub my temples. How the hell did that happen? I remember like it was yesterday when she tried to steal Chris away from me. And now... and now...
"Maddie? Can you do me a favor and grab me something to eat? I'm starving."
Madison smiles. "Of course."
Madison goes out in a while, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
***
After a few more days of recovery, I am finally allowed to leave the hospital. Despite my protests, my mom explains that I will have to stay with Emily and her friends at what I assume has been my home for the past two years. She explains that she prefers for someone to look after me constantly, and she will not be able to do that with her job and all.
Outside the hospital, I find Emily waiting near a car; her eyes are bloodshot, as if she hasn't slept a wink in days. When she sees me approaching, her face immediately brightens up. Our gazes lock briefly before I turn back to my mom.
"Are you sure I can't stay with you?"
My mom smiles sadly. "I'm sorry, honey. I wish you could, but..."
"It's okay, I understand."
"Look, I know you don't remember, but these people you've been living with... they care about you very much.”
I nod.
My mom pulls me into a hug before guiding me inside the car, shutting the door afterward. She and Emily talk for a brief moment outside, and I watch as she hugs Emily before walking away. Emily steps into the passenger seat.
Zack, who is sitting in the driver's seat, turns around and smiles at me warmly. "I'm glad you're back."
I shift uncomfortably, ignoring his gaze. "Thanks."
We drive home silently, awkwardness saturating the car space. Upon arriving, I observe the details of the house, seeing if it sparks any memories... but nothing. I see Emily looking at me intently, probably thinking the same thing. They then lead me inside the house, and I step in hesitantly, taking in the surroundings, which vary immensely from the sorority house, the last place I lived based on my memories. Emily guides me to my room, lingering near me as I open the door.
"Becca–"
I turn towards her. "Please don't. I know you think I'm your girlfriend. A–and I guess I was. But as far as I remember, I don't like you at all. So I would appreciate it if you just leave me alone." I turn around and go inside my room, shutting the door behind me. I then lie on the bed, trying to forget how the light dimmed out of Emily's eyes as I broke her heart.

alpha/obi-wan, Mandalorian Empire AU? If you're interested
Alpha-17/Obi-Wan, Mandalorian Empire AU!
------
Jedi didn’t last long as Mandalorian prisoners--it was something they learned as Padawans, horrible stories filtering their ways down of just what had happened to this Knight or that Master captured on the field of battle. Jedi weren’t often Mandalorian prisoners, at least. Capturing a Jedi alive was hard to do.
Mostly, that was because the Mandalorians gave as good as they got, they wanted an epic battle against a trained Force user, wanted a fight to the death that could be glorious even if they didn’t win. Obi-Wan had known something was wrong the moment he faced down a group of Mandalorian supercommandos and they had their weapons set to stun. He'd almost gotten away, still. Then, because he worried they wanted some information out of him, almost fell on his own saber, but they'd gotten in closer enough to knock him unconscious despite all his tricks. Waking up on a surprisingly comfortable bed in a fairly large prison cell, Obi-Wan had spent the last few hours trying to figure out an escape route with the limited information he could glean. There were no other prisoners nearby, there were holorecorders at every possible angle, overlapping each other so there would be no blind spots. The vents were far too small for him. He was not restrained, but there was no way to turn off the forcefield keeping him locked in the room that he could find. It was a cell designed to keep a Force sensitive in for a long period of time. When noise finally picked up, he didn't bother acting casual, simply stood in the center of his cell and stared down the hallway as the door opened--and saw a mantrap, with doors clearly shut on the other side, meaning he'd have to get through both layers to get to whatever was beyond. Only one figure approached, in silver and blue armor and blue kama and cape. No weapons visible, not even the hidden sort that Obi-Wan had learned to look out for over the years. "While these are lovely accommodations, I really don't have time for a vacation." Despite the vocoder, he could hear a snort of amusement in answer to his words. "Always in a hurry, Obi-Wan." The voice wasn't familiar, not through the speaker, but something about the tone--and certainly the familiar address-was. "You seem to have me at a disadvantage...." he trailed off, leaving the space for the other's name. When the helmet came off, Obi-Wan had the briefest moment to think "oh," before the seriousness of the situation crashed down upon him. He'd never met the dead Mand'alor used as a template for the Fett clones, of course, but he had met some of the clones--a three-way battle with the Sith had gone badly and he'd found himself with a wounded Master quickly on her way to joining the Force and three supercommandos, two of which were clones. Knowing that the Mandalorians had cloned an old Mand'alor over a century ago and had kept up the process was not the same as actually meeting them. They weren't the current Mand'alor, but they looked nearly identical to him. Would always look identical to the Mand'alor, unless some major changed happened in Mandalorian politics. This one was Ta’raysh E’tad, Seventeen, though he'd been called Tar'etad by one of the others who had been too delirious from pain to keep formal before a Jedi. They'd allied, temporarily, and four weeks later separated when they could finally flee out of sight of the Sith. Obi-Wan had thought the incident forgotten (had assumed, sometimes, that Tar'etad would go the way of many of the other clones going through their trials for Mand'alor-ship and die in battle). He'd never expected to see the man again. "...I don't suppose you are here to release me? For old time's sake?" When Tar'etad waved a hand signal towards one of the holorecorders and the field between them cut out, Obi-Wan froze in place, putting on the best mask he could to hide his worry. "You...are?" Tar'etad smirked. "Of course, it wouldn't be right to have you locked away." "That doesn't sound the same as releasing me." Still, Obi-Wan took cautious steps forward until he was out of the cell, standing just before Tar'etad. Who stared at him as though soaking him in, before raising a hand to cup Obi-Wan's cheek, ignoring the shocked offense and rising blush he caused. "I thought of you, after those weeks. The pretty jetii who worked so well with us, fitting in like you'd been made to be in our unit." Obi-Wan shivered at the growing implications. "When I came to power...I knew what reward I wanted to give myself, for winning." His calm expression faltered. "...You're the new Mand'alor?" Tar'etad chuckled, hand moving from Obi-Wan's cheek to grip the back of his neck. "Don't worry, cyar'ika, I'm not expecting any formality in private." Flicking his eyes to the holorecorders, Obi-Wan replied, "And what exactly is it you're expecting from me?" He'd had to put down the other Jedi with him, to spare them a painful death, and then he'd spent four weeks with nothing but the Mandalorians as company. Watching each other's backs, hunting together, eventually trusting each other in some way. Intense emotions had accompanied it even for him, he couldn't imagine what Tar'etad must have been feeling, without the practice of acknowledging and releasing such things. That last night, drunk on the possibility of finally getting away from that Force forsaken planet, he'd let Tar'etad in far too close. Now, reminded of it, he could almost remember the feeling of those strong hands, those chapped lips. The offer for Obi-Wan to follow them back to the Mandalorian encampment instead of continue on alone to the Republic ships ringing in his ears once more. "I've followed your career. The jetiise keep trying to kill your spirit, but you're too mandokar for that." "Tar'etad--" "Do you know why I don't fear you running away if I don't keep you in that cell? We're in Keldabe, the heart of the Empire." Obi-Wan's heart sank at his matter-of-fact words. "By the time you figure your way out of here, you'll realize I was right all along, that you should have come with me." He barely registered when Tar'etad began to kiss him.

A Heart in Crisis
Summary: Angst, post Kara finding out the truth - The Monitor delivers a prophecy of Kara’s death, and Lena isn’t dealing so well.
The irony was almost poetic. Not long ago, Lena had lied to Kara about seeing apocalyptic visions in her dreams. Now, she was living that reality. Every time Lena closed her eyes, she saw her world die.
It started with the visions she’d seen before but didn’t truly understand at the time. Nanobots consuming Supergirl in Jack’s lab. Kara crashing into the ground, bloody and broken and a breath away from death after her fight with Reign. Kryptonite infecting her body from her toes to her eyelids as the very air poisoned her, lighting up her veins with sickness.
It only went downhill from there. Lena started dreaming about her own simulations, watching Kara die by her own hand. When she awoke she would run to the bathroom, emptying the contents of her stomach (which unfortunately did not include the crippling anxiety that seemed to find its home there). She had even shut Hope off entirely, dizziness overcoming her the second she heard that automated voice. Hope only ever inquired as to her well-being, but all Lena heard was a robot who had offered to kill Supergirl.
Finally came the images she’d never seen before. The Monitor with his hands around Kara’s neck. Anti-matter consuming only her, leaving the world untouched around it. And no matter which dream her mind chose from the lottery, it always ended with his voice.
“In order for billions to survive this coming crisis, Supergirl must die.”
That was the message the Monitor had brought. They had all stood frozen - Alex, Brainy, Jonn, Nia, and Lena, until Kara flew off into the sky, not willing (or able) to look or talk to any of them. It was Brainy who approached Lena, concern painting his features. She had not moved for ten minutes.
“I don’t think I have a big enough box for this,” she whispered to him. Brainy just stood awkwardly beside her, his own boxes not sturdy enough to stop the flow of tears. It’d been two weeks since that day, and they still hadn’t spoken. Whether it was because of Lena’s own lies or because of Kara’s impending doom - it did not matter. All that mattered was that each day was another day closer to reaching Kara’s fate, and every morning when Lena woke it was like a new setting had been added to her panic meter. Inside, Lena felt like there was a doomsday clock ticking on her heart. For whether they were best friends or worst enemies, that was exactly what Lena would lose.
Her sole focus became researching anti-matter. She’d never been a religious person, so as far as she was concerned, God and his prophecies could go fuck himself. Just because she wasn’t speaking with Kara didn’t mean she couldn’t help. Alex, while wearing a harsh scowl, gave her bits and pieces of information, but it made no difference. There was not enough time in the universe, apparently, for her to fix or even understand this problem. She stayed in the lab for three days, avoiding dreams and barely eating. When she practically collapsed on one of her test tubes, Lena knew it was time to go home. Without the strength to make it to her room, Lena collapsed on the couch with the sound of the television in the background to hopefully block her dreams. Her rest doesn’t last long. She wakes in a sweat, the Monitor’s words still echoing in her ears. However, it’s when she sees Supergirl on the television, battered and bruised from her latest battle, that all thought of sleep flies from her mind. First, she has to pinch herself, squeezing her eyes together to try and wake up once more. Kara has a single cut on her forehead from the battle, but Lena knows how the rest of the story will go. When the news story changes three minutes later, Lena cries with relief. However, her tears turn hot and angry quickly, and before she can change her mind Lena hits the S on her watch, right before throwing it against the wall. Somehow it still shocks her how fast Kara arrives, even after everything that transpired between them. With a whoosh and a thud, Kara barrels into the apartment, scanning the area for immediate danger before focusing on Lena. Behind the look of panic in Kara’s eyes, there is only exhaustion. It is the look of a woman whose mind and body have not stopped moving for days. Lena recognizes the image like it is an old friend. With one hand, Kara rubs the worry from her face, replacing it with exasperation.
“Lena, no matter what happens, I will always be here to help you. But the next time you hit that watch there better be a real--” The still bleeding cut on Kara’s forehead snaps Lena into action. “What the hell is wrong with you? Are you trying to get yourself killed?”
The words are unexpected, and Kara doesn’t have an immediate response for Lena. Instead, Kara’s face scrunches and she stares at Lena as if trying to see inside her mind. Considering the x-ray vision, Lena guesses that with the intensity of her gaze, that could be exactly what Kara is doing. Lena tries to remain as stoic as possible, pushing her anger to the forefront and allowing it to seep into each muscle to hide everything else she is feeling underneath. Seeming to give up on observing Lena, Kara sighs. “What do you want from me?” “For you to stop being a moron.”
“Which would include, what, exactly? For me to stop saving people? To run away from this Crisis?”
“To act like you don’t have a death wish!” “No! You don’t get to do that!” Kara bellows, edging closer with her finger pointing right between Lena’s chest. “You don’t get to worry about my fate when you’ve been killing me inside your head for months.”
One more thing Lena had to thank Leviathan for: knowing what happened inside her simulations and making sure to tell Kara. Lena’s heart winced, and as much as she wanted to unleash on Kara, to accuse her in return and make her hurt as badly as she was, Lena had no time to be distracted from the issue at hand. “Haven’t you ever heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy, Kara?” Kara turned to leave, exiting out the balcony door. “I don’t have time for this.”
Lena followed after her. “Croesus, the King of Lydia, asked the Oracle of Delphi in Greece if he should go to war with Persia. The oracle tells him that if he goes to war, he will destroy a great kingdom. So he does. But Croesus loses, and has to admit that it was his own empire he destroyed.” With a hand on the balcony’s edge, Kara faces Lena. “What’s your point, Lena?” “Believing that you are going to die might be the only reason you eventually do.” She throws the words into the air like punches. “The Monitor must know this and you are playing into his hands.”
There was no flicker in Kara’s eye that told Lena she was learning new information. In fact, the words seemed to bounce of Kara like they were bullets that had been shot at her a hundred times before. In front of Lena’s eyes, Kara transformed. The invulnerable hero deflated like a puppet whose strings had been dropped. “Whether that’s true or not,” Kara began softly. “If the Monitor knows what we must do to defeat this Crisis...then that’s what we must do.” Lena could feel an eruption rise inside of her. Of what, she couldn’t be certain. Anger, despair, sadness, desperation...she had been blocking her own emotions for a lifetime and could barely identify them anymore. That’s why Kara was different. For three years, she had made Lena feel every day, Lena being unable to build a wall strong enough to block out the girl of steel. Even after learning of Kara’s betrayal, Lena was helpless against the Kryptonian, and that absolutely terrified her. But not more than her dreams. And not more than the crestfallen look on Kara’s face.
“You’ve given up.” Kara clenched her fists. “We have to save the universe, Lena, no matter the cost.”
“You are my universe, Kara!” Without meaning to, Lena marches up to Kara, their faces inches away from each other. So close together, Lena could identify the wet blanket covering Kara’s eyes, though it becomes obscured when her own vision turns blurry. She ignores the tears, though it’s harder to ignore Kara’s sharp intake of breath or the newfound proximity of their bodies. She presses on regardless. “Why do you think I did it all? I was told that my entire universe was a lie. The very foundations of my life were taken from me. The one thing that made me believe in people, in goodness, in myself...” Lena trailed off, giving up on keeping her composure.
Kara’s lips began to quiver. “Why didn’t you just tell me that? Instead of pretending you were fine?” The words come out as a squeak, slipping between sobs. Lena scoffed, though it came out as more of a hiccup. “And have an honest conversation? How was I supposed to do that when we’ve never had one before?” Kara brings a hand up to Lena’s cheek, stroking away her tears with her thumb. Lena doesn’t have the energy to pull away, nor does she want to. The soft comfort in Kara’s eyes is like a gravitational pull, barely allowing Lena to blink. “I wish I had the time to apologize one thousand times over,” she begins, something laced in her tone that Lena does not have the capacity to hear. “If it took the rest of my life, I would spend every day trying to convince you how sorry I am. Call me an idealist, but, even if that life is cut much shorter than I thought it would be...I still hope I can.”
Every piece of armor fell from Lena’s body in a single breath. She raises her hand and places it over Kara’s, leaning her cheek against Kara’s palm. Her eyes shut as she tries to stop more tears from escaping, having lost enough over the past few months. “Please, Kara. Please, fight this.”
Kara presses her forehead to Lena’s. “I promise, I will always fight for you.” Kara kisses Lena so softly that it could almost have been mistaken for the wind. Lena can’t help but react immediately, pressing back harder and searching for more. She needs more. Time is ticking in her ear, the air getting thinner around her, and her breath dissipating from her lungs. But none of it matters if she can keep Kara on that balcony with her - not even the entire universe vanishing. But too much has happened. The mixed taste of tears on their lips remind them of everything that has transpired in the past months, the conversations they haven’t had, and the boxes Lena hasn’t opened. Kara pulls back first, their eyes meeting and glimmering with all those unspoken words. Lena swipes her finger slowly over the cut on Kara’s forehead, but the intimate gesture combined with longing stares becomes too much to bear for either of them. Without a word, Kara steps away. She keeps her gaze locked with Lena’s as she walks backward, one, two, then three steps. Lena becomes aware of nothing else in the world but the space between them. Somehow, even after the last few months, Kara had never seemed further away. “How could you think I would want you to die?” Lena rasps. Kara begins to float, hovering underneath dimmed stars. “It’d be easier if you did. I wouldn’t have to say goodbye.” In an instant, she vanishes, and Lena is left alone with her despair and the words that were left in the air unspoken.
I hope you enjoyed! I am so excited for Crisis - is it too much to ask for Kara to temporarily die and for Lena to be present? Maybe? Part 2

Space Lord 2
“So how are my two favorite humans doing?” Vag’ner clamped his hands down on Quill and Pryde’s shoulders, hopefully derailing their very public argument. The woman jumped and slipped away from his grasp (he still couldn’t figure out how she kept doing that) while Quill scowled at him.
“We’re the only humans you’ve ever met.”
“Not true! I happened to meet a Carol Danvers from Earth, traveling with an entire squadron of Skrulls.”
“Two out of three ain’t a-”
“Funny you should mention Captain Danvers. That’s actually what we were discussing right now,” Kitty interjected.
“Well, why don’t we sit down someplace in private and the two of you could tell me all about it.” Accepting the reprimand for what it was, the two Terrans let the senior Ravager captain manhandle them into a small room. Not exactly the most secure location but at least they weren’t arguing in front of an entire bar full of witnesses this time.
Kitty started them off. “First of all, how do you feel about the Kree?”
One dark eyebrow arched. “I was part of the team with Stakar Ogord that ravaged the Badoon Brotherhood slave traders 32~” Everyone’s translators made a scratchy noise before picking up again. “40 years ago. I’ve no fondness of the Kree, as Quill should have told you. Why?”
“Oh, um,” for some reason Kitty’s face turned reddish. “I just wanted to make sure you weren’t one.” He opened his mouth but she outran him. “You’re blue after all.”
“Quill, you’ve got a long way to go on this one. Yes, I’m blue. But first of all, not all Kree are blue-”
“She’s met Yon-Rogg,” stated Quill dryly.
“-and second not all blue races are Kree.” He nodded at the younger captain. “Quill’s sponsor, Yondu, is a Centurian and I’m a Bamf.”
Kitty nodded stiffly. “Okay. I didn’t know that before.” She shook her head. “Anyway, you said you met Danvers, right?”
“Right.”
“Did she tell you about how she got her powers?”
“Something about an exploded Light Speed Engine, powered by the Tesseract. She didn’t have either of those items on her and couldn’t tell me how to replicate them so I wasn’t very interested.” Suddenly the connection snapped in his brain. “Wait, do the Kree have another of those things?”
Quill and Kitty exchanged a glance, and she made a quick whirling gesture with her fingertips. Quill took up the narrative. “We don’t think so, at least not yet. But Kitty’s got a lead from God knows where-”
“I got it from Nick Fury in SHIELD.”
“That statement means nothing to me and Vag’ner. Anyway, she’s got a lead that Mar-Vell apparently didn’t manage to eliminate all of her fellow researchers before fleeing the Kree. It’s taken them a lot longer, but it looks like they’re on the verge of recreating the Light Speed Engine.’
While the Bamf contemplated the horror of the Kree gaining yet another superweapon, Kitty spoke again. “We know this one’s not powered by the Tesseract so it will probably be much weaker than Mar-Vell’s version.”
“But that’s still a lot of power.”
“Exactly.”
“Okay, I can agree that’s bad. But what were you two arguing about then?” Then it hit him. On one side, an empire that covered thousands of planets and had existed for just as many stellar cycles. On the other, one backward planet who’s dominant species hadn’t even left their solar system and one Ravager clan that had existed for less than a decade. “You need help and don't know who to ask.”
“I’ve already brought in the Nova Corps-”
“Without asking anyone. And I want to ask the Shi’ar. They’ve helped Earth, and especially the X-Men before.”
“The Shi’ar is still a violent, military expansive empire. I’d trust the upper echelons of the Nova Corps way more than I would the Shi’ar.”
“What makes you think the Corps won’t also-”
The blue man dropped his hands to crash upon the table. His companions stunned into silence, he took command of the conversation. “Well, you’ve got me now, and I’m sure I can match either of those parties. Grab the information you have and meet me on the Palatine in one-” Another scrambling noise from the translators. “-two hours.”
~~~~~~~
“I’ve been doing a lot of data mining. Tracking Kree convoys, checking where people have run into security perimeters, blocking out areas of suspected Kree activity.” Kitty had fumbled a bit with the Palatine’s projector screen at the beginning but got the hang of it quickly enough. “I knocked off any place that didn’t have the free space for a research lab or lacked the potential resources or supply chain to support one. I also removed any locations claimed and held by the other galactic powers, like the Shi’Ar or the Inhuman Alliance.”
“Makes sense,” noted Bloody Bess. “Those entities wouldn’t take kindly to the Kree trying to build a secret base in their territory, they’d already be on high alert to stop anything like that.” The meeting had been pared down to Vag’ner, Bess, Quill, and Pryde. Vag’ner’s crew trusted that he’d pass along anything that they needed to know. Quill, on the other hand, his crew was simply too small, everyone else was either spending time maintaining the ship or out picking up supplies.
“Anyway, I’d narrowed the list down to 30 possible coordinates-”
Quill interjected at this point. “Which is way too many for my crew to handle. Fortunately, about half the locations were either official Kree outposts or disputed territory where the Nova Corps patrol. So I turned over that list to them and they’re checking those places out.”
“So that’s what the two of you were fighting about.” The Bamf rested his chin on his hands, blocking some of the projector lights on the table.
Pryde shot a glare at her captain. “Yes. I think that was premature. With just a bit more information, I think I could have narrowed the list even further and not had to bring the Nova Corps into this mission until the end.” Vag’ner made note of the terminology the translator used. Mission implied that Kitty was working under conflicting loyalties because there’s no way Quill would have considered this a mission. Adventure maybe.
Shaking his head, Vag’ner continued. “15 sites are still too many for you to investigate.”
The other captain nodded. “The other half of the argument.”
Bess was scrolling through the list. “Hey, this one’s near Contraxia. And that one’s near Knowhere. I recognize a few others too.” She looked up. “The Nova Corps might not have access to these places, but they’re in Ravager territory.”
“How many?”
A few quick flicks of her hand. “10. The rest appear to be in the middle of nowhere, literally nowhere, not the city, space.”
“Hmm. The Milano should be able to handle 5 locations by itself. My crew will check out these 10 or contact other clans in those areas and ask if they’ve seen any unusual Kree activity.”
The female Terran smiled, her eyes widening a little and a slight flush coming to her face. “Oh, that would be-”
“Wait,” Quill clamped a hand over her shoulder. “How much is this going to cost us?”
Vag’ner shook his head, dismayed again at how badly Yondu had trained this one. “We’re Ravagers, Quill. We don’t betray each other.”
Blue eyes narrowed a bit. “I was raised as a Ravager, Captain. Ravagers won’t do anything without payment.”
“What if I said I wanted all the equipment and supplies from the base as my payment?”
“I’d say Ravagers don’t do things on credit either.”
“Fine,” Vag’ner sighed, a touch louder than he would have if he’d been sincere. “You said you had contacts with the Nova Corps? There are a few minor . . . charges that I’d like to be pardoned on.”
Both Quill and Pryde did that human thing where half their face seemed to shift upwards while the rest of it stayed in place. He always found the effect rather charming and was practicing to duplicate it himself. “Are you seriously telling me there are some felonies you don’t want to receive credit and acclaim on?” The Terran’s voice was incredibly even.
“Oh, I have no problem accepting blame when I’ve committed the crime. However, my crew and mys-” Fritzing translator again. “My clan and I aren’t responsible for these particular atrocities, and in fact, I’m rather offended that people still believe we’re behind them. It’s one thing to be known as a bold and creative pirate, it’s quite another to be considered an indiscriminate murderer.”
The two Terrans turned to each other. A bit more silent communication through eyebrow wiggling and Quill turned back to him while Pryde gathered up her data. “Alright then, give me a list of the charges you want pardons on and any proof you have about your innocence.”
~~~~~~~
Vag’ner wouldn’t say he lives for fighting, but moments like these definitely go in the ‘fond memories’ category. His crew is mostly concerned with hauling the equipment onto the Palatine but he’s chasing down the last two scientists. He’s got them cornered when the lights start flashing and a siren starts screaming. Tapping his communicator, he barks out, “Report!”
Pryde’s breathless voice answers. “Quill set off the alarms; hit a button he shouldn’t have. You done with everything?”
“Almost. Everyone’s off the station and almost back to the ship. Just got a few loose ends to pick up.” It’s the work of seconds to exchange one of his swords for his blaster and two quick headshots to dispose of the scientists. “Where are the two of you?”
“Sub-level . . . 3?” she pants. A voice in the background. “Oh, you’re right, 2. We’re on Sub-level 2.”
He’s at the stairs when he starts encountering them. Scaly and tunicate and twice as big as he is, clearly something engineered rather than evolved. He sheathed his second sword and sticks to the blaster. A quick glance shows that Quill and Pryde are almost there, but Quill’s right arm is hanging useless and he’s favoring his left leg. Pryde’s just barely keeping the creatures off with Quill’s blaster, but it’s pretty clear she doesn’t really know how to use it. Vag’ner whistles to attract everything’s attention then starts firing away. When they reach the foot of the stairs, he grabs both of them and teleports them to the top, not trusting that ‘StarLord’ will be able to manage them in his condition. They both turn an interesting shade of green but neither of them throws up, moving his respect for the Terrans up a notch. “You got what you came for?” he asks as they make their way to the Milano.
Pryde shakes her head. “Not exactly. We weren’t able to destroy the Engine, so I’m just going to throw the whole station into the sun-”
“The what?”
“The system’s primary star. This station isn’t in a stable orbit; they wanted to take advantage of solar flares. Pete and I set the outer thrusters on full blast, If I have the Milano fire on the inner thrusters as well, the whole thing will propel itself straight in.”
Vag’ner hums. He hadn’t actually seen the Engine while on-board so for all he knew, the thing was integrated throughout the entire thing. “How long will that take?”
She glanced up at him and he resisted the urge to clean the streak of soot on her cheek. There’d be time enough to expend the last of his battle-lust later. “No more than a few hours. You sticking around to watch?”
“Never trust that someone’s dead unless you’ve seen the body in person. I guess making sure it really does get incinerated is the station equivalent.” He looks around. “You keep a medic pack on this hunk of junk? I’ll handle Quill’s injuries first and then yours. Assuming I’m not missing any fatal injuries of yours?”
“Just bumps and bruises.” They reached the gangway of the Milano and Drax sealed the ship even as Rocket started to pull away from the dock.

Cotton Candy
genre: fluff, slight angst, slight smut, werewolf!jungkook x witch!reader
pairing: jungkook x reader
word count: 9.7k+
warning: sexual content
summary: your lure for fairies turned out to be a soulmate potion and you accidentally used it on a werewolf.
author’s note: hello everyone! I’m a new bts writer. This is my first story here and I’m sorry if this sucks. It’s my first attempt of writing smut, so this will probably be my first and last smut fic lol bcs it’s very hard to write and I’m totally not satisfied with it. This is inspired by Harry Potter’s amortentia. Enjoy!
The woods was incredibly dark that night, but that didn’t stop you from going deeper into the forest, alone. The trees around and overhead were so thick that the light from the full moon above was completely blocked. It might be unnerving for the first time, however, since you’d been through this over and over again for a couple dozen times, you’d kind of got used to it. The darkness or the quietness didn’t scare you anymore, thanks to your final project.
As a senior-year student majoring in potions at Art of Witchcraft University, you were faced with final project which required you to create your own potion that no one had ever made before. After so many failed attempts, you were certain that this time you would succeed. Overflowed with confidence, you picked a location that seemed like a comfortable hiding place for magical creatures - lush area close to the lake - and took out a spray bottle filled with light pink liquid. You sprayed your scented potion to everywhere around you and chanted the spell, hoping that some fairies would be lured into you. That’s what the purpose of the potion afterall: to lure fairies out of their hiding, which would help other wizards and witches to gather fairy dust from them.
So, when a half-naked man in nothing but a pair of worn out pants came out instead of fairies, you were completely caught off guard.
Your free hand reached your bag to take out your wand just in case. You stiffened, your eyes weren’t leaving him, watching his every movement. Whoever - or whatever - this man was, he’s creeping you out.
It was too dark so you couldn’t see well. But when he was only a few meters away from you and the moonlight found its way to his face, you finally got a clear view of the stranger. Your eyes met his. He seemed distraught, confused, as he kept walking towards you like he was entranced. However, you knew how fairies looked like, and obviously they didn’t look like him.
“Cotton candy,” he suddenly said, causing you to nearly throw your spray bottle at him out of surprise.
Though alarmed, you couldn’t help but say, “Excuse me?”
He took a step forward again, closing the gap between the two of you. You moved away from him until you were backed against a tree. He finally stopped advancing towards you when you pointed your wand at his face. You two were only half a meter apart now and the short distance enabled you to see him much clearer.
You’d been overly cautious because you’d thought he was a magical creature. But seeing his chiseled jaw, round eyes, and plump lips made you doubt yourself. He looked exactly like a human. He’s just like you.
“You smell like cotton candy,” he spoke again, his eyes still fixated on yours.
“What?” you said in disbelief. You weren’t wearing cotton candy perfume - you weren’t wearing any perfumes at all. Your scented potion did smell sweet, but it surely didn’t smell like cotton candy; your favorite scent was cotton candy, so you’d been trying to make your potion smell like one, but you never succeeded. Hence, there’s no way you would smell like cotton candy.
“What have you done to me?” His voice was low, almost like a whisper. He was holding your gaze, staring into your eyes with what seemed like adoration, refusing to look away. Which was weird since you saw each other for the first time today. So you looked away first before it became too awkward.
You had no idea what he’s talking about, but you were slightly offended that he accused you of doing something to him. “I’ve never seen you before, so obviously, I didn’t and I couldn’t do anything to you.”
“Then why do I desperately want to find you?” He stepped towards you again and you held up your wand higher as a warning. “Why is the only thing I can smell is you?” Your wand was touching his cheek by now but he didn’t care one bit. “Why can’t I look away from you?” He gently pushed the wand down, so your wand-holding hand dropped to your side. “Why is my heart beating so fast around you?” He placed both of his hands on the tree, trapping you. “Why do I want to kiss you so bad?” At this point, your heart started pounding against your rib cage due to the proximity and you gulped nervously. He was so close that you could feel his breath brushing your cheeks. “Why is it so hard for me to hold myself back from telling you ‘I love you’?”
The seriousness in his face prevented you from considering him as a dangerous freak and running for your life. The eyes that were gazing into your eyes lovingly hadn’t looked away at all since he first found you. Something in the tone of his voice told you that he was sincere. All the things he’d said were most likely true.
“Y-you’re in love with me?” Your voice was barely audible. You kept shaking your head in disbelief, laughing at the ridiculous situation you were in. “That’s not possible. I don’t even know you. I doubt you know me either.”
You didn’t believe in love at first sight. And this was on another level of bullshit. He’d indicated that he’d been attracted to you before he even found you. That could only happen if he was under the influence of love potion and of course, you didn’t give him one.
Wait. Love potion?
He exhaled impatiently and leant his face forward, demanding explanation. “Well, I don’t know. You’re the witch. You tell me.”
You’d sprayed your newly made potion minutes ago and until now, there were no fairies showing themselves, which could mean that your potion was not yet perfect. If it wasn’t a potion to lure fairies, then what potion was that? Was your potion the one affecting the man in front of you? What if it accidentally turned out to be some kind of love potion? And that guy was hanging around too close?
Your brows furrowed as you tried to figure out every possibility. You had never made love potion, so you didn’t know the ingredients and the know-how. Besides, there’s no need to, your lecturer had made it clear that love potion was off-limits. He was strongly against the idea of making love potion to get other’s heart. And then suddenly, you were reminded of the potion-brewing session earlier this afternoon at the uni’s lab with Yoora, your best friend.
“God!” Yoora walked over to you from her table, sniffing the light pink liquid in your cauldron. “It smells so good! Are you trying to make me fall in love with you?”
“Shut up,” you muttered distractedly, focusing on stirring your potion instead.
It was nearly done and you couldn’t wait to test it out in the woods. If you worked fast enough, it would be done in a couple of hours and you would be able to try it tonight. The excitement filled you as you pictured the fairies swarming towards you once you sprayed the potion. The thought of graduation brought a smile to your face. You wanted to be a certified potions master and open your own potions shop; it had been your dream since you’d been saved by a healing potion when you’d gotten badly injured at eight in a car crash. So first, you needed to graduate.
“But it’s working!” Yoora dramatically placed her hand on her chest where her heart was. “I’m in love.”
You only rolled your eyes at her silly remark and proceeded to finish your potion. Pissed at your lack of response, Yoora snatched the wooden ladle from your hand to draw your attention to her. You glared at her when she brought the ladle closer to take another whiff on the liquid.
“Seriously, Yoora?” You sighed in exasperation. “Since when did you like vanilla scent so much?”
Yoora raised a brow, a puzzled look on her face. “What are you talking about? This smells exactly like my boyfriend’s favorite cologne - mint.”
You gasped as you snapped back to reality. The realization struck you hard. This couldn’t be a coincidence. Her boyfriend’s favorite scent was mint and the potion smelled like mint to her. Your favorite scent was cotton candy and the stranger in front of you had said you, who had been around the potion all day, smelled like cotton candy.
Oh fuck.
“What’s wrong?” he asked you, his eyes full with worry. You had winced when the realization had just sunk in and apparently, he must have thought you got hurt or something. Now you believed that what you’d made was most likely a love potion, quite a strong one.
And you just had to make sure. “Uh… What’s your name?”
“Jungkook,” he answered.
“Well, Jungkook.” You saw him flinch when you said his name. “Do you like the vanilla scent?”
Wide eyed with surprise, Jungkook breathed out, “How did you know?”
“Oh God.” You closed your eyes, trying to understand how your potion worked. It smelled like vanilla to you, just like Jungkook’s favorite scent. This new piece of information certainly made it more complicated. Did that mean, according to the potion, Jungkook was supposed to be the guy you loved? But you’re obviously not; you’re in love with someone else, your classmate, but he hated vanilla - you’d seen him cringe when someone spray a vanilla scented air freshener. So clearly, all of this didn’t make sense.
“What is it?” Jungkook demanded, his eyes searching yours.
You opened your mouth and closed it again. You hesitated, worried that he would sue you or worse if he knew what you’d done to him. Not everyone would be delighted knowing they were under the love potion’s influence. Fortunately, someone invented an antidote to love potion, so you could just give him an antidote and he would be back to normal without having to know about it.
“Actually…” you paused to laugh awkwardly. “It’s a long story. I messed up, but there’s no need to worry. I’ll definitely figure something out. Just give me time.” The explanation was vague, but it’s not a lie, so it’s good for now. “See you later.”
“Wait!” Jungkook stopped you, looking horrified. “You’re leaving?”
“Well, it’s late. I’m going home. You should too. I promise I’ll do something about this.” You gestured towards yourself and him. You started to walk when he spoke again.
“How am I supposed to let you go when my inner wolf insists that you’re my mate?” Jungkook shouted, his tone desperate. Seeing you leave must be torturing him. Then his voice broke. “Don’t leave me.”
Feeling utterly guilty, you rushed back to Jungkook’s side. You saw his face light up in relief as he lifted his hand to reach you, but he immediately dropped it down, assumedly holding himself back from touching you.
“Alright, alright. I’m here,” you quickly said to reassure him. He looked like he’s in a lot of pain and the guilt crept into you. Whatever potion you’d made, it was nothing like the other love potions you’d known. It was stronger and a lot more real.
“You can hold my hand, if that can make you feel better.” You offered your hand sheepishly. You couldn’t believe yourself for allowing him to hold your hand when you’d just met him a few minutes ago.
Jungkook slowly brought his hand to yours and intertwined your fingers. A sigh escaped his lips. “Thanks. This really is a lot better.” He glanced at your eyes, looked away, and met your gaze again. “Can I stay with you?” He then added hastily, “I’ll sleep outside your house. I won’t disturb you or anything. I just can’t imagine being apart from you.”
You pondered Jungkook’s request for a while and you recalled his remark earlier. “You’re not a human, right?”
He nodded. “Werewolf.”
“And you mentioned something about mate. Did you mean soulmate?” The potion was certainly not a regular love potion. It was something more.
He nodded again. “Werewolves take soulmates very seriously.”
“You said I’m your soulmate.”
“Yes.” Jungkook tilted his head slightly. “It’s weird, though. Normally, we have to make eye contact first before knowing whether they’re our soulmates or not. But this time is different. I know - my inner wolf knows - that you’re my soulmate before I even met you.”
Shit. It’s a soulmate potion.
You ended up taking Jungkook home with you that night, walking hand in hand all the way back to your small house from the woods. Luckily, you lived alone, if not, it’d be a hell lot more complicated. He kept his promise and didn’t enter the house when you arrived. You felt bad at him, but you didn’t exactly want a stranger to sleep under the same roof as yours, so you let him stay outside.
The next morning, Jungkook followed you to the university, but he didn’t walk through the gate. He just stood right outside the entrance, saying that he would wait for you to finish your classes. As soon as you entered the class you had with Yoora, you explained everything to her and told her your suspicion that it was a soulmate potion. She quickly called her boyfriend to take a sniff of your potion and tell her what it smells like. Your suspicion was totally correct.
Her boyfriend, Jimin, said it smelled like coffee. And Yoora drank coffee like water. But the most important thing was: Jimin was also a werewolf and she was his soulmate.
You’d heard of love potion antidote before, but no one had ever talked about soulmate potion, not that you knew of. So, you and Yoora decided to go to the public library in the weekend to find clues about this soulmate potion; you didn’t want to risk losing your chance to get good marks by asking your potions lecturer.
“Don’t be too hard on him, okay?” Jimin advised as you’re about to head out of the lab. “Wolves are possessive, overprotective and craving for physical affection, especially after finding their soulmates. So, he can’t help it. Trust me, I know the feelings. I almost died when we got into a fight.”
Jimin flung an arm around Yoora’s shoulders and pulled her close to him, planting a kiss on her cheek. Yoora giggled and buried her face in his neck. Watching the two of them being a lovey-dovey couple made you envious. You glanced at the table in the corner of the lab, where the guy you’d been crushing on since the freshman year was.
Taehyung was the smartest guy in your year and probably, he didn’t even know you existed. Well, you hadn’t actually tried to talk to him, though. You preferred being holed up alone in the library over hanging out in house parties. And Taehyung was like everyone’s friends. There’s no way you two would match. So you kind of gave up before even trying, forcing yourself to be content with only watching him from afar.
“Oh and don’t forget the heat too,” Jimin said again, distracting you from Taehyung.
“God, your heat last time was intense,” Yoora groaned, reminiscing the past. “I couldn’t walk for days!”
“Days?” You widened your eyes in surprise. Just how severe this heat was? You’d briefly read somewhere about wolves’ heat. But you’d never known exactly what happened during the cycle.
“The heat can last for three to seven days, or more. It’s different everytime. But during those days, we get this very strong desire to mate. Yoora helped me get through it a lot, though.” Jimin wiggled his eyebrows at Yoora. She gave him a light smack on his back.
“So what should I do if he’s in heat?” you asked, slightly terrified imagining you had to face a wolf in heat. You knew they could hardly control themselves during the cycle.
“Depends,” Jimin said. “He won’t want any other girls besides you, now that he knows you’re his mate. It’s up to you to tie him up or help him go through it.” He smirked. “For your information, a wolf in heat can fuck you good.”
“Shut up,” you and Yoora said in unison.
Although it was as expected, you were still stunned to find Jungkook was right where you left him. Instead of tired and annoyed from having to wait for you all day, he seemed happy to see you. The guilt gnawed at your stomach, moreover after listening to Jimin’s explanation about werewolves.
The least you could do was help him ease his pain. “Hey, want to hold hands?” you offered your hand.
Jungkook took your hand in his immediately, as if afraid you would change your mind. “How’s school?”
“Fine,” you said curtly. But seeing the slightest hint of hurt expression on his face, you quickly spoke again, “How about you? Don’t you have to go to school or something?”
He smiled weakly. “No. I left my pack after graduating high school. So I have no one to pay for my studies. My pack is the only family I have.”
You hesitated to ask him more about his pack, since it was too personal. But thanks to the damn soulmate potion, you were his soulmate now, which meant you were in personal relationships with him, so you might as well ask. “Why did you leave?”
He sighed, talking about his pack must have pained him. You wondered whether you should stop asking. “There can’t be two alphas in one pack. There would be a lot of clashes and disagreements.”
“You’re an alpha?”
“Yeah. I realized that when I was in my senior year of high school. I started rebelling then and when I shouldn’t have been able to refuse following the alpha’s order, I could. That’s how I know I’m on the same level as him. Things have gone awry since then and I figured out, two alphas in one pack won’t work. So I left.”
You squeezed his hand a little to comfort him. It must have been hard for him to leave his family. He’s just a young boy. “Do you miss them?”
“A lot.” Jungkook squeezed your hand back, appreciating your concern.
Jungkook let go of your hand once you arrived at your house. He automatically sat on the floor near the door and leant his back against the wall. The awful feeling gradually seeped into you. The only things you had done to him was take him for a walk, make him wait for you, hold his hands, and let him sleep outside your house. You only started talking to him a few minutes ago. What did you think he was? Your pet? This whole thing was your fault. He didn’t deserve to be treated like this.
Don’t be too hard on him, okay? You could hear Jimin’s voice in your head.
“Jungkook?” You saw Jungkook flinch again at your mention of his name. “Do you want to come inside and drink a cup of tea with me or something?”
“Are you sure?” Jungkook jumped to his feet instantly and looked at you with excitement. Then he probably realized he was overly excited, so he scratched the back of his head sheepishly. “Coffee maybe?” he added hesitantly.
You laughed at his cuteness. “Alright, coffee it is.”
You spent all day at home with Jungkook, talking about yourselves to get to know each other. He turned out to be a very fun person. And he’s also adorable, especially the way he asked for more cups of coffee with the excuse that it’d been a long time since he last drank coffee. He was able to keep you interested with everything he’s said. You admitted that you enjoyed his company.
When night fell, you stopped Jungkook from going outside to sleep and told him that he could take the couch. He didn’t stop smiling while you were arranging the pillow and blanket on the couch for him to sleep with.
“Good night,” you said, walking to your room.
“Good night, Y/N,” Jungkook said instantly. “I love you.”
You were so taken aback with the unexpected confession that you stopped dead in your tracks.
“I’m really sorry, Y/N,” Jungkook said quickly in panic after realizing what he’d just said. “It slipped out of my mouth. I promise I won’t say it again to you if you’re uncomfortable. I just had the urge and needed to get it out of my chest.”
“It’s fine. Don’t worry,” you said, smiling to him. You actually didn’t mind the confession at all. Knowing that someone loved you made you happy. You were just caught off guard because you didn’t expect it. “Thank you. For loving me.”
His smile reached his eyes. “Can I say it to you everyday?”
“If it helps,” you muttered shyly and rushed back to your room, cheeks flushing a rosy pink in embarrassment. You couldn’t believe what you’d just said, but the thought of it sent butterflies to your stomach.
Staying together with Jungkook was not bad. It was nice, to be honest. You and him clicked with one another almost immediately. You’d been living alone for years, so you really appreciated a company. Doing everything with him was a lot more fun. You both took turns in cooking; he was unexpectedly good at cooking despite living in the woods alone for so long. To help paying household expenses, he transformed into a wolf to go hunting while you were in classes and sold the animals he’d hunted to the market. After hunting, he would wait for you in front of your uni to pick you up when you’re done. Then you two would have dinner together and drink coffee while telling each other about your day. Sometimes, both of you would share the couch and watch TV instead, huddled up under his blanket.
Jungkook never failed to say “I love you” every night before you slept.
Although, the fact that all the sweet things he did for you were because of the potion gradually started weighing on your mind.
“Are you sure you still want to make this soulmate potion antidote?” Yoora asked you one day in the library when she saw you smiling at the text you got from Jungkook. You both were searching for the soulmate antidote recipe. “You look happy with him.”
Your face fell at Yoora’s question. You indeed liked being with Jungkook. “But this is all not real, Yoora. I made him think I’m his soulmate with that stupid potion. This is unfair. I can’t do that to him.” You needed to make the antidote faster. You couldn’t make him live under the influence of the potion forever. But the thought that he would no longer love you after drinking the antidote made you feel dejected.
Yoora sighed. “You have a point. If he knows his love for you is because of a damn soulmate potion, he will be very disappointed.”
Nodding, you started reading another book on the table. “That’s why we need to hurry up. Preferably, before his heat starts.”
There was a long silence before Yoora said, “Have you considered telling him the truth? Who knows he might be totally fine with it.”
You scoffed at how ridiculous Yoora’s suggestion sounded. “Would you be fine if I give Jimin this soulmate potion and he’s in love with me instead? Would Jimin be fine?”
“Okay. Forget I asked.”
“Speaking of Jimin, where’s he?” It’s weird to see Yoora alone. Jimin would usually be around, stuck to her like glue.
“It’s pack day.” Yoora elaborated when you only gaped at her, “It’s a day to spend time with the pack. Bonding and such. Oh, and do you know that Taehyung is in Jimin’s pack too?”
You nearly choke on your saliva. Just how many werewolves were there living so close to you? You thought at least Jimin was the only one in your uni. “Taehyung is a werewolf?”
“What?” Yoora’s voice went louder out of shock; the librarian shushed her, giving her a warning glare. She muttered an apology to everyone before whispering to you, “I can’t believe it! I know you’d never talked to him, but come on! You’ve been smitten with him since forever! You should’ve at least known what he is!”
“Well, I’m sorry for being too ignorant,” you grumbled, embarrassed that Yoora had to remind you about your crush on Taehyung which was totally one-sided.
Yoora huffed, irritated with your shyness. “That’s it! I’m going to set you two up on a date!”
You grabbed Yoora’s wrist in panic. Your heart wouldn’t be able to handle it and you would just end up embarrassing yourself if you were alone with Taehyung. “Don’t!”
Rolling her eyes, she said, “It’s just a date, Y/N. You two need to talk already. You’ve been staring at him a lot. And if you don’t want him to think you’re creepy, you should start talking.”
“Am I that obvious?” You gulped nervously, taking a quick glance at Taehyung. He didn’t seem to notice you’d been staring. He’s always surrounded by his group of friends. There’s no way he would pay attention to you.
Yoora hummed as an answer.
“But how about-?”
“The victim of your soulmate potion?” Yoora finished your question for you; you winced at how she called Jungkook. “He’ll be fine. We just need to make this antidote as soon as possible, then he will not care about you at all.”
Somehow, you felt a pang of pain at the thought of that.
It was odd to see Jungkook sitting on the porch outside of your house, leaning against the wall, when he had the key. He could just go inside, why would he stay outside? You realized something was wrong with him when you got close enough. He was trembling, hugging his legs to his chest, burying his face into his knees.
Worried, you rushed to Jungkook’s side. “Jungkook, are you okay?”
Jungkook flinched as you called his name, something he always did that you didn’t understand. “Don’t call my name,” he croaked out.
“Let’s get you inside,” you said and grabbed his arm, but you retracted your hand right away. “You’re burning hot! Are you sick? I’m calling the doctor.”
Jungkook jumped to his feet to stopped you from reaching your phone. “No, I’m not sick. It’s just…” When you looked at him, he awkwardly covered his crotch with his hands. That’s when realization hit you.
Cheeks reddening, you looked away hastily, almost spraining your neck in the process. “Oh God! I’m so sorry. It’s your heat, right?”
From the corner of your eyes, you could see Jungkook nodding sheepishly. He looked constipated and pale, drenched in sweat. His body was shaking and his fists were tightly clenched. He’s doing his best to hold back his desire for your sake. He seemed barely in control of himself, but he’s holding on. It looked awfully painful.
“Is there something I can do to help?” you asked, feeling bad to see him suffer since mostly, it’s all because of you. This was something you’d been afraid of from the start. You had no idea what to do.
“I’m fine,” he said through gritted teeth. You were totally unconvinced. He didn’t look fine at all to you. “Just stay away from me.”
“But, Jungkook-”
Jungkook cut you off by letting out a sound which sounded like a moan, causing you to freeze. His breath was uneven. He was practically panting by now. You felt hot all over.
“Stop calling my name, please,” he pleaded.
“W-why?”
“It arouses me,” Jungkook said breathily and your own breath hitched. “I don’t think I’ll be able to control myself if you keep doing that.”
Completely speechless, you only managed to let out a short, “Alright.” before scurrying back into the house, unable to handle the heat that started pooling deep in your stomach. You’d never thought Jungkook could affect you like this. So you hid under the blanket in your room and tried to get his moan out of your head by forcing yourself to sleep.
However, you were woken up from your nap by the sound of knocking on your door. You reluctantly left your bed to open the door, completely forgetting there was only a wolf in heat that could enter and exit your house freely. Gasping out of shock, you quickly closed the door in reflex, but Jungkook blocked it before you could. Your heart pounded hard at the sight of him about to enter your room with eyes full of lust. Part of you wanted to let him in, but the other part of you insisted that this was a bad idea.
“I’m only going to use the bathroom,” Jungkook said in a hurry to reassure you. “I badly need to jack off. Don’t mind me.”
Oh. Of course. He’d been hard all day. It must be painful to hold it in the whole time. It wouldn’t do you much harm to just let him do his thing, right?
“O-okay,” you stuttered, stepping back to invite him in.
Jungkook bolted to the bathroom like his life depended on it. You could hear him unzip his pants and sigh in relief as he got inside. You’d been right. This was a very bad idea. The walls were really thin and you could hear everything from where you were standing right now. It certainly didn’t help you get over the dirty thoughts of him when you could hear him moaning your name right behind that door. He was jerking off to thoughts of you.
Unconsciously, you started rubbing your thighs together uncomfortably, desperate to pleasure yourself. His moans made you wet your underwear. If you opened the door, you could see him, probably naked or half naked, doing himself. You could just offer to help him and you could-
No. You shook your head hard to get rid of the thoughts. This isn’t right.
Plugging your ears with earphones and turning on the music loudly in a desperate attempt to drown out Jungkook’s voice, you jumped into your bed and covered your head with your blanket. Thanks to him, you ended up being sexually frustrated. And it didn’t happen only once. Jungkook occasionally borrowed the bathroom a few times a day, which got more frequently as he approached the end of his heat cycle; it’s so often that he basically lived there. You called Yoora on the third day of his heat to tell her how this was killing you too, but she only laughed it off.
“Just suck him off once and you’ll feel better. I promise,” Yoora said over the phone.
“You’re not helping,” you muttered and you heard Jungkook groan again from your bathroom. “Fuck, he’s at it again. Just how many times he’s going to get off today? I can’t even go to the bathroom now!”
Yoora laughed loudly. “He’s getting desperate to fuck you. I’m impressed he hasn’t touched you at all in three days. That kid has an amazing self-control. You would have already been screwed if it’s a guy like Jimin. That guy has no self-control honestly. He fucks like he breathes.”
Then you heard Jimin’s laughter on the other end of the line. “You’re with Jimin now?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Can you pass the phone to him?”
“What is it, Y/N?” Jimin spoke to the phone.
You glanced at your bathroom where you could hear Jungkook breathing heavily behind the walls. This time, he screamed your name like he didn’t care whether he would be heard. And that was the last straw; his voice turned you on and you could no longer ignore him, not when he got you this wet. You gulped, making up your mind.
“Jimin, how can I help him?” you asked, getting up from your bed to approach the bathroom. You knew you’re going to regret this later, but you couldn’t help yourself.
Jimin laughed again. “So you finally decided to fuck him, Y/N?”
Embarrassed, you quickly denied, though your mind said otherwise. “No. Not to that extent. Is there any other way besides fucking?”
“From how he hasn’t touched you at all after three days, I can know how much he treasures you. It’s a very hard thing - nearly impossible - to do, you know, for us wolves to control ourselves during the heat. So I think you can trust him that he won’t do anything against your will.” Jimin paused to let his words sink in. “Well, he’s craving for your physical affection. Your touch will give him bliss. Though, it would be best if you let him get into your pants.” Jimin groaned in pain after that; you assumed Yoora hit him.
“Just don’t force yourself, okay? Don’t make yourself uncomfortable,” Yoora said in a worried voice as if she already knew what you were about to do.
“Okay,” you said to reassure her before hanging up.
Without warning, you opened the bathroom door, revealing a completely naked Jungkook sitting on the floor, touching himself. You were lying if you said he wasn’t attractive. Since from the first time you saw him, you’d always thought he’s cute; his beautiful round eyes, his bunny teeth, his innocent smile. But you’d never thought of him anything other than a victim of your failed potion. Now that you saw him jacking off while screaming your name, you could only think that he’s hot. The sight of his toned abs, sweats dampening his hair, and his erection made you almost drool, heat pooling in your lower stomach.
“Shit, Y/N! What the hell are you doing?” Jungkook shouted in panic, stopping what he’d been doing to cover his cock with his hand. “Close the door!”
“Let me help you,” you said, walking over to him, your heart beating very fast against your rib cage.
“No. You don’t want this, Y/N,” Jungkook said, panting heavily as your eyes traveled from his face to his lower half.
You crouched down next to him and pushed his hand away to touch him with your hand instead. As you wrapped your hand around his cock, Jungkook cursed loudly and threw his head back, leaning against the wall, shutting his eyes in pleasure.
“Fuck, that feels so good.” Jungkook breathed heavily and let out a loud moan when you started pumping him. He was already wet with precum so it’s easier for you to move your hand up and down his cock. The more he moaned, the stronger the heat you felt between your legs. Your mouth went dry at the sight of him enjoying himself because of your touch, giving you the sudden desire to taste him. You were about to lean down when he stopped you. “What are you doing?” He didn’t seem like he wanted you to stop, but you guessed he just wanted to make sure you knew what you’re doing.
“Helping you of course.” You leant down again, this time he didn’t stop you. You kissed the tip before you took him in your mouth. He gasped loudly before bringing his hand to your hair to move it away from your face, gathering it into a ponytail. You looked up to meet his lustful gaze. He was staring down at you with hooded eyes. From the way he looked and how breathless he was, you knew he’s not going to last much longer.
“I’m close, Y/N. Use your hands,” Jungkook choked out, gently lifting your head up by pulling your ponytail, away from his cock.
You did what he asked and continued pumping him with your hand. You felt his dick twitch at your touch and not long after, he came into your hand with a loud moan. You helped him ride it out until he went soft, then he got to his feet to take the wet towel he’d put on the sink; he used it to wipe his cum on himself and on your hand.
After you two were cleaned up, Jungkook put his clothes back on and sat down beside you on the floor. An awkward silence passed between you before he said while rubbing the back of his neck, “Thank you. You didn’t have to, actually.”
You waved your hand dismissively. “It’s fine. I wanted to help anyway.” Your cheeks must be red by now. You’d just basically told him that you’re attracted to him. Well, he was the reason why you’re sexually frustrated now - and why you’re feeling like this.
“So do you want me to…?” Jungkook trailed off as his eyes shifted down to your lap.
You took that as an offer to eat you out as a repay and you quickly shook your head, your face heating up. “No, I’m okay.” As much as you wanted it, you had to decline. You didn’t want him to do it while he’s still under the influence of the potion - and plus, he’s also currently in heat. It’s not his real feelings towards you, so you shouldn’t take advantage on him. And you didn’t even know whether he actually wanted to do this with you.
“But a kiss is fine, right?” Jungkook didn’t wait for your answer and crashed his lips onto yours, kissing you passionately.
At that second, you forgot everything about the damn soulmate potion and your determination to not take advantage on him. You kissed him back, as passionately, tilting your head slightly so that you could deepen the kiss. With your hands wrapped around his neck, you pulled him closer towards you until there’s no space left between the two of you. You never knew kissing him would feel this good.
Jungkook pulled away to say breathlessly, “Hold on tight.”
“What?” you said, followed with a shriek since he suddenly lifted you up and you wrapped your legs around his waist reflexively.
A laughter filled the house as both of you giggled while he was carrying you to your room, gently dropping you on the bed. Hovering on top of you, he continued savoring the taste of your lips, his elbows propping himself up. His kiss was warm and full of passion, hard and soft at the same time. His hand left the bed to caress your cheek tenderly and you felt cherished; you found comfort in his touch. But you’re still quite unsure of what you’re feeling towards him. The situation you’re in now made everything a lot more complicated.
Jungkook broke the kiss when you were both out of breath. He was so close to you that you could feel his breath brush against your face. Your heart skipped a beat at the way he looked at you as if you’re the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen in his entire life.
“You’re beautiful,” Jungkook said softly, pushing a strand of hair away from your face to get a clearer look. He smiled at you lovingly and you melted. “I love you so much, Y/N. God, if only I can tell you how much I love you.”
I love you too. You nearly said it back to him, but you could hear the voice in your mind screamed that this wasn’t real. This was all because of a potion. None of this was genuine.
Your hand reached up to stroke his cheek. He leant into your touch and grinned wider. It was heartbreaking to learn that he wouldn’t react like this once he drank the antidote. But you mustered a smile for him. “You already have. You never missed a day to tell me. Thank you, Jungkook. For loving me.”
“Anytime, candy,” Jungkook said before lying down on the bed beside you.
“Candy?” You raised a brow at his new nickname for you, snuggling up to him. You sighed contentedly when you felt his warmth.
Jungkook put an arm around you and pulled you closer to him. “Cotton candy. You smell like cotton candy.”
That night was the first time you allowed Jungkook to sleep on the bed with you.
“You love him,” Yoora stated bluntly. “Obviously.”
You furrowed your brows, unable to accept her judgement of your feelings towards Jungkook. “No. Of course not.”
It was a few weeks after Jungkook’s heat and things hadn’t gotten awkward between the two of you, instead you’d become a lot closer and more comfortable with each other. He kissed you at the most random times, but it’s not like you hated it either. You two shared the bed now and you were practically inseparable. The only time you weren’t with him was when you’re in classes. And you liked it - you liked to be with him, even if it was as simple as having dinner together.
Yoora sighed in exasperation. “You can keep lying to me, but I can see through your lies easily, you know. You’re not the type to just blow someone you don’t love.” You quickly shushed her in embarrassment, but she only laughed and continued. “You just don’t want to be hurt. That’s why you should quickly give that antidote to him. No more lies.”
You bit your lower lip, your fists clenched. You didn’t know whether you wanted Jungkook to stay with you and keep giving you fake love or you wanted to end all of this. But your conscience told you that this wasn’t fair for Jungkook. The least you could do as an apology was return him back to normal, before you’d accidentally gave him the soulmate potion. This must be done. It’s your fault from the beginning, so you must make it right.
“Alright. I’ll give it to him today. I’ll tell him everything,” you said, lifting your hand to ask her for the antidote.
The two of you had worked on the antidote for weeks under the supervision of the lecturer - Yoora had lied that the antidote was for her friend - and managed to finish it yesterday. You’d asked her to hold on to it while you’re making up your mind. And now that you’d decided, you would give the antidote to Jungkook today.
“Good. It’s best if he hears it from you. And you can try it out with Taehyung to forget about him.” Yoora gave you a thumbs up before rummaging through her bag. Her eyebrows furrowed after digging into the bag for a while. “Where the hell is it? I’m sure it’s in my bag.”
You frowned. Yoora was a meticulous person. If she said it’s in her bag, then it should be in her bag, unless someone took it from her. “Is it possible if Jimin or someone else searches through your bag?”
It seemed your guess was right because Yoora gasped out of shock afterwards. “Jimin!”
As if on cue, Jimin came over to your table at the lab with eyebrows furrowed. But rather than approaching his soulmate, he headed towards you. He was panting as if he’d just run all the way here.
“Why didn’t you tell me it’s Jungkook?” Jimin asked in an accusing tone.
“You know him?” you asked him back, eyes wide with surprise. You never mentioned Jungkook’s name to Yoora and Jimin.
“He’s a part of our pack! Of course I know him!” Jimin growled at you angrily, causing you to flinch. You took a step back involuntarily out of fear.
Yoora must have seen that you’re scared of Jimin. She put a hand on Jimin’s chest to calm him down. “Babe, she doesn’t know that he’s in your pack. Obviously, she can’t tell you. How did you find out anyway?”
Jimin didn’t look away from you. “I went to Y/N’s house this morning, because I couldn’t find you anywhere. But then I met Jungkook, sitting on her porch, waiting for her to come home like a dog.” Jimin started raising his voice again and Yoora had to squeeze his hand to tame his temper. He was talking to you now. “Did you know how long we’ve been searching for him since he left our pack four years ago? He always ran away when we got closer to him. And now he didn’t even budge when I approached him in your house! He couldn’t leave! Why? Because of your fucking soulmate potion!”
“I-I’m sorry, Jimin. I-I didn’t know,” you stuttered, dropping your gaze to the ground, moving back another step.
“Stop, Jimin! You’re freaking her out!” Yoora said, louder this time to make him know that she’s serious.
Jimin went silent in an instant, only his ragged breaths were heard. No one spoke for a few minutes. People who’d been staring since Jimin’s sudden outburst went back to do what they’d been doing.
“So did you take the antidote from my bag, Jimin?” Yoora finally asked, breaking the silence.
Jimin answered, a lot calmer than earlier, “Yeah, I gave it to Jungkook. I told him everything. But I don’t know whether he already drank it or not. He looked pretty shocked. Where’s Taehyung? I have to tell him that I found Jungkook.”
You could hear the sound of your heart breaking. It’s all over. Not only that Jungkook would hate you, he would also be gone from your life forever. No kisses, no meals together, no cuddles. Tears nearly escaped your eyes, but you didn’t even have the leisure to mope around.
Yoora’s eyes widened in horror as she said, “I just told Taehyung to go to Y/N’s house!”
“What?” you and Jimin exclaimed in unison.
She raked her fingers through her hair in frustration. “I was trying to set them up - Y/N and Taehyung.”
Jimin cursed. “Shit! If Jungkook hasn’t drunk the antidote, this will turn out very bad!”
You and Jimin were about to storm out of the lab and ran all the way to your house when Yoora stopped you, flashing her car key to you. “Let’s go in my car,” she said hastily and led the way, sprinting towards the parking lot.
The three of you arrived a bit too late at your house. The condition of your front yard was disastrous; most of the plants were destroyed, a tree was snapped in half, a huge mess of soil everywhere, and most importantly, there were two huge wolves fighting. Jungkook hadn’t drunk the antidote and that was the worst scenario. In a blink of an eye, Jimin jumped off the car while it was still moving and transformed into a wolf to pull them apart. Yoora stopped the car hastily and the two of you hurriedly got off to get closer to the fight.
“Jungkook! Stop!” you yelled out loud. But Jungkook didn’t react. He continued on biting and scratching Jimin and Taehyung who weren’t fighting back. You didn’t know whether he couldn’t hear or he chose to not hear you. You kept advancing to get closer to the wolves until Yoora tugged your wrist to stop you from getting too close. So you had no other choices but to shout again, “Jungkook! Listen to me! Enough! I’m here!”
Jungkook finally froze at your voice and turned back to face you. Within a few seconds, he changed back into human and jogged cheerfully towards you as if he hadn’t just hurt his own packmates. It made you feel awful like you’re the worst witch on earth. The consequences of your failure were not only causing Jungkook to be infatuated with you, but also hurting his friends. The guilt was too much for you to take and you instantly broke down in tears.
“Are you okay, Y/N?” Jungkook asked worriedly as he crouched down next to you.
Seeing Jungkook under the potion’s influence reminded you of all the things you’d done. Anger took over you. “Just go away, Jungkook! Drink that stupid antidote and get out of my sight!”
Jungkook flinched at your burst of anger, looking very hurt. But you no longer cared. It’s all over anyway once he’d drunk the antidote. You took the nearest rock and threw it at him. He stepped back to avoid it, but his eyes didn’t leave you.
“Go away!” you shouted louder while sobbing heavily, continuously throwing rocks in frustration. “Go!”
Jungkook gave you one last sad look and changed back into a wolf, scurrying off into the woods. After he completely disappeared from you, it finally sank in that he’s gone and he’s not coming back. Yoora came to give you a hug and you cried your heart out in her arms.
You realized two things at that moment: Jungkook was gone and you loved him.
The first couple of weeks were the worst. You had a hard time sleeping because you’re used to his warmth next to you on your bed. You lost your appetite on every meal because you’re used to eating together with him. You still searched for him at the uni’s front gate after classes because he used to wait for you everyday. And the hardest of all, you could no longer hear “I love you” from his lips every night before you went to sleep.
You called Yoora on the third week, since you wanted to check on Jimin’s condition; it’s mostly your fault that he ended up like that. But you were also feeling lonely. You asked as soon as Yoora answered the phone, “Hey, how’s Jimin?”
“He’s as good as new. His wounds are not that deep. But Taehyung…” Yoora trailed off.
“What happened to Taehyung? Is there something wrong?” you asked in a heartbeat, suddenly getting very nervous. What if-
“No, he’s fine,” Yoora reassured you quickly and you sighed in relief. “He’s just put on bed rest for another week. Well, you know, Jungkook’s an alpha, he’s bound to be a lot stronger than the others.”
You tensed when she mentioned Jungkook. You knew she didn’t mean to, but still, it hurt you to hear his name. She only realized what she’d said after you went silent for a few seconds.
“Oh god, I’m sorry, Y/N,” Yoora added apologetically. “I didn’t-”
“It’s fine,” you cut her off before she could start saying anything else that would probably make you cry. “I should be the one apologizing. I’m sorry for what happened to Jimin and Taehyung. I hope they’ll get well soon.”
Without waiting for her response, you hung up the phone. You’re glad to hear that Jimin and Taehyung were fine. But the mention of Jungkook’s name tore you apart. You missed him, a lot. Knowing that you had no idea how to contact him broke you down in pieces. He hadn’t made any efforts to see you either, so it really was over. Of course, he probably hated you for giving him the potion.
As an attempt to heal your broken heart, you decided to go into the woods, where you first met Jungkook to reminisce the good memories that had happened between you and him. But you hadn’t expected to see a huge black wolf sitting near the lake, as if waiting for something. Letting out a loud gasp, you stopped dead in your tracks. It felt like your heart ceased to beat for a moment.
“Jungkook?” Your voice was quiet like a whisper. You couldn’t believe what you saw.
The wolf turned back into human and, as if to prove your own doubts, Jungkook appeared before you, smiling gently at you. He’s still wearing the same clothes from the last time you’d seen him, which might mean he’d been in his wolf form since then and staying here like this all the time.
“Took you long enough,” Jungkook said softly as he approached you. There’s no sign of hatred in his eyes.
“Have you been waiting for me?” you asked in disbelief. Hadn’t he drunk his antidote already? Why wasn’t he angry at you?
“Of course.” Jungkook shook his head as he grinned wider. “I thought I was going to die if I had to wait a few more days. I almost barged into your house, you know. But I know you won’t like that.”
“Wait, Jungkook.” All of his words didn’t make sense to you. He still seemed like he’s under the potion’s influence from the way he spoke to you. And that was absurd. Why would he let himself suffer after knowing the whole truth? “Why didn’t you drink the antidote Jimin gave you?”
Jungkook chuckled. “I drank it immediately after he told me everything and gave me the antidote.”
“Then why…?” You’re at a loss for words, unable to ask what you actually wanted to know. The effect of the soulmate potion was supposed to be completely gone. Then why did he still look at you that way? Like you’re the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen?
Jungkook took out something from the bag slung over his shoulder. Your eyes widened in recognition as you saw what it was: a bottle of your spare soulmate potion that was supposed to be safely kept inside your drawer. Why did he have it with him?
“Try smelling it.” Jungkook opened the lid and shoved it towards you.
You warily leant closer to the bottle and took a whiff. A tear escaped your eye as your hand covered your mouth in disbelief. It still smelled like vanilla. Jungkook’s favorite scent.
Jungkook wiped your tears with his thumb affectionately. “You want to know why? Because it still smells like cotton candy to me, even when I’m not under your spell. Do you know what that means?”
You didn’t say anything, too overwhelmed with your emotion. More tears rolled down your cheeks and you started sobbing heavily. Jungkook wrapped his arms around your back and pulled you towards him, embracing you as if he never wanted to let you go again.
“It means you’re my real soulmate,” Jungkook whispered to your ear. “Even if you hadn’t casted a spell of soulmate potion on me, you would still be my soulmate.”
With that, Jungkook pulled away and cradled your face in his hands, capturing your lips with his in a kiss. The kiss was slow and soft. It was different compared to your first kiss with him that was clouded with lust. This was sweet and you could feel how much he loved you, how much you loved him. It was as if the time stopped around you and there were only you and him in this world. You were almost disappointed when he broke the kiss to let you catch your breaths.
You were greeted with a grinning Jungkook when you pulled away. He took your hand in his and started walking towards the edge of the lake. “Come with me. There’s something I want to show you.”
Jungkook let go of your hand when you two arrived at the lake. He made you hold the soulmate potion bottle while he plucked a few strands of his hair.
You raised an eyebrow at him. “Jungkook, what are you doing?”
Dropping his hair into the bottle, he said excitedly, “Recite your spell.”
You shoved the bottle away from you in reflex. “What? No, Jungkook. I don’t want to accidentally bind you again with the potion.”
Jungkook gently pushed the bottle towards you again. “Trust me.”
Taking a deep breath, you decided to trust Jungkook. You were his soulmate, with or without the potion. Since it wouldn’t make any differences anyway, you might as well do what he asked you to. You closed your eyes and chanted your spell. You felt the liquid in the bottle go warm after you’re done reciting.
“Y/N, open your eyes.” You heard Jungkook say.
The moment you opened your eyes, you caught your breath at the mind-blowing sight before you. The lake at the woods that was dark was now lit up by the many tiny lights coming from between the trees. They were flying, swarming towards the surface of the lake, illuminating the water. And then you realized that they were fairies, lighting up the lake with their fairy dust. That was probably the most beautiful view you’d ever seen.
“Wow.” was the only thing you said at the breathtaking scenery in front of you.
“Beautiful, aren’t they?” Jungkook muttered in awe next to you, enjoying the view too.
Once you recovered from your shock, you shifted your gaze to Jungkook, giving him a questioning look. You had tried the potion before and you’d been sure it’d been a failure - it’d been a soulmate potion instead of a lure for fairies. Then how come this time the fairies really came out from their hiding?
“How?” you asked Jungkook, unable to hide your smile because finally, you’d succeeded in gathering the fairies and you could submit this to the lecturer for your final project.
Jungkook shrugged. “I did a few researches and I found out from your recipe that you lack one ingredient: werewolf’s hair. I hope you don’t mind me stealing your soulmate potion for experiments.”
It was touching that he would go out of his way to do researches for you. He might have been doing that while you’d been moping around after he’d left you. You rested your head on his shoulder while watching the fairies dance above the lake. You took his hand and intertwined your fingers with his. “I can’t believe you did that for me. Thank you.”
“I would do anything for you.” Jungkook said, resting his head on top of yours and wrapping his arm around your waist.
“So will you go back home with me and apologize to your packmates?” you asked, snuggling up to him and basking in his presence.
“Of course. Anything for you, candy. Because I love you.” Jungkook planted a soft kiss on the top of your head and you could feel how much he treasured you.
Your heart fluttered at his love confession for you although he’d said it to you a lot of times before and you knew in that very moment, you loved him more than anyone else in the world and you would also do anything for him.
Instead of thanking him for loving you like usual, for the first time you replied with, “I love you too, Jungkook.”

House of Wolves - Part One
Length: 4.6k words Warning: N/A Synopsis: You’ve been offered an apprenticeship at Kineros Robotics and you couldn’t say no; you’ve been dreaming about working in the field for as long as you can remember. Will it be everything you’ve been building up in your mind, or will it all come crashing down around you? Notes: Set somewhat in AHS? Y/N is, as you will read, nineteen and took time off after finishing school before searching for a job. She’s found her dream job but it isn’t without risk. Also, I decided to make Y/N’s character a virgin but we will delve into that more in another part. This is an idea that came to me at work and it was the easiest almost 5k I’ve pumped out before. I think this might be my longest fic? The boss/employee thing is a definite kink and somewhat based off a real-life crush I had on a manager years ago at my first job. I’m also taking inspiration in this little series (I guess it is?) from a few movies I’ve seen.
It had been nearly 3 months. Something like close to ninety days, roughly 2,160 hours, around 129,600 minutes (okay, give or take a few hundred) since you found out you got in. Six weeks went by after the submission of your video and letter as to why you should be picked and you had basically given up hope that the spot would be yours... until that day, 3 months ago, when you received an e-mail telling you that you’d been chosen and you almost fainted.
“Honey, you need to get up. You don’t want to be late for your first day.”
A voice rouses from your sleep, causing you to groan and rub at your tired eyes. Your vocal cords aren’t quite awake yet leaving you with a husky tone as you ask, “What time is it?”
Every bone in your body wants to stay under the covers for another five minutes. Your mother stresses that five minutes was actually half an hour ago when she first tried to get you out of bed and that you didn’t want to be rushing at the last minute.
You roll over to check the clock on your nightstand and luckily you still had a couple of hours before it was time to leave for work. This meant you didn’t have to worry yourself into a state. Today was the day you start your apprenticeship at Kineros Robotics; only the most prestigious robotics company in your city – you’d been waiting for this all summer; every morning since receiving the offer you would pinch yourself to make sure this wasn’t just a dream and it was actually happening.
Your mother has parked herself on the edge of the bed, looking at you with doting eyes and more excitement in one finger than you have in your entire body. It wasn’t surprising at all because you were her only child. I guess in ways she lived through your success.
She asks what you want for breakfast and you tell her you’re so nervous that you probably can’t even stomach a glass of juice. She somehow doesn’t believe you, cheekily adding, “I’m sure this is a problem that blueberry pancakes could solve,” pushing her weight up off of the bed and walks over to pop a kiss on your forehead.
“Yeah, okay, you got me. I’ll get ready and then be down.”
*
It feels like holes were being burned into you as stares hit when you come into to the kitchen. Your mother is admiring the beautiful creation she had made all those years ago and is hit with pangs of nostalgia. Time was ticking by much too fast for her liking – one minute she was taking you home from the hospital, the next you were crawling around on the floor in a diaper and sooner than she’d care to admit you were starting high school, buying your first car, and now, your first day at your first job.
She exclaims, “Look at you! You look all grown up. Look at these curls!”
The newfound responsibility you’d acquired and what you were dressed in did make you feel like you were 29, not 19 when you looked in the mirror. You were aiming for “not a nun but not quite a slut” as your best friend would word it; a white blouse paired with a cardigan, your favourite black skirt, and heels which used to terrify your mother - she didn’t want you falling over and injuring yourself; you assured her each time you wore them, both with word and by action, that you could, in fact, walk in these shoes and that if you were going to injure yourself you didn’t need shoes to do it.
That woman liked to encroach on your space, both physically and mentally. She called it motherly love but you sometimes felt like it was more like motherly suffocation. Being an only child was hard because you were subject to all of her worries as well as her happiness. Brushing her away, you remind her, “Mom, mom, stop. It’s not like you haven’t seen me like this before.”
She stands in front of you, a few inches taller, hands reaching for your collar to straighten it with tears forming in her eyes. “Yeah, Y/N, but this is a milestone. It’s your first real job out of high school. My baby is no longer a baby.”
You sit down at the table and your eyes hit the plate before you, confessing that it all looked pretty delicious. Aside from being a parent, she was the queen of pancakes and nobody could change your mind. The sweet scent flooded your nostrils and your stomach instantly started to scream out to be fed. You started to cut up your food and piling it onto your fork, ready to take a mouthful.
“It’s an apprenticeship, not a job.”
Your mother settles on a chair across the table from you, pulling it in while she responds, “Sweetie, that’s just another name for a job. You’re being paid and gaining hands-on experience, that’s what counts. Do you know much about your boss?”
You swallow the mouthful you’ve been chewing on and affirm what you’d been told, “Only hearsay. That he’s young, powerful, and wealthy.”
Your mother wasn’t the type to beat around the bush. She warns, “Yes, well, if he’s nice to look at don’t let his pretty face fool you.”
She’s concerned and unbeknown to you she had every right to be. You always tried to see the good in people but your mother had what they call a mother’s intuition and she knew there was something lurking beneath the surface.
Mildly offended and also slightly worried at the subtle accusation, you hit her back and remind her that you were more than just a nineteen-year-old girl who would get heart-eyes over every boy. You’d been dreaming about a career in mechatronics since you’d started high school and no boy, no man, no human was going to take the opportunity away from you.
“Mom! Of course not. You know how badly I’ve longed for a shot at this ever since I realised what I wanted to do.”
Underneath it all, you know she cares and that she’s projecting her own insecurities onto you. She didn’t get to live out her dreams and you were hit with some guilt because you were the reason behind why – this left you with even more of a need to make her proud.
The warmth of her hand hits your skin as she reaches out and caresses the back of yours, trying to apologise, “I know, I’m sorry. I just worry. I should know you’re smart enough to learn from my mistakes. Boys can be so tempting. I remember when I met your father and-“
You cut her off and snap at the overused line she was going to spin. You tried to take a deep breath, remembering that her mistake wasn’t you; it was the fact that she hadn’t planned things out more carefully. “Yes, and the two of you worked out so well, didn’t you?”
That man, if he could be called one, made you sick for the hurt he inflicted on your family. From as early as you can remember he made trouble for you and your mother before running away with a woman he barely knew. He was barely a man – what man leaves his young child and wife for a floozy he met god knows where?
Your sight flicks to the watch on your wrist and you’re hit with a gut punch – the “wonderful” conversation with your mother took longer than you wanted it to, leaving you barely any time left to fight the traffic before you’d really be late. “Oh, shit, I have to go!”
You pick up your keys off the kitchen table and kiss your mother’s forehead before rushing out the door.
Breathlessly, you mutter to yourself, “Crap, crap, crap. Traffic better be kind to me.”
-
Traffic was certainly not kind. You arrived at Kineros Robotics ten minutes after you were due to start and you were already dreading it because being late was not in your nature. You rush in the front door and arrive at the reception desk, ringing the bell. A woman with fiery red hair dressed in a beautiful purple outfit comes to see to you. She shoots you a forced smile, closer to grimacing, “You must be Miss L/N. My name is Wilhelmina Venable.”
“Yes ma’am,” You tell her, attempting to catch your breath. You stick out a hand for her to shake but she doesn’t reciprocate your actions - taking one look and she’s obviously coloured unimpressed; it wasn’t obvious if it was because you were late or because she didn’t like the look of you.
All you get is an order to follow her. She leads you a couple of doors down past the reception area and informs you, “Mr Langdon doesn’t appreciate tardiness. I’m aware you called in which is appreciated but don’t make it a habit.”
“I’m sorry Wilhemina-” you already had an apology ready that you’d drafted in your head while stuck in the traffic. She doesn’t want to hear and lifts her hand up, signalling for you to stop.
With her sharp tongue, she corrects your lack of better judgement, “It’s Miss Venable to you.”
“Oh, yes, I’m sorry, Miss Venable. I promise I won’t do it again. Traffic was a nightmare.”
The room you arrive at looks very different from the rest of the building. Kineros Robotics looked mostly sterile but from what you could see through the glass, this room was cosy. “We’re here.”
She hits you with a sinister smile; as if she was aware of something you weren’t, and pulled open the door. “You should go in first.”
So you do, gingerly stepping into the office with Venable a few steps behind, and the two of you wait for his attention. He stops typing, only to tell Venable to leave - his words were short, cold and imagined they would have tasted unsavoury rolling off the tongue.
He didn’t bother to look at her when he spoke but with you, it was different. He looks at you, flashing a heartfelt smile, and holds an arm out to point at the chair the other side of his desk. “You must be Y/N, please do sit.”
You weren’t ever really one to disobey rules and so you immediately sit down without hesitation, resting your forearms on your thighs and your fingers intertwined each other; fidgeting almost. “Yes, Sir. I’m her. Thank you for offering me a place. I never thought I’d end up being able to fulfil a dream of mine.”
Michael stands up and moves around to perch himself on the edge of his desk, filling the space between you and the office furniture. “Your application was excellent. You have quite the brain. One which I would like to study. We definitely need someone like you here.”
You felt the heat rise in your body, flushing your cheeks and turning them rosy red. You were flattered, to say the least. Not a lot of people complimented you on your smarts, if at all. “Thank you, sir.”
“Tell me what this means to you. A lot of people would love to be in your position, are you willing to do anything for me and this company?”
“Oh, of course, I will. It means everything, sir. Like I said in my application creating this sort of thing, with my own two hands and brain, will be such a rewarding experience.” You gesture with your hands, trying to validate the importance and truth of what you were saying.
“Very good. Now, since this is an internship it means you will be doing a wide variety of tasks, a lot of them will be under me. You may have to work late, start early, do things out of the general scope of Robotics and more along the lines of helping me, helping this business. Is this acceptable?”
You nod your head in compliance; you already fell a pull to help him however you could. Your E/C eyes locked on him as he moves back to where he was, behind his laptop. “Excellent. I’d love to stay and chat but I have a meeting soon. Let me get Wilhemina to come and collect and you. She probably has a few things you can help her with.”
He calls Venable on his phone and asks for her to collect you. His tone of voice is so different; with you he is pleasant and with Venable he is blunt. His ring-adorned fingers catch your eye as he hangs up the call – you’d never seen anyone with such regal jewellery before, certainly nobody your own age. Michael didn’t appear to be more than ten years older than you. The rumours about his wealth must be truth. But how?
“It’s been a pleasure to meet you. I look forward to working with you.”
Every compliment he has given you is swirling around in between your ears, causing you to feel slightly light-headed. You rise up from your seat and just about knock over the chair before catching it, preventing it from falling, “You too, and again, thank you.”
A smug look appears on Michael’s face, almost like he knew you were going to be fun, “Do be careful. We don’t want our future number one employee to hurt themselves now, do we?”
Venable clears her throat to make her presence known; you weren’t sure how long she’d been standing behind you but when you turned around to see her she was staring Michael down. She cocks her head in the direction of the exit and rushes you along.
The two of you walk travel to the front desk, chatting as you walk.
“I see you’ve met Michael”
“His name’s Michael?”
Venable scoffs, “Yeah but he prefers people to call him Langdon. If you’re one of the chosen ones you can call him Michael but honestly I don’t think any of us here are allowed to call him that.”
Arriving at the front desk, you see box upon box of what appears to be folders. It looks as if Venable had been inputting something into the computer. Your inquisitive mind knows you should be quiet but you can’t help it. Reaching for a folder sitting on the desk close to you, you pick it up and ask, “What’s all this?”
She snatches the folder from your hands and puts it out of your reach, “I have to input this data into the system. Housekeeping and all of that.”
You offer your help; saying she must have better things to do. She finds it amusing and you aren’t quite sure why. Those eyes of hers roll and she sarcastically remarks, “Yeah, like licking Michael’s shoes clean.”
“Really?”
“Don’t be so stupid. Do you even know how to use the software?”
It was at that moment you had to look away from her; part of you wanted to laugh and part of you wanted to cry. You felt so bad for her because she was so bitter; if you cut her open she probably bled black.
You swallow the need to be right, letting it sink to the pit of your stomach and dissolving in the bile before answering her with a simple “I sure do.”
“Huh, fancy that. You’re making yourself useful which is always needed at this company,” she points over to another room which you presume is a laboratory, “There are a few people in there who are anything but. Just input the data as it’s read on the documents, and then save when you’re done.”
She gestures in the other direction, where you see a door, “If you go through that, it leads into another hallway. There are signs to tell you where to go but you’ll find a café down there. Just go and eat whenever you want. You’ll need to break when you can… Michael can be rather demanding.”
“Good or bad?”
“You’ll see.”
*
“So how are we going? Settling in okay?” A familiar voice sounds from behind you. It’s Michael and his hand on your chair. You think it’s best not to get distracted by his presence and attempt at continuing your work. It was difficult. The cologne he’s wearing is to die for and lures your attention away from the screen.
Michaels head dips down to be level with yours and asks, “What are you doing, anyway?”
Biting back the feelings he brought upon you, eyes on the screen, you explain, “Wil- Miss Venable needed this entered into the system.”
He turns his head a fraction and so do you. “You can call her whatever you like,” he continues by lowly commenting in your ear, “technically you are higher than her since you’re my assistant as well as the office intern. I need you to stop working so hard on your first day and come with me, Y/N. Let's go get a coffee.”
“Okay, sir.”
You leave the computer as is, unsure of the password to unlock it, and Venable is nowhere to be seen to ask for assistance.
*
Michael is standing beside the coffee machine, his fingers hitting random buttons, “You know, I can feel your nerves from here, Y/N. I guess it’s a good thing I’m not giving you any caffeine.”
“Well, sir, uh, this is my first job and I didn’t want to mess up.”
He pulls his cup away from the machine, stirring as he walks over to the table where you are sitting and plants himself next to you. You watch as the cup rests against his plump bottom lip, wondering what it would be like to kiss him, and then you watch as he swallows a mouthful of the hot liquid, focusing on his adam’s apple quiver; you can feel yourself growing flustered at the sight of him.
He rests the cup down on the table, that mouth of his transforming into a smirk mostly because he knows you’re watching him, “You know, you don’t have to call me sir. That’s usually reserved for naughty children and I don’t suppose you’re one of those.”
Oh, but I could be…
He continues, “I feel like we should be on a first name basis. Call me Michael.”
If you’re one of the chosen ones you can call him Michael…
“Also, I think you’re doing a fairly good job so far. I don’t have to worry about you, do I?” There goes the smirk again. Then another drink of his beverage. You began salivating at the thought of how wet his mouth would be. About those long fingers wrapped around the mug. About his hands doing things.
Those blue eyes catch you staring at his hands and you quickly look down at your own, with twiddling fingers. “N-no si- Michael, you don’t.” He grazes his teeth unconsciously over the same bottom lip you were eyeing up all the while aware of the effect he has on you from both you stumbling on your words and the body language you’re giving off.
“Michael, I don’t mean to pry and forgive me if I am out of line, but are you and Venable okay with each other? I haven’t met someone who holds so much aggression like she does. Is it because of me?”
He clicks his tongue before beginning to rattle off an answer he had prepared in advance for such a question, “Venable is a special sort.” He gulps down the last of his coffee and places the empty cup down. “I mean, one could assume she’s threatened by a prettier, younger, individual such as yourself but it’s not that. She’s jealous of me because she wanted to be the VIP of this company and then I offered Jeff and Mutt a price they couldn’t refuse and started calling the shots.”
“Oh.” You were relieved albeit a little concerned.
It was Michael’s turn to ask questions, “Why do I get the feeling you’re a girl who is smarter than she lets on? Let’s go to my office. We can discuss things further there.”
-
You didn’t notice earlier how nice his office is; none of this a surprise – any normal person wouldn’t be able to concentrate with his presence nearby, but you? You were the human embodiment of a kitten when you were nervous crossed with a deer in headlights.
After you’re done taking in the décor of his office, you sit down on the chair from earlier, Michael closes the blinds so others cannot see through the giant glass door; it was unlike anything you’d seen – both a wall and a door joined together. He travels over to his chair and uses a finger to invite you in, saying, “Come here, YN. Let me show you something.”
Your hop off and traipse around to his side, peering down at the screen. “I suppose since you’re my Right Hand now I’ll let you in on a secret. This is what we’re planning for the future. We want to open up another Kineros Robotics and let’s just say if I have my way Little Miss Venable will be out of our hair.”
This was all so much for your first day. You couldn’t imagine what you’d be feeling like the end of the week. Next, he was going to tell you he was going to take over the world, which you weirdly weren’t phased by the thought of.
“So, you’re going to fire her?”
A small chuckle erupts from Michael’s lungs, “God no. I’m sick of her attitude but she does keep things in line for the most part. She’ll be sent to work in our new building. Who knows, maybe one day you could end up in her role. Granted, of course, you would be more than just the front desk bitch. I only put her there because she was like a dog with a bone from the moment I met her regarding her authority over this place. She hates that I’ve overtaken her and it’s hilarious. She’ll never quit - nobody else would put up with her and that smarmy attitude.”
You smile, “Seems like it’s all working out for you then.”
His mouth drops and his sadness is apparent from the heavy sigh he expels. “It is, but it does get lonely.”
“What? No Mrs Langdon?”
“I’m afraid not. I’ve never really found anyone with the je ne sais quoi that I’m looking for”
You were surprised and tried to reassure him, “I’m sure you’ll find them one day, Michael.”
His eyes dart to your mouth before scrolling up your eyes. You knew he was hiding something but you weren’t sure what it was. You didn’t dare pry any further – the two of you hadn’t even known each other for a day, despite how comfortable it felt.
“Maybe one day. I guess I should let you get finish whatever you’ve been roped into. You don’t have long until she’ll be forced to release you from her vice-like grip.”
You nod and walk out the door, heading back to where you were. As you get closer, you hear Venable screech and swear.
“Miss Venable, are you okay?”
“Am I okay? Why did you leave the computer unlocked?”
“I didn’t have the password to get in.”
She jumps down your throat like you assume she’s been longing to do since you got here, “You don’t think you could have just found me? Anyone could have accessed what was on here, you do realise that, don’t you?”
Michael rushes out of his office, coming to your rescue, “What seems to be the problem ladies?”
She points at you like a dagger and rats you out, “She left the computer unlocked, Langdon. With everything out in the open for anybody to access.”
He shoots you an apologetic look, “Y/N, excuse us. Wilhemina come into my office. Now.”
Both of them disappear behind the door. Voices start speaking - muffled but you can still make out what is being said.
“What do you think this is Michael? A game?”
“I don’t know what you’re on about.”
“You and that little girl out there. You know what I’m talking about. Why else would you not tell her off for doing something you drilled into me?”
Michael refuses to give her more of his energy than he needs to, simply telling her there was a time and a place. Venable didn’t like this. Not one bit. She starts to lay into him, words overflowing with discontent, “Bullshit, Michael. I’ve seen the way you look at Miss Virgin Pure since the moment she stepped foot in this building earlier today. She’s daisy fresh and innocently came to you for a job but you can’t help yourself. Your eyes are practically defiling her right in front of me. Are you willing to do anything for me? You make me sick.”
He spits back at Venable, putting her in her place, “Firstly, did I give you the right to call me that? No, and secondly, what makes you think I’m going to treat that girl like I would treat you?”
“Because it’s human decency?”
Venable didn’t quite get what Michael was hinting at; thinking he meant like a regular employer but he meant, subtly, that he found her unattractive. “Why don’t you go look into a mirror and ask yourself the same thing, Wilhemina?”
She stayed quiet because in the present moment when she’d been knocked off her own pedestal, she knew Michael was right.
You’d soon come to learn that she wasn’t always a redhead and that the burnt orange hair colour was a symbol which she wore like a badge of honour – she picked it to symbolise her red-hot temper and her willingness to burn anyone who got in her way. There was only one person who could beat her at her own game and it was Michael. You couldn’t blame her for the fact he destroyed her defences; in time he’d destroy yours as well.
He taunts her, “Cat got your tongue, hmm? Go back and do your job like I pay you to. Bring Y/N here, I need to speak with her again.”
She walks out of his office, with a face almost like thunder, refusing to look you in the eye.
“Michael wants to see you again.”

“Sorry to call you away from what you were doing, or not doing, but I’ve decided to limit the amount of time you spend with Venable. I don’t think she needs to be involved in our arrangement.”
“Our arrangement?”
“Thi- Your internship, Miss L/N. There are many things I’d like to teach you.”
Unable to look at you, he had to stop and clear his throat mid-sentence to hide the fact he was becoming somewhat unhinged. Venable wasn’t wrong in the accusations she shot at him. Something about you dissolved away the hard exterior Michael had built up. Was he thinking about you the way you were thinking about him?
You snap back to reality, trying to stop your mind from wandering in a place it shouldn’t. “Oh, yes, of course. I’d love to learn everything.”
After experiencing deflation from the earlier conversation and at Venable’s meltdown, his face again lights up from your eagerness. He was more than flattered you wanted to learn from him and trusted him to be your teacher. He’s back to his old self, teasing you, “You’re free to go for today but I better see you here on time tomorrow, Y/N.”
“Yes si- Michael, I wouldn’t miss it.”
Little do either of you know, you’ve begun playing a dangerous game.

Part Two of Chapter Two: Infirmum
I got cock blocked by the word limit while I was writing the first part of chapter two so I had to split it in half 😠
--
I don't feel so good.
Bile rises up in my throat and I feel my head get shoved to the side. I retch up stomach acid and chunks of ..... something. I can't remember what I've eaten. My eyes are open and throbbing, the pressure behind my eyes is painful. I'm not laying down anymore. I'm in a chair. It's metal. And cold. I blink slowly, still not fully conscious. Something wipes across my face. I blink again.
"Response to the anesthetic is normal."
"Hm?" I blink once again, slowly, and turn my head towards the sound. The man with the blue mask is standing next to me, the little table I saw before rolled up to his side. He's busy scribbling something down in a little notebook, and doesn't seem to see me watching him. I shift my gaze from the blue-masked man to the table. On it is a little tray, carrying a variety of instruments. I see and empty needle (probably the one he used on me before) and a needle full of a clear liquid. I swallow down the lump in my throat. I can just barely see some sort of surgical instruments. I feel the blood drain from my face at that. I feel bile from up again and gag. The man looks up from his notebook to see my green face and calmly pushes me over the side of my chair where I retch again, this time just stomach acid. His hand leaves my shoulder and I see him reach onto the tray. I don't move away, though, my brain not processing what he's doing. He picks up a rag and forces my head towards him, then proceeding to wipe my face of the vomit.
How kind.
He drops the rag back onto the little table and moves away from my line of sight. I slowly blink after him, watching him bring back a stool. He places the stool about two feet away from me and sits on it, holding his little notebook and an almost empty pen.
"I'm going to ask you questions, and you're going to answer them. Do you understand?" I barely have enough energy to lift my head up, so I don't respond. "We've had this discussion already. Would you like me to drug you again?" His words send a jolt through me. A give a small shake of the head. No. "Good. Now. What's your name?"
My name? He wants to know my name? He chased me, kidnapped me, and then drugged me, and now he wants to know my name?
...
What is my name? I know that it starts with (first letter of your name), but I can't remember anything else.
"I-I don't...uh.." I clear my throat, voice scratchy from the intense screaming and drugging. "I don't.....remember. I don't remember." My last words slur together as I try to lift my head up to face him. The man doesn't make any movements, and just sits there with his stupid pen hovering above the paper.
There's a break of silence.
"You don't remember." He states bluntly. "You can't remember your own name?" He rises off of the stool and towers over me. I shrink back as far as I can into my chair, squeaking as his rough voice speaks again. "What do you mean, you can't remember?"
"I mean! I mean- I mean I know..I know what it starts with! It starts with.. its starts with.., uh.." My voice trails off and tears build up behind my eyes. What did it start with again? The man sighs irritably.
"Okay. Calm down. What does it start with?" He doesn't move from his position above me.
"...(first letter of your name)..? I think..? I-I don't..I don't really remem-remember. I'll try again, though! I'll try.., I'll try again I promise!" I can feel his gaze look me over once before he moves back to sit on his stool. He stares at me for a second longer before turning his attention back to his little notebook. There's a pause in his writing as he stares down at the ink on the page. His head shifts upwards towards me and then back down to the notebook. He scribbles out a few more things and looks up at me.
"Are you having trouble remembering things?" I blink at him. My head falls forward as a sudden bout of dizziness hits me.
"Iuhm, I dunno.. i'sjus that i....mm not feeling so great." My words are slurring badly. My body starts to fall forward.
Guess I wasn't tied down. I see the man move off of the stool and in front of me, catching me before my chair tips and I hit the ground. I try to move my arms to push him off of me. So my hands are tied down.
That's progress, I guess.
He pushes me back upright, forcing my back to hit the back of the chair.
"Are you feeling dizzy?" A slight nod.
"Are you experiencing any sort of headache?" Another small nod.
"Are you hearing any sort of ringing?" I shake my head no. He rises a bit and pulls the table closer to us. I hear a few metal things shift and click. "Lift your head." I obey, not wanting to make him angry again. A light clicks on and I hiss, squeezing my eyes shut and snapping my head to the right. A pained sob leaves my lips as the throbbing in my head increases. I hear the....flashlight(?) click off.
His hand moves away. I hear him stand up, and the little table roll away. I keep my eyes shut and let my head gently rest against the head of the chair. I start to doze off, listening to the shifting sound of fabric and the clinking off metal. The throbbing in my head is intense, and I'm pretty sure that if I was outside of my body, I would be able to see my head throbbing. The blue-masked man starts to walk towards me but I don't pay him much attention, stupidly.
I can see his shadow crouch down in front of me.
"What're you doin..g?" I carefully open my eyes.
"I'm undoing your wrist restraints." That sparked a bit of confusion.
"What?"
"Are you hard of hearing? I'm undoing your wrist restraints."
"Why're you-!" He scoops me up, one arm under my knees, and one arm around my shoulders. "He-hey!" I struggle a bit in his arms. He ignores my struggles and continues to walk. I don't hear any door open, and we don't pass under anything that would indicate a change in the room.
This place is huge!
We reach the corner to the room and he drops me onto a bed. A let out a shrill cry as the bounce from the bed jostles my head.
"Sorry." The blue-masked man mutters and unapologetic apology as he sets to work re-tying my hands, binding them with the straps that are tied to the edge of the bed. "I'm going to give you a mild anesthetic, but only after you answer some questions that I have. Do you understand?" I don't respond, my body far ahead of my brain in terms of when I should fall asleep. Which was apparently right now. I hear a click and my eye is forced open to the blinding light of the flashlight. I yelp and my body jerks upwards, instinctively trying to get the light out of my eyes. "You will sleep when I tell you to sleep, do you understand?" He doesn't let my eye shut.
"Y-yes! Yes! I understand! I understand..." He seems satisfied with my response and lets my eye close, clicking off the flashlight at the same time.
"Good. Now. What can you remember? Recent events, or past events?" What can I remember?
"I-I remember a..uh..a few past events..? And.. and what just happened..?" My words come out more like a question, and not like the statement that I had intended.
"Describe the past events." He pulls out his notebook and pen. Since when did he have his notebook and pen? Where was he carrying it? My mind is slow to answer the questions, and the blue-masked man doesn't seem to patient with me right now. "I told you to describe what you remember. I strongly advise that you do, my patience is being worn thin." His threat sends vivid images into my mind of what he could do. I feel the blood drain out of my face as I stumble over my words to provide him with an answer.
"I remember my first day of kindergarten, and my mom, and my dad and what they look like and the first test that I failed and the dark! I remember the dark, and hiding under the bed..hiding under the bed.....from...someone. I don't remember who, though. Uhh.. I remember getting into my first car crash and my brothers funeral. I-I remember the fights-the fights-fights, and the-and the- and the smell of liquor. And the fights! I remember the fights. And the...uh.. what's it called? The.. um.. the.. my parents split up..?"
"A divorce?" The blue-masked man offered, scribbling furiously in his notebook.
"Yeah..! Yeah, the divorce, and and and my... uh.... my mom's marriage to this new guy..and.." I pause to catch my breath. Am I crying? When did I start to cry? "And.. and I had classes where...um....where I learned.. where I learned to fight..? I think?" The man pauses at that, before writing something down.
"Anything else?" I think for a moment, desperately clawing through my memories to provide him with the information that he wanted.
"My dad.. my dad kept coming to the house.. he kept coming.. coming to the house and he..uh.uhm .. he wasn't allowed to.. and the fire! The fire! I remember the fire!" It's true. My dad had set a fire in my mom's house, he had turned on the gas stove and let the kitchen fill up with gas before lighting it up.
"The fire?"
"Uhm.. yah, the , thum.. fire. My dad was... uh.. angry? He was angry at my mom..for ...for remarrying, so he .. he snuck into the house... and and lit it on fire." I can feel the blue-masked man's gaze on me but I don't look at him, I'm starting to get to absorbed into the story, but he isn't stopping me, so I continue. "I heard it. The fire. I felt it too, I felt it. It was so....so hot. And bright.. and I couldn't.. I couldn't get out. I remember.... I remember the screaming. Yah, I remember the screaming so....so..so.." I couldn't find the right word. The man is silent. "So.. clearly. Like it happened yesterday."
"When did it happen?"
When did the fire happen? A year ago?
"I think..I think it was a year ago...? Yah, a year ago. I remember pulling my mom out of her room... but I... I couldn't save my.. my .. what's it called..?" My bound hands are making little gestures as I tell the story.
"Stepdad?" The man contributes, his words careful. I glance at him. He's looking down at me, pen held tight in his hand. I can see that he's written a lot, the pages of his notebook flipped over and over, the ink staining the white.
"Yeah, stepdad. Stepdad stepdad stepdad stepdad." The word feels funny in my mouth.
"What happened after that?" I blink slowly, fatigue hitting me hard.
"I had ta.. I had ta get a job, to help pay for an... apart..ment? Apartment. At that stupid cafe with Creepybossman. I hate him."
The man takes note of this.
"Do you remember any recent memories?"
"Yah." It's quiet.
"Please elaborate."
"O-oh, sorry. I remember the rain. And-and I remember running. Running like ....super fast. And that car that was going way over the speed limit... and mask." The man is furiously writing.
"Mask?"
"Your mask. And skin." I ponder over his skin for a moment. There has to be a reason why I remember his skin. The man abruptly stands.
"You have been very cooperative tonight. Can you remember your name yet?" My name...? I think so.
"I think.. so?"
"Well what is it?"
"(n-name)..?" He nods once.
"Good. Well, (name)," the sound of my name being muffled by his mask as he speaks is unsettling. "You are allowed to sleep now. I'll give you a mild anesthetic, and a bit of pain killer. If you cause any trouble, make any noise, or are just a general nuisance, I will not hesitate to make you bleed. Do you understand?" A shiver rips down my spine.
"Y-yes."
"Good." He pulls out a needle from his pocket (maybe it's a hoodie?). "This will get you to sleep for a few hours. When you wake up, we will check on your progress." My progress?
"My progress on what?" The man moves my head to the side. I'm too tired to fight him.
"Your progress on that concussion." Concussion? I decide not to question it. I feel the needle prick my neck and my thought process go sluggish.
"Oh."
My body goes slack, and I fall asleep.

Sorry about the formatting of this chapter, I'm moving everything over on to tumblr from Wattpad, so it's a little weird. Also the word limit is a huge dick in the ass so sorry about that.

ShapeShifter
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted an update to this story, but I lost inspiration for a while until certain events recently re-inspired me. And as always, I’m tagging @macherie02 as she is on my automatic tag list (though she is now on my Quotev and could see it there)
This is the part three of the ShapeShifter series
Big Cat (Part 1 smut)
Bloody Night (part 2)
Attempting Casual
Nina made her way through the halls of her house, phone in hand while on a call. Thanks to social media, the leopard girl was always able to keep up with her friends that lived out of state, or even out of country, and she currently was video calling with a friend she had known a couple years by this point. Abigail was a only a few years younger than Nina was, them being closer to each other in age than Nina was to her own mate, and the two were actually quite close in talking most days to each other. "I can't believe Lincoln would hurt you like that Nina. That's so unlike him," Abigail commented to the dark haired girl, currently putting her hair up into a bun. She wanted to keep it out of her face while she was drawing, sketchbook in her lap with a quote on the back of the previous page that inspired the drawing. "Do you know what might have triggered it?"
"I mean, I have an idea. Normally Kendall either already has lost or accidentally shape shifts by that point in their fighting which ends the match. But last night he never shifted, never lost control, and he was putting up one hell of a fight. Suddenly the fight was more of a challenge, and Lincoln probably just panicked. And it's not like Lincoln has really been shown anything about his inherited strength or anything like that. Ryan has been around recently for him, but she can only teach so much in such a short amount of time, ya know? He can't control his own instinct and strength yet," Nina told her, making her way to the living room and sitting on the couch. It was quite uncomfortable against the scratches, but there wasn't really anything she could do about that for now.
"I guess that's true. It's been the three of them for quite a long time. So how has everyone been since then? Are things okay now?" Abigail asked her, concerned about how things were holding together.
"Well Bailey doesn't live here, so he hasn't even been told about the fight yet. And Ryan has been staying close to Lincoln, watching over him for now. Poor kid is beating himself up about what happened. I've tried talking to him and letting him know I'll be okay and all that, but that's all still some pretty tough shit to have on your conscience. Then there's Kendall. He could barely move out of bed this morning from just how sore he was and you can tell he's pretty hung up about what happened. I can't blame him really, I just wish I could take all the pain away," the leopard girl admitted to her friend, thinking back to that morning.
"Where is everyone anyway? I don't think I've ever heard your house be so empty," Abigail pointed out.
"Lincoln's asleep. Or maybe at Bailey's. I haven't looked in his room since before I went to bed, so he may have left just before sunrise honestly. Ryan left for our shop before the sun came up to cover my shift since she doesn't want me straining myself. Kendall wanted to go for a run," Nina informed her.
"Didn't you say he was so sore he could barely move this morning? And he decided to go for a run despite that? Dude's more determined than I am when it comes to that," Abigail mused, her curly blonde hair falling out of the bun it was tied into where her side bangs were too short to reach.
"I think he wants some alone time to think about and process last night. Either way my roommates have me trapped here on bed rest because they're afraid I'll break my stitches or something like that. I'm gonna lose my mind if I don't get out of this house soon," the leopard girl rolled her eyes.
"It's been one day. And it's because they are taking care of you Nina," the younger girl reminded her.
"I know I know. But I'm so bored. I'm not even hurt that bad anyway. This is just overkill," the older of the two commented.
In the background, Nina could hear where the front door suddenly opened. "He shouldn't be back yet. He's never back this early when he goes for a run," she mumbled to herself before getting up to see who was walking in the door. The man that stood there, taking off a light jacket, was quite a bit taller than her with shoulder length brown hair and hazel eyes, and he was a pale tan like his oldest brother, causing their middle brother to stand out a bit with his white skin. Nina set her phone down on the window sill by the doorway, opening her arms to hug him. "Hey there Nina. Are Lincoln and Kendall here?" He greeted her, hugging her close to him before they both pulled away.
"I think Lincoln's asleep right now, and Kendall will be back in a little bit. He went for a run to work through everything on his mind right now," Nina told her soon to be older brother, grabbing her phone off of the windowsill and showing him the screen. "Abigail is here though."
"Hey Bailey," Abigail smiled as she looked up from her drawing, waving to him eagerly. "How's the girlfriend?"
"Hey Abby, Miranda's doing well. Thanks for asking," the youngest of the three brothers smiled back to the girl before looking at Nina. "Is everything okay? Did something happen with Kendall?"
"Last night Lincoln and Kendall were messing around like you guys do and Lincoln lost control. He almost hurt Kendall pretty badly last night and we had to pull him off of Kendall. Lincoln accidentally scratched up my back pretty badly when we separated them and I had to get stitches. That's why I'm home and not at work right now," Nina informed him.
Bailey winced at the story. "Yikes. Are you guys all okay though? Like besides the stitches I mean?" Nina hummed softly for a moment, trying to figure out what to even say to that question. In the end, all she could do was sigh and shake her head in response. "They're both really upset about the whole thing honestly. Lincoln hates himself for losing control and hurting me, Kendall is still working through how he feels and is barely speaking to Lincoln if he doesn't have to. I'm trying my best to help them but there's not really much I can do about this."
"I'll let you guys go to let you talk," Abigail commented once Nina finished, ending the call.
"I'm sure they'll get through this Nina. They'll just take some time to figure things out and work through things. Maybe they'll write some songs about it or find some other way to get through it," Bailey assured her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders before kicking the front door closed.
"Yeah, you're right. I still wish I could take this pain from them though. I want them to be their usual happy selves right now," Nina admitted, crossing her arms over her chest before moving to walk into the living room and out of the entry way. "You want something to eat? I'm kinda stuck in here with nothing to do."
"No I ate not too long ago, but thank you. I could use some chocolate milk though if you have it," the hazel eyed boy answered her. He was the quiet one of the three of them, preferring to sit and draw or write or express himself through artistic means. A stark contrast to his oldest brother. And he was a bit more shy in a way, so while the stockiest of the three of them, he typically slouched and almost made himself look smaller subconsciously. It was rather adorable to Nina, and it caused her to see him as a younger brother or adopted child despite him being three years older than her.
Nina went into the kitchen, getting out some chocolate milk from her fridge that she always kept for him. She knew it was his favourite, so it was something she always kept around for him in case he showed up at any point. Every now and again he would stay the night in Lincoln's room or would just show up and crash on the couch some mornings since he had been given a key, so she made sure he had his favourite food and drinks while he was there. She brought the container out to him and handed it over, not really caring if he used a glass or not since he was the only one that typically drank it. "So how have you been Bailey? Have you been able to relax much since getting home?"
"A bit. Miranda has been really helping me settle back into a casual schedule since tour ended. Still can't wait until we get to be on the road again," Bailey admitted to her.
"Yeah, Kendall has been chomping at the bit to get back on the road again too. I have to keep giving him errands to run and things to do while I'm at work even though you guys just got home. But it's still better than not getting to see him at all," Nina commented, sitting next to her future brother on the couch.
"He's just not the type to sit still. You've known that since before you even really met each other though. You commented on it the first time you were around each other, mentioning how you don't really sit still either," he pointed out to her, taking a swig of the chocolate milk.
"That's true. And I really wouldn't want it any other way. It's actually kinda cute to watch him when he gets antsy. Especially when he gets that nervous smile and how his voice gets a bit higher when he's excited or embarrassed." Nina smiled off a bit as she thought about her fiance, getting lost in thought for a moment about him.
"Will you two just get married already. You drive me crazy with all this cute shit," Bailey commented to her.
"We're trying. A wedding takes time to plan though, and we've only been engaged all of two days," she snorted, rolling her eyes at the commentary.
"Wait he finally asked you? No shit! I thought it would take a lot longer for him to finally do it," Bailey grinned to her. "Did he get you a ring?"
Nina held her left hand out to him, letting him see the ring that Kendall had gotten for her. A thin silver band with three stones on it, a purple gem with diamonds on either side of it. Bailey used both hands to hold the edges of her left hand, tilting it to get a good view of the ring. "Wow, this is actually really nice. Did you guys talk about it at all before he asked or was it just kinda spur of the moment?" He asked her, placing her hand down in her lap and smiling to her. She just shrugged in response. "I mean, we did a little bit. Just kinda talk in the quiet moments about what our life would be like together as husband and wife. We talked more about maybe trying for kids but we decided to get married first before having a baby, or at least be able to say we're engaged rather than just dating ya know?"
"That's really fucking cute. Has it been hard not to just go around and telling everyone that you got engaged?" Now Bailey was being a bit teasing again, a cheeky smirk on his tan face.
"It's not that we're keeping it a secret. We've just been a bit busy to really make it public yet. He proposed the other night when we were about to shower before bed and then I had work and then the fight between him and Lincoln happened. It's been a pretty busy couple of days," Nina rolled her eyes as him.
"You guys even shower together? Seriously do you guys leave each other's side at all?" Bailey raised his brows a bit and snorted near the end.
"We don't normally shower together. We were having a romantic evening and he followed me to the shower afterwards. That isn't an occurrence for the average day. Don't get your underwear so twisted up so quickly," Nina answered him, unable to hide how amused the comment still made her.
"Who's getting their underwear twisted?" A new voice now joined the conversation, causing the two to look up in the direction of the new speaker. Lincoln was awake and had decided to come downstairs for something to eat. He caught the end of what Nina had said and just had to figure out what they could be talking about for that comment to be made.
"Your little brother is over the idea of Kendall and I showering together once," Nina filled him in. "Good morning by the way. I can make you something for breakfast if you want."
"Nah, I'll make it. You don't have to make me breakfast. And maybe he wouldn't be so bothered by you two showering together if you didn't do things like have sex with each other in the middle of the woods at night," Lincoln crossed his arms, leaning his hip against a nearby wall that had a good view of his two younger siblings on the couch.
"You guys did what now? That's so gross! There are bugs!" Bailey playfully turned his nose up to her, grinning a bit.
"Listen, we don't exactly plan these things. We were out there and then the mood just hit. You honest to gods can not tell me you never had sex with someone in a weird place like that before. You aren't living if you haven't tried just taking your lover wherever you are when the mood hits," she tried to defend herself, though it seemed she was more digging a deeper hole for herself by this point.
Before either brother could respond to the comment just made by their sister-in-law, the door opened and closed once again, Kendall walking through the door and looking into the living room. Waiting for him there was his middle brother leaning against the wall looking quite amused, his youngest brother on the couch holding chocolate milk looking slightly mortified but wanting to laugh, and his fiance looking embarrassed yet determined. Kendall himself gave a rather confused look over what the conversation could have possibly been to have him walk in to that set up, but he also briefly wondered if he even wanted to know the answer to that question. "Do I even want to know what you guys are talking about right now?"
"We're judging you for fucking Nina in the woods," Lincoln filled him in. "And Nina is trying to say how you aren't living if you have never just, how did she phrase it?, just taken your lover wherever the mood hits."
Nina threw a couch pillow at Lincoln, the vampire boy just laughing as he let it hit him. Bailey could only laugh at the two of them before looking over at his oldest brother, noticing how he was holding his temples to hide the slight red tint that had now spread across his face. "Ya know what? I need a shower. A shower sounds really good right now," the oldest in the room commented, beginning to walk towards the bathroom by the room he shared with his fiance. "Aren't you going to take your shower buddy with you? From the sound of it, you're used to not showering alone," Bailey called out after him.
"I don't know Bailes, are you sure you wanna hear them going at it since they prefer it whenever the mood hits?" Lincoln playfully reminded his little brother, Nina now going a shade of red at their commentary.
"Actually, ya know what, Nina can you come with me? I wanna check your stitches." The room went still once Kendall said that, Lincoln losing his smile and looking off to the floor while Bailey went wide eyed. Despite the warning, the youngest brother was not prepared to hear how cold Kendall sounded when he mentioned the stitches Nina had.
The woman in question looked mildly horrified to have heard the last part come out of Kendall's mouth, her grey eyes wide as Bailey's hazel. Slowly she got up from the couch, walking over towards her fiance. As she passed by Lincoln, she placed a hand on his shoulder, a silent reassurance that was all she could manage in the moment. Kendall took her hand once she caught up to him, guiding her to the bathroom and closing the door while she got up on the counter. She took off her shirt then faced away from him, her eyes downcast to the surface she was sitting on rather than catch his eyes through the mirror. She felt gentle fingers run down her back before undoing the bandage that covered the stitched together scratches. Slow, small kisses crossed her shoulders until hazel eyes looked over what was now uncovered. Once reassured they were healing properly, Kendall looked into the mirror and tried to catch her eyes. Quickly he realized, though, that she wasn't going to meet his eyes. "Nina? What's wrong?"
"Did you really have to say that? Things were finally going well, we were finally getting Lincoln back to himself, did you have to remind him? Make him hate himself all over again?" Nina asked him, keeping her eyes low but turning around now to at least be facing him.
"They were making fun of us, it was bothering you," Kendall tried to explain to her.
"Sibling teasing and making someone hate themselves over something they're still fragile about are two totally different things though Ken," now there eyes met, the intensity of grey irises causing hazel to want to shift away now. "You took it too far with that uncalled for reminder, and you could really hurt him like that."
Kendall swallowed his breath before he could respond, letting her words sink in. She was right, he knew she was. He didn't want to admit it, but she was absolutely right this time. "I'm sorry. You're right, that was just me being angry. I shouldn't have done that." Her eyes softened towards him now, taking his hand and giving it a light squeeze. Softly his forehead rested against hers, their eyes both closing for a moment while she simply just held his hand. "You know I'm not the one who needs to know you're wrong. You know it's your little brother who needs you the most here."
All he could do is nod, leaning against the counter so as to make himself smaller before pulling away to instead rest his head on her shoulder. Her arms wrapped around him as she kissed his temple and let him rest there for a moment. His skin was still a bit warm from being out on a run in the hot sun, especially against her normally cold skin. Despite the conversation they had been having, they were rather relaxed together. Just holding each other as the seconds ticked by slowly. "There's just one thing I think I wanna know before we get to anything else though. How do you always seem to feel like you're freeing no matter where we are?"
"Honestly I have no idea. You're like my own personal heater, though, so I just got lucky that you keep me from freezing," Nina playfully responded to him, finally letting go of him now.
"I'm always glad to warm you up whenever you need," Kendall pulled away as well, winking at her at the end of his comment.
"You're just as bad as your brothers, ya know," Nina rolled her eyes at him, kissing his cheek. "Shouldn't you be getting in the shower right now anyway? You smell horrible."
Kendall laughed for a moment before going to softly peck her lips, holding her chin before pulling away. His free hand ran along where her collar rested, the black strip of leather holding a guitar pick shaped tag with his name on it. Then his hand found a gold chain that she typically kept hidden under her shirt. The only thing gold that she would wear, normally preferring silver. Yet this chain, like her collar, she never took off if she could help it. The gold chain had an actual guitar pick on it, Lincoln's name in black across the white plastic, and he ran it between his fingers for a moment before kissing her cheek. "So when are you going to admit you have a crush on him by the way? And that's why you haven't taken off the necklace he gave you?"
"What do you mean? I'm in love with you Kendall," Nina questioned, a pit beginning to form at his question.
"Nina, I know that. But I also know you were raised around open relationships and pack bonding life styles," Kendall pointed out to her. "You don't have to hide it. Bailey you treat like a brother, but Lincoln? I can tell you see him a bit differently. That you want to love him too."
Nina sighed and looked away, biting her lip for a moment while she thought of what to say next. "I didn't mean to fall for him. But he makes me feel safe, like I can trust him. And honestly I'm a bit curious. But I would never in a million life times be able to get myself to stop loving you enough to leave you for him." Kendall let go of the chain now to stroke her hair, kissing the top of her head. When she looked back up at him, there was almost amusement in his eyes. "I know Nina, I know. And honestly, right now I'm still not really pleased with him from how he hurt you. How you're saying he makes you feel safe after he caused your current stitches I'll never get. But, I'm also not saying that you have to choose between me and him. I know I'm your primary partner, I'll always be your soulmate, but if you want to try having a secondary partner to see if that works for you, then maybe start the conversation."
"You're way too good for me, you know that?" Nina commented, kissing his cheek.
"Nah, I think I am more exactly what you need," Kendall told her before going to hold her close. "And tonight, we can both sit down with Lincoln and just start the conversation. talking won't hurt, it'll just clear the air." Quietly, Nina nodded in agreement.
"Now will you shower?" She jokingly asked him, pulling out of the embrace they were in. "Yeah, now I'm showering."

Tony closed his eyes, expecting to hit the ground at any second.
And then someone yanked him upwards. The wind knocked out of him, Tony couldn't process anything. Fear pulsed through his veins and his head buzzed with pain and racing thoughts. He then was on the floor. It was cold. He curled up, groaning in pain. Gently rubbing his head, he attempted to open his eyes, only to see Clint with a knife pressing against Loki's throat, Steve watching Tony carefully, and Thor threatening his brother.
Tony groaned and turned over, away from Steve and the others.
The fall.
Memories from New York came flooding back. Tony wanted to scream and rip himself apart, but he was too weak and too shaky to do so, so he just started shaking on the floor, groaning quietly. Steve's soft arms wrapped around Tony as Steve pulled Tony's head carefully into his lap. "Shhhh," Steve whispered, "it's okay, Tony." Tony tried to snap himself out of this.
He forced himself upright, pushing away Steve's arms and ignoring the burning pains spreading throughout his entire body. His head pounded. "I'm fine," He hissed, but he was unbalanced on his feet.
"Brother, I told you not to kill any of my friends!" Thor yelled at Loki, who was stuck in a corner with Clint's knife against his neck. Loki shrugged and chuckled.
"Surely that one cannot be your friend?" Loki said, pointing at Tony, "He's weak, immature, and self-centred. And an idiot. Sure," Loki leaned forward, the knife pressing gently into his neck, "he may think he's so clever with all of these toys he made up, but that'll never account for how stupid and careless he is."
Tony took a step backwards. He's told himself the same thing, but now someone was openly stating it and his friends were hearing it. He took a shaky breath. Not here. Not now. He was fine. And if he wasn't, well, back to faking it. Steve took a step towards Tony, reaching his hand out. Straightening his back, Tony put on a sarcastic smile. "Ah, yes, I'm terribly offended by your opinion. I don't even take my friends' opinions into consideration - why would I take yours?" He said sharply. Ah, good. He sounded like Tony Stark again. Finally.
"Because you know I'm right," Loki hissed before Thor hit him hard.
"Loki, how dare you speak of my friends like that? They are all good people, Stark especially. He has the courage to stand up to fools like you!" Loki staggered and Clint pulled the knife away and held it tightly as if he might stab everyone at any second.
Tony felt shivers run down his spine. Right now, without his armour and a weakened body, anyone could take him out. Clint could stab Loki and Thor before anyone blinked and could take down Steve too.
Stabbing Tony would be so easy. But Clint wouldn't do that. Clint was a trained assassin and could give Nat a run for her money, sure, but he was also a dorky family man who cried at Disney movies and dogs. He tried to avoid murder as much as possible these days.
"Yes, Loki," Tony said sourly, "I may be narcissistic and foolish and impulsive, but I'm not the one attacked with a group of alien robots." Tony paused and raised his arms, "I own all of this. I do have a few little toys, though, which I'm sure you'd like to meet."
Loki raised his eyebrows. "You had nothing to save you from," the smirk on his face grew, "the fall."
Tony bit his tongue so hard he could taste metallic blood in his mouth. He raised his head some more, panic running through his body. He wanted to shut down. To sit down and give up and weep. But he couldn't.
He was Tony Stark.
"You're wrong," Tony said, pointing at Thor, "I have friends. What do you have? Nothing but spite and some weak bad guys who'll follow you around." Clint smiled at Tony. It was nice for everyone to see Tony being his sarcastic self.
Instead of a weak, poor, silent ass who could barely move.
Tony had to give credit to the doctor - who he had suspicions about who she could be - because if it weren't for her, his healing process would have been slowed up greatly - he may even be unconscious with broken bones in a hospital if she wasn't there to fix him up.
Tony didn't even know what had been broken or torn. Pepper wouldn't let him read it.
Pepper.
Tony's heart ached. Yes, sure, he might have been in love with both her and Steve while dating, but he did genuinely care for her and if they'd stayed together Tony would have stayed far away from Steve.
But it didn't matter. Pepper didn't want to be with Tony.
But Steve did.
Loki simply laughed. Thor picked him up by the neck. "I'll be punishing him," He said grimly, "I apologize. I thought he'd behave." Thor dragged Loki out and then with a crash of thunder, the two disappeared into the cloudy sky.
Tony rubbed his collarbone. "Well, wasn't that fun and predictable?" He said, walking over to the kitchen and sitting down on one of the bar stools. Sighing, he scanned Clint and Steve's faces.
"I'm sorry, Tony," Steve started, "he's wrong. You're so great, Tony."
Tony scoffed. "Hardly." He replied. "Steve, I'm famous. I get criticism often. It doesn't bother me. What I've learned is that you ignore the hate unless it's too bad. Then you sue that person. It's not very difficult." He explained easily. It did affect him. Every piece of hate. It made him re-think everything.
Now, he usually just had FRIDAY delete all of it. That was simpler.
"Tony, you are pretty good," Clint said, poking his finger on his arrow, "you keep us all together. And make us look cool. And pay for everything."
"I'm tired," Tony said, rubbing his eyes. Sleep did indeed sound good. Temporary death. And with that, Tony swept out of the room and into his bedroom, where he fell asleep before waking up and staring at the wall until morning.
---- next day ----
It was morning. Tony was awake. He'd been awake most of the night, sitting in his room, staring at the wall. Reviewing his regrets. Trying to figure out his feelings.
It was weird that he'd been in love with both Pepper and Steve. That was weird. It kind of made him feel like a cheating bastard. Seventeen years ago, Tony would have been fine with that. But not with Pepper. He took a deep breath. Why did he love Steve? Well, Steve was.... perfect. Kind. Strong. Just... Steve.
Why did Pepper leave him? Did she use her new job as an excuse? Tony didn't blame her. If he were her, he wouldn't want to date him either. Pepper could have just told him she didn't love him. Yes, he'd be heartbroken. But he's heartbroken now, too, right? He shook his head.
"Time, Friday?" Tony asked the room, sitting up straight and stretching.
"Seven o'clock, sir. It is also April Fools day. And Easter. I see we have no plans this year." Friday informed him. Tony sighed and rubbed the back of his head. Ah, yes. Easter. April Fools.
"Any pranks I should know about?" Tony asked.
Friday hesitated, goddamnit. "No, sir."
Sighing, Tony stood up. He was starting to feel more steady - but the lack of sleep caused a headache almost instantly. He winced and rubbed his head before walking out of the bedroom.
A sense of unease overcame him. Clint's face was on everything. "What in the fuck..." Tony whispered, picking up one that fell to the ground. It was badly photoshopped and was a weak picture of Clint sticking out his tongue and winking. He turned it over, wherein cursive purple sharpie, it read 'top or bottom?' "God, Clint, if you weren't my friend I would have stabbed you," he added, looking at it fondly. Clint's cursive sucked.
"Heya," Clint said, walking out. Only, taped to his face was a picture of Tony. Laughing, Tony sat down, shaking his head. Clint came over to him, dressed in very tight pants (which, naturally, were neon lilac) and a blazer - no shirt on underneath.
"Dear god, Clint," Tony said. Clint picked up a pair of Tony's tinted glasses from the coffee table and put it on over the picture. He put his hand up to the picture and pretended to blow kisses to Tony. "That's such a bad picture of me, too, god - wow."
Tony looked up at Steve, who was wearing another pair of Tony's glasses and a graphic T-shirt, complete with a black blazer and black dress pants. The top of Steve's hair was also dusted dark brown - from makeup or something, Tony guessed. He looked... stunning. Absolutely stunning.
Natasha came out next, wearing all black, half her face painted to look like the Iron Man helmet and repulsers drawn on her palms. Clint whistled at her as she posed, pointing her hands at Clint. She made a whistling noise, and when she ceased to whistle, Clint pretended to get hit and flew backwards. He quickly fixed the picture as it moved on his face.
Thor flew out, fabulous facial hair drawn in his own facial hair with a black sharpie. He was also wearing a cardboard sign taped to his chest that said 'Tony Stark.' Bruce followed him, wearing a 'Stark Industries' shirt and colourful glasses, along with his curly grey hair slicked back. Vision had tiny pictures of Tony's face taped along his whole body, and Wanda had 'Stark' written on her cheek. Rhodey came out, actually wearing Tony's suit. Sam followed, wearing an old iron man helmet.
Tony clapped. Clint unbuttoned the blazer and Tony put his hand over his eyes, "Clint, no one wants to see your pathetic abs, no offence." Clint made an offended noise and swatted Tony's hand away from his face. Turns out, in the time Tony had covered his eyes to when he uncovered them, Clint had managed to draw angry eyebrows on the picture. Tony laughed again, eyes wandering to Steve, who was leaning against the wall, smiling warmly.
Tony ripped the picture off of Clint's face which had sharpie all over it. He had 'Tony' on one cheek, 'Stark' on the other, Sharpie-made facial hair, and 'billionaire playboy' written on his forehead. "Clint-" Tony paused, raising his eyebrows, "-what even are you?"
"Billionaire playboy," Clint said. A few moments later, he added, "I wish."
"Question. Does this come off?" Thor interrupted, stroking his beard, mixing the blonde facial hair with the black sharpie. "I wish to show my friends back home. I believe they'll enjoy this. Plus, today is your... E-a-ster. I don't mean to intrude."
"No, no, don't worry. Easter isn't something people can ruin." Steve said quickly, putting a hand on Thor's arm, smiling. "Easter is fun. The Sharpie on your face should last a while, after all. You'll get candy today. Lots of it."
"Alright," Thor said, grinning, "I shall join you."
"Great. Friday, show me places we can go." Tony said, flicking his wrist. A screen popped up in front of them with lists of places charities were holding egg hunts. "That one," Tony said, pointing to one entitled 'The Northfolk Easter Egg Shenanigans'.
"Sir, this one is being held at a facility entitled 'Northfolk Charity for Cancer Research and Children's Hospitals'. It donates all money to research for cancer and other terminal illnesses and regularly donates to children's hospitals and schools around the world. I've sent a message asking them for permission to join them." Friday replied without missing a beat. "They replied that you and the Avengers were gladly welcomed as Easter is a day no one should miss out on, and the children there cannot wait to meet their favourite heroes and role models."
Steve smiled. "Tony Stark spends his Easters as charity events?" He said, eyebrows raised, cheeks a little pink as he adjusted the glasses. He walked so he was standing behind the couch where Tony was sitting.
"I secretly enjoy seeing children think I'm incredible because the adults either want my money, my body or want to kill me," Tony said simply, closing his eyes and motioning with his head to his body, "or are you guys, which is probably an unhealthy mix of all three."
He opened his eyes to hear his friends laughing and Steve's eyes sparkling. "I never knew you did this," Steve said, putting a hand on Tony's shoulder, "you always looked like the type of person who stayed home on Easter." He slipped off the glasses and slid them on Tony's face gently.
Tony adjusted them so they fit correctly on his face and looked up at Steve, touching his hand for a second before he realized the rest of the team was making 'awww' noises. He stood up and looked at them. "Okay, guys," Tony said, "I don't know if we should all go dressed like this," he motioned to the entirety of Clint. He looked down at himself. He'd thrown on a simple black t-shirt and some sweatpants for bed.
They all nodded and went off to separate rooms to grab clothes and make themselves look at least somewhat presentable. Tony walked into his room and took off the glasses, looking at them for a second. He kissed them gently before setting them down and taking out a suit to wear.
He quickly got changed. He adjusted the thing on his leg, sighing. He didn't want to wear it, but he was worried without it he'd be off balance and wouldn't be strong enough to walk. At least the brace-like mechanical thing wasn't that noticeable. He bit his lip and walked out, where Steve was standing. He didn't change his clothes - he didn't need to.
Natasha had washed her face but didn't change her outfit. Rhodey was wearing a simple suit. Sam was matching him. Thor and Vision were wearing their normal apparel, Wanda was wearing a not-so-fancy red dress with flowers on it, and Clint was wearing a fancy suit.
"Lovely. Now, all of you pile into the car, I'm going to prepare some candy to give out. Go." Tony said, shooing them out. When everyone was out, he turned and clicked a button and his DUM-E robots activated, coming up to him, making cute little robotic noises. "Protocol Easter. I want 53 eggs hidden in ridiculous places around the place. 109 little-stuffed chicks. 17 stuffed sheep. It better be done before I get home or I'll dismantle all of you. Friday, you're in charge, hon." He grabbed his keys, threw them into the air and caught them, and walked out the door.
"Happy! Lovely to see you. Is the kid here?" Tony said, greeting Happy, who was driving their extravagant limousine. Happy nodded, opening the door for Tony. Tony saw all of his friends sitting around awkwardly, along with Peter, whose eyes lit up when he saw Tony.
"Mr Stark!" Peter exclaimed. Tony sat down next to him, patting his knee.
"Hey, kid. Happy, Friday should be sending you the address. Northfolk. Quickly." Tony said, looking down at his watch. 10:00 am. They were five minutes late already.
Happy nodded and started to drive.
"Mr Stark, happy Easter! I'm so glad I get to spend it with you!" Peter said, bubbling with excitement.
"Yeah, kid," Tony said. I'm glad you're here too, his mind said. He smiled at Peter and pulled a few chocolate eggs from his pocket and gave them to Peter. White chocolate - Peter's favourite. Tony put his arm around Peter and hugged him.
Peter made a squealing noise and Tony let go, rubbing his ears. His head begun to spin. Breathe in, then out. Tony was fine. He pushed away the anxiety and smiled, looking at Steve, who stared back, a ghost of a smile on his face, blue eyes bright.
"Goddamnit!" Happy screamed as he slammed on the brakes, stopping short. Tony put his hand out, stopping Peter from flying forward.
"Peter! Put on your goddamned seat belt!" Tony yelled, pointing to his own seatbelt. Peter quickly scrambled to buckle up, eyes showing fear as he looked up at Tony, who was digging his fingernails into Peter's hand without realizing it. Peter winced in pain. Tony let go, shaking. He opened his hand and stretched his fingers. "Peter, I'm sorry-" Tony murmured, looking at Peter's shaking hand, where there were little red marks from Tony. Peter didn't say anything.
Tony took a deep breath as they arrived. He rubbed his arm vigorously, clenching his jaw. He prepared to put on a fake smile.
The children all stopped and stared in awe as their favourite heroes got out of the car. Happy popped the trunk and threw Steve his shield. "Captain America!" one girl exclaimed, jumping up and down. Tony was glad Steve was getting the attention. Steve sat down on the ground, and children came over, poking him and asking him questions. The rest of the team did the same.
A little girl came over to Tony. "Is Pepper going to come?" she asked sweetly. Tony looked up at her, smiled, and shook his head gently.
"No, she's busy this year." The little girl frowned and walked away towards Rhodey. Tony rubbed his head gently, still shaken. "Come on, Stark," Tony whispered to himself, "it's Easter. Don't ruin it." He remembered all the times his father had gotten mad on Easter and ruined the day. All the times his mother and father were gone on Easter.
All the times he used to be with Pepper on Easter, visiting hospitals, giving out candy and cash.
But now Pepper was gone.
He shook his head and punched his arm as discreetly as he could. Standing, he went to grab the buckets of candy Happy always had on Easter. He handed out the chocolate to every kiddo who wanted some. Only three kids said thank you, Tony noticed. He didn't say thank you ever, so he couldn't really talk, though.
"Alright, folks!" A tall man said. He was dressed in mom jeans and had flowers in his semi-long hair. "Oh, wow, hello Avengers! My name is Harlem, and I'm hosting tonight! Why don't we all go in for food?"
The children all cheered in response and ran into the building. Steve stood and walked over to Tony, extending his hand. Tony took it and Steve helped him up. Tony looked at Steve, brown eyes portraying sadness. Steve noticed. "What's wrong?"
"I-" Tony began, "-nothing. I'm hungry. Let's go." Tony said, patting Steve on the back before walking inside. He wasn't hungry. If he ate, he was afraid he'd get sick. His stomach ached. He followed Bruce around, muttering about electrons and how he missed his suits. Bruce said a few sympathetic comments now and then, but for the most part, he was focused on his food.
Clint was busy showing the kids how he could name any flower and Natasha was showing a group of eating children how to punch correctly - but also telling them that punching people was, in fact, not something you should do all the time.
"Mr Stark?" A little boy asked, walking up to Tony, "How did it feel like the be in space?"
Tony tried to repress the memories. The fall. The cold. The feel of death. "Alright," Tony answered, looking at the ceiling. The kid smiled.
"How did you survive the falling? You fell a lot."
"I was caught," Tony said quickly, out of breath. Bruce noticed this.
"Hey, kiddo. I caught him. Well, the Hulk did. How about we talk about something else, hmm?" Bruce suggested softly.
"Oh, okay. Are you gay?" The kid asked.
"Wh- I- uh-" Tony began, stuttering. There were no cameras. No fans. Just a child and Bruce. "Sure."
"Are you dating Dr Banner?" The kid asked.
"No," Tony answered simply.
"Who, then?"
"Uh-" Tony paused, "no one."
"Oh, okay. What happened to Pepper? Did she not like you?"
"I've got to go-" Tony said, standing, rubbing his arm. Bruce began talking to the child firmly, but Tony didn't listen. He stumbled away. Once he was outside, he collapsed near a tree, taking shelter in its comforting shade.
Steve followed him, sitting down next to him silently. "You okay?" He asked gently.
"Always," Tony replied sharply, running a hand through his hair and exhaling. "It was getting tight in there. I don't do too well with lots of kids asking me questions left and right." He lied. Steve grabbed Tony's hand.
"Ever since we- uh- confirmed we were dating - did we confirm it? Between ourselves? - our relationship has gotten even more confusing and awkward. Tony, I won't be hurt if you don't want to - uh - date." Steve said, staring at the sky.
"I do," Tony confirmed softly, squeezing Steve's hand.
"I do too. So, now we're dating. Officially. Indefinitely. Unless you change your mind, of course," Steve said.
"Or if you change yours," Tony added, "I'm a handful."
"But now you're my- uh- handful. Sorry. I'm not too good at this whole romance thing." Steve admitted, rubbing the back of his head.
Tony moved quickly, grabbing the collar of Steve's shirt and pulling him close, "I don't care. You'll always be my Captain Romance." He didn't lean in to kiss him, though. Steve was old style. Slow, serious relationship - that's what he was probably looking for. Instead, Tony kissed Steve on the forehead and sat so his legs were touching Steve's.
"Egg hunt time!" The host of the event - Harlem - called out. The children ran out and lined up. "Now, because we have a visitor from another planet who's never experienced Easter, there are two egg hunts. The kiddos here," he motioned to the children, "will have their hunt in the backyard. The heroes will be doing it in a park just down the street. Heroes, it was fantastic having you here. And a big thank you to Mr Stark for his generous donation! Ms Hansen will escort you and host you."
A small lady with red hair walked over to them, face red. The Avengers nodded, saluting the children and Harlem, who did the same back. They then followed the lady down the street and to a large park. Tony scanned the area, finding the hidden eggs with his eyes so he could get them as fast as possible. It may seem childish - but Tony hates losing at anything, and egg hunts were no exception.
"Okay. So, for those of you who are new to this, the goal is to find all the eggs. It doesn't really matter who finds the most or who is the quickest, but if you wish to race, fine. But, in the end, we do make sure everyone has an equal amount." Ms Hansen explained. Thor nodded. "Also, please do not break anything. Now, there are baskets for each of you." She motioned to a table with baskets on it.
They each grabbed one. "Okay. Three, two, one... start!" She said.
Tony raced into action, limping as fast as he could, snatching up eggs from the ground. He picked up two from the grass and then one from under a table. He found three buried under some rocks. He ignored it when Thor snatched one from under his nose.
Then he spotted it. It was big, golden, and hidden in the leaves. His eyes widened. This one would get him the win, for sure. He walked over to the tree and started climbing, ignoring the burning pains in his arms and legs as he manoeuvred himself onto the first branch. Looking down, he took a shaky breath. Could he climb higher?
Could he risk the fall?
He pushed onward, onto the next branch. He stood on it slowly, reaching for it, as it was just above him. However, he just couldn't get it. Goddamn him being short. He gritted his teeth and pulled himself onto the next branch.
Crrrack. It made an ugly, unsettling noise.
"Tony!" Steve cried, running over to the tree, dropping his basket full of one (1) egg.
Tony reached for the egg. As he grabbed it, catastrophe occurred - as it always does.
The branch creaked and collapsed under him. Tony tried to grab the other branches - but his hands simply slipped off of them, bleeding and raw. Just as he prepared himself to hit the ground - he hit something else instead. Something much gentler.
Or maybe he had passed out or was hallucinating.
Steve caught him with a soft 'oof,' gently holding Tony and scanning him, looking for any injuries besides his scraped up hands. "Well, that was extravagant," Tony said, chuckling. Steve put him down gently, and Tony stood unsteadily on his feet. He picked up the big egg and showed Steve it. "Look! I think I win. I got nine eggs - ten if you count this beauty - and I literally fell out of a tree. I think I win," Tony explained, hands shaking and bleeding all over his's own shirt.
"God, fine! You win, Tony, good god! Hey, Ms Hansen, do you, by any chance, have a first aid kit?" Steve said hurriedly. Ms Hansen ran over, first aid kit in hand, looking extra pale as she stared down at the blood. Steve took it from her and slowly wrapped Tony's hands in gauze. Tony waited impatiently. Clint came over and grabbed one of Tony's hands that wasn't covered in gauze yet.
"And y'all think I'm the careless one," Clint huffed. He looked jealously at Tony's basket. "I guess you do win. I stole all of Natasha's and my basket still doesn't look as pathetic as yours."
Tony smirked, "I always win, Clint, you better step up your game," he didn't bother to tell Clint how Natasha was sneaking up behind him, water bottle in hand, eyes sparkling, eager for revenge.
"For fu- I mean- for heck's sake, Nat!" Clint cried as the cold water splashed on him. Natasha laughed at him, smacking the back of his head playfully and gently. Clint spun around and tried to grab the half-empty water bottle from her, but she grabbed his hand and poured the rest on him, dousing him with the cold liquid.
Tony chuckled. "Yes, congrats, Mr Stark, you got the most eggs, plus you found the lucky golden egg, so you win. Now, if all of you could dump your eggs out in a pile." Ms Hansen said. Tony dumped his and the other Avengers followed suit. "You can keep the golden egg, Mr Stark, you've earned it."
Tony gave the others a significant look and opened it. Inside was a picture of all the Avengers drawn in crayon. "A young child with cancer drew that," the host informed them, "he died earlier this week. It was his wish for his drawing to get to the Avengers - his heroes."
Tony stared down at it. It was intricate and he guessed it must have been something the child was working on for a long time. He ran his fingers over it gently. In the corner, there was a small signature. "His name was Pete. Pete Nunez." Ms Hansen added.
"Thank you for giving it to me - us," Tony said softly. Children and fanart were a weakness of his. Now to know the child who made this picture was dead - it hurt. He tore his eyes away from it. He could cry about it later. Not now.
Ms Hansen gave them each seven eggs. They all opened it, pleased to find chocolates of all kinds. Tony gave half of his to Peter - who wouldn't talk to him. He said a small 'thank you' to Tony and went to sit by Thor. Tony's heart ached. First Pepper, now the kid.
"Thank you, Ms Hansen. Friday will be transferring 10K to your account tonight." Tony said, shaking her hand. She smiled and lit up, nodding eagerly.
"Thank you, Mr Stark, your donation and the Avengers visit means the world to us," she said, shaking everyone's hand.
"You're quite welcome. Anytime." Clint said, bowing and kissing her hand, making her chuckle.
"Well, I must be going... Harlem probably can't last long with sugar-high kids alone for long..." She said before running off. Tony waved at her.
"Alright, let's go back home," Tony said, adjusting his coat. He glanced at Peter. "Hey, kid, can you come with me for a second?" He asked, eyes burning into Peter's. Peter gave a hard look at Tony before following him off to a corner. "You guys go ahead - Happy will get ya' situated," Tony called to his friends, pulling Peter off to the side. He grasped Peter's hand and examined it. There were no marks anymore.
"Mr Stark, I'm fine, I'm sorry--" Peter began.
"Don't. You have no reason to be sorry. It was my fault. I'm sorry, kid. I... I didn't mean to." Tony apologized, not looking at Peter.
"It's been a tough few weeks. Forget about it, okay? I'm okay." Peter said quickly, looking Tony in the eyes. Tony stared down at him.
"Okay. Done - forgotten. Let's go." Tony said, shrugging. They walked over to the car and hopped in, Happy driving them home.
----- time skip -----
As Tony stepped into the house, he grinned, already seeing eggs peak out of random places. Clint gasped as he stepped on one as he took off his shoes. Inside was a picture of Tony. Clint's eyes lit up. "How many did you hide?" he asked, thrilled.
"Twenty," Tony lied. "Exactly twenty. No more, no less."
Clint grinned, eyes flashing at Natasha competitively. Peter, however, jumped right into the hunt and jumped around the house, picking up five in the living room.
---- time skip, again (whoops) ----
Tony sat down next to Steve without looking at him. Peter had Clint had collected twenty-three eggs, yelled at Tony playfully for lying, and found three of both the chicks and sheep. Peter went home - he needed to get back to May. Clint and Natasha were fighting over chocolate in their room - they had a bunk bed. Clint had declared that 'he was a top' and so naturally he should get the top bunk. Natasha had smacked him but allowed him to claim the top bunk. Bruce was colouring - a stress reliever, he'd say but was really just because he was a talented artist and loved to draw and colour. So, with him being so talented, he was using watercolours instead of coloured pencils, pens, or markers, as less-talented people would. Tony had tried once, but the watercolour didn't agree with him and he ended up failing. Steve could draw but didn't like to colour his work. In fact, Tony had only ever seen one drawing Steve had made. It was one of all the Avengers, sketched in pencil, but it was fantastic.
Rhodey was commenting with Sam about some nonsense about missions they've flown. Thor had flown back to his people to show them his new facial hair made by the sharpie. "So, Steve," Tony began, "today was... interesting."
"Yeah," Steve said, smiling a little, "I had fun."
"So, are still sure you want to date me?" Tony whispered, smirking.
"Positive, Tony."
"You won't do a Pepper on me, will you? Make me all attached to you and then have to do life? Because I will become your life, Steve, I swear. Y'know, they say life is hell. I guess I am hellish." Tony said in a threatening way.
Steve laughed, "No, I won't - I don't really have much of a life anyways."
"God, you sound like Peter. 'I don't have a life, so please give me a mission,'" Tony mocked Peter's voice, "well, I have news for you, you do have a life, Captain America. America's Loveliest Hero." He playfully punched Steve's arm. Steve's laugh turned into a chuckle.
"Aw, you really think I'm lovely?"
"America does."
"America has good taste."
"America has awful taste - just look at the politics! Gun control! Steve, hold my beer, I'm going to shoot the next fucker who says that we don't need gun control - wait, that's not how I should solve my problems, especially this one."
"So I'm not lovely?" Steve asked, pouting.
"No," Tony replied, "you're alluring. Exquisite." He paused, "Delicious."
"De - what?" Steve said, raising his eyebrows, face turning red.
"I memorized the synonyms for 'lovely.' Delicious was one of them." Tony shrugged but was glad that made Steve blush.
"You're a dork."
"I prefer the term 'genius.'"
"You are a genius."
"No, you are."
"Tony!" Steve objected, but Tony simply smiled and Steve wrapped his arm around him, pulling him close. Tony felt the warmth from Steve's hands and melted into his touch. He was so warm. Warm - Tony checked Steve's forehead, worried he might be sick. "What are you doing, Tony?" Steve said, laughing a little as Tony rested his hand on Steve's forehead.
Tony was glad to feel that Steve's body was warm but he wasn't ill. "I was worried you were sick - I've had enough hospital time, I don't want to get sick and end back in that hellhole."
"Oh, of course. You aren't just concerned for me?"
Tony grinned, "Well, that comes along with you being mine - yes, I am concerned for you, but right now, more so for me." That was a lie - Tony wasn't concerned for himself at all. Not anymore. But he couldn't look like a total fucking softie.
Steve scoffed, "of course. Well, I wouldn't want to get you sick anyway."
Tony leaned away from Steve. Can't look soft or gentle. No cuddling. Gotta act tough. Completely tough. Stone cold. Cold but not too cold to not love. Tony grabbed Steve's hand. "Ooh! Gosh, Tony - your hands are freezing!" Steve exclaimed. He clasped his other hand over Tony's other hand. Tony stared down at their hands.
Pepper and Tony never really held hands. They had some gentle moments like this, but for the most part, they were swamped with business and usually just kissed or hugged. But this - the electricity - the love - that swam through they connected hands - it was spectacular. Tony felt warm - loved - special. He smiled to himself. "My hands are always cold. Like the machines I work on - well, used to. I wish you'd let me get back to work. This is stupid."
"Tony - you can't work yet. You've been home for what - three, four days? I know you've been acting like your usual self, but I can see it every time you're in pain. Your nose crinkles and you look almost... angry. You rub your hands and try to ignore it." Steve said.
Tony looked at him. "You're like a stalker. No - I don't do that when I'm hurting. I'm fine." It was a lie, of course, all of it.
"Tony, you can't keep lying to me..." Steve said. He sounded almost... disappointed. Tony's heart skipped a beat. Did he upset Steve? Was Steve mad at him for not telling the truth? Oh, God, was he ruining the relationship already.
"I'm honestly fine, Steve. The first day was rough, yes, but -" he paused, "I'm feeling better. Way better." It wasn't a total lie - he did feel much better. Occasionally he'd feel sick or be hurting, but hey, he wasn't puking everywhere now.
Tony's face flushed. That night, Steve and Clint had helped him get undressed. And into a tub.
"You're blushing. Why?" Steve asked, sounded half-amused, half-concerned.
"I just thought of something," Tony said, trying to make up a story - god, they couldn't talk about that night - it was too awkward, "1998. May. There was this girl -"
"Tony! I don't need to know about that."
"She was very... flexible."
"Tony!" Steve cried, covering his ears, hands leaving Tony's.
Clint walked back into the room, clearly drunk. "Didja know that if... Steve was named... Stove... your guys' names would match... Stove and Tones - sold-mates."
"How much did you drink, Clint?" Tony said, surprised. "And, dear, my name is Tony, not Tones."
"Ohhh, shut up, Toby, your names is Tones - Secret Agent Tones," Clint said, his wors slurring.
"Clint! Back in the bathroom before you puke again!" Natasha called, looking exceptionally angry. Tony cringed under her glare. "Sorry, guys. Clint got into a batch of serious stuff."
"How?" Steve asked.
"I don't know. I'll smack him until he tells me." She hissed. Steve shifted and looked down.
Clint sauntered over to her, stumbling, looking like a dramatic actor almost, before stopping right in front of her and putting a hand to his mouth. Natasha shoved him into the bathroom quickly.
Steve looked at Tony, concerned.
"I'm sure he's fine," Tony told him, patting him gently on the shoulder, missing their hands intertwined. But he wouldn't ask for the attention.

Osaka, metal pins, glass shards... appendix 6
The police located her in the hospital a week or so afterwards, her fractured arms and wrists in plaster, her fingers were reattached, her fractured right leg in a support and her ribs strapped. They asked her what had happened. The police commands were refused. She told them the truth, asking the doctors and nurses to remain to protect her. She told them she wouldn't speak unless there were doctors and nurses there, except even then she never told them that the woman was the killer. She was just 15, it took a year for her to recover. Her family came to see her after a few weeks, the police had contacted them. She never answered to her name again, the hospital staff called her Osaka. Her small brother had died, later she realized that her parents had selected her brother to live and her to die. Though she eventually returned home they never really spoke again. She loved her hand therapist, her physiotherapist, her doctors, nurses and surgeons but mostly her hand therapist. She refused to leave the hospital in Osaka when her parents wanted to move her to Tokyo. She insisted on staying until she could walk out of the hospital. She said her name was now Osaka, eventually having osaka tattooed in english on her right forearm, and in smaller kanji characters on her left arm. She never realized how much she'd changed, her parents were guilt ridden and never recovered from the child selection that went wrong. When she returned to school a year later, she always had a rounders bat in her backpack which she wore as a sidepack with the handle facing forward. The school tried to order her around and failed. When her schoolmistresses instructed her on a rule of grammar or arithmetic or behavior, she was not informing, any more than she was informing herself when she questioned her students. She did not instruct so much as give orders or commands. She never remembered being the model student she had once been. Osaka found it difficult, nearly impossible to trust anyone. The girls called her yakuza because of her missing small finger on her left hand. A few girls tried to bully her and stopped after she started hitting them with the rounders bat. In the disciplinary office she merely said - they shouldn't have tried to push me around, if they do it again I'll hurt them. They thought she hadn't recovered from the kidnapping [...] Osaka thought she might. The school counselor saw her every week for two years indirectly helping her to pretend she was normal. Her grades never recovered, she had became indifferent. She couldn't learn to fight with her hands and her weakened leg so she took up kendo, the instructor was always slightly worried by the intensity and situational viciousness that was always just below the surface. She would always be disabled she thought. Even then she already wanted to see the woman again... Just once she said, just once to say thank-you. [...] Time and years passed, on leaving school she went to an american university on the coast. She developed a deep love for Shklovsky and Brecht. When her parents died in her third year she didn't go to their funeral. By this time she had acknowledged that her mother hated her for surviving. Eight years had passed. A man tried to mug her on the east-side, she fractured his skull with her rounders bat and went for his partner who sensibly ran. In the police station She cried for a 15 year old self and flew back to japan to accept the inheritance and to see if she could find the woman. Whenever she walked through the airport scanners the metal pins in her leg set the alarms off. She took to wearing inconvenient short skirts so she could easily show her scared bare leg to the security guards and changed into jeans on the plane. It took half a year to find a trace, which happened almost accidentally when she identified the tattoo. five months after her arrival back in Japan Osaka walked into the bar of the hotel the gang owned, booked a room and asked to see a female gang member with a single dragon tattoo. Twenty four hours later they pointed her towards a man and two women, one of the women was western, the others were Japanese. They asked who she was and what she wanted. I am looking for the woman who saved my life eight years ago in Osaka. She was about my age, perhaps older now with a dragon tattoo. She rescued me, saved me. I would like to see her. He remembered, they looked at her, so your the girl, I wondered about you. The japanese woman introduced herself as Seo and gave her a business card, that's me. I'll see you here tomorrow morning and tell you what we can do. Osaka walked off limping slightly as her leg was aching. They watched her limp off. The next morning she was told that the woman she was looking for lived in London, told her, told her, told her her name and an office address. Told her to be careful. Osaka recognized that the woman's utterances were order words. She smiled in memory of reading plateau 4. Her leg was not hurting, so she ignored the orders. Osaka still carried her rounders bat. It took a few weeks, a month for Osaka to leave for london, she found the address, stayed in a hotel for a week before renting a studio flat for three months. She got a job as a barista in the cafe next to the building. She worked and observed the building for a month and had seen her enter the building a few times. Seeing her she didn't know what she wanted to do. Approach and speak? bow and speak ? Beg forgiveness ? Proclaim love ? Osaka watched the office from the cafe, the counter was accidentally placed so that she could watch the building entrance whilst she made coffees and teas. Sometimes she watched the woman go into the building and leave, she knew it was her because her face was imprinted on her mind, twice she had seen her leave the building with a man, they walked off together holding hands. After a month she still couldn't decide to speak, to present herself. [...]
One Tuesday the problem resolved itself. on an exceptionally hot day, the air temperature well over 30 degrees, she was wearing a white short sleeved tee shirt, black jeans with a support around her knee, because her leg was hurting just a little, her left hand was twinging, her missing finger hurting and she had a slight stress headache. ((What happened to your leg the manager asked ? She told him her well rehearsed fiction/story, when I was 15 I was hurt in a car crash, they put metal support pins in my leg. Sometimes, like today it hurts a little. It happened in Osaka, she tapped her tattoos with her fingers and smiled at him. She thought he was quite nice and probably harmless)) [...] She had been there a month when a woman and one of her assistants came in to collect a set of coffees for a meeting. The woman looked at the youngish Japanese woman, a little muscular, white short sleeved teeshirt, who spoke english with a slight american/tokyo accent. Tattoos on her forearms, osaka on the right arm, written in kanji on her left. Her server badge had her name "Osaka Park" printed on it. "Ïs that your name?" she asked her. "Yes, everyone calls me Osaka, do you work for Kwarbarti ?" "Yes. You have an unusual name." " Ï changed it when I was in hospital 8 or nine years ago." she paused. " Here you are." placing the last of the coffees in the cardboard trays. Osaka watched them leave. Quickly cleaning the surfaces of the machine before starting the next order.
[…The director was sitting on the sofa next to her desk when they arrived with the trays. The assistant was saying "I wonder what her story is?" to Nancy. "Whose story?" Park asked them. "The barista, Osaka..." She remembered the teenage girl she should have killed, the trouble her misunderstanding had caused, (was it misunderstanding or had she simply not wanted to kill the tortured girl, even when she had told him about it she hadn't known.) She stood up. "Ï need to check something" Park walked into the cafe and recognized her immediately. Osaka stepped out from behind the counter and to the astonishment of the manager, and to the embarrassment of Park stepped forward and two metres away bowed. "It's you. Thankyou.” The cafe stopped. Time froze. A Schrodinger cat moment. A wave, particle, or both. People looking at the two women. Park pulled her over to a corner table and looking at her face said "I never expected to see you again." She stroked her arm, "your called Osaka." "I kept the name you gave me that day. Was I named after the city or the Brecht poem?" "I don't know most probably the poem." [They sat and talked, the manager brought them tea and bottles of lemonade and watched them between serving customers. She explained about her leg, the pins in her leg, how they hurt sometimes. Her hands only on cold days. Eventually Park began to tell about her life in exile. Though this may have been later ... ]]Hours later in the early evening, in Park’s house, whilst the man Park lived with was cooking in impromptu meal, badly, in the kitchen, with a background of an unknown jazz piano music, she told park more about her body, the titanium in her leg, the piece of titanium in her finger, her fractures and ribs, the alarms she always set off, her parents betrayal, her dead brother, the inheritance, the indecisiveness, everything, everything. Then she told her that she just wanted to say thank you. Just once before she continued her life. Park told her whilst he was in the kitchen that that she could say anything, She gestures at the kitchen. Sam knows everything, can know anything, its all been so accidental, an ongoing experiment, life is an experimental activity... Trust blossomed.
Extra irrelevant passages for the reader to understand the psychosis of the repressive state apparatus, they do not have to be read.
Nancy reported about Osaka's appearance to her excellency, ‘She said she is probably family, part of Sam and Parks. I asked what her relationship actually is, my daughter or sister. Her excellency groaned my life as police has become so problematic, as if I don't have enough problems with Sam and Park. (Chaos that mighty agent of war machines, is not confined to cathedrals, it infects the police that supports them. In truth it fills the air, seas, the universe and the everyday, affecting us all.) Nancy asked whether she had ever thought of making him leave the police ? Her Excellency explained it was easier to keep her under surveillance if we made him stay. And i misunderstood/underestimated how much he would change. Nancy said thoughtfully that she found it difficult to believe that Park is/was a psychopathic murderer. There is nothing in any of the files mentioning anyone who could be this young woman Osaka. I think park must have had all the records referring to her removed. Possibly Park has been protecting her, probably for a decade.
Park hugged him in the doorway, whispering something into his shoulder. Osaka wondered what she said. Park looked at her as they drove off. I thanked him for being so understanding, and other more private things. She drove her south to the studio apartment. Plus one. The war machine extended...

I am soon to be 17 and take my driving test, I have an audi 80 tdi being offered to me for 50 with the only fault being a broken break light. It is a 1.9 litre diesel and is apparently (according to the internet) cheap to fuel. Insurance no doubt on a 2.0 litre would be expensive. How much do you think it would cost me to insure ? How could I reduce this cost? Is it worth getting a pass plus certificate? Car Insurance Cancelled due to not sending documentation...?
I recently had a car insurance policy cancelled due to not sending off my documentation (driving licence & counterpart) in time. So, I started to apply for a new quote, and it asked if I'd ever had a policy cancelled, I ticked yes, and in comparison to begin with the quote doubled. This was because of the cancelled policy. Affordable medical/prescription insurance for a heart transplant recipient.?
I had a heart transplant 10 years ago, and I am looking for a more affordable insurance plan, currently I use Cigna, and they're running me over $400 a month, plus a $50 dollar fee per prescription I am on, which runs me another $250-300 dollars every three months. I just recently graduated college, and am 24 years old, so my father's insurance at work no longer covers me. I'm not very familiar with insurance plans, but I would obviously need one that would accept my pre-exsiting condition of a heart transplant, and have a prescription plan, cover doctor visits, emergency care and anything else people can recommend that would be important. Insurance problems with car theft?
a friend of mine is an american citizen living in Juarez, Mexico because of his wife is a Mexican citizen that can't cross until her papers are finalized.. So he works here and goes back to Juarez for the night and comes back in the morning.. the other day on his way home.. he stopped at the store and when he walked out.. someone stole his truck.. he called the police and reported a stolen truck but with no info given about himself or the truck, just merely a black suburban... now he's back in the states.. and wants to report it stolen here from a friends house or something... not at a store because walmart has video cameras in their parking lots.. so how can he proceed in doing this.. he doesn't want to cause insurance fraud but he has nothing left besides his truck.. if he tells the insurance company it was stolen across the border, there is no policy on where it was stolen, so Juarez, Mexico is out of their jurisdiction.. how can he do this without getting in trouble.. he's worried about the border itself.. because they snap a photo of you coming into the united states.. but do they snap a photo of you when they get out? any info on what he can do to help his situation would help so much.. thank you""

Used Car Insurance/Registration?
I just recently got my license (which was long overdue) and now I'm looking into buying a car from Advantage Auto Sales. My question is regarding the insurance and registration for the car I'm going to be buying. Should I purchase insurance, then put the down payment on the car, and then go register it after I have it in my possession? I've already gotten an insurance quote for one particular car that I was looking it, but I did change my mind due to location issues, but I can't imagine that would change the price up too much considering the car I'm looking at is actually newer than the one I got the quote on. At any rate, what should be my order of operations? 1. Insurance 2. Car 3. Registration OR 1. Insurance 2. Registration 3. Car Sorry if I'm being confusing. ""What kind of qualities should I look for when purchasing a car? ie insurance, modern elements...?""
For experienced buyers: As an entry level analyst looking to purchase a car, I was hoping to get some ideas about my first big purchase. My norm has usually been purchasing something and regretting it some time down the road ie Bought a Dell laptop, turns out it heats up a lot. Or a new smartphone (android), turns out it freezes plenty. So I want to purchase a car, and was hoping if someone who is experienced could possibly take some time off to tell me what I should look out for. I understand insurance is a *****, and even though cars are affordable on lease, the insurance will get you. My objective: Car : Lease a pre-owned or 2nd hand car, possibly 2012 or 2013 model, 4 door, sedan. Insurance : Max coverage, low payment (ideal but, shoot for the stars and....) Questions: I understand there are qualities or modern elements like lane stabilizer and effective cruise control that can reduce insurance coverage. How effective can they be? What kind of sedans have low insurance and are modernistic, such as built in navigation and those cool looking monitors? (kind of childish) Which insurance coverages are the most important, there is basic, comprehensive.... If you need additional information, I will be checking this question hourly and will be glad to provide additional information. Thanks!""

How much would my insurance premium rise be? Car accident.?
On the interstate going home from work, it started raining just as I entered, really hard. Then I saw this white car in front of me, who stepped on his brakes, and as soon as I saw that, I stepped on mines. I couldn't swerve to the right where the gravel and grass were cause the white car was already headed that way , since it was raining my brakes didn't help and instead my car slid and his the back left corner of the white cars, and then I hitted a gray car from behind. My car is messed up really bad and cannot be repaired. When I gained enough sense to realized what just happened, there was 5 cars that had stopped, but mines was the only one badly damaged, unrepairable. Nobody was injured, and everyone's car was still drivable. The officer basically said it was my fault, cause I couldn't stop MY car from hitting the other two. Insurance company not willing to pay full value for car?
A couple of weeks ago a lady ran a red light and hit my car. Her insurance company took a week to get me a rental and two weeks later finally go look at my car and determined a total loss. The adjustor was pretty rude about the whole situation (yes I know that's their job) and started in on how my car has extensive hail damage which is not true. There were some dents from hail on the hood and trunk lid but every used car in Oklahoma has hail damage since we have had several storms over the past few years. He said that they would have paid $5900 for the car but because of the hail damage they will only pay $1250 which is ridiculous. I've done my research and the average cost of my car within 200 miles is $6000 and I have received one estimate on repairing all of the damage was $2000 yet he claims it will cost $7000. The dealership I bought the car from just sold a vehicle just like mine with hail damage for $5000. The engine and everything else on the car was perfect. When I told him all of my info he laughed at me and said oh by the way we are only paying for your rental till the 9th so you need to settle quickly, take it or leave it so I said I was calling a lawyer. I'm waiting on the lawyer to call me back but I just want to know, what should I look for to help me. I've already looked at the market in my area and have record of the prices for the same make and model. I can't take it to a body shop because the car is crushed. Any info appreciated.""

Can someone convince me Car insurance isn't a complete waste of money.?
I'm only just turning 18 so I've never bought insurance myself my whole life. My stance on insurance is this: You might not have full coverage, they'll try to weasel out of paying you AND you might go for years without getting into an accident. In that time, if you pool up the money you'd have spent on car insurance you'd be able to pay for a car accident anyways. Now I'm just pulling this out of my butt, I don't have much of a basis on saying these things other than its just how i feel about it all, which is why I'm here. What creases me the most out of all this is that i hear car insurance for people my age is high, they treat us all the same and were not given a chance. Apparently no one sees age discrimination if it were slapped on to their face. They force you to have car insurance in Ontario which to me sounds a little ridiculous because i thought insurance was a service, an offer provided by companies, not an obligatory contract the government makes you pay for even if you don't want it. You can see my clear disposition against it at all, quite frankly i about don't wanna drive at all at this point. Though I want to be convinced because Canada's winters are cold, and modern life today kind of requires you to have your own mode of transportation.""

Pay out of pocket for my car or go through my insurance company?
I live on a hill. Last week, in a quirky weather situation, the street I live on got super-slick just long enough for my 2000 Toyota Camry to go into a 300' free-slide down the hill and crash into a curb and a tree. It was a one-car accident, no one was injured. The repairman can only give me a rough estimate at this time but he thinks it'd cost about $1500 to repair using old body parts, although he says it could cost more if he finds more damage as he goes along--in that case he thinks it might cost up to $2,000 to patch it up out of pocket. I asked him about the pros and cons of paying out of pocket vs. going through insurance in my particular case. He said that if I chose to go through insurance--which would mean getting a USAA adjuster out and all--that he was thinking it would probably cost $2500 to repair, maybe more if it turned out there was more damage that he could see at this time. But he pointed out that I'd have to pay the deductible (which I think is $500 for my car, not sure) and that my insurance rates would go up. But then you'd end up with a new-looking car. [as opposed to a patched-up looking car]. My husband absolutely wants to pay out of pocket--he does not want to involve our auto insurance company, saying, The insurance company is only for the big accidents. But I'd like to keep this car for several more years if I can because there's no car out there that I like better, so I'm wondering if maybe it might be worth going through the insurance company. Here's a little more information: My 2000 Toyota Camry has 115,000 miles on it and has been very reliable over the years. The motor wasn't damaged and, in fact the car is already driving well again except that one headlight and blinker are broken. There is, of course, body damage to the front and hood, plus a 6 crack over the left back tire (not very deep), which occurred when I backed out of the tree, slid again, and hit the curb on the opposite side of the street. Re: Our insurance situation? We (me and my 3 driving age children) had a string of costly minivan accidents in the 1990s: 1. one in 1997 when my daughter totaled my van, and got sued for injuries by 2 people in the other car (the lawsuit was settled many years ago but it dragged out for years). 2. one by me, a one-car accident, no injuries, our insurance company paid for the damage minus the deductible 3. 2 accidents caused by other drivers, so my insurance company didn't have to pay any damages--I don't know if USAA takes accidents caused by other people into consideration or not. 4. My son totaled my van in 2000 [which is why my current car is a year 2000]. So we have not called upon our insurance company for any expenses for almost 11 years now. Regarding traffic tickets? I got one 3-4 years ago for speeding--35 or 40 mph in a 25 mph zone-. If my points from this ticket have expired by now (not sure), then there are no other points on our record. Our children are now out of the nest and only one of them borrows our car when she comes to visit once every month or two. I put less than 10,000 miles/year on my car for work and vacations. We live in PA. So my question is this: Given the age of the car, amount of damage, etc., is it worth going through our insurance company to get the car fixed rather than pay OOP--or would going through insurance raise our insurance premiums so much that it wouldn't be worth it?""

How do you find affordable health insurance?
I have a friend of mine who lives in Florida. He had open heart surgery a few years ago. After the surgery was done, the Dr walked in the room and told my friend he really never needed the surgery to begin with. Individual Dental Insurance for NJ?

What should i do about car insurance?
Basically in 2009 i got caught speeding without insurance. Biggest Mistake of my life. Lost my licence and had to start from provisional again. Now i have passed my test and it is a few years on i dont know what to do about getting insurance. I refuse to drive without it now. The thing i need to know is do i tell my insurance company about the claims that were less than 5 years ago or don't i? the reason is because my licence was taken away without a ban put back to provisional and now re-started fresh so do i still have to put them or not? Also if i do what would happen if i don't? Just out of curiosity as it would be a lot cheaper but if i have to i will obviously. Thanks

Car insurance question?

I'd like to be able to be the 'secondary driver' to save money...anyone know if this is possible with this company?

The vehicle that was crashes has a lien against it & only has liability insurance. However, the driver that wrecked has total coverage for both of his vehicles. How to get car insurance for less than 1000 for a 17 year old male?
Living in England, the most expensive country in the world, and being the most expensive group of driver to insure, yet earning only 50 a week is too hard! I can get no help from family or anything I have to pay for it all myself. Realistically I need to find insurance for under a grand in order to be driving in less than a year's time. I would really appreciate any ways anybody knows of getting the cost this low. I have heard classic car insurance is a good way, but you have to be lucky to find a classic car which is cheap enough itself to make it worthwhile. Which will cost more to insure? 00-04 mustang base or 00-04 mustang gt?
I'm 17 and live in New York. Been driving with a clean record for one year and I currently pay $100/month on my mom's '10 camry. I want to get my own car and I have narrowed everything down to a mustang, but I can't decide between a base model or a gt. I have discounts on my current policy such as good student and drivers ed. I will also take a defensive driving course for an added discount and the new car will also bring about a multi-car policy discount which will be helpful. My mom will be contributing the same $100 towards the car as she is now and the rest I have to pay for by myself. I have heard that the base and gt will cost about the same to insure, but that doesn't seem right considering that the gt has 100+hp more than the base, but people have supported that by saying the base models are involved in more crashes among young drivers. So can anybody set the record straight for me? Please don't give me responses saying that only my insurance agent can tell me that or too high for you to afford. Also would it be a wise decision to drop collision coverage for a huge insurance discount? I don't plan on racing this car.""
