this one!! i think there's a bit of a freudian slip (?) in your ask yesss i love this one

the idea of trapping the two of them in a situation like that was one i was rotating in my head a lot and am probably going to revisit for something longer someday, but since it was for a challenge with such a short word limit i decided to do something really simple and just focus on the "secret identity fail" beat more than really doing anything too deep with their relationship, hence also deciding to have reki just be kind of chill after the finale (with more time to work with i probably would have had a bit more tension on his end too.)

my favorite thing i did with it is the thing with the use of names/epithets in adam's narration, something i did again at more length in my later fic with these two - both in how adam delineates thinking of himself as adam or ainosuke, and how he refuses to even think reki's name for the first chunk of the fic. in this one he only thinks of him as reki after he's mentioned langa

ALSO: the footnote about them being at the okinawa art museum came from me just fishing for locations that would make sense to put them in this situation (so a public building with an elevator) but i ended up going with that one specifically because i thought the fact that they both have different associations with art (reki being an artist with his street/graffiti style, adam's connection with religious paintings) would make an art museum an interesting place thematically for them to cross paths. i figure maybe cherry's having an exhibition there and they were both there for that

honestly any and all stigmatized/ableist language thrown at disabled and mentally ill people with hateful intentions (especially by abled and/or neurotypical people but anyone from anywhere with anything can still be hateful and discriminatory and i don't think that's talked about enough tbh)

33: What words make me feel the best about myself

it's always very humbling when people tell me i'm artistic or talented because i have a lot of deep rooted issues with self image and confidence in my own abilities due to [redacted] reasons and i'm trying to remind myself that it's okay to take pride in the things i make and accept the compliments people give me (while not being solely reliant on other people's validation and still learning how to also validate myself for myself)

I don't really make any pieces that are terribly ambiguous, but I was surprised at the number of people who took this one to be "Akira is a literal ghost who wants revenge" instead of "Goro is wracked by a deep, unknowable sense of guilt and lack of vindication." It's always super fun to see through another lens like that!

i just have to say, i saw your tag on my post about wishing you could correct people about australia and agreed wholeheartedly bc i kept thinking about how often i see ppl get things wrong about south korea in kpop fic and then i clicked your blog to see what the other post you referenced was AND IT WAS ABOUT KPOP FIC

Jdjdhfjd I'm so sorry I did not see this ask before (they rarely seem to show up in my notifications for some reason?). But oh my god I cannot imagine the absolute crimes you must see people commit against South Korea in K-pop fic. I know I have committed some (particularly in older fics from when I was younger and dumber). But like man it is so jarring when fic is like set in Seoul but full on adhering to American college systems 🫠

💾What is your document of your wip/ a wip called?

i always have boring document titles T_T and in any event ive come up with the title of my current wip so now its just named the title. but before that it was "sosam modern magic au" which is descriptive! but totally lacking in charisma. other wip doc titles have included "crossdressing", "shuake official secret santa", "ibushi kidfic", etc

6. What is your darkest fear about writing?

But I know my writing flaws pretty well, at this point. One of my fears about writing is like... it being too much, y'know? I don't wanna accidentally just exposition dump, or just introduce something and not have it explained. My biggest fear of it is just wasted potential. Especially with my current series, I'm working on. Had to put it off bc college sucks. But I've been working since middle school, and have added a lot. I just want things to make sense, y'know? 7. What is your deepest joy about writing?

OH BOI WHERE TO START. If I have to say, I'm always a big sucker for worldbuilding. It's really my fave part of the writing process, and the main reason why I get dragged into shows. But exploring different types of characters and different povs on how characters react to trauma is also a big time fave of mine. But conflicting philosophies, or just like... the hero being able to just talk with the villain is also a BIG favorite of mine.

so first of all i think he should meet christian borle's orin scrivello from the 2019 production of little shop of horrors since they are both service industry related psychopaths and then i also think he should get to meet the incredibly specific version of cborle's pirelli that lives in my brain as a result of this once upon a time horror au i have been working on for a little over a month now where hyperion heights from s7 is filled with (primarily gothic) horror characters instead of people from the enchanted forest (with the exception of killian, rumple, regina and henry) as a result of the curse du jour and pirelli is an amy bock level con man running a ponzi scheme

usually receipts or arcade tickets (i got a BUNCH when i lived on the seafront 2 yrs ago and there was an arcade at the pier) but rn i have a little DC comics heroes vs villains card i got in a mcdonalds happy meal in tfc (bc yes im reading aftg again)

33: what’s your fave pastry?

either a chocolate hazelnut croissant or a gregg's steak bake but it has to be greggs idk what they do to it but ive tried many and they are never as good as greggs
