Hello from La Sagrada Família! 🇪🇸✍️

Located in Barcelona, this is the largest unfinished Catholic Church in the world. The design of this church began in 1882 when it was designed by Francisco de Paula del Villar. It was taken over by the infamous Antoni Gaudí the year after. The church features Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau. Why is it unfinished? It relies on private donations, was interrupted by the Spanish Civil War and was set fire by anarchists in 1936. When will it be completed? Who knows 🤷‍♀️

This is one of my favorite buildings in the world. I’m not a religious person, but can appreciate the craftsmanship, creativity and meaning behind Gaudi’s design. It’s irregular shape from the exterior is impressive, but once you walk inside, you can just sit there and stare for hours. The stained glass windows and ceiling are my favorite.

Has anyone else ever heard of or visited this building? It will amaze you with what a human mind is capable of creating.

Barcelona será sede da Copa América de Vela 2024.

A cidade de Barcelona será sede da 37ª edição da Copa América de Vela.

Essa edição acontecerá de 22 de agosto a 27 de outubro de 2024 e está sendo muito aguardada por várias razões,entre elas : é a primeira vez que teremos equipes femininas participando e é um evento esportivo de grande porte desde as Olimpíadas que aconteceu em 1992.

A competição acontecerá bem próximo do aeroporto de Barcelona,fazendo com que facilite e muito para quem for curtir a cidade no verão e nesse período de competição.

“É um evento esportivo histórico,que tem projeção mundial em nível internacional. A America’s Cup não é apenas uma atividade esportiva isolada e oferece muito mais do que isso para o anfitrião. É um evento que vai gerar retorno em várias plataformas ao longo dos anos e deixará um importante legado para a Catalunha.” Disse o presidente da Generalitat de Catalunya, Pere Aragonés.

Barcelona, Spain. Part II (August 2021). — The European Union recommended on Monday that Americans should be banned from nonessential travel to its member states after a rise in Coronavirus cases in the United States. Countries within the 27-nation bloc have been advised to reinstate Covid-19 related restrictions and halt the arrival of tourists from the U.S. and five other countries. Europe had begun opening up to U.S. travelers in May with destinations dependent on tourism dollars from across the Atlantic eager to recoup heavy losses incurred during successive lockdowns. The European Council, the EU's governing body, recommended in June that the bloc lift restrictions on nonessential travel from 14 countries, including the United States. However, Covid-19 cases in the U.S. have surged in recent weeks, as the highly infectious Delta variant spreads among unvaccinated Americans. Covid-19 cases among children are also hitting levels not seen since winter. However, this guidance is non-binding, so individual countries in the E.U. bloc can decide impose their own sets of restrictions. Travelers should expect a messy patchwork of different rules and regulations across the continent, much like they encounter a mishmash of non-uniform rules and regulations across the U.S. The United States never reopened its own borders to E.U. tourists during the pandemic, a point of contention among many Europeans. The new recommendation, they say, reflects a certain reciprocity. — The threshold for being on the E.U. safe travel list is having fewer than 75 new Covid-19 cases daily per 100,000 inhabitants over the previous 14 days. Thieves stole my crash bar bag! 😾

Gahhh! My first day in Barcelona and I left my little side bags on my bike overnight like I usually do and thieves stole one of them! I parked my bike right in front of the hostel too.

I heard of pickpockets and all that, but I can’t believe it happened to me. They stole the one where the zipper was broken and I only had a 1/2 used roll of duct tape in there, but it was MY half used roll of duct tape. I’m quite annoyed. They were dumb thieves and didn’t look at the other side to steal my more important one with my tools, so I’m happy about that.

I wanted to love you Barcelona, but I think I need to leave.
