An ocarina of time headcanon that I've had since I first played it when I was like 8 was that I'm that game Link and Zelda are twins that were separated during the civil war, and that's why they look so similar/why Zelda doesn't seem to have a mom.

Yooo! I have a similar headcanon with Link and Zelda being twins but were seperated by birth. But it was with the Link-Zelda duo from A Link to the Past.

I do have a whole backstory about how this all went down with Link's Uncle - I dubbed him as "Uncle Ferdie" (Ferdinard Goldsmith is his full name) - and how the Prophecy of the Hero's return was what kicked off the plan to separate Link from his biological family. And was given to the care of his Uncle who was then a royal knight and was tasked to "disappear and protect" this baby from Ganon's gaze. Even if it meant giving up his title and even identity.

Oh and it was Uncle Fernie's idea to dye Link's hair pink to conceal his true identity further. Though Link got insecure about having pink hair as a kid, so his Uncle dyed his hair dark purple in solidarity.

I have a lot more stories about this Link's childhood and how his Uncle raised him like he was his own son and the things he had to do to protect this golden child of destiny before the events of ATTLP. Mostly snippets and dialogue quotes.

But regardless, this Link only finds out about his twin sister being Zelda and how's he is technically a Prince, after the events of ATTLP. And Impa tells him about what his Uncle did to protect and raise him.

The Chosen One

Alola wasn’t a place she visited often due to the climate, but fortunately the later part of the year brought some relief to the region. She’d taken it upon herself to visit, mostly to check the areas out. The rustling of bushes nearby caught Giratina’s attention. She’d stop and look towards the vegetation unsure of what to expect. The minimal light from the moon didn’t do much to illuminate the area.

The bushes would rustle again, before a small pokemon timidly approached. It looked like it had on some sort of cloth, drawn on crudely with crayon. A shadowy hand was propping the faux head up, beady eyes below teary. Well shit, she couldn’t just ignore the poor fellow. 

“Hey buddy,” Giratina would crouch down by the pokemon-- a Mimikyu, of course! She’d quickly look the ghost over, brows knitting together as she saw the source of the problem. A tear in the neck of the disguise had compromised its integrity. Luckily, she carried a sewing kit on her person. It was mostly for sewing up gashes, but she’d used it on her clothes too. 

She’d reach into her bag, pulling the kit out. “Can I see?” Giratina asked gently. “I promise I won’t take your cloth off.” She knew Mimikyu were sensitive about that sort of thing. The ghost reluctantly moved forward, shadowy hand slipping back under the raggedy fabric. The head atop the disguise drooped, like it’s neck was snapped.

With a steady hand, she’d thread the needle and get to work. The Mimikyu’s hand slipped back out, propping the head up once again to better assist Giratina as she sewed. It took several moments, but the disguise was sewn up. Good as new! Except for the noticeable thread running along the neck of it. She’d take a red ribbon from the kit and gently tie it around the Mimikyu’s neck, effectively covering up the thread. Perfect! 

She’d grin as the Mimikyu bounced around, shadowy hands touching the ribbon. “There you go. Now you look like a million bucks.” The small ghost trilled happily, showing its thanks the best it could. Giratina would stand back up, putting her sewing kit in her bag. “Stay safe out there. Come find me if you ever need anything sewn back up, alright?” The Mimikyu bounced in place, seeming to nod and understand her.

They’d part ways, though Giratina would look back after a few steps. It was already gone. She had to wonder... were Mimikyu always gray?

First of all - you are amazing and talented!!! I envy so much your ability to generate so many ideas. So a small question about LU for your Q&A: How many AUs for LU, heck for LoZ in general, you had came up with/participated in creation of?

But in summaries, these are the AUs and worldbuilding ideas that I have been working on so far. And they all have very in-depth worldbuilding and story details:

LEGEND of ZELDA 

BotW Family and Legacy 

A series of stories that follows the life, journey and deaths of Wild’s Family, both Pre-Calamity and Post-Calamity. And beyond. 

Story of Twilight 

Follows the journey of the Hero of Twilight before the events of Twilight Princess, his origins and upbringing, growing up as the sole Hylian in Ordon Village.  And after the events of Twilight Princess and his search for answers about his mysterious ancestor and his true fate for him to become the Hero’s Shade. 

Bapy Legend’s Past 

Explores the upbringing of the Hero of Legend before the events of ALttP and who was his Uncle before becoming his primary guardian. 

Linked Universe AUs

Sky High AU 

(In collaboration of the wonderful @cy-the-angst-maker, @pulveremcomedesligulas and Judai, along with many other contributors. ) It’s the LU Boys but they all have superpowers and live in the Modern Day setting of the Sky High universe. And then things turn for the deep end. 

SH AU of AU, Linking the Links AU  

(in collaboration of the wonderful @cy-the-angst-maker​, @pulveremcomedesligulas​ and Judai, along with many other contributors.)

A crossover AU that happens after the end of SH’s Main Story where the original LU Heroes got sucked into the SU AH world and have to team up with their SH counterparts to figure out the mystery of their circumstances and the wave of monsters that were beginning to reek havoc in this strange new world.

GOD KING AU 

( In collaboration with @cy-the-angst-maker )

Takes place after the events of Linked Universe. To break the eternal curse of reincarnation and to destroy any chance of the Demon King’s return, what if Wild takes in the Ancient Darkness within his own soul and upon his passing, he ascends to become the new God King of Darkness, Noctis. (Comes in Prequel and multiple parts of the Main Story and Post Story). There is so much more in this story, I promise. 

 LABRAT AU 

This one was inspired by @jinmukangwrites‘s Labrat AU but it since exploded into becoming its own fully fledged world and story. 

In a modern day AU of Hyrule, a secret Rebellion is taking place under the normalcy of society after the sudden Disappearance of Princess Zelda, the Holder of Wisdom. A bond forms between the Child of Power and the Rebel of Courage as they navigated through the chaotic political landscape as secret government agents hunt them down. And uncover the conspiracy centuries ago that led to where they are now. (features, a Bapy, a Dad and Noodle Dragons) 

POKEMON AU 

Titles: Pokemon Power, Power Wisdom and their sequel, Pokemon Courage

This one is super simple. It’s the LU Boys but they are all Gym Leaders and one Champion of the Hyrule Region. With a Pokemon style storyline, worldbuilding and shenanigans. As if this were its own games. (I swear it’s far more in-depth than this). 

CUCCOS AU 

Simple. It’s the Boys but they’re all different breeds of Cuccos. And more!!

LORD OF THE RINGS AU 

This one is more of a crack idea in collab with River in the LU Discord some time ago where, it’s the LU Boys and friends / family but they’re all roleplaying as characters in the Lord of the Rings.....AND it’s a DnD campaign. :D

And these are just the TIP of the iceberg. I could go on and on and on about the worlds and stories I have created and told. But that needs to be its own post...and series. One of these days, I’ll be able to unpack all of them into writing and drawing.

In honor of this week's server poll, how about some dancing headcanons?

Time:

So part of Time's dancing is because of his fighting prowess. He learned to be quick on his feet, so he's really good at footwork. However, he's just... not sure what to do with his upper half. He's kind of awkward like that. It lends itself well to river dance, which he probably learned at some point on his travels (can't decide where... maybe the Zora?)

He's also not half bad at pair dancing, particularly with Malon. The trick with anything aside from river dance etc is to get him to stop being self conscious, so dancing with Malon really helps with that

Twilight:

Alright, now this is obvious, but he's familiar with country-type dances, like square dances. It's the kind of thing villages do for festivals, so everyone involved becomes well versed in them. He teaches the others some of his favorites, and they all participate on nights where the stars are out and they're well rested and in high spirits.

He catches onto other not overly complicated dances without too much issue as well, so he's not likely to make a fool of himself in formal dance situations

Warriors:

He's the captain of the guard, he knows how to waltz for formal reasons. However, at various points along the journey he encountered many people and many different dances. He really likes the more fun types of dance, especially ones that show off how in shape he is because he is just a tad vain.

Midna and Ruto thought it was hilarious to teach him the less traditional dances and Impa was. Tired. But anyway he's well versed in several dances and likes to show off on occasion

Aside from being a showoff, he really did like dancing with friends a lot. He and the gals partied. It's a fact

Four:

So yes I like the idea that Four knows waltz due to being childhood friends with Zelda. It makes sense.

HOWEVER, I also like the idea that some of the Colors know other dances. Vio is really good with swing dance, Blue is surprisingly well versed in like, tap dance. Green and Red though? Lost. They don't know anything else.

This leads to a strange "Four can sometimes dance and sometimes can't. No we don't know what his deal is"

Wind:

Is bapy!! Okay but really he's not super familiar with any sort of official dance either. For him it's a 'move to the beat' kind of deal. Just do what feels right! Whether what feels right actually looks like a dance or looks like he's a fish out of water is a different story.

The closest thing to an actual dance that he knows is something the pirates do. It's hard to explain, but it's a kind of cross between a duel and a dance. There's like a 75% chance of injury. It's not a recommended activity, no matter how much Wind insists that it's fun.

Wild:

Okay so this is a long-standing headcanon, but in answer to if he can dance: yes. Once again, similar to Four and Warriors, waltz is something he knows for formal reasons, though for him it isn't a concious memory but more muscle memory, a forgotten remnant of his time as a royal guard.

Aside from that, he's similar to Leg in of that he picked up other dances on his travels. The different races and cities in Hyrule have different dances, and Wild knows them all. The belly-dancing Gerudo, the strong stamps of the Gorons (you know like those Polynesian/Hawaiian dances the men do? That), the swaying and spinning of the Rito, the elegant movements of the Zora. He's danced them all.

He cannot, however, play an instrument to save his life. Do not give him an instrument. At best, it will be offkey. At worst, he will break it. Leave him to the dancefloor, not the band. ((This headcanon is very relevant to my Feral AU))

Legend:

So, Legend can canonically dance. We know this. Personal headcanons are that he's well traveled, and has picked up many, many dances along the way. From formal to traditional to modern, the boy has moves and he's extremely good at it, arguably overall the best dancer out of the nine.

Here's the thing: it's actually pretty hard to get him to dance. He's prickly and touchy, and convincing him to do something like that can take some work. Easiest way? Challenge his skills. He is a prideful creature and will defend his honor. Warriors knows this well and they've had several dance offs as a result.

Despite that, there's one thing he can't do, and that's slow pair dances. He never really learned that one, and the one time he tried... well, that's a dream gone by.

Hyrule:

So, we all know the boy is our "Street Smarts" kid. He's not exactly taught in dance. In fact he's not super familiar with the concept? Like, he likes music, and he likes kind of tapping his feet to it, but has no concept of how you're supposed to dance. He sees people do it, but feels silly trying to do what they're doing. If he catches onto a dance, it's probably something simple and more based on the emotions and the heart as opposed to footwork. Footwork confuses him.

Potentially could get good at something like theatre dance if given time

Sky:

Soft bird boy... so I believe that at some point during his schooling everyone is taught a traditional dance. It's a sort of group thing for festivals, something like a square dance but not quite as like, folksy? It's a bit more organized and elegant than your standard square dance.

He also knows how to slow dance, because Zelda insisted on them learning it. It took a while, but he knows the ins and outs of several pair dances and is a very good dance partner.

Now, more fast-paced, complicated dances? Nope. Gets left behind, probably trips. He'd love to learn but it takes time he just doesn't have right now, so he'll politely clap on the sidelines so he doesn't get trampled and cause a domino effect

1: What's your favorite Zelda Game?

I have never played one. I have played no games. The one I know the most about lore/cannon/content wise is BotW though!

3: What's a popular LU fandom theory/take you like?

Prince Legend. I love him as Fable's brother, younger or older!

My absolute favorite though is the Kid Wild thing, I'm so freaking soft for bapy Wild!

15: What was the first Zelda game you ever played?

Again, never played one. The first manga I read was the Skyward Sword prequel though! And coincidentally, Skyward Sword was also the first Zelda game I remember seeing around (I'm sheltered)
