Australia Post Lightning Quick Win Over Bangladesh
T20 World Cup - Super 12 - Group 1 Match - Australia vs Bangladesh - Dubai
Australia demolished Bangladesh by eight wickets as leg-spinner Adam Zampa gave them a taste of their own medicine, as he plucked five wickets to bundle them out for one of their lowest scores of 73 in their group one T20 World Cup match in Dubai on Thursday. Australian captain Aaron Finch finished the match in no time when he slammed a quick-fire 40 in 20 balls that had four sixes as their run chase needed just 6.2 overs.
Deciding to bowl first after winning the toss, Australia wasted no time in settling an old score with Bangladesh who beat them in a series this year and dealt the first blow when paceman Mitchell Starc rattled the stumps of opener Liton Das for a duck in the third ball of the innings.
From then on it was only one side that was playing cricket as Australia ruthlessly nailed every Bangladesh batter who entered the crease with none of them lasting more than 18 balls while the top scorer was Shamim Hossain with 19.
Mushfiqur Rahim made just one run and was trapped leg-before to part-time spinner Glenn Maxwell while skipper Mahmudullah contributed 16 before he became Starc’s second victim.
But the main wrecker came in the form of a spinner in Adam Zampa that surprisingly Bangladesh had no formula to counter in what was their worst performance in the current T20 World Cup.
Zampa got into the act in the first ball of the seventh over with Bangladesh down at 32 for 4 to have the scalp of Afif Hossain without scoring and followed it up with four more wickets as he wiped out the balance half of the batting to finish with figures of 5 for 19.
Paceman Josh Hazelwood also joined in the wicket-taking frolics at the start of the Bangladesh innings as he finished with figures of 2 for 8 runs.
Australia along with South Africa have one more match left against the West Indies and England respectively that will decide the semi finalist among the two with England already qualified.
Scores:
Bangladesh 73 in 15 overs (Shamim Hossain 19, Mitchell Starc 2 for 21, Josh Hazelwood 2 for 8, Adam Zampa 5 for 19)
Australia 78 for 2 in 6.2 overs (Aaron Finch 40)

Bangladesh Bundle Out Australia For 62 Runs - Win T20 Series 4/1
5th T20 International - Australia vs Bangladesh - Dhaka
Australia went through and ended what must have been their worst cricket tour in living memory, as they crashed all out for just 62 runs, their lowest score in limited overs cricket, in the fifth and final T20 match against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Monday to lose the five match series 4-1.
Tumblr media
What was worse for Australia was that they lost eight wickets for just 24 runs after being 38 for 2 at one stage while chasing after a 123 target to be all out for 62.
Nine of the 11 batsmen to enter the crease could not even reach double figures with Matthew Wade making 23 and Ben McDermott contributing 17, as Bangladesh's play-maker Shakib Al Hasan picked up his 100th T20 wicket finishing with figures of 4 for 9.
The writing was on the wall for Australia when Bangladesh spinner Nasum Ahmed bowled opener Dan Christian for 3 and trapped the in-form Mitchell Marsh leg-before for 4 in his first two overs.
But three overs later came the procession of dismissed Australian batsmen, as Shakib struck to take his first wicket by rattling the stumps of Matthew Wade for 22 leaving the visitors at 38 for 3 from which they never recovered to be all out for 62 in 13.4 overs, with middle order batsmen Alex Carey and Moises Henriques unable to go past three runs.
Bangladesh were confident of victory to the point that they even opted to push Mahedi Hasan to open the batting with Mohammad Naim and the pair put on 42 runs in 4.3 overs before Mahedi was out for 13 and Naim went on to top score with 23 in a total of 122 for 8 in 20 overs.
Scores: Bangladesh 122 for 8 in 20 (Mohammad Naim 23, Nathan Ellis 2 for 16, Dan Christian 2 for 17) Australia 62 in 13.4 overs (Matthew Wade 22, Shakib Al Hasan 4 for 9, Mohammad Saifudin 3 for 12)

WATCH: Nathan Ellis grabs a hat-trick against Bangladesh on Australia debut
On Friday, Nathan Ellis had a memorable outing in his T20 international debut for Australia as he grabbed a hat-trick in the final over of Bangladesh’s innings at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. The 26-year-old Ellis, who was handed the Australian cap by senior pacer Mitchell Starc, achieved the feat by removing Mahmudullah, Mustafizur Rahman and Mahedi Hasan off consecutive balls. Australia In Consolation Win - Saves Pride!
4th T20 International - Australia vs Bangladesh
Australia's cricketers breathed a sigh of relief as they broke a string of defeats to beat Bangladesh and gain some consolation in the fourth T20 International in Dhaka on Saturday, winning one of the most low scoring matches while chasing down a target of 105.
Tumblr media
But Australia had some gripping and even frightening moments when they were down to 65 for 6 in the 11th over before Dan Christian earlier had smashed five sixes and a four in making 39 off just 15 balls to give the Aussies some momentum.
Australia squeezed home with an over left as late order batsman Ashton Agar also pushed the score along with an unbeaten 27 from the same number of balls to see his side through after their in-form batsman Mitchell Marsh was bowled by Mahedi Hasan for 11.
In the process Australia did not blow up the hard work done by their bowlers who produced some super spells to restrict Bangladesh to 105 for 9 after they decided to bat first.
The Aussies owed much to the entry of leg spinner Mitchell Swepsen who came in as the fifth bowler and put the breaks on the Bangladesh batting grabbing three wickets for just 12 runs in his four overs that included the wickets of the veteran batsman Mahmudullah and Nurul Hasan in two balls.
Swepsen trapped both batsmen leg-before without scoring after paceman Josh Hazelwood removed Shakib Al Hasan, caught behind by Matthew Wade for 15.
Bangladesh could not recover from the three blows and scratched their way to a losing total of 104 after Swepsen picked up the wicket of opener and top scorer Mohammad Naim for 28, the fifth down with the total at 68 in the 15th over.
Bangladesh had already won the five-match series with victories in the first three games with one more match to be played.
Scores: Bangladesh 104 for 9 in 20 (Mohammad Naim 28, Andrew Tye 3 for 18, Mitchell Swepsen 3 for 12) Australia 105 for 7 in 19 (Dan Christian 39, Ashton Agar 27 not out)
