she's sopping wet from a swim & she's dripping water all over his floors. but it's okay because as she scurries around every single room , leaving water everywhere , when she finally finds him , she promptly , excitedly drops a fish in his lap with the biggest , brightest grin.

it takes a herculean amount of effort, but he just barely manages to maintain a firm grip on his indignation at the sight of water trailing all over the freshly cleaned floors. his form twitches before becoming statuesque when the creature lands on him, for fear of exploding as droplets of water hit the planes of his face. given the enthusiasm in her face, however, he does his utmost to return her smile with one of his own. ❛ love, i do believe we will need to have a discussion about proper indoor manners ⸻ and how to handle seafood. ❜ voice impressively calm, he carefully grasps the tail of the fish, lifting it off his lap and gritting his teeth as water continues to drip onto his clothing. ❛ but for now, it seems we will be eating well for dinner this evening. ❜ he would also need to have the cleaning company return and make a wardrobe change, but . . . he would keep that fact to himself.

I don't want to overstep with your story, but if you're still free for character suggestions, something that's been going through my head is one of Kyukis human friends bringing a new friend of theirs along to a meet-up and Kyuki immediatly recognizes said new friend as a banshee, I assume considering fea are bigger travelers in your lore they'd be familiar with what they get up to

It's tense because the banshee just keeps sticking around and it's not like he could ever confront them about it because the human friend is still there, but having a harbinger of death lurking around your friend doesn't make you feel particulary secure

Less serious, I don't know if Kyuki is a jealous person, but do you think there'd be a slight undercurrent of "Hands off, that was my friend first" to it as well?

I absolutely encourage other people to make characters or propose myths they want to see because I highly doubt I’ll ever make this into a proper story.

I still need to answer Tavi’s ask about the fae, but considering how widespread and intelligent fae tend to be, I think they’d spread all over the world.

I feel like fae and trickster demons like Kitsune would generally be wary of each other since they kind of operate on the same wavelength. Buuut if they’re a friend of Kyuki they give him food and that’s a good reason to stick around.

Really both Banshees and Kitsune can be seen as good and bad omens. Banshees have been known to sing out of love, kind of existing to make sure their families are safe.

There would be a lot of indecision until Kyuki could figure out their deal.

I do think Kyuki’s response would vary depending on how close they are with the person. They would only really show possessiveness if they’re really close to someone.
