Hello, Mary, dear! I have a letter here to hand over to you- Oh! Don't trouble yourself with reading it all. I'll happily do it for you!

Ahem ahem... Let's see.

*The queen excitedly opens the letter, and squints. It looks as though she's struggling to make out some of it. It was written...hastily. She looks over her shoulder as if to scold empty air, and quickly goes back to her task of reading it to Mary.*

"Dear Sparkly Gremlin,"

*She side eyes the same spot she scolded lightly before, but continues on*

"You are cordially invited to this year's Banshee Blossom Ball. My Queen has requested that you inform any residents of the hotel that you think may like to attend. Out of respect for my love and the event, I will remain civil. You have my word.

You are allowed to bring ONE special guest. The two of you will be treated as... VIPs. Much to my distaste."

*Another scolding look came from the queen to the empty air again*

"As a VIP, you will have a say on one of the scheduled events (prompts of the day). Please make your arrangements with my beloved Queen, as she is the event planner. You are the first to be informed of the ball happening. Further details will come in an official invitation in the very short future.

You have earned this title due to your...kindness and service to my subjects. I hate writing this. I HATE IT. But my Queen has barred kisses from me until I do, so I must.

This is the only time you will hear this from me, so listen well:

You. Are a ᴠᴀʟᴜᴇᴅ part of ghost society and for your efforts, my queen and I offer you our 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚜𝚝 thank yous. Be well. I suppose. Or don't. Do whatever you please, it won't phase me.

Well now that was written better than I expected. Though some of the words are scratched so deep into the paper that they've almost torn through... Regardless! You heard the letter! For now I sat against the walls in the halls,as a few other ghosts surrounded me. Boos,Goobs,Hellen…Hellen?! There was a soft look on her face.

“…Mary?? Whatever are you doing here by your lonesome-?? Huh-“

*She notices the letter in my hands,amongst my puffy pink sleeves…the writing is all but a scribble to her…but those initials…those…*

“…Hellen??”

Several boos,those who lived in the hotel and those who came with you began to huddle up around me,knowing just how Hellen’s going to react.

“…Hellen,is okie!! I promise!! I thinks”

“…HE CAME HERE AGAIN-???? HE’S TARGETTING THIS PLACE FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME?! THAT PATHETIC WEASLE-!! HE NEVER KNOWS WHEN TO QUIT- HE- …What-??”

“Queenie gave dis to me!!!”

“…She’s here??”

“…Yesh.”

“…Lovely.”

*She was doing her absolutely hardest to hide any sense of annoyance. What could she be here for NOW?! Rubbing it in that the King’s heart belongs to her?! HAH-!!! She doesn’t care less about being beloved by him!! Only introducing him to death once more if he even thinks about going near the hotel again…*

“I’m a R.I.P!! …I MEAN V.I.P!!!”

“…Come again…??”

“…VIP!! For the banshee blossom ball!! :D”

“…”

“…They’re hosting another one!! YAY!!!! I wasn’t really there for the first one,but- …Hellen??”

*The words only came through one of her Jewel embellished ears and out the other…another one?? Are they hosting it HERE again?!

NO-!! The last one was…awful. To her. How many times was she put in a painting?? Or demeaned as “octopus lady” for her hairdo?? Treated like garbage and pushed away…in her OWN hotel…what kind of world does she have to live in…?! Good thing Mary wasn’t there for the first one…that girl would defend anyone she cares for until mushroom kingdom come*

*Hellen turned to the hotel,wrapping her feather boa around herself just a bit more,prettying herself up enough for an extra power up of confidence*

“…I thinks so!! Just put in the lobby!!

…But you needn’t worry. I’ll handle this.”

*Soon enough,Hellen found herself face to face with someone she hoped she wouldn’t have to see in a long time…or maybe…two? Not like she can see the other…while I found myself next to a few of the staff members,trying to calm me down about the whole thing!! And asking about the whole VIP thing. Also there were a few boos on my head. Stacked. You see several scoops of Icecream stacked on eachotjer? PICTURE DAT BUT WITH BOOS!!*

“…It’s…nice seeing you again,Gravely-”

“What’s your ungrateful husband planning-??”

“…Just read the letter,won’t you…?”

“HAH-!! You believe I’d trust him to explain everything throughly to anyone?? Don’t take me for a fool,your…lowness.”

*Truthfully…Hellen felt HORRIFIC. She wasn’t exactly in control…and she felt as if she wanted to do this,regardless of her feelings towards his majesty.

They made up. For once they made up. Everything was going so well…

*Before she could say anything further,the long amythest leaves vines of the banshee blossom elongated around the hotel owner’s neck,the shadowy filth that covered Hellen before travelling up to cover her mouth*

“HE DID THIS. DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND?! IT’S NOT TO DO WITH YOU. IT’S ALL BECAYSE OF THAT-“

*She pulled away in an instant,somehow having some control of her body as she slapped herself in the mouth…it’s mouth.

She stared pulling away from her to no avail. It was like pulling a filmy slime away from you…yet too sticky. It clinged to her. A seperate being. Formed entirely from negativity,Spesifically a grudge. (Not too dissimilar to a Bogmire…huh!!)

“IT’S HIS FAULT. YOU’RE ONLY PREVENTING US FROM HAVING OUR JUSTICE. YOU’VE DONE THIS SINCE DAY O-“

*SLAP!!!!*

*Hellen pulled it off,looking towards the queen with…fear. Not towards her. It was pleading.*

“…I’m sorry,alright? I’m terribly sorry. He was yours,and always was…I may not know everything about…him. Sometimes I wish I never did…but this…”

*She struggled to find out what to say!! She didn’t figure she’d ever have to say these words towards this person. Also the separate being composed of sheer hatred from her own body forcing itself to take over!! That too!!*

“…This has gone on long eno-“

“…Hellen…?” *A small,very worried voice called out,echoing from the hallway. A voice all too familar.

*And whatever that thing is. It seemingly also reacted at the ambassador’s presence. Separately.”

"Please excuse my outburst, but I think you needed to hear an apology from SOMEONE."

Not like she'd likely get one from the king. He simply wasn't the type. Especially when he felt justified trying to keep the Boos safe.

The queen listened to Hellen sputter out words and watched in absolute anguish as whatever dark being she had manifested tried to take her over again. The Banshee Blossom she had given her...was it trying to protect her? Did Hellen even realize that one had been for her in the first place?

"Hellen..."

She was about to say "let me help" before she heard that still, small voice echo from behind her. Mary. Poor little Mary. She must be worried sick.

"Stay back. I.. Have to try to neutralize whatever this being is trying to control Hellen."

She had experience with things like this before. Helping Bogmire was...different to say the least. Mostly because that emotion was fear and despair, and this one with Hellen was pure fury. She realized now that it wasn't Hellen at all. It was some sort of seperate spirit.

The purple gems she wore glowed faintly as she approached Hellen again. If her theory was correct, them being small pieces of the Dark Moon might've been what calmed the spirit enough to give Hellen back a little control in the first place. If she could just make contact with it again...

"Hellen. I'm sorry to ask this, but try to fight it off just for a moment longer..."

The Queen looked back at Mary with a reassuring expression before she advanced towards Hellen again with outstretched hands.

She reached up tentatively and cupped the gooey creature in her hands warmly taking it from Hellen's grasp. A gentle purple glow wrapped around it like a soft blanket.

"You... Not Hellen. You, spirit who embodies anger and bottled up emotions... Please, take this."

She reached up and took the Banshee Blossom from her hair, placing it on the gooey being.

"You deserve to feel care as well. I know anger is a terrible emotion to have to deal with... But you must redirect it. Perhaps I can take you to a place you can truly let loose and express it in a healthy way... Would you at least trust me to do that?"

She glanced at Mary, stepping far out of the way of being between her and Hellen, and motioned for her to go to the hotel owner. She'd be safer at her side.

The queen began to gently pet the goopy specter in her hand.

"I'm terribly sorry you weren't allowed to express this awful feeling for so long. I can make sure you're well taken care of. You see, I think I know someone that would greatly understand you."

Queenie looked around as if someone would appear at any moment.

"...Bogmire, dear? Are you around? I know you like being around fear."

She gestured to Hellen lightly.

From the shadows, a goopy, purple being appeared. They looked upon Queenie with sorrowful eyes. Their mouth was outstretched into an unnaturally large expression of sadness.

"...Why am I here? Where is this? I want to go home..."

Queenie's expression softened at the sight of her familiar friend. She walked over to them with Hellen's spirit of anger still in her grasp.

"It's alright, Bogmire. It's alright... This is... Ah, I haven't quite gotten their name yet, but I believe I may have found you a kindered spirit."

She held the inky black goop of a being out to Bogmire, who began to cry at the sight of it.

"You're... So sad... Like me... But you're also really mad... I'm mad too... Mad that everything was taken from me once upon a time..."

Today is the day, will Ilona finally confess their feelings to Melone or will their heart be crushed?

Author’s Note: If you saw my previous text post, this chapter will not have a “keep reading” due to a glitch on site. (Still unsure about that but hopefully I’ll be back to my usual format soon.) Also the flashback takes place after the one shot, “Banshee Concert”, I recommend you read that if you want to know what’s happening here.

Ilona slowly took off their silvery stilettos and unzipped their gown, they threw it to the side of their bedroom. The look of horror on Melone’s face after the performance at the opera house stained their mind. Risotto was pleased to hear that Ilona was able to get the job done, but in private he had asked Ilona what the others had witnessed. Showing a taste of this new power with an inanimate object, a small glass, Ilona sang a few notes of the song’s climax and the glass cracked. Risotto too grew weary of them. The expression on his face reminded Ilona how they were not human anymore, just a monster amongst men. As their thoughts began to swirl they heard a knock at their room door, Ilona swiftly put their shorts on and walked towards the door gingerly opening it.

It was Melone, “Buonasera, may I come in?” Ilona nodded and guided him to sit on the bed. There was still tension in the air between them, they had sat in silence for what felt like centuries had gone by. Ilona hugged their knees to their chest, “I’m sorry for scaring you at the opera. I didn’t know I could do that and I should have kept it under control.” Ilona curled up into a ball, leaning their back against the wall. Melone placed a hand on their shoulder in comfort, “Actually, I should be the one apologizing. I didn’t mean to run off like that. I just couldn’t face the fact that someone so tiny could have such a powerful stand.” Ilona peaked their head up and scowled at Melone, “That came out wrong, what I meant to say was that you’re strong. And that’s a good thing. I couldn’t be more proud to call you my friend.”

“Then what was with that face, when I walked closer towards you after the show?”

You seem to be good friends with him already so you’re halfway there.” Gelato replied, Sorbet placed his hand upon his chin to think. “Tell us how or more specifically, when did these feelings truly begin to blossom?” Ilona closed their eyes and the question echoed in their mind as another memory began to play.

I was gonna do something with Panther at first, but the intro of the announcement today made me think of Laundin and I had to being him in! Laundin decided to venture out of the laundry room to see what the party is about! He decides to try and make more ghost friends by dishing out spooks!! Looks like he's having fun meeting people!

((GUESS WHO SPENT THE WHOLE MORNING DRAWING THIS.  THIS STUPID-ASS MUN RIGHT HERE.  I may not do much for the Banshee Blossom Ball (@queenieboo22), but I figured I would at least draw Ghost!Kyung looking fancy and ready to socialize at the event as a way for me to actually freaking draw something other than a sketch.))

((Here’s a little extra bit that I feel is very fitting; Kyung is fine when it comes to waltzing, but she really loves to tango when it comes to dancing with a partner.  And this song, Creature of the Night by Lucy Rose is one that I’ve imagined Kyung singing, and even dancing to.))

I thinks it’s interesting…the characters obviously thrive and exist as two seperate beings without the other,but…THEY MIRROR EACHOTJER- IT FEELS SO COOL- I WANNA SEE HOW THEY INTERACT SO BAD!! KUAAAAAAA-!!!!!!!! *Explodes inro rainbows*

Day 1: Arrival/Meeting A discarded envelope lays just inside the entrance of the Treacherous Mansion, an invitation dropped from anxious hands. It seems the elusive Evershade Valley houses more than just partygoers...

I may have momentarily blacked out upon seeing the phrase "anyone who has Luigi's Mansion OCs" in the intro post kdjfg. I...also do not remember what the Treacherous Mansion looks like inside so I just made something up, it's been so long since I've played this game I'm sorry kdjfgf (also I hope you can tell she's looking in a mirror) ANYWAY--

I figured this was still a good opportunity to share a relatively old OC of mine that I made after playing Dark Moon: Mona! I haven't used her for anything in a very long time, and I don't know if I will actually end up doing more stuff with her for this event, but I am still very fond of her~

From what I remember (it really has been a long time dkfhg), Mona is a kind and timid little ghost that lives...somewhere in the Evershade Valley. When she first saw Luigi walking around in one of the mansions (probably the first one), looking lost and afraid himself, she wanted to help him...but while she was watching and debating how to approach, she accidentally fell through a wall and scared him away! D:

To make up for it, she started subtly helping him without showing herself - things like moving objects that let him reach new places, causing distractions for the other ghosts that tried to hurt him, or using objects to point him in the right direction. However, Luigi eventually caught on that someone was following him because the flower in her hair was always visible, even when she vanished.

When she finally showed herself (or...maybe he made her show herself, I don't remember which dkfg), she admitted that she was the one helping him the whole time. After he thanks her, and after seeing that he's much less nervous about her now, she starts helping him more openly - doing things like scouting the floors or rooms, telling him where he can find treasure and gems, and even helping him when he gets into scraps with other ghosts! (though it's very minimal and usually just involves her throwing small objects every now and again dfjgh)

She also ends up crushing on Luigi at some point (because I mean...of course) but is never able to work up the courage to tell him. I might be misremembering this part but I think E. Gadd tries to be her wingman sometimes as well kdfgf

Luther isn’t used to being invited to balls and such. Usually he’s the entertainment, so this is pretty exciting for him! Again, this was super fun and I love my pretty boy...
