The Asian Pasifika and Afro Latine Native demigod and alien hybrid main character is born a demigod/demigoddess and is later given divinity to become a god/goddess/mahu deity. As a demigod they only had power over a few elements thanks to family bloodline. Only when they were given divinity did they unlock most of the elements to use as a deity. They were chosen by Tiʻitiʻi to be his champion and chosen one as a hero.
Descendent of Namaka a Polynesian Hawaiian water goddess, Polynesian Hawaiian Pele goddess of fire and volcanos, Polynesian Hawaiian God Kanaloa god of the underworld, Ku Hawaiian God of War, an unknown Tongan god (rediscovered after reconnecting after post cultural genocide), Polynesian Samoan God Mafuiʻe god of earthquakes, Chinese goddess Nu Wa, Chinese god Hou Yi, Chinese goddess Chang’E,  Japanese god Fujin, Japanese god Susanoo, Japanese god Inari, Japanese goddess Izanami, Japanese god Izanagi, and Amaterasu a Japanese sky goddess. 
Even as a demigod and alien hybrid they needed to prove worthy as a champion and hero. They underwent tests. The demigod trial was a physical and spiritual trial. The alien hybrid trial was an emotional and intellectual trial. During these trials they still had their powers. Trials are difficult and made harder than normal since they are a demigod metahuman and alien hybrid superhuman superhero. 
The divine trials they go through as a demigod to be given divinity as a hero and champion. Their valor, heroism, and selflessness was tested. The reason they go through as an alien hybrid was they want to see where the hybrid is in regards to life. It was a logic vs morality debate. After the demigod trial they were given divinity and a new power. After the alien hybrid trial the reward given to them was a shield, armor, and weapon. Their quick thinking, adaptability, peace making, & intelligence was tested. After the tests and trials they learned a lot about themselves as a person and grew as a person. Even as a hero they had to learn about their powers and why they were given them.
Kanai Makoa Latu/Attahua Kamalani Latu or Kalani the fakaleiti or mahu deity. They are usually laughing as a trickster, comedian, & jokester. They were born as a mahu demigod with power over air, mist, smoke, fog, water, snow, & ice and demigoddess with power over earth, wood, stone, metal, fire, magma, lava, lightning, thunder, & storms. After being chosen as a champion of a more senior god/goddess and underwent trials as a hero. It was trials hard for even a metahuman and superhuman cuz divinity to them should not be easily given in this world. 
They are a mahu demigod of the art and sciences. They are a new era demigod/goddess of the elements.
They are a god of philosophy, business, and law and goddess of magic, dreams, resurrection, and prophecy. They are divinely beautiful. They have dark brown skin the color of polished oak, brown eyes the color of new forged copper, & short black hair color of the night sky. They are very tall, broad shouldered, & very muscular. They wear stylized gold and ruby colored chainmail, metal, and leather full plate armor. They usually wear a hooded cloak that is dyed gray-blue over their full plated armor. 
In the divine form the Asian Pasifika and Afro Latine Native demigod and alien hybrid main character’s existence as a deity itself is its own inherent magic foci. Rather than the person, it’s the space they occupy within a pantheon that acts as the foci. And the manifestation of magic from that foci borrows from their dominion over air, mist, smoke, fog, water, snow, & ice as a demigod and power over earth, wood, stone, metal, fire, magma, lava, lightning, thunder, & storms as a demigoddess. They adapt quickly when learning their opponents movements, strengths, strategies, weaknesses, and attack patterns. They then can read their next attack minutes or seconds ahead.
Dominant, potent, or latent genetics. The First Born or Scions or Etanxiians or Iuyamians. A race of highly advanced beings with extremely potent and developed genetics.  They were advanced by a tier zero or tier one species of alien humanoids called the Titans, Primordials or First Ones who experimented with their dna or genetics on a species wide scale. The Iuyumanians and Ethanxiians can create offspring with other humanoid races. Those hybrid children can become just as powerful, if not more powerful, than their full alien humanoid parents. They are compatible with other alien humanoids, alien hybrids, divine beings, demigods, cyborgs or bionics, and augmented and enhanced humans. 
Species Creation Story:
Uplifted from primitive origins by the First Ones, Primordials, Creators, Progenitors, or Titans. They are highly social. They went through several periods of advancement, stagnation, & regression. Several similar humanoid species that united to one alien species after allying and interbreeding with each other. Each species has several races and many cultural identities. They united themselves into tribes and clans of nations or kingdoms of confederations, empires, federations, and factions. 
Species with vast superhuman abilities like superhuman: strength, perception, awareness, intelligence, endurance, stamina, constitution, agility, dexterity, flexibility, and speed. Have vast psionic and biotic powers including natural telekinesis, empathy, teleportation, forcefield, time control, & telepathy. They can run several parallel thoughts and scenarios simultaneously in seconds.
The First Ones, Titans, or Primordials were an ancient, technologically and psychically advanced intelligent species of humanoid alien beings. They established an interstellar empire across the Andromeda Galaxy, Antennae Galaxy, Bode’s, Cartwheel, Circinus, Condor, Eye of God, Fireworks, Milky Way Galaxy, Needle, Pinwheel, Sombrero, Spider, Sunflower, Spider, & Whirlpool Galaxy tens of millions of Terran years ago. The Primordials ruled over the universe before the development of most of the other sentient species of the multiverse. This empire or federation was later given to the Iuyamnians and Etanxiians. The Primordials had been the first species to attain sentience in the galaxy and the first species to cross the galaxy making them also the first star-faring species in galactic history.
A humanoid species that can sustain themselves on only solar radiation, light, lunar rays, air, spiritual energy, water, natural energy, and oxygen. A peaceful and benevolent species who were busy with studying and propagating sentient evolution within the universe. Even death was no barrier. For when the First Ones, Primordials, or Titans spirits eventually left their nigh mortal bodies. They dissolved peacefully back into the cosmos to be reborn again in new forms.
The Titans or Primordials possessed extremely advanced technology, superhuman powers, supernatural lifespan, and potent psychic or psionic powers. A gentle and benevolent sentient species, the Primordials or Titans, wished to nurture the younger, sentient species of the galaxy and spread life and intelligence across the universe. On their travels, the Primordials, Titans, or First Ones seeded many worlds across the multiverse with life. They also encouraged the development and advancement of indigenous intelligent life. Some of them chose to experiment on these species on a galactic scale creating the psionically powerful Iuyumanians, Yuganians, and Etanxxians.   
The Primordials or Titans believed that all life was useful and had value. They are known to have brought about the rise of numerous new sentient species. They impregnated millions of worlds with new life which they made their own. Only a Precursor, Celestial, Necrons, Forerunner, Ancient Human, or Xelnaga comes close to their power and technology. 
They were capable of extracting an individual's complete mental and emotional thoughts, biological patterns. and memories. That could then be encoded in either another biological body, in an inorganic (like a robot or synthetic), or stored as data on a terminal. An individual's pattern could also be imprinted over another body in a clone. They had the technology to reproduce entire individuals from encoded DNA/RNA protein samples in data streams.
They utilized various camouflaging technologies, which generated visual, textile, & auditory delusions and distortions that could effectively hide the user or users from even starship's sensors. 
Their sensors were capable of instantaneous scanning and detection across interstellar distances. The sensors were also highly accurate. They were capable of providing a detailed analysis of a planet's geological and ecological composition from lightyears away. They used an advanced form of communications, allowing instant data transfer over vast distances. These communications were routed over encryption protocols which could be used to track the source or destination of the communication. 
Their warships could be enormous in scale. From around a hundred to even several kilometers in length. They explore the universe in world ship-sized artificial starships the size of planets to colonize and terraform moons, comets, asteroids, planetoids, & planets.
They created a network of slipspace portals for high-traffic slipspace transit across the galaxy. They had slip space and warp drive faster than light drives to travel through star systems, realities, galaxies, dimensions, universes, timelines, & multiverses in the omniverse. They had mastered many other methods of higher-dimensional manipulation. They were capable of altering the fabric of time and space. They created a nexus of gateway of interconnected portals to go anyway in the star system, galaxy, nebula, in universe, multiverse, & omniverse no matter the timeline, reality, or dimension. 
They had an unparalleled knowledge of quantum science, which enabled them much of their sophisticated technology. Even after billions of years, First Ones, Ancient Ones, Titans, or Primordials technology still advanced at a comparatively rapid rate. With a number of new breakthroughs and developments occurring within even a single decade, century, or millennium.
They had mastered the use of various energy fields. From fields to manipulate gravity and magnetic fields. To fields used to restrain individuals to even armies. Fields used to block the movement of entire fleets or armadas of ships. To the containment and collection fields they used to harness entire stars for energy production. Entire planets could be made habitable even in conditions of lethal stellar radiation with planetary shields.
Their technological achievements were without parallel in the known universe. They managed to create solidified surfaces out of light with hard light. They could use slipspace to teleport between locations almost instantaneously across the galaxy. 
They were able to travel across the star systems in seconds, across galaxies in minutes, or across the universe in hours through the development of transdimensional warp space or slipspace technology. They were also able to travel through the multiverse through a network of interconnected warp gates that instantaneously connected their far-flung outer rim interstellar colonies throughout the galaxy.
They could create numerous forms of advanced machinery. With the surrounding materials with the use of advanced robotic humanoid androids, synthetics, or robots. They built world ships to colonize and terraform the stars. They constructed artificial planets and star systems. They terraformed planetoids,  asteroids, comets, & planets. 
They were behind the creation and advancement of several sentient species. They monitored the evolution of other sentient species throughout the universe. Intervening in ways that ensured their civilizations would follow paths of peace free of conflict ending rampant militarism, ending wars (proxy wars, global wars, civil wars, and intergalactic warfare), stopping climate catastrophe, ending rampant capitalism (of global billionaires and intergalactic trillionaires), ending famine, ending planetary hunger, stopping genocide, building infrastructure, & helping education. 
Their technology is remarkably resilient, being able to remain intact for over a hundred millennia. They are inherently patient as a species. Even before attempting to journey out into interstellar space of their star system or galaxy. They made an extensive study of astronomy, quantum mechanics, physics, and astrophysics.
The technology of their species rivals that of the Xel'naga, Old Ones, Forerunners, Oans, New Gods, Kryptonian, Eldari, Protoss, Tamaraneans, Martians, Necrons, & Thanagarians. Responsible for creation and advancement of several alien species. Exiting their home solar system after colonizing and terraforming their home solar system. After discovering faster than light travel and warp technology left their solar system.
They started to procreate with other sentient technologically advanced species in the cosmos integrating their civilization with theirs joining each other in an intergalactic empire or federation with the Iuyamians chief among them as their defenders. For millennia their technology was sophisticated and their empire thrived. They entered the sphere of fantasy and science fiction. 
They are an ancient and highly advanced species of humanoid aliens whose vast empire federation, confederation, or empire of planets extends the width and breadth of a known galaxy.
They terraformed settlements on other planets in the universe. They built colossal space stations and giant mobile planets. They built  an intergalactic flotilla of naval dreadnoughts, battleships, carriers, and battlecruisers the size of world ships shielding their intergalactic empire or federation. 
Eons ago, in a period of growth their species reached out amid the cosmos in search of new planets, solar systems, & galaxies to inhabit. They fabricated colonies on other planets, solar systems, & galaxies and made colossal technology to terraform them. For epochs their species prospered fulfilling phenomenon never seen before. 
They are armed with ballistic, hard light weaponry. They use walking tanks, battle walkers, mecha suits and powered armor suits. They created simple and dumb AIs and advanced complex AIs. They created hover vehicles. They live on advanced planets and have technology and resources that far exceeds futuristic earth's and Terran federations technology. After the creation of the Federation composed of the now independent and sovereign Sol, Vega, & Polaris Systems most were allowed to return home by the new intergalactic government of this cosmic alliance after the fall of Earth and the Terran Confederation.

Died stopping a super weapon from being fired stopping the Terrran Hegemony from committing intergalactic genocide. The reason they died stopping the super weapon is. The super weapon was going to be fired by the Terran hegemony/dominion/empire to commit intergalactic genocide to get a few star systems or a galaxy to surrender to them. They were sent to destroy it by a self-destruct button on a console deep inside the facility of the super weapon. The terran dominion/empire got wind of this and sent an agent to destroy it. Making them destroy it manually with a bomb. They died weaponizing the warhead and destroying the super weapon.  Died stopping the Galaxy Buster. 
When they died they were buried in a metal coffin to be shot out into space after a military funeral as a former super soldier. One of their alien spouses and partners who can fly using solar radiation picks up the coffin after using a star fighter. She flies out to the star system (of her home giant planet) that has a few suns, several moons orbiting each planet, & many planets orbiting the suns. She puts the spacecraft on autopilot and sets a flight path around the orbits of the stars, moons, & planets. She puts them inside a power armor with a jetpack. She proceeds to take them out of the coffin and opens up the cargo bay. She then has them absorb solar radiation, lunar rays, & cosmic energy from her star system to revive him/her/them by inputting the orbit to the ai of their personal power armor suit. 
After absorbing all these rays, energy, & radiation they are revived but also dangerously supercharged from all the excess energy and radiation. Like a few hundred percent more than normal as a demigod and alien hybrid. They were like a mini star about to go supernova. Their hair, eyes, skin, hands, feet, & mouth were blazing with energy. Optic blasts from their eyes, breath blasts from their mouth, & energy blasts from their hands were radiating with power. The power armor suit was able to absorb some of the excess energy to overcharge the defense and offense abilities of the suit but not enough to absorb all of the excess energy. Thinking that an enemy force comes to fight them, seeing them, their alien spouse and partner, & knowing some parts of their alien hybrid ancestry as a result of being an enemy of their alien hybrid mothers people. And the revived demigod and alien hybrid proceeds to fight them to burn the rest of this energy.
Died from stopping a large meteorite from destroying a space frigate. Kanaloa Hawaiian God of the Underworld in some more modern reimaginings. He is a student of Milu. He revived him/her/them. He/she/they met him in a metaphysical trial since he is a god of the underworld. It was a trial of reflection since he asked him/her/them to be introspective in this trial.
Died fighting for the rebel army against them once they were freed by allies that the ship cruiser frigate corvette or battle cruiser they were on was shot by plasma or laser batteries or cannons that shot them out into space and they died from lack of oxygen. The power armor suit was locked by the AI and it wasn’t permanent death but it does count as they were clinically dead for several minutes. Also has consequences on them physically mentally and emotionally after since death shouldn’t be a simple thing even for a demigod and alien hybrid character. A dream-like trial occurs in the afterlife before they come back to life. Haumea, the Hawaiian goddess of birth, talks to them in the afterlife to help their rebirth.
They were killed by a behemoth created by adamantine, mithril, divine iron, heavenly bronze, stellar titanium, & celestial steel and other magical metals. A monster made sentient by arcane and esoteric aether and nether. It was created by demigods, deities, & titans. It was commanded by enemy gods and goddesses. The being was sent to destroy a  county by enemy gods and goddesses upon hearing their demigod existence. It was sent by the Norse as a rival pantheon. It was sent as a result of Odin, old king of the Norse gods, learning the relationship between the Asian Pasifika and Afro Latine Native demigod and alien hybrid and their Norse demigod partners. The partners being Aesir Ylva Helga Olafsdottir (Asgardian and Vanir hybrid demigod child of Skadi) and Josefine Yrsa Hansen (Norse demigod child of Freya). He/she/they sacrificed themselves by overloading their alien hybrid and demigod powers to destroy the monster to save a county in a colony of indigenous and citizens of color that were targeted when it was sent to find him/her/them. 
They were revived by being placed in a healing vat or regeneration tank full of blue, purple, & green liquids that healed them as an alien hybrid. The healing vat also had nanites that repaired, upgraded, & customized their cybernetic and bionic implants and enhancements.
They were slain by a spear with a blade made by the strongest metals in the omniverse that cut through the chest of their power armor. The power armor’s weak point was exposed by an explosive javelin coated with unknown substances that pierced the back of their power armor. The javelin was thrown from across the battlefield. After it pierced their armor it exploded. It was created by remnants of the earth government and Terran dominion regime. It was wielded by a leader of the Forces of Evil. 
When they were brought back to life, because of how they died, what happened to them when they were alive, what happened to them in the afterlife, & how they were brought back to life.
Their mind was possessed, their heart was corrupted, their mana was contaminated, their soul was tainted, & their body was decayed. They had to be purified and healed by nanites, medicine, healers, potions, and magic when they were resurrected by talismans, charms, & amulets.

Museu do Jardim Botânico destaca papel da ciência ante crise ecológica

O Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro (JBRJ) abre nesta sexta-feira (8), às 10h, um novo espaço cultural, com entrada gratuita para o público e classificação livre. Trata-se do Museu do Jardim Botânico, que funcionará no casarão do início do século 20, com entrada pela Rua Jardim Botânico, 1008, no bairro do mesmo nome, e que recebeu investimento de R$ 12 milhões da Shell para revitalização. O Instituto de Desenvolvimento e Gestão (IDG) será responsável pela gestão do museu, que funcionará de quinta a terça-feira, das 10h às 17h, com a última entrada às 16h. Os ingressos podem ser retirados pelo site Botanical Garden RJ - Tickets. O museu conta com 14 salas no total, sendo 12 expositivas.  O presidente do Jardim Botânico, Sérgio Besserman, disse nesta terça-feira (5) à Agência Brasil que o novo museu mostra a ciência que a instituição faz, “a importância da ciência feita no JB para conservação e restauração da natureza do Brasil, das florestas principalmente, de todos os biomas; e também um pouco da história do Jardim”. Fundado em 13 de junho de 1808, o JB surgiu de decisão do então príncipe regente português, D. João de Bragança, de instalar no local uma fábrica de pólvora e um jardim para aclimatação de espécies vegetais originárias de outras partes do mundo. Atualmente é o Instituto de Pesquisas Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro, órgão federal vinculado ao Ministério do Meio Ambiente e considerado um dos mais importantes centros de pesquisa mundiais nas áreas de botânica e conservação da biodiversidade. Relevância Besserman informou que não se mostrará somente o ferramental tecnológico, mas também a relevância da ciência para enfrentar a crise ecológica e apoiar o combate à crise de biodiversidade no Brasil. “Há uma participação muito intensa dos cientistas do JB. Cada peça das exposições permanentes de cada sala, tudo foi feito com participação muito direta e intensa dos próprios cientistas do equipamento, junto com a museologia do IDG”. Segundo Besseraman, o novo museu reforça o lema do Jardim Botânico: “Muito mais que um jardim: ciência, ensino e história”. As políticas públicas e ações assertivas desenvolvidas pelo JB para conhecimento e conservação da flora brasileira ao longo de mais de 200 anos de história serão compartilhadas com o público, revelando detalhes das expedições de campo, do trabalho dos botânicos, da pesquisa científica aplicada à conservação da biodiversidade e as atividades dos laboratórios. “Há salas mostrando pesquisas avançadas de biologia molecular para identificar origem e até localização de madeira, o que ajuda a combater o desmatamento ilegal”, acrescentou Besserman. Além das exposições permanentes, o museu terá conteúdos interativos e ampla programação educativa e cultural. Logo na entrada do museu, os visitantes conhecerão uma exposição de longa duração, concebida em colaboração com um comitê de funcionários e pesquisadores do Jardim Botânico, que traz a essência do novo equipamento cultural e científico por meio de mais de dez experiências. Um dos destaques é a obra Sumaúma: Copa, Casa, Cosmos, filme de Estevão Ciavatta, com narração de Regina Casé, que promove uma imersão virtual na sumaúma (Ceiba pentandra), árvore amazônica presente na coleção viva do instituto e carregada de simbolismos. Para muitos povos, a sumaúma é o lar de entidades divinas ou mesmo um portal que leva a diferentes mundos. Obra Sumaúma: Copa, Casa, Cosmos, no Museu do Jardim Botânico - Tomaz Silva/Agência Brasil Indígenas O espaço apresenta instalações do artista e ativista dos direitos indígenas Denilson Baniwa, além da exposição temporária Mbae Kaá, o que tem na mata: Barbosa Rodrigues entre plantas e pajés. O trabalho é do ex-presidente do JBRJ João Barbosa Rodrigues e mostra que, enquanto a ciência ocidental dá nome às plantas pelo sistema do naturalista sueco Charles Linneo, os indígenas tupis-guaranis as denominavam por alguma característica apresentada, como planta com mancha amarela, planta com espinho grande, por exemplo. “É sempre alguma coisa relativa à planta. Essa exposição ficará por alguns meses no museu e depois será substituída por outra, também temporária”, informou Besserman. Segundo ele, as exposições permanentes serão atualizadas e modificadas, mas ficarão sempre abertas ao público. Fazem parte ainda do museu uma sala de leitura, com diversos livros e versões digitais de obras raras do acervo da Biblioteca Barbosa Rodrigues do Jardim Botânico, que poderão ser folheados em telas táteis; uma sala multiuso para encontros, palestras e eventos e uma ampla programação educativa e cultural. Na avaliação de Besserman, o novo equipamento é uma iniciativa boa para o Rio de Janeiro, “para valorizar a ciência em geral, assim como o conhecimento dos povos tradicionais, e um novo espaço cultural importante para o país”. Conhece A Casa?
“Oi?”, você deve estar se perguntando. Eu também me questionei quando vi na TV sobre A Casa, Museu do Objeto Brasileiro, espaço que existe desde 1997 e só agora me dei conta de sua existência.
Lembro que a matéria era sobre bordado, mas como estávamos no período da pandemia, acabei deixando em suspenso a visita.
Os anos se passaram e, semana passada, vi mais uma vez na TV uma dica de fim de semana para ir para A Casa, desta vez sobre artesanato da Amazônia. Trata-se da exposição “Trama Canoê”, em cartaz, seguindo o seu curso como um barquinho, e a bordo cestos, abanadores, bancos e itens de decoração e utilitários.
Decidi pegar o sábado ensolarado (ao menos, à tarde) e ir ao espaço, próximo do Instituto Tomie Otake, com meu trenzinho mesmo, rs!
Fomos recebidas pela simpática monitora Camila (que é de Itaquera!), que explicou como são elaboradas as artes expostas das regiões de São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Maués, Novo Airão e tantas outras beneficiadas por uma parceria com o Sebrae local.
Mano, que mostra linda! E o mais legal: podemos tocar nas peças, sentir como foi elaborado e ter uma ideia de como esse trabalho foi, literalmente, tramado, proporcionando ao visitante uma experiência bem interessante.
Toque nas cestarias, em especial a Urucum (que encabeça esse post), que lembra muito esse condimento que adoro!
A própria Casa já é uma experiência, já que fica de esquina, quase uma paralela, que conversa com um jardim e a avenida Pedroso de Moraes (olha, mesmo com o semáforo é meio chatinho pra atravessar, já que o fluxo de carros é intenso, mesmo no fim de semana).
Só tem um andar e bem ao lado a lojinha (tava fechada, por estar em horário de almoço, mas sem problema, vou ver se passo por lá novamente). Dica: não deixe, claro, de assinar o livro de presença e de pedir informações; com explicação foi bem mais divertida a visita.
Só senti falta de uma ação educativa (nem sei se tem!), porque seria muito massa ter atividades de criatividade com o pessoal. Por exemplo, uma oficina de desenho ou mesmo de criação de uma peça em fibra de Arumã, muito usada pela etnia Baniwa.
Quem sabe, não?
A exposição segue até 10 de setembro.

No SESC Guarulhos, coletiva questiona o que é ser negro e indígena nos dias de hoje

O que significa ser negro e ser indígena no mundo contemporâneo? A pergunta ecoa e funciona como um elo entre as obras da instalação Terra de Gigantes, com concepção e curadoria de Daniel Lima, que ocupa o Sesc Guarulhos entre 30 de março e 03 de setembro de 2023. A mostra propõe uma experiência imersiva coletiva cujo aparato tecnológico foi desenvolvido para garantir uma vivência interativa singular ao espectador. Daiara Tukano, Davi Kopenawa Yanomami, Denilson Baniwa, Jonathan Neguebites, Jota Mombaça, Juçara Marçal, Katú Mirim, Legítima Defesa, Marcelino Freire, Naná Vasconcelos e Naruna Costa compõem o time de artistas e coletivos convidados que atualizam a visão de nação brasileira a partir da experiência de ser um corpo negro e indígena no país. “Terra de Gigantes tem como proposição cruzar essas gerações de artistas negros e indígenas para questionar um ideário brasileiro contemporâneo, reivindicando outra imagem de Brasil, não aquela criada pelo Modernismo a partir da perspectiva branca”, explica Lima. Pensada a partir das memórias dos parques temáticos – trem fantasma, labirinto de espelhos, montanhas e rodas –, Terra de Gigantes propõe um jogo de proporções em que o visitante é reduzido ou ampliado diante de projeções em diferentes escalas. ��s vezes gigante, às vezes minúsculo, o público é constantemente convidado a interagir com os artistas que, em cada obra, se tornam personagens desse percurso construído como um longa de ficção, num passeio através de cenas que, juntas, compõem uma ambiência fantástica. Um dos corações da mostra, Davi Kopenawa Yanomami, liderança ianomâmi e autor do livro “A queda do Céu”, aguarda seu interlocutor antes de se apresentar gigantescamente em cena. Em sua obra, ele fala ao espectador sobre a força de resistência que existe não só em sua figura, mas na cultura do povo ianomâmi que, simbolicamente, através da dança de seus xamãs, garante que o céu permaneça sobre nossas cabeças e não caia. Em Terra de Gigantes, a imensa figura de Kopenawa, projetado em escala aumentada de 800%, aborda temas sensíveis e atuais, como a dimensão atual da crise ianomâmi e o projeto de civilização que se construiu a partir de um progresso destrutivo. Daiara Tukano, artista que pesquisa o direito à memória dos povos indígenas, expõe dez pinturas da série “Kahpi Hori” que, em Terra de Gigantes, deixam o suporte da tela e ganham animação em formato tridimensional. Nesta sala de imersão visual e sonora de imensas dimensões (3m x 3m x 3m), Tukano instaura um outro tempo de miração dentro da exposição, operando como um mergulho no universo simbólico de uma das expressões da arte indígena contemporânea brasileira. Imerso em um cubo com projeções mapeadas nas paredes e no piso, e sonorizado com cantos entoados pela própria artista, o espectador vivencia uma experiência que sugere visões alcançadas por meio do caapi (ayahuasca), a medicina de origem de todo o conhecimento, história, língua, cantos e desenhos do povo Tukano. Jonathan Neguebites, dançarino da 1a geração do passinho carioca, explora essa manifestação cultural e periférica ligada às batidas mais maduras do funk enquanto dança ao som vocal de Juçara Marçal, expoente da renovação da música popular brasileira. Aos dois, junta-se música de Naná Vasconcelos (1944 - 2016), papa da percussão. Naruna Costa, atriz, diretora e musicista, dialoga com a obra do escritor Marcelino Freire, interpretando o texto “Da paz”, que ganhou notoriedade em slams e competições de poemas ao falar sobre uma mãe que teve um filho morto pela polícia e se recusa a ir em uma manifestação pela paz. Costa é mais uma gigante da mostra, interpretando uma figura materna que simboliza a revolução por um novo Brasil que somente as mães de filhos que sofreram violências podem convocar. Ao todo, são 11 cenas audiovisuais que, entre diferentes caminhos poéticos, como textos, músicas, performances, entrevistas e animações, examinam os significados sobre ser negro e ser indígena no mundo contemporâneo, abrindo espaço para se pensar o amanhã a partir de referenciais plurais. É o aparato tecnológico desenvolvido para a instalação que garante a experiência imersiva em um universo onde as forças poéticas e mitológicas da cultura afro-ameríndia são evocadas através de sons, luzes e imagens. Terra de Gigantes ocupa o espaço expositivo do Sesc Guarulhos, uma área com cerca de 450m2, na qual o visitante fará uma experiência vivencial de pelo menos 45 minutos, embalada pelo tema Africadeus, de Naná Vasconcelos, música incidental que amarra toda a instalação. A exposição cria uma nova obra musical, na qual o próprio Naná, Juçara Marçal e Daiara Tukano mesclam berimbau e vozes em diferentes canais, numa colagem que origina uma ópera musical afro-indígena. SOBRE O CURADOR Daniel Lima, Natal, 1973 Daniel Lima é artista, curador, editor e pesquisador. Bacharel em Artes Plásticas, Mestre em Psicologia Clínica e doutorando em Meios e Processos Audiovisuais pela Universidade de São Paulo e membro do laboratório LabArteMídia. Desde 2001, cria investigações-ações em pesquisas relacionadas à mídia, questões raciais, resistências coletivas, presente colonial e análises geopolíticas. Membro fundador de diversos coletivos, entre eles, a Frente 3 de Fevereiro com trabalhos desenvolvidos em várias cidades do mundo. Recebeu diversos prêmios nas áreas de Artes Visuais, Cinema e Estudos Sociais – recentemente agraciado com o 64º Prêmio Jabuti (2022) como editor na categoria “Artes”. Foi coordenadora da Rádio Yandê, primeira web-rádio indígena do Brasil - www.radioyande.com de 2015 à 2021. Ganhadora do Prêmio PIPA Online 2021, organizado pelo Instituto PIPA como mais relevante prêmio brasileiro de artes visuais. Estuda a cultura, história e espiritualidade tradicional de seu povo junto à sua família. Reside em Brasília, DF. Davi Kopenawa Yanomami Liderança reconhecida internacionalmente em sua luta pela defesa do território. Foi tradutor e chefe de posto da Funai (Fundação Nacional do Índio). Na década de 1970, percorreu a área ianomâmi em função de diversos trabalhos, tomando consciência de sua extensão e de sua unidade cultural. No auge da invasão garimpeira, engajou-se na luta pela demarcação do seu território, junto da CCPY (Comissão pela Criação do Parque Ianomâmi), numa campanha que durou cerca de 14 anos. Por sua atuação, recebeu o prêmio global 500 da ONU e diversas outras homenagens nacionais e internacionais, como o prêmio Itaú Cultural 30 anos, em 2017. É doutor Honoris-Causa pela Unifesp, outorgado em março de 2023. Autor do livro “A Queda do Céu”, é codiretor do documentário experimental “Xapiri”, e assina o roteiro do filme “A última Floresta” em parceria com Luis Bolognesi. Denilson Baniwa Nasceu em Mariuá, Rio Negro, Amazonas. É artista visual e comunicador que tem, a partir do Movimento Indígena Amazônico e trânsito pelo universo não-indígena, seus processos artísticos e sociais. Às vezes o desafio não é ocupar posições. Por exemplo, quando as que existem não servem, é necessário criar algo novo. Denilson Baniwa é um artista indígena; é indígena e é artista, e seu ser indígena lhe leva a inventar um outro jeito de fazer arte, onde processos de imaginar e fazer são por força intervenções em uma dinâmica histórica (a história da colonização dos territórios indígenas que hoje conhecemos como Brasil) e interpelações a aqueles que o encontram a abraçar suas responsabilidades. Jonathan Neguebites Cria de Realengo, Zona Oeste do Rio de Janeiro, Neguebites conquistou o Brasil e o mundo com a sua dança. O dançarino e professor ficou conhecido em 2016, quando começou a ganhar suas primeiras Batalhas de Passinho, tendo sido campeão de 4 delas: Batalha da Flupp, Batalha do Batan, Desafio do Passinho e Hip Funk Festival. Foi na época das suas primeiras batalhas que foi convidado a participar de um evento do Heavy Baile e, depois disso, nunca mais saiu: hoje ele é um dos artistas que compõem o coletivo de funk carioca. Jota Mombaça Artista e escritora indisciplinar cujo trabalho deriva de poesia, teoria crítica e performance. Sua prática está relacionada à crítica anticolonial e à desobediência de gênero. Através da performance, da ficção visionária e de estratégias situacionais de produção de conhecimento, pretende ensaiar o fim do mundo tal como o conhecemos e a figuração do que vem depois de desalojarmos o sujeito colonial-moderno de seu pódio. Já apresentou trabalhos em diversos contextos institucionais, como as 32ª e 34ª Bienal de São Paulo, 10ª Bienal de Berlim, 22ª Bienal de Sydney e 46ª Salão Nacional de Artistas da Colômbia. É autora do livro “Não vão nos matar agora”, publicado em Portugal em 2019 pela EGEAC e no Brasil em 2021 pela Editora Cobogó. Juçara Marçal Cantora do grupo Metá Metá. Integrou os grupos Vésper Vocal, A Barca e Ilu Obá De Min. Lançou em 2014 o disco solo “Encarnado”. O álbum ganhou o Prêmio APCA – Melhor Álbum de 2014, Prêmio Governador do Estado – Melhor Álbum – Voto do Júri, e Prêmio Multishow de Música Compartilhada, entre outros. Katú Mirim Mulher lésbica, indígena, rapper, compositora, atriz e criadora de conteúdo, reconhecida por suas letras, que através do rap/rock, reconta a história da colonização pela ótica indígena. Sua arte e conteúdos são sobre as temáticas que atravessam sua vida, identidade, gênero, lesbianidade e maternidade. Sempre fazendo o recorte entre o futuro e a ancestralidade, ela traz uma visão decolonial sobre o futurismo e a tecnologia. O futuro só pode ser ancestral. Legítima Defesa Grupo de artistas, atores e atrizes, dj’s e músicos, de ação poética, portanto política, que tem como foco a reflexão e representação da negritude, seus desdobramentos sociais históricos e seus reflexos na construção da persona negra no âmbito das linguagens artísticas. Constituindo, desta forma, um diálogo com outras vozes poéticas que tenham a negritude como tema e pesquisa. Em 2022 estreou sua mais nova peça “Améfrica: em Três Atos” também contemplado pelo Prêmio Zé Renato. Marcelino Freire Escritor, nasceu em 1967, em Sertânia, Pernambuco. Viveu no Recife e desde 1991 reside em São Paulo. É autor, entre outros, dos livros “Angu de Sangue” (Ateliê Editorial) e “Contos Negreiros” (Editora Record – Prêmio Jabuti 2006). Em 2004, idealizou e organizou a antologia de microcontos “Os Cem Menores Contos Brasileiros do Século” (Ateliê). Alguns de seus contos foram adaptados para teatro. Participou de várias antologias no Brasil e no exterior. “Contos Negreiros” foi publicado em 2013 na Argentina, pela Editora Santiago Arcos e com tradução de Lucía Tennina, e no México, pela Librosampleados, com tradução de Armando Escobar. Criou a Balada Literária, evento que acontece em São Paulo desde 2006, com edições em Teresina (desde 2017) e Salvador (desde 2015). Naná Vasconcelos Nasceu no Recife. Dotado de uma curiosidade intensa, indo da música erudita do brasileiro Villa-Lobos ao roqueiro Jimi Hendrix, Naná aprendeu a tocar praticamente todos os instrumentos de percussão, embora nos anos 60 tenha se especializado no berimbau. Depois das mais variadas experiências musicais, mudou-se para o Rio de Janeiro e começou a trabalhar com Milton Nascimento. Em 1970, o saxofonista argentino Gato Barbieri o convidou para juntar-se ao seu grupo. Apresentaram-se em Nova York e Europa, com destaque para o festival de Montreaux, na Suíça, onde o percussionista encantou público e crítica. Ao término da turnê, fixou residência em Paris, França, durante cinco anos, onde gravou o seu primeiro álbum – “Africadeus” (71). No Brasil, Naná gravou o seu segundo disco “Amazonas” (72). Começou, então, uma bem-sucedida parceria com o pianista e compositor Egberto Gismonti, durante oito anos, que resultou em três álbuns – “Dança das Cabeças”, “Sol do Meio-Dia” e “Duas Vozes”. De volta a Nova York, formou o grupo “Codona”, com Don Cherry e Colin Walcott, também gravando e fazendo turnê com a banda do guitarrista Pat Metheny. Trabalhando com artistas das mais variadas tendências, Naná Vasconcelos gravou com B.B. O trabalho de Naná sempre demonstrou a amplitude do seu talento, e nos anos 80 gravou o disco “Saudades”, concerto de berimbau e orquestra. Depois, vieram os álbuns “Bush Dance” e ‘Rain Dance”, suas experiências com instrumentos eletrônicos. Daí por diante, Naná esteve envolvido mais diretamente com o cenário musical brasileiro ao fazer a direção artística do festival Panorama Percussivo Mundial (Percpan), em Salvador, e do projeto ABC Musical, além de participações especiais em álbuns de Milton Nascimento, Caetano Veloso, Marisa Monte e Mundo Livre S/A, entre outros. Em meio a inúmeros lançamentos fora do país, Naná Vasconcelos lançou no Brasil o disco “Contando Estórias” (94), depois os CDs “Contaminação” e “Minha Lõa”. He/she/they were told if they returned home to Oceania or South America as an Asian Pasifika and Afro Latine Native they would be assassinated (by spec ops and black ops paramilitary operatives or military supersoldiers) or captured (and imprisoned on a black site prison planet) by the occupying settler government of Earth. 
After the creation of the Federation composed of the now independent and sovereign Sol, Vega, & Polaris Systems most were allowed to return home by the new intergalactic government of this cosmic alliance after the fall of Earth and the Terran Confederation.

Died stopping a super weapon from being fired stopping the Terrran Hegemony from committing intergalactic genocide. The reason they died stopping the super weapon is. The super weapon was going to be fired by the Terran hegemony/dominion/empire to commit intergalactic genocide to get a few star systems or a galaxy to surrender to them. They were sent to destroy it by a self-destruct button on a console deep inside the facility of the super weapon. The terran dominion/empire got wind of this and sent an agent to destroy it. Making them destroy it manually with a bomb. They died weaponizing the warhead and destroying the super weapon.  Died stopping the Galaxy Buster. 
When they died they were buried in a metal coffin to be shot out into space after a military funeral as a former super soldier.
One of their alien spouses and partners who can fly using solar radiation picks up the coffin after using a star fighter. She flies out to the star system (of her home giant planet) that has a few suns, several moons orbiting each planet, & many planets orbiting the suns. She puts the spacecraft on autopilot and sets a flight path around the orbits of the stars, moons, & planets. She puts them inside a power armor with a jetpack. She proceeds to take them out of the coffin and opens up the cargo bay. She then has them absorb solar radiation, lunar rays, & cosmic energy from her star system to revive him/her/them by inputting the orbit to the ai of their personal power armor suit. 
After absorbing all these rays, energy, & radiation they are revived but also dangerously supercharged from all the excess energy and radiation. Like a few hundred percent more than normal as a demigod and alien hybrid. They were like a mini star about to go supernova. Their hair, eyes, skin, hands, feet, & mouth were blazing with energy. Optic blasts from their eyes, breath blasts from their mouth, & energy blasts from their hands were radiating with power. The power armor suit was able to absorb some of the excess energy to overcharge the defense and offense abilities of the suit but not enough to absorb all of the excess energy. Thinking that an enemy force comes to fight them, seeing them, their alien spouse and partner, & knowing some parts of their alien hybrid ancestry as a result of being an enemy of their alien hybrid mothers people. And the revived demigod and alien hybrid proceeds to fight them to burn the rest of this energy.
Died from stopping a large meteorite from destroying a space frigate. Kanaloa Hawaiian God of the Underworld in some more modern reimaginings. He is a student of Milu. He revived him/her/them. He/she/they met him in a metaphysical trial since he is a god of the underworld. It was a trial of reflection since he asked him/her/them to be introspective in this trial.
Died fighting for the rebel army against them once they were freed by allies that the ship cruiser frigate corvette or battle cruiser they were on was shot by plasma or laser batteries or cannons that shot them out into space and they died from lack of oxygen. The power armor suit was locked by the AI and it wasn’t permanent death but it does count as they were clinically dead for several minutes. Also has consequences on them physically mentally and emotionally after since death shouldn’t be a simple thing even for a demigod and alien hybrid character. A dream-like trial occurs in the afterlife before they come back to life. Haumea, the Hawaiian goddess of birth, talks to them in the afterlife to help their rebirth.
They were killed by a behemoth created by adamantine, mithril, divine iron, heavenly bronze, stellar titanium, & celestial steel and other magical metals. A monster made sentient by arcane and esoteric aether and nether. It was created by demigods, deities, & titans. It was commanded by enemy gods and goddesses. The being was sent to destroy a  county by enemy gods and goddesses upon hearing their demigod existence. It was sent by the Norse as a rival pantheon. It was sent as a result of Odin, old king of the Norse gods, learning the relationship between the Asian Pasifika and Afro Latine Native demigod and alien hybrid and their Norse demigod partners. The partners being Aesir Ylva Helga Olafsdottir (Asgardian and Vanir hybrid demigod child of Skadi) and Josefine Yrsa Hansen (Norse demigod child of Freya). He/she/they sacrificed themselves by overloading their alien hybrid and demigod powers to destroy the monster to save a county in a colony of indigenous and citizens of color that were targeted when it was sent to find him/her/them. 
They were revived by being placed in a healing vat or regeneration tank full of blue, purple, & green liquids that healed them as an alien hybrid. The healing vat also had nanites that repaired, upgraded, & customized their cybernetic and bionic implants and enhancements.
They were slain by a spear with a blade made by the strongest metals in the omniverse that cut through the chest of their power armor. The power armor’s weak point was exposed by an explosive javelin coated with unknown substances that pierced the back of their power armor. The javelin was thrown from across the battlefield. After it pierced their armor it exploded. It was created by remnants of the earth government and Terran dominion regime. It was wielded by a leader of the Forces of Evil. 
When they were brought back to life, because of how they died, what happened to them when they were alive, what happened to them in the afterlife, & how they were brought back to life.
Their mind was possessed, their heart was corrupted, their mana was contaminated, their soul was tainted, & their body was decayed. They had to be purified and healed by nanites, medicine, healers, potions, and magic when they were resurrected by talismans, charms, & amulets.

Puzzle Monday: Official Language, Social Weapon Among our crosswords and other puzzles, we'll be featuring linguistic challenges from around the world from puzzle aficionado and writer Alex Bellos. A PDF of the puzzle, as well as the solution, can be downloaded below. São Gabriel da Cachoeira, a remote municipality in the Amazon rain forest, is unique in Brazil: It has five official languages. The municipality—an area the size of Tennessee, along the frontier with Colombia and Venezuela—has a population of about 46,000, about three quarters of whom are Indigenous peoples. The official languages are Portuguese, the national language of Brazil, as well as locally-spoken Tucano, Baniwa, Nheengatu, and Yanomamo. The idea of legislating for official languages at a municipal level is a Brazilian innovation, designed to help preserve Indigenous languages, promote cultural pride, and improve social mobility. If a language has official legal status in a municipality, the hope goes, local state institutions will eventually offer all their services in that language, through take-up of this policy has been slowed by politics and a lack of funding. “The whole project of ‘co-official languages’ is very recent,” says Federal University of Santa Catarina linguist Gilvan Müller de Oliveira, who is also the UNESCO Chair on Language Policies for Multilingualism. “But you need to see it as the start of a process that is very complex.” Müller de Oliveira was one of the initiators of the legislation that gives local languages official status alongside Portuguese. São Gabriel da Cachoeira was the first place to apply the law in 2002, when it made Tucano, Baniwa, and Nheengatu “co-official.” (Yanomamo was added in 2017.) Since 2002, nine other Indigenous languages have been made official in nine other municipalities across Brazil. These languages are, however, only a fraction of Brazil’s 200 or so Indigenous languages, which are spoken by around 350,000 people, or about one in three of the overall Indigenous population. All of these languages are considered endangered. (In addition, nine European languages have been made official in municipalities in the south of Brazil, where there was much European immigration. These include languages no longer spoken in mainland Europe, such as Talian [a Venetian dialect], Pomeranian, and Hunsrik.) “Now, [Indigenous] communities see their languages as part of their culture." Müller de Oliveira says that the introduction of co-official Indigenous languages must be understood as a small but important step in both saving these languages from extinction and improving the lives of Indigenous people. “The 20th century was a century of persecution [for the speakers of Indigenous languages]. In the 21st century the tide is turning,” he says. “Now, communities see their languages as part of their culture. An official language is a social weapon.” It is up to local government to offer services in all official languages, but this is barely happening. Local leaders often have other priorities, as well as a lack of funding. But it is also a reflection of the national political climate. Between 2019 and 2022, the Brazilian president was Jair Bolsonaro, a far-right ideologue who actively campaigned against the rights of Indigenous peoples. Now, however, the mood has changed. In January, the newly elected president (who also served from 2003 to 2010), Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, created a Ministry for Indigenous People, bringing hope to Indigenous communities that their interests, including the preservation of languages, will be better served by the federal government. In addition to their social and cultural importance, the languages are also of great interest to the linguistics community. Nheengatu (14,000 speakers) is a member of the Tupi language family, and was spread by Jesuit colonizers as a lingua franca for Indigenous people, and Baniwa (4,700 speakers) is from the Arauque language family. Two of the official languages, Tucano (4,600 speakers) and Yanomamo (20,000), on the other hand, are language isolates, meaning that there is not a family of other languages to which they belong. The puzzle below plays on one of the unusual aspects of the language. Claudiane Menezes, a biologist who speaks Nheengatu and grew up in São Gabriel da Cachoeira, says that there has been an increase in the acceptance of Indigenous languages there in recent years. This is partly due to their status as official languages, and also a result of new education policy. “The languages are more ‘visible’ because schools are now obliged to teach a native language,” she says. “In a few public places—like the local notary—I’m told you can get attended by someone speaking in the official languages.” Müller de Oliveira hopes that the co-official status of Indigenous languages will push local leaders in places such as São Gabriel da Cachoeira to introduce written materials in these languages. “The statistics are worrying. The census says that the number of native speakers of the Indigenous languages is decreasing,” he says. “If these languages are not being used in the internet, in digital form, young people will quickly start to use Portuguese instead. “We really hope that things will change.” Stumped? Museu do Jardim Botânico destaca papel da ciência ante crise ecológica

O Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro (JBRJ) abre nesta sexta-feira (8), às 10h, um novo espaço cultural, com entrada gratuita para o público e classificação livre. Trata-se do Museu do Jardim Botânico, que funcionará no casarão do início do século 20, com entrada pela Rua Jardim Botânico, 1008, no bairro do mesmo nome, e que recebeu investimento de R$ 12 milhões da Shell para revitalização. O Instituto de Desenvolvimento e Gestão (IDG) será responsável pela gestão do museu, que funcionará de quinta a terça-feira, das 10h às 17h, com a última entrada às 16h. Os ingressos podem ser retirados pelo site Botanical Garden RJ - Tickets. O museu conta com 14 salas no total, sendo 12 expositivas.  O presidente do Jardim Botânico, Sérgio Besserman, disse nesta terça-feira (5) à Agência Brasil que o novo museu mostra a ciência que a instituição faz, “a importância da ciência feita no JB para conservação e restauração da natureza do Brasil, das florestas principalmente, de todos os biomas; e também um pouco da história do Jardim”. Fundado em 13 de junho de 1808, o JB surgiu de decisão do então príncipe regente português, D. João de Bragança, de instalar no local uma fábrica de pólvora e um jardim para aclimatação de espécies vegetais originárias de outras partes do mundo. Atualmente é o Instituto de Pesquisas Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro, órgão federal vinculado ao Ministério do Meio Ambiente e considerado um dos mais importantes centros de pesquisa mundiais nas áreas de botânica e conservação da biodiversidade. Relevância Besserman informou que não se mostrará somente o ferramental tecnológico, mas também a relevância da ciência para enfrentar a crise ecológica e apoiar o combate à crise de biodiversidade no Brasil. “Há uma participação muito intensa dos cientistas do JB. Segundo Besseraman, o novo museu reforça o lema do Jardim Botânico: “Muito mais que um jardim: ciência, ensino e história”. As políticas públicas e ações assertivas desenvolvidas pelo JB para conhecimento e conservação da flora brasileira ao longo de mais de 200 anos de história serão compartilhadas com o público, revelando detalhes das expedições de campo, do trabalho dos botânicos, da pesquisa científica aplicada à conservação da biodiversidade e as atividades dos laboratórios. “Há salas mostrando pesquisas avançadas de biologia molecular para identificar origem e até localização de madeira, o que ajuda a combater o desmatamento ilegal”, acrescentou Besserman. Além das exposições permanentes, o museu terá conteúdos interativos e ampla programação educativa e cultural. Logo na entrada do museu, os visitantes conhecerão uma exposição de longa duração, concebida em colaboração com um comitê de funcionários e pesquisadores do Jardim Botânico, que traz a essência do novo equipamento cultural e científico por meio de mais de dez experiências. Um dos destaques é a obra Sumaúma: Copa, Casa, Cosmos, filme de Estevão Ciavatta, com narração de Regina Casé, que promove uma imersão virtual na sumaúma (Ceiba pentandra), árvore amazônica presente na coleção viva do instituto e carregada de simbolismos. Para muitos povos, a sumaúma é o lar de entidades divinas ou mesmo um portal que leva a diferentes mundos. O trabalho é do ex-presidente do JBRJ João Barbosa Rodrigues e mostra que, enquanto a ciência ocidental dá nome às plantas pelo sistema do naturalista sueco Charles Linneo, os indígenas tupis-guaranis as denominavam por alguma característica apresentada, como planta com mancha amarela, planta com espinho grande, por exemplo. “É sempre alguma coisa relativa à planta. Essa exposição ficará por alguns meses no museu e depois será substituída por outra, também temporária”, informou Besserman. Segundo ele, as exposições permanentes serão atualizadas e modificadas, mas ficarão sempre abertas ao público. Fazem parte ainda do museu uma sala de leitura, com diversos livros e versões digitais de obras raras do acervo da Biblioteca Barbosa Rodrigues do Jardim Botânico, que poderão ser folheados em telas táteis; uma sala multiuso para encontros, palestras e eventos e uma ampla programação educativa e cultural. Na avaliação de Besserman, o novo equipamento é uma iniciativa boa para o Rio de Janeiro, “para valorizar a ciência em geral, assim como o conhecimento dos povos tradicionais, e um novo espaço cultural importante para o país”.
