I've had a malec prompt in my mind for a long time, if you don't have the time for it I understand but you could help me share it with the fandom. A Face Off au with artist Magnus and Alec being the model he always uses and flirts with all the time. Do you like it? I love that show and when I was watching shadowhunters the idea just popped in my mind.

Oh, that is such a sweet idea! Unfortunately, I’m too busy right now and I don’t think I’d be able to make this prompt justice anyway. If anyone else is interested, I’d love to read it, though.

In the meantime, homegirl @baniverse wrote a beautiful oneshot that is similar to this prompt, only Magnus is the model and Alec is a body artist. 10/10 would recommend:

fic you’re most proud of: I’m proud of myself for persisting with iwltwgq, because it isn’t easy. It kind of ran away from me plot-wise at some point, but I pulled it back in and I’m patching it towards its end. It was a wild ride. But the one that I’m really proud of myself for is the Hamilton fics. One was whimsy and one was a promise, and both are hilarious to me. I know, I know, patting myself on the back. But okay.

favorite comment on your writing: 2 kinds of favorite comments: the kind that catch on to the Hamilton references that I sneak into every single Shadowhunters fic that I write, and long ranty comments. But honestly, the best ones are the ones that quote a line from the fic and then proceed to flail about it.

best flame: there was a commenter who would pick apart every chapter plot-wise. Like, continuity really really concerned her. That was the closest I got to a flame, but man, I waited for her comments because they helped me organize the plot in my head.

what surprised you about your writing this year?: the sheer volume. I just stared at the number of words I wrote and I still can’t wrap my head around it.

do you have any writing regrets/things you would do differently? I would world-build a bit more. Especially with iwltwgq. A better built world lends itself to easier writing.

how many WIPs do you have? Do you plan to finish them?: 2 published - iwltwgq, indeed I want to finish it; and the 4 seasons one, closed out the light coming in.

did you write any original fiction this year?: I gave NaNoWriMo a try. Didn’t stick. But in my defense, I started a new job.

what are your writing goals for the new year?: Finish my WIPs, possibly start mapping out some original fiction.

And my own addition: I’ve met some phenomenal people this past year who have done nothing but inspire me, and I have them to thank for encouraging me on my writing path. It’s not just fanfic, it’s creation, and it’s pretty damn liberating to be back on the horse, especially with people who are as passionate about it as I am. <3

fic you’re most proud of: BLST. Because the main topic of the fic was something really close and personal to write and sometimes it felt like too much but I finished it and I’m proud of myself for it. It was very cathartic.

favorite comment on your writing: all of them? Every comment is precious and I value them all equally. (I do love the looong comments with quotes of the fic, tho)

best flame: I used to have a ridiculously high amount of comments, sometimes just plain rude, demanding me to update basically everyday. It got better. I had a comment comparing me to Sebastian once, and that wasn’t very nice. But I’m very calm by nature and not one to keep grudges so I forget about them quite easily.

what surprised you about your writing this year? the fact that I wrote in the first place? I hadn’t written anything in years before I started writing Masters of Wars. To go from nothing to over 610k words in a year, I’m pretty shocked.

do you have any writing regrets/things you would do differently? always, and that’s why I try to never re-read my own works.

how many WIPs do you have? do you plan to finish them? 

I’ve got 3 if you count the BLST extras. I very much plan on finishing them. I’ve never left a fic unfinished, I don’t plan on starting now. EMH is getting seriously close to the end now, and CoM has a few chapters left but it won’t be too long. And I have plenty more ideas for when these two are done.

did you write any original fiction this year? nope. One day, I will.

write some original fiction, line out the plot properly because it’s still a mess in my head
