#mondaymood😎 and you know I love #whiskydistillery history and juice integrity. So when I got these rare #balveniewhisky samples I had to find out more. I called on my local #balvenie genius Senor @nstrach87 for some intel. The 19 Burnhead Wood, Through the winding paths and steep Speyside hills to a glorious moor of heather. This is the story of what would fondly come to be known as The Heather Trials, and how the people behind them helped create the first ever expression of #TheBalvenie made entirely with ingredients grown on its Dufftown estate. TASTING NOTES NOSE Lively and vibrant, this balvenie has notes of fig And geranium oil perfectly balanced with fresh herbal undertones reminiscent of green woodland. TASTE Flavors of honey, cloves and caramelised baked dates are layered on top of delicate citrus and spice. The Sweetness reveals an underlying oaky dryness. FINISH Lingering, oaky, dried blossom. The 19 is a cask sample of that bottling. That bottle will be available here in 2021 and it is their first release of 100% home grown barley The other bottles are all from casks that made up the first #balvenietun1401 batch to be sold in the USA. An interesting way to look at #balveniedistillery in different casks with a bit of age to them.
