What Are Bathroom Signs and Types of Bathroom Signs
Tumblr media
Great bathrooms can make for great workplaces, and bathroom signs play a big part in that. That's why these signs are some of the most important ones you will install.
What Are Bathroom Signs? Signs for bathrooms are ones used to guide people to the toilet, label the bathroom door, and decorate the bathroom. They go by other names, too, including "restroom signs", "washroom signs", and "WC signs".
You can pick up pre-designed ladies’ restroom signs and men’s restroom signs or customize them to suit your business. Many of our customers like to design their own signs, incorporating their brand colors and matching the ambiance of the business.
What Are the Different Types of Bathroom Signs You Can Get?
Think signs for the bathroom, and your mind will immediately go to the men's, women's, and accessible signs (like the ones below).
However, those signs just scratch the surface of what you can do. A great bathroom can make the visitor experience memorable, and there are a lot of signs to choose from.
1. Directional signs
Leading to the bathroom Wayfinding signs like ceiling hanging signs and directional arrows show the way to the nearest bathrooms. If you're wondering where you should install them on your premises, try to think as a first-time visitor. You want to provide an unbroken set of directions that lead to the bathroom, and some good places to install wayfinding signs are in waiting rooms, lobbies, and at the end of corridors.
2. Bathroom signs for doors
These are the men's restroom signs, ladies' restroom signs, and gender-neutral restroom signs installed on the bathroom door. Almost all bathroom signs for doors use a pictogram to depict which bathroom you should use, along with small lettering which says who it’s for. If you decide to customize your signs, make sure they are easy to recognize.
3. ADA-compliant bathroom signs
ADA-compliant bathroom signs are mandatory at most Baltimore businesses that receive visitors at the premises. They must meet the requirements laid down by the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prescribe:
· The size of the signs.
· Where signs should be installed.
· What finish they must have?
· Size of lettering and braille lettering.
To find out where you need to install ADA signs, talk to experienced signage professional.
4. Decorative signs and wall murals
Wall murals and custom signs are great for branding bathrooms subtly and providing visitors with a unique experience. They are a must-have if yours is an experience-based business, such as a restaurant or an arcade. Use signs and murals to color the walls, and add fun touches.
5. Other signs
Ever since the coronavirus pandemic, hand washing reminders and hygiene signs have become commonplace. Another useful sign to have is the yellow hazard signboard that warns of a wet floor.

Bloodborne: A Study of Environmental Narratives and Ludonarrative Harmony.
VII. Conclusion
While this paper only addresses Bloodborne as far as concerns about ludonarrative harmony go, that is far from the extent of the concept’s applications within the field of video game studies going forward. Engaging with games and looking for this blending between the ludic and narrative elements proves fruitful as an exploration of developer intention and whether or not those marks have been missed. Without ludonarrative harmony, players are faced with disjointed and un-immersive experiences in their narrative games. Games that deemphasize narrative are, of course, less concerned about ludonarrative harmony, though the vast majority of things being produced by gaming companies as of this paper’s writing to involve some form of narrative progression.
To summarize, Bloodborne gives its players a sense of harmony between its narrative themes and its gameplay by blending its environmental storytelling, narrative elements, and gameplay into a cohesive whole. This paper looked at how each of these elements worked, moving from the most broad, environmental storytelling, to the most complicated and narrow, ludonarrative harmony. Through an exploration of the narrative expectations of Bloodborne and comparing those with the gameplay, we can see that the game emphasizes its narrative themes throughout the play experience by utilizing elements like health damage, enemies, and item descriptions to effectively blur the line between what is narrative and what is gameplay.

The Importance of Custom Signs in Baltimore, MD
Original Source: https://heritageprintinggraphics.blogspot.com/2024/09/the-importance-of-custom-signs-in.html
In the vibrant city of Baltimore, MD, custom signs play a pivotal role in enhancing the visual communication of various establishments. Whether it’s an association, embassy, marketing company, government agency, university, hotel with a conference center, venue, or museum, the need for clear, impactful, and professional signage is paramount. Custom signs not only convey essential information but also contribute to the overall branding and aesthetics of a space.
Tumblr media
Enhancing Brand Identity
Custom signs in Baltimore, MD, are an essential aspect of establishing a strong brand identity. For organizations looking to create a memorable impression, signage must align with their branding strategies. Unique designs, colors, and materials can significantly influence how a brand is perceived by its audience. For instance, a government agency might opt for a sleek and modern look to reflect transparency and professionalism, while a university may choose vibrant colors and playful fonts to appeal to a younger demographic. Custom signs are an extension of a brand’s identity, showcasing its values and mission to the public.
Improving Navigation and Wayfinding
For larger establishments like hotels with conference centers and museums, custom signs in Baltimore, MD, play a crucial role in navigation and wayfinding. Clear directional signage helps visitors find their way through complex layouts, ensuring a seamless experience. Custom wayfinding signs can incorporate elements such as maps, arrows, and room names, making it easier for guests to locate amenities, meeting rooms, or exhibit spaces. This thoughtful approach to signage design enhances visitor satisfaction, ultimately leading to positive reviews and repeat visits.
Supporting Safety and Compliance
In today’s world, safety and compliance are more important than ever. Custom signs can serve a dual purpose: to convey necessary information while adhering to local regulations. For instance, government agencies and educational institutions often require specific signage to comply with accessibility standards. Custom signs in Baltimore, MD, can be designed to meet these requirements, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their abilities, can navigate the space safely and efficiently. By addressing safety concerns, organizations not only comply with regulations but also demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity.
Versatility in Design and Functionality
The versatility of custom signs is another reason they are highly valued in Baltimore, MD. Whether it’s a sleek lobby sign for a corporate office or an engaging wall display for a museum, the possibilities are endless. Custom signs can be designed for various applications, including wall graphics, dimensional letters, standoff signs, and more. This flexibility allows organizations to creatively express their message while accommodating specific space constraints and aesthetic preferences.
Making a Lasting Impression
First impressions matter, and custom signs in Baltimore, MD, are often the first point of contact between an organization and its audience. An eye-catching sign can attract attention, spark curiosity, and draw people in. For example, a marketing company may opt for bold graphics and innovative designs to showcase its creative prowess. In contrast, a more traditional establishment might choose elegant lettering and classic materials to convey sophistication. Regardless of the approach, the impact of a well-designed custom sign can be profound, making a lasting impression on visitors and clients alike.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the significance of custom signs in Baltimore, MD, cannot be overstated. From enhancing brand identity and improving navigation to supporting safety compliance and making lasting impressions, custom signage serves multiple vital purposes for organizations across various sectors. Whether an establishment is looking to create a welcoming environment, inform visitors, or showcase its unique offerings, custom signs provide the perfect solution. By investing in high-quality, thoughtfully designed signage, organizations can effectively communicate their message and create a memorable experience for all who enter their doors.

If you want to reach and attract more target audiences, your website may use the services of SEO. Austin SEO services have also advanced their services giving an upper hand to the business over the rivals. A company must immediately begin to utilize some modern SEO strategies that align with the business objectives. A well-optimized website will attract more visitors, encourage more conversions, and eventually generate more income. Not only this but Baltimore local SEO clubbing with the new concepts of optimization factors can also increase the business opportunities for small or mid-sized businesses.
Tumblr media
Here are stated some of the SEO strategies that will significantly level up the website. As it is convincing that the business goal is to improve the website's traffic by moving up the SERPs. read ahead to know the new concepts that emerged and impacted the ranking of the website besides the basic factors.
Integrate Long-Tail Keywords
If you aren't currently employing long-tail keywords, now is the time to do so because they are the long game of sophisticated SEO strategies. The majority of search engine searches are made up of long-tail keywords. Although one of these keywords might not result in a high search ranking, the combined effect is intended to have a longer-term, wider impact. To increase the authority in the SERPs, the SEO team focuses on researching and including long-tail keywords in the blog posts.
Enhance The Website With Schema Markup
The SERP ranks could be improved by adding schema markup to the webpage. The core components are a specialty of SEO experts. Several schema solutions are available that might assist you. Schema markup is a type of structured data coding that explains to search engines in a language they can understand the contents, meaning, and intended user experience of your page.
Ensure That The Website Is Mobile-Friendly
Nowadays, a website that responds to mobile devices is essential. Mobile optimization has immediately become an extensive SEO approach. Google prioritizes mobile-optimized websites for indexing when consumers search on mobile devices. This indicates that mobile-friendly content will rank better in search engine results pages (SERPs). Getting the business website mobile-ready has become essential recently with the increasing utilization and preference of smartphones over PCs.
User Behavior And Experience Research
A sophisticated SEO strategy that indirectly works is knowing precisely how the users interact with the business website. After working with SEO tools or keywords that immediately affect the SERPs, it becomes useful for understanding more about user behavior and their experiences on the site can help to optimize it further. When the website functions properly, Austin SEO services assure a lower bounce rate and consumers will stay on it longer—and in some circumstances, long enough to become paying clients.
Update Necessary Posts And Instructions
A good strategy to maintain the relevance of the greatest content is to update the relevant blog entries and how-to guides on an annual basis. SEO professionals also update graphics, add or remove out-of-date information, and even add a few new keywords associated with the subject that is providing more traffic. The post doesn't need to be brand-new. As an alternative, the third party also incorporates more recent stuff while keeping a large portion of the original information. The SEO team also provides assistance to include a remark at the start of your article or change the title to highlight the change.
Look At The Permalinks, Broken Links, Internal Links, And Backlinks
Although we sometimes equate the term "SEO" with "keywords," SEO links can also have an impact on the position in the SERPs. SEO agency examines all of the links, including permalinks and backlinks, in detail. Make sure the website's links are functional and that the backlinks are of good competence.
Tumblr media
Improve Google's Mood
The website receives a lift in Google's rankings thanks to the SEO agency's efforts. Baltimore local SEO work on improving your local SEO and preparing the content for Google Featured Snippets for the same reason. Moreover, optimizing Google My Business listing as well.
To Close:
SEO services have advanced with time. The business needs an advanced approach to gain the advantages of the newly emerged concepts for better business opportunities.

Signs Of Success: How To Spot The Best Custom Sign Companies In Baltimore
Tumblr media
Using Baltimore Signs and Graphics as the gold standard, today’s post lays out 4 important “signs of success” you can use as quality indicators to find the best custom sign companies in Baltimore, MD.
The Best Custom Sign Companies Offer Invaluable Experience
There’s really no better sign of success for a business than experience. But don’t mistake experience for total time-in-business. Some established businesses lack experience in many aspects of sign design and manufacturing because they only work with a limited number of sign types. And even relatively new companies can bring decades of collective experience to the table, so long as they assemble the right team.
When you work with Baltimore Signs and Graphics, your project is guided by over 25 years of sales, design, marketing, and sign expertise that spans all signage types.
What Does A Sign Company Do?
If you’re looking specifically for the best custom sign companies, you want somebody who can do it all. Customization capacity is important to you. That means finding a company with a huge selection of sign styles, along with extensive custom design capabilities.
Often this step is as easy as browsing the custom sign company catalog. If they don’t offer all the products you’re looking for, and they aren’t heavily advertising their high-value customization services, look elsewhere. Of course, it’s often worth calling the company to ask a representative outright. Additionally, many custom sign companies will offer “design consultations” at no charge. Take advantage of these opportunities to gather quotes, explore your customization options, and get a feel for the custom service.
The Best Custom Sign Companies Know Baltimore Zoning Law
Just because the best custom sign companies can make anything you ask for doesn’t mean that they should. That’s because certain sign designs are illegal, and installing them could result in significant fines.
You can find a complete list of banned sign design and installations in the Zoning Code of Baltimore City. At around 507 pages, it’s a lengthy document, so your time is probably better spent finding current experts than trying to do it all yourself.
Of course, not all signs must abide by these zoning laws. Flags, governmental signs, street signs, “No Parking” signs, memorial plaques, and temporary signs in connection with civic non-commercial campaigns are all exempt.
But if you’re ordering something outside of this list of exemptions, it’s imperative that you find custom sign companies with enough knowledge of Baltimore zoning law to keep your sign compliant.
Free Custom Sign Design Quotes In Baltimore, MD
Our fourth tip is to find custom sign companies willing to offer you free quotes and design consultations. As mentioned previously, this allows you to get a strong sense for the company’s customer service and customization capabilities. Free quotes also show that the company is transparent and fairly priced, which are two things every client wants to see.
Baltimore Signs and Graphics proudly serves clients across Baltimore, White Marsh, and the surrounding areas. Call 410-877-6011 or fill out the contact form on our website to speak with a custom sign expert and get a 100% free quote.

Enhancing Customer Experience with Lobby Signs
Tumblr media
What impression does your lobby have on your employees, customers, or business partners? When they open the door or step off an elevator, do they see four walls and some plants? If so, is that the image you want people to have of your company? Placing a sign in your office lobby not only sets your business apart but also communicates who you are.
Office lobby signscan inform visitors. They can provide directions or highlight policies. A paper sign with an arrow taped to a wall looks unprofessional. Cardboard signs, while less flimsy, convey a "whatever" attitude towards visitors. No business wants to transmit an image that minimizes a customer's experience.
Custom Lobby Signs
Custom interior signsare an excellent way to communicate with customers. They can communicate needed information in a clear and thoughtful manner. Interior signs with a company name or logo can reflect the corporate culture. At Baltimore Signsmiths, our signage options range from acrylic signs to wall murals. If a sign needs illumination, backlighting is an excellent way to draw attention while providing an inviting glow.
Acrylic Lobby Signs
The versatility ofacrylic signsmakes them an excellent choice to convey a brand or a message. Clear acrylic provides a shatter-free glass-like appearance. By frosting the sign, companies can reduce glare and increase privacy. Graphics or lettering can be printed on the front or back of an acrylic sign. Surface printing on the front of the sign gives an acrylic sign a matte finish, while subsurface delivers a glossy finish as the design is mirror-printed on the back of the acrylic. Customers will appreciate the clear communications of a custom acrylic sign.
Metal Lobby Signs
Metal signs give a more industrial feel to a lobby. Metal options range from lightweight aluminum to heavy-duty yet moldable, Dibond.
Aluminum signs. Aluminum is an inexpensive solution for a metal sign that is lightweight and versatile. An aluminum office lobby sign delivers a custom feel to any sign. Because of aluminum's flexibility, these interior signs can make a statement in any lobby.
Dibond signs. Dibond is a heavy-duty material that can be custom-cut to match a brand or make a statement. The metal can be molded into 3D structures with laser-cut or engraved lettering. These signs communicate a sense of creativity to customers.
Alumalite signs. These signs use heavy-duty metal letters for business names, directional signs, or messaging.
Stainless steel signs. Stainless steel is timeless with its clean, sleek surfaces. With a protective coating, the life of a stainless steel sign can be extended
Metal signs can be brushed or polished to create the perfect image for a corporate lobby.
Dimensional Letters
Lettering provides a simple but powerful statement in custom lobby signs. Three-dimensional letters are cut from acrylic sheets to provide a striking image, especially if backlighting is used. Metal and wood letters can also be 3D. Wood letters provide a warm and welcoming feel to any interior, while metal can establish a modern, industrial feel to a lobby. High-density-urethane (HDU) foam can mimic wood while providing the flexibility of custom shapes. Given the range of materials, no two business signs should look the same.
Decals and Vinyl Alternatives
Wall cutouts and decals can be used to create lobby signage. Murals can be designed to integrate company names and logos for an inclusive feel. Block-cut vinyl comes in an array of finishes and textures for adding dimension to a lobby wall. These vinyl adhesives can add a little whimsy to an office lobby, making visitors feel a little more at home.
Baltimore Signsmiths
Lobby signs set the tone for customer experiences. Whether it is an industrial or innovative atmosphere, our team of experts works with you to find the best solution. We have the materials and methods to turn your vision into reality. Why not contact us today?

Hi all! I just wanted to share some of my all-time favorite fanfics for aftg, for no real reason other than I want more people to read them and send their love to the authors :)
Under a readmore because it got. A little long. But please enjoy!
WIPs
Dangerous Habits by LovelyLittleGrim ( @lovelylittlegrim )
Andrew has run into problems while on undercover jobs before. None of those problems were anything like the troublesome runaway that is one Nathaniel Wesninski
Aka: the fic where Andrew is undercover as a hitman for hire and Neil is the guy who hires him. Things get complicated from there.
Undercover Andrew? BAMF Neil? Hitman AU?? Absolutely. I’m in love. The story is just *chef kisses*
Chapters: 8/9
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Graphic depictions of violence, past rape/non-con, Drake Spear (who is his own warning), Butcher Neil,
--
Negotiations by elesary ( @elesary )
This is what Andrew Minyard knows: his brother is dead, killed by a petty Raven prince who has never learned to keep his hands off of Andrew's things. His brother's daughters are his responsibility, a job that is made infinitely harder when their shitty grandparents want custody. Nathaniel Wesninski is a liar, but he might be the only way to avenge Aaron and protect his nieces. All Andrew has to do is watch Nathaniels - Neil's- back as he carves out his own life and identity from everyone who thinks they own him.
Andrew has always been good at upholding his end of the bargain, has he finally found someone willing to uphold theirs?
This fic has got me fucked up, honestly. I’m emotional over it. It’s fantastic.
Chapters: 11/?
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Graphic depictions of violence, attempted sexual assault, Butcher Neil,

the upper hand by plantelty ( @plantelty  )
Shortly after losing his mother, Neil arrives in the small town of Palmetto, South Carolina, alone in the world and with an impossible plan to carry through.
At the age of eighteen, Andrew ends up helping a boy stage his own death.
-
Just two fucked up boys learning to trust each other during the course of a summer, but also: multiple references to songs, twinyard angst (Nicky tries his best), The Plotting of Neil Josten's Gruesome Demise, and shit hitting the fan in a variety of ugly ways!
The cliffhanger has got me on the edge of my seat, but it is 100% worth the read and the wait for the last chapter!!
Chapters: 10/11
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Canon typical violence,
--
The Butcher’s House by Fire_Bear ( @fire-bear )
Andrew thought something was odd with the house the Foxes had to move into after their Athletes' House had been burnt down. He just wasn't prepared for what was actually wrong with it.
For this was a house full of monsters.
Ghost story! Ghost story! Ghost story! I literally think about this fic every other day, it’s fantastic.
Chapters: 6/?
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Warnings: character death (major or minor is unclear), injuries,
--
Promise of an Unbroken Boy by elesary ( @elesary )
Neil is caught by the police with Mary's burning body and is sent to juvie in Oakland where he is assigned to share a cell with one Andrew Doe, who promises him Exy, if only Neil will tell him all of his secrets. With no access to tinted contacts and hair dye, he agrees, it's only a matter of time until he's killed after all. What does he have to lose?
But Andrew's found someone who knows what a promise means, and he'll be damned if he lets that go without a fight.
Ngl this is definitely in my very top favorites -- I LOVE the idea of Neil and Andrew meeting pre-series, and this fic just BLEW my expectations for that plotline out of the waters
Chapters: 14/?
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Graphic depictions of violence, Underage, attempted rape/non-con, canon-typical violence,

The Nameless Monster by kanekicure ( @kanekicure )
Nathaniel Wesninski wants nothing more than to see his father dead and buried. But when his father promises him the title of The Butcher, Nathaniel quickly realizes that his destiny of following in his father's footsteps is closer than ever before.
So of course, when he gets forced to go undercover for the Baltimore police, he starts seeing what living could truly be.
-
Andrew Minyard is a newly recruited police officer for the worst precinct in Baltimore, who is dedicated on hunting down the notorious Butcher and his unnamed underling. But when Neil Josten is thrown into his midst as his civilian consultant; he starts to realize some things don't quite appear as they seem.
I love the story telling -- the secret identities, the plotting, everything.
Chapters: 14/14
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Graphic depictions of violence, Butcher Neil, implied/referenced rape/non-con, implied/referenced child abuse, implied/referenced slef-harm (I believe there is a scene that is somewhat detailed on this subject), some characters also get drugged at one point,

that’s just something people say by nanatsuyu ( @theoctopusnods )
Neil makes the mistake of stealing the wrong car. Andrew makes the mistake of offering a ride to a liar. They both make the mistake of turning the whole affair into a road trip ‘home.’
Gonna be honest; the summary does not give a big idea as to what is in store and i am SO GLAD I gave this one a try so i’m telling you that you will be too
Chapters: 24/24
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Warnings: implied/referenced child abuse, panic attacks (somewhat grahic descriptions of)

The Story After You by kanekicure ( @kanekicure )
Andrew Minyard does not understand how Riko Moriyama landed Neil Wesninski.
How the snot-nosed, small dick, rich brat, second son of the Moriyama family who also just so happened to own the largest EXY gear and merchandiser company in the world “RAVEN” - had landed smart mouthed, quick witted, stupidly blue eyed Wesninski, was beyond him. Well, unless Wesninski was a gold digger, but Andrew doubted it.
-
Or; how Andrew Minyard says he doesn't get into messy situations, until he meets Neil and suddenly he is in the most messiest possible situation ever imagined in his life - oh and also, he might be becoming a homewrecker.
Ok I am behind bc I haven’t read the final chapter of this but!! I love the story, it’s very emotional and moving, and I love the characterization in it.
Chapters: 10/10
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Abusive Riko/Neil, abusive relationship, implied/referenced rape/non-con, implied/reference child abuse, implied/referenced self-harm, graphic depictions of violence, some descriptions of injuries/scarring,

This Complicated Life by 5a5b5p5 ( @andrewsbutterflyknife )
“This is exactly why I don’t want you and Andrew to meet,” Aaron says grumpily. “You two would get along far too well.”
Neil grins. “I just like pissing you off,” he says, “It’s not my fault your brother does such a good job at it.”
Neil doesn’t expect much from his Sophomore year of college, but when he becomes a waiter at the Palmetto Bistro, his life gets a whole lot more interesting. As it turns out, maintaining friendships new and old as well as navigating an interesting relationship with the head chef of the restaurant—who just so happens to be his best friend’s twin brother—is a lot more complicated than he’d thought it would be.
A much more light-hearted fic than most of the others! Includes a secret relationship, and also chef Andrew >>

When I Fade, Keep Me in Your Memory by demesh
Neil Josten has a secret: he can flicker out of existence.
He can vanish with the turn of a thought; click his fingers, and suddenly he’s not there anymore. Invisible and untouchable, he becomes a living ghost.
Having promised his mother never to let his ability go, Neil teeters the line between faded and real, a person and an echo. He can’t risk getting hurt.
But then, one day, someone sees him when they shouldn’t be able to.
A (flower-shop) AU about how a faded and lonely Neil finds it in him to become someone real.
Another fic that I need to catch up on ;; but anyway it’s amazing and I love Neil’s ability in it, it’s so well explained and well-written about
Chapters: 12/12
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Warnings: mentions of past abuse, panic attacks

12 Ways to Woo a Minyard by NikNak22 ( @knickknacksandallthat )
Neil is a math nerd who, by a stroke of dumb luck, falls into a group of friends that are the closest thing to family he’s ever had. So, when he tells them about his new mysterious crush, he shouldn’t be surprised how immediately they come up with a plan to help win them over. One they insist that if Neil follows it, he’ll have them falling for him in no time. But things don’t always go to plan – or do they?
Nicky wants to set him up with someone else. Matt and Jeremy are confused but supportive. Allison and Seth offer lewd suggestions, while Dan does her best to keep everyone in line. Jean and Renee know something, Aaron doesn’t really care, and Kevin just wants Neil to join the lacrosse team.
But one thing’s for certain – whether Neil’s successful or not, everyone’s got money riding on this.
The romance-trope-filled fanfic of my dreams. Sometimes you just need a fic of pure joy -- this is that fic.

finders keepers by moonix ( @annawrites )
Andrew meets Nathaniel through a scavenger hunt app. As their team takes part in a hunt that sends each of them to creepy, abandoned places alone to solve clues and gain points, Andrew and Nathaniel begin a little treasure hunt of their own. The anonymity of getting to know each other in small increments, never meeting face-to-face, allows them a level of intimacy neither are used to. Meanwhile Renee’s friend Neil is acting weird whenever Andrew shows up…
This was one of the first fics I read for aftg!! And BOY what a great start!! All of the little pieces and parts that work together, and just the scavenger hunt itself is fantastic! (I also REALLY wanna know if there is an app like this out there because I would be down to do that)
Chapters: 8/8
Rating: Mature
Warnings: (these all come from the author:) “mentions of historical abuse in a mental asylum, mentions of suicide, mentions of murder and kidnapping, morbid facts, creepy abandoned places including a haunted house at a theme park with disturbing rooms, special appearance of a creepy clown doll, fatphobia and some introspection on body image/complicated relationship with food, mention of self harm scars”

Scared to Live (But I’m Scared to Die) by Major_816 ( @major816 )
Neil Josten goes to the Nest for Andrew, but he stays for a lot more.
~
"I'm sorry Coach," he muttered.
"For what kid?" Wymack shifted. "You've got to give me something to work with here."
Wymack watched the thin traces of sorrow as paper exchanged hands and he was looking down at a contract with the Edgar Allan Raven's.
"I signed them Coach, I'm sorry."
~
The one where Neil doesn't come back from Winter Break.
It is VERY dark, and is one of very few fics that I have actually been almost unable to read one of the scenes, so DEFINITELY pay attention to the warnings -- both these, and the ones provided for each individual chapter. I did go through the fic to collect as many warnings as I could find in the chapter warnings, but be sure to take care of yourself.
Chapters: 36/36
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: rape/non-con elements, implied/referenced rape/non-con, discussions of rape/non-con, canon-typical violence, graphic descritions, physical abuse, panic attacks, descriptions of injuries (often graphic), psychological warfare, dissociating, psychological torture, physical torture, use of knives, alcoholism/alcohol abuse, pain-induced delirium, rape/non-con, emotional self-separation, suicidal ideation/thoughts of suicide, emotional distress (which sums up the whole fic and also me while reading it), handcuffs/chains used as restraints, referenced/implied abuse towards animals, vomitting, begging, excessive use of painkillers, drowning, waterboarding, physical restraint, mutilation of an animal, mild hallucinations, non-con drugging, sleep deprivation, starvation, humiliation, the Butcher,
Also one of the first fics I read and 100% my absolute favorite fic!!! Which is adfjhsd a little worrying, considering, but it is what it is. Anyway. This fic absolutely wrecked me, and while it is technically complete, there is a sequel in the works! So! But I am so so excited for the sequel, and I am working on rereading this. It’s amazing. 1000/10.

trial (objection p.2)
i love htgawm connor is such a problem child
*
“So your father was already incapacitated when you murdered him,” Andrew deduced, leaning back in his chair. He spun the land-line’s coiled cord around his finger, looking over the ceiling sconces of his office. The place was definitely built at least half a century ago, and the remnants of its previous occupations were everywhere, from the covered-up fireman pole holes to the sound-proofed insulation.
“When I killed him out of self-defence, yes,” Neil returned. His portion of the conversation would always be under surveillance.
“Way to make my job harder, Wesninski.”
“What good would I be, otherwise?” he retorted. “Also, please don’t call me that. I’m figuring out a new last name. How does Neil Smith sound?”
“Dreadfully boring,” Andrew said. “Don’t say that word. I don’t like it.”
“Which one, exactly?”
Andrew grit his teeth. “Please.” It still sent shudders down his spine. “There’s no time for pleasantries.”
“Fine,” the man said. “Is that all you wanted to waste my time on? The position my father was found in, when I - when he died?”
“Considering that there are extremely graphic photos of his predicament for the jury to gawk at, yes. How is it self-defence if there’s no threat?”
“He wasn’t cuffed there: I was. The DNA evidence was tampered with to remove traces of the skin tissue that the cuffs had scraped away. Have you even looked at those photos? His wrists are clearly free. I thought you were talking about the eyes.”
“What about them?” Andrew hedged.
“They’re gouged out,” Neil muttered. “I hate that our eyes are - were - the same.”
“You did that whilst the two of you were fighting,” Andrew suggested. “Unless its clear you did it with a knife?”
“All I had was his cleaver,” Neil said. “I used the handle. That’d look like fingers, right?”
“Right,” Andrew agreed, just as Wymack appeared at his doorway.
“Could you keep the gruesome mutilation discussions off the worklines?” the old man demanded. “Matt just threw up into Dan’s paper-shredder.”
“I’ll have to call you back,” Andrew said, vastly unimpressed.
“I was going to say,” Neil said, sounding vaguely amused. “You have quite a stomach. Till next time, Andrew.”
“Bye, Neil.”
Wymack had his arms crossed when Andrew threw the phone back onto the receiver, his glower shrouded and unknowable.
Andrew gave it right back to him, refusing to stand as he mirrored Wymack’s stance. “What?”
“First you viciously reject the case,” he said. “Then you drive to see him. Now you’re calling him every day?”
“He’s in prison,” Andrew said. “I can’t just invite him over to interview him and gather evidence.”
“There is no valid reason for you to buddy up to Wesninski like this,” Wymack objected. “You barely speak to your clients unless they’re escapin’ juvie.”
“You’re asking no questions, so I’ll give no answers,” Andrew responded cheerfully. “Have a nice day, boss.”
Wymack pointed at him. “No murder talk on the worklines. Three strikes and you’re out, Andrew.”
Andrew swivelled back around in his chair, knowing true and well Wymack had warned him about upwards of 72 different infringements of people’s delicate psyche. He had a job to do: if someone got in his way, he wasn’t going to be nice about it.
Not for the first time, he wondered if Neil had a contraband mobile phone. It’d make his life a hell of a lot easier. For about twenty minutes he scrolled aimlessly through emails from desperate idiots convicted of white-collar crime, simultaneously considering how he might get a mobile phone to Neil next time he visited. He could go on the weekend, after Nicky’s godforsaken family night.
Oh, shit, Andrew thought, when he noticed he’d lost an hour of his day making plans to see Neil again.
Maybe Wymack was on to something.
*
“You do seem awfully invested,” Betsy suggested, leaning on the porch railing as Andrew smoked through a second cigarette. She’d come along to Nicky’s Friday night fiasco at his request, seeing as Aaron had Katelyn and Nicky had Erik. It seemed a little ridiculous to being his old therapist, who was much more of a mother than a therapist, but Andrew’d wanted to talk to her anyway and their schedules clashed too much to meet up for lunch.
“His case is simple,” Andrew objected, glaring at an owl that’d settled on the gangly tree in Nicky’s front yard. “He’s got physical evidence of his father’s cruelty, even though it’s been a decade. I’ve uncovered the DNA evidence tampering. Neil clearly acted out of self-defence. It’s open and shut, but no one’s going to want Wesninski’s child out on the streets.”
“Jury?” Betsy inquired.
“Jury,” Andrew confirmed sullenly. He fucking hated jury catering. When a case was on thin ice, it was up to selecting the perfectly biased (or prejudiced) people that’d think with their heart, not their head. Andrew was an excellent judge of character, but emotional evaluations were taxing and laborious.
“You’ll do great,” Betsy promised, smiling her all-knowing smile. “You always do.”
Andrew hummed gently, taking one final drag of his cigarette. Before he could chuck the butt into Nicky’s shrubbery, Betsy pinched it between her fingers and dropped it onto an ashtray atop a rickety windowsill.
“It’s an interesting story,” Betsy continued. “There’s every reason to be intrigued by it.”
Andrew just grunted.
“Though,” she remarked. “I figured that case between the young girls was even more perplexing and intricate, but you seem rather enamoured.”
“Shut up,” he mumbled.
“I’m sure I don’t have to remind you about professionalism,” she said airily.
“No,” he agreed. “You don’t.”
But - damn it all to hell - Neil was interesting. He was only a year younger than Andrew was, intelligent without seeming overbearing or arrogant, confident but reserved, a man of constraint taught by hardship but also a man of growth and reflection. Andrew was rambling and he knew it. Neil Wesninski was attractive, intriguing and completely out of Andrew’s reach. Even if he were just your average guy walking down the street, he wouldn’t look at Andrew twice.
Andrew was fine with that. He didn’t need someone chasing after him, just like he didn’t need emotional intimacy or empathy or gentleness. It was like those nerve-endings had been scoured till they were numb and useless. The pathways were still there, but they echoed a nothingness that he’d never really figured out.
Whatever. Whatever. Neil was just a challenging and well-paying case. That’s all he’d ever be.
He was getting existential and over-contemplative. Betsy knew this and smiled, letting him take her by the elbow inside for a cup of cocoa. It was late when the other four finished their game of Monopoly and Nicky finally permitted everyone to leave. Betsy let Andrew walk her to her car again, warmth crinkling her eyes.
“If you’re seeing your Neil tomorrow,” she said, with a wink. “Tell me all the juicy details.”
“You’re a leech,” Andrew declared, pushing her car-door shut. She waved out the scrolled-down window as she careened off, leaving Andrew to his quiet but volatile thoughts.
Your Neil, she’d said.
Now wasn’t that a confronting idea.
*
“Suppose you are a danger to society,” Andrew drawled. They were sat opposite one another at another metal table, handcuffs dangling off one of Neil’s wrists, his blunt key being fiddled with in the other hand. “Suppose you are just as marvellously unhinged as dear old Dad. What then?”
“Why bother entertaining the possibilities?” Neil cocked an eyebrow. “We both know I’m fine.”
“You are the furthest thing from ‘fine’,” Andrew retorted.
“You’re no paragon of mental health yourself,” Neil laughed, and Andrew wondered how the fuck he’d got himself here.
Two months ago he’d met Neil for the first time. In two weeks his trial would begin, in his lovely hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. It’d be less of a drive for Andrew, so he didn’t mind.
In two months, Andrew had found himself hanging onto every conversation. At first he clung on with apprehension. A wariness born out of unfamiliarity: he’d never been in the realm of wanting to associate with someone. Wanting someone’s company, their thoughts and opinions, their attention. It was ridiculous. Neil was a convicted murderer in a max-security prison.
Then again, Andrew was the one who knew that Neil was undeserving of that title best. At most it was manslaughter. In reality it was a blessing. Ridding the world of the Butcher, a renowned and horrifically twisted serial killer, was a service to the public rather than a hindrance.
And so Andrew had found himself in a strange position, between professionalism and exceptionalism. He almost couldn’t help it. He wanted to know what happened behind those ocean blues.
“Someone’s been bored again,” Andrew accused, lighting a cigarette. That was illegal but he didn’t give a fuck. Neil gazed at where it rested between his lips, conflicted.
He shrugged, caught out. “You’re an interesting person. Would it scare you to know we’re similar in more ways than one?”
Andrew let a small smirk twitch around his smoke. “You should be more scared than I should be.”
“Maybe I’ll go to law school when I’m out,” Neil leered, grinning. “Beat you at your own game.”
“You can try,” Andrew said. “You’ll lose.”
Neil hummed. His shackles jingled as he reached over the table for Andrew’s cigarette, his fingertips brushing over Andrew’s lips as he snatched it away. For a moment he watched the cherry’s glow, before letting it rest at the corner of his mouth.
Unimpressed, and also oddly flushed, Andrew glared.
“That sounds like a challenge,” Neil said, returning to the conversation like he hadn’t just stolen the cigarette out of Andrew’s mouth. Like Andrew hadn’t just let him. “If you get me out of this hell hole, I’ll prove you wrong.”
“And if you don’t?”
Neil grinned. “Then you lose anyway. Don’t worry: I won’t cry.”
“Good,” Andrew muttered, leaning back in his chair with his arms folded over his chest.
Neil filled the rest of their valuable time with inane chatter about the more twisted happenings within a male max prison: Andrew had heard of similar stories and worse, but seeing as Neil instigated most of the fights, he still found it rather entertaining to be told.
Before he knew it, their time was up. He stood, plucking the butt out from between Neil’s lips.
“Till next time,” Neil said, a forlorn look at the cigarette between Andrew’s fingers.
“I’ll text you about trial prep,” Andrew said, pointing at him. “Read it.”
Neil sighed. “Not like it’ll help me in any way. But fine. I’ll waste my limited credit and battery on the shitty flipper for court etiquet.”
“You’d better, you ungrateful shit. I got you that phone.”
Neil just winked and blew him a kiss. At Andrew’s scowl, he laughed.
The laugh haunted - no, teased - Andrew all the way out of the stupid prison complex, across the car park, even as he blasted music on the way home.
*
Andrew took one look at the woman who squirmed in her chair, leaning anxiously away from the middle-aged man next to her. It was instinctive and ingrained in her behaviours. An abusive father, then. Or, perhaps an abusive husband, if the twisting of her wedding ring was anything to go by.
“Accept,” Andrew declared.
“Do you have any qualms about gang violence?” the prosecution asked a balding man, lounging in his chair.
“It’s a toxic function of our society,” he answered.
The lawyer looked to the judge and smiled. “Accept, your honour.”
Fucking hell, Andrew thought. He glanced back over to the table, where Neil was cuffed to the iron loop. He didn’t smile, but simply tipped up his chin. An acknowledgement. Confidence in, well. Andrew.
Something in Andrew’s stomach settled. He turned back to the man that the prosecution had accepted. “So you have heard of the Wesninski case?”
“It was ten years ago,” he objected.
“What did you think of it?”
“It was well resolved,” he said.
“So you still garner some form of opinion against Wesninski?” Andrew eyed the Christian Society badge pinned to the strap of his messenger bag. “Surely your god would have some qualms with your inability to forgive,”
“Mr Minyard,” the judge insisted. “That’s enough.”
It didn’t matter. The man was already spitting mad, going bright-red in the face. He pointed at Neil and hissed“He’s a monster, just like his father. God should’ve had him killed!”
“Denied,” Andrew drawled. The man shuffled out of the jury box, frothing mad.
By the end of the selection process, Andrew was sure that at least half of those sitting in the box would think emotionally rather than pragmatically. He settled back at his desk, ignoring the prosecution lawyer’s filthy glares, and tapped his fingers on Neil’s file.
“I didn’t miss this,” Neil muttered, picking at the skin of his cuticles.
From Andrew’s pocket he drew out Neil’s favourite key, of which he’d swiped after they’d searched Neil from head to toe. The man looked at him with undeserved awe, taking the blunt key and spinning it between his fingers.
“Thank you,” he said.
“Shut up,” Andrew retorted.
The court was called to stand: Neil’s hearing had begun.
*
FUCKs sake i was gonna try do this in three parts but the trial will be a whole part and the post trial too..... dammit lol
next we find out: what does the prosecution have up their sleeve? how will neil’s testimony go? what chaos will andrew cause in the courtroom? whose key does neil continually trace?? will neil be inevitably driven to distraction by andrew’s dope-ass suit?

Why Not Spend Your Lock-Down with Dr. Hannibal Lecter?
By Shannon L. Christie
You are cordially invited to spend your lock-down, dining in the company of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Menu
Reception
Dr. Hannibal Lecter is one of thee most iconic fictional literary villains, created in the 20th Century; Hollywood films has cemented his iconic status and his transformation into the 21st Century, via network television, has been carefully crafted under the watchful eye of executive producer, Martha De Laurentiis.
Hannibal Lecter sprang from the mind of novelist Thomas Harris; Lecter has been in our lives for almost 40 years; introduced with the publication of Red Dragon in October 1981; he has never left our consciousness for too long.
So where does one start?
Do you read the 4 novels, watch the 5 movies or the TV Series?
Do I start at the beginning with Harris's novel, Red Dragon?
There are several ways to feast upon Hannibal Lecter: read Harris' novels first: watch the movies and then dine on the TV Series; read the novels, watch the corresponding movies and then the TV Series; watch the TV Series and then go back, watch the movies and read the novels. Whatever way you decide, you will not be disappointed at the end of your feast!
The following menu outline would be my suggestion for how to feast upon the sumptuous offerings of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Amuse-bouche
In this course we are served small bit-sized morsels of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Red Dragon: Thomas Harris, 1981
Will Graham, a former FBI Special Agent with an instinct for profiling, is sucked back into consulting for the FBI on their latest serial murder case; involving the Tooth Fairy. Will's been living a quiet life in Florida with his wife and son, when his former boss, Jack Crawford visits, enticing Graham back into the game. In order to get that old scent back; Graham needs to get into the mindset of a killer, so he visits Dr. Hannibal Lecter at The Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane, where Lecter is serving 9 consecutive life terms for murder. Graham was the FBI Agent who finally caught Hannibal and it almost cost him his life and sanity.
Interesting Fact: Harris attended portions of Ted Bundy's trial for the Chi Omega Murders in Florida. The Prosecutors in the Bundy trial used bite marks left on one of his victims as evidence. Dolarhyde left bite marks on Mrs. Leeds, which allowed forensics to create dental impressions, creating a sample of Dolarhyde's teeth.
Manhunter: Directed by Michael Mann, 1986
Manhunter was written and directed by Michael Mann; starring William Petersen (Will Graham), Dennis Farina (Jack Crawford), Tom Noonan (Francis Dollarhyde, film spelling/Red Dragon/Tooth Fairy), Joan Allen (Reba McClane) Brian Cox (Hannibal Lecktor, film spelling).
Manhunter is now considered a cult classic; at the time of it's original release it fared poorly at the box office and met with mixed reviews. It's cult status may be partially due to the continuing saga of Hannibal Lecter and William Petersen's success in CSI. The film touches on many of the important elements of the novel and also misses on quite a few. What is Dolarhyde's motive? The movie is dated with a definite 80's Michael Mann vibe; in spite of that it is definitely worth a watch for Noonan's performance.
Interesting Fact: Film Producer Dino De Laurentiis purchased the movie rights to the novel Red Dragon in 1983.
Red Dragon: Directed by Brett Ratner, 2002
This is where I'll skip ahead and talk about Manhunter's remake, Red Dragon. You can either choose to watch Red Dragon here or move it to after Hannibal to watch in order of release – entirely up to you.
Dino De Laurentiis passed on the movie rights to The Silence of the Lamb, due to the poor showing of Manhunter at the box office. So when The Silence of the Lambs was critically acclaimed by the critics; a huge box office success; winning the top 5 categories at the 1992 Oscars; Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay – Dino wanted another serving of Hannibal Lecter.
When Harris released his third Lecter novel, simply titled Hannibal, Dino De Laurentiis picked up the rights and saw this as an opportunity to remake Manhunter, this time using the book title, Red Dragon, especially considering the success of Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter. In fact, Red Dragon was released in theatres a year after Hannibal.
Lecter's role was beefed up with a few added scenes; Lecter enjoying the symphony with the exception of the violinist; experiencing one of Lecter's sinfully delicious dinner parties of the music council with the violinist as the main course; seeing the tete-a-tete played out between Lecter and Graham (Edward Norton) that nearly cost them both their lives.
Dolarhyde's (Ralph Fiennes) abusive childhood is explored, the motivation for his heinous crimes against families. We see more of the relationship between Dolarhyde and Reba (Emily Watson) and Dolarhyde's struggle to keep the monster at bay. Ted Tally wrote the screenplay (he wrote The Silence of the Lambs screenplay and passed on the Hannibal screenplay); he has a great sense of what is essential to the narration of a well conceived movie, without loosing too much of the original story told by Thomas Harris.
I am partial to Red Dragon over Manhunter for that reason; I love Ralph Feinnes portrayal of Dolarhyde; he's creepy without being overtly creepy like Noonan is in Manhunter. Anthony Hopkins plays Hannibal Lecter beautifully as he always does. There are a few flaws in this version though, namely Edward Norton's portrayal of Will Graham. I love Norton – I just think he was wrong for the part and the bleached blonde hair drove me mad. I also have issue with Harvey Keitel as Jack Crawford, I just didn't get an FBI Special Agent in charge of the Behavioral Science Unit vibe from him. Keitel is the guy you bring in to rough up your suspect. On the plus side, the crime scenes are more graphic than in Manhunter, which I feel is essential to understanding the severity of the need to capture this fiend, because now he has a taste for it and he will not stop!
Interesting Fact: Dino De Laurentiis had to make a deal with MGM, so the shot of The Baltimore State Hospital building used in The Silence of the Lambs, could be used in Red Dragon, as the building had been demolished.
Dinner
Appetizer
In this course we are treated to petite, rich tasty morsels of Hannibal Lecter,
both of the hot and cold variety.
The Silence of the Lambs: Thomas Harris, 1988
The follow up novel to Red Dragon, Harris' third novel, Lecter was not a character Harris intended to use; he just showed up one day as Harris wrote. The Silence of the Lambs was the story of a young female FBI agent in training; female agents were a relatively new concept at Quantico. J. Edgar Hoover had died in 1972 and the FBI slowly started to drag itself into the modern age and out of the Mafia/Prohibition dark ages that it was founded on. Harris' story of Clarice Starling was an exploration of an agent in training along with a manhunt, headed by Jack Crawford, for a serial killer, only known as “Buffalo Bill”; who abducted girls, held them hostage for a few days; shot them in the heads, dumped their bodies in rivers; having partially skinned them post mortem. The FBI is stumped, they have no motive, no pattern and no connections between the victims. What should they do? Crawford sends Clarice Starling, an agent in training to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
The Silence of the Lambs: Directed by Jonathan Demme, 1991
As I previously mentioned, Dino de Laurentiis passed on acquiring the movie rights for The Silence of the Lambs; the rights ended up in the hands of Demme and Orion Films, without a fee paid to De Laurentiis. The screenplay was written by Ted Tally, who managed to highlight all the important aspects of the novel, creating a balanced story. The movie starred Jodie Foster (Clarice Starling), Glenn Scott (Jack Crawford), Anthony Heald (Dr, Frederick Chilton), Ted Levine (Jame Gumb/Buffalo Bill) and Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal Lecter),
Interesting Fact: Anthony Hopkins on screen performance of Hannibal Lecter, consisting of only sixteen minutes earned him an Oscar for Best Actor in 1992.
Entree
This course is a hearty and meaty dish of Hannibal Lecter, served with delicate red sauce.
Hannibal: Thomas Harris, 1999
Would Harris write another Lecter novel? As we eagerly waited to see – making us wait 10 long years, Harris' reward was Hannibal; a story centred around Dr. Hannibal Lecter. I think many people weren't prepared for the monster to be uncaged. It was bloodier and gorier than the previous two films and quite sadistic. Manhunter and The Silence of the Lambs were considered psychological thrillers with a dollop of horror. Hannibal was a full on horror novel with a dollop of psychological thriller. Dr. Hannibal Lecter was free of his cage, just in-time for the new millennium and some readers were not happy.
When the novel, Hannibal, was released, many critics and readers were appalled by the goriness of it (we are talking about a man who kills people and eats them). I guess once the layers of the onion were peeled away; culture, music, art, culinary skills, courteousness – they were horrified by the monster at the centre – that was the point. Serial killers show society a veneer of acceptable personality traits; they keep the monster hidden away, until he breaks through and comes out to play. In that sense, the novel Hannibal, is spot on. He's your neighbour, your friend, your husband, your father, your brother and sometimes your son (The majority of serial killers are male, sorry guys). He wears a symbolic mask in public, to prevent you from guessing how sick and perverted he truly is.
Harris' novel, Hannibal, was the perfect GOTCHA moment! Harris had led us into a false sense of security; either intentionally or unintentionally, with Lecter's intro in Red Dragon; sure he tells Francis Dolarhyde to kill Graham's family – In The Silence of the Lamb; Lecter is so helpful trying to advance Clarice Starling's career; sure he kills several people while escaping from custody; we'll just chalk that up to acceptable carnage.
We start to rationalize that Lecter can't be all bad; he must have some redeeming qualities: he's a man of sophisticated tastes; he's knowledgeable; an incredible chef; a great musician and artist. We don't even mind knowing that he dined on Dr. Chilton, upon his escape; possibly thinking Chilton had it coming.
Harris let us peek briefly behind the curtain in Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs and perhaps Harris was dismayed to learn that upon the popularity of Hopkins portrayal of Hannibal Lecter; he'd become a pop culture icon and somewhat of a hero. Hannibal shattered that illusion.
We find Clarice Starling, 10 years later, working as an FBI Special Agent, in a stagnate career. She can't advance; being blocked by Paul Krendler.
Hannibal has been living in Florence as the curator of the Palazzo Capponi as Dr. Norman Fell (the real Dr. Fell disappeared under mysterious circumstances). Florence, Italy, the ideal spot for Lecter, a true Renaissance man. We discover there has been a string of murders by the fiend, know as Il Mostro.
Meanwhile, Mason Verger, Lecter's 4th victim, is on the hunt for Dr. Lecter, who left Mason disfigured, although technically by Mason's own hand. Verger has offered a $3,000,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Interesting Fact: Thomas Harris attended the trial of The Monster of Florence, Pietro Pacciani, in 1994, incorporating some of the aspects of the crimes into his Hannibal novel and hinting that Hannibal himself was Il Mostro (The Monster of Florence).
Hannibal: Directed by Ridley Scott, 2001
If some readers were unhappy with the novel, there were those unhappy about the production of a movie in the same vain. Ted Tally didn't want to write the screenplay, Foster didn't want to reprise her role as Starling and Demme wasn't interested in directing. The consensus was it was too graphic and gory and they wanted no part of it; a complete turnaround; they initially were chomping at the bit to be involved in the follow-up to The Silence of the Lambs.
Interesting Fact: Dino De Laurentiis was under the impression that given a good story even he could play Clarice Starling.
The extra dinner course you never needed; you were already full.
Hannibal Rising: Thomas Harris, 2006
From all accounts that I've read, Harris was gently coerced into writing Hannibal Rising. Dino De Laurentiis wanted an origin story to turn into a film and he'd do it with or without Harris. Harris eventually caved and produced the fourth Lecter novel, Hannibal Rising.
Harris uses the hardships of WWII as the starting backdrop for the development of young Lecter's transformation into “Hannibal the Cannibal”. This is perhaps a story that never needed to be told. We were given glimpses in the novel Hannibal that never made it into the movie and perhaps that was a mistake; not seeing the humanity in Hannibal before events unfolded to create a monster and he is a monster, however refined his tastes are. It would have made a good contrast to the harshness of Lecter's grotesque and sadistic actions in Hannibal; that's where a good screenplay, might have made a difference. Francis Dolarhyde, Jame Gumb and Hannibal Lecter weren't born evil, they were shaped and moulded by their harsh experiences as young, innocent, impressionable children. Monsters aren't born, they are made – the moral of the stories. The difference being Hannibal always took responsibility for his actions, never placing the blame at someone else’s feet.
Hannibal Rising: Directed by Peter Webber, 2007
This time Harris would be involved, writing the screenplay for the Hannibal Rising movie. While I enjoyed Gaspard Ulliel as a young Hannibal, I felt that the story was unnecessary.
And just when you thought that was all and Hannibal Lecter's story had been narrated from beginning to end; Lecter was resurrected in 2013 for Bryan Fuller's TV Series, titled Hannibal, for three seasons on NBC.

and murder tableaus, like the layers of a sinful Double Chocolate Torte.
Hannibal TV Series: Developed by Bryan Fuller, 2013-2015
I know what you're going to say; there's no way I'm watching a Hannibal TV show without Hopkins on NBC! Whether your a Cox fan or a Hopkins fan; they both played the part in their own style and both performances are top notch. Hopkins had a little more to sink his teeth into with The Silence of the Lambs; as the screen time was slightly longer than in Manhunter.
I was stubborn too! I didn't watch Hannibal during the originally airing for season one or two. I remember catching a glimpse of an episode as I was on my way out to photograph a band; I was a live music photographer for around three years, so many of my Friday nights were spent in Toronto. It was the episode with the horse and the coffin-birth, which ultimately left an impression. So in January 2015 I binge watched season one and two (26 episodes) in only two days; I couldn't stop watching!
There's been a string of missing girls attributed to one person, known as “The Minnesota Shrike” and the FBI are struggling for leads. Upon the eighth girls disappearance, Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) walks into Will Graham's (Hugh Dancy) classroom to request his help. Graham has the unique ability to empathize with narcissits and sociopaths and as he states, it has less to do with a personality disorder and more to do with an active imagination. Dr. Bloom expresses her concerns to Jack Crawford about using Will Graham for his special gifts and recommends keeping an eye on him; suggesting a colleague of hers, Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Bryan Fuller's adaption uses Red Dragon as the main source material, with additional material from Hannibal and Hannibal Rising; expanding characters stories and switching some genders to give it a less male dominated cast. Characters like Margot Verger, who were left out of the Hannibal movie are slotted back in to give the Mason Verger story more substance. Cordell, Verger's valet and cook, is far cheekier in the TV series. Dr. Alan Bloom is transformed into Dr. Alana Bloom and Freddy Lounds, once played by the amazing Philip Seymour Hoffman becomes Freddie Lounds played by Lara Jean Chorostecki, who plays her less sleazy and yet still despicable.
Interesting Fact: Bryan Fuller incorporated some of the forward written by Harris in Red Dragon about his experience writing the novel.
Whipped Fresh Creme & a Cherry On-top!
Hannibal Fan Fiction
Season 3 of Hannibal ends on a cliff hanger and unfortunately NBC cancelled the show without a resolution. Not to worry, there is a buffet of Hannibal Fan Fiction out there for you to sink your teeth into. Hannibal fan fiction spans the spectrum of General Audience to NC-17 to pornographic; there is something to suit everyone's taste. If you don't find anything pleasing; you can always write your own fan fiction!
Interesting Fact: Some of the cast members have read Hannibal fan fiction.
Hannibal Fan Art
The amazing thing about the Hannibal fandom, whether you're old school or new school; there is incredible artwork to explore created by incredibly talented artists.
Interesting Fact: Bryan Fuller and the De Laurentiis Company are not dicks about copyright infringement, when it comes to fan art and fan fiction.
Hannibal Conventions
Red Dragon Con by Starfury: An all Hannibal Con in London, England.
Fannibal Fest: An all Hannibal Con with location tours in Toronto, Canada.
Sofa-Con by Fannibal Fest: Due to the lock-down situation around the world because of Covid-19 all conventions were cancelled in 2020. Fannibal Fest set of some Zoom meetings with guests that starred or worked on Hannibal.
There are several Hannibal fandom groups all over different parts of the world; who meat-up to dine and discuss their favourite topic, Hannibal. I am part of a GTA Fannibal group that centres around Toronto, Canada and we’ve met several times.
So, as we finish our dining experience with Dr. Hannibal Lecter; we'll eagerly anticipate another invitation to Lecter's dinner table, as a guest or if you're unspeakably rude, perhaps you'll be the main course; either way I'll meet or eat you there!

Our exclusive sister YouTube affiliate named XProjectOriginal obtained this Spanish review and impressions stated from this trailer but, there is no synopsis from the description of the show regarding from this YouTube Original web series of Helluva Boss. XProjectOriginal was told exclusively to OneNETnews in a referenced roughly translated Spanish dialect... "This is for the adults and i have to talk about Sex and Drugs for this web series. This was very unusual because obviously, they are much doing things stronger, funnier and a darker humor which many people like 4chan and Social Media for example, does not like this show to yourself at all. An expletive offensive language, graphic violence and disturbing sexual references is possibly necessary. This series is much really dang good by the way, but not for everyone for most people."
According to XProjectOriginal from his review & impressions, the Immediate Murder Professionals (IMP) from the assassinated company of Heck employees will do their jobs in a slain-titive way. Blitzo is a founder and a manager of IMP, Moxxie is an Assassin and Weapons Expert, Millie is an Assassin Bruiser & Loona is a Receptionist person in dealing with your worst problems.
