w-werewolf ideas? -pleading eyes- (but only if ur up for it)
Hello, friend, I am finally here with my treatise on Medieval Werewolves. So this is going to be more like a Brief History of Werewolves as I Can Remember It Off the Top of My Head, Over A Year Since I Read Most of These Sources, than maybe the list of werewolf fucking ideas you might have been looking for. I hope you will agree that this rich history of werewolf lore is a GOLDMINE when you view it with the monster fucking lens. Now, the story I've been working on only has incidental werewolf-fucking, it's not a Monster Fucking story, but I will do my best to help you.
WEREWOLVES ARE REALLY FUCKING OLD. The first recorded "beast-man" is in the Epic of Gilgamesh (~2100 BCE), where Enkidu is a "bull-man" that Gilgamesh helps to find his humanity. Not werewolf specific, per se, but monster fuckers have been around a while. The most famous early werewolf is Lycaon of Arcadia (I believe a date of around 400 BCE), a king who fed Zeus the flesh of his own son cause he thought it would be funny, I guess. Zeus turned Lycaon into a wolf, or wolf-man, and that's where the word Lycan comes from. This also establishes a connection of werewolves with cannibalism.
So now I am actually going to fast forward to the Middle Ages. There is a rich, rich history of werewolves in Europe, particularly in the Slavic and Baltic regions. In Renaissance Germany, werewolf trials were held alongside witch trials. The Malleus Maleficarum, written in 1486 and was like *the* handbook for witch hunting, contained passages on identifying and capturing werewolves. (I'm pretty sure. Like I said it's been a year since I read this stuff.) So what did medieval people believe about werewolves?
There were many ways to become a werewolf. You could have the bad luck to be born on Christmas Day or (interestingly) the night of a New Moon. If you drank water that collected in the pawprint of a werewolf, you too would be cursed. If you died and an animal jumped over your corpse? Werewolf. In Livonia, it was said that if you spoke a certain incantation over your drink, you would become a werewolf upon consuming it. There were also ways to be a werewolf were one had more agency in the transformation. A wolf-pelt belt (often called a "wolf-strap", which cracks me up for reasons we won't discuss here) could be used to transform yourself into a wolf. To become human again, all you had to do was remove the belt. Some people believed you could do the same with a wolf skin. There are stories where if a werewolf's clothes are stolen while they're in wolf form, they will remain that way-- you can read about one such story, as recorded by tumblr user @qqueenofhades here! In Elliott O'Donnell's 1912 book simply titled Werewolves, there is a description of a ritual to summon some dark entity called "the Unknown" who could supposedly grant you powers of lycanthropy. Maybe don't do that. (This book also discusses other, non-European forms of Lycanthropy!)
There are ways for a non-lycan person to return a lycan to their human form; one can return their clothes to them, one can call them by their Christian name (sometimes 3 times, sometimes just once). There are accounts of a witness recognizing the werewolf due to some identifiable injury or something, and once they speak the werewolf's name he will turn back into a human.
Some ways to recognize if a person is a werewolf or not: do they have hair growing on their palms? If you cut them, is there hair growing inward from their skin? Are they just so, so hairy? In Swedish tradition, I believe, it was said that werewolves looked just like regular wolves except they had no tail-- so a werewolf would run on three legs, holding his fourth leg out behind him to look like a tail. Some werewolves still have human eyes when transformed.
A lot of the pop culture lore about werewolves comes from the 1941 The Wolf Man, which really brought the werewolf into modern times. You can check that out if you'd like, it's interesting stuff, but not in the scope of the research I've been doing.
OH MY GOD FLEA you just did a HUGE info dump on werewolves, this is not what I wanted. Yeah, I know, but you triggered my special interest gag-reflex.
But like.... Character A loves Character B and finds their clothes one night, takes them to wash, and a big hairy beast starts following Character A???
Character X gets attacked by a bad guy in the woods but a big ass wolf fends him off and gets a slice down his face. The next day Character Y has a nasty facial wound that seems somehow familiar??
The bond of being able to recognize your lover even when they're in animal form, even when you didn't know they could do that????
And I mean MY GOD just apply A/B/O shit to werewolves HELLO (that's what started this whole spiral for me).
I particularly like medieval monster fucking because the Middle Ages are just very interesting to me. There is a lot of political and religious stuff going on, a lot of culture clashing and forbidden fruit and what not. Remember how I said that there is a rich history of werewolves in the Slavic and Baltic regions? Those were the last areas of Europe to get converted to Christianity. And they resisted, HARD.
Livonia, the Baltic area where you could enchant your beer to make you a werewolf, has a famous account of a man on trial for being a werewolf. "Hell yeah I'm a werewolf," he said. "Me and my werewolf buddies go down to Hell three times a year to fight the Devil and his demons." If I recall correctly they weren't sure what to do with this guy because he *confessed* to being a werewolf and hadn't really done anything wrong. I believe there's another Livonian tale of an abandoned castle where all the werewolves gathered once a year. And something about werewolves breaking into your basement and drinking all your beer and stacking all the barrels up to the ceiling just to be little shits I guess?
Anyway, I think this is super interesting and I know this is not like "Medieval Werewolf Headcanons" but just get out your horny goggles and I am SURE you can find some good shit in this WAY TOO LONG POST.
Peace and LOve

Folklore Fact - Christmas Trees!
It's Christmastime! The most wonderful time of the year! And after holding a festive poll on my Patreon, Christmas trees are the very clear winner for this month's folklore fact. Let's dive right in...
(Couldn't resist)
There are a lot of different theories about Christmas trees. All kinds of concepts about how they might've originated, who had them first - so let's start at the "beginning," per se.
First off, various sources - including most prominently the Encyclopedia Britannica - mention that many cultures saw evergreens as representing eternal life. Makes sense, given they're always green. The ancient Egyptians, Chinese, and Hebrews used evergreen garlands, trees, and - yes - wreaths to symbolize eternal life, and they were used in worship.
Likewise, worship of trees was common among Scandinavian cultures and many other European cultures besides; for instance, the great tree at the Temple at Uppsala was said to be evergreen and was where sacrifices were hanged (including men, horses, dogs, and others)...
(sacrifices hanging in the trees at the temple at Uppsala)
Continuing the sacredness of trees in Scandinavian cultures, decorating the house with evergreens at the end of the year warded away the devil, and sometimes trees were set up for birds to nest in during Christmas time. There was also the very important Yule log during the time of Yule, although that was a log to burn, not a tree. The Yule log is still a tradition today.
However, none of this is the same as bringing a tree into your home and decorating it with candles, gold, and whatever else - and certainly not hanging sacrifices on it. So what really started the Christmas tree we have today?
The evergreen was kind of always specifically related to sanctity and everlasting life in Christianity. After Donar's Oak (a sacred pagan tree) was felled by the Christian Saint Boniface and his retinue, some later versions of the tale include an evergreen growing in its place, its triangular shape representing the Holy Trinity. Likewise, we have Roman sources mentioning Christians decorating their homes in evergreens.
Decorated trees and evergreen elements appear throughout Christian lore over many time periods. For instance, Christmas trees have often been equated to the "tree of paradise" found in the mystery plays of the Middle Ages, which were held on what is now Christmas Eve (December 24). A tree decorated with apples - the forbidden fruit of original sin, which Christ took away - and white wafers (redemption and the Eucharist) was used in plays about Adam and Eve on their name day. Later, this tree was placed in homes, and the red apples became shiny red balls - the same ones we know and love today. It's entirely possible these were our first Christmas trees.
It is often thought the first reference to real "Christmas trees" appears toward the end of the medieval period in the 15th century in the writings of the Regiment of the Cistercian Alcobaça Monastery in Portugal...
"Note on how to put the Christmas branch, scilicet: On the Christmas eve, you will look for a large Branch of green laurel, and you shall reap many red oranges, and place them on the branches that come of the laurel, specifically as you have seen, and in every orange you shall put a candle, and hang the Branch by a rope in the pole, which shall be by the candle of the high altar."
Many of these traditions still live on today.
Generally, Christmas trees are considered to be largely in the Baltic regions and Central Europe. Some people also ascribe the Christmas tree to Martin Luther, who may have been the first to add candles to decorating trees. There is also a representation of a Christmas tree in a keystone sculpture of a home in Turckheim, Alsace (part of France today, formerly in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation). This dates to 1576.
So, are there pre-Christian origins to the Christmas tree? Maybe, as depending upon whom you ask, it did depend on region and denomination in the past - but it's also possible that it was a separate Christian concept and originated from the tale of Adam and Eve and the redemption brought by Jesus Christ, originating even before what some scholars consider to be the first real representations of Christmas trees.
We can't "prove," necessarily, that the evergreens of Christianity came from any one particular previous source. Although all cultures that became Christian were certainly influenced by their previous customs, it could've also been something that originated independently in Christian culture or came about influenced by not one but multiple concepts and cultures. No other culture quite approached it the exact same way as did Christians, same as they never fully approached it the same way among one another. There are many cases of similar traditions developing independently, as is already evident in the idea of evergreen representing eternal life (which of course makes sense) across many cultures that had little or no communication with each other during these time periods.
So... who knows! It was and is a subject of debate among scholars. Either way, the Christmas tree is now undeniably an important part of Christmas and the Christmas season. It just isn't Christmas without the trees.
And that's this year's Christmas folklore fact! If that really counts as folklore. Religious fact? Anyway!
Until next time, and I truly wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a wonderful new year! It's the best time of the year, and I hope it's fantastic for us all.
P.S.: Please don't use this post as a jumping off point to attack any particular set of beliefs/religion. Be nice. It's Christmas. Thanks in advance.

Serbian anon here, sorry I just saw your post about "uncultured". Maybe it's an English as foreign language thing? I meant it in a "you uncultured swine" kind of way, because there are a lot of stereotypes about E and SE Europe (Slavs as they live in most of those areas, but there's also Romanians, Hungarians, Baltic nations, etc, I even talked with some Greek people who feel they are often put in the same bag with us "uncultured swine"), many were fueled by the cold war, but a lot are centuries old, and currently result of capitalism doing its thing of not giving a shit unless something is profitable (aka, we don''t get "representation" because it's just not worth the effort). In Western media we are constantly portrayed as violent, almost animalistic. Men are uneducated brutes in wifebeaters who smoke and beat their wives and children all day long. Women are either sexless manly old hags with short hair and deep voice who are nagging you or chasing you with a broom, or hypersexualised, demure young bimbos who endure the abuse by their aggressive husbands because they don't know better (until a white Western man comes along to teach them the beauty of freedom or some shit). May I suggest a video by Yugopnik called "slavic stereotypes and minority representation in western media" that will make my argument way, way better than I can. XD
I generally don't like to go too often into this topic because lbr there are fascists and white supremacists among Slavs as well, and they often find themselves invited whenever discussion about anti-Slav sentiments is brought up literally anywhere. But from my experience, A LOT of Western people see a lot of E/SE European peoples as this almost barbaric group too stupid to take care of ourselves (even though a lot of the times when we try something, we're bombed to the stone age by US empire and its buddies). If I may draw a parallel, we're kind of like the Mexicans of Europe, as in "the ruling white people" will happily declare that we don't have any culture that isn't stealing, wife beating, and having dozens of babies who are simultaneously too lazy to work and are taking all your tax money, and also there to take all your jobs. (I don't even want to start with what they're doing to Polish people in UK.)
So to finish this tirade off back on A Serbian Film - I feel a lot of Westerners see it as "violence and gore with no artistic merit" because it comes from a nation that is all barbarism and no culture or history, completely ignoring the fact that there is a lot of deeper cultural meaning, despite the violence and gore and all that porn. Except even those are there specifically as a critique of overproduced, flat bullshit disneyesque cinema that exists not to offend anyone and extract as much money as possible.
Bet you were happy to give me this soapbox, eh. XD I hope I answered some part of what you wanted, and I apologise as I'm not a native English speaker and my thoughts are probably a convoluted mess.

Antonina Nezhdanova - Arditi: Parla waltz, 1912 High D6
THE SONGBIRD: Antonina Nezhdanova [Антонина Нежданова] (1873 - 1950) was born near Odessa, Ukraine, then in the Russian Empire. She is widely considered one of the greatest lyric-coloratura sopranos of her -- or any -- era. She made tons of records, nearly all of which are already uploaded to YouTube.
Nezhdanova sang in choirs in her youth, then entered the Moscow Conservatory in 1899 and also studied in Italy. She joined the Bolshoi upon graduation, making her debut as Gilda in 1902. She sang a wide array of leading roles in Moscow and St Petersburg for over three decades (Juliette, Ludmila, Marfa, Marguerite de Valois, Lucia, Lakme, Leila, Violetta, Tatyana, Rosina, Manon, etc.) as well as in Kyiv and Odessa. She toured the Baltic region, and appeared for a season in Paris — including singing Gilda opposite Enrico Caruso and Tito Ruffo in 1912. Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise" is dedicated to Nezhdanova, who sang its world premiere in Moscow in 1916. In 1936, she began to teach singing in Moscow and was appointed a professor at the city's conservatory in 1943.
THE MUSIC: Luigi Arditi (1822 – 1903) was an Italian composer, conductor, and violinist. He performed and conducted all over the world in his prime (Cuba, America, Germany, Turkey, Great Britain, Spain, Austria, Russia). Though he composed a few operas that were modest successes, he is only remembered today for his handful of jaunty concert waltzes that were favorite florid showpieces of prima donna sopranos: "Parla," "Il Bacio," and "Se Saran Rose" are the most frequently revived.

The choir of irresponsible bastards from among Western elites calling for sending their troops to the nonexistent country is expanding. Now it includes members of US Congress, French and British administration, and some madmen from the Baltic States and Poland. They are also… — Dmitry Medvedev (@MedvedevRussiaE) May 6, 2024
— (Little) Think Tank (@L_ThinkTank) May 6, 2024

O discord terá seu próprio canal disponível no dia e vocês também também podem pedir por joguinhos e hcs usando a #mzhcall;
