Biden supporters are raising Trump's associations with Jeffrey Epstein — again.

Recently-released docs in the Epstein investigation make no mention of Trump.

Democrats have tried deflecting concerns about Biden's age by bringing up Trump's past.

Some Joe Biden supporters are employing a tried-and-true strategy to fend off rampant debate over the President's age and mental acuity: deflection.

On social media — and even in the halls of Congress — certain Biden supporters are using Donald Trump's associations with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein as an argument to disqualify him.

Discourse about Trump and Epstein was reignited after documents from Epstein's first Florida investigation in 2006 were released last week.

But the 158-page document — a grand jury transcript showing prosecutors heard testimony that Epstein raped girls as young as 14, then still cut him a sweetheart plea deal — makes no mention of Trump himself.

Still, some seized the news cycle as a way to counteract doubts about Biden's own fitness to run for office in 2024.

Why no one's writing about Trump and Epstein

During a press conference on Tuesday, Rep. Ted Lieu of California urged more media coverage of the "Epstein files," adding that a "highly disturbing" hashtag about Trump and Epstein was trending on X.

Trump had previously been photographed with Epstein, Lieu said, had flown with him on planes with young girls on board, and the two were listed on call logs together.

"It shows that Donald Trump is unfit for office," the congressman said, adding Trump was also convicted of sexual abuse in civil court.

Ben Meiselas, the cofounder of liberal news network Meidas Touch, also posted on X about "the release of new Epstein files with Trump's name on it." Other Biden boosters have suggested a coordinated media cover-up to boost Trump's chances or doom Biden's.

But Trump isn't named in the latest records, a fact reiterated on X by Julie Brown, the Miami Herald investigative journalist who helped break the Epstein story.

Media outlets haven't reported on Trump's connection to the new Epstein files because there isn't one.

What we know about Trump's relationship with Epstein

Trump has appeared in previous unsealed and uncovered documents connected to the Epstein case.

Trump was also connected to 14 different numbers in Epstein's little black book of contacts that surfaced before the financier's arrest on sex trafficking charges in 2019. Among the contacts were Trump's wife, Melania; ex-wife, Ivana; and daughter, Ivanka.

The contact book also included the names of high-profile celebrities like Courtney Love, Alec Baldwin, and Naomi Campbell, as well as politicians and dignitaries like John Kerry, Michael Bloomberg, Henry Kissinger, and Prince Andrew.

Unsealed flight logs in 2019 revealed Trump took a flight on Epstein's private jet in 2017; billionaire couple Glenn and Eva Dubin joined him on the flight from Palm Beach to Newark.

And in January, a Business Insider analysis of then-unsealed court records determined Trump appeared in the documents multiple times under the moniker "Doe 174."

However, the mentions in those documents weren't all damning for the former President, BI's Jacob Shamsian reported at the time.

In one instance, a woman denied in a deposition that she'd massaged Trump. In another, a woman claimed — then recanted — that her friend had had sex with him. And Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of the key accusers of sexual abuse by Epstein and his associates, said in one document that she didn't think Trump was involved.

Trump had previously faced allegations by an anonymous woman that claimed he had violently raped her at an orgy when she was 13 years old. The woman — who went by the pseudonym "Katie Johnson" — even filed a lawsuit against Trump, twice.

The first was a civil rights suit in April 2016 that was thrown out on a technicality. Vox noted that the original suit listed the woman's apparent address as an abandoned home.

She filed a second lawsuit that removed some of the lurid details. Still, the case was connected to strange characters, including a Jerry Springer producer who tried to sell a video of the purported accuser to news outlets for $1 million and an anti-Trump activist who promoted the lawsuit — and had a history of spreading untrue gossip.

The woman abruptly dropped the lawsuit in November 2016, just days before the election that Donald Trump would win. Her lawyer didn't share a reason for why the lawsuit was dropped at the time.

Trump had publicly praised Epstein before his sexual abuse allegations came to light. He called Epstein a "terrific guy" in 2002, adding, "It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."

But the Washington Post reported the two men had a falling out in 2004 after they both wanted to buy a prime Palm Beach property.

After Epstein's arrest, Trump told reporters, "I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you." Trump has also said he barred Epstein from Mar-A-Lago.

The Fine Arts Library owns a facsimile edition of two datebooks that artist Eva Hesse kept during her time in Germany between 1964 to 1965. They are accompanied by a supplementary volume that includes transcriptions of Hesse’s hand-written text and explanatory references.

7/1 – 3 Worked like crazy!! Tom is Hesse’s husband, sculptor Tom Doyle. Hesse and Doyle traveled to Germany and stayed there from June 1964 to August 1965. The couple separated in 1966 after their return to New York. Hesse always kept diaries, and she wrote about her troubled relationship with Tom during their time in Germany when tensions in their marriage were high. She also kept small calendar books to record day-to-day events.

"Miyako," Miriam said, placing her in her lap, "We just want to help. If you tell us, then we could help.'

The seven year old had been uncharacteristically upset when dropped off at Baldwin's. She would be a little upset, missing her mother. But it had been three days and a call from a teacher, asking if everything was okay.

"Mummy's friend was mean to me." Miyako admitted, "I don't like him."

Baldwin frowned. Eva's friends and suitors were usually overly nice to Miyako, considering they were tryign to impress her mother and remembered who her father was.

They were two people, married or divorced, you didn't mess with.

"Did you tell mama?" Baldwin asked.

"She said he didn't like children very much, but he would be nice, but he did his grumpy face and called me silly but in a mean way." Miyako pointed.

Baldwin's eyes narrowed, "What his name? Just so I can make sure he's nice."

"It's a wierd name. Like a gerbil." The child then gasped," Can I have a gerbil?"

"Gerbert?" Miriam asked, confused. She nodded and Miriam's eyes widened as Baldwin's narrowed further.

"Yes," Miyako confirmed.

"Are you fucking-" Baldwin seethed and marched to his office. Miriam and Miyako watched him do this.

"That's in the swear jar." Miriam sighed, "Okay, start on your drawing. I'll go check on papa. And use my headphones, there may be yelling."

Miriam went to Baldwin's office, where he was pulling file and file from one of his shelves, whilst ranting to himself. Mirima shut the office

"Baldwin."

"She could have anyone. But no, the one fucker-!"

"Baldwin-"

"And then he's rude to our child. And she lets him-!"

"Baldwin!" Miriam yells, catching his attention. He stops and takes a deep breath.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"I think the weirder thing is the age gap." Miriam tried to joke.

"Everyone knows the rumours, about what he did to Juliette. Eva knows, her mother was spreading them." Baldwin ranted, "What the fuck is she doing, having the one man, going with the one family mine and especially I cannot stand!"

"Okay, but you cannot give in to this." Miriam reasoned.

"It's being done to provoke me. I don't care who she dates, even if is that snivelling catholic cunt," Baldwin said, "But he hurt my child's feelings."

"This way they both win - you'll look like the ruthless arse who takes his daughter away and he gets to embarrass you." Miriam pointed out.

Baldwin looks up at her, "Perhaps I will be. For Miyako's sake." He turned to his wall safe, one of many and took out a file. Mirima recognised the family isigna on the leather cover.

"Philippe? You can't." Involving Philippe was the nuclear option.

When Baldwin and Eva divorced, they did so in the most amicable way possible - shared custody, Miyako schooled in England as her mother travelled too much.

Philippe wasn't happy. He had thought Baldwin had been too soft. Miyako was a de Clermont. He and Baldwin had a plan, the most ruthless option. It gained the de Clermonts full custody and revealed damaging information about Eva's own family.

Let's just say, they weren't exactly resisting the political changes of 1930s Germany.

But Baldwin refused. He had done too much fighting during the last days of his marriage, he didn't want Miyako used in it.

"Think about Miyako. You don't want her to resent her mother." Miriam said, "Or you. Negoiate."

"Miriam."

Eva was surprised to see Matthew's friend at Baldwin's house, answering the door.

"Eva. Hi." She opened the door to let her in, "Baldwin is in his office."

"So he called in reinforcements. Is Matthew here too?" Eva asked with interest, "Hugh?"

"Just me and Hamish." Miriam replied, "But I'm here because it's my day off," She walked down the corridor into the living room. Eva knew the way to Baldwin's office by heart, and was surprised to see Hamish, the family lawyer there.

"What is this?" Eva demanded.

" you and Gerbert."

"You and Miriam." Eva replied, "Tell me, are you doing it to fuck with Matthew?"

"No." Baldwin replied shortly, "Why?"

"She's with my child," Eva said, "I deserved to know."

"And yet, you strike up a relationship with Gerbert d'Aurilliac." Baldwin retorted.

"Gerbert cares for me." Eva protested "And yes, he's difficult with children..."

"Juliette?" Baldwin asked, "How does she feel about this?"

"A resentful brat married to another resentful brat," Eva observed and Baldwin nodded in agreement with the assessment of Domenico at least.

Hamish opened his briefcase and placed it on the desk, pulling out two contracts for them to sign, "We want this as painless as possible." Hamish said.

"What's this?"

"Our original divorce agreement, that my father drew up. But I amended it." Baldwin said.

Eva's face fell. She knew anything drawn up by Philippe de Clermont contained damaging information.

"Well, there was a part of me that very much wanted to watch you squirm." Baldwin said, "A large part of me. But Miriam reminded me that I don't want our daughter to despise you as much as we despise each other."

"What are the terms?" Eva asked, slightly less braver than she had been up to this point.

"Sole custody. Miyako lives here full time." Baldwin demanded, "You can have 3/4 of school holidays, but she does Christmas at Sept-Tours, New Years in Berlin with you. We will always notify each other of the usual health appointments, emergencies, etc."

"Because of Gerbert?" Eva asked.

"Miyako needs stability." Baldwin insisted, "Can you honestly say with you job and with Gerbert we can provide that?"

"We always listen to Mimi." Eva agreed, "I suppose we got so caught up in winning."

"We forget what's important." Baldwin finished.

"She calls this home." Eva admitted, swallowing, "It's funny, isn't it?"

"She loves you just as much. You're the one that fought for her." Baldwin pointed out, "Adopting isn't easy, even when rich. Remember when we fought in front of the social worker?"

Eva smiled slightly and she picked out a pen from her handbag.

"I do miss your ruthless streak." Eva observed as she signed, "You get this glint in your eye when you know you've won. It was was arousing."

......

The three emerged from the office, a decision made.

"Hello mama," Miyako greeted when she saw her. She was in Miriam's arms, "Do I have to go now?"

"No, schatzi. You are staying here. In London. All the time with papa," Eva said.

"Really?" Miyako asked, looking at her dad who gave her a small smile.

"I was thinking, for Easter, we'll go and see your Oma in Berlin." Eva asked, "Is that okay?"

Miyako nodded, "Can we get those big chocolate eggs like last year?"

"But of course." She kissed her, "Be good for papa and Miriam. And you be sure to call me at weekends and tell me how well you are doing at school. Promise?"

"Promise." They pinky swore and Eva gave wrapped her in her arms, hugging her as if realsing for the first time in a while that this was her child, her baby.

"I like your perfume, mama," Miyako mumbled into her shoulder.

"Papa will buy you three bottles," Eva said, with a wink. Baldwin rolled his eyes.

"I'll ship her clothes from my house in Rome here," Eva said.

"That's good."

Eva glanced at Miriam and nodded politely. But it wasn't without slight warning.

"That was a lot more peaceful than the first time." Hamish remarked, "I don't think I will ever get the smell of burning oil paint out my head. Or suit."

Miriam wrapped her arms around Baldwin's waist and kissed him on the cheek, "I'm proud of you."

"Thank you. If you excuse me, I'm going to destroy that new investment firm, the one named after Bellic." Baldwin said gruffly. Miriam sighed but smiled. He did hate surrender. Destroying someone's livelihood would help him get over it.

"That's owned by Gerbert's eldest son?" Hamish pointed out. Baldwin looked at him, "I will shut up."

Another year, another AMAZING collection of entries in the TDF + Laminex Design Awards!

To be honest, after the difficult 18 months we’ve all had, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect from this year’s program. But we were absolutely blown away by the quality of entries we received. The standard was ESPECIALLY high this year, so we’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who entered, and of course, a massive congratulations to the finalists.

The images in this post represent just a small taste of the shortlisted projects in this year’s awards program. Over the next couple of months we’ll be sharing an in-depth look at each category shortlist more closely!

Residential Architecture

This category seeks to award one standout Australian residential architecture Project. Ground-up builds, renovations and additions are all eligible within this category.

Facebook will stream a virtual graduation ceremony featuring Oprah and Miley Cyrus

As dates for reopening the country are continually pushed back, virtually every aspect of life has been disrupted. Holidays, birthdays, weddings and funerals have begun to be virtualized in order for attendees to maintain social distances. It’s an inevitability the class of 2020 has no doubt been dreading for months.

Here’s some consolation from Facebook: a virtual graduation ceremony. The social media giant is bringing out some heavy hitters for the event, too. Oprah Winfrey will be giving the commencement address, while Awkwafina, Jennifer Garner, Lil Nas X and Simone Biles will all be giving speech. Miley Cyrus is set to perform.

The event kicks off at 11AM PT/2PM ET on May 15 via the Facebook Watch App. Four days prior, Instagram will start showing daily videos “that spotlights iconic senior experiences — from ‘most likely’ votes to portrait showcases to senior skip day.” The company will also be offering features to host a “virtual graduation ceremony and party” on the site.

Other sites are holding similar events. Also on May 15, Her Story will host I’m Still Graduating, featuring appearances by  Eva Longoria, Radhika Jones, Margaret Cho, Brooke Baldwin, Liam Payne, Jesse McCartney, Andrew Yang and Tamron Hall. Many school are also planning their own, less star-studded events to celebrate graduations remotely. 

It has to be a bit heartbreaking to do all of this stuff through social medium, Zoom and the like. But for the time being, that’s just going to have to be the virtual world we live in.

Holidays, birthdays, weddings and funerals have begun to be virtualized in order for attendees to maintain social distances. It’s an inevitability the class of 2020 has no doubt been dreading for months.

Here’s some consolation from Facebook: a virtual graduation ceremony. The social media giant is bringing out some heavy hitters for the event, too. Oprah Winfrey will be giving the commencement address, while Awkwafina, Jennifer Garner, Lil Nas X and Simone Biles will all be giving speech. Miley Cyrus is set to perform.

The event kicks off at 11AM PT/2PM ET on May 15 via the Facebook Watch App. Four days prior, Instagram will start showing daily videos “that spotlights iconic senior experiences — from ‘most likely’ votes to portrait showcases to senior skip day.” The company will also be offering features to host a “virtual graduation ceremony and party” on the site.

Other sites are holding similar events. Also on May 15, Her Story will host I’m Still Graduating, featuring appearances by  Eva Longoria, Radhika Jones, Margaret Cho, Brooke Baldwin, Liam Payne, Jesse McCartney, Andrew Yang and Tamron Hall. Many school are also planning their own, less star-studded events to celebrate graduations remotely. 

It has to be a bit heartbreaking to do all of this stuff through social medium, Zoom and the like. But for the time being, that’s just going to have to be the virtual world we live in.

Noticias de la semana: Las cuatro nuevas series de 'Juego de Tronos'

El futuro de Game of Thrones

HBO ya ve cerca el final de Juego de Tronos y empieza a pensar en el futuro de la franquicia. La cadena ha comenzado a hablar con George R.R. Martin y otros cuatro guionistas para desarrollar cuatro series que explorarían historias de distintas épocas de este universo, sin aclarar si serían precuelas, secuelas o spin-offs. Estos guionistas son Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island, Minority Report), Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, Kingsman), Brian Helgeland (Mystic River, A Knight's Tale) y Carly Wray (Mad Men, The Leftovers), que no tienen ninguna relación con la serie original. Weiss y Benioff no están unidos a estos proyectos actualmente, pero serían productores ejecutivos de cualquiera de ellos junto a Martin si llegasen a materializarse. Eric Dane pide una pausa

Tras volver de dos semanas de vacaciones, la producción de The Last Ship vuelve a detenerse hasta el 29 de mayo a petición de Eric Dane, que quiere tratar su depresión. En 2011, Dane buscó ayuda profesional para su adicción a los analgésicos prescritos tras una lesión deportiva. Todavía no hay fecha de estreno de la cuarta temporada, pero no se esperan retrasos ya que se ha completado su grabación. Ya se centran en la quinta, que se emitirá en 2018. [Fuente]

Luz verde directa en Paramount Network a diez episodios de Yellowstone, drama escrito y dirigido por Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, Sicario) sobre la familia dueña del mayor rancho de Estados Unidos, bajo ataques diarios de sus vecinos: una reserva india, el parque nacional y agentes de urbanismo.

Ruth Wilson (The Affair, Luther) interpretará a su propia abuela, que descubrió que su difunto esposo era un espía del MI6 y escritor de thrillers y tenía otra mujer y tres hijos, en The Wilsons (3 episodios). Fue su abuela la que tuvo que contactar con la primera esposa, pero será ésta la que llegue a la puerta de Alison Wilson en la trama que ha escrito Anna Symon (Dark Matters: Twisted But True) para BBC One inspirándose en la historia real.

BBC One y PBS han encargado la adaptación en tres episodios de Little Women, la novela de Louisa May Alcott (1868). Escribe Heidi Thomas (Call the Midwife) y dirige Vanessa Caswill (Thirteen, My Mad Fat Diary).

BBC One ha encargado la adaptación en tres episodios de The War of the Worlds, la novela de H.G. Wells (1898). Escribe Peter Harness (Doctor Who, Wallander).

BBC One y Netflix emitirán Giri/Haji - Duty/Shame (ocho episodios), sobre un detective de mediana edad de Tokio que viaja a Londres en busca de su hermano, a quien creía muerto y ahora parece haber reaparecido como miembro de la Yakuza y buscado por el asesinato de un hombre de negocios japonés. BBC One tendrá seis episodios de Informer, thriller contemporáneo de Rory Haines y Sohrab Noshirvani sobre un joven paquistaní de Londres obligado a informar como encubierto por un agente de la lucha contra el terrorismo.

BBC One encarga también A Very English Scandal, adaptación en tres episodios del libro de John Preston, sobre la historia real de Jeremy Thorpe, el primer político juzgado por conspiración e incitación al asesinato, concretamente de su examante Norman Scott, en los años setenta, poco después de la legalización de la homosexualidad en Reino Unido. BBC One encarga Come Home, drama de tres episodios de Danny Brocklehurst (Ordinary Lies, The Five), sobre una madre que abandona a su marido y sus tres hijos en Irlanda del Norte. Con los productores de Happy Valley y Last Tango in Halifax.

BBC One encarga Black Narcissus, adaptación en tres episodios de la novela de Rumer Godden (1939), sobre la represión sexual y el amor prohibido en el Nepal de los años treinta. Escribe Amanda Coe (Apple Tree Yard).

BBC Two encarga Summer of Rockets (seis episodios), serie semiautobiográfica de Stephen Poliakoff (Close to the Enemy) ambientada en la Guerra Fría en 1957.

BBC Three encarga Overshadowed (ocho episodios), basada en la obra de Eva O'Connor (2015) sobre una chica cuya vida se descontrola al conocer al monstruo de la anorexia personificado. Escrita por la propia O'Connor y Hildegard Ryan, está producida por Kay Mellor (In the Club, The Syndicate).
