Could I request headcanons for Astarion reacting to his gn s/o who always asks him for his consent or double check with him first before doing anything please?
-------------------------------🩸-------------------------------
At first he finds it incredibly annoying. Being constantly bombarded with questions, as if they can’t make a decision on his own, is something Astarion does not have time for (although in reality he has all the time in the world).
When he eventually figures out what they are doing, he’s a little skeptical. Why would they care what he has to think? What made him comfortable? It was an old trick of Cazador’s to play the gentle hand just before the lash came down, so Astarion is afraid that this is just a betrayal to dig the knife in deeper.
Once he realizes that it’s out of genuine concern, care even, Astarion is very touched. It has been so long since anyone cared what he thought, how he felt. He’s just been pointed in a direction and told to go, regardless on how hard or degrading the road might be.
It takes time for him to trust this new perspective, still afraid to express himself, but when he does it’s illuminating. Astarion not only feels safe in expressing himself but finding things he doesn’t like; now that he has a choice.
He appreciates their effort and care, but still tries to be as accommodating as possible for certain things. Not because he has to, but because Astarion wants to now.

Astarion: Gods below, what is Gale cooking this time? I can smell the disappointing odor of melancholy and nutmeg from here.
Gale: *From across the camp.* YOU AREN'T GOING TO EAT ANY OF IT, ANYWAY!
Lae'zel: His food does lack daring and confidence. Perhaps some spices could salvage it, but I am not optimistic.
Astarion: Well, what do you expect from a man whose diet consists of moldy trinkets and old boots.
Gale: *From across the camp.* YOU KNOW I DON'T ACTUALLY EAT THEM!

can i request karlach, jaheira and shadowheart x dhampir bard gn reader headcanons? maybe also platonic headcanons for astarion.
Warnings: Mentions of blood/gore/flesh, descriptions of eating blood/gore/flesh
Notes: So I didn't want to go entirely with like, typical dhampir straight off the bat, so I rolled a d8 to see what reader would hunger for! The reader thirsts more for flesh/raw meat than blood, but can be sated with either! I was SO stoked to write this! Sorry if I focus more on the Dhampir side of things, I just... LOVE the idea <3 They might be a bit uneven! My requests are currently open! My pinned post (found here) contains both a list of characters I write for, and a masterlist! Original character list - please request for these too!
Karlach
Initially, Karlach didn't really notice anything out of the ordinary with you. Sure, you had a... slightly offputting aura to you, but who in your little rag-tag team didn't? You seemed so funny to Karlach - your dark humour complimented her own very well, and she loved that about you. The fact that you were a bard made it all the better; when you weren't regaling the group with various tales, Karlach was making suggestions for insults you could use against opponents. You also taught her an insult or two, mostly because her delivery is always amusing to you.
She knew that you had a few... better than average abilities, but you often dismissed them if anyone tried to bring them up; your speed, your strength - and especially your rather uncanny ability to charm almost anyone to your cause. It's a very helpful skill for you to have, and since you don't want to talk about it, Karlach leaves the topic be.
As you spent more time on the road together, and grew closer, Karlach began to notice a few things about you. Your songs would often dwell on the gore of a tale, and even add it in - like it was something that you couldn't take your mind off of. She brushed it off though - bards always seemed to have something that they would focus on in their songs, perhaps the violence was just your thing, rather than the victory or the romance that other bards tried to emphasise. Even if you weren't the typical lovey-dovey bard that she was used to, she was definitely not complaining when you serenaded her in the evening.
That was her perfect evening - quality time with her lover, snuggled together in her tent, with you quietly playing and singing to her. Even if your songs can be a bit morbid, she loves hearing the sound of your voice.
She also noticed that you didn't often eat with her and the rest of the group - in fact, it was more like you never did. She didn't understand why, though - you always seemed so eager to eat. It was like your appetite was never really satisfied. It took her having to stalk you out into the woods one evening to discover your rather... Unsavoury appetite. The shock she felt at first made her freeze; how would someone rationally react to the sight of someone they loved eating flesh? How would someone react at all, let alone rationally?
Karlach ended up just standing there, unable to take her eyes off of you as your teeth tore into the meat in your hands. Things were starting to make sense to her - your songs focusing on gore was like the mind of a hungry person focusing on food. You were halfway through your meal when you saw the barbarian standing there, and you couldn't help but freeze too - your hunger, or rather the sating of it, was one of the only things that you had actively tried to hide.
"You'd seen us with Astarion - why didn't you tell us? Why didn't you tell me?" You thought Astarion's affliction was... Rather simple, in comparison to your own. A vampire, people knew about - a mortal, turned undead by another vampire, fed by blood. When you thought about that, you felt... Worse - your hunger couldn't be sated by blood alone. You had to have flesh as well, you craved it.
And, furthermore, your origins weren't exactly conventional; perhaps for Dhampirs, yes, but in general, not really. Having one vampire parent wasn't brilliant when talking to, well, anyone.
Thankfully, Karlach just about takes it in stride - though she doesn't appreciate secrecy between the two of you, she can kind of understand why you'd wanted to keep it that was for a while; no more secrets though. Lovers don't keep secrets, in her book.
Jaheira
Jaheira's wisdom had immediately set off quiet alarms about you after knowing you for a little while; seeing how you act around people, your constant noticeable hunger, the lot. She never brought it up, however. When your back is against the wall, you need as many allies as you can get, and you were certainly a favourable one, despite your oddities.
She had further inklings when you decided to entertain those taking shelter at Last Light. Your playing was divine - but that wasn't what irked her. What is was, was the more prominent canines that she could quite clearly see when you sang. She tried to blame it on the wine, but deep down she knew it wasn't so. She just didn't want to think that one of her currently most trusted allies was undead. Another reason she pushed it aside for the time being was because she knew it would be foolish to push away what seemed to be her best hope of getting out of the Shadow Curse alive. It was more than foolish, it was downright stupid - in times such as this, you must take every little blessing that you can.
It was during the battle at Moonrise that her suspicions started to be proven correctly. Your speed was unmatched by all but your pale elf companion, your blows hit just as hard as your barbarian friend. Not just that, but she had seen you bite one of your foes whilst in a frenzy of hits.
During the night-long celebration that followed the battle and all it entailed, Jaheira decided to confront you. You had stalked off to some mildly secluded area, just out of sight of the campfire, and Jaheira pursued. There she found a sight, that despite her suspicions, she had not expected. What she had expected was the amount of blood that had managed to smear itself round your face; what hadn't crossed her mind was the sheer amount of flesh that accompanied it. The way you tore into it, fangs first, was near feral - it was certainly a gruesome sight, and the druid was at least glad it was her who had found you, and not anyone else.
"I understand the necessity to hide such a secret from the masses, however, you're not exactly subtle with, well, any of it." Her words were not meant to chastise, but more to guide - she actually wanted to help you a little bit. You were valuable to her - both as an ally and a companion, and she would do near anything to help you. The world was unkind to many beings, dhampirs of course being one of them. She knew she couldn't shield you from all of the adversity you may face, but she could try and help you.
And so she does - or she tries her best, as you all head to Baldur's Gate. She doesn't exactly approve of your tastes now that you've entered the city, but understands that sometimes, needs must. She encourages you to resist if you can, and only take those who truly deserve death if you need to feed.
Shadowheart
Shadowheart didn't think there was too much out of the ordinary with you at first. To her, you were... Just a bard. A bard who mainly sang about violence, battles, and gore. Though, every bard has their gimmick, so she didn't think much more about it. She supposed it was a nice break from the norm of love and ancient legends.
Despite being fairly learned in things that lurk in the night, it took Shadowheart a while to figure out that you were a dhampir - though, she blamed part of that on her memory suppression. But, when she did finally figure it out, she wasn't entirely surprised. The fact that there was also a Vampire and a Warlock in the party... There was little left that would surprise the Sharran.
"I suppose I should have seen it coming... Your ballads about the innards of your foes, your sneaking off during supper... Not to mention your preternatural speed and strength, and those sharp canines of yours... All the signs were there, even if somewhat contradicted by the fact that you're alive. A pity I couldn't see it sooner. Then again... I suppose having two supernatural allies is better than having one, hm? That being said... No more secrets. I can't trust you if you hide things from me."
Despite your... Condition, she's actually very comfortable around you. She was quite perturbed when she caught you mid-feed- "I thought Dhampirs only fed on blood?!" You had to try and explain that in fact, there were many kinds of dhampirs - some had sanguine hunger, similar to their undead counterparts, others like yourself fed on the flesh of a victim, but there were even those who fed on more abstract energy, such as dreams. It was quite a shock to Shadowheart, but she kept her questions to a minimum.
As your journey continues, she asks you to sing to her more and more - often requesting to hear about your favourite things; your home, where your favourite haunt was before the mindflayers, but often, she likes to hear of your finest kills, and the feast that ensues after. She'll often jokingly muse, "Do you ever wonder what my flesh would taste like?" "Sometimes... Though I try not to dwell on the thought for too long... I think you'd taste sweet - aromatic, even... A true, refined delicacy."
She'd laugh quietly, and then ask you to sing to her again as she leans against you. The longer you spend journeying together, the more she comes to trust you. She finds it easier and easier to open up to you, knowing that despite your neverending hunger, you would never turn your fangs towards her... Unless she asked, of course. She likens your struggle to resist to her struggle with her faith to Shar; it's a long, inner struggle that often, you cannot speak to anyone about.
When you get to the city, she does make jokes akin to "I'm sure no one would miss him... Do you think he'd taste good enough?" And wouldn't say no to the idea of you potentially eating members of her cloister, now that they are somewhat after her.
Astarion (platonic)
This man nearly outs you on more than one occasion. He says each time that is it "Merely an accident, a slip of the tongue, if you will... It won't happen again..." But, I can guarantee, it will. It's a near daily occurrence.
This is because that, being a vampire himself, Astarion knows what to look for, when it comes to being around someone like himself. Sure, you don't have the trademark paleness that a vampire often possesses, but you have nearly every other feature. After one full day of travelling with you, observing your behavior, seeing your prowess in battle, and hearing your ballads of blood, guts and gore... He knows. He saunters right up to you, and says it nearly loud enough for the whole camp to hear. You clasp your hand over his mouth, begging him to stay quiet. The last thing you need is to be ousted to your party, when you have no idea how to react.
To begin, Astarion tries to give you tips on how to hide your true nature. After a while of staring at your frankly disinterested face, he realises that there's no point. So, instead you start to discuss the... Finer points of your diets - what tastes good, what doesn't; it's a brilliant bonding point for the pair of you. It's what a lot of your friendship is built upon, and you can't complain about it - it's nice to finally have someone who can understand the insatiable hunger, the need to hide, all of it... Even if he does constantly criticise your ballads for being "inaccurate" when it comes to the descriptions of the blood and the gore. He truly can be a stickler for being right, sometimes. You eventually learn to ignore him, though.

Another headcanon for our dear Gale! I think Gale has a habit of running his hands through his amazing hair as a nervous tic. So much to the point where eventually, in his old age, he develops a bit of a bald spot.

My Beauty and the Beast wires got crossed with my BG3 wires because I saw that one show where Josh Groban was the prince and thought 'oh that looks ever so vaguely like a wizard I like if I squint at him' (just stick with me for a second)
What if the prince's fatal flaw is not vanity, but ceaseless ambition. The ambition to know everything at the cost of even himself. Is approached by a poor old lady who offers him an apprenticeship but she doesn't impress him; her magic is basic, he's seen it all before, he already mastered all of this ages ago.
Syke! The poor old lady is Mystra! She curses him with something as sure to destroy him as his ceaseless ambition if left unchecked: a ball of volatile magic buried deep in his chest where his heart should have been, clawing and tearing at his insides as sure as any beast. It will eat him from the inside if he does not learn how to humble himself, share his knowledge instead of hoarding it like a dragon hoards gold (or something, I don't want to make Mystra the good guy here, but this is the best I have for now. Bear with me).
The prince searches endlessly for a way to quell the volatile magic inside him, but his knowledge does not offer him a solution. He locks himself away in his tower for years and slowly begins resigning himself to his fate. His loyal tressym still ventures out into the world on occasion, searching for a way to slow the decay of her friend's body.
Until one day, a curious sorcerer visits the tower. They've heard tales of the Prince of Waterdeep and the knowledge and magical power he is said to possess and wants to become his apprentice. The villages warn them that the Prince hasn't been seen in forever, and even if he had, he had never taken on an apprentice before, too ambitious and arrogant to share his wisdom and knowledge with anyone else.
But the sorcerer is nothing if not stubborn.
The prince hates them, at first. How dare they do magic so swiftly and easily, how dare they just innately know how to do any of this?! Don't they know that true magical mastery needs to be cultivated over years and years of study, of gathering knowledge, honing your skills?
But the sorcerer shows them that, uhm, no? There's a wildness and majesty in magic that you can't learn from study. Maybe you should try it sometimes. Get your nose out of a book and live a little.
They come together through finding balance because while the sorcerer is happy, their magic is also wild and dangerous. The prince teaches them, at first reluctantly, then out of necessity (the sorcerer nearly blows them up, or agitates the orb, or something), and later happily. Sharing knowledge is fun, actually, and the prince learns there are things he... can't really learn. Things he needs to feel and experience, instead.
Dramatic misunderstanding happens; the prince sends the sorcerer away, knowing that his time is at an end and the orb will soon consume him, but the sorcerer comes back and offers to share the burden, to split the orb between the two of them, or finds some unconventional means of quelling it.
And then they live happily ever after yaaaay

Has anyone heard of a community-driven free-to-play narrative browser game called Blood in Baldur's Gate? It's set 15 years before the start of the Baldur's Gate 3. The reason I ask is because I have a headcanon of my own involving two certain characters. It will contain a spoiler if you haven't seen it. If you don't want to know because you don't want to be spoiled, then don't read.
Spoiler Warning
Ok the in the ending The Dark Urge is the culprit of the serial killings and killed the Detective at the end. What's odd is that the detective name is Tav. Is Tav in Baldur's Gate 3 and Tav in Blood in Baldur's Gate the same person? You know how in Dragon Age: Origins you pick what race and background you want for your Warden and the ones you don't pick end up dead (like if you pick a Mage Warden, non-warden Coulsland, Tabris, Mahariel, Brosca, and Aeducan end up dead), Is it like the same for Tav and The Dark Urge? Like the reason they can't be on the same group together. Like Tav is killed in Blood in Baldur's Gate and The Dark Urge can be the leader in Bladur's Gate 3, but if you pick Tav as a leader then The Dark Urge is killed by Orin (You can find his corpse in Orin's quarters when you get to the Temple of Bhaal.)?
Or do you think both Tavs are not the same person and Tav is a common name?
Headcanon-wise I would think the Amnesia!Dark Urge took Tav's name as his own (Dark Urge as a name is a mouthful and terrible) and maybe the Dream Protector's custom form is based on Detective!Tav's appearance. Because maybe Detective!Tav can stands out to the Dark Urge because they amuse them for trying to catch them persistently. Even after The Dark Urge killed Detective!Tav and lost their memories, echos of the memories of Detective!Tav (like the name and the Dream Detective's custom appearance) live on even if Amnesia!Dark Urge doesn't understand it.
Did the Dark Urge even have a name before? I mean they are basically a clone born from Bhaal's own blood instead of being made through procreation. So no mother, I think. Since they're basically Bhaal's clone, Why did Bhaal choose a Dragonborn as the Dark Urge's race (Dragonborn is The Dark Urge's 'default/Canon' race)?
I'm getting a little off topic... Sorry. Anyway what do you think?

Headcannons for druids in bg3 (and the other bg games)
When they've gotten far enough in their training/ connection to the earth and oak father, druids will end up growing plants/ flowers/thorns/vines around them and on their body of they experience strong enough emotions
Naturally, due to this ability, druids are incredibly fluent in the hidden language of flowers and plants and can thus immediately know how a fellow druid is feeling.
However it's most common to find druids with vines decorating their hair or on tails/ horns compared to flowers or fungi sprouting in their heads.
Nsfw headcannon under the cut:
Sometimes, but not very often, druids have been known to also release pollen/spores when experiencing an incredibly sensational orgasm

Can I request headcanons for Astarion, Gale, Wyll, and Halsin celebrating his gn s/o's birthday please?
Astarion
In truth, Astarion has never celebrated a birthday before; or at least one he can remember in the past 200 years.
He of course knows about birthdays and what people usually do. Celebrations at the local taverns on such occasions were easy to pick off just…not the guest of honor. Astarion felt that would be tacky.
His gift would be something small. Memorable. A ring or necklace his love would always wear to think of him. And seeing them wear it make Astarion feel like he in turn finally has something of his own. Ending with a night of passion which, for once, he truly deeply means. Sweet words and all.
Gale
Gale would be planning for your birthday for months. Either in secret, or an attempt at keeping a secret because he’s just so excited.
He creates a new version of his Starlight incantation. One that is more reminiscent of their current living arrangements, but with hints of the forest where he first professed his love for them. A blend of the old and the new, to remember their past & look forward to the future, he said.
Besides the illusions, Gale makes them a very real dinner of their favorite meal and a cake to rival even some of the finest bakers in the Gate or the Deep. He also gives them a journal, hoping that it will be a comfort to them to write down their thoughts but also one day help with the novel on their adventures he’s going to write.
Wyll
Despite not celebrating many birthdays in recent years, Wyll actually loves them. He is of the opinion that every year, surviving, growing, and moving on in the world, should be celebrated.
The day would be spent more for quality time. Taking a (hopefully) peaceful walk. Maybe a little hunting for dinner, if they can’t find a tavern on the way. Gazing up at the stars as night falls, with Wyll pointing out his favorite constellations that are only visible this time of year (and therefore must be a gift for them from the gods themselves).
His gift would be a small blade he had fashioned for them. Naming it ‘the Protector of the Blade’s Heart’ since they are Wyll’s heart and this will protect them. They also get the finest rendition of ‘happy birthday’ an aspiring bard turned adventure his lungs can handle.
+Ascended!Astarion
Once he finds out when their birthday is, never really having asked before as it was of no interest to him until now, Astarion makes great effort to have it be the most memorable birthday ever. Everyone should be celebrating when his consort graced the universe with their beauty, and they should have a party that would dwarf all others in their past; now that they are at his side.
He throws a grand ball every year. Themed, perfectly executed, nobles & dark affiliates from all over come to pay tribute to them across Faerun.
It wasn’t until year’s later that they realize that the date had slowly changed from their birthday to their ‘new birthday’. The day they became a vampire.
First where there was one party, then two, now there is only one again for the new date.
Astarion insists, at first, that it’s just a fluke of scheduling. Too many meetings with his dark horde or aristocracy to make it work. Suddenly they are traveling during their birthday and can’t do the party.
Eventually, Astarion admits that your original birthday is pointless. “Why do you need to remember that when you have been reborn with this new life, my treasure?” And thus Astarion had successfully changed your birthday to your deathday, as it were.

Astarion's Tent
Has anyone paid attention to how Astarion's tent reflect on his personality?
The exteriour side is clean and elegant. There are pillows, a carpet, an expensive mirror, even a fucking plant (headcanon - Astarion is into gardening). His tent is probably the most well-maintained in the whole camp.
But take a look inside (it's difficult since he blocks the entrance) - it's a mess.
There are empty bottles with blood (as if he is an alcoholic who doesn't bother to take out the garbage). There is no bed (Halsin is also an Elf but he has a bedrol in his tent) - it's just wooden plank, a piece of rag for a blanket and some sorry excuse for a pillow. His tent is a mess like this room who belongs to an addict or a depressed person. It's dirty, full of garbage. And he doesn't have a comfortable place for sleep!
All the good things (new and clean) he has are put out in the front to others to see. When people pass by they see this beautiful picture of a gedonist-magistrate who wants everything to be in order. Dare to look inside - it's a completely different picture.

Gale: *ready to go to some event in the city*
Astarion: *looks him up and down*
Gale: ...What?
Astarion: Those trousers? Really?
Gale: What's wrong with them?
Astarion: Nothing..If you feel great, Gale, then I'm happy for you *judgmental smile*
Gale: *sighs and goes to get changed*
(A few minutes later)
Gale: *comes back out*
Astarion: That shirt?
Gale: Oh for f-
Astarion: *clicks his tongue in irritation* Show me your clothes, let's see what we're working with.. If its complete disaster wardrobe I shall ALLOW you to borrow something of mine.
Gale: You really think I could pull off your style?
Astarion: No..But it'll probably be better than whatever *waves his hand over Gales outfit* THIS is.

Some fluffy head canons I have about the Baldurs Babes
mainly at camp :)
Gale stops tav to lace their boots, sarcastically tutting as he does it.
Karlach holds her hands round someones bowl and cups to warm them if they cool down too much. (Mama K microwave™)
Jaheira and Halsin share nightcaps and chat about the tadpole team. Mainly laughing at their comparative lack of experience - always ends on a 'they're good eggs tho' vibe.
Astarion and Shadowheart rate people's hair to eachother as an injoke, tav hears them mumbling numbers behind them whenever they speak to someone.
Lae'zel asks Gale to explain and pronounce things when no one is around because the 'annoying wizard' won't make fun, he's too eager to teach.
Jaheira has the best bedtime stories but they get Karlach hyped up and she asks a lot of questions till Astarion begs her to be quiet. Wyll takes mental notes for his own storytelling.
Karlach will force a game of 'I Spy' any time there is silence on the road.
Wyll is very good at little random gifts, he just remembers anything someone mentions to him. He's also low-key emotional if you return that kindness, 'you remembered?! 😭'
Halsin stops, kneels and whispers as he points and shows tav interesting plants or animals he spots when walking. 'look there's the mother and her babies' type shit. (He is camp dad(dy) ok)
Wyll teaches Lae'zel fencing. She's too keen though and tries to pin him down. She is not as graceful... But she has fun... chk!
Gale keeps a tiny portrait of Tara on him, you can't tell me modern au Gale's phone wouldn't be full of cat pics.
Astarion watches over the camp at night, he acts like he 'might as well/ I'm the only one lurking in the dark around HERE darlings' but sometimes he secretly gets a little teary looking at his first real friends all together.
Shadowheart writes moody poetry. She would tell Gale but she doesn't care for his taste... Or his possible critiques. If he ever did find her journal though he would be VERY enthused.
Astarion and tav will play with people's wardrobes when looting. Tav loves a funny hat and Astarion will do impressions of who he thinks would wear such god's awful attire.
Gale and Wyll play chess together after dinner some nights. They both say progressively cheesy lines when they take pieces, which is its own game itself at this point.
Halsin would quietly sing or hum to owlbear baby and scratch at night. Little lullabies and he'd probably tuck them in too. OR he'd be big daddy bear and snuggle up, especially when owlbear is scared and misses his mum.
The gang have played 'never have I ever' ONE time and ONE time only. It was a messy night.
... Jaheira was 100% last man standing.
