City Pigeons Bleed Green Part 19
(I know I'm tech on a break this week, but I could use the serotonin.) masterpost
“He understands that I am coming over?” Damian asked as he inspected his pencil case to make sure he had everything he needed. Father would be picking him up from art class to fetch lunch.
“Yep, Danny knows we’re bringing lunch over,” Grayson answered. His thumb swiped idly across his phone.
Damian took a slow breath in through his nose and out through his mouth. He loved Grayson, but it did not mean that the other was not an idiot sometimes. Sometimes family meant loving someone even though they were an idiot, Damian reminded himself.
In an attempt to start again, Damian stayed silent until he was sure that he had all of his supplies in his messenger bag. “I meant, does Danny understand that it is specifically me bringing the food? Does Danny understand who I am?”
“Oh, Dami baby, yeah,” Grayson said, voice softening in a way that made Damian bristle. At least Grayson finally set his phone down. “Jay talked to him about it and is still there at the apartment with Danny now. I’ll over over to give Jason a break and be there when you and Bruce come. Do you want me to double check with Danny before you arrive?”
Damian frowned as he adjusted the strap on his bag.
“Yes,” Damian answered after a pause and when he could meet Grayson’s eyes confidently. “I believe that the redundancy would not go amiss.”
“Okay, yeah, I’ll be sure to double check before you and Bruce get there.”
“Acceptable,” Damian said and let to find Pennyworth for his ride to class.
Doing art calmed him. That knowledge had been a surprise at first. While Damian had, of course, learned about art as part of his cultural and historical training, actually being able to engage in art was was something entirely knew. Something that was available to Damian only because of his Father’s allowance.
No, that was not quite right. Father didn’t allow Damian to do art, Father simply wanted them to be happy and art is what made Damian… perhaps not happy, but at least more at peace.
Peace had been such a rare thing in Damian’s life.
He still didn’t quite know what to do with it.
Annoyingly, class that day didn’t quite manage to tamper the churning in Damian’s gut. He could (and would) ignore the feeling, of course, but that did not mean it wasn’t there.
Or that it didn’t grow as Damian was waiting for Father to pick him up for class.
“You have put in the order we discussed?” Damian asked as he buckled his seatbelt.
“Yes, it should be ready shortly after we get there,” Father answered. “You were out quickly today.”
“Tch,” Damian looked away from his father’s searching gaze and focused on the world outside the window. He hated to have tells, but in a family of detectives it was impossible not to. “If it unlikely to be ready, perhaps we should stop by the Turkish bakery that is near. Surely there are items there that are not too sweet for his diet.”
“That’s a nice idea,” Father agreed with a thoughtful hum. “He may have never had them before so we can get a little selection of what you think he needs to try.”
Damian worked not to physically freeze. That felt suddenly like a great deal of responsibility. Which was silly, it was simply food.
“That is a sound idea,” Damian said instead of trying to face his sudden worry.
It was even more overwhelming in the face of all the options. Damian certainly spent far too long making a selection, but Father doesn’t rush him, so Damian tries to allow himself the time. The food is easily acquired after. Far too quickly that they were in front of the safehouse door. Father rested one hand on the back of Damian’s back, a bracing presence, before he knocked.
“Coming!” Grayson called needlessly through the door a few moments before he it swung open. “Hey guys, come in. It’s all good.”
Damian resisted the urge to nod to that, took a breath, and crossed the threshold.
Danny sat on the couch. The fabled day saving blue bear was clutched in the boy’s lap; clutched too tightly. Damian shot Grayson an accusatory look. Clearly it wasn’t ‘all good’.
Grayson rolled his eyes and took the box of sweets from Damian to take to the kitchen with Father.
Damian was left alone with Danny.
At least it gave Damian time to properly study the other boy. Not blood son. Clone. Better and worse at once— a copy of Father. It was clear how much Danny looked like Bruce, a redundant thought now that they knew Danny was a clone, but it crossed Damian’s mind all the same. It was odd to see the still slightly sunken cheeks and too prominent collar bones on someone that looked so much like Father, so much more like Father than Damian did.
Idly, Damian wondered if Danny would ever reach Father’s stature, what with his past. Damian himself had started to grown into wild shoulders and broad chest that would someday be his body over the last year, but Danny had not.
Danny, at least a year older, was still far too slight.
But older.
The oldest blood.
Would he try to take Damian’s place now? It would only be just, with how poorly Damian had behaved when he first arrived, especially to Drake. And Damian’s brash attacks, Danny would have the right to his. He was oldest…
“Are… are you alright?”
Damian’s head snapped up at Danny’s words. When had he lost his focus?
“I do not know,” Damian said, too honest words tumbling across his tongue without his permission.
He didn’t know.

— ✧ the cake in the back
pairing. choi seungcheol x reader
description. cheol is a regular at your bakery, and it's all because his son loves the banana bread you make—at least that's what he tells himself. it also doesn't hurt that you're cute. and polite. and totally someone he'd like to fuck.
genre. smut, fluff
tags. rich dilf cheol, bakery owner reader, or4l (f receiving), car s3x, kitchen s3x, pet names (angel), cr3ampi3, aprons ... hehe
w/c. 3.8k+
a/n. IGNORE THE TITLE OKAY I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY. look i know it's corny and i literally am writing this on a whim but happy father's day
"soobin's not with you today?" your voice is cheery and gentle when you greet your regular.
mr. choi smiles and shakes his head. "shocking, i know," he laughs in that deep and velvety tone that has you bouncing up and down on the balls of your feet out of pure giddiness.
"a pleasant surprise," you reply, putting on some gloves as mr. choi approaches the counter. it's near closing, and it's around that time of day where people usually don't come in as much, so you've been alone and just cleaning up the space yourself. "what can i get you, mr. choi?"
the handsome man chuckles, flicking his wrist as he pushes some hair back, the reflective surface of his wrist watch (that you definitely don't want to know the price of because it might just make you pass out) glinting under your bakery's warm lights. "thought i told you to stop calling me that. seungcheol is much better considering ..." he searches for the words for a moment. "... we see each other so regularly," he concludes.
"i've got to maintain some level of professionalism, don't you agree, mr. choi?" you tease. "the regular, i'm assuming? two banana breads?"
"you already know it."
grinning, you nod and pull up a box. "how's soobin? i haven't seen him or you in a while. i'm starting to miss my favorite customer."
"i'm sure soobin would be flattered to hear that. he's doing well, i couldn't bring him today since he's got a swimming class this evening," seungcheol explains, pulling out his wallet that's donned in some brand name that looks so expensive you don't even know how to pronounce it. you move down the counter grab some of the bread which is on your far left, and he walks down on the other side to match you, keeping up the conversation.
"ah yes. he seems to be around that age to start learning. better now than never, honestly. my younger brother didn't learn until he was older and it did not seem easy," you say with a giggle, bringing out the tongs to grab two small loaves.
seungcheol nods in agreement. "that, and i'm planning on taking the two of us on a vacation spot in a few months ... not sure where yet, but soobin's been wanting to go to a beach location for ages," he tells you, and your heart swells.
the image of soobin and seungcheol, goofing around on a beach send a warm feeling through your body. it's also maybe an added plus that there's a flicker in your mind of what seungcheol would look like in nothing but swim trunks, skin shining from the water under the beaming sun, dark hair splayed across his forehead.
you wonder what he's hiding beneath that plain, beige t-shirt of his. his arms are somewhat exposed, and from just the little bit of muscle that peeks out and flexes when he moves around, you think you can safely assume he's got much more going on in the places where your eyes can't reach.
realizing he's still right in front of you, you blink down hard as an attempt to pull yourself back into reality, eyes flickering up at the handsome man in front of you.
"s-sounds fun," you say honestly, packing the bread and handing it to him over the counter. in this moment, seungcheol catches sight of the apron you've got on. it's light pink and hugs your figure so nicely, he can't help but comment on it.
"new apron, huh?"
shyly, you look down and nod. you hadn't expected him to notice. "uh, yeah. my employees got it for me as a birthday gift, actually."
seungcheol furrows his brows as he hands you his card so you can charge him. "it's cute. was your birthday, um, recent?"
you nod casually, tapping at your machine for a second before handing back his card, trying to ignore the way his comment first comment has your stomach flipping and flopping around. "yeah, it was a few days ago."
"i'm sorry, i didn't know," he says sincerely, causing you to frown.
"hey, don't worry about it. it's not something i expect my customers to know and—"
"let me treat you to something," seungcheol says abruptly, cutting you off mid-sentence. he realizes after that it's a bit rude, but something about the way you brush him off as just a customer makes him feel the need to prove you wrong.
"i—i'm sorry?" you ask, and for a moment seungcheol almost mistakes your confusion for apprehension, but then he drinks in the way you look up at him curiously, lips slightly parted, and he relaxes.
"you're closing soon, right? let me ... treat you to something," he repeats. "a coffee or something, if you don't mind."
"oh, i can't possibly impose like that, especially when you've got to pick up soobin and—"
"i wouldn't be offering if you were imposing. he's getting picked up by my friend anyways—his son and soobin are going to have a play date and stuff and—" he's rambling, seungcheol knows that, but he can't seem to care. "basically what i'm saying is you don't have to worry about that. seriously. wait—not that i'm forcing you. you can totally say no, i just ..." he sighs, "don't want you to say no because you think you'll be imposing. 'cause you won't be."
when you smile brightly up at him, eyes glittering and laugh cheery, a wave of relief washes over seungcheol. "i—thank you for the reassurance. i'd love to get coffee, but i do have around twenty more minutes before closing and i still have some stuff i need to clean up and i'm not sure if you—"
"i'll wait." he pauses, then adds, "and help."
you're a bit apprehensive at first—a customer helping you out with closing? but you're quick to learn that once cheol has his mind set on something, it isn't the easiest to pull him away from it—and right now cheol is determined to treat you, as he put it.
the next forty-five minutes is spent with you directing seungcheol around your bakery. he's a surprisingly fast learner and before you know it, all the pastries are loaded in the back, the dishes are cleaned, your floors are swept, and suddenly you find yourself outside of your shop with the doors locked, standing next to seungcheol who watches with you a clouded expression.
"thank you so much for the help," you say bashfully. "you're already taking me—" is it too soon to say he's taking you out? oh well, what's done is done. "—taking me out. isn't this a little too much?" you joke, wiggling your brows.
seungcheol chuckles and shakes his head, pulling his eyes out of his pocket and twirling around the chain around his fingers. fuck, he has really nice fingers—
seungcheol's voice interrupts your thoughts "do you have a car or—"
"i usually take the bus home," you explain, rocking back and forth on your feet. cheol frowns, but doesn't say anything. maybe he can fix that, but that's an thought for another time as he points at his suv, all black from top to bottom, with tinted windows and full black wheels.
there's a silence that envelopes the two of you when you slip into the passenger seat, placing your work bag on the floor. seungcheol is already in the driver's seat, key stuck in but not turning on the engine just yet.
you glance between the sight of your bakery out the window, and back at seungcheol who already has his gaze on you.
"you're going to have to be transparent with me for a second," seungcheol says seriously, locking eyes with you as you shift your body to face him. "and i want to make sure we're on the same page about ..." about whatever is going to go down.
you bite down on your lip, and even though cheol knows you're doing it absentmindedly, he can't help but feel his pants grow tighter at the way it puffs up when your teeth release it.
"i ... i think you know we're on the same page," you reply shyly, shifting a little in your seat to try and make up for the silence.
"you want this?" cheol clarifies, one eyebrow cocked up.
a feeling of pride swelters in his chest when you reply without hesitation, "i do." and then a bit more quietly, you add, "i, uh, have for a while."
now cheol usually likes to tread lightly; he doesn't want to mess around and is great at keeping his dick in his pants but there's just something about the way you look at him so cutely.
you look at him like you know all the nasty things he wants to do to you, and you bat your eyelashes like you don't care—like you'd let him. like you'd take every damn thing he gives you without a single word of complaint, and it's driving him crazy.
again, cheol is great at keeping his foot on the brake, but then you swipe your tongue over your bottom lip and suddenly he's slamming his feet on the accelerator.
wrapping one hand around your neck, he pulls you to smash his lips onto yours. it's a gentle kiss—tentative, as if you're both testing the waters. pressing against each other as your faces tilt, your hands find purchase in his hair when cheol laps at your bottom lip. that's where it all takes off.
the kiss turns from innocent and sweet to sloppy and fast within a matter of moments and suddenly you're grappling at his arms, his hands are searching for your tits, gripping at the flesh and before you know it, you're being thrown to the back.
seungcheol nearly slams your back down onto the seats, your loose shirt riding up your stomach in the process to reveal the lower half of your bra. "fuck," he mutters, low and under his breath in that raspy sort of way that has your clothes feeling too hot and your cunt too empty.
"seungcheol," you moan, unbuttoning your work pants and shoving them off your legs, along with your panties in one go, leaving your wet cunt open and bare. he doesn't take a moment to shuffle back and bring his face down to be level with your core, eyes looking up at you with some kind of mischievous glint that has your stomach churning.
with a bit of hesitance, he places a soft kiss over your clit, watching you carefully to see how you react. when you whine and arch your back against the leather seats, he figures that that reaction is good enough, and this time lets his tongue out, swiping it against the throbbing bad.
"sweet," he murmurs, lips moving down against your folds. the movement and vibrations send sparks through your core and up your spine, and you shudder at the feeling as one hand flies down to grip at his dark hair. "so fuckin' sweet," he repeats before diving his tongue back, swiping it up and down between your folds.
"ah-h-h, seungcheol—fuck," you whimper when he presses the wet muscle flat against your drooling hole, continue to circle around and tease you. fervently, cheol—to put it bluntly—makes out with your cunt. digging his face in between your legs, his nose brushes against your clit when he adjusts his neck to lap and suck against unexplored areas, leaving you mewling into your arm as you try and sit still for him.
there isn't much room in the back, and to be frank, your limbs are in an uncomfy position, and you can only imagine the strain cheol is feeling, bent over and legs in an awkward position when he holds your hips and pulls you closer so he can smother himself in your pussy. he doesn't seem to mind though, lifting his head every few moments to grin up at you with hazy eyes, glossy lips, and a drenched chin, off-handedly commenting something dirty about how nice you taste, how he could live between your legs, how you're driving him fucking insane.
it's the meticulous flicks of his tongue, the deep and guttural words that escape his honeyed lips, and the girth of his fingers when he finally plunges them into your warm cunt that bring you to your edge. it only takes a few rubs and curls against your aching walls before your shaking, crying out his name as you thrust upwards, holding his face down so you can grind against him.
and he whispers the words, "cum angel," so sweetly—a complete contrast to the way his tongue is scooping up all your arousal—and so you cum like you never have before.
fuck my life, you think to yourself as the waves of your orgasm finally hit you. cheol rides you through the high, and he does it good. so good, you're left breathless when he pulls away from your cunt with a dopey smile and feather light kisses all up your thigh and stomach, and then finally your lips.
"my place?" he asks, stroking your cheek gingerly as you blink up at him. and when you nod hazily, he pats you lightly, helping you back to the passenger seat before helping you slip on your panties and pants back on. this time, when cheol gets back into the driver's seat, he places one hand on the steering wheel, the other secure over your still quivering thigh. "relax angel," he murmurs, and you can't help but burn at the gentle words. this can't be the same man who ate you out like you were damn piece of cake just moments earlier.
the drive is quiet, but not uncomfortable. if anything, you're fucking enthralled. when he stops at a red light, cheol looks over at you and when your eyes meet you can't help but giggle together until you're cheeky, grinning mess by the time you pull up to his house.
parking in the lavish drive way, cheol tells you to hold on for a second, getting out of the car and making his way to your side, to open the door for you.
"i didn't know that this what you meant by coffee," you giggle, stumbling out next to him and letting him wrap an arm around your waist to help you up the steps to his house. it's a beautiful estate, really, but you aren't too focused on admiring the luxury right now—you're much more interested in what's to come between you and cheol.
and you're about to find out soon enough because as soon as he opens the door, lets you in, and closes it behind you, cheol's hands are all over you. with your eyes closed as you two engage in a hot mess of tongue and teeth and lips, your rocking back and forth in his arms, his legs leading to you to some place you're not really aware of until you feel something hard and cool press against your lower back.
"wear the apron," cheol tells you firmly when he pulls away, pressing you against his cold stone counter. you knit your eyebrows together in confusion, but let your bag that's still on your shoulder drop onto the counter, taking out your apron without hesitation.
it's now that you realize you're in his kitchen. if you weren't in such a ... intimate setting, you would have admired the design, the appliances—all of it. perhaps you'd even wonder what it's like to bake in here, cooking up soobin's favorite banana bread with cheol by your side and—you save those thoughts for another time.
"w-why?" you murmur in response to cheol's request, as you pull the apron out, pulling the pink strap over your head, tying it behind your back as the ache between your legs begins to creep up on you again. cheol's big hands find purchase on your hips again, holding down you down with a firm grip as he turns you around and pushes your back down.
"'cause," he grunts out, and you nearly moan when you hear the sound of his belt unbuckling and fabric rustling as he shoves his pants and boxers down. it hardly takes a second before his hands are at the hem of your own pants, yanking them down and giving you a moment so you can step out of them.
you wiggle your ass around for a second, turning to look back at cheol with pleading eyes and ask him to just fuck you already, but then he locks a hand under your jaw, cupping the underside of your face and pulling it up so your back arches into his touch. you can feel the angry, hard head of his cock prodding against the plush of your ass and the feeling of him brush against you has you whining.
"patience, angel," he coos, pressing his face next to the shell of your ear and placing a soft kiss on the crown of your head before easing his way through your folds. you can't even see him but you just know he's big—fat length rubbing up and down your folds as he coats himself in your arousal as you whisper incoherent pleas for more.
"cheolie ..." the nickname slips from your lips with out as much as a brainless thought but it has cheol's head rewiring.
"fuck, say that again," he demands, snaking the hand that's not holding your face down your back until it's gripping the cute little bow of your apron.
you hum as you feel him tugging at the fabric, jerking your body backwards and pushing your cunt harder against him, the fat tip brushing against your sensitive clit. "cheolie!" you mewl again, and you're really not expecting the way he jams his cock into you in one go. not that you're complaining of course.
'cause how could you complain when he's stretching you out so nicely? when his cock is so long it's already hitting kissing your cervix and hitting spots inside of you that you didn't even think were possible to reach? when he's so deep that his balls are pressed against your burning core and his pelvis is flush against your ass?
"you feel so good," cheol moans, and you squeeze around him even tighter when you hear the low, gruff words escape his lips. "this pussy was made for me, huh?" he breathes out with a chuckle, as he pulls out halfway before pulling the strings of the apron so your core meets him halfway, slamming his cock back into you.
"oh god," you moan loudly, eyes rolling to the back of your head as you try and swivel your hips against his for some added stimulation.
"gonna think abt this every time you wear this, won't you?" cheol grunts, twisting his fingers around the bow in the back so he hold onto it tighter.
the thought runs through your fucked out mind for a moment; you're gonna have to walk into work tomorrow, and if you're wearing the apron, you'll have to sit through the day knowing that you had cheol's cock buried inside of you under this same fabric—if you aren't wearing it, you'll have to come up with an excuse for your lovely employees as to why you're not wearing their precious gift.
which option you're going to go with, though, is swept from your mind when cheol sticks a finger into your mouth and presses down on your tongue as he fucks into you harder.
what a moment, you think. getting railed on the counter of a man who you always thought was out of reach. your insides feel like jelly as his fat cock runs against your walls, veins and curves pressing and dragging through you as heat envelopes you.
and as his thrusts increase in force, you start to realize that cheol is nothing if he is not relentless. just when you think you've whimpered his name so much you think you might lose your voice, he's ramming into you harder, punching the air right out of your lungs as broken moans and squeaks that have him losing his damn mind.
"what a fuckin' angel, creaming me cock so well," he praises, yanking you back and forth at an unforgiving pace to match his calculated thrusts. you feel like you're being thrown around in the best way possible, body throttling every time his hips crash against your ass and cause you to lurch forward and arch your back even more.
and as he goes on, the rub of his cock against you, the press of his balls against your clit, his hand in your mouth and pressing against your jaw—it's all so much and so fast and so good until you're shaking and thrashing in his hold.
"mmf—cheolie, wan' cum," you choke out when you feel his cock twitch inside of you.
"yeah? my pretty angel's gon' cum on my cock?"
"yeah-huh," you answer dazedly, body jerking back and forth as his hips snap more haphazardly now, but still hitting that one sweet spot that has your vision going bleary. "can i cum, cheolie?"
and you ask him so fucking sweetly, he can't hold it in anymore, dazedly grunting out something along the lines of, "yeah, angel, cum f'me," before he spills his hot seed inside of you. the sensation of his cum painting your walls white is the final thing you need before joining cheol with your own orgasm, clenching around him so tightly that it has him gripping down on your hips in a way that you know you'll have bruises tomorrow. not that you mind.
how could you, when you just had the most mind blowing orgasm of your life with the hottest guy you've ever met. as you twitch against him, cheol finally pulls himself out and you whimper lowly at the feeling of being empty even though you know you'd probably pass out if you had his dick in you any longer.
gently, cheol strokes your back and caresses the taught muscles, untying the apron that quite literally had you in a chokehold, letting it fall from your figure. "'m sorry," he murmurs into your neck, placing a soft kiss on your shoulder, "was i too rough?"
"n-no," you say, face burning when you realize just how croaky and fucked your voice has become. cheol only laughs at you as you dig your face into your hands as you mumble bashfully, "it was ... great." you're slightly embarrassed, yes, but when you catch the look of endearment on cheol's face, you start to think twice.
as you both attempt to even out your breaths, cheol looks down at you panting against the counter, cum spilling out of your fluttering folds. vaguely, he wonders what you'll look like in a bikini in the bahamas. huh, he thinks, maybe he'll have to ask soobin if it's okay to bring an extra certain someone with them on their vacation this summer.
a/n. how i managed to get this out in one day i don't know. the cheol effect i guess. anyways, hope u enjoyed!

First Day
Part 2
Part 1
Alastor and Child Reader
Warning! ⚠
⚠ children (lol), reader being a menace ☺, blood/gore, ALL CAPS Bold red Italics = SOUND AFFECTS, red italics= Alastor's thoughts, fake crying, food mention(desserts), mention of murder, mention of kidnapping, mention of torture, murder of test demon ⚠
You saw the school bus and it was filled with shouts and screeches of other demon children. Making sure you of the item in your pocket, you readied yourself to begin the plan.
Stage one: Have some control over the school bus.
The door opened and you hop up the steps, the screams even louder now that you were inside.
It was absolutely unhinged.
I can do better. You thought, taking a quick glance to find a seat.
"Hurry up and sit down brat.", the bus driver yelled.
"Quiet before I cut you open.", you said to them without missing a beat and walked towards the back of the bus.
You were calm as the other children were acting like drug addicts.
One was bold enough to try and trip you with their leg out. Looking at them, you see that they have a cocky grin.
"Can you please move your leg? Its in the way.", you ask.
"No. Just go over it.", they laughed.
With a shrug you do just that, they try and lift their leg up higher to trip you but you jump at the last second and aim for their knee.
SNAP
They scream like bloody murder as they cry, grabbing the attention of the other children. All eyes are on you and the broken leg that's spewing out blood.
"I did ask nicely.", you say before continuing on your way to the open seat in the back.
Finally, you arrive at the school and find your classroom, now you were standing next to the teacher as your new classmates make a mess with paper planes and other items.
"Everyone SHUT UP! This is the new student.", the teacher Ms. Mayberry introduces you to the class. "Go on and say hello, then take the empty seat over in the middle."
You nod and smile as you face the children.
"Don't cross me or you might end up like Mikey!", you say cheerfully and go sit down.
Stage two: Assert dominance and be kind to those who are kind to you. *weed out any snakes*
.
Alastor got ready to pick up his little demon.
I wonder if they had fun. He thought before leaving the hotel.
On his way over, he picked up some pastries from their favorite bakery. Now the Radio Demon was just a few feet away from the gate that had a few lingering children, that's where he saw his little one waiting with the teacher who was smoking.
They spotted him and lit up.
"Alastor!", they cheered before running up.
The teacher had backed up a bit after noticing who he was.
"Good afternoon mon petite!", he said and picked them up. "Did you have a good time? Hm? Were there any pests?"
"I took care of it! But all of them went home alive.", they replied as he began walking back to the hotel. "Bye Ms. Mayberry!", they waved to their teacher.
They had started to tell him what happened on the school bus as they got closer to the hotel, that is when the deer demon reminded them to look sad.
"I don't think I can keep a straight face but I can still cry like I'm sad.", the little demon said. "I know what to do."
They hid their face on his shoulder and started shaking their shoulders, making convincing sniffles and sobs.
Alastor opened the hotel doors, finding the princess and her partner, one of them holding a cupcake.
"Oh no, what happened?", Charlie asked after noticing the little demon's shaking shoulders.
"There was a bully that harassed them today.", he answered and made his way over to the stairs, lifting up the bakery box. "I've already bought them sweets to cheer them up but you can leave the cupcake for dessert after dinner."
Once in the hotel room, he sets them down and put the box of sweets on the small table near the door.
"Wash your hands before getting your sweets.", he says before helping them take off their school bag.
"Ok!", they nod and run over to the bathroom.
Taking the box, the demon in red snaps his fingers to conjure some plates on the coffee table. He sets up the table before putting the pastries on the plates. Making sure to get their favorite cup for their drink.
They went to their room before coming back out with no coat and taking a seat on the couch.
"Now, tell me all about your day.", he said giving them a plate with a slice of cranberry pomegranate curd tart. "What kind of drink would you like with your sweets?"
They ask for their favorite drink and proceed to tell him about what happened after the "tripping" incident.
The deer demon prepares a cup of coffee while getting their drink.
"Some of the kids tried to act tough and pick a fight with me during reeses. The supervisors don't care if there's a fight as long as no one gets killed.", they said before taking a bite of the tart. "I broke a lot of bones today.", they add.
"Don't speak while chewing dear.", Alastor hands them a napkin, placing their cup next to their plate before sitting down.
They go into detail of all the injuries they caused with a wide smile. Telling him that they want to learn more tactics of intimidation to scare some of the staff.
"Finish your homework and I'll take you out so you can have hands on experience.", he says and sips his coffee.
"Really!?", they ask excited.
"Of course! Its the best way to learn."
After dinner (and their desert), they headed out and found a demon to test on.
"The best way to intimidate someone is through fear. Give them something that will always remind others not to try anything. Breaking the boy's leg was good, but remember that it is on school grounds that you cannot kill.", he says as both of them watch the test demon scream as they are being taken apart limb by limb. "Of course you have my permission to kill anyone that tries to kill or kidnap you. Or other terrible things.."
"Can I torture them a little bit?", they ask.
"Yes, but don't let your guard down.", the Radio Demon says, using the tendrils to rip the test demon's head off. "Remember mon petite, prey can bite back."
On the way back to the hotel, he got them a new plush, a small mouse to attach to their school bag.
"Mr. Squeaks."
Tehe.
~Seline, the person.

physics and english teacher love affair
pairing: ps5!peter parker x fem!reader
wc: 1.5k
warnings: none. squeaky clean, just happy fluff
summary: those two teachers that students are always interested in their relationship status.
A/N: guess this could be for any spidey, but i’m just really falling for ps5 peter and there’s like a hand full of fics for him. not fair!
masterlist / peter parker
working at the same high school with your boyfriend is harder than it looks. the two of you try to stay professional during schooling hours, not needing the staff or students in your business. but hearing miles tell you and peter, “people are very invested in your interactions,” made both of you realize you weren’t very good at keeping a low profile.
-
instance 1
“okay…jaime! your take on the dream sequence. what does it tell you?” looking to the male student near the back. he was dozing off a bit earlier so this was a wake-up call.
he floundered a bit, “uh, uh…the dream sequence…it’s a- a dream?” light giggles filled the classroom at the foolish answer.
a gentle sigh from your lips, “yes, jaime. but do you see any significance to our story?” being patient with him as he flipped through his book and packet, “uh…”
and before he could joke or stall, your door opened drawing all eyes to the popping in head. “sorry for interrupting,” peter apologized to the students then you. “
a wavering smile. “it’s fine. jaime,” the boy looked startled, “a few minutes to find an answer and then give me something. please.”
you looked over to peter again and waved him in. the door closed with a soft clink behind him, his steps thudded lightly against the linoleum tile. both of you exchanged delicate smiles as peter sat on the edge of your desk.
“what’s the occasion?” whispering low since his heightened hearing will pick you up. both of you tried to stay away from each other’s classrooms as much as possible, but the two of you were magnets, always attracted to each other.
peter shrugged, “nothing, just thought you would like to see me.” a playful tilt of his head.
a twitch of your lip, “and i thought we would only do that during our planning period.” subtly knocking your knuckles against his thigh. peter flashed a smile, “well, i also got you something, from our favorite bakery. if you want-“
“yes!” voice an excited yelp. the kids chattering came to a stop at your raised cry. you cleared your throat, “sorry. a few more minutes.” and they happily returned their gossip.
peter chuckled, “a little hurt you had more of a reaction for pastries than your awesome boyfriend.” you rolled your eyes, “well at work you’re my friendly co-worker.” “ew, gross.”
teeth biting into your bottom lip to stop a gleeful smile you made grabby hands for your treats. peter teasingly rolled his eyes while reaching into his backpack for your present. you had to hold your squeal in at the muffin and donut, mouth salivating at the sweet smell.
“i should head out. don’t want to stop your lesson.” making a move off your desk. you stopped him with a hand wrapped on his wrist, “wait, lean forward a bit.”
peter furrowed his brows as you urged him close, you ignored the dozen of eyes watching you both.
grabbing your lesson plan packet you covered both lower halves from curious eyes. “i love you. thank you for the sweets.” then blew peter an air kiss.
his cheeks pinked quickly and you cooed internally. peter sent a kiss back before swinging his bag onto his shoulders and waving goodbye to your students.
when he left the room you clapped your hands to signal order back. “okay, jaime. figure out an answer?”
“is mr. parker your boyfriend?” a girl, ashley, blurted out.
the class froze along with you. you took a moment to take stock of the abruptness before replying, “it’s rude to blurt out questions and second, no he isn’t.” heart cracking a little at the white lie, “but that’s none of your business, ashley.”
-
instance 2
the day before christmas break peter decided to play the class home alone. kids either watching the movie, chatting with friends, playing card games from out of nowhere, or just napping away the last hour of the school day.
peter and miles were sat at his desk, talking about the latest on spider-man. miles was in the middle of talking about a gang bust from the other night when multiple students said, “hi, mrs. l/n.”
peter and miles stopped talking to see you enter the classroom, waving to a few students who had seen you earlier in the day.
you walk up to peter’s cluttered desk, “hi boys.” stealing his rolling stool so you can join them. in the dark peter loop his right arm behind your back before pulling you in close, lips spreading into wide love struck smiles.
“how’s my best girl?”
a content sigh, “so excited for a week off. can’t wait to do coupley holiday stuff and also celebrate hanukkah with you. miles,” turning to the junior, “any plans with your time off?”
miles talked about how he was gonna visit hailey’s family for the first time. “really nervous, don’t want to mess things up.”
“you won’t, they’ll love you.” washing away his worries as peter’s fingers drummed on your waist.
“your great with parents and plus you’ve gotten a lot better at your asl. earn you brownie points.” peter affectionately punched miles’s bicep.
“what was may’s first impression on you?” miles turned the conversation around.
you perked up as the memory flashes to mind. you glance at peter and he has a look on his face, already knowing what you’ll say.
“well may opened the door and as i was introducing myself she interrupted with “oh! you must be y/n. peter can’t keep your name out his mouth for longer than two minutes. i’ve timed it. that boy is deeply in love with you, just don’t tell him i’ve said that, he’ll be a blubbering mess.” and i didn’t tell him until he said i love you first.”
peter tucked his chin to his chest hiding away his flushed cheeks while miles covered his laughter.
you carded fingers through peter’s growing hair before leaving a peck on his cheek. “i’m gonna pack my things then come back. enjoy your break miles.”
-
instance 3
“mr. parker and ms. l/n are definitely a thing.”
miles heard the charter from across the lunch room at the mention of your names. he tried to look distracted with his homework to keep listening in.
“and what’s your proof this time?” a boy asked the girl.
“well one, i saw them leaving together when i had to stay late to help mr. johnson. they were laughing and smiling in that love sick way. also could totally tell they wanted to hold hands when they kept bumping them. and second, i saw them at the subway station-“
“so you stalked them?” a girl interrupted the retelling.
the storyteller sighed, “no i just happen to take the subway, like most of new york does. anyway, i don’t take the same train as them but i walked past them and they were now holding hands and then…” taking a dramatic pause before almost squealing, “they kissed!”
a bunch of girls joined in the yells and a few boys were like “holy shit!” and others like “whatever.”
miles stopped listening and just smirked down at his homework ready to tell peter this news.
-
instance 4 the final
you know the nosey students are gonna have a field day if they spot the new jewelry on your finger. a huge milestone has been made on a simple thursday during spring break.
“okay class. welcome back! if anyone wants to share a quick story about their break just raise your hand.” a couple shot up at lightning speed and then some more slowly.
you squint your eyes while humming, “emma. what did you do?” she went on a quick spiel about visiting her mother’s family in atlanta, also how she managed to snag tickets for a spa concert at the box office.
“girl i’m jealous. i wish i could see sza. okay… jaden! what’d you do?” he said he just stayed in the city and worked, hung out with his friends on his days off.
“already getting a taste of adult life. well i’m glad you made time to relax. uh final one is… ashley. how did you spend your break?”
“oh, nothing special. i just have a question for you and the new ring on your finger.” a sneaky smile appeared, exactly what you wanted. she’s been the most observant on your relationship.
“you may ask.” folding your hands so the stone reflected a bit of light.
“did mr. parker propose? is he your fiancé now?” and most of the girls in the room were practically vibrating in anticipation.
you smiled down the ring, fiddling with the band. you looked up and said calmly, “yes. mr. parker is my fiancé.”
and you could bet that peter heard all the commotion of your room from down the hall, already preparing for nosey teens to ask him a similar question.
both of you were just glad to proudly say the other was yours.
turns out working at the same high school as your fiancé isn’t gonna be so bad after all.

Toshinori x reader - revelations
Walking into the teachers lounge, you stretch a little as you set your coffee cup and bag down on your desk, music from your headphones filling your ears as you hummed along.
You were usually the first one in, so you didn’t feel the need to look around, which meant you didn’t notice Toshinori sat at his own desk.
But he noticed you.
He noticed you the moment you walked through the door, he wore a small smile on his face as he looked at you.
He didn’t attempt to talk to you, he knew you wouldn’t be able to hear him over your headphones, so he went back to his work, contently listening as your humming filled the teachers lounge.
Sitting down you began to sort some lesson plans for the day, organising a few things while sipping on your coffee.
Toshinori kept sneaking glances at you, even when the other teachers came in, but he tried to make it less obvious than when it was just you two, and thankfully for him nobody seemed to notice.
Midnight walked over, standing bending your as she placed her hands on your headphones, pulling them down to your neck and tilted your head back with a grin.
“Did you bring them?!” She asked excitedly.
You laughed a little and reached into your bag, pulling out a bag from a small bakery.
“Of course I did! I’d never forget!”
Midnight grinned and excitedly took the baked goods, leaving you one on a napkin on your desk before distributing them among the other teachers.
You happily ate at the pastry as you finished off your morning preparations before rushing to you classroom to beat the morning rush of students that would come through any minute.
A few minutes later there was a small knock on your door, and it was opened and closed as Toshinori walked in, holding your coffee cup in his hand.
“You forgot this.” He smiled.
You sighed thankfully and take the cup from him, taking a sip of it, noticing it was fresh coffee and not the stale coffee you had been drinking.
Setting the cup down, you smiled even more at him.
“Thank you.”
Toshinori offered you a shy smile, and rubbed the back of his head.
“If you need a refill just let me know and I’ll happily sort it for you.”
He gave you a slight grin before leaving your classroom just as students started to come in for the start of the day.
Your first two classes go by pretty quickly, and then things start to drag, you had ran out of coffee, your students were sitting a test and you were marking papers.
Sitting at your desk, you flicking between the grace sheet next to you and the pile of test papers as you quietly worked, occasionally checking your students were okay and helping those with their hands up.
The sound of your classroom door opening was near enough non existent, you only noticed it because size of your quirk, and you flicked your gaze up.
You immediately smiled as you watched Toshinori come over with a cup of coffee for you, quietly setting it down on your desk as he brought a chair over to sit next to you.
A few students glanced up but went back to their tests.
“Thank you…” you whisper.
He smiled.
“You’re welcome, I thought it was suspicious you hadn’t come to get more.” He replied softly.
This made you laugh a little, and you gestured to your work.
“I’ve been trying to finish this so I don’t have to take it home…”
Toshinori chuckled, taking a stack of the papers, moving the grade sheet between you both and he picked up a pen.
“Well, I’ve got nothing to do until this afternoon, so I’m happy to help you with it.”
You grin a little at him, taking a sip of the fresh coffee that he had thankfully delivered for you.
“You’re an absolute life saver Toshi.”
As you go back to grading some test papers, he smiled a little to himself and starts grading the ones that he head taken.
He occasionally glanced at you, his eyes sometimes lingering for too long, but he couldn’t help it.
He was captivated by you, the way you sit there with your chin resting in the palm of your hand as you lazily graded the test papers.
How you also kept a watchful eye over your students and were ready to help in an instant.
How the light filtered through the windows, making your eyes seem a lot brighter than they normally were.
He just couldn’t help but steal glances at you.
As lunch came, you were given more tests to grade while students went to enjoy their lunches, and you stretched a little as you stood up, cleaning up the classroom.
Toshinori carried on grading the papers, trying to keep on top of them all, and you walked back over, bringing out some food from your desk, setting it between the pair of you.
Reaching into one of your desk draws, you pulling out two sets of disposable chopsticks and handed him one of them as you unwrapped yours.
“What’s this for?” Toshinori asked.
You smiled brightly at him.
“Lunch dummy, I’ve got more than enough for just me, so go ahead and have some.”
His face lit up as he looked at what you had prepared, and he tried a little bit of it.
“Wow, this is amazing, honestly you had me convinced you lived of convenience store snacks.” He chuckled.
You laughed a little, rubbing the back of your head as you take some of the teriyaki noodles.
“I’m just really lazy, but I was up early this morning.”
He chuckled at that, sending you a soft smile.
“Well, I’m glad to see that you can in fact cook, and amazingly at that.”
You grinned a little bit.
Toshinori carried on smiling softly at you, his eyes shining brightly with life and happiness.
Giving him an another even brighter grin, you went back to eating and grading papers.
Both of you were unaware of a few other teachers stood at the door plotting, so, when you got a message asking if you could help sort some stuff in one of the classrooms after school, you never thought twice about it.
Padding into the room, you set your stuff on the empty desk at the front and look around, finding Toshinori looking at his phone.
“Hey, did you get asked to help too?”
He nodded his head.
“Yes, but Hizashi hasn’t told me what I’m helping with.”
You sigh.
“Yeah, Midnight hasn’t told me either, just told me to come help with something.”
Wondering over, you sat on a desk next to him and swung your legs a little which made him chuckle slightly.
Toshinori sat down on the desk opposite to you, being much taller his feet still reached the ground, but he still made an attempt to swing his legs like you were doing.
As the door was thrown open, you both looked over to see Midnight and Hizashi grinning while Aizawa looked bored.
“You two like each other!” Midnight and Hizashi yelled.
“I told them not to do this.” Aizawa grumbled.
The door was slammed shut, and you immediately turned your gaze to Toshinori who was looking away, his face buried in his hand.
A few moment of tense silence passed, and taking a small breath, you look away awkwardly.
“Is… it true…?” You asked quietly.
“I.. well… you see…” he stutters.
You sit there patiently waiting for his response, he was looking down at the ground nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
“I..”
He trails off again and sighs heavily.
“It is…” he whispers.
He doesn’t dare look up to meet your gaze, but when you suddenly step over, wrapping your arms around his shoulders he’s startled out of his head.
“(Y/N)…?” He whispers confused.
You smile, resting your chin on his shoulder, and he slowly returns the embrace, he was still giving the space to back out at any point if you wanted too.
He was smiling brightly though, from ear to ear.
“I like you too Toshi…” you whisper.
That was enough for him to tighten the embrace, holding you closely against him as he lets out a relieved laugh, resting his head against yours.
“There’s no words to express how glad I am to hear that…” he whispers.
You grin even more.
He pressing a shy kiss to the side of your head.
“So… does this mean I can ask you on a date…?” He asks.
“I’d be a little disappointed if you didn’t.” You laughed.
He laughed again, holding you a little tighter in his arms, both of you just enjoying the moment of revelation that had just happened

Warnings: none
Thank god that’s over.
You grabbed your bag and basically ran out of the classroom as fast as your legs could take you, not wanting to spend another second thinking about that dreaded class you just attended. Between all of the projects and homework you’d been assigned, finding time to do practically anything outside of that class was near impossible. Not to mention, the subject was definitely not an easy one to learn.
Safe to say, you desperately needed a break.
Your annoyance continued to grow as you felt your cellphone ring incessantly from inside your bag. You didn’t even bother checking the caller ID before clicking the small green phone icon.
“Yes?” you answered with an aggressive tone, wondering who needed to contact you so urgently that they were calling every five seconds.
“How’s my favorite student doing?” came a cheerful response from the other end, clearly unbothered by your irritation.
“Oh! It’s you, Satoru,” you breathed out, your mood already starting to lift at the sound of your boyfriend’s voice. “I’ve been better. This class is exhausting me.”
“I can tell with the way you were ready to jump through the phone and murder me,” he said, making you laugh for the first time all day.
“Yeah, sorry about that. Everything gets on my nerves easily after sitting through those lectures.”
“I have just the thing to make you feel better,” he told you. “Come over to my apartment as soon as you can and I’ll meet you there.”
“Are you sure? I know you’re busy teaching today.”
“Eh, I’ll let the kids out early. Give ‘em a group project to work on, I know how much you scholarly types love those.”
“You’re evil, but I’m grateful you would burden your loving pupils with something like that for me.”
“Anything for you, y/n,” said Gojo. “See you soon, okay?”
“Okay,” you nodded, hanging up and letting out a long sigh of relief. On your way over to Gojo’s place, you decided to surprise him with something sweet to show your appreciation for him. You stopped by your favorite bakery and ordered a few of their pastries, making sure to get plenty of the super sweet ones for Satoru. Satisfied with the results of your shopping, you made your way to Gojo’s with an extra pep in your step that definitely wasn’t present earlier.
You rang the doorbell to Gojo’s apartment, brimming with excitement. Yours and Gojo’s schedules had been hectic lately and finally being able to spend time with him was making you giddy. When the door opened, you were surprised by the appearance of his bright blue eyes that met your own.
“No blindfold today?” you questioned, stepping inside as he closed the door behind you.
“I wanted to see you with all of my eyes,” he said, a lazy grin on his face as you leaned in and gave him a gentle kiss.
“Have you always been such a hopeless romantic or is it because we’ve been apart for too long that it’s messing with your head?” you teased, placing the pastry box on his kitchen counter.
“It’s been too long since you’ve been here, I’ve missed you,” he declared. You would’ve found the sentiment to be swoon worthy if he was actually talking to you instead of the pastries.
“Should I leave and give you two some alone time?”
“No, don’t leave, I was joking,” Gojo whined, powdered sugar from the desserts covering his lips. You couldn’t help the laugh that slipped through, filling his apartment with the sound of your joy. Gojo’s eyes softened as he watched your face crinkle in delight; he had missed this lighthearted side of you. Your happiness had been affected by bad days and hard classes for much too long and it bothered him that there was nothing he could do to help you. However, he would never stop trying to keep a smile on your face, even if only for an afternoon.
“So what was it that you had for me?” you questioned, referring to what he said during your phone call.
“Right! Are you ready? Close your eyes,” he said, and you did so. “Okay. Open!”
You opened your eyes and saw… him standing in the exact same spot with the exact large smile he had before you closed your eyes.
“It’s me!” he said excitedly. You were confused for a split second until you realized what he said.
“You’re all I could ever hope for,” you said earnestly, throwing yourself into his tall frame and wrapping your arms tightly around him. Gojo was taken aback by your sudden movement but he wasn’t anything less than ecstatic; he was just happy you weren’t frustrated with his lack of an actual surprise.
“C’mon, let’s go comfortable.”
Gojo felt you pull away from him and he knelt down. “Hop on.”
You looked at him with a cocked eyebrow.
“For a piggy back ride! It’ll be fun!” he said, trying to convince you.
“I will literally hit my head on the ceiling if I hop on your back.”
He brought his lips into a pout. “I promise I’ll duck as low as I can.”
“Fine. But if you knock me out on one of the doorframes, please let me sleep because I need the rest.”
He gave you a thumbs up. “Will do!”
You rolled your eyes playfully and climbed onto his back. The journey to his bedroom was short lived but plenty of fun, just as he said it would be, and little by little your stress was melting away. You landed on the bed from Gojo’s back with a soft thud and you eagerly began to snuggle in the warm sheets. Gojo climbed in the bed as well and pulled you in close to him, your head resting perfectly under his chin as he pressed his chest against your back. The steady rhythm of his heart was having a calming effect on you and you relished in the peaceful atmosphere.
“You wanna talk about everything that’s bothering you?” he wondered, sounding surprisingly serious for once. “It’s not good to hold it in.”
You agreed and began to vent all of your pent up frustrations about your difficult class and life in general. The whole time, Gojo was intently listening and the feeling of his chest vibrating with every “hm” and “mhm” of acknowledgement was helping you stay grounded and not become overwhelmed by your emotions. When you said things he found particularly sad, his hold on you became subconsciously tighter.
“I’m sorry you’re dealing with all of that,” he murmured when you were done talking, pressing a kiss onto the top of your head. “I hate seeing you having to go through difficult things and knowing I can’t stop any of them.”
You turned around to face Gojo, taking hold of his hands in yours. “It’s the same feeling I have toward you, Satoru. You go through impossible situations and I feel bad that I can only offer advice instead of actively doing something about it.”
Silence permeated the air for a little bit as you two got lost in thought.
“We make quite the pair, don’t we?” Gojo eventually said.
“We do.” You brought a hand up and lovingly ran it through his fluffy white hair. “Thank you for inviting me over. This is exactly what I needed to feel better.”
“I could get your professor fired if you want. That might make you feel even better.”
You immediately halted. “What? No, please don’t do that.”
He shrugged. “Why not? Throw enough money at a school and even their most tenured teacher can disappear by the next week. It doesn’t seem like you’re learning anything anyway.”
You shook your head and chuckled in disbelief. “You’re seriously crazy, Gojo.”
“Just crazy in love,” he replied, cheekily winking at you.
“You’re talking to me this time, right? There’s not a pastry box behind me?”
“I’m never gonna be able to live that down, am I?” he groaned.
“Nope,” you said, cuddling into his body once more, “but you’re lucky because I’m crazy in love with you too.”

Mr. Choi from 2A • Jiung Choi
prompt More Than Words Elementary gets the surprise of a lifetime when the kids figure out that the two kindest teachers for 4th and 5th grade are married. pairing teacher!jiung x fem!reader genre school teachers, established relationship, fluff warnings mentions of food, playful banter, school word count 3,796 (this story wrote itself) a/n hi! i'm back! I have something written this time! jiung is my ultimate bias, so i’ve been itching to write something for him. please note that this fic will be told in 3rd pov, but kind of centric to none of the main characters, but to one of jiung’s students, emma!

There are many things in the world that Emma loves. Her parents, for one – obviously. They spoil her endlessly, and even gave her a little brother, so she loves them.
Emma also loves trucks. She loves them simply because her dad always lifts her up to get in the thing. He even has to do a little stretch to get in himself. Big trucks that make even her dad seem small are always fun.
Third on the list – not that it has a particular order – will have to go to the bakery near her house. Ms. Lim makes the best cupcakes known to man, and her mom loves them just as much as she does, so they like to splurge on them every once in a while.
Fourth; the quaint burger place lodged in an alleyway on that busy street Emma always forgets the name of. Every once in a while, her mom and dad take her (and her little brother, now) to the place, and she always manages to see her uncle manning the bar. She wonders if he works there.
And last, but certainly not least; her 4th grade teacher Mr. Choi. Mr. Choi never enters the room without a fond smile on his face as he greets the class in the morning. He never lets them leave without some words of praise when they leave the class in the afternoon.
Mr. Choi is very attentive, explaining things a million times over for everyone to understand (who knew there were different methods to learning how to multiply big numbers?) and is very interactive with his class. Mr. Choi is probably the kindest person Emma knows.
If someone were to come up to her and shove a microphone and a camera in her face (because people do that now) and ask her who she thought the kindest person in the world was, her first answer would definitely be Mr. Choi. That’s just how good he is.
Anyways, before the author starts her spiel on the guy, let’s get into the actual story – shall we?
The list of things that Emma loves in this world differ depending on what day you ask her. Her constants will always be her parents (and brother), trucks, Ms. Lim’s bakery, the burger place, and Mr. Choi from class 2A.
Lately though, Emma thinks that a new constant might add to her list of things she loves in this world. The thought came to her mind halfway through the previous semester.
୧‿̩͙ ˖︵ ꕀ⠀ ♱⠀ ꕀ ︵˖ ‿̩͙୨
At the beginning of her first semester in fourth grade, a new teacher for fifth grade arrived in bubbly fashion. With beautiful kind eyes and a charming smile; the new teacher tumbled her way into the lives of everyone at More Than Words Elementary School.
Emma was one of the people who only entertained things within her bubble. As a bubble dweller, the only things she knew dwelled in her bubble with her. She didn’t know anything about new staff or teachers unless someone entered her bubble to tell her. Which is how she found out about the new teacher in the first place.
She had many friends within the school who greeted her in the mornings, and her cousin Shelby was friends with her next door neighbor Tommy. Those two always brought her the gossip from their fifth grade circle.
They were all hanging out on the playground for recess when Shelby mentioned it to Emma. Something along the lines of the nicest teacher ever just came to their school or something. Emma excused Shelby’s comments because the elder didn’t have Mr. Choi in fourth grade.
Tommy described the woman like she hung the stars in the sky every single night for him to look at and ponder her. Shelby told him to write a book if he wanted to be that sappy. Emma laughed even if she didn’t get the reference all too well.
For the rest of that week, the new teacher was all her fifth grade friends seemed to want to talk about. She stopped listening to them halfway through. Mr. Choi was the nicest teacher ever, so she wanted to see his competition with her own two eyes.
If someone was listening to her thoughts, then they made quick plans, because the next day called for a multitude of rain and the absence of half of the students in her small school. Emma still went to school because her mom and dad had jobs to go to despite the rain, and her grandma was out of the country so no one her parents trusted could watch their kids.
She walked happily to her class, thinking of the pastries she would smell in the afternoon (as it was the day her and her mom went to the bakery) when she spotted a beautiful woman standing outside her class door talking to Mr. Choi. Her smile stretched like the sun on the horizon as it rose in the morning. A warmth like no other had hit Emma the moment she saw it.
Emma slowed her pace as she neared the classroom, and she heard the familiar words of reassurance from her teacher to the lady in front of him to ease her worries about whatever she stressed about. The kind words sounded a bit different in Emma’s ears though.
Emma greeted the adults like she was taught, and both Mr. Choi and the teacher greeted her with similar waves of kindness. The other teacher even knew her name. Why would the other teacher know her name?
Emma tilted her head in confusion and stood before the two teachers. The lady laughed and nudged Mr. Choi to get him to notice. Then, the teacher moved her left hand from the books she clung so tightly to her chest and extended it to the little girl before her.
“Hi Emma Kang, I’m the new fifth grade teacher Ms. (last name). It’s very nice to meet you!” The teacher introduced, and the shock couldn’t come fast enough as it morphed Emma’s face.
The lady before her was the kind teacher Shelby and Tommy told her about. Emma shook Ms. (last name)’s hand, feeling the familiar weight of an engagement band (her aunt Nina had just gotten engaged last month, so she knows how it feels on someone’s hand), and told the teacher that it was nice to meet her as well.
Turns out, Mr. Choi and Ms. (last name) were discussing the merge of their classrooms for the day so that they can watch movies and play games. None of the other fifth grade teachers wanted to do such things with their classes, (as it was still the beginning of the semester) but Mr. Choi thought it would be fun to let his kids relax for one day.
୧‿̩͙ ˖︵ ꕀ⠀ ♱⠀ ꕀ ︵˖ ‿̩͙୨
Rainy days had now meant joint classes after the success of the first one that day, and Emma realized that she hoped for rainy days a lot more, so that she can see Ms. (last name) again and again and again. This was when she thought of the possibility of a new constant on her list.
Emma thinks that Ms. (last name) felt like the sun, especially when she brightened up the classrooms. Ms. (last name) was extra involved in just about everything, and Emma found herself wanting to join a few things just to see the bubbly teacher again.
Now, you (as the reader) might be wondering where I’ll fit the synopsis into this story, and I’m getting there. Anyways, back to the story.
Emma also notices how much livelier Mr. Choi seemed to get whenever Ms. (last name) would come around their area, for rainy days or not. The two teachers seemed really close, like they were friends before working together. Well, that’s how Emma saw it. Shelby and Tommy seemed to disagree though.
The two fifth graders often talked about how they coax small bits of information out of their homeroom teacher whenever they all can’t seem to understand a particularly hard subject (which is usually math.) Ms. (last name) never got into great detail about a lot of stuff, but she always talked about her fiance with a sense of “love” and “comfort”.
Emma knew about those feelings and those words, (she’s 9 for crying out loud) but no one ever seemed to explain the concept of love to her in a way where she understood or related to it, so topics like these had her confused. When she asked what that had to do with anything, Shelby exclaimed that she had a feeling that Mr. Choi and Ms. (last name) were a couple.
Emma sat there for a long while trying to see things from her cousin’s point of view. Sure, they were friendly and got along well, but a couple? They didn’t seem like a couple. She’s seen a few couples in her nine years on this earth, and her teachers don’t act as gross as those couples.
Besides, they both arrive in separate cars. From the couples Emma has seen, they usually arrive in the same car, do they not? Her mom and dad are almost always in the same vehicle. Aunt Nina and her fiance Sam never leave without each other at events. Uncle Darren and Aunt Lily only have one car. They drop Shelby to school in it everyday.
Tommy and Shelby bickered back and forth whilst Emma was left with the most confusing theory of her life.
Emma decided that day that there was no way Mr. Choi and Ms. (last name) were a couple. Well, that was until dinnertime, when she decided to ask the one couple she constantly has to see.
୧‿̩͙ ˖︵ ꕀ⠀ ♱⠀ ꕀ ︵˖ ‿̩͙୨
“Mom, dad, can people be a couple even if they don’t hug and hold hands and kiss and arrive at places in the same car?” She asked them once her food was graced and her mom told her to dig in.
Both of her parents stopped their utensils from reaching their mouths to look at their daughter, seeing her staring back at them with a curious glint in her eyes.
“Sweetie, I think we’re gonna need more context than that.” Her mom answered.
“Your mom’s right, princess. What brought this on so suddenly?” Her dad added on.
“Well, you guys know my favorite teacher Mr. Choi right?” She started off, watching her parents put down their eating utensils to give her their undivided attention.
“Yes we do, what about him?” Her dad asked.
“And you guys know the pretty teacher I told you about a while ago? Ms. (last name)?” She inquired.
“Yes we do sweetheart.” Her mom answered, picking up her son’s spoon to help him eat his rice.
“Okay, so today at recess I mentioned to Shelby and Tommy how I thought the teachers were friends before working together because of how well they seem to just – what’s the word I’m looking for?”
“Coexist?”
“No not that one … although that one is really good, thanks mom.”
“Of course!”
“Cooperate then?” Her dad chimed in, finally picking his utensil up.
“Oh yes that word! Thank you dad, you’re so smart! Anyways, yes I mentioned it to them, and then Shelby said something about how she thinks they’re a couple? So then I sat there to think about it and that doesn’t make sense? How are they a couple when they don’t kiss and hug and hold hands and go everywhere together and use the same car and have kids?” Emma rambled, getting more confused than ever as she’s explaining it to her parents.
“Maybe they don’t act that way because kids are present, princess.” Her dad supplied.
“Dad, you and mom were literally kissing in the kitchen … with me present!” Emma rebutted.
“That’s because you’re our kid. There’s a difference when it’s your own kid,” Her mom informed.
“And besides, they work together don’t they? Why act like a couple at work? That’s not very professional.” Her mom continued.
“You can’t do stuff like that at work?” Emma asked incredulously.
“No you can’t Emma.” Her dad replied.
“Wow, you learn something new everyday. What about the car thing then, they’re married and don’t come to work together? That’s so odd. You guys ride to work together all the time.” Emma questioned.
“Emma first of all, not all couples are married,” Her mom told her, ignoring the gasp of disbelief that escapes her nine year old.
“Secondly, they probably don’t even live together. Of course they’ll come to work in different cars.” Her mom continued.
Emma’s shocked beyond words, her brother Eric wasn't paying attention, just eating his food and replaying the opening for power rangers in his mind as he ignored them. Her dad’s just thinking about how all of this could’ve been avoided if they just gave her electronics and discovered the weird stuff on the internet in the first place. He pushed the thought from his mind though, his wife said no so he sticks beside her.
“Wait, so you’re telling me that couples aren’t married and don’t live together and can’t act gross and work?” Emma asked.
“Your Aunt Nina and her fiance Sam aren’t married, and they’re a couple.” Her dad answered.
“They’re practically married.” Emma replied.
“Wait, but do you guys think they’re a couple? An unmarried one who doesn't live together?” Emma followed up.
She saw her mom and dad rack their brains to see if they remembered anything out of the ordinary between the fourth and fifth grade teachers that night. And then she heard them agree with her crazy claim.
The next day, when she took Shelby’s side in the argument, their conversations shifted forever. The three friends had made it their new mission to find out if their teachers were really together.
୧‿̩͙ ˖︵ ꕀ⠀ ♱⠀ ꕀ ︵˖ ‿̩͙୨
In between that time, the semester had ended, and the long awaited break had begun. Her mom and dad finally sat her down and told her about the different types of couples and all that jazz. They also took her to see her grandparents, where she stayed with all of her cousins for two weeks.
Emma, Shelby and Tommy met regularly to talk about their random findings, even during their break. Nothing was bigger than the time Emma saw them both at Ms. Lim’s bakery though. The two teachers didn’t notice her, and she didn’t try to get noticed as she saw them share a slice of cheesecake and basically smiled at each other for five minutes.
Through it all though, the mission seemed to be leading them practically nowhere. The new semester started with Shelby and Tommy telling Emma how Ms. (last name) came back with a new ring on her finger, signifying that she finally got married.
Tommy told her to check Mr. Choi’s hands to see if he had a ring on as well to confirm their suspicions. Mr. Choi always had rings on his fingers though, so that plan was fruitless.
For days on end, Emma tried to figure out if there was a new ring on Mr. Choi’s finger, and for days on end it seemed as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
Just as Emma was about to give up though, the answers to their questions fell right into her lap.
୧‿̩͙ ˖︵ ꕀ⠀ ♱⠀ ꕀ ︵˖ ‿̩͙୨
It was a rainy Thursday, and like all rainy days, Emma gets dropped off to school earlier than usual. Emma told her parents goodbye at the entrance of the school, watching her dad’s truck drive off with her mom waving at her wildly from the window.
Emma began to turn around to head inside before hearing the familiar purr of her teacher’s SUV pulling into the parking lot. She then stopped fully once she saw her teacher help Ms. (last name) out of the car?!?!!?!?!
Mr. Choi and Ms. (last name) just came out of the same car. Mr. Choi is helping Ms. (last name) with her bags. Mr. Choi – OH MY GOODNESS DID MR. CHOI JUST KISS MS. (LAST NAME)’S FOREHEAD? were the thoughts that ran through Emma’s mind once she saw what transpired.
Emma wanted to stand there and rack her brain to find the sense in all of what had happened, but the teachers were both coming towards the entrance? Oh my goodness, Emma Kang. Go and run into a hole right now.
Emma picked up her pace and starts to walk away, but the warm tilt of a harmonious tone traveled to her ears as Ms. (last name) greeted her from her walk toward the door. Emma stopped like a deer in headlights, and turned slowly to greet the two teachers.
My goodness, they’re even sharing an umbrella. Emma Kang, for the first time in her life, just wants to not be a curious kid. Having to see this from her favorite teachers isn’t good for her psyche.
“Emma Kang, it’s been a while. How are you doing this morning? Are you ready for our rainy day movie session? I didn’t expect the rain to happen so quickly into the semester, but man am I excited for our class to get together again and have some fun. Do you want to help Mr. Choi and I choose the first movie? We’ve been arguing about the lineup all –”
“(First name), you’re rambling.” Mr. Choi interrupted, and only one thing entered Emma’s mind like a blaring siren once she saw Ms. (last name) stop and giggle about it, apologizing to the kid.
“You two are married.” Emma blurted out in the midst of Ms. (last name)’s apology, causing the two teachers to freeze up at the accusation – no, the declaration.
They both rubbed their necks in tandem; Ms. (last name) laughing nervously and suddenly finding interest in the school motto placed on the wall beside them. Mr. Choi looked at his wife, and then looked at his (now unfortunate) brightest student.
“You two are married right? Mr. Choi kissed your forehead and you guys got out of the same car and you guys are even holding pinkies over the handle of Ms. (last name)’s bag.” Emma asked, pointing out her deductions to the newlyweds before her.
The air stilled once she continued on with her findings, almost laughing at the fact that they immediately let go of each others’ pinkies. Mr. Choi told Emma to follow them, walking from the entrance and to the classroom of 2A.
Emma watched as they both started to unpack the bags, placing stuff here and there and working together like they’ve been doing this for years. Emma watched a new level of their cooperation unfold on that rainy thursday.
After they had set up everything, Ms. (last name) walked over to Mr. Choi, and pulled at his blazer to get his attention. They had a discussion with wide eyes and ragged whispers for about five minutes before Mr. Choi raised his hands in defeat. That’s when Emma noticed that he forwent the rings he usually donned, one simple band on his left ring finger catching the light in the room.
“I guess the cat’s out of the bag now.” Ms. (last name) said after a few moments of awkward silence.
Emma’s eyes widened to the size of saucers once she realized that they were admitting to her declarations.
“You guys really are married?” She carefully asked.
“Yes, yes we are. We recently tied the knot during the break.” Mr. Choi answers, stifling his laughter once he sees confusion slide across his student’s face.
“What does tying a knot have to do with your marriage?” Emma confusingly questioned.
“It’s an expression. One of the many ways of saying you got married without actually saying it.” Ms. (last name) replies, pinching her husband for laughing.
“Oh.” Is all Emma said in response.
The adults studied her face for any odd reactions from Emma Kang, who started to have another mental battle with herself.
“We actually wanted to tell you and the other kids about it later on.” Mr. Choi supplies helplessly.
That didn’t seem to work though, as Emma continued to just … blankly stare at them.
“Are you upset, Emma Kang?” Ms. (last name) asked after almost three minutes of heavy silence.
Then Emma blinks a few times, looking up at them with something close to joy swimming in her eyes. Mr. Choi and Ms. (last name) let out the breath they didn’t even know they were holding.
“Upset? This is the best news I’ve gotten all school year. Why would I be upset when the two nicest people in the world are married?” Emma exclaims.
“I thought you’d be upset that we didn’t say anything.” Mr. Choi replied.
“I thought you had a crush on Mr. Choi, to be honest.” Ms. (last name) replied at the same time.
“I’m nine.” Emma deadpanned.
“When I was nine, I had a crush on my music teacher. I don’t see how that excuse is relevant.” Ms. (last name) said.
“(First name) you were just an odd kid.” Mr. Choi followed up.
Emma chuckled when she saw Ms. (last name) hit Mr. Choi on the arm for his comment.
“You who was crushing over Sam from ‘Danny Phantom’ at that exact age, puh-lease.” Ms. (last name) accused.
“At least she and I were closer in age than you and your old shriveled up music teacher.” Mr. Choi responded.
“Sam isn’t even real.” Ms. (last name) said.
“Neither was your chance with that wrinkly old music teacher.” Mr. Choi replied.
“He was 25 oh my goodness Jiung, stop calling him old.” Ms. (last name) exclaimed.
“Even worse.” Mr. Choi replied.
The adults stopped their playful banter when they heard Emma cracking up from her seat.
“You guys are the sweetest.” She replied once she stopped laughing, shocked at the fond looks that stretched their smiles wide at her.
୧‿̩͙ ˖︵ ꕀ⠀ ♱⠀ ꕀ ︵˖ ‿̩͙୨
The rainy day ended up with Emma harboring their secret for them, a lot of movies, and a kid crashing from a sugar rush after sneakily eating too much candy.
Later that semester, the teachers decided to tell their class separately about their marriage, which breaks another spout of gossip between Emma, Shelby and Tommy. The news spread through More Than Words Elementary like wildfire that day.
Questions were thrown at the couple for weeks to come after that, and a new quest (bet) was formed between the kid trio. Guessing when they’d have their first kid.
Emma now helped the kind teachers set up for movie days whenever it rained, and a new constant had been added to Emma’s long list of things she loved. Her parents (and brother), trucks, Ms. Lim’s bakery, the burger place, Ms. (last name) and Mr. Choi from Class 2A. That was her list of constants.

red bean buns ₊⊹˚ෆ
pairing - gn!reader x kim woonhak
genre - fluff, online friends/classmates to ??, high school au
warnings - food, slight swearing, they’re in their last year of high school, adults dni, woonhak’s down bad, lmk if there’s anything else!
wc: ~1.6k
synopsis - when there’s a dorky classmate that keeps sneaking glances at you and a boy on the other line who isn’t telling you his name, you’re starting to get suspicious.
maia’s note: i love woonhak so much lawd 😭😭 this is slightly inspired by “you’re here that’s the thing” by beabadoobee!! but erm i wrote this really quickly and messily bcuz i’ve finally come to the realization that woonhak is my bias. i’m sorry leehan. anyways please enjoy! reblogs and likes are always appreciated 🫶
“gi? are you there?” you furrowed your eyebrows, “did you hear me? my name is yn.”
there was a break in the thick silence, “huh? oh, yeah, i’m sorry.”
you were talking to your online friend of 3 years, gi, on the phone. you met playing roblox and after becoming very comfortable with each other, you were basically best friends.
although the two of you were extremely close, you still went by your username, and gi said he had been going by a nickname as well.
the both of you chose to call and reveal your real name since it had only felt right. i mean, knowing each other for so long and everything, you guys should!
thus, you had just revealed your name to him, and for some reason, he sounds.. in shock?
“okay it’s your turn, what’s your real name?” you asked him.
“um.. i actually have to go now.. yn.. b-bye!”
your phone beeped, signaling that he had hung up. he actually hung up.
your jaw dropped. there is no fucking way he just did that.
continue under the cut!!
——————
the next day, you woke up with a buzzing headache.
you had texted gi repeatedly about the event that occurred, but he hadn’t replied whatsoever, and of course, it kept you up at night.
over the years you’ve known gi, you have developed feelings for him. however, you never wanted to admit it, as you were embarrassed for having feelings for someone you didn’t even know in real life. i mean, you didn’t even know his name… playing games and talking daily made your heart skip, even if you wanted to deny it. so after yesterday, you felt an even larger sense of embarrassment.
you walked into your classroom, basically a zombie. you sat down at your desk and rested your head on your arms, closing your eyes.
“dang what happened to you?” your desk mate and class president, park gunwook, questioned you.
you shrugged, responding sarcastically, “a fucking tornado hit me, that’s what.”
gunwook chuckled and his eyes wandered elsewhere.
“hey why’s woonhak staring at you so sadly? he looks like a puppy, don’t you think?”
you opened your eyes and to the right of you was woonhak, standing near his friends. his group was conversing with passion, but he was looking right at you. also, gunwook was right; he looked like a puppy.
almost automatically he looked away, scratching the back of his neck as his ears reddened.
you furrowed your eyebrows. what was that about? you thought.
you shook off the strange feeling you got and closed your eyes again. but when you did, you felt a familiar pair of eyes focusing their attention on you again.
——————
you and woonhak weren’t friends or anything. the only time you had talked to each other was for a project in your 2nd year. yeah, you two had been in the same class every year, (which was actually a strange coincidence..?) but you had never been close like that. it wasn’t anything personal; you both just didn’t feel a need to get close or whatever.
so why, just why, was he staring at you so much?
it was now lunchtime, and you, gunwook, and your other friend, haerin, were grabbing food at the convenience store.
you walked into the bakery section to pick up a red bean bun, already holding a strawberry milk in one hand. you spotted the item you were looking for, but you also noticed something in the left corner of your eye. you grabbed the bun and then turned to your left.
it was.. woonhak.
woonhak stood there at the end of the aisle, a red bean bun in his hand and a blank stare on his face.
you raised an eyebrow, “woonhak?”
he didn’t say anything. he just stood there and looked at you, expressionless. you walked up to him slowly.
“woonhak do you have something to say?? orrr..”
he blinked. then blinked again. his eyes widened, “oh.. yn! i’m so sorry!! um..”
“its alright. are you okay?” you asked, concerned.
“yes! well.. actually, i’m not fully sure,” his eyes wandered and then focused on the red bean bun in your hold. “oh! do you like red bean buns too?”
you giggled, “yeah i do!” he smiled at you widely, and you did the same.
“yn! did you get it??”
you turned to see haerin calling at you. when she saw woonhak behind you, she raised her eyebrows.
“yeah i got it,” you looked to woonhak, “i’ll.. see you later?”
he nodded, blushing a bit. you walked up to haerin and both headed to the cash register, where gunwook was.
“what was that yn? you and woonhak..?” she wiggled her eyebrows.
gunwook, obviously confused, said, “huh? what did i miss?”
“not much? well i don’t know what that was honestly..”
they looked at you, puzzled. you three checked out and headed back to your classrooms. on the way back, you explained your little interaction with woonhak.
gunwook chuckled, “he wants you so bad.”
you scrunched your face in refusal, “no way..”
“i don’t know, yn, he got really flustered when seeing you. like, quite literally speechless,” she snickered.
you blinked, thousands of thoughts running through your mind. woonhak liking you wouldn’t be the worst, but you need to stay loyal to gi, right? or maybe not since it’s kind of complicated currently. you were still thinking about what happened the day before and were still utterly confused; this woonhak stuff didn’t help.
you shook your head at your friends, trying not to over complicate everything. you figured that when you got home, you had to try and talk to gi and find out what was up with him hanging up so abruptly?
——————
after arriving back home after school, you plopped on your bed, desperate for rest after your previous sleepless night. you pulled your phone out of your pocket and pressed on you and gi’s messages.
he’s read your texts, but hasn’t responded to them. you frown, wondering if you did anything wrong. you then start typing out a message but stop when you see three circles pop up, signaling that he’s texting you.
can we call?
the message shows on your screen, and you pause for a second—before quickly pressing the call button.
“gi?”
“yn.”
“woah, it’s weird hearing you call me by my na-“
“we need to talk.”
you press your lips into a thin line. “okay.. what is it?”
he pauses and says, “you see.. we actually know each other. like, in real life.”
“w-what??” your eyes widen, “who are you?”
you hear him take a deep breath.
“can we meet at the park near may street? i feel like this is something to be handled with in person and.. i have more to tell you.”
you take in his words, thinking about his question in your head. you trust he’s not some creep or so, i mean, you have known him for 3 years and a strong trust and bond have grown from that.
“okay. in around 15 minutes then?” you decide.
“yes, that sounds good. i’ll see you then yn.”
“see you.. gi.”
——————
you were laying down on the slide, looking up at the sky. you quickly walked to the park, basically the moment you got off the call. everything was just really overwhelming to you, you didn’t know what to expect or feel.
luckily, there was no one at the park and a light breeze was present. you look at your phone screen. 4:40. the call ended at 4:30. you closed your eyes, nervous for when your online friend of 3 years would appear.
you ultimately treasure your friendship with him and that’s part of why you’ve never confessed to him. you were too afraid of ruining the bond you had already built. therefore, you sucked it up and decided to ignore your feelings. even if you still felt them. like, really felt them.
“um.. yn?”
you jolt up and open your eyes.
“wait..”
“hold on i can explain!!”
“woonhak?”
there standing in front of you was your dorky, awkward classmate, woonhak.
“yeah.. okay well i wanted to tell you BUT!! don’t forget i just found out who YOU were like, yesterday, and i was really taken aback but also happy because you’re… you! um, im sorry, i-i,” he scratched the back of his neck.
you stood up from the slide and walked up to him. patting his shoulder, you gave him a reassuring smile.
“woonhak, dude, calm down! it’s just me.”
he mumbled, “well that’s the thing, it is you..”
you raised an eyebrow, “huh?”
“no.. no! um, you see,” he exhales, “i love our friendship and i was very happy to find you in roblox 3 years ago. but.. when i found out you were yn in real life, that.. changed things.”
you nodded slowly, “okay.. how so?”
“i just liked my online friend, [username], as a friend, right? but.. you.. i like you, yn, as more.”
you gape at him, mouth widening in an ‘o’ shape. “you.. you like me? like like me?”
he says sheepishly, “yes, like like you.”
you hold in a laugh, “that’s ironic because i like gi as more than friends, but not woonhak.”
now it’s his turn to gape at you with wide eyes and his pretty lips in a small ‘o.’
you giggle, “so.. what now then?”
“well.. i’m gi and you’re yn so..” he stressed the last o.
“so…” you repeated.
“we’re a thing?” he said slowly.
you smiled at him, “we’re a thing.”
he engulfed you in a warm yet somewhat suffocating hug and nuzzled his head into the side of your neck. his next few words were muffled, but you could still make them out.
“i really, really like you, yn.”
——————
the next day, you arrive at your desk at school and lying on it is a mountain of red bean buns. a sticky note is on the top and it reads, ‘i heard you liked red bean buns?’

not-so secret admirer h. yujin
your friends think you have a secret admirer but little did they know, all those anonymously given gifts left on your desk every morning are from none other than your secret boyfriend.
written in second person pov, gn reader, fluff, established relationship, high school au, requested !! mentions of food
“ha! it’s here again! i told you it wouldn’t be a one-time thing,” a paper bag labelled with the logo of the bakery near your school sits there on your desk with a mini heart-shaped letter clipped to it.
it was still quite early in the morning as the clock ticks half-past seven, most desks empty with the exception of a few school bags messily littered on the floor.
you smile unknowingly upon being embraced with the warm gift.
“open it! open it! this is so sweet! this whole secret admirer thing is straight out of a kdrama,” your friend jumps up and down excitedly by your side as she waits for you to unveil the gift.
“okay, okay, calm down. why are you even more giddy about this than me?” you chuckle as you delicately take the letter and hold it close to your chest as you read it secretively.
“hey! let me see it too,” she tries to peek at the handwritten letter as you hold it closely to your heart, scanning through every messily written word on the thin piece of paper.
it wrote, ‘good morning. i got this for you on my way to school. please eat it while it’s hot. i hope you like it xoxo,’ signed off with the single letter ‘h’.
the letter was snatched away from your hands before you could properly process it and soon, your ears were attacked with a dolphin-like squeal.
“oh my god, you lucky bastard! you bagged a green flag,” your friend pretended to be jealous of you as she pout and softly hit your shoulder, returning the heartfelt letter to you as you unwrapped the paper bag to be met with the sweet aroma of the strawberry flavoured dessert, warmth still radiating from the pastry, fresh out of the oven.
“he’s just a secret admirer. i haven’t technically ‘bagged’ him or anything. i mean i probably don’t even know him,” you playfully bumped your shoulder against hers.
however, while your friend was too busy in her little world fantasising about all the possibilities of your love life, you knowingly grin to yourself and internally gushed over the boy who just so seems to be the culprit.
“han yujin, what has gotten into you?” you murmured to yourself and shook your head as the morning bell rings.
after an eternity of sitting through your morning classes, lunch started and so, you and your mini friend group gathered at the halls to get lunch together at the cafeteria.
it consisted of a few friends you’ve made last year in your old class, now all having been separated in the new school year.
said friend group also included han yujin, the very boy who you fell for last summer and has since been secretly dating throughout the summer.
upon making eye contact with him as you all walk up to each other, your other friend from another class enthusiastically skipping up to you to sling an arm around your shoulders, the both of you bashfully offer a small smile to each other and hide the pink hue decorating your cheeks, looking down and avoiding eye contact.
with the rest of you friends walking up ahead and chattering away, passionately rambling on about how boring classes were, yujin sneakily took the place by your side and walked right next to you.
“hey, did you like the little gift i left for you this morning?”
you softly beamed at him, trying your best to hold back the grin peeking on your face, “thank you, yujin. i really liked it but you really don’t have to do this every day.”
“hmm, i’ll think about it,” his eyes finally looked into yours, lovestruck and just so in love, you were surprised your friends didn’t notice you two making heart eyes at each other yet.
mesmerised by the way his gaze lingered on you, you drifted away from the conversations of your friends.
you both sneaked glances at each other, looking into each others’ eyes for a millisecond before looking away. your hands did the same too, swinging by your sides and gently bumping into each other, the back of your hands touching for a millisecond and then pulling away only to do the same once again.
your newly blossomed relationship didn’t start long ago so you were both still quite shy.
setting down your plates on your table, yujin speed-walked over to your side and raced your friend to sit on your left, they only side-eyed him and snickered as they sat on your right instead, letting him have his way with a snarky smile on his face.
as soon as everyone was seated and started digging in, you felt warmth enveloping your left hand that was placed in your lap, a larger hand interlocking their fingers with yours, the intertwined hands resting on your thigh.
you almost spit out your rice upon feeling yujin boldly taking your hand in his and immediately turn your head to look him in the eye.
your wide eyed gaze meets his smiling ones, innocently grinning at you and holding in his giggles.
calming yourself down, you turn back to your previously neglected plate and continue digging in.
however, your heart still beats at 100 km/h and the pumping in your chest distracts you from the conversation of your friends.
“why is your face so red? are you alright?”
the look on your face resembles that of a deer caught in headlights, eyes shot wide open as you face the concerned gazes of your friends.
“i’m fine! it’s just a little hot in here, you know. um, let me just go get a cold drink from the vending machine real quick, bye,”
you untangle your hand from yujin’s in a rush and your chair screeches as you push it back to stand up, and you speed walk out of the cafeteria.
“it’s 2°C?” your friend questioned as you left.
reaching the vending machines area, you let out a sigh and lean on the wall near the vending machine, hand resting on your heart to feel your pacing heartbeat.
“what is wrong with you,” you speak to yourself in the empty area as your head hangs low with the lights of the vending machine reflecting off of you.
hearing footsteps nearing the area, you immediately regained your composure and tensed up.
“hey. are you okay?” it was yujin.
“yujin? why are you here? go back before they get suspicious.” your words were cut off when yujin walked closer to you, the proximity taking your breath away.
“relax. don’t worry about them for now. it kills me that i can’t be close to you when i haven’t seen you for so long.”
“it has only been a few hours, yujin,” you chuckled as he pouted at you. his hands grabbing yours.
your head tilted up to face him and his tipped down to get closer to you, lips simply hovering over each others’. “but i still miss you,” he mumbled.
you felt the air from his mouth when he spoke hit your lips, reminding you of the close proximity between the both of you. and so, yujin made a move and leaned in, eyes closed, your eyes closing too in response.
you could feel the warmth from his face transport to yours, his hand creeping up your arm to hold your chin, thumb gently grazing your flushed cheeks, you both leaned in closer and- clack!
your heads swiftly turned to the source of the sound, snapped out of your trance, only to be met with the surprised look of your friends, eyes wide open and jaws dropped, speechless at the sight of two of their friends having such an intimate moment.
the sound came from your friend dropping her belongings on the floor due to the shock and honestly, you could not blame her nor the rest of your friends for the dramatic reaction.
you and yujin exchanged awkward glances after taking a look at your frozen friends, yujin nodded his head at you as if giving you approval.
“um, well, surprise?”
i am so so sorry this took so long to write i hope you like it and this is my first work after my very long hiatus so hopefully my writing didn’t get too bad 😨

The Sea Hare: Birthday Special!
A Freminet x Gn! Reader
It’s September 24th, Freminet’s 18th birthday! Let’s show the little guy some appreciation.
“Freminet’s avoiding us until the party tonight. He says today is always too overwhelming.” Lynette announced as you finished helping her tie her ponytail.
“There’s a party tonight that I didn’t know about?” you cocked your head.
“It’s his birthday. Father is coming to visit tonight to celebrate with us.”
You froze.
“His birthday? Today? I-”
“Did you forget, Y/N?”
What? Forget? Hah, never!
You reassured yourself as you scrambled around the shopping district.
It’s just that September is a busy month! Yeah, and I hadn’t been watching my time.
You stopped in multiple stores, collecting items here and there that you knew he’d like. You emerged with all sorts of things ranging from high class mechanic tools to a palm-sized paperweight featuring a little penguin on an iceberg.
Oh Archons, I don’t even know what kind of cake he likes!
You sat down and took a breath.
It’s fine. Just think. He doesn’t like foods that are too sweet, and he doesn’t like chocolate so…
You scanned the window of the nearest bakery.
You noted the carrot cake, vanilla and toffee cake, and the blackberry purée filled cake as possible options before settling on the blackberry. Blackberry always added a wonderful tartness to counter the sugar of the frosting.
“Can I purchase two slices of the blackberry cake?”
+
You rushed back home, placing the gifts hastily in some tissue paper and a little bag. You then made your way to the Hotel Bouffes d'ete, knocking rapidly on the door.
An older child answered.
“Hello, is Freminet around?” you asked them nicely.
They squinted at you.
“What’s your name? I’ll go get him.”
“Y/N, and tell him to come down and meet me.”
You stood waiting for a few minutes before Freminet opened the door. It was obvious he had been either napping or curled in bed all day. He hadn’t bothered to brush his hair and his comportment was relaxed. He smiled with amusement at you, seeing how frazzled you seemed.
“Were you running laps around the fountain near Vasari Passage?” he crossed his arms.
“…Something like that.” you grabbed his arm and gave it a tug. “I hope you’re hungry! We’re going back to my place. I wanted to celebrate your birthday with you, but… I know how the Knave is about friends.”
Freminet followed you without a question.
“I was hoping you’d figure something out. You always do.” he said with a hint of admiration. You noticed, pride welling up in your chest.
“You know me. I get everything done at the last minute, but I always get it done.”
You led him back to the boarding house, setting up in the little breakfast parlor. You plopped him down in a chair and scurried over to the kitchen where the cake slices had been chilling. You stuck in a candle, lit it, and cautiously set before him the small plate and fork.
“Happy birthday!” you placed your hands on his shoulders and leaned down. “Make a wish.”
He shut his eyes and hummed for a minute before blowing the candle out. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders and hugged him.
“Yay! Was it a big wish or a little one?” you asked.
“It… depends. But to me, it’s a big wish.” he said quietly.
You gave his shoulders a clap and then flitted over to your own cake and sat.
“Well, birthday wishes always come true so if you’re going to make a big wish now’s the chance. Of course, you get another one later tonight. Lucky~”
He took the candle out and sat it on the side of the plate.
“Still, you didn’t have to buy cake for me, Y/N. I’ll be eating so much cake these next few days…” he trailed off with dread.
“What, you’ll never eat cake again or something?”
“I might turn into cake, is what I mean.” he took a bite of it nonetheless.
You both took a moment to savor it.
“So… you’re old now.”
He paused, looking up at you with confusion and mild concern.
“Old?”
“You’re 18 now, Mimi. That’s old.”
He blushed heavily at the use of “Mimi”.
“If I’m ‘old’, then you aren’t doing much better. And what the heck kind of name is ‘Mimi.’”
“Your new nickname, as of today!” you raised a hand to your mouth as you laughed.
He decided not to protest, taking another bite to silence himself. You poked the dense cake with your fork.
“It’s a little dry, I’m going to pour some milk. Do you want some?” you stood again.
“That’d be great, if you will.” He nodded.
You returned shortly, carrying two glasses to the table.
“If you turned into cake, I think you’d become a blueberry muffin with those little sugar crystals on top.” you stated.
“W-What makes you say that?” he asked with a soft laugh.
“Well… blueberry muffins are small like your voice, sturdy like your strength, and sweet like your heart! Also, your eyes kind of look like blueberries anyway.”
Are you saying I’m a sweetheart? he pondered, blushing a little.
“I bought you some presents too.”
“You did? Thank you.”
“Psh, what kind of person would I be if I didn’t buy birthday presents for my favorite guy?”
Poor thing, now he’s even more red in the face.
“You spoil me sometimes.”
You chuckled and shook your head, finishing off the frosting on your fork.
“And I will continue to do so!”
He groaned as you went off to fetch the gifts. However, he would not be grumbling when he removed the tissue paper and revealed the high class mechanic tools.
“Y/N! These are crazy expensive!” he exclaimed, taking the screwdriver set out, his eyes sparkling as he inspected them.
“Well, I heard you say you would love to have them. I wanted to buy you something you’d actually use.” you leaned against the table, watching him enthusiastically dig through the tissue paper, uncovering other items. There was a blubber-beast chain for his diving gear, a box of four raspberry tarts, and a pocket-sized sketchbook.
He took the little paperweight out and giggled at the penguin.
“Ok, this is pretty cute.” he set it on the table. “I can use it to keep my instruction manuals open!”
“That’s what I was thinking! It’s like it had your name on it.”
He looked up at you with a wide smile.
“Thanks for this.” he said sincerely. “I know you’re busy with schoolwork and your work for the theater. I’m happy to celebrate with you.”
You crossed your arms with a modest expression.
“I can always find time for my close friends and such. You only have one birthday a year, after all, I have to be there.”
He put the gifts back in the bag and set it on the other side of the empty cake plate.
“Hey, would you wanna go for a walk in the Dryas Woods with me?” he fiddled with some torn tissue paper. “I want to go somewhere peaceful before the excitement of the party.”
You hummed in approval, taking the empty plates to the sink.
“I can’t deny you today of all days. We can go when you’re ready.”
+
It was a cooler day, still a little damp from the hours of steady rain they received the day before. The leaves above created a pattern on the path below.
“This way, I want to show you something!” he beckoned you with his hand and veered off the path.
The breeze was more earthen here, further away from the sea. Sparrows flew away from the trees as they passed underneath them, chirping lightly. They came out into a small meadow between two pine hills.
Honeybees zipped through the wildflowers: sunflowers, cranesbills, and bushes of white peonies.
You ran your hands over the knee-high blooms, careful not to disturb working bees.
Freminet sat down on a rock in the middle of the field, observing the closest flowers around him.
You sat down below him on the slight hill, the little meadow immediately giving you peace of mind.
“I come here a lot when I’m alone.” he explained. “The flowers growing tall, the wildlife that comes when you sit still long enough. I have a lot of places like this, but none just as perfect as this one. Even Pers likes it.”
A little gust of wind blew by, some petals loosing into the air. His hair, damaged by an excess of saltwater, wisped around his face. He closed his eyes for a moment and then gave you a small smile.
“I wanted to share it with you. What do you think?”
“I love it here.” you replied, flopping back and laying in the flowers. “But I’m supposed to be the one giving you things today.”
He rolled his eyes.
“This is a gift for me- getting to be in my favorite spot with someone I trust.”
You closed your eyes.
“It is one of the best feelings to welcome someone into a space that is your own. I wish life could be more like this, slow and fragrant and thoughtful.”
He nodded and plucked a cranesbill bloom, twirling it in his hands. A handful of butterflies meandered about the colorful field.
You stayed until Freminet’s party neared, watching birds and sharing tales. You walked with him back to the boarding school to retrieve his birthday gifts and then escorted him to the Hotel Bouffes d'ete.
“Have fun tonight!” you exclaimed, waving at him as you backed away.
He waved back.
“See you later!”
You turned and began to go home, the night growing chilly. The light from the Hotel was inviting, shining on the stone street as if to display its pride for the inhabitants.
Freminet’s home, a place you could never know.
A place where tonight, his found family would adore him and celebrate his life thus far.
A place where he usually returned after a day of violence and isolation.
You had your opinions, but what mattered tonight was that Freminet was loved.
And he would always be very much loved, even if the Hotel were to disappear.
