My headcanon is that Joffrey would be named Baelon under these circumstances, and Laena's son would be named Aemon - as he was born after Joff .

Modernau where the Targaryens are a mafia but make it a crime comedy:

Baelon lived became head of the Mafia when Jaehaerys croaked, made both Rhaenys and Viserys his co-heirs. Aemon, Alyssa, Aemma, any Targaryen or family member who died in unclear ways, were all killed by the Hightowers who want to supplant the Targaryens as the Boses of the Mafia. Baelon married Daemon to both Laena and Rhaenyra as both girls are his heirs oldest children, and he wants to keep the power in the family(something he believes his father should have done instead of attempting to marry his youngest children off to other families leading to either their deaths ofmr estrangement, when he became boss he called Saera back), betweenthe three of them they have 9 children(Jace, Luke, Baela, Rhaena, Joffrey, Baelon II, Aegon III, Viserys II, and Visenya). After Aemma's death, Viserys still marries Alicent(despite everyone being against it) and still has four children with her.

Since Viserys went against his orders, Baelon removed him and his children from Alicent from the mafia succecion and gave the position of heir to Rhaenyra. When Baelon eventually retires, it's Rhaenys, Laena, and Rhaenyra who are in charge and decide to continue Baelons's plans for the Hightowers.

They begin by destroying all business deals the Hightowers have, bringing their fortune down as they try their best to keep everything afloat. When realizing that with their businesses are being destroyed, they try to find a way to put one of Alicent's children at the helm of the Mafia by marrying either Baela or Jace. Unfortunately(for the Hightowers, that is), Rhaenyra and Laena had anticipated this, so they betrothed Jace and Baela.

But it wouldn't be me if I didn't add a splash of JaceLuke and Baena, so while Jace and Baela are engaged, they both are having a relationship behind everyone's back with their beloved brother/sister(except Laena, Daemon, Laenor, Baelon, and the R's know;they have walked in on them so many times). They make it game to be as affectinate/inappropriate in front of the Hightowers as they can be, Daemon is so proud.

What have you done! Part 1

Aegon Targaryen was born in 107 AC to King Viserys Targaryen and Alicent Hightower then Alicent gave birth to a daughter Helaena Targaryen in 109 AC then she gave birth to a second son Aemond Targaryen born in 110 AC then she gave birth to a third son Daeron Targaryen in 114 AC.

Princess Rhaenyra gave birth to her first daughter (Y/N) Velaryon in 113 AC then she had her first son Jacerys Velaryon in 114 AC then had her second son Lucerys Velaryon in 115 AC then she had her third son Joffrey Velaryon in 117 AC.

(Y/N) Velaryon is the first born daughter and heir to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Y/N) was born with fair skin like her mother and white hair like her mother and violet eyes.

(Y/N) ran along with Jace and Luke as they made their way to their mother’s apartment to see their new baby brother.

“Mother, look at the egg we picked for the baby.” Jace says, showing Rhaenyra the dragon egg.

“Mother, what's his name?” (Y/N) asks happily.

“His name is Joffrey.” Laenor tells you all.

“Mother, may I please hold Joffrey ?” (Y/N) asks hopefully.

“Later my darling but Ser Harwin wants to meet Joffrey.” Rhaenyra says as she looks at (Y/N) then at Laenor.

“Come boys, let us make way for your lessons in the dragon pit.” Laenor says as he takes Jace and Luke out of the room.

“(Y/N) stay with your mother and then you can go see Baelon.” Laenor tells (Y/N).

(Y/N) remembers the the day her dragon Baelon he hatched the same day but Baelon grew bigger every day and now was bigger then Vhagar when King Viserys saw (Y/N)’s dragon he told her it’s like seeing his dragon Balerion the black dread and (Y/N) rode her dragon for hours.

“Ser Harwin, are you happy?” (Y/N) asks him.

“Of course I’m happy Princess, why wouldn’t I be?” Harwin asks (Y/N).

“I may be young and look naïve to you and my mother but I know the truth about you and my mother and about my brothers, I know you love my mother and she loves you so thank you for making my mother happy Ser Harwin.” (Y/N) tells him and hugs him.

Rhaenyra looks at (Y/N) then at Harwin.

“(Y/N) how long have you known?” Rhaenyra asks (Y/N) calmly.

“Mother I’ve known for some time and I know you and father love each other but in different ways and that’s okay and I know I have to protect my family from everything Alicent says and everyone else” (Y/N) tells Rhaenyra and Harwin.

“(Y/N) yes Ser Harwin is your brother’s father and I hate that I have put them in danger because of it but I couldn’t help falling in love and I will do anything and everything in my power to help them and you and as my heir I have put all this pressure on you and I am sorry for that.” Rhaenyra tells (Y/N).

DragonStone

(Y/N) held Rhaenyra’s hand as they sailed to DragonStone and the dragons flew overhead.

“Mother, I had a dream last night about fire and someone calling out for help.” (Y/N) tells Rhaenyra.

“You have dragon dreams, my little dragon just like your ancestors before you and they help us see what’s to come and how to stop what will happen.” Rhaenyra tells (Y/N).

(Y/N) lay in her bed but was suddenly awakened by her dream and ran to Baelon and flew off.

Harrenhal

(Y/N) flew to Harrenhal and lands near the castle and sees people run in and out of the fire trying to put it out and (Y/N) ran back to Baelon and had him burn holes in rooms to help get people out that were stuck (Y/N) ran in and helped See Harwin out at Lord Lyonel was helped out just before the flames could engulf him and Harwin ran to his father.

“Princess, what are you doing here?” Harwin asks (Y/N).

“I’ve had some dreams about you burning in a fire yelling for help and I couldn’t stand seeing it so I knew I had to help you.” (Y/N) tells Harwin as she hugged him tight.

“Thank Princess” Ser Harwin whispers to (Y/N).

DragonStone

(Y/N) flew back home and saw Rhaenyra and her brothers waiting for her.

“(Y/N) where have you been Ser Steffon has been looking all around for you.” Rhaenyra tells (Y/N).

“I’m sorry mother and Ser Steffon but I had another dream and I just had to see here it took me and it was Harrenhal mother it was a blaze and Ser Harwin and his father where stuck inside and I couldn’t just leave them in there to burn alive so I helped save them and others” (Y/N) tells Rhaenyra and her brothers.

“Please never run off like that again but we must go to DriftMark my little dragon. Your aunt Laena has passed away while trying to give birth.” Rhaenyra tells (Y/N).

(Y/N) sat in her room and took out a journal and wrote.

“Mother told me aunt Laena passed and now we are to head to DriftMark and pay our respects and father has taken it hard; he is like a shell of himself” - (Y/N) Velaryon.

“Sailing to DriftMark was difficult father cried and was just watching the sea pass by as the dragons flew over us all I’ve tried to talk to him but he just sits there and it hurts my heart to see him like this it’s like a piece of him has died as well” - (Y/N) Velaryon.

“I saw grandmother and grandfather and I’ve seen them both look broken as they get ready to say goodbye to their daughter Baela and Rhaena stand by grandmother and cry out for their mother it breaks my heart to see my cousins like this and in so much pain” - (Y/N) Velaryon.

no i have a outline for this very silly conflict. buckle up under the readmore this is barely hinged and deeply unserious

so.

- Queen Rhaena (the lesbian) dies, names Saera as her successor at the last minute which no one wants to honor.

- Starts with Rhaenys on dragonstone, Baelon in KL, and Saera in Volantis headed to KL.

- Baelon still gets appendicitis and dies pretty early but everyone thinks it’s some kind of treachery.

- The war officially starts when Damon Targaryen runs into Corlys at Riverrun, trying to negotiate a betrothal between his daughter and some Muppet to back Rhaenys for the throne. fresh off of losing his father and currently consolidating support for his brother, Daemon wants someone to blame and kills Corlys.

- Daemon and Aegon (Viserys I) try to jump Rhaenys at Rook’s Rest, but she gets her way out of the trap and manages to take down Aegon’s dragon and severely injure him in the process. Aegon goes back to KL to rule and protect his daughter Rhaenyra, Daemon spends the rest of the time flying around the riverlands and lighting stuff on fire.

- while all of this is happening, there’s also an extended naval conflict between the Targannister faction, which exists, Viserra has a dragon(this is my mind palace i make the rules) and the Saera chaos faction. Two battles there:

1. combined Greyjoy/Triarchy chaos faction, almost successfully take Casterly Rock while Viserra is down by the gullet and little Jaeson (lol) tries to flee on his dragon at which point Saera’s daughter Aerea takes him down. However he just barely survives even though he loses his dragon, and the last man ended up killing Aerea, who is pinned down in enemy territory in the keep.

2. While trying to break the Triarchy blockade of the Gullet for her nephew who holds King’s Landing, Viserra and Saera have a dragon fight. Balerion is old and slow and unwieldy: takes a few scorpion bolts meant for Vermithor and goes down. Viserra and a severely injured Vermithor go down as well, some historians argue she was trying to save her drowning sister. Who knows.

- With both other factions, looking pretty bad, Rhaenys takes King’s Landing: Aegon (Viserys I) dies here, but his 10-year-old daughter Rhaenyra is able to see the city on her dragon. However, Syraxis very young at the time and takes a few hits which get infected and dies right after they makes it to the Eyrie.

- Daemon and Rhaenys kill each other over the gods eye on their parents’ dragons.

- Some variation of the storming of the dragonpit happens. Laenor and Laena successfully flee to Dragonstone, but Silverwing and Seasmoke do not :(

- No longer worried about being burned by Daemon. The Riverlands, Crownlands, and Stormlands forces are able to muster enough troops to actually get to Kings Landing and restore order.

- The war ends when they put Laenor on the throne. it ends with the wedding of Laenor and Rhaenyra to create some form of stability after everything.

- They have three kids “together.” Baela the Bdefiant, future mother of Daena Darksister, Jakey who dies in dorne with cregan stark, and Joffrey the religious freak.

- Laena stays in KL and later becomes master of coin.

- Saera’s son Viserys II is in Volantis and comes to King’s Landing with his wife Larra Rogare and their son Aegon to serve as Laenor and Jake and Joffrey’s hand after they extend an olive branch.

- The Targannister kids technically survived but lose their dragons so they’re just sort of like well you guys didn’t see any of that. we’re just lannisters now.

hiii, i have seen lot of ideas where the dance never happens like rhaenyra having a succesful reign, happy marriage life for jace-baela/ luke-rhaena. i think it would be funny if viserys run away to lys in a saera style for the drama, well my point is i like your au's so i wanted to know if you have headcanons for team black where the dance of the dragons never happened

There are many scenarios I could think of, actually...

And it depends how you want to see it because there are things that if erased creates more advantages and new situations, but could still stop the war.

1. Alicent accepts Rhaenyra's proposal of betrothing Jace and Helaena.

And Baela is betrothed to a Velaryon cousin (not a son of Vaemond due his infamy of wanting to take Driftmark from Corlys and his line), like a grandson of Malentine Velaryon (Maelor Velaryon; it's most likely Maelor is a Velaryon name; the son of Maerax Velaryon son of Malentine Velaryon) to support the claim of Lucerys and back him

With Helaena becoming Queen consort she gives legitimacy to Jace's reign as well as Alicent getting her daughter as Queen consort, and with Baela being a backbone with the Velaryons then Luke will receive support as the Lord of Driftmark with Rhaena as Lucerys' wife as well; Jace's children could marry Baela's children and Joffrey as well marries one of the daughters of Baela to further legitimize his line.

Baela would be a lady-in-waiting for Helaena, and together they would arrange the betrothal of their children.

2. Jace marries Baela (now Daemon sees his daughter as Queen), Lucerys still marries Rhaena, and the children of Luke and Rhaena marry the children of Joff.

Now, in all of the scenarios present Aegon III would marry Daenaera as an alliance (they would always marry each other), and Viserys II would marry his niece Daena <<Daena deserved to become The Queen and be the mother of Daeron II and Daenerys, and of the whole dynasty>> to unite their bloodlines; and if baby Visenya survives, then Viserys would marry her (the original plan of Martin), and their son would marry their niece Daena to once again unite the bloodline with Daena being Queen and having her uncle and aunt as Hand and counselors.

3. Other possible scenario but this time after Rhaenyra: Aegon the Younger calls for a High Council once Rhaenyra dies peacefully, and he is chosen as king as the oldest legitimate son of Rhaenyra (Jace would no longer have the protection of Rhaenyra), Baela gets to Maelor Velaryon, and she becomes the Lady of Driftmark as a consort (we know Corlys would never choose her, but he could choose a great-great-nephew he liked), while Rhaena marries Corwyn Corbray, and Viserys would still marry either Visenya or Daena; but even then Aegon III would have mercy and spare the lives of Jace, Luke and Joffrey, and they would be married off to minor ladies.

Honestly, in the second and third scenarios I have to admit I think Aegon would eventually reach for the Throne because legitimately it is his.

Anyways, Rhaena's children would marry Baela's children, and Rhaena and Baela would be councilors to both Aegon III and Viserys II Targaryen.

I think it would be nice to see Daena or Visenya matching Viserys' fire and having a partner who is an equal and loves and supports him since he would be spared being a hostage of three different Lyseni families that threatened him and also would spare Westeros of the Rogare family, Aegon the Unworthy and the Blackfyre Rebellions.

Either way any of these relationships would mirror that of Baelon and Alyssa or Daemon and Rhaenyra.

But beyond that, Baela would be happy to become Lady of Driftmark, this time in a happy marriage, and would have a husband devoted to her; she would name her first daughter in honor of her mother and first son in honor of her grandfather Corlys; and Laena would be the grandmother of Aelinor Penrose through a daughter of hers (HC: Coryssa Velaryon) who married into House Penrose.

Rhaena would be free of the pressure of providing an heir quickly and therefore her first baby would be born, and would be able to use her dragon to quell the protestors against Joffrey Arryn (the heir of Jeyne Arryn) and Corwyn would live.

Baela would always introduce Daenaera to Aegon III, and Rhaena would take Viserys II on travels to Dragonstone and the whole realm.

Once Viserys II comes back, (if Visenya is not alive) Daena would meet him and they would fall in love and marry.

Baela's favorite niece would be Daena, followed by the daughters of her sister Rhaena, whereas Rhaena's favorite niece would be her little namesake.

Without the trauma of Larra Rogare and the need to overcompensate due to their involvement, Viserys II would see the practicality in sending Baelor to a Sept and therefore there would be no Maidenvault, and no threat of a religious war with the Stepstones, the Iron Isles and the North, as well as no disbalance of taxes going to the High Septons.

Rhaenyra and Daemon would be able to meet their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and if Rhaenyra's daughter survives, Rhaenyra would have loved spoiling her little princess.

If Baela and Rhaena's full younger brother survives as well, this little boy called Aemon in honor of his great-grandfather, would be completely loyal to his half-brothers Aegon the Younger and Viserys, he would have a keep of his own in the Crownlands given by Rhaenyra so he doesn't compete against the Strong boys

But even then, Aemon would support his legitimate younger brother's birthright.

If Aemon lives, he would marry Maris Baratheon and that's one more ally for the Blacks.

Aemon would claim Grey Ghost itself or steal one of its eggs, he's the son of Daemon and Laena after all, and want to fight but he would be beat to it by Baela.

Aemon would be a male mini-Laena being as adventurous, smooth and demure as his mother, and his sisters would tell him stories about their mother.

Viserys would claim Vermithor and if Visenya lives, then she can claim Silverwing, and Daena and Rhaena could get one of the other dragon eggs of their aunt Rhaena, Elaena's egg could also hatch as well.

Baela would get a new dragon from one of the eggs of Morning as well.

Daemon would teach all of his sons how to fight and encourage them to embrace chaos.

Baela and Rhaena would spoil their little sister Visenya, and as Baela is a tomboy and Rhaena a girl's girl, I like to think Visenya would be kind of an introvert with a stylish witch vibe.

Viserys II would bring his mother many treasures he found on his travels.

And without the trauma of seeing Rhaenyra die, Aegon would proudly wear the crown of Rhaenyra and Daena would wear it as well.

And Visenya would get special tiaras for herself and Viserys as the second and third in command of Aegon III and later Daena.

And I guess these are my headcanons.

So how would Baelon and Visenya do if they got incarnated into entirely alien universes? Idk what you’re into, throw a random combo at us. Marvel? Supernatural? NBC’s Hannibal? Teen Wolf? Smallville?

We are just going to grant them the grace of making them not related in this because I’m in a good mood and they’ve been through enough.

And I have seen all of these shows except Smallville and Hannibal, but I’m just going to do Marvel because I think it’d end up being the longest version. If someone wants to hear the others too, I’m more than willing lol

I actually think this one would be so fun if we make Valyria a real place that doesn’t exist anymore, and people with Valyrian ancestry have all but forgotten anything about their heritage because the Doom happened so long ago.

But Baelon’s family (son of Viserys, Alicent is his stepmom, Targtowers are his younger siblings that he loves but also wants to drown) haven’t. They know their shit, they know what Dragonstone is, and they’ve spent every generation desperately trying to bring back dragons because they’re kind of like a cult!

Visenya, meanwhile, is just a plucky little Valyrian history nerd who is like majoring in Valyrian history and has taught herself to speak Valyrian and is the eldest of four (Rhaenyra and Harwin because I SAID SO) and constantly is like “THEY RODE DRAGONS” and Jace and Luke are like “we love you. we love you. get a life”

And then one day Aemond comes sock-skating into Baelon’s room brandishing a fucking scroll he pulled out of the wall or something, basically going “I FIGURED IT OUT” and their entire family is like “oh shit we figured it out” and then Aegon points out that one passage and is like “it says if you fail you die i nominate Aemond”

And Viserys is bedridden so Daemon is in charge because all the kids are still young (Baelon’s 26! He’s offended! But he also doesn’t want to do it so whatever) and Daemon decides they’ll just experiment on someone else with Valyrian ancestry from outside the family so if it works they can kill them (because it is only a Their Family Thing, they’ve decided) and if it doesn’t no one important dies.

And what they come upon is Visenya, who is a Targaryen like them (similar to how so many people are named White but unrelated) and a huge Valyrian nerd and has the heritage and they go “yes. that one.” and, just their luck, she’s put in a request to use their archives to write her thesis. And they always always reject these requests, but they accept hers, and she’s too busy being excited to care why.

And Baelon goes to pick her up from the airport because Daemon doesn’t trust the chauffeurs, and it’s just. There’s a very pretty girl who looks at his Avengers t-shirt and is like “Bruce Banner was a guest lecturer on my campus once” and she smiles, and he is very upset she is going to die because he thinks he kind of wants to take her to Italy or something! It’s a confusing car ride!

And it…takes awhile, to get everything ready. The spell Aemond found had provisions and special criteria that have to be met, and there’s gotta be a certain amount of blood in the air, and it takes a hot minute to get everything ready.

And he and Visenya are just. Hanging out a lot in that time period. Which is a bad idea! She’s got a time limit! But she’s just funny, and she’s nice to his little sister, and she keeps telling him fucked up facts that shouldn’t be interesting but are, and they bond over the lingering trauma of Daeron/Joffrey getting snapped, and he keeps catching himself just daydreaming about holding her hand. And they fall in love because they’re Baelon and Visenya and they always fall in love!

and then they kiss for the first time and he pulls away and he goes: I have to tell you something.

And he tells her the plan, which is supposed to happen in about a few days from then, about how they think they can bring the dragons back but it’s really dangerous and she’s the

And she goes I GET A DRAGON?? and he’s like “well actually if you succeed my uncle still wants to kill you, and I was super against that btw” and she goes “because killing people or because killing me” and he laughs uncomfortably and says “maybe you should just get on a plane”

But no! She wants a dragon! That is an option and she is taking it, are you kidding, and so she makes him read her all the provisions and show her the one they’re still working on, and she’s like “the ancestral dragonglass knife is probably a suggestion, i have a pocketknife let’s wing it” and he’s like “oh dear God” but she’s already leaving and what’s he gonna do? Not follow? Please.

and so they do the thing. but at the last minute Baelon is like “okay fuck this i OWN this volcano i want a dragon too” and she’s like “well your dad does, nepo baby, but if you say so” and it works.

see, myths change. folklore gets warped. everything says the Valyrians rode dragons, but that just…isn’t exactly right.

turns out, if you fail you die because turning into a twelve ton fire-breathing lizard with wings is super hard on the immune system.

they are both very disoriented.

Baelon: oh yeah baby my bad i wasn’t aware we could GROW WINGS)

and naturally Daemon finds out immediately , because it’s a Marvel movie and ofc he does, and trying to escape the volcano and then the island when they don’t know how flying works and are trying to keep Visenya from getting killed is super complicated, actually, and there’s a whole thing where Baelon almost accidentally sets Aemond on fire (he lives dont worry but that is how he loses his eye), and then it turns out there’s a time limit and they turn back to people which is BAD because now they’re outnumbered without any advantage at all.

But they make it to the docks because Baelon has a boat, because, again, nepotism, and every rich white man in his 20s owns a boat, and it’s Daemon chasing them, and Baelon has a split second of “yk maybe betraying my entire family for a girl i met six months ago is a little far” but then Daemon shoots a gun and it hits her in the shoulder and he decides it is perfectly far, actually, and then there’s a fight and he thinks Daemon’s dead and kind of just kicks him into the water.

And then they boat away into the distance in silence, and naturally learning to be dragons sometimes is not something easily hidden, so they spend a lot of time on the news even though no one knows who it is turning into dragons. also running from people that his family sends after him, and occasionally killing them because when part of you kind of wants to eat everyone you see, you get less squeamish about it. They do eventually get married. Brigit still thinks it is very dumb.

And the next time aliens invade or something , Baelon opens the door and sees goddamn Sam Wilson, and he’s like “OH MY GOD????”

And then they roast some aliens. Baelon gets to meet Rocket, and he is so excited he is almost crying, and Visenya is much too busy interrogating Thor to care. They’re not e x a c t l y avengers because they’re too blase about people dying, but they are frequently utilized by them which is basically the same thing.

Naturally the rest of Baelon’s family does the stupid ritual and it kills his already sick dad but it turns out Daemon’s alive and that’s the plot of the second movie. They are accompanied by Spiderman in that one because I have the power to do that, and also at some point the multiverse breaks again and they meet themselves as incestuous twins and it is very disorienting for them.

When people draw parallels between characters from the Dance and characters from the main story, I often see comparisons between Dany/Rhaenyra, Young Griff/Aegon II and Cersei/Rhaenyra. However, I don’t recall ever seeing comparisons between two of the most iconic Queen Mothers of ASOIAF, Cersei Lannister and Alicent Hightower. They share very interesting parallels:

Both Cersei and Alicent are associated with the color green - Cersei because of her emerald green eyes and her fascination with wildfire and Alicent because of her famous green gown, which inspired the name of Aegon’s political faction (the “greens”).

Both Cersei and Alicent belong to two of the richest and most powerful noble families of Westeros (House Lannister and House Hightower).

Both Cersei and Alicent are daughters of a lord who served as Hand to three kings (Tywin was Hand to Aerys II, Joffrey and Tommen; Otto was Hand to Jaehaerys I, Viserys I and Aegon II).

Both Cersei and Alicent used their positions to promote their relatives and get them into good positions (e.g., Jaime was named Warden of the East, Lancel and Tyrek became Robert's squires and Ned noted that "the Lannister appetite for offices and honors seemed to know no bounds"; Alicent's father Otto is named King's Hand and her brother Gwayne becomes second-in-command of the City Watch of King's Landing).

Both Cersei and Alicent were wives to people-pleasing kings (Robert and Viserys I) whose fathers died unexpectedly, who grew up without expecting to ascend the throne (in Viserys's case, not as soon as it happened, because Baelon's death was very sudden) and whose fiancée/first wife died in childbirth (Lyanna and Aemma).

Both Cersei and Alicent have firstborn children (Joffrey and Aegon II) whose claims to the Iron Throne aren’t universally accepted; Joffrey because of the doubts regarding his parentage and Aegon because of his older sister Rhaenyra.

Both Cersei and Alicent were rivals and enemies of two younger queens (Margaery and Rhaenyra). All four of them vied for the king’s attention (Tommen and Viserys I). In the future, Cersei will most likely clash against a Targaryen queen regnant, just like Alicent did in the past (Daenerys and Rhaenyra).

Both Cersei and Alicent played a part in their husbands’ deaths (Cersei had Lancel give Robert fortified wine to cause an accident with the boar; Alicent allegedly poisoned Viserys’s hippocras).

After their husbands’ deaths, both Cersei and Alicent took quick measures to guarantee that their sons would succeed the previous kings (Cersei seizes power, arrests Ned Stark and leads the small council; Alicent keeps Viserys’s death a secret, assembles a small council and holds a coronation for her children). Two lords who opposed their sons' ascensions were killed despite the queens having not ordered their deaths (Ned Stark and Lyman Beesbury).

Both Cersei’s and Alicent’s sons enjoy the support of Houses Lannister, Baratheon and Hightower (after Renly dies) during their wars.

Both Cersei’s and Alicent’s sons (Joffrey and Aegon) become frustrated and clash with their grandfathers (Tywin and Otto) because they favor war and immediate action over planning and writing letters to make alliances.

Both Cersei’s and Alicent’s sons (Joffrey and Aegon) die poisoned.

Both Cersei and Alicent had a lot of political influence during the reigns of their sons, which is often acknowledged in-universe.

Both Cersei and Alicent are ruthless, to the point of having no qualms about killing children (Cersei kills Robert's bastards and Alicent advises her grand-daughter Jaehaera to kill 11-year-old Aegon III).

Both Cersei and Alicent will (most likely) outlive all of their children.

Of course, these parallels aren’t 1-to-1; they never are. Cersei is not (f)Aegon’s mother nor the wife of a Targaryen king, which is primarily why most people miss out on all these parallels. Cersei is incompetent while Alicent was not. Cersei will probably die during the war for the Iron Throne, while Alicent outlived the events of the Dance. And, ironically, House Hightower is a vassal of House Tyrell, which, as we know, is the family of Cersei’s rival Margaery (whose mother is also a Hightower).

That being said, these parallels are still very significant. It’s often assumed that the second Dance of the Dragons will refer to Dany versus Young Griff or Dany versus Euron (after he presumably takes control of one of Dany's dragons) or a conflict involving two literal dragons. However, considering how often GRRM mentioned Daenerys and Cersei together to emphasize that they were deliberately written by him as foils, I think it’s interesting to consider the possibility that the second Dance may actually (or also) refer to, once again, two queens; Rhaenyra with the Blacks and Alicent (who had such a big influence on the war that she outshone her son) with the Greens in the past and now Daenerys and Cersei (who might end up being a more important political player than (f)Aegon, but don't ask me how or why because I don't think we have enough information to speculate on the specific circumstances. Maybe Euron will take control of a dragon and Cersei will ally herself with him in the books too, for example... I don't think Cersei should be counted out just yet) in the present. It's a more interesting outcome for me because a) Cersei is more important and more interesting as a character than (f)Aegon and b) it would be a culmination of all these parallels and antiparallels that the author wrote for her and Dany throughout all of these books, especially during AFFC/ADWD.
