Mutant Mashup Au: Ninpo explanation

Y'all know about the power the Rise boys get once they unlock their ninpo. But in Mutant Mashup, the 2012 boys get some powers too (Draxum Clutch Tm).

Large bodies of text ahead, be warned!

At the moment, the Rise fam retains the same ninpo abilities as in canon (Red: holographic constructs, Purple: mystic tech, Blue: portals, Orange: mystic chains). If you watched the show you know that Orange (Rise Mikey) gets mystic chains and fire, but in the Au he only has his chains. A small but important change.

The 2012 boys are the Rise fam's cousins so they get ninpo too, which is more geared towards the elements. I think I'd be fun if their mystic weapon's amplified their mystic powers to dangerous levels. Draxum likely kept the weapons locked up as they were "too destructive" when compared to the Rise fam's weapons.

DaVinci's ninpo is water/air. When using his mystic weapon (a pair of tekko-kagi claws), Vin can create violent whirlwinds that can throw enemies around. These winds don't affect Vin's family unless he is trying to catch them or himself. The claws grow or shrink depending on how Vin is feeling so if he feels super angry then the claws sharpen and grow longer. Once the claws are destroyed by Shredder, Vin unlocks another aspect of his ninpo which is basically water bending. He can pressurize the water to the point it can cut through anything. When Vin combines both powers he goes full typhoon mode.

Sanzio's ninpo is fire. His mystic weapon are a pair of gauntlets and can shoot fire from his fists or even breathe fire. These flames can be all consuming and Zio can't always control them once lit, but he learns how to temper them over time. Sometimes the flames burn his family so Zio isn't too keen on using them at first, but that changes once the gauntlets are broken. After the gauntlets break, Sanzio can set himself on fire for a limited time, his tolerance builds up as he ages. More importantly, Zio has more control over what his flames burn and how strongly they do burn. (Yoshi doesn't like his ninpo unfortunately, it reminds him too much of what happened to Miwa and Tang Shen)

Niccolo's ninpo is earth. His weapon is a two sided battle axe that can "shatter the earth." (Nico tried using the mystic weapon Purple was supposed to get but it didn't work for whatever reason). If Nico hits the ground, everything starts shaking, kinda like a mini earthquake. This kicks up a lot of spikey rocks that Nico can send over to the enemy, a bit like his family's ninja stars. Due to the near permanent results of his ninpo, Nico doesn't use it all too much which irritates him. Once the axe breaks, Nico can finally do what he always does, create something new. He can still cause earthquakes and force large rocks to jutt out of the ground, but he can also reshape the earth into whatever he needs and even walk through magma, though only for a limited time and with proper mental preparation. Nico starts off by making small lab assists but as he grows, he can create huge Kaiju sized golems.

Simoni's ninpo is electricity. His mystic weapon is a scorpion chain that helps him electrocute baddies from a distance. The first time Simon used his ninpo he took out the entire city's power grid. It was fixed really quick but Simoni's electric current was way too strong to be used around machines (Nico and Purple were paranoid for weeks). Thankfully, Simon got more control over the power output once the his weapon broke. Simon can now use his ninpo to tether things together and keep them in place, a little like a spider web (Big Mama absolutely loves this). The things Simon can do are simple but versatile like creating electric ropes only he can walk on or dangle from. His ninpo can give him a little burst of speed which he exploits a lot when running away from his bros. Maybe Simon can sense things a lot faster then everyone, probably because he can feel the electricity in the air or something.

My fave artists are lana del rey, abba, phoebe bridgers, hozier, green day, boygenius, sufjan stevens, mazzy star, marina, red hot chili peppers, sharon van etten, cigs after sex, arctic monkeys, the cranberries. And some hindi music artists.

Im fluent in 2 languages and can understand and speak broken urdu, sanskrit and punjabi

My fave seasons are fall, summer and spring, im an aquarius and bisexual, eldest daughter, desi (indian) im a chai person, hate coffee and street food is my absolute reason for living, im really into fashion and wanna be a fashion stylist

Today I beat "Teenage Super Ninja Plumbers", a romhack of Super Mario Bros for the NES by NESDraug. It's pretty short, but very well made.

In case it wasn't obvious, it's a Super Mario Bros game that is themed around the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... particularly, the original NES game, as the music is changed to be a mashup of Super Mario Bros. music and music from the original NES game, all the baddies are now turtle themed, except for one or two of them, there's only four worlds, and all of them have a Ninja Turtle as the boss, I think you're saving April at the end? It's not peach, but it doesn't exactly look like any veresion of April I know. Mario is also wearing a "ninja" outfit and his fireballs become ninja stars.

This feels like a pretty big love letter to the NES given how big both Mario and the first TMNT were. I would give it a big recommend, unless seeing the turtles as "the bad guys" would upset you.

OK, read all Hell's kitchen Paradise 127 chapters and I loved it! Before I go into spoiler-y territory I do rec this manga but only if you are 18+ and you like mangas like chainsaw man or dorohedoro because of the level of violence, body horror (or maybe gore?) and the heavy themes, do check before reading!

SPOILERS:

Yuzuhira/Sagirin are in love and traveling japan together🥰🥰 Anyway saw that is an anime coming so I'm hoping their few interactions aren't cut out for more boobas.

I love that gabimaru's love for his wife was constant throughout the series but also that it was the source of his power in a sense and the reason why the baddies were defeated. It was sweet.

The aza brothers! OH BOY if we talk about character arcs these two get the prize, the sanemi/bakugou looking brother "ending" was perfect ( specially him apologizing to his parents for all his sins BUT he knew he was always a good big brother, UGH MY EYES) thats why I'm not so sure about the actual ending, like the emotional weight of it was partly gone bc he "survived". Talking about sanemi (kny manga spoilers), Chobe's arc is what I wanted for sanemi and why his arc with best boy genya doesn't feel as satisfying as chobe and toma's! we are to believe that genya is super important to sanemi but we barely see that unless is on flashbacks when they were much younger 🤷‍♀️ Also chobe may look like sanemi and bakugou with a little of their explosive nasty personality but his heart is like choso's🥺

My little nitpicks are sagirin could've have more cool moments if she was "more powerful than gabimaru" . And if you are showing this amount female presenting nips show me the other types of nips. There is a lot of religious mashups that truly never get into too deep which is a shame but understandable since the story is short (tho 127 pages of this quality art isn't a small feat).

The other characters: I would've wanted more of shugen specially his relationship with sagiri, he is the reason why the only two women of the clan are samurai. Plus his relationship with others that aren't all in flashbacks but I guess you weren't suppose to get attached to the character? Fuchi is the only death I dislike, weird little science dude would've given so much contribution to society. For Shion im sooooooooo relieved his ending isn't marrying nurugai djflk, he's too cute to turn into a creep. I guess I didn't expect much from this other than to be fun! Which it was and that's why I'm ok with ignoring some bs😂. I don't take it too seriously because it doesn't had the space to do that or go in depth as much, and I think sometimes stories CAN be just fun not every story has to be deep or wrinkle your brain.

Anyway read Hell's Paradise, or wait for the anime? Either way its on manga plus app and 9 out of 13 volumes are in comixology! Thanks for reading my ramblings🥰

Heroic Sacrifice and accidentally saving the day

Hmm it would be set on a super hero AU where the villian only has one power and is actually doing overly nice things when trying to be evil.

I'd like to see Alfred being that villian, trying really hard to convince Ivan (the hero lol) that he's evil™

Ivan would put up with him because it's amusing to see how his plans turn into good deeds (he's not a bad guy after all and maybe, just maybe, he's cute) and also because it's a relief from the actual evil supervillain of the city (for this one I'm not sure who could it be, maybe Ludwig with an army of robots idk)

The heroic sacrifice would be Ivan falling into the plan of the actual evil villain as a way of baiting Alfred to help against them and become a hero himself (because "how dare you take my nemesis away from me? Nobody can kill him except me!)

So Alfred would make his plan at showing that he's the baddest villain in the city, trying to kidnap Ivan from the other villian (yes, kidnap because he'll never ever rescue the hero, that wouldn't be evil) and by doing so, he completely messes with the others plan, releasing the hero and kicking some baddies asses.

At the end, Alfred would consider the idea of becoming a hero, relishing on the acclamations he'll receive after saving the city, only to be put for a short period of time on jail, probably doing community service or smth. He'll keep his "evil" ways, cheating on his tasks but with good outcomes (like if he has to pick up garbage, he'll end up creating a more efficient system for that) and he'll get to spend more time with the hero as Ivan will keep an eye on him (wdym supervisors are not supposed to help you snd chat with you and laugh at your jokes? We're just enemies bonding over unpaid labor, nothing to see here)

So practically is like megamind plot with small changes lol
