“We’re back,” Wayne calls when he steps through the door. Holding it open for Eddie, who is  insisting that he can walk through by himself. Which he can, his muscles are fully capable of that now. It’s the pain that’s the problem.

At least, that’s what the doctors say. Eddie’s muscles have grown back to the state they were in before the coma. He was fully healed from that regard. It’s what put him in one that’s the larger problem. The lifelong problem.

Eddie has nerve damage. In his legs, in his arms, and minorly in his abdomen. It will affect him for the rest of his life. There’s no official healing from this. Nothing they can do.

All that can be done is find ways to cope with it. Get Eddie the aids he needs for the days his legs are weaker. Keep growing his muscles, so they get stronger. Help regain his balance. Learn to move around with different walking aids.

But none of it will cure it. Eddie will never walk the same again. He’ll never live the same. His life is forever changed.

“I got it,” Eddie snaps. Pushing Wayne away. Forcing himself to walk on his own. With his crutches. A wince with each step.

They offered to let them borrow a wheelchair, but Eddie refused. Wayne tried to push, but there was nothing he could do to change Eddie’s mind.

Eddie slams his bedroom door, locking himself in. There’s the faint whisper of music that sneaks underneath the door. Loud and angry. Wayne’s surprised the radio isn’t turned all the way up, making the house shake. The last time he did that though, it caused Steve to have a migraine. The kid was too nice to say anything about it, Wayne was the one that had to remind Eddie of the rules.

This was not their house, he couldn’t just do what he wanted because he was angry. He could be angry all he wanted, Wayne was to, but he couldn’t hurt people because of that.

“I’m guessing it didn’t go well.” Steve stares down the hallway.

He shakes his head. “It’s a lot worse than we hoped.”

Steve lets out a deep exhale. “Dustin’s here, I’m going to give him a ride home and then we can talk about this before you go to work.”

Wayne nods. His body heavier than he left. His world a little darker than it was before. This wasn’t life ending. He should be grateful for that.

He lands in the kitchen, pulling a beer out of the fridge. Downing it faster than he’d like to, and grabs another. Savors this one. Sits down at the island and watches the condensation form.

Ten minutes later, Steve comes back. Grabs a beer of his own and sits next to Wayne.

“The kid ok?” Wayne takes a sip.

Steve shakes his head. “Came here in the middle of a panic attack because I wasn’t at work. Thought I had another migraine. I didn’t know he cared that much about them.”

“That kid loves you, of course he cares about them. He cares about you.”

“I showed him the book,” Steve says with a long sip of his beer. “We agreed to talk about it more often, so it doesn’t happen again. Hopefully that will make it better for him.”

Wayne nods along. “Hope so.”

A clock tick in the background, filling the silence. The only sounds Wayne can hear is the ticking, and the music coming from down the hall. He might be mistaken, but he can almost hear the quiet sobs Eddie’s trying to hide.

“Be easy on him tonight,” Wayne says. “It’s going to be a while until he gets used to this.”

“What did they say?” Steve’s voice sounds hollow. Already anticipating the bad news.

Wayne swallows. “He has permanent nerve damage.”

“Fuck,” Steve exhales. He wasn’t ready to hear that.

No one was.

Sometimes the world likes to crowd Wayne with all his problems. Wave after wave after wave. Never a gentle stream, where the water keeps moving. Where the problems spread out evenly, so they aren’t as overwhelming.

No, Wayne’s life gets hit by tidal waves. All of his problems coming together at once to knock him down and suck him out to sea. Making him swim back to shore, just for it to happen all over again.

“Yeah. We had to order different crutches, the ones that go around the forearm. And a cane. For him to have options. His muscles aren’t the problem, it’s the pain. The balance. He’ll need them for the rest of his life.”

Wayne finishes his beer. Gets up, had to. Because he has to be at the plant in an hour for a shift he doesn’t want to go. He wants to be here. With his kid. To go through this change together.

He’s run out of sick days and PTO. He’s run out of favors. Every missed shift is a write up, and Wayne is so close to being able to afford a house. So close to getting them a real home. One that they’ve dreamed about but knew it would never be a reality.

Now, they were so close. And there’s this house that he has his eyes one. That he’s two weeks pay out from being able to afford. If they take his offer. It’s so close.

So he has to go. He has to. To make their lives better. To get them back on their own two feet. So life can get to their new normal.

He gets himself ready for work. He leaves the house and does his job. Clocks out after eight and a half excruciating hours and comes back home. Drags himself up the flight of stairs and falls into bed.

When he wakes up, there’s an argument in the kitchen. He can hear the yelling through the floor. He gets up to go deal with it.

“Well stop hovering and we won’t have a problem,” Eddie yells.

“How was I hovering?” Steve yells right back. “All I asked was if I could get you anything.”

Eddie scowls. “I can get things for myself, thank you very much.”

“It’s my house. Do you even know where everything is?”

“I’ve lived here for three fucking weeks, Harrington, I know where things are.”

Steve crosses his arms. “Fine then. Go get it yourself. I was just trying to help.”

“I don’t need your help all the fucking time. I’m not fucking helpless.”

“Fine,” Steve snaps. Pushing himself off the counter and toward the door. “I won’t help then.”

“Good.”

“Good.”

Steve brushes past Wayne. So used to their fights now, he doesn’t even care that Wayne overheard. He shoves his shoes on and slams the door behind him. Going out to clear his head.

Wayne sighs. This has been happening more and more. Eddie won’t take help from either of them, but he hates it more when it’s Steve. Steve’s able to fight back in the way Eddie wants. Him finding the right nerves to get under his skin. Hurt them both out of anger.

He was sick of it. There was a fight almost every day now. Over something stupid. Over Eddie’s pride mixed with his pain.

“I don’t want to hear it,” Eddie grumbles when Wayne enters the kitchen.

“Too bad.” Wayne crosses his arms, fed up. “I’m fed up with your shit.”

Eddie glares at him, tears in his eyes. He pushes himself off the stool, grabbing his crutches. “I said I don’t want to hear it.” He walks down the hall and slams the door. Locking it behind him.

Hold on- Let me get some water. C: Did you lie? LYN: No- I had something to eat before I started streaming. Maybe I inhaled it too quickly. I was afraid I wouldn’t have the strength to keep streaming, so I thought I’d eat something beforehand. So I’ll.. stream for a little while today. Someone also said, “you’re finally streaming” and I don’t think “finally” is appropriate, is it? I streamed only a few days ago, it hasn’t been that long. I’ve got to make sure you’re well fed. I’m sure that there are no other artists out there like me, who come to stream when they have nothing better to do. 

C: You’re pink and soft~ LYN: Yes~ After all some of you have spent six- though I’ve debuted for six years, this is the seventh 817 together. You’ve grown with me for seven years! Think about it. If one of you were 35 years old when you first starting liking me back then, and have stuck with me to this day, then you’d be (at least) 41 now. Isn’t that right? If you were 18 when you first started liking me, then this year you’d be… 18 + 6… 24 years old. You’ve probably started a job now, huh? So I wanted to dress young so that we collectively feel younger. C: This is my fifth 817. LYN: For some, this could be their first. Second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh. There might even be an eighth. C: I was 14 when I started liking you. LYN: Then, adding six years you’d be… 20 this year. How nice.

LYN: For the friends who are new or for the people who are just passing by and have unknowingly found themselves here- what is 817? It’s not a particularly special day, but for my fans and I, it is. People are wondering why 817 is a fan-day? It’s because the year I debuted, I had held a fanmeet. I invited a lot of people- I think it was 300? We set 8/17 every year as a festival for my fans. It’s quite a happy thing. Every year around this time, we can be happy and spend it a little like a festival- it’s a holiday of our own. LYN: There are many of my fans grouped in all different locations. For example- I won’t be naming any specific locations. Because if I say, “Shanghai, Beijing, Liaoning”- once I start naming cities and provinces, then I have to name them all. For example, I name Zhejiang, but not Henan. Then the fans in Henan will say, “What’s the big idea? Are you looking down on Henan fans? You don’t even want to mention us??” If I name Henan, but not Hebei: “Are you looking down on Hebei?” That’s not it. In the end I’d be naming them all. There are “sheds”- that is, my fan groups- in all different locations. On this day, 8/17, they’ll gather together to rent out a place, have a meal, and share their stories and the happiness they’ve gained from chasing the star known as Liu Yuning. They’ll use all their different dialects to describe how handsome and cool I am in their eyes. It’s that sort of festival, where they flatter me. No- I can’t say it like that. It’s where they make plans for the next 817 festival day. LYN: It’s just a small get-together for my fans, and they spend it happily. I’ve seen that some rent out a place, and even a huge screen. It’s like a wedding venue! Also, I was thinking- would it be bad of me to stream at this time? Because I’m sure that even at this moment, there are groups that are still in the midst of their gathering. Possibly, many of them are watching right now through their phones, or if they have a big screen maybe they’ll cast this to the screen to watch my stream. Right? :D Look- we’re even interacting. If there are people watching me right now, I’m sure they’d have all collectively answered, “Right!” It’s like a concert, now. LYN: I hope- I’m guessing- that the places you’ve rented out are private spaces? Because if it’s a public space and there are other guests in the area, they’re probably thinking that I’m crazy. You all also don’t look very sane. So, I hope you can be more discreet.

LYN: But I was wondering if it would be okay for me to stream at this time, because it’s past 8p, almost 9p. Tjey probably started eating around 6p or 7p, and eating would take about an hour. Many of my fans, though female, have probably already started drinking. I was afraid that many of you’d already be… so happy you’re dizzy with it. [read: drunk] If you’re watching my stream on top of that, too much excitement might not be a good thing. C: I can drink more than you! LYN: I’m sure you can. I’m peanuts- my tolerance is no good. I’m SURE you can drink more than I can, you don’t need to compare. There’s no need.

LYN: Alright, well. Ning-ge will use water as wine and make a toast to you all. Let’s all raise our cups! You- drink water or soft drinks, if you can. Grab your cola or sprite and let’s go. Here’s to you. Happy Holiday! C: Use tea as wine. LYN: Okay, okay. C: Ganbei! Ganbei, lao-da! LYN: Some of you started a chant: “Drain it! Drain it!” This type of person- that’s not very good of you. You think you’re being very enthusiastic, but we’re trying to get people to NOT drink. Also- I’m drinking water, not wine. We’re not limiting water- drink as much as you want. If our emotions are deep, then- ?? Why did I say that? Well, it doesn’t matter. Let’s go. If our emotions are deep, then down it in one shot. If our emotions are shallow, then just sip. (感情深���口闷; 感情浅，舔一舔.) - /drains his glass but also pours a little water on his keyboard/ LYN: (acting drunk) /hurk/ Sorry- I drank too much, friends. I- My alcohol tolerance is really low. I can’t keep you company anymore, so- drink and be happy amongst yourselves. I can’t drink anymore. Look at how red my face is. I’m not a good drinker at all. I really can’t hold it. One glass and I’m out. You uh- if you want to drink, then you continue. Be happy.

LYN: Many of you are probably at home? I read a comment that said, “I just finished cleaning up the house and you started streaming.” That’s great. If you’re at home you can be nice and comfortable. Grab some snacks and we can spend a few relaxing and happy hours together. C: I’m on a diet. LYN: Oh, you’re on a diet? Then, restrain yourself a little. Don’t grab any snacks.

C: Ning-ge, did you drink? LYN: I just drank two mouthfuls of some water as wine, didn’t I? But I didn’t expect that it would go to my head. So, I didn’t drink but I am a little “drunk” with it.

C: Rang Jiu. LYN: I think today is also- what is it called- Daomi Festival, right? That is- a festival for fans of DMBJ. What a coincidence, that it’s the same day as my fan-day as well. Also coincidentally, I sang the song for Tomb of the Sea and have acted as Hei Yanjing. I think there’s some fate there. C: What a coincidence! LYN: It is! I don’t know if I’ll be able to sing it well, but how about I give it a try? I’ll try.

LYN: /laughs/ Do these make me look overly cute? Whatever, it doesn’t matter. At least it can cover how red my face will get, because this song is goes pretty high. -- 让酒 (Let the Wine) LYN: !!! It’s been too long since I last sang this song! I missed the timing for the chorus, sorry. Let me start from the top. Let’s stop the previous segment there, and then erase it. LYN: /pretending he’s drunk/ This is, ah- drinking and singing don’t mix well. But I didn’t drink any alcohol. I’m joking, friends. Oh, look. The producer (of the song) is Song Pengfei. C: Lao-da, read my comment and my heart’s wish will be fulfilled. LYN: You can’t say such things. There is no “fulfillment of your heart’s wish”- you will encounter so many different goals at different stages of your life. This might be your current wish, but you will have many more in the future.

C: (Wang) Yizhe saw your commentary. LYN: I know- he made a reaction video to my reaction. I saw it. It was fun. An interaction between friends.

C: Ning-ge, I want to watch your livestream- LYN: Let me imitate this friend’s way of speech. They’re probably a student, to have made such an innocent comment. [t/n: he uses the word “chunzhen”, yes- homophonous with the yogurt.] They said, “Ning-ge, should I do my homework, or watch your stream?” They asked such a question. I think it’s like this- definitely do your homework first. Your studies come first. As for my stream, there’s always the playback when it ends. When you’re finished with your homework you can lie down on your bed and watch. Or maybe tomorrow when you have the time. You don’t necessarily need to watch me stream live. There’s not really a difference between a live stream and a pre-recorded one. Actually, right at this moment you’re watching a recorded stream, it’s just that you don’t know it yet. This is recorded, and is just playing. You might see me sitting here now, but actually I’m outside eating some hotpot. 

C: But watching “live (at location)” has more feel. LYN: Are you watching a concert, what are you talking about, “live” has more feel??? It’s not worth it. This is all there is to a stream. Even though we are far apart, we’re just meeting through a screen- be that a phone or a computer or cast to a tv or tablet. There’s nothing to watching it “live (at location).”

C: Can you see our comments with those glasses on? LYN: Yes? Just because I’m wearing them doesn’t mean that I’m blind. How could I not see them??

C: Is your blush a filter or what? LYN: It’s a filter I turned on to match today’s pink shirt. /turns it off/ Now it’s normal. My face isn’t pink. It was a filter.

C: Lao-da, when will the soybean oil you owe me come into stock? LYN: My studio really did help me to buy oil and rice today. When I came home today they asked me if they should move the goods into my streaming room, so that I can show you that I have them prepared. I said, “Forget it.” Why? Because if you really start taking me seriously, then this would be a difficult thing to facilitate. Sometimes, and mostly in my streams, a lot of the things I say aren’t exactly outright joking but more abstract and you can’t tell. But I discovered that when I’m trying to be abstract and joking, there are really some people who are taking me seriously. I’m speaking in an abstract sense, but people are really believing it. So… I’m afraid that one day my joke will turn into a lifetime of silence. So I told them to forget it, because if I really bring oil and rice here today, you’re going to spread the news. Then, it will be that I secretly let some people receive theirs and some people don’t get any. Then people will stop checking in to the Super Topic (because they have no more expectations). I don’t need anyone really taking that promise seriously. I’d be in big trouble, then. C: You can only trust 20% of what he says. LYN: Yes. Only trust 20%

- /keeps “cheers-ing”/ LYN: Water as wine. Today we’re celebrating a holiday… C: Raising fish… // Drain it! LYN: /sigh/ It’s just water, what’s there to drain?? I don’t think I should have said what I did, earlier. “If our emotions are deep, then down it in one shot.” I shouldn’t have said it. Because now every time I pick up my cup I get the feeling you want me to drain it. LYN: If you’re going to keep making me do that, then the neighbors will be fighting soon. Very quickly. They’re going to start fighting. Hold on, let me pour more into the cup. But know that if you keep making me drain it, the neighbors are going to be fighting really soon. (t/n: he’ll need to go use the restroom, lmao) C: It’s okay, we have the videos.

C: How about spending the new year? (stream past 12a) LYN: I don’t think I will be able to stream for very long tonight. I have a bunch of scenes tomorrow to shoot, so I’ll stream until it’s about time and then go. Don’t try to force me to stay.

C: Lao-da, I can see your blackheads. LYN: That’s a bit much, isn’t it? Has the quality of the video increased so much that you can even see my blackheads?? That’s amazing.

LYN: (backtracking) So I thought I would forget it, and not show off any oil or rice. I was afraid if I showed you actual product, you all would start requesting your allocations. This venture is a little too large of a scale, I honestly don’t think I would be able to pull it off.

C: Ning-ge, smile at the camera so I can take a screenshot. LYN: /makes a crying face instead/

LYN: It’s another 817, yeah. LYN: We posted a video for the day, right? And in it there were a lot of clips, especially from my concert. I felt a little emotional seeing it, because it’s been five years ago now. I do miss it. So I was wondering if… it was about time for me to have my next concert. LYN: 1. I am, actually, a singer. So a concert is a must. 2. When I’m watching the video I really will feel a bunch of emotions and miss being in concert. I’ll start imagining what it was like in the venue. I really need to look into finishing up dramas this year and start working on my concert next. I should work on my music. C: Release your album first. LYN: Yes, very soon. Once this drama wraps I’ll go and finish up my album. We’ll make plans to post some things, and then it will be released. After it’s released we can just get the concert sorted out for next year and we’ll be set. That’s my current plan. - C: How many shows for Beijing? LYN: I don’t yet have the confidence to say that all my tickets will be sold out. I’m not like others, where a ticket is hard to acquire. For me, the concert goers are hard to acquire. If I open too many shows and no one buys the tickets I would die of embarassment. There’s no point if I’d be singing to myself. I’ve heard enough of that as is. So I was thinking just a moderate amount would be enough. One stop per city. As long as everyone can see me and I can perform well, that’s enough. C: Arrange more shows. I really won’t be able to fight for a ticket. LYN: That’s nonsense! Many of you always give me the misconception that my tickets are hard to get. The sales aren’t even open yet, and you’re already acting as if they’re sold out. Stop fooling me. I won’t believe it. - LYN: But after I saw that video (for 817), I thought I would finally start making plans to hold my concert next year. It’s about time, and something I should have been working on. LYN: So, I wanted to say that MAYBE next year I’ll hold my concert. Maybe. It’s still only a possibility right now. But the probability is high because I really want to have it.

C: Ning-ge, open reservations and let’s see how many you’ll need. LYN: Are there pre-reservations for concert tickets?? I don’t know about it. I mean, a reservation is fine but when actual sales open and people don’t finalize to buy the ticket, don’t we have the same problem?? So, let’s just see when the time comes. Keep feeding your piggybanks. LYN: I really think that the investment to go to a concert is really very high. It’s not as simple as tickets. Those can range from a few hundred to a few thousand (RMB). But the problem is that many of you are coming from surrounding areas to the city nearest you. There’s the ground transport and airfare, which could rack up to a few thousands. If you live close, maybe you can get away with just a train ticket. But then there’s the cost for hotel. It’s a lot of logistics and expenses to think about. It’s costly, so start saving up in your piggybanks. Once tickets sales are open, you can smash the piggy and rush over.

C: Lao-da, can minors attend? LYN: ? That, I really don’t know. Probably! A lot of my friends are mothers now, and my male fans are fathers- I always see them bringing their kids. I’m not too sure on how the tickets were sold, though. You should be able to buy tickets. I mean, there’s no- I can GUARANTEE that there will not be any nudity (or content not suitable for minors) at this concert. For example if I’m singing, and then all of a sudden it goes to my head and I rip my shirt off. There will be none of that happening, so I’m sure that minors can attend. There will probably be no such impulsive behaviors. C: Kids can buy tickets as normal. LYN: I think so, yeah.You should be able to go. I saw kids in my concerts all the time, so you should be able to come. Rest assured. LYN: Wait- because I said that there will not be any shirt-ripping, will that influence my ticket sales? That is- many of you were expecting to see something, but I told you there’s no chance, so you no longer look forward to it as much as you did before?

C: Where to buy tickets? LYN: You’ll find out later, when I’m ready to have the concert. I’ve only talking hypothetically, up until now. I saw the video for 817 and I missed those times. I’ve spent the last two years constantly shooting for dramas, and I think it’s about time that I work on my music now. C: You’ve spent the last five years shooting dramas. LYN: Yes, I have but I also sang a lot of OSTs. Still though, I haven’t released any of my own music, so I’m really very ashamed.

C: Ning-ge, do you need copyright to release/play a song? LYN: In my stream? Probably not? If I’m using it for business (profit) then that’s probably no. But if I’m just listening to it, there shouldn’t be any problem. My stream is strictly no business- I don’t “officially” promote dramas, I don’t try to sell you anything, and I don’t accept gifts. It’s just a normal entertainment stream, so playing some music in the background probably wouldn’t violate any copyright rules. Even if I did, I don’t think it would warrant anyone suing me?? LYN: Right now I am playing YoungCaptain’s song. I don’t expect him to sue me tomorrow. I don’t think it’s worth it. After all we have what counts as a small collaboration. This goes for anyone- I don’t think me playing their songs in my stream would garner such a severe reaction as them suing me. It’s not worth it.

C: Ning-ge, be the spokesperson for the cologne that you always use. LYN: ? You know, I alway see comments online saying, “Every time Ning-ge walks past us, he smells so nice!” ? “What cologne is he using??” I keep thinking about this and I- ??? I don’t think it’s me? It’s probably on YOU, and when I walk by I stir up the wind. So what you’re smelling is the other friends who are there. I don’t think it’s any smell of cologne from me. Probably when I walk by- breeze by- and what you’re smelling is the perfume from the fans before you. Then I bring the scent of whatever YOU’RE wearing to the person next to you. And so on and so forth. So you’ll never be able to tell exactly what scent it is. It’s the combined smell of countless perfumes that you all are wearing, not what I am wearing. LYN: If you ask me if I USE any cologne/perfume, of course I do, but mostly for events where I have to make an  appearance. So at the very least I don’t smell like sweat- I’d like to smell nice. But I always change it up. What’s the basis of this? Because sometimes I use my makeup artist’s. Sometimes I use my hair stylist’s. Sometimes I use my assistants’. Then sometimes I use my own. It’s not a sure thing, so there’s always a different scent. C: How much do you spray?? You must have to use a lot. LYN: Let me tell you- one time- you really shouldn’t spray too much perfume. If you put on too much it’s truly excruciating. One time I took a plane, and the person next to me had so much on. It smelled nice, sure. But I was almost choking on it- even through my face mask.

C: They’re watching A Lonely Hero’s Journey (Gu Zhou). LYN: Yes, probably. I didn’t clearly see what they were watching. It was probably GZ.

LYN: There’s someone who keeps wanting me to talk about my work- you can stop spamming. It’s endless. Why would I come to stream, just to chat about that? I don’t know what you’re thinking, asking me to “talk about this” and “how did you feel about that”. Are you crazy? Who am I, to talk about that stuff in my stream? I don’t know what you’re thinking, but stop spamming. LYN: How shameless do you think I am, to talk about those topics?? You really don’t consider me a stranger, do you. You’re still spamming. I’m not kidding. This is a matter of respect for this industry and for the people I’ve worked with.

Let’s not force it. - LYN: Someone just asked a profound question, “Is a trending topic that important?” Let me think of how to respond to that. If I say it’s not important would that be disrespectful to weibo, because being on such far-reaching network and to be trending is actually a huge form of support for an artist? But if I say it IS important, then there’s that added connotation of exploitation. If I say it’s important, then you’re going to think that the only reason I stream is so that I can be on the list of trending topics. It makes me look shallow. There’s no good way to answer this question. LYN: But I do want to say that it does have importance. Because if I am on the trending topics, people might see that and then make their way into my stream. They might not know me, or understand me, or only know of me only due to all the negative comments, but through a single stream- if they stay five or even ten minutes- it’s possible that their impression of me could change. Maybe they’d think, “LYN is not as annoying as I thought. He looks pretty normal, and not as bad as everyone is saying he is.” It’s like that. I believe the purpose of the trending topic is so that many more people get to know me and understand me. Once they know my name, perhaps in the future when I release a song or one of my dramas airs- they’ll check it out because they remember that they watched five minutes of my stream once. Every consumer is important. Each and every one of you is important. So, I still hope that I can have a trending topic, so that people can come to know of me.

C: I never thought a trending topic could influence so much… LYN: It’s not, really. It’s okay if I don’t have a topic, but if I had one it would be even better. It’s just icing on the cake, but life without it goes on as normal.

C: When will you come to Xinjiang? I’ll take you to eat delicious foods. LYN: Okay. I’ll go to play if I find the opportunity, and eat your delicious foods. 

C: Ning-ge, does Daimi lose her color? LYN: ?? Does she lose her color? Do you really think she’s a mop?? Actually… she has changed color. When I first got her, she was black and white. But as I continued raising her, she’s turned grey and white. I think part of the reason for this is maybe what we’re feeding her, which has caused her color to not be as black and shiny as before. She doesn’t really eat dog food. She eats sausages- that’s her main source of sustenance. She’ll only eat dog food if you hand feed it to her. She might not eat it if you give her two pieces at once. You have to feed her piece by piece. When she’s had enough she’ll stop. She likes snacks.

C: Lao-da, I’m about to start school. Can you try to stream on the weekends rather than during the week? LYN: There’s no problem with this. I’ll stream when I stream, and you can watch the playback as needed. The two don’t contradict. My streams are not at a fixed time/day. When the time comes and you can’t make it, you can just watch the playback.

C: Can you help me do my homework? LYN: I can’t help you.

LYN: ! Last time someone in the comments wrote, “Ning-ge, I lost my dog!” and then just now I think I saw “Ning-ge, I found my dog!” Congratulations. Also- I don’t know if you would like hearing this or not, but- small dogs are a part of your family (and should be treated as such). It looks like a small dog, but it’s really a small person. Suddenly losing them is a painful thing, but I’m glad you found it and I hope you learned from that. Be sure to keep a good eye on them from now on. LYN: My dog, too, would run. When I was shooting dramas before- we live in the hotel, right- as soon as the door opens, she would run outside. She just wanted to go outside to play, I don’t know what for. She wanted to be outside. One day, she got out and when I finally realized and started to look for her she wasn’t even on the same floor anymore. It scared me to death. Becuase there are so many floors, I went one by one looking for her. I had already looked for several floors with no sign of her. After a while, I don’t remember who told me, but they said, “There’s a small dog in the first floor lobby.” I went down immediately to see her wandering around. She took the elevator down. It was stopped on our floor and she probably got in and rode it down. Once on the ground floor she was dazed, looking around at everyone and thinking none of them looked like me. I almost lost her, that day. It was a long time ago now, but be sure to keep an eye on small dogs.

C: Ning-ge, I lost my older brother. Could I borrow you for a few days? LYN: How about no? Forget it. LYN: You can consider me as your brother from a distant place, who you have no contact with. Go ahead and consider me your brother, but our relationship is that we are not in contact. Let’s make an example: you are my sister. We’re born from the same parents, and I’ve always wanted to learn art but we’re a transfer student family that has businesses in all different places. We have billions in inheritance. Our father wanted me to take over the family business, to become the owner of said billions. But I wanted to pursue music and acting, so I refused to inherit and decided to leave home. Our father said, “If you step out those doors, don’t ever think of coming back!” I walked to the door and turned back with a wry smile, replying, “I would never return to this house even if I died!” I slammed open the door and very unpolitely left. I’ve been out on my own ever since then. I deleted every contact from home I had including you, sister. I deleted your contact info. LYN: 60 is a little late. Let me tell you my life plan: after a certain amount of time, it could be one or several years later, I will suddenly come to realize that my family is the most important. C: Ning-ge, didn’t you play QQ Xuanwu? LYN: I was playing that, yes. I was good at it, too. I would practice every day.

C: Ning-ge, I didn’t have a signal so I climbed an electric pole to watch your stream. LYN: … LYN: So unsightly? Are you being serious or are you joking? If you’re joking, it’s not funny at all. C: You SHOULD rest. LYN: I didn’t before because the more recent dramas were all scheduled pretty tightly close together. After Cicada Girls not a few days passed before I was in the next crew. After that once ended, I was in the next crew soon after. There wasn’t really a break between them. If I had even a month- I had about half a month but there was other work to do- but there was never any time to be still. It was hard enough even to find a whole day to play games or hang out for someplace. So after this drama wraps I’ll probably rest for… three or four years? XD LYN: For me, a day is like a year.

C: Ning-ge, I’m still waiting for a 60 year old you to tear off your shirt. LYN: Rest assured. When I hold my concert when I’m 60, I will definitely show you an old man tearing his shirt off. You just wait. I’ll perform it for you. When I’m sixty- I’ll wear a shirt so worn that it already has holes and so old that it’s yellowed. I’ll tear it off on stage. Why did I choose such a shirt? Because it’s sure to tear. At that time I’d be an old man and probably not have much strength so it needs to be ratty. So I’d wear my sweatpants and slippers and sing for you. -- /Rang Jiu (old man ver.)/ C: After you’ve described it, I don’t want to see it anymore. LYN: If you don’t want to see it then get out. Who cares if you don’t want to see it or not? Even if you don’t want to, there are still others that do. LYN: Think about it- I’ll be sixty. Many of my friends are older or maybe younger than me, but in general our age difference isn’t too big. When you’re 70 years old, or 50-60, what other forms of entertainment will you have?? I know because I’ve seen my mom- there’s mahjong. You’re either going to be playing mahjong or dancing in the square. At that age, for you to be able to go see an old man tear off his shirt - wouldn’t you call that entertainment? Let me tell you- 60 will be my year. I’m guessing it will be the peak of my career. I’ll be up on stage and the audience will be filled with 50-60 year old ladies, watching my concert. It’s going to be amazing.

LYN: Also- at that time you’d have a happy family with your children and grandchildren. You get a monthly retirement fund, and benefits insurance. There’s nothing else for you to do but be happy. You’d have full economic power. There would be no better time for you to buy tickets. LYN: Someone earlier said that they were a student-fan. In that case, you should study well. One day when you’ve graduated from college and have a successful career, at that time you can buy a concert ticket to come see me. Think about it- when all of you are 60-70, have a family and savings, it’s the best time for you. You’d have both time and money. That’s the best time. - C: 60 is the best age to make something of yourself. LYN: I wouldn’t go that far. - C: Ning-ge, is there a senior discount? LYN: No. But if you’re 50-60 and you don’t have the money to buy a concert ticket, you can go ask your children or grandchildren for it. Then, if they don’t give you the funds I will come to stream to back you up. I will continue to maintain streaming all that time, so that when you’re old and your children aren’t filial, I can come here to berate call them out. I’ll give them pressure until they treat you well. You think you’re a fan of LYN, but really you’re a fan of someone who- in case you’re old and your children aren’t filial- you’ll have a friend who will stand up for you.

C: Ning-ge, tickets for seats on the ceiling are fine for me. LYN: You can get them wherever you want- it all depends on your own circumstances. You can buy a ticket for whatever spot you want. As long as you go and have the experience, at least once.

LYN: I don’t know, though. Let’s talk again when I’m sixty. I don’t know what condition I’d be in. I know I always say that your body (health) is most important. To all the young people who are working hard right now- if you’re only in school, you have it a little easier- and for those who have difficult (labor-intensive) jobs: when have we ever paid attention to our own bodies? When have we stopped to consider whether what we’re eating is healthy or not? We haven’t. So I know I always say that health is most important, but it’s hard to put in practice. Still, we should try harder to make it important. Every time I go to the hospital, it’s terrifying. So please stay healthy, okay friends? Let’s all stay healthy so that we can make it to an old age.

C: Be healthy, be healthy! I’m going to sleep! LYN: It’s 11:30p and you’re saying that’s healthy?? Are you overseas and there’s a time difference? Why don’t you have a meal while you’re at it. They say if you’re full before you go to sleep, that’s healthy. So that there’s something in your stomach from which you can absorb nutrients while you sleep. Why don’t you try that? LYN: I heard something yesterday: A midnight snack is just breakfast a few hours ahead of time. So eat when you want. Eating a midnight snack is not a sin, you’re just eating your breakfast early. Early by six hours… we should be early for things. The early bird gets the worm, right? Whether in life or in work, we should work hard.

C: Ning-ge, I eat 5 meals a day. How would that be calculated? LYN: I don’t have the right to comment. I can only praise you for having a good home environment. It looks like you’re doing well for yourself, if you can have five meals a day. You must own a restaurant, right?? But it’s not like every time there’s a customer and you bring them their dishes, you join them for the meal, though??? // Your family DOES own a restaurant? Oh, then that’s another discussion. All I can say is 1. Eat if you want to and 2. I guess your family business is doing well. LYN: Honestly though, I think four or five meals is still okay. Because some people who work out have multiple meals a day, too. That’s what I’ve heard, at least. They’re exhausting a lot of energy, so they need to eat more to maintain it. I’m not sure how it all works. 

C: How many meals a day do you eat? LYN: Me? Maybe two or three? On average, two. I get up and eat a meal then eat another at night. Most of the time, it’s two. If I need to head out particularly early I’ll have a little breakfast, then a lunch, then a dinner. 

C: Ning-ge, I eat 8 meals a day. LYN: As long as you’re happy. I can’t stop you and I shouldn’t- LYN: There are  two words that come to mind but I am not shameless enough to say them out loud. [Animal feed?] What are you doing- what has happened to starve you so much that you need 8 meals a day?? That’s a bit much, isn’t it? - /some discussion about this/ - [t/n: I’m hearing “pixiu” and “taotie”, which are both mystical creatures, but I think the gist of it is: “Glutton”.] LYN: You’re taotie, you’re a qiling. 41. Comfort food, for Derek & Alex?

i finally wrote this!!!

here you go!

When Alex woke up the light streaming into his room was from the moonlight, it had still been light out when he’d napped, been forced to nap really, after having a full emotional meltdown, that was what his therapist would call it, it was what Meredith and Derek had both called it, he didn’t like to call it anything, he didn’t even like to think about it. 

Meredith was fast asleep beside him, her hand just above his hair, he’d clearly fallen asleep cuddled up to her, judging from the fact that he was in the middle of the bed and there was a pillow next to him Derek had probably been with them too, he always put pillows next to Alex, as though that would stop Alex from rolling off the bed… it only sometimes worked.

He was careful not to wake Meredith as he crawled out of bed, he already felt bad that he’d essentially wasted her Saturday off, having to deal with him… she at least deserved an early night, and to not be woken up by him right then.

He padded down the stairs, following the sound and light until he found Derek, who was watching some hockey game on the tv, the only light in the room was from the tv and the lamps, it was cosy, it kind of made Alex want to cry, at least a little, or maybe it was just… it was just him. The floorboard creaked under his foot, it wasn’t loud, especially considering there was the noise of the match on the tv. Derek turned, regardless. His face soft when he saw that it was Alex. Alex shifted on his feet. “Hey.”

“Hey kiddo.” Derek smiled at him softly, his eyes going over him in assessment. 

Derek went to open his mouth but Alex beat him to it, he knew what Derek was going to say, and he didn’t want it right then. “Mom’s still asleep.”

Derek watched him for a moment, “I figured, otherwise she wouldn’t be leaving your side.”

“I don’t wanna talk ‘bout it.”

Derek nodded slowly. “Okay… how about some food?”

“You’ve got your hockey thing on.”

“I’ll watch the highlights later. Anyway, the capitals are destroying the rangers, so I’ll probably be happier if I don’t watch it live. You hungry?” Alex shrugged his shoulders. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

“Mom’s still asleep… she hasn’t eaten.”

Derek stood up, wrapping his arm around Alex’s shoulder. “She’s eaten, she ate while you were asleep, I made sure, you don’t have to worry about her.”

“Is this when you say that I should worry about myself?”

“Nope, this is when I ask you what soup you want.” He cupped the back of Alex’s neck holding, rubbing circles onto it. 

“You’re really not gonna ask me?”

“Nope, c’mon baby, let’s get you fed.”

Alex settled onto the kitchen stool, watching as Derek moved around the kitchen. Derek hadn’t made him tell him what was going on in his head nor had he forced him to answer him, instead he looked in the cupboards and the refrigerator. Eventually he pulled out a tub of soup from the fridge, along with cheese and butter. He turned around sending Alex a smile. “You need a grilled cheese and some soup. Trust me.”

“No veggies?”

“Minimal veggies,” Derek assured him. “I’ve got to make sure you get some, don’t I? I’m your dad.” He dumped the soup into a pot, turning the heating on, and he started buttering the bread.

“Sorry I ruined your weekend.”

“What do you mean?”

“Y’know,” Alex murmured. 

“I really don’t, Lex.” Alex stayed silent. “You had a rough Saturday, bud, a very rough day. You didn’t ruin our weekend, you’re our kid, we’re always going to be here for you, especially when you had a day like today. Which is also why I’m making you soup and a grilled cheese.”

Alex finally looked up, meeting Derek’s eyes, frowning slightly. “So you can force me to have veggies?”

“Nope,” Derek told him. “Y’know, my dad was a good cook, that’s how he won my mom over. And whenever I was ill, and mom was working, he’d have one of his staff take over the store, and he’d hang out with me. It was rare, just getting to hang out with my dad.” Derek smiled softly. “I mean I had eight hundred sisters, it was rare that I got that.”

“Did you fake being sick, y’know so you got more of those times?”

Derek’s smile decreased in brightness, just a little, it turned a little sad, but it was still a smile. “No… no, he had the shop, and I guess I always thought I had more time with him.” he shook his head, buttering the next slice of bread. “But when I was feeling sick, or had a really rough day, he’d make this.”

“Soup from a tub?” Alex rested his chin on the island countertop. 

Derek chuckled. “Yeah, his mom couldn’t cook, so whenever he was sick, or one of my uncles or aunts were sick, she’d dump a can of soup into a pan, add a little salt and pepper, apparently it wasn’t the best soup, but it was the intention behind it… It always made him feel better, it made me feel better: I was kind of hoping you’d like it too, I got the better kind of soup. If not I can figure something else out, we’ve got a fully stocked kitchen, just name a thing… though I hope that you’ll pick at least one veggie.”

Alex watched his dad for a moment, he shook his head, “I like it when you make me soup, it’s always good.” he fell silent again, just continuing to watch his dad. Before he knew it he was talking out loud. “I always hoped it’d be me, not Aaron, y’know to be like my mom.”

“To be diagnosed with schizophrenia?”

Alex nodded but he couldn’t meet Derek’s eyes, instead he stared down at the counter. He heard Derek moving in the kitchen, and the sizzle of butter in the pan, before another sizzle as he added the sandwich. After a couple of moments the sizzling levelled out. 

“I think that makes sense, Lex. I mean you spent your childhood having to look after your mother and your siblings, I can’t say I blame you for either expecting to end up like that, or hoping that you’d be able to get a break from having to care for everyone.”

Alex was quiet again. “But… I feel bad now… I mean, Aaron, he’s only got us, and if- without him, Helen might get sick too, again, and Amber-”

“Alexander,” Derek’s voice was calm but demanding of attention. “They’re your family, which means that they’re important to us, Helen already has a support worker checking on her, they’re going to increase how often they do that. We’re getting information through your social worker about Aaron, you wouldn’t be able to visit for a while anyway, but we’re keeping in contact so we know when you’re going to be allowed to visit.” 

Alex was quiet as Derek dished up the soup, he cut the grilled cheese into four triangles and placed both of them in front of Alex, forcing him to sit up enough to be able to eat. “Will you guys come with me?... If I go, I mean.”

He’d put the pot into sink to soak then settled on tidying up the kitchen while Alex ate, but he turned hearing the shy question, said so quietly, so timidly: one of the rare times that Alex sounded young despite being fully big, that made sense, and Derek couldn’t stop the feeling of pride that he was allowing himself to be vulnerable. “Of course we will - even if you didn’t want us to come we would, and not just because we have to - we want to be there with you. You’re not doing this alone anymore, Alex. And you’re not taking over care for all of your family, don’t put all that on your shoulders, let me and Meredith worry about that.” 

Alex dipped his grilled cheese into his soup, scooping up some chicken, and took a big bite. It wasn’t anything special, not really, but it filled him with comfort, it was homely, even if it had taken him over twenty years to find a home. Maybe Derek’s dad had a point about this being good comfort food, for the first time Alex kind of wished he had the opportunity to meet Christopher Shepherd, he had a feeling that he was a lot like Derek. 

He looked across the island at Derek, who was very deliberately not watching him, instead he had grabbed the family calendar and a pen and was writing things on it. “Thanks daddy,” He told him quietly, he looked down at his bowl again, but he could tell that Derek knew that he meant everything he left unsaid, as his dad reached over and affectionately ruffled his hair.

Pokemon Horizons Episode 41 Review - Dot And Her Mother

Why are Dot-focused episodes so good? Episode 15, which was a mix of Dot and Liko-focus, was good. Episode 39, the first true Dot-focused episode, was really good. This one was really good since this one focuses on Dot’s backstory!

It’s always nice to see how a member of the Rising Volt Tacklers came onto the ship. While we know the backgrounds of everyone except Ludlow, we still don’t know how Murdock and Mollie came aboard the ship now that how Dot got here is revealed in this episode. Dot was basically the same as she is now, but a bit shyer. She spent her days cooped up in her room streaming, but wanted to expand her horizons after seeing Friede’s thesis and getting some advice from him and Iono. This was how she suggested to her mother, Blanca, that she wanted to aboard the Brave Olivine as a trial period.

It’s interesting to know about Blanca as she is connected to both Dot, her daughter, and Murdock, her older brother. Blanca is totally different from her two family members. She’s chatty, energetic, slightly scatterbrained and a bit overbearing, but means well. I love the little gag with how her Midnight Form Lycanroc has to stop her from chattering too much. I did like that while she did seem like an overprotective mom, she just wants what’s best for Dot—wanting her to say her true feelings, which she’s bad at. I do love how she’s a good mother at the end of the day as she teared up when Dot expressed her true feelings about ending the trial period and staying on the airship for real. It’s cute how both Murdock and Blanca have the Rockruff line, but she has the Midnight Form while her brother’s dog hasn’t evolved yet; will there be a day that it’ll evolve and if it does, will it be Midday or Dusk? Also, I was really surprised with her voice actress! She’s voiced by Motoko Kumai, who has been in the XY series as Serena’s Showcase rival, Nene! I’m usually familiar with her most famous role as Li Syaoran from Cardcaptor Sakura, so for her to voice an adult woman is a strange but welcome feeling; it’s always nice to see returning voice actors and actresses try out new types of roles, even if they’re minor ones.

What I like about the family issues presented in Horizons is that they’re usually resolved on their own without anyone interfering too much. In the past series with Ash, Ash had to step in and solve the family matters. For example, in the Black and White series, Bianca and her dad had conflict and Ash had to step in and battle her dad. In the Sun and Moon series, Ash had to involve himself with Lillie’s family matters at first before they resolved it on their own. In this series, Liko’s family issues were resolved on her own back in Episode 9. In this episode, Dot resolves her own family issues on her own without Liko or Roy interfering. I think that it’s a nice change of pace!

True to Pokemon fashion, battling always has to solve problems. Blanca’s not a bad battler as she uses Counter as her main style of battling. For Dot, she beats her mother with Quaxly as the duck had the type-advantage and also learned another super-effective move, Low Kick. Now, all three Paldean starters got new moves! I can’t wait to see them progress even more! Now, please give Liko and Roy legitimate wins; Dot can’t be the only one of the three kids to keep winning battles!

The friendship between the three kids is adorable. Liko and Roy really like Dot and because they’ve been around each other for a while, they know what to do get her to open the door to her room. This episode, they pretend to leave and it worked. So cute! Liko being a big Nidothing fan and realizing that Blanca once barged into her livestream on accident was cute! I also liked how Liko and Roy helped with chasing Tinkatink around the airship; they just appeared and I found that hilarious. I found the Maushold being mini delivery mice on the airship adorable! It’s like Murdock got four employees that pass food to Dot!

My only concern with the episode is the fact that Friede was sleeping at Dot’s house and her reaction to seeing a random guy sleeping in her living room was too calm. Other than that, this was a great episode! I’d love to see more Dot-focused episodes in the future, whether it be her doing silly things with our main duo, doing collaboration streams with Iono, or battling! What are your thoughts on this wonderful episode?

I was originally going to post this on Twitter but I decided not to because I'm going to saying similar to the tweet a made a few days ago. Oh well, I'm making it fucking banger lol.

You know the Pikamee drama right, it's been on Twitter recently and that got many people's attention because she announces she was graduating from vtubing at the end of March of 2023.

Back in February, she was planning to Hogwarts Legacy but after receiving an amount of criticism, like a lot, she canceled the stream and she was just trying to have some fun. And here we are in March and do I even have to say this?

I don't even I had to put it, but some people, all of which are right-wing grifters and vtubers/anime fans decided to turn a blind eye and blame it on the trans community. Not only they were harassing them, but they also sent death threats, doxing, wishing self-harm because of their identity, making transphobic jokes like the 41% rate (and if you know, you already know), and many, many more stuff. It's like I'm noticing a pattern here and here cuz hear me out, I don't think she'll not like these people for doing this action.

I have been reporting tweets left and right, hoping they'll get their account locked down or suspended since they were violating the site's TOS. But this is painfully slow and it would take days, weeks, or even an entire month to approve that violation, due to Elon Musk laying off roughly 80% of staffs who are working for the company. Yeah, this is bad when hate speech is leading to a rise.

Since this is long, I have some advice for you, don't blame the trans community, don't blame people who are trans, don't blame people who aren't straight, and don't blame people with different races, religions, or gender, etc. You can only blame the people who harassed her.

Harassing their identity doesn't mean it's good or cool, that's hatred. And I almost forgot that doxxing people while using VPN doesn't lead to "I can do whatever I want" or "at least I'm safe from arrested" stick, the FBI or the government will find you down and arrest you since they'll ask the VPN community for their location or their whereabouts.

It's sound like I'm nitpicking this or that, but please, for the love of God, listen to me:

For people who are bigoted or sent hate towards trans people: Fuck you, I already mentioned before and yes, I will report your account.

For people who harassed this vtuber: Shame on you, you better off attacking the ACTUAL transphobes instead.

For people isn't a part of these two types of people, just like me: Cool, quite trust you too because this is the end of the story.

And I'm going to say that Pikamee is great, especially the trans community, but for people is who transphobic or that guy who harassed this vtuber, aren't welcome.

UPDATE #1 (04/27/2023): The reason why Pikamee decided graduate, wasn't because of backlash and harassment to play HL cuz it was happens a few months before the harassment no no no, it was the passing of her family member, which negatively affect her mental health, this is is why she decided leave the vtubing scene.

If your saying that I'm wrong, go find me irl and come talk to my face cuz you haven't follow her personal life before this harassment. Now put your pitchfork down and don't talk shit about it, I'm warning you. If these people decided to go and harass me, might as well as report these people and hope they can learn their lesson.

My Eras Tour Set List

My goal with creating this set list was to

a) have balanced representation of all eras while still b) giving preference to the newer ones where applicable and c) choosing a well-rounded set list which can be enjoyed by locals and die-hard Swifties alike

So how did I select my songs? A fairly simple process- first going on Wikipedia to find all the singles from each album (counting TVs alongside the originals, as you’ll see w the Red section) and, if all of those were exhausted, finding out which ones had the most streams using billboard.com’s statistics. And from there I just tried to put them in an order that made sense to me. This mainly meant putting the heavy hitters as the first and last song in each set and putting ballads in the middle, though this tended to vary. I didn’t really have a refined system for this specific part, more so just going on vibes.

oh omg theres a lot, i've been thinking abt part 5 recently tho so trish una. idk she just had a really important role in the plot and it was weird that she only got one scene where she was the main focus

(also the story from her pov must be insane bcz on top of the recent death of her only immediate family and the assassins dropping in left and right, bruno's team literally just dont tell her anything until several days in she learns that her long-lost father is the mafia time wizard).

anyways like, everyone in the main team gets a little flashback sequence Except for trish which annoys me sm bcz another VA character that i wish they included more was donatella una. like i said, trish's only family dies and they kinda gloss over the whole grieving thing. in the anime they show donatella's influenced some of trish's personality and she was a loving parent. but presumably, solido naso was still important to her, and would she ever reveal any of this to her daughter? i don't think trish has no preconceptions on who her father is and also there's likely a big difference between solido naso and diavolo in 2001.

bcz complaining aside i think an interesting scene is how in the elevator, trish worries about what her father is like and bruno tells her that everything is gonna be ok, knowing full well he's gearing up to kill his ass. one of the things that messes me up is that even though the main squad has good intentions or whatever - putting yourself in her shoes, could trish really trust them or are they just the lesser of 2 evils?

for the first half of the story, trish is in an incredibly confusing situation where people around her are violently murdering each other but she's important enough to be basically 'untouchable' (tangent- they do sort of treat trish as an 'innocent' the entire time, even after the big final fight giorno hides info from her and mista).

between those loyal to passione and la squadra, it was a 'race' to get to trish first (certainly not something she had a say in). the audience knows that while mafiosi are mafiosi, la squadra is definitely worse - but to an outsider it's one group of strange men or the other. you're saddled with one and you don't know what the other is like, they could be the 'good guys' or the 'bad guys', but chances are they're both pretty fucked up (we've seen bruno's team win every time but this also means that they brutally murder the opposition each time. trish doesn't know these people, or what warrants the ruthless protection). you can see her kinda voice her this uncertainty after bruno kills pesci, but it's just something i wish they touched upon more.

bcz it puts trish in a position where she's deeply alone - her mom is dead, she knows she's going to see a father she's never met, she's moved from place to place with little to no explanation by strangers locked in a bizarre war (bcz isn't it weird? "i dont know you but i'll kill and die for you"). and it's neat to think about how spice girl is one of the few stands that is sentient and can operate with a separate will, bcz yeah, there wasn't anyone else but herself.

i have a lot more thoughts on this but they aren't that clear bcz imo there also isn't that much detail on trish's shift into a more active role into the story, they sorta just decide "everybody friends now :)" without considering that trish's position is insane. but some idea's that've been rattling around is when trish is fully ready to kill diavolo (bcz. donatella knows solido naso, and donatella tells her daughter about the love of her life, and trish can wonder all this time, so out of all the strangers here, her father is a stranger she knows.)

while i don't think it fits in the actual story, i think it's an underrated idea in fan content, and i think abt pucci and diavolo interacting a lot, bcz at first it's like "religious guy and devil guy haha" but there's layers to this okay, like. the next thing is how pucci is a priest and diavolo was raised by a priest who he Does not like lol. but also also, in Over Heaven dio's like "idk who this diavolo kid is but we probably have gravity lol" meanwhile pucci also has a ton of gravity (whatever dio means by this shit idk) super important for the heaven plot, and also how pucci's whole thing is how fate is controlling everyone while diavolos whole thing is how fate is his bitch. and yeah they'd hate each other but idc if they'd hate each other i wanna see some blood. Kill!!

i liked a lot of the jojo&jobro dynamics in the later parts like josuke & okuyasu, hermes & jolyne, and gyro & johnny. also not to bring up trish again but trish and narancia.

i wanna say nothing scared me thaaat much but i have an irrational fear of zombie type things, so limp bizkit kinda freaked me out with the way they showed sports max like, fully conscious as he became less and less 'human'.

While this is true, I think it's disingenuous to posit that nothing on a teenager's phone makes them depressed. Though it's not really the phones, per se: it's social media.

It's become increasingly politicized and polarized. People often market themselves as living incredible lives when the reality is not as shiny as "influencers" make it out to be, and that leads to a lot of self esteem issues among young people who feel they're not successful or trying hard enough.

Social media streams are often a never ending barrage of bad news/toxic arguments (especially Twitter) and the human brain wasn't meant to cope with seeing that day in, day out.

Fuck, I'm a 41 year old woman and I routinely need to take week long breaks from social media because it makes my mood tank.

So while I agree that society should work harder to give teenagers better physical communities and spaces they can feel safe being a part of, social media can definitely poison the mood well, and sometimes something as simple as going for a walk or calling a friend really can help.

"38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him as a guest. 39 She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted with all the preparations she had to make, so she approached him and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do all the work alone? Tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things, 42  but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the best part; it will not be taken away from her.”

    This story begs for an ending the Gospel does not provide. Did either sister change? Did Martha apologize? Did Mary get up and help? Did anyone get lunch?

    Perhaps no ending was provided because the ending is not about Mary and Martha but about us

    Jesus is not weighing servers against contemplatives. He asks whose voice we are listening to--our own or his. He is asking what is on our minds: our overloaded to-do lists with praise of getting them done, I am asked so often how many people "you" have gotten off the street and are visibly disappointed or angry when I say all I do is listen. It would be awesome to be praised and rewarded with money, or do we do the works of discipleship we are called to do?

    During this election season are we becoming angry with people who are voting on the opposite side, or not like how we demand they vote to be friends?

    Are we unduly worrying about one candidate being elected "assuming the worst" and declaring we will move to another country if one side is not elected?

    Are we saying harsh and unduly gossipy things about the candidates and the side the person is representing?

    I have lost several of what I thought were excellent friends because I would not talk about who I was voting for, simply remaining neutral, or seeing me with a friend of the opposite party. I maintain relationships with people, regardless of their party or choice, because we all are good people, no one is negative or positive because of their political party! We all have the gift of making choices!

    The "Forty Day Fast for a Free and Fair Election" invites us to join in forty days of fasting, and praying for peace in our election; for individuals of both parties to recognize we are all brothers and sisters; pray for the safety at all voting precincts; pray for our candidates and leaders to acknowledge the misery, hunger, and pain our people on the street suffer--pain does not stop with the "middle class"; pray for leaders who will recognize the suffering in Israel, Palestine, and Gaza; pray for leaders who will be non-violent in their actions and policies; and pray for ourselves to be present to each other during this election.

    In our logo, I have added a new sub-title: "Christian and Catholic Worker Gone Bad".   A Catholic Worker farmer suggested this to me. As I am reading The Poisoned Bible" a novel about the destruction and harm Christianity accomplished in the Congo in the 60s I am reminded of all the divisions we have in our world, and how destructive they are, and in "going bad," I am saying that all religious expressions are valid, coming from the same God of love, it is humans who are using them for destructions. My expression of Christ is one of love for all human beings.

    There is a Muslim gentleman, in our photo below, who shared with me his fear of Christians and Muslims in San Francisco, so much tension, resulting from the events in the Middle East.  He is afraid! 

    There is one God, with many streams flowing towards the River of Live! Each one of us is born with an inner fire. I believe this fire is the God within. It is an unquenchable divine fire. It warms us, encourages us, and occasionally asks us to dance.

    Perhaps Jesus in our story of Mary and Martha is asking who is on our minds: our over-burdened selves or God's reign both workers and listeners or called to build. I would like to imagine in the end, both Martha the busy server, and Marty the quiet contemplative got the answer right! Deo Gratias! Thanks be to God!
