So... I just watched Transformers: One yesterday....

A short, personal review without spoilers: it's good and I want more.

A longer review: considering that they've made a completely new canon story (again), the characterisation in this is unexpectedly peak. Other than Orion/Optimus, I like him more tame, and in TFO he's more like a classic "main character", with smart quips and all. As a fanart fuel it's 🔥🔥🔥, so many scene's I'd like to draw, but I can't tell you which ones bc, again, spoilers!

IMPORTANT: IT HAS MANY PARALLELS WITH TFP, ALONG WITH SOME SCENES, SO IF YOU'RE A TF:PRIME ENJOYER LIKE ME YOU'LL PROBABLY LOVE IT. ALSO THEY SHARE A MUSIC COMPOSER, SO THE TF:ONE SCORE HAS A MASSIVE TFP VIBE...

Megatron is really good. His descent is expected, but heartbreaking nonetheless, even more so when you know how he will end up right from the beginning. It's not the classic Megatron story, but it gives an interesting perspective on the character.

An appropriate amount of mecha gore. I think little kids that watched it in the theatre with us may have gotten trauma from some scenes alone. So don't bring little kids with you!

To conclude: I loved Transformers: One. And I think you'll love it too!
