#back on my debbie gallagher analysis

Debbie's coming-out storyline is so cute and wholesome. I mean, besides Alex being emotionally detached, Debbie moves past that and takes it well all things considered.
I did have a laugh last night about Ian being insistent that Debbie is not a lesbian. I had a thought, like what if it was him being protective of his spot as the gay sibling?
"No Debbie, I'm the gay Gallagher. I already have to share being the red-headed one."
Oh Ian, just wait until you realize Debbie is also mentally ill. (This is more a personal headcanon. But I think Debbie does have a disorder. It's just not as apparent as Ian's so it flies under the radar)
ok anon whoever you are ily this made me so fucking excited because i have so much to say about this LMAO
idk if i’m taking this too seriously, but ian’s reaction pissed me the fuck off. and what you said about him being protective of his spot was fucking hilarious because that is probable😭😭
i hated how debbie went without support after coming out, and i hate how the fandom sides with ian. ian’s my favorite character but he was 100% in the wrong. yeah, he was doing bad mentally. yeah, debbie has had a lot of phases in the past. but imagine seeking support from your favorite sibling who you figured would understand this, but he simply responds with “no you’re not”. like that’s so shitty don’t even.
and debbie has never had support- ever! she grew up with no support system, and during her pregnancy she had no support except for fucking frank. plus (almost) no support with the house.
and debbie’s whole coming out story is wholesome and beautiful, anon. maybe i’m just going insane and taking everything too seriously because i’m a lesbian, but it was seriously wonderful and one of my favorite things that the writers decided to do in season 9 (because they did a lot of stupid shit that season).
i know that debbie’s lesbianism wasn’t intended from the start, and that it was supposed to be for fiona, but lesbianism really fits debbie’s character and i’m so tired of hearing people call debbie “bi” or “straight going through a phase”. no, she’s a lesbian.
from her relationship with holly, ellie, mandy, really everybody, she was so clearly a lesbian. every piece of advice she recieved it was clear that she wasn’t asking about “how to tell if you like a guy” or “how to have sex with a guy” it was more “why don’t i like guys yet” “teach me how to like guys”
she never liked matty, she liked him being older. she never liked derek, she liked the possibility of being a mother. she never liked neil, she just wanted a house.
or how she knew about how lesbian sex worked in season 1?? like that’s so out of pocket for an ten/eleven year old girl to be saying (and something that i, a lesbian, would’ve said at that age😭), or getting bullied and being called a “lesbo” as a kid for staring at the pretty girls??
sorry i’m getting off topic
i also totally believe debbie has some sort of mental illness. specifically a personality disorder or something like that.
many people believe she has bpd (borderline personality disorder), and i don’t have it so i’m not one to talk, but it does fit her. idk.
also some people headcanon her as autistic and the evidence i’ve seen for that checks out.
i dunno man she’s got something and i wish we got to learn more about debbie regarding her mentality.

I've really enjoyed your recent meta takes and was wondering if you could elaborate on your thoughts on Mandy + Ian and her going for Lip as a result (from your Ian Relationships meta)? I love reading about M+I and their connection is just so dear to me 😭
(P.S Thank you for being such a beacon of positivity in the Shameless fandom! I only got into the show during lockdown last year but it's become such a comfort so it makes me so happy to see positivity right now. ❤ )
Oh my gosh, thank you so much! You’re seriously too kind! I totally sympathize with you: Shameless has shot straight to the top of my list of comfort media since watching it right around the same time, so I’m really passionate about sharing the love around. 😃🧡
To me, one of the most important things to look at in this analysis is motives—who each of these characters are, what they desire for themselves, and how those factors fit together like a puzzle.
Mandy is in such a difficult position. It’s not as easy as saying that she’s a victim of abuse and wants nothing more than to get as far from her family as possible, because that’s simply not true. In s1, we see that she’s very comfortable in her house. She and Mickey exhibit your standard sibling animosity (and competition for Ian’s attention, unbeknownst to her), she makes breakfast for Terry even though she’s obviously not super respectful to him as a parent, and she clearly has a solid understanding of where her family stands in the neighborhood. In a way, she thrives on that in the beginning. At but a word, she can do serious damage to somebody without raising a finger herself. Viewing Ian’s lack of response to her advances as an insult, she takes full advantage of that. In s2, we know that she is being abused in such a heinous way. She takes charge of the situation, although not in a manner that would save her from it. She leaves the house for a while to avoid Terry; she holds him at gunpoint and forces him to accept what he already knows so that he won’t hurt Ian. When they talk afterward, she even recounts what happened in a way that makes it sound like no big deal—he was drunk, and he didn’t know who she was, so it’s whatever. (It isn’t. We know it isn’t. If this is going to be her reality, however, then she’s going to own it. No one will look down on her, especially not a Gallagher who’s barely ahead of her in social standing.)
We’ll pause there because so much of how Mandy changed afterward is tied to Lip, but we can already see that Mandy isn’t like Mickey. Mickey stuck it out with his family and very clearly fell into the same trap we’ve heard verbalized by other male characters, namely the notion that men can’t be abused. It doesn’t matter that that is entirely inaccurate—that’s what they’ve been taught in their environment. That’s what’s normal to them. (That’s part of the dramatic irony in this scenario: we can see how damaging and traumatic these events are, but the characters don’t have our perspective. I don’t think Mickey sees what happened to him as rape, just like Ian doesn’t see what happened to him as grooming or assault. That’s for the audience to comprehend in terms of gravity and should add to our sympathy for them.)
Mandy is different. Women are abused all the time in their neighborhood. It’s visible, and it’s pervasive. In s3, Mandy immediately teaches Debbie how to defend herself against it. She didn’t have to learn. Like not seeing themselves as victims is part of the boys’ culture, fighting not to be one is part of the girls’. But there’s a contradiction in her life: the Milkoviches are the neighborhood badasses, and while she shares in that, it’s limited by her sex. There is something she will never be able to overcome in order to see the same return on her reputation that Mickey and Terry do, not unless she gets out, which will be extremely difficult on her own merits. She’s living in poverty and not doing well in school. Her prospects are limited—she told the counselor so. Based on that conversation and her history with boys even before meeting Ian, she clearly sees one surefire avenue to get out of this hole she’s stuck in: a man with the resources to get out and take her with him. If she’s lucky, it’ll even be a good man with a good heart who wants to do good in the world.
Now, let’s talk about Ian. (See what I did there?) This doesn’t need to be long because I’ve already talked so much about Ian already lately, but let’s wax poetic just a bit. Ian wants to be a good person. He wants to be able to get by, even be successful, without having to do it through scamming and stealing. He has goals and ambitions, and whatever anybody thinks of those ambitions, he did it with the mindset that he would be a hero—a protector. Along with that, he never gives up. When Mandy sets her brothers on him, he doesn’t hide forever—he seeks her out multiple times to fix the situation. When he can’t get into West Point, he doesn’t quit ROTC and ignore his dreams. He keeps going.
Not only is he someone who wants to be good for himself, but he wants to be good for others too. He shows Mandy kindness that she arguably hasn’t seen from anyone else before. He takes care of his family when hers tends to focus on themselves and their own individual survival more of the time. Ian has what she would have seen as the potential to get out, and at the time, that is what he wants. It isn’t as an escape for him, but as a way to facilitate his own dreams.
The problem? Ian is gay. We can see that that bothers her sometimes because she forgets. She goes in for a kiss in s2 and has to reel back, settling for a hug instead. She gets tired of hearing him talk about Kash in s1 and kisses him to shut him up, saying she just wanted to kiss her fake boyfriend. Ian isn’t attainable. If Ian leaves, he won’t take her with him as a partner, and she can’t ask as a friend. How desperate would that seem to someone who refuses to be put in a position where she even slightly perceives him to be pitying her? She can’t ask. Not Ian. She needs someone else, someone who is also good and capable of getting out of here—who can be convinced to even if they don’t want to. Someone she can also trust and has some sort of connection with. Someone who is a fixer, and someone she can draw in with the only thing she thinks she has of any value: her body.
That would be Lip. Not only does he meet all of those criteria at the time, but she knows she can trust him. She trusts Ian, and Ian is closer to Lip than he is to anyone else—even her. No, Lip doesn’t have any convictions or real desire to leave, but he has potential. She can work with that. She’s also there for the entire Karen saga, so she knows that Lip is someone who takes his responsibilities to the people he’s with very seriously and tries so hard to cultivate that connection. (For example, feeding him, making herself sexually available as often as possible, letting him stay with her when he can’t go anywhere else without any conditions, etc. We even begin to see her distancing herself from Ian a little bit by s3, putting all of her energy into what she has with Lip when, a year ago, they were sneaking around because she said she didn’t want Ian to know about them. That isn’t to say that Ian was seeking her out either, being quite distracted with Mickey, but it’s noticeable for me.)
Like Mickey, Mandy also has a very deep capacity for emotion and affection that seems incongruous with her personality a lot of the time. Also like Mickey, nobody brought that out in her—it was always there. As much as she seemed to hope that Lip would take care of her, the process of growing closer to him led to a level of affection. I don’t particularly read their relationship as being a deep one. Both of them were using the other, to an extent, to deal with their trauma in other areas of their lives. But that sort of thing can foster a kinship, a mutual understanding that transcends time and place and even the terrible stuff that people do to one another.
So, it doesn’t work out. Mandy is hurt and does something unforgivable. She then runs from Lip, straight into what she feels is her only alternative now: an abuser. What else is there for a girl in her position? Ian was unattainable because of his sexuality, but to someone beaten down again and again, perhaps she believed he was also unattainable because he was too good a person. Lip was unattainable despite her best efforts to bridge that gap because of what he had with Karen, but to someone beaten down again and again, perhaps she believed he was also unattainable because her position in his life was to give but never to take. With Kenyatta, all she does is give. She’s embraced being beaten down because what else is there? She leaves with him, believing there’s nothing for her there.
When she finally finds her strength, far from home but hopefully under better circumstances than when she lived in Chicago, she still follows the formula that has ruled her decision-making for some time: finding a place where she can have the control over her life that was never there before, but still with the belief that what she has to offer isn’t academic or able to be built or improved upon. Ian has worked past his perception that his body was what he had to offer, that it was what would provide him with the love he was looking for. But of course, he has. He’s had Mickey to love him when he’s healthy and love him when he’s lost a bunch of weight from a depressive episode spent in bed. He’s had his family to mess up here and there but ultimately love him so much.
Mandy doesn’t have that. She didn’t then either. She got what she wanted—she got out. She even implied that that was the most important thing by telling Ian that being born on the South Side doesn’t mean that’s where they have to stay. But Ian “got out” of the spiral of abuse he unknowingly suffered and the mindset that it fostered while Mandy didn’t. This isn’t to say anything negative about sex work, of course, only the mindset that led Mandy to this point in her life. And when she leaves the house for the last time, she looks at Lip after having asked about him, and they acknowledge each other the way that people who once knew each other do.
I’ve made the joke before that to Milkoviches, Gallaghers are like catnip. It’s flippant and funny enough when we consider how many of them have dated at one point or other. I’ve also said the Milkoviches are designed as a foil to the Gallaghers, a juxtaposed image of what they could have been had their situation been altered slightly. In s10, Mickey mentions how the Gallaghers are messed up and he’s never been happier to be a Milkovich, so there’s some awareness there that these are the two notorious families of the neighborhood, albeit for different reasons. For Mandy to see that not one, but two Gallaghers are out of reach? To perhaps feel as though she’s less than even them, or made to feel that way in her interactions with Lip? It’s the ultimate slap in the face.
She trusts Ian more than anyone else in her life, to the point where she will still call him to help her hide a body long after she’s left him and their home behind. But trusting Ian led her to loving Ian, and she couldn’t have him. Trusting Ian led her to meeting Lip, and if Ian was so good and loved Lip so much, he had to be worth it too. And to her, he was. The problem was that she felt that she wasn’t.
Self-fulfilling prophecies suck: when you’re treated like garbage by a neighborhood that sees your family as garbage and repeatedly experience things that will make you feel like garbage around people with the best intentions, you’ll start believing that you are, in fact, garbage. I think what we’ve watched with Mandy is a steady decline from a place of strength in herself and weakness in her environment to an overall place of weakness that she couldn’t escape. Not with Ian and, when she realized that wouldn’t happen, not with the only real alternative she thought she could trust since she trusted Ian so deeply.

11x01 Reaction Post
Random thoughts on and reactions to 11x01; no careful analysis or anything, just the bits and pieces that's not likely to make it into meta proper but which I still want to make note of so I can go back later and remember what my initial reaction to the episode was (since my impressions are likely to change as the season unfolds). Mostly Gallavich related, because duh, but there's disordered rambling on a bit of everything. Under a cut (God I miss LJ sometimes) because this got long.
Ian looks damned good as the homocidal muscle. I don't do AU:s, but if I did... On the other hand, Frank as a member of the Chicago “Eight” looks like a werewolf. Less interested in that AU. And listen, I get that they couldn't get Emmy Rossum for this, but I really miss Fiona showing up in a few random olden day pictures. She's gone, but she's still a Gallagher dammit! Carl at the slaughter house looked weird – and part of me thought that was appropriate because slightly off editing would be a sweet way of communicating that it's all bollocks, but the rest of shots looked okay (Debbie as a milk maid and Frank as the aforementioned werewolf) or good (everything else) so no.
The sound of a baby crying is a horror matched only by persistent lack of sleep so I feel for Lip and Tami so much. Here's to all parents who managed to get through the first year without murdering anybody! I think that maybe you don't get enough credit... I, for instance, want to kill someone just hearing Freddie cry in the background for half a minute. Not sure it bodes too well for their relationship for them to be so ready to spend every night apart like Lip suggests, but a, what wouldn't you do for a good night's sleep, and b, love the thought of Lip spending more time at the old house. Could see them breaking up during the course of the season, though. Not sure how I feel about that – Tami's my favourite out of Lip's love interests, but having too many of the couples staying together all through the finale wouldn't feel quite right (for Shameless) and I don't see them breaking up Ian and Mickey or Kev and V. Don't really expect Sandy or Debbie to last either, but since it's more of a casual thing it might have more of a casual end.
Do you remember when the promo dropped and there was Concern about That Look on Ian's face after he kisses Mickey, and I tag theorized about it being because Mickey stole his coffee? Turns out there wasn't really A Look in the actual episode, but I sure as hell was right about the coffee, and I want noted somewhere. Maybe there should also be a small diploma? A golden statue seems a little over the top, but I mean, if you insist...
I appreciate that Ian is very adament about it being their money but when Mickey thinks it's their breakfast it's suddenly every man for himself. Do you share or not, Ian? Hmm? (Let the record show that I'm joking, please. Ian is damned right to take his toast back, and I say this as a “person most likely to steal their partner's toast right out of their hand”. I also love that Mickey completely gives up on breakfast when he can't have Ian's toast and just grabs a beer instead.) The kitchen scene is glorious and I just really like their dynamic here; the casual kiss, “I only make breakfast for husbands who have jobs”, how relaxed it is even when Ian's a bit annoyed, Mickey being so... Mickey. I do wonder what went through his head when Ian started talking about their wedding present money, though – he seems worried for a moment, but then shrugs it off, and that could be either bravado or just actual lack of concern. I tend mostly towards the latter, since Mickey quite genuinely figures this isn't a big deal (even though he still recognizes that Ian will probably think it one). Please note that he immediately offers to get money when Ian mentions that they need more of it coming in. Not his fault Ian vetoes his methods, right? (Also love that Ian's objection is due to him not wanting to be separated from Mickey, rather than any moral qualms about robbing stores.)
Okay, the gag ball. Would they really keep it like that if they were actually using it? Maybe either of them just tossed it there after taking it off, I suppose... Yeah, I don't know. Not what I'd imagined them being into, but that might be my own extreme lack of enthusiasm for gag balls and harnesses talking. Either they're into it and if so, you do you, boys, or it was a gift and they're keeping it around and semi-prominently on display for shits and giggles. (But if it was a gift, they did try it at least once, right?)
Mickey in the bath remains stupidly and surprisingly gorgerous. Incidentally, I really don't think his question about the meds is any indication of him not thinking them important, but there's little wonder that Ian bristles at the mention of them. Maybe not be an ass just to prove a point, eh, Mick?
I've already talked about how hard Ian is trying here but let's just take another moment to congratulate our boy on his persistent attempts at mature communication. Though he might have given some actual consideration to Mickey not wanting to save the money if he's really serious about them making decisions together... But he gets there! I think this whole situation – which would royally piss most people, including me, off – is actually particularly difficult for Ian, because he might well see Mickey's behavior as uncomfortably reminiscent of Frank and Monica's destructive habits and yeah, that would fuck him up. And still! He forces himself to calm down! He takes Mickey's hand! He refuses to let himself be distracted by Mickey looking SO INSANELY PRETTY I CANNOT EVEN UNDERSTAND IT! Ian, I salute you!
[starwars_eu_nerd_mode]KORRIBAN! YES! HA! TAKE THAT DISNEY! You take your new so-called “canon” and your “Moraband” and you fuck right off. I salute you, Bitcoin Boy![/starwars_eu_nerd_mode]
Ah, the porch scene... This one I do have a bunch of thoughs on that will probably make it into meta proper one day, so I'll leave it for now. It was the one that took the most thinking about for me to square (still not a lot, it should be noted), but now I'm actually very happy about it. (Full disclosure: none of their scenes feel quite right the first time I see them these days, because I'm just so very on edge about what's to come that I kind of miss the forest for all the trees you know? It's not a Shameless thing – it's always like this when I'm extremely invested in something and have waited for it for some time. Will it fit with how I see the characters? Will it be cringey? Will Mickey suddenly profess a love for hideous Hawaii shirts? Also, what are they saying because English is hard... But then I watch them a couple of times and they sink in and I start to get giddy over them. I guess watching actual canon unfold always requires a little bit of re-calibration if you've been busy fanoning while waiting for it to arrive, and while I love that sort of interpretative work, there’s also the fear that the show will veer off into a direction I cannot easily follow.)
Mickey's insistence that he spelled monogamy wrong does genuinely amuse me. Not to mention the whole “No more parking tickets for me!” - “You don't have a car, dumbass.” Also, Mickey being friendly with Carl kills me, in a good way. Family FTW!
Frank's storyline fails to stir even the vaguest hint of interest in me, as per usual. For all his talk of family in this episode, the lack of interaction with any of his kids is striking. If he's to have any value at all this season I'll need him to get involved in the rest of the Gallagher's storylines (which seems like it might be happening at least for a bit later on, so I'm vaguely hopeful?). I find but faint intrigue in Carl's and Debbie's stuff, but it doesn’t annoy me either so I'll call it a win. Kev and V are (almost) always a delight, but do anyone else feel like their kids are only props, even to them? I don't know... I just don't think there's a connection or sense of realness to their relationship, you know? Maybe it's just me... Anyway, here's to hoping V turning pageant mom changes all that! Oh, and I'll need Liam to have some more screentime and stuff to do.
The Tommy and Kermit thing was weird. Eh. Whatever.
Sandy is so gorgerous. I can't. The Milkoviches really be bringing it this episode.
This is only the second season I've watched episode by episode as it airs (other one was S6) and it's a curiuos experience. I think that by and large, and particularly in later seasons, Shameless works better when you binge it, but I love the delightful anticipation of waiting for a new episode and the feverent discussion that follows. Sometimes I also despair over the ferverent discussion that follows, but... you know. It is what it is. Admittedly, any attempts at meta this early in the season is a precarious venture at best, since we don't have the whole story, and it might be wiser to abstain but it's just so much fun, so I'm not very likely to stop.
All in all, I love the Gallavich stuff, am intrigued by Lip & Tami and Kev & V's lives, okay with whatever Debbie and Carl's got going on, hot for Sandy, bored by Frank, and missing Liam. It sets up a lot of promising things, but as an episode all unto itself it felt a bit empty – probably because there were no real plots and the storylines didn't intersect as much as I would have liked them to. Shameless is best when it's about family, which both the show and Frank seems to recognize, but there's little narrative follow-through on that realization in this episode; everyone is pretty much doing their own thing. Adored the Lip and Ian convo, and that house party scene was wonderful, but so short. Think we'll get more of all of them together going forward, though, and more actual plots too, so I'm very excited about it all. Can't wait for Sunday!

Hey there ! I don't always agreed but I think your analysis are always interesting, so I have questions ! A) What do you think about "Be careful what you wish for" ? I feel like it's about Liam (and Noel saying "son" made think about one of your post so here we are) B) Do you think "Come back to me" is about Noel ? (Don't think it's about Nicole and it will be weird if it'd be about Debbie, so we only have...Noel) Anyway, happy new year in advance, and live forever !
HIIII! First things first: if you have a different vision on any analysis or theory, I would love to hear them! I truly believe that the only way we have to find out the truth is to gather all our thoughts and information we’ve got!
Now, let’s go to your questions:
A) I agree with you. As you said on your review (I loved it to bits), everything in that album is about money and Liam. And we have to keep in mind that even when a song is not about Liam, Liam is always in the back of Noel’s head, and that’s really important. Even Liam stated before Chasing Yesterday being released that he would surely be there somewhere – in the lyrics, in the background, somewhere.
Noel is the ultimate bullshiter when it comes to excuses for songs – from “This song is about nothing in particular” to “This song is about an imaginary friend”. In some lines, I see the song being about both Liam and the kids, and I’ll explain why:
“Tidy your books upPut them under your bed[…]Be careful what you wish forBe careful what you dreamThey let you sing your songs, sonBut they’ll never hear you scream”
The first two lines are surely about his kids, they are the “commandos” that parents usually tell kids to do – in fact, the whole song is based on those. The third and fourth line I see being about both (kids and Liam), specially Liam… I can’t explain WHY I think of Liam when I read them, but I see it as if Noel was saying like “well, now you lost me”, you know what I mean? And the last two lines are 100% about Liam. Noel always give it away when he mentions song-singing – he does the same on Angel Child. Who is the person who sings songs? Liam does. And the scream part, in my opinion, can be focused on the fact that Liam never had many friends outside Oasis and neither his friends nor the fans can understand Liam’s struggles and pain, cause they only see the “Liam Gallagher” side of him, so although they LET Liam sing the songs, they don’t hear him scream. You know what I mean?
Then the song continues and Noel keeps calling the person “son”, which, as you said, is just one more proof that Liam was in the back of his mind. Noel always knew he was a father to Liam. But, what makes me sure that Liam is on this song is the last lines:
“You’ve fallen like an angelStranded on the earthThey let you see their richesThey never tell you what you’re worthThey’ve put you in the back seatWhile they’re heading for the sunAnd if you’re waiting for the raptureThe day will never come…”
I gave myself the luxury of making the important topics bold. So, come with me: “Fallen angel” is an already known concept for all of us. It appears on The Turning and AKA… Broken Arrow. I always considered it being a reference to Liam, since Noel always treated Liam as something divine, I don’t know if that’s somethinf you’re aware of, but he does that in Slide Away, Idler’s Dream and even Angel Child. And “fallen angel” fits perfectly with Liam, since, well, Lucifer was the fallen angel, the most beautiful angel of heaven, which ended up being the Devil! This dualistic view of Liam being the angel and the Devil is 100% Liam on Noel’s life.
The second and third line makes me thing that Noel is talking about the way that HE treated Liam. There’s a quote from Getting High that says that:
“Didn’t Liam have an inkling of the work he put in? Did he not also hear the voices in Noel’s head telling him that he was nothing more than a piece of dogshit. Did he not see that Liam was one of the very few people on the planet Noel could totally trust? And that if he wanted money all he had to do was ask.”
The thing is: Noel thought money was the greatest thing (to this day), and that money could buy Liam love, all Liam had to do was ask him for it – so he let Liam see his riches – but Liam never agreed with that, he wanted Noel’s approval, which was something he never could get – so Noel never told Liam what he is worth. These lines are pretty interesting because it SHOWS that Noel acknowledges this mistake of him, of not giving Liam approval.
The word “sun” is in bold because – it’s something I need to post about on my blog – the word “sun”, along with “rain”, “sea”, “shore” and “storm” always have the same meaning in all the lyrics analysis: Noel uses them on purpose to talk about certain things without being explicit. In fact, I have a three pages essay about how Noel uses those words to subtly talk about how gay he is for Liam. Anyway: the sun always means the good things of their relationship, the glory of having Liam with him and for him. Prime example: “Now that you’re mine, we’ll find a way of chasing the sun”. See?
The “waiting for the rapture” bit is pretty ironic, since it’s not only a reference to the Oasis song, cause, let’s remind of WFTR lyrics: “Well, heaven must have sent ya/To save me from the rapture”. Do you see what he did here? He compared Liam to something divine AGAIN, just like he has just done on BCWYWF. And now that he is not with Liam nowadays, and is not able to reach him out, the day of the rapture will never come. Everything is connected!!!
B) Well, Come Back To Me is a song that was written by one of the co-writers with Liam’s help. The thing is, as you said: it doesn’t fit with anyone else but Noel. I’m sure Liam participated of the lyrical process – in my well paid opinion, the second and third verses (the ones that come after the first chorus) all totally written by Liam. So, yes. It’s Noel material. And even if Liam had not written the song, he surely thinks of Noel when he sings it, and that’s where the real meaning of the song is. But we know he thinks that: remember that he tweeted the bit of “My heart is together my head is exploding why don’t you come back to menskcjckdjksmkd”, something like that, in the middle of a Twitter rant about – surprise surprise – Noel. Against facts, there are no arguments!
As you could see, I got a LITTLE bit excited while replying to your questions. Look at the length of this answer, for fuck’s sake, I’m sorry. But it was a pleasure! Feel free to reply to this, add your opinions and stuff. And, of course, happy new year to you as well, wish you all the love and light!

In Case You Missed It--Pt. 10
Now in Mickey’s absence let’s go over some of the things that we learn through the rest of season 2 and the first episode of season 3.
In 2x09– Ian talks to Mandy about Monica coming back and asks how Mickey is. Mandy says he’s doing fine and when she asks if he’ll visit he reveals he thinks Mickey is mad at him for hiding Frank. In the same conversation, Ian remarks that she’s lucky her mother is dead, to which Mandy agrees. This is a really hard thing to pass off as a throwaway comment, but this detail was just tossed out like it was nothing. This I think reflects just how little regard the Milkovich siblings may have held for their own mother. Or shows that they, too, build that infamous Gallagher wall to things that don’t work out. I can’t be sure because Mickey did seem to speak of her affectionately in his premiere episode. But we also never see her or hear of her again until this very moment. Also in this episode Ian shares that Mickey is in Juvie because of him. The way he says it makes it seem like Ian is feeling pretty guilty about it. This guilt discourages Ian from visiting (there is no indication that Ian visited but there is also no indication that he didn’t so we aren’t entirely sure if Ian knew by Mickey’s return that Mickey wasn’t actually mad at him. Based on Ian’s sleeping around, however, it signaled to me that Ian thought they were over since it seemed as though he was faithful to Mickey while he was in juvie the first time.
2x10–At the end of the previous episode, Terry Milkovich breaks into the Gallagher house and attacks Ian for presumably impregnating Mandy. Obviously we know this is impossible, but of course try explaining that to a Milkovich defending Mandy. We see a pretty strong parallel between Mickey and Terry when Terry replicates Mickey’s hunt for Ian. (Which strengthens my argument that Terry tried to mold Mickey into a mini him and for the most part it worked to a certain extent). It’s remarkable that I was able to forget this part, but it took until this watch through to realize the numerous similarities between these events.
Both frantic searches for Ian were based on false assumptions that Ian did something to Mandy (Mickey thought he raped her, Terry thought he impregnated her). They each followed him everywhere and did some extent of damage to the Kash and Grab. Lip got involved (first Mickey beat Lip up to influence Ian to face him, then Lip went to find Mandy and faced the barrel of a gun to try to see her). And finally Mandy was the one who had to call them off.
Let’s now establish something that I don’t feel gets talked about enough. Sure lots of people talk about Mandy’s rape and the fact that Terry is the one who raped her and people talk about her abortion, but there’s a HUGE piece of information about the Milkovich patriarch that seems to either be missed, unsaid, or ignored; that TERRY MILKOVICH is a FULL BLOWN PEDOPHILE! I feel we don’t use that word to describe Terry Milkovich and you know what? We need to. This disgusting piece of shit “person” we criticize for raising his children to be little thugs, for having his son raped at gunpoint, and raping his daughter is literally the mold lining a dumpster level disgusting. It is more than well established that this man is interested in children, specifically female children, and somehow I missed this the first time around. We’ve already established that Terry sometimes gets drunk and sometimes rapes his own daughter, and that this is a common occurrence which is why Mandy didn’t even blink when she was confronted about this by Ian. This is at first explained away by hinting that she resembles her own mother. Though it’s a piss poor excuse, it is an excuse that seems to relieve him of the true condemnation for what he EXACTLY is. Another small detail that I feel is missed, is how he looks at Debbie when she goes over to the Milkovich house to ask Mandy for makeup advice (in 2x04, I believe). We all know that Debbie was trying to grow up entirely too quick and this started pretty much from the beginning of the series with her always wanting to assume adult responsibilities and then with her trying to get into sex too soon, and this scene aptly shows this when Mandy, known for being easy in this neighborhood, remarks how quickly time passes and before you know it, you wish you hadn’t grown up so fast. At the most despicably (and brilliantly) timed moment, Terry walks up to Mandy’s open bedroom door to look in and looks longingly at Debbie, who is 11 at this moment. Despicable because it’s a detail that was included at all and gave me such a degree of the creeps that I actually blocked this moment out, and brilliant because if it hadn’t been included we wouldn’t know just how hard it is at the Milkoviches. It seems as though each time I watch this series the more evidence I find to prove how fucking hard it is to be a Milkovich. Not only did I miss this the first time watching this series, but I also missed other small details that prove that not only is Terry Milkovich a homophobic, racist, criminal piece of shit but he is also a pedophile.
2x11–We see a usual day in the life of the Milkoviches when Lip moves in with Mandy. This usual life includes getting drunk and using a “beer run” as a euphemism for holding up a convenience store for money. And this is so common place for the Milkoviches that Mandy can’t even understand why Lip is so freaked out. We also see Ian meet Ned who is clearly an emotional distraction from Mickey while he’s away.
3x01–Then we learn that Mickey was conceived when their mother was only 12 years old. This only further establishes that Terry is a pedophile, yet no one seems to call him out for being one. So, here it is loud and clear:
TERRY MILKOVICH IS A PEDOPHILE
and to anyone judging the Milkovich children for being the degree of fucked up that they are, keep in mind the abusive nature of their father (Mandy has to go into hiding whenever Terry goes into a rage, almost every time we see Mickey in the early seasons he is seen covered in dirt and possibly bruises, the thug behavior everyone is so critical of is literally just considered the family business, and we see Mickey being put down in one of the ONLY times we see Terry in a domestic setting). And YET, Mickey still wants to be liked by his father. In ALL of this, we see Mickey defend Terry and try to be the type of leader and scammer his father can be proud of (but of course he never is). Now imagine growing up knowing your father “married” a 12 year old girl and knowing that your mother had you at 13… I don’t even think I have to go further.
We learn a lot in Mickey’s absence. And of course, we only keep learning more.
If I missed anything, or if any detail needs clarification, or maybe you disagree with any of my points, send me an ask or submission!

Let’s tutor eachother
Carl Gallagher x Reader
Babies! I finally finished this requested imagine! I have been super crazy stressed out with school but thankfully I graduate in a few weeks so I'll be able to post more later but for now I'm making a trailer and finishing the plot for my "Now or Never" Carl fan fiction!! Thank you for being so patient with Renee and I and we can't wait until summer comes so we can spend more time with our babies 🖤
Warnings: drug use (weed) Pairing: Carl Gallagher x Reader Description: Reader starts to tutor Carl, but the friendship grows stronger and Carl teachers her to be adventurous and something much more stronger blooms writer: Ramona
You made your way down to your World Literature class right as the bell was ringing, which left an absolute knot in your stomach because that meant having to deal with people staring as you entered class. "Take a seat." Mr. Valer whispered as he suddenly paused the lecture that was currently being given. You nodded and skimmed the rows for a seat in your worn down high school. You headed towards the back corner, not your usual preferred seating.
You slumped down and began to jot down notes on your teacher rambling on how past societies differ and relate to current society, sadly this lasted for another hour and a half. You sat through it all, up until when you heard a familiar voice wake you up from your day dreaming. You looked up to see your teacher dismissing the class in which you sighed of relief only to hear "Y/N"
You close your eyes and turn "Yes?" You whisper
"How does extra credit sound to you?" You have a confused look on your face until you hear someone tapping their pencil repeatedly behind you. "Gallagher here, I feel needs more help to understand the importance of what World Literature is"
"I don't need to understand what this shit is, man."
"You want to graduate?" Your teacher exclaimed, nothing but pure awkwardness was surrounding you as silence entered the room
"My house, at five." The pale boy scribbled what seemed to be his address on a piece of paper, ripping it out poorly and handing it to you as he pushed past you to walk out the door. You nodded and looked up at your teacher who seemed clearly stressed out "I got this, he'll be passing soon," you smile as you grip onto your books As the day passed by, the knot of nervousness went from your stomach to all over your body. This was your first time tutoring someone, that someone being someone who terrified you.
With all your overthinking you didn't realize you were at the fence of his house. You take a deep breath and walk towards the door. Waiting for the door to open didn't take long, you saw a boy with red hair open the door. "Um is Carl her-?"
"CARL," he screamed, making you flinch, "Come in." You nodded and rushed in. "I'm Ian," he said, putting his hands in his pockets while rocking back and forth smiling.
"I'm (Y/N)."
"Here to buy something from Carl?" You heard footsteps coming down and saw Carl, the pale boy in denim jeans and a dirty button up shirt. For some reason this made you feel more nervous.
"Upstairs?" Carl said while glancing at you.
"Condoms Carl, condoms," Ian shouted as you made your way up, hauling your textbooks.
Carl laughed and said, "Don't worry, no condoms here, well, only if you want to use some." You cringed at his shit flirting but at the same time, you thought how it was hilarious how he flirted in such poor taste. "Yo' what's even the point of World Literature?" Carl asked laying on his bed.
You leaned against the door, "World Literature? It's super important. It gives us an outlook of what past society was so we can improve and see the difference of our current society"
"What the fuck.."
"It's not that hard, that's why I'm here to help. Let's get started? Maybe some Henrik Ibsen?" You saw Carl motion to you to come in and you walked slowly but surely onto his bed and sat next to him, plopping your backpack in the space between you two. After reading "A Doll House" out loud for about an hour, you were looking at Carl's reactions that were full of confusion and astonishment.
"Wait so this bitch think she's a doll?" You laugh and began to explain the understanding of the character "Question," Carl asked looking up at you.
"Yeah?"
"How long are you gonna tutor me Ms. (Y/L/N)"
"As soon as you get your extremely low F to a C, Gallagher."
"Shit, " Carl said running his hand through his hair in frustration.
"You're gonna be fine, we'll get through this together alright?" You said trying to comfort him. Carl smiled slightly and nodded. "Alright, Mr. Valer left you some analysis questions. Just answer these, and think about what I read you and give the best answer you can"
"When is this due?"
"Friday, you’ve got three days to do I, Gallagher." You started to gather your materials and head towards the door when you heard Carl speak up.
"Can you help me with it? I mean you're leaving but when you can? I can't do this shit man."
You sigh and look down "Tomorrow, alright. Same place? After school."
"Yeah, just coming over would be better." You smile and try walking away but get stopped once again. "Thanks, (Y/L/N)." You look down and smile to yourself and walk away to the door and leave.
Waking up the next morning and for the rest of the day, all you could think about was going to Carl's house. As if you were happy to be tutoring him, you hardly knew him but talking to him seemed so easy. You've always been so quiet, reserved, and awkward, but talking to Carl, even though if it was about homework, was so soothing.
As the bell rang, you rushed out of your Geometry class to try and get a head start to Carl's house. Walking to his house, all you thought about was his pale skin. How soft it looked, how it made his eyes look so powerful. Every time he looked at you while you read, you tried not to look back. It's as if, if you were to turn you'd be tricked into just staring at him for forever. You didn't really mind that though.
You made your way to the gate and opened it, and knocked. This time hearing Carl's voice, "I'LL FUCKING GET IT DEBBIE." You take a step back and hear the door open. You smile and see Carl in a black muscle shirt and some sweats, which note, he made them look really good. "Come in." He said smiling slightly.
You went in and saw what seemed to be his sister feeding a child. Carl walked in and pointed to the red-haired girl, "This is my sister Debbie, Debbie this is (Y/N), my tutor."
"So you're the 'pretty thang' tutoring my retarded brother." You laugh and look up to Carl and he was making hand movements for her to shut up.
"We gotta go and read, let's go (Y/N)."
"It was really nice meeting you, Debbie." She smiled at you and you went up the stairs along with Carl. "I'm so sorry about that..," Carl said slouching against the bed to drop himself onto the floor.
"You're fine, Gallagher," you laugh throwing your backpack on his bed.
"I didn't even really mean to say that, I mean you.'"
"I think you're pretty cute yourself Gallagher," you said cutting him off and sitting down on the bed to try and not talk about this much. You were terrible at flirting and you even calling him cute made you so nervous.
"Really?" He said smiling and looking up to you.
"Yeah, but you know, you'd be cuter doing the analysis that's due in two days now."
"Oh yeah," He pulled out an already crumpled up paper with sloppy writing. He handed it to you and you checked the one you were handed back as an answer key and you were surprised to see Carl got half of it right
"Oh shit, this is good Carl. You got a 7.5 out of ten"
"What the fuck, really?"
"Yeah, just explain yourself more and you'll get an 9 or 10."
"What would explaining do? Don't you just have to answer what's asked?" Carl asked irritably.
"You need evidence to back up your answer. Here like this," You began scribbling on the back of the paper to leave some notes to help Carl out. You felt him looking at you again, but this time you gave in and turned.
"How long are we gonna do this?" "What?" You asked. You guys were inches apart. "Tutoring? How long are you gonna tutor me for?" "As long as it takes until you're better in class." "I hope I never get better."
You look down and laugh slightly, "I like coming here, Carl. A lot." You guys look up at each other and start working on the analysis. And in your mind, you knew even after the tutoring was done, you'd see Carl as much as you were starting to do so.
-3 Weeks Later-
You were closing your locker as you were heading to lunch. That’s when you heard someone screaming ‘move’ to what seemed to be everyone You looked up and saw Carl running towards you. You guys saw each other four times a week and not just for tutoring. You guys spent hours talking about each of your owns life's and everything about each other to know about. It was great, and you just fell more and more for this kid each day.
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!" You smile and grab him by his shoulders and hold him still.
"What is it, Gallagher?" You laughed.
"B-BITCH!" He held up the book report you both worked long nights on.
"You're passing?!" You said smiling, you felt so proud of your white boy.
"Fuck yeah!" He said smirking. And then it hit you, you wouldn't see Carl as much anymore. "What's wrong?" He asked confused.
"Nothing, I'm so happy for you Carl." You smiled, trying not to cry over something as selfish as this.
"I was gonna ask..." Carl said looking down and fiddling around with the paper
"Yeah?" You said noticing you guys were the only one in the hallway from everyone leaving to lunch. "So, do you wanna have dinner tonight at my house?" Carl said looking up at you finally. You were in shock of words and nodded like an idiot yes. "Cool, come by at 5 alright?" He asked. You nodded and then you felt his lips on your cheek "Later, (Y/L/N)"
You watch him walk out the doors at school. "Bye Gallagher," you whisper to yourself. After school ended, you noticed you had three hours to get ready. You rushed home and saw your parents, they already knew who Carl was after explaining why you got home at 1 AM and to that, your answer was "Tutoring Carl Gallagher" so it wasn't much of a surprise for them to see you getting ready to go off to the Gallagher house. You ran upstairs to your room and dug out an outfit, you had to look for something that was decent enough for a dinner. You decided on an off the shoulder long sleeve with black jeans and low cut boots.
You sighed and decided to let your hair down as well as it was always up. You looked down, an hour left, you're only fifteen minutes away from his house so you decided to pick up a pie from the grocery store and start walking. You plugged in your earphones as you walked down the street and everything that was on your mind was Carl. You craved him in every way possible, you wanted him to hold you, to tell you everything that's ever happened in his life all over again that made him the way he is now, you wanted to learn about his favorite colors, favorite songs, what made him happy, everything really even though he already did so. You can hear that each day of your life.
You pay for the apple pie you got and rushed your way to the Gallagher house. You knocked and had an older woman in her twenties answer "Hi, I'm -"
"(Y/N)?" She said with an optimistic smile.
"Yeah" you smiled back.
"I'm Fiona, come on in." You slide her the pie. "Oh wow, Carl she's a keeper," she yelled as she headed towards the kitchen.
You laugh and see a group of people setting up the table "Is that the girl he likes?" You heard a boy with blue eyes and scruffy dirty blonde hair whisper to Ian.
"Say it any fucking louder," Carl said turning around. "Whoa," he said.
"What Gallagher?" You smiled heading towards him to hug him, you needed too. You wanted to touch him, not sexually. But just anyway that made you feel him.
"You look nice," he said wrapping his hands around your shoulder.
"Wow, you truly are bringing out another side of my brother," Debbie said rocking the baby.
"This little one is so cute. Who's is she?" You asked making cute faces at the baby.
"Mine, her names Francis," she smiled looking down at her baby. You smiled and realized how happy she was with her child.
"Should we start?" Fiona said.
"Yeah, I’m starving," Carl said sitting down. You sat down next to him and started handing around the food, and shared two hours worth of laughs, obvious comments of what seemed to be Carl talking too much about you to his siblings, and a lot of eye contact with Carl.
"Well, (Y/N) and I are gonna head up to my room for a while," Carl said standing up.
Dumbfounded you just agreed and followed him up. "Thank you for everything and dinner," you said to his family before rushing up. You went into his room and saw Carl laying down on his bed.
"Music?" He asked, taking out his phone and headphones. You nodded and got up on the bunk bed you've gotten so used too and laid next to him plugging in an earphone. "This is my favorite song right now," Carl said shuffling through his music.
"I should've let you known, that you're my only one, I know you're feeling numb.."
You listen to the song and relax with the smooth beat it had and turn to face Carl who was looking up the ceiling."Carl," You whispered.
"Mm?"
"I really fucking like you." You blurt out. The song ends, perfect fucking timing.
"You do?" He asks arching an eyebrow.
"A lot." You said.
"Me too." You lifted yourself up and looked down at him.
"What?"
"I like you. A lot. Too." He said lifting himself up as well. You guys made eye contact again, and you smiled. "Do you trust me?" Carl asked grabbing both your hands.
"Yeah. "Okay. Tell me if it's too much"
"Wha-?" You were interrupted. You felt Carl's lips press against your shoulder, thank god you decided to wear that. You close your eyes and feel his lips going up your neck and you let out a sharp breath and you felt him laugh under his breath. You felt his lips on your cheek now, and you looked up and felt his breath on your lips. You decided to take charge and kiss him. Not making out, just a simple kiss. He stops and smiles.
"What is this?" You said looking down and fiddling with his hands
"Well, I need a reason for you to come over." He laughs.
"Asshole" you chuckle.
"I like the title girlfriend and boyfriend." You look up and smile and throw your hands around his neck.
"Stay." He muddles into your neck as you go back to laying down.
"The latest I can go is 11, it's 8..."
"I haven't felt this okay in a while you know. This house Is really fucked.. you make it okay, (Y/L/N)," he said laying down on your chest.
You play with his hair, and reply with, "You've made everything in my life okay Gallagher." Carl ended up falling asleep on your chest, and you couldn't help but just stare. How did this go from a boy you tutored and had sarcastic arguments with to now the boy who is your boyfriend and who is asleep in your arms right at this moment. You didn't know how, but you didn't question it. Carl Gallagher was your boyfriend.
You saw it was 10 and you needed to catch the bus home. You kissed Carl's cheek and made your way out. "You make him happy. Don't ruin him okay?" Fiona said smiling at you. You nod and walk out the house.
The next morning you woke up in your bed, thankfully it was Saturday so you could go off and spend the day with Carl. You woke up and noticed your parents were still asleep, you went downstairs and took a quick shower and changed into some shorts and a random tank top and flannnel. You grabbed a banana and left a note for your parents so they wouldn't freak out.
You decided to take the bus as it was only 8 AM and didn't feel like walking. You texted Carl and he immediately responded.
You smiled at what he called you and got on the bus. You spent some time last night to see what song Carl played, and you just kept replaying it and replaying it. You saw your stop and rushed off, running up the stairs and opening the door.
"Morning (Y/N)," Ian said drinking his coffee.
"Morning" you smiled, picking up Liam and smothering him in kisses. "Carl's upstairs in bed sleeping,” Ian said grabbing Liam from you to shower him.
"Little fucker said he was up.” He laughs and gives you permission to go up You go up the room and see his hand hanging out, you climb up and kiss his cheek and his neck.
"Mm, what?" Carl said groggily and deeply.
"Mm, I love when my boyfriend has a morning voice. Keep talking," you say kissing his cheek.
He smiles and gets up half asleep, "Morning baby girl," he says.
"Get up. I'm spending today with you okay?"
"Okay, let me shower," he said.
"Liam's gonna take a bath first," you said running your fingers through his hair
He sighs and you lay down next to him "There's a party tonight." He said looking over at you.
"And?" You said sharply.
"We should go, I'll take your party virginity away," He said.
"You're an idiot. And I'm already terrible at being social, you know that Carl," You say looking over at him.
"Hey," he says running his hands up down your arm, "You got me, I'll be there to protect you from the assholes and cunts," he says smiling.
"I'm not even dressed for a party," you said rolling your eyes.
"You look beautiful, cut that shit," he said getting up to pick an outfit out. You sigh and after an hour of arguing, you decided to go to the party.
"Just borrow some of Debbie's makeup if you think you need it," Carl said as he made his way to the shower. You sigh and find Debbie to which she agrees to letting you use her makeup. You just decided on keeping it "simple" by just doing your eyebrows, eyeliner, mascara and highlighting your cheeks a bit with some eyeshadow. You had a few hours left until the party but you and Carl decided to get ready just in case.
After three hours of talking to Carl about setting up a date for him to meet your parents, to making lunch for Liam, to him talking about military school, 7 PM came around. The two of you headed out to this random dudes house that you didn't even know. You walked around and held hands, getting some looks from local neighbors. Suddenly you got a text from your mom and you flipped shit, you're not used to lying to your parents frequently about big things.
"Give me the phone." Carl says.
"You're sleeping over, Fiona comes home at night late, so when I hear her just sneak into Debbie's room." You nodded and proceeded to walk to the party, you felt a knot in your stomach. Once you arrived, the aroma of alcohol and weed hit you and the image of scattered red cups, people making out, and vomiting was surrounding you. "Let's go," Carl said gripping your hand tighter as you entered the house.
Flashing colored lights hit you, with the the blast of rap music busting your ears out. You smiled, your first party, with your first boyfriend. You've never felt this way. Rebellious. You smiled and grabbed onto Carl. "Let's go over here, I want you to meet my friends." You nodded and felt Carl's hand wrap around your waist as you made your way upstairs. You entered a room, full of smoke and saw a group of guys in a circle passing around a blunt.
"White boy Carl!" You heard one of them scream.
"What's up dude, haven't seen you in a while," Carl said while greeting him the way dudes do. You stay back and let Carl do his hellos. "And this is my lady, (Y/N)," Carl said pointing to you. You smiled and waved.
"She's fine bro, you did good," one of the guys exclaimed as he was stoned off his ass. Carl smacked his head and signaled you to go over and sit with them "You ever smoke (Y/N)," the same guy asked.
"No," you chuckled.
"You want too?"
"AYE. Chill out," Carl said.
You saw how angry he got so easily you grabbed him and whispered "I want to babe," you told him.
"Damn.. really?" Carl said surprised. You nodded your head.
"Give me this shit bro," Carl said grabbing the barely made blunt.
You stuck it in your mouth, and mumbled, "So you inhale and then?"
"Inhale for a few seconds and blow it out," one of the boys said.
You nodded and Carl lit the other side up. You inhale what seemed to be fast because you started to have a terrible coughing fit. Everyone started laughing and you felt Carl grab your hand, "Babe are you okay? Shut the fuck up, it's not fucking funny" You felt weird and you started cracking up along with everyone else. You grabbed the blunt again and inhaled for a long time and held it in and blew it out and only coughed a bit this time.
"Babe, you do it," you said handing it to Carl.
"No, I'm gonna take care of you okay?" Carl said kissing your cheek. After smoking four more puffs, you felt utterly confused and tired but all at the same time you felt like you could do everything and anything.
"Carl, I like you," you slurred.
He laughed and replied with, "That's why we're dating."
"No. I like YOU, all i think about is you even when I'm with you."
"Let's go home okay baby girl?"
"Okay babe," you laughed out loud as he grabbed your hand and pulled you out the house.
"We're gonna take the bus okay?" Carl said, as you walked out. You nodded. As you walked away together holding hands, a group of girls walked by.
"That's his new girlfriend?" The blonde girl asked.
"Guess so, might've cheated but he really did a downgrade." They all laughed and you felt tears hit your cheek.
"Hey, why don't you have someone else fuck you and give you a disease again?" Carl screamed at them.
They turned and all their smiles dropped and they just continued to walk. "They're right." You sobbed.
"No no, those are people who waste their lives making others hell. I want you baby girl." Carl's words comforted you but you still cried. "Come here." You cried into Carl's chest and you felt him rub your back.
"I'm not pretty, I'm not normal, I'm so fucking weird and I don't deserve someone as great as you Carl" you muffled while crying.
"Hey, No," Carl said lifting your chin up, "You changed my life. I'm passing something I didn't even understand now thanks to you. I want to change everything for you now. For us. If anything I don't deserve you. But hey I'm thankful to say you're mine, and I wanna make this last hopefully forever you know. I don't need fake bitches like that in my life." He said pointing to the direction of his ex and friends.
"Forever?" You say looking up.
"Let's try baby girl." You smile slightly and pull Carl's face down to kiss him, this time more serious. You felt both your lips moving together perfectly. You heard the bus engine stop In front of you, and you both got on. Laying your head on his shoulder.
Once you got home, you put on one of his hoodies and some sweats and laid with him, falling asleep to music. "Carl."
"Hm?"
"Play that song you showed me the first night we kissed." He smiles and puts it on repeat, kissing your cheek and saying goodnight. Your beautiful and caring boyfriend falls asleep. "You're my only one Carl." And you fell asleep, in Carl Gallagher's arms. The idiot you helped is now the love of your life.

yet again i have people who hate debbie following me for some reason… so i changed my bio, and here’s an (un)friendly reminder:
this blog (m4ndysk4nkovich) is dedicated to debbie gallagher! yes, my url and current profile picture are both mandy milkovich-related, but overall, this blog is for debbie. a lot of what i post is meta- and a lot of that is about debbie (also my sideblog is @highbythebeach666 so that’s where my other shit is but anyways). i also post a lot about mandy milkovich and gallavich (a lot of my more popular meta is about gallavich or all of the gallagher’s but if you actually read it it’s mostly debbie). in fact, i post about mandy and gallavich almost as much as debbie, but still a lot of what many people know me for is my debbie defense/analysis. i like her for a myriad of reasons and i also relate to her a lot, and if you don’t like her that is perfectly fine, but don’t bother following me because my content will not please you- and regarding that, if it doesn’t please you, fuck off! i could really care less- i’ve been sent sooo many fucking essays by anons explaining to me exactly why i should hate debbie and it’s like… dude. ever since may this entire blog has really been about her- i mean, i even started watching the show because of her, but you expect me to change all of my views and delete my posts because of someone hiding behind anon? no, fuck that. someone said they followed me because they think i’m funny but they don’t like debbie, and thank you, but that’s also kinda stupid if you ask me. read the room. do the bio that says “queen debbie gallagher stan” and the many many many posts about debbie/debbie haters not make you think that i give a shit? ugh
but i am trying to make this blog more shameless-centric and i’m trying to organize it so that most of my non-shameless posts are on the sideblog, but even if it’s all shameless-centric, you will still be seeing things about debbie. a lot.
anyway- i post meta, headcanons, sometimes fanfiction, and weird other posts about shameless. my favorite characters are debbie, ian, mandy, and mickey and i do not tolerate almost any slander about any of them. if anyone does stumble upon my blog and thinks that i’m funny and wants to follow me that’s great and i’ll most likely follow you back, but i don’t understand the point of following me if you hate the majority of what i post about… that’s stupid and again, you don’t need to rant about it in my inbox you can literally just unfollow or even block me, idgaf.
#anyways#welcome to another episode of aria getting bullied by anons#😭😭😭#it’s fine this anon was kinda funny but i’m not reading all of the ask it’s insanely long#shameless#debbie gallagher#info post#because a lot of people on here are idiots

Frank
Wow, girl! You’re bringing out the big guns right away!!! Alright…
Frank…
I mean, bottom line is he’s a HORRIBLE person. His kind of crazy is a little endearing because with this being a TV show some of the crazy things he says/does are funny, but then I put it in perspective of the real world and I hate him. There isn’t a lot that redeems him in my book but there are a couple of times that my bleeding heart bled for him.
I appreciated him being so accepting of Ian’s sexuality and not seeing it as a huge deal that he was gay, especially considering the very up close and personal way in which he found out. I also like that when Carl had questions about homosexuality Frank did explain that there is nothing wrong with it and some men are just naturally attracted to other men.
I feel bad for his alcoholism because it is a really destructive and difficult addiction to kick, but at the same time why should I feel bad for someone who isn’t making the effort to change? He’s never in this show made an effort to genuinely change his ways and so my sympathy for his addiction and any consequences of his addiction such as his resulting liver failure, was pretty low. However, I am a bleeding heart when it comes to people being in pain and I genuinely hurt for him when he was hurting. Of course his going right back to drinking after his transplant sobered that up pretty quickly….
Finally, Frank is a huge lover. He loves hard and strong and seeing his heartbroken reaction to Monica really hit me. As destructive as they were (apart and together) it is clear that they loved each other deeply and so seeing him experience that loss, especially after he lost Bianca, was pretty sad.
@fluffypuppymojo had this to add and I simply had to edit my original analysis to include it because I can’t believe I forgot! : “My heart bled for him in those episodes where we saw how badly abused he had been by his mother -- whether it was them interacting and her demeaning him or when he was delirious and alluded to his mother having sex with him (raping him) when he was a boy.” To this I add I was not at all upset when Peggy died, I was not at all upset for her when we found out she was sick. In fact, she answered a LOT of questions I’m sure many of us had about Frank because he did pretty much grow into another version of her, minus the meth labs. But in the hospital when he was drugged up from his transplant he mistook Shiela for his mother and alluded to sexual abuse he likely endured in his childhood. This was also a moment where my heart absolutely broke for him because it explained A LOT.
HOWEVER….
His pragmatism is absolutely disgusting. He will throw ANYONE under the bus (including his own wife and children) in order to save his own skin. He uses people and flushes them away after they’ve been used up for what they are worth to him and it thoroughly disgusts me. He outright abuses Ian multiple times in early seasons and dismisses his other children until he deems them necessary for something. His attitude on mental health and psychiatric medicine is practically criminal when he can see his own wife struggling with a mental illness and yet insisting she doesn’t need medication regardless of how bad she gets and he pimps her out for money!! He encourages Ian not to get psychiatric help even after he himself was irritated by Ian’s mania and even after Ian almost battered Debbie’s head with a baseball bat! He’s fucked over his own kids more times than I think anyone can count and has no qualms about putting them in physical danger (let’s not even get into the psychological damage… I don’t have the strength). He ruined Fiona’s wedding (though I agree that she shouldn’t have married Sean because he was lying to her and I argue raped her at one point, BUT that wasn’t Frank’s motive and so I still consider this a negative) and even took that opportunity to criticise his kids by pointing out their lowest points and calling them names, and then is shocked when the family (once again) wants nothing to do with them. He has taken advantage of homeless people for his own monetary gain, has taken advantage of lonely people when he screws things up with his own family… The list is so endless and I could probably go on all day listing the horrible things Frank has done.
Bottom line… Frank is a horrible person and while I always hope he changes a little bit by FINALLY realizing his faults and that his problems are self-induced, I’m pretty much right with Ian, Lip, and Fiona with giving up on him. It’s sad when you see someone who could be a great person continually self-sabotaging but after a bit you just have to harden your heart and sadly that’s where I think we all are with Frank (well, me and the Gallaghers I can’t speak for anyone else).
