Sometimes… I think about this.

People always say Mickey was the one who was crazy in love, right? Like, Ian fell faster but Mickey fell deeper? You hear that a lot.

But putting all that aside for a second...Don’t you think the fact that Ian loves Mickey at all is kind of insane? Just purely, I mean.

He fell for and loved someone that pretty much every other person would’ve avoided without a second thought. No hesitation.

That alone feels like a kind of pure madness.

I think that’s why people (myself included) love this scene so much.

Ian just loves Mickey exactly as he is. Even in moments where anyone else would’ve looked at him and gone, “What the hell is wrong with that guy?” Ian just thinks it’s cute. Promise eternal love to such a man.

He loved him when he was the dirtiest boy in all of America, with no reason or hesitation.

He’s just a crazy man. (And I mean that as a compliment.)
