I'm impressed how watching this movie has given me a whole new favorite, because when Rui was first shown, I had a ton of questions about him and Ukkomon -- even though their names weren't revealed.
You know… Something about Watanabe-sensei's art made me wonder a ton of things like "how old is he? "What kind of role will they have in the OG Adventure branch?" and I was definitely excited and happy to see a brand new story of something prior to Taichi and Daisuke's groups. You know, I have to admit that I felt robbed when ▽ put that cold opening invoking the Adv'99 novel short passage talking about the previous group going to the Digital World and the awakening of the Holy Beasts that I would have loved if this whole series was more about Meiko, Maki & Daigo.
Anyway, Rui and Ukkomon were thrown into this world with the premise that they were the first ones. If you know me well enough, this is something I wanted to know from day one, since I learned about the math lore and stuff. I wanted to see who came before Taichi and Daisuke. Kizuna definitely introduced us to Menoa, but her role in the movie… No spoilers here.
I wanted to know more about these new characters with a deep curiosity. Then, in late July 2022 at DigiFes, they just revealed their names and JP's voice actors. And they were two of my favorite VAs. And I was SO DEEP IN SPECULATION that I ended up making a lot of people possibly associate Rui with me when they see him (sorry), especially how for some reason I got one of my grumpy speculated Rui art on the icon for the 大和田ルイ tag on pixiv (sorry again).
I've been so aggressive about wanting to watch this movie and such, believing that my country wouldn't get it because we don't get anything new unless subbed on Crunchyroll yeah, that I was just expecting to watch it via a copy of the movie from my friends with either fansubs or EN subs ripped from the official release. But then… They actually released the movie here. And a lot of people were like "NI YOU HAVE TO GO WATCH THIS MOVIE, YOU'RE LITERALLY PROMOTING IT NONSTOP IF YOU DON'T WATCH THIS WE'LL BE UPSET!" yeah.
The fact that the BR dub was scary in that PV made me afraid that people would make fun of it and turn this movie into a joke. But then they released the dub cast and most of the VAs were back. And the surprise was that one of my favorite BR dub VAs was voicing Rui in it. I watched the movie and really had a different opinion about it. I don't think it was a miscast or inappropriate -- it's just that you can't compare him to a legend like Ogata, man. But I loved the BR dub of that movie SO MUCH.
Anyway… I didn't expect to go full Rui-Ukkomon brainrot before. But now… And watching it again with some friends… I think they just clicked with me so much that I feel like I understand them on an emotional level.
A kid with no friends? A kid and mon who are terrible at communicating and just accidentally mess things up while trying to express how much they love each other? A kid who made friends with the 02 kids and learned that perfection does not exist and that you have to speak with your heart?
Yeah. Those hit me hard. I feel them a lot.
I would say I'm sorry for being so obnoxious and insufferable about them. But I'm not sorry for falling in love with them to the extent that I draw a TON of them nonstop and want to talk about them more, do headcanons, fanfics, and so many other things.
I'm always open to Rui-Ukko gushing and chatting.
And I hope my love for them is positive, encouraging you to find the characters that connect with you on an emotional level.

Travel Blog: Leipziger Buchmesse Friday
Timcampy's Adventures, meeting Friends & Religious Gold
Day two of the Bookfair. Today I was about to wear the new variant of the Runaway Outfit again, which I had made for the Polaris back last year AND the new Innocence I just made one week before the con.
Day two started very early for me ... I woke up at 3 in the morning and with a cat using me as trampoline and the overstimulation from the day before I was alerted by everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I wanted to cosplay still. And even work with Make up again. I am super unskilled with Make up for Cosplay because aside the curse I haven't used any since my teens and just started doing it in ... October. I have learned quite a bit since then like switching to a different type of make up that doesn't need 5 days to be scrubbed off, that's better for my already sensitive eyes.
I also snapped off one of the nails from the Innocence and learned I need ... assisstance when visiting the bathroom while wearing it. oof.
Tumblr media
I'm thankful I was not the driver for this day and just was able to chill for once after being stuck in traffic the evening before.
This time we actually started with taking different photos before the hall got too full, we even made a small video.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the fair itself the section for comics/manga had started as a part of the fantasy and children's section ages ago and 10 years ago it got its own hall and even was expanded last year to 1 1/2 halls. Hall 1 was mainly artists this time with a HUGE department for artists and several rows of an artists alley along with some merchants. The half of Hall 3 was different publishers like Crunchyroll, Tokyopop, Nintendo and bigger merchants or even other conventions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have to say my feeling of hunger was not existent that day but I felt my eyes were getting worse, I even had to put on my glasses for a while, hoping it would be better. Was truly motivated me was that the german DVD/Blu Ray Publisher of D.Gray-man still recognized me and asked me to return with the 1st Uniform to take Photos for promoting the series on their Instagram and I was just .. wow. Still can't believe they asked me.
Tumblr media
While we wandered the glass hall several times for finding my DGM Mutuals we decided to give the other sections a visit as Alu had a mission and as we walked through the religious section one vendor gave us a little bible book and ... "real gold" ... uhm.. Mister you know I'm running away from the church yes? :'D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that we went to one of the big book shops and of course I had to look up some cook books. My guilty pleasure. But this time I didn't end up buying a ton, I only got one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in the glass hall I was finally able to locate my DGM Mutuals and we made a pile of Tims as you can see. Haha. I'm so glad I am brave enough to talk to people again, it was an issue in the past that I just shyly crossed their ways and wished they would notice me, but nope, not this time. I also walked to other cosplayers and told them I love their costumes. Just to brighten up their day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A few more impressions from the location itself. If you look closely you can spot the D.Gray-man Nendos of Allen, Kanda and Lavi. Oh and I finally got a pocket watch again! Mainly for my past!Allen Cosplay if I will wear it again, the owl reminds me of the bookshop emblem we see in chapter 249.
Tumblr media
As we later sat down in the glass hall, we got myself a snack for photos and put aside our stuff and I didn't notice but a friend of a friend took Timcampy and played around with him. Until they complained that parts weren't made to their liking and that was the point I was close to snapping. I can tell my was over everything already with the little sleep I had, my eyes acting up, running around all day long already.
I tried to get lost while we went on another window shopping trip and actually bought a Ramen and an Udon bowl. Just to drop the bag 2 minutes after buying. Then I only had a Ramen bowl and a pile of shards. All went downhill then I didn't want to talk, I didn't want a hug, I sat down and tried not to have a panic-mental-breakdown-whatever. I even went out into the rain just to RUN to get the steam off. I went to my friend Julia who luckily involved me into small talk that calmed me down. But the day was ruined. I returned to my friends but some of theirs popped up and started a conversation, usually they are very lovely and I like them but I just couldn't listen to someone talking anymore. I left them to just walk around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was late already and it had started pouring, for now I decided just to stare at the rain running down the glass.
Tumblr media
My friends wanted to calm me down, hug me, but I declined. I didn't want to talk. We went back to Schu's place, I had dinner and went to bed, rolling myself into a blanket like a burrito.

I think yuri on ice is the only anime I've watched in full multiple times in both sub and dub
Like other animes I like I have in fact watched and rewatched various times but I don't think I e watch an anime IN FULL in dub except yuri on ice
And like yuri on ice is 12 episodes so it's not hard to be able to watch in rewatch but other animes that I have watched dubbed was always like partial
Like when I watched Attack on titan junior high I watched that majority in dub but the site I watched it on didn't have all the episodes in dub so it I'd be watching it like until like episode 6 or something and then like episode 8 and 9 would have subtitles but 10 would switch back to dub
I dont think I've ever watched Attack on titan junior high fully in sub either cus I remember rewatching it specifically so I can watch it in sub but some episodes were still dub😭😭😭
I think the first time I watched Haikyuu I watched season one in sub and season 2 in dub but I think I had it on as background noise so I wasn't reading the subs anyway
Not sure in I've fully watched saiki k in dub or not like I've definitely watched it sub and probably a majority in dub but I don't remember if I watched it fully in dub like all of it
I've watched Attack on titan an uncountable amount of times start to finish in sub mostly and probably a majority in dub, anytime I rewatch it its always subbed idk why but I whenever I think to rewatch it it's always subbed unless the intention is to watch dubbed, I think I've watch season 1-2 fully in dub, most of season 3 I've seen dubbed but similarly to junior high except I pick and choose which episodes I wanna watched in dub, I've also watch like half of season 4 part 1 in dub but yeah I don't think I've ever fully watched Attack on titan in dub
With death note idk depends on the day😭😭 I haven't watch either dub or sub fully but sometimes I just be wanting to watch it different💀
I've watched a couple episodes of naruto in dub
Idk about my hero I don't even remember what episode I left off at I stopped watching a long time ago well not that I stopped watching it's just I was getting caught up at one point cus a new season came out so right then I... stopped getting caught up... and just didn't watch the new season... its been 3 years... I think I've seen season 1 and 2 in dub but... you know clearly not the rest😶
I think I was trying to finish season 4 so I can watch season 5... or like i was starting season 5 of something... like September thru October 2021 I was attempting to get caught up...that checks out right? season 5 came out in 2021 right
Why am I thinking so hard about this😭
I believe I've watched a few episodes here and there from Jujitsu Kaisien season 1 I've watched in dub but not season 2, crazy i never actually finished jjk season 2 no but cus I would watch it w my friends weekly on the tv monitor at school like every week we would hook up some one laptop to the tv and watch the new episode but when the semester finished we obviously weren't in school and I... well I honestly forgot.. but it wasn't the same yall we were bonding we were having fun we were spending time together like yes I did actually forget but at this point I'll watch it when I decide to rewatch the series
Oh! I've definitely watched ouran in botb dub and sub fully me and my friends used to binge it on sleepovers
This was literally a post about me watching anime dubbed and subbed but it honestly just looks like a list of all the anime I've watched😭😭
Making this post is making me think I should try to log into my crunchyroll account again--

Since you read a lot of Shonen jump, is there manga there that isn't that "mainstream" that you wish more people knew about? (Besides Undead unluck and cypher academy)
Aside from the countless manga that I've watched in horrors as they've drowned in the Swamp of Cancelation, I'm gonna go with the ones that weren't big enough to make the trek westward in the days before simul-releases, most notably Medaka Box and Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
In Japan, all of Yuusei Matsui's works are hits, but over here, it's pretty much only Assassination Classroom so far. Elusive Samurai will undoubtedly get a huge windfall when the anime starts, but Neuro? The anime was on Crunchyroll and had a limited undubbed digital release through Viz, but otherwise it has no presence here at all. Which is a shame, cus it's the best of Matsui's work in my opinion
Sadly, both Neuro and Medaka were just too early. Today, everything in Jump at least gets translated, even if they don't get physical releases, but both of those are stuck with fan translations of...let's say inconsistent quality. I guess that's better than what Psyren got, at least...
Addendum: Hinomaru Zumou arguably arrived at a worse time, since it was in the process of ending when the simul-releases began. We got the first few chapters and the last several translated, but now there's a huge dearth of content that only has a fan translation, and reading everything through fan sites results in poorly formatted official pages that are almost never arranged properly when double-pages come up, inherently making the fan experience worse. I hope that Viz will go back and finish it sooner than later, but I don't even know if they're ever going to do it, and the lackluster anime adaptation preventing the series from gaining enough demand to warrant doing so doesn't help

at work today
me: *uses the term “miasma” in a sentence*
coworker 1: ...What?
coworker 2: Why do I get the feeling that that word means a purplish haze?
me: Because you, like me, learned it from the Inuyasha dub that aired on Toonami like twenty years ago.
coworker 2: HOLY SHIT. HOLY SHIT. STOP CALLING ME OUT LIKE THIS.

Should Sentai OWN UtaPri
My short answer is "No" but let me explain this for y'all When Broccoli created the "Uta no Prince-Sama" series just in general back in 2010 (really in August of 2009 was the first Audition CD but I digress) I'm going to make a wager NO...they DIDN'T expect the series to take off or if they did they expected it to probably "die down" after a while. It's been almost 12 years and we are still seeing it around so if you had made the bet that it WOULD take off like it did then you would be probably rich as hell by now! They PROBABLY also wasn't expecting the series to be a success in DVD sales or even ratings given that the series would be in the 25:00 time slot in Japan (1 AM Sunday Morning) so the DVDs were going to be their driving force (WHOOPS!) Oh yeah and then there are the CD sales which ,when you look at the Billboard charts in Japan a # of the CDs hit #1 so they had something right? Now could they (or even SHOULD THEY) have expected the UtaPri series to take off outside of Japan? Hell no! (Let's be honest fam...we know that ,unless its Love Live, you PROBABLY weren't going to be popular outside of the home market because we were mostly dealing with LL in terms of localized games IIRC) Broccoli might have had their popular game series and CDs but games...nah we wouldn't get ANY games for a good while until 2018 when Shining Live was translated about 5 months after the game came out in Japan. Before that if you wanted to play the games you needed a guide and hoped that someone had made one to know what choice made what route happen for a character. It's wasn't like it is now because Otome/Visual Novel games are far more localized now even if the quality of the games has suffered at times in the most infuriating fashions. CollarXMalice at one point wanted to say hello and the less said about Taisho x Alice the better. But UtaPri was still (for the most part) confined to Japan and DID get its Anime (all 4 seasons) simulcast outside of Japan. All Seasons were broadcast first on Tokyo MX and then put on Crunchyroll later on. I discovered the series literally through a gif of Ren Jinguji back in 2013 and then ordered the first DVD collection (which I might be getting rid of soon) off Amazon and then proceeded to binge it. I immediately became immersed in the world and loved every second of the 13 episode first season and then later closer to Christmas I watched Season 2 on Crunchyroll (this site will be repeated a lot and for good reason so stick with me) and the reason I did it so close to then was because I wanted to watch the Christmas Special which ,was a nice and tidy 22-25 minutes vs. the hour special that will be airing in Japan soon, and I loved it! TO... THIS... DAY... "Shining Star Xmas" is the most watched episode/OVA for me ever when I watched it about 50 times between Christmas day to sometime in February! It's still one of my favorite things about the Anime and I will never forget how much it meant to me to be honest. The only thing that means more to me (outside of a group that will get its own post again later on) is the song "Crystal Time" which I listened to for no joke...about 3 weeks straight because it kicked that much ass! Now you will notice I mentioned that I got the DVD off Amazon well...who distributed it? That would be Sentai Filmworks! Now to be clear at this time I had no issue with them and honestly the amount of times they actually tweeted about the series was mindboggling because of the fact that I didn't think they cared THAT MUCH about the series (and to be clear I still don't but more on that in a minute) but it was interesting because they were tweeting about it constantly and there was a part of me that trusted them but another part of me that...well I AM a Gemini so "trust" is something I don't give up easily The thing is that ,for a good while, the series had a home in two places IIRC: HDIVE which is just a paywall site and Crunchyroll which had a free tier and a premium tier and yes I was a free user so I couldn't watch the episodes right away but I made

Yeah I agree, the storylines Amy and Rory got weren't great. But honestly, I think the cast helped bring life to the characters which is why I like them so much anyway 😊 And yes to Martha! She's so awesome, I actually rewatched her seasons a few months back and found I loved them more than I remembered? I don't really watch current DW now (fell off following it not long after the 50th), but I still like revising the old episodes from time to time. They make me smile 😊 - CC 🦊
We'll find some way to watch tgcf, worry not! If the Funimation route doesn't work I'll see if I can ask around and find something else. I'm so used to looking to sites like Crunchyroll when it comes to non-western animation that I forget the site doesn't list a lot of stuff that isn't just anime 😂CC reveal is in a few days so I'll send you the Funi link for the first episode then and you can see if it works for you too 😊- CC 🦊
Aww, I'm glad you had a good Christmas though ❤️ Where I live decorations aren't too overboard either. A lot of people either put lights outside or on outdoor trees, and a few houses might do a window display. I have seen some videos on YouTube this year though of streets that are purposely decorated extravagantly for people to go and visit, but it's mostly America I've seen those. They look so pretty and a ton of fun though! - CC 🦊
I love your Christmas gift ideas for some of the characters. And lol, omg, you made me laugh with 'wwx not being allowed to give lwj a massage it'll just turn nsfw' because yeah ... yeah it would with them 🤣Matching hair pieces for them though that act like an engagement ring is such a cute idea 🥺I think I'd give jc a puppy, but only if he promises to not upset his brother's phobia with it! He just needs a good pup - - CC 🦊
I'd give lwj a lotus root soup recipe so he could make it for wwx, or if jy is able prod her into the idea of doing so if she hadn't already. wwx can have some new black robes - i'm sure lwj is spoiling him with more luxurious ones, but the boy needs a bigger wardrobe! sizhui and the boys can have an expenses paid meal at their favourite restaurant, with plenty of chicken for jingyi 🤣- CC 🦊
I think this might be my last question time for you before reveal! I'll try and make it a special one 😊 Do you have any favourite memories from this past year? Can be related to something that's happened in fandom or through mdzs, or can just be something that's made you happy or smile. I know 2020 hasn't been the easiest year, but there's been pockets of sunshine between all the crazy! ☀️ - CC 🦊
Talking to you about dw really made me want to rewatch some of the old episodes. I also fell off pretty soon after the 50th, though I did return to watch all of 12′s episodes and I would watch the new ones as well but they’re simply not easily available to me atm 😩
Aaaaahh I can’t wait to start our lil tgcf buddy watch!! It’s gonna be great cause if we love it we can scream abt it together and if we don’t like it we can roast it together 😂 (but I think we’re gonna love it)
Oh yeah, I’ve also seen some crazy american christmas decorations on youtube where the entire street is lit up. I would love to see that irl some day!
I thought abt giving jc a puppy, too but... wwx... 😅 though maybe wwx should get therapy sessions for christmas so he can work through his trauma and then maybe one day not be afraid of dogs anymore or at least not of jc’s dog 😅and aaaahhhh yes!! jyl introducing lwj to her cooking and especially the lotus root and ribs soup and lwj would be so diligent in learning how to do it perfectly bc he loves wwx so much!!! 🥺yes more robes for wwx!!! and maybe also some colourful ones (like not bright colours but maybe jewel toned?? like a really dark blue or red? 👀 he’d look like a snacc)
and that’s such a sweet question! i’m not going to lie i had to think abt it for a moment cause as you said, 2020 really wasn’t the best of years for any of us, but i have a few:
buying my first car!!! whooo a bitch is free to go wherever she wants whenever she wants!! (if covid would let me 😩)
finding an apartment and looking forward to living by myself (i CANNOT wait to decorate my apartment he way i want it to look!!)
the realisation that i’m fully and truly over my ex and that i’m actually quite content with being single (do i still want love? yeah sure but i’m not desperately craving it anymore and it feels so liberating)
the new lady gaga album giving me life
discovering the untamed and and just LOVING something so much and wholeheartedly again. i’ve missed being so wrapped up in one piece of media cause i haven’t had that in quite some time and it feels so nice!
joining the mdzs fandom who have been the nicest and most welcoming ppl ever! i’ve been on this website for almost a decade and never have i felt like i belong somewhere or like i had mutuals who are my friends until now. i have met so many amazing ppl in the past few months since i joined the fandom and it makes me so happy!! i love all of you, including you, dear CC! you all have made me life so much brighter! ❤️(also going along with that: returning to gifmaking and just having a creative outlet again is SO MUCH FUN)
this is related to the previous point but it stuck with me: one night when i went to bed, i was smiling so much and i felt so indescribably happy simply because ppl on here were being nice to me and my gifsets were doing well and we were all having a laugh at something fandom-related and i just... it sounds so stupid but i went to sleep with a smile on my face and i don’t remember the last time that happened
getting passionate about learning a new language which is chinese! i don’t know for how long that will last but atm i’m enjoying it so much and i hope i’ll get to at least a semi-fluent level! it’s a language that’s completely different from the other languages i’ve learned so far and i loooove the characters!! also it makes me feel productive during these boring times.
asakdjfgjdfdkgf so many of these are related to mdzs but i truly feel like it saved me from spiralling into a dark seasonal depression. maybe not the healthiest way to cope but better than nothing... 🤷🏻‍♀️
Dear CC, I want to thank you for keeping me company and asking me so many fun questions this past month! 💕 I can’t wait to find out who you are and start watching tgcf with you. I hope you had just as much fun with your personal CC as I had with you. See you on NYE! 😘

To add to Ren's monolgue, as we went to the same school for all but 5th grade, we actually did have a 4th grade technology teacher, the only reason I remember him is because they changed from calling the class "enrichment" to calling it "technology" when we went to that school.
My experience with technology was QUITE a bit behind everyone else my age, I lived in a rural area and had dial up internet until I was 11 years old, when everyone else had wifi by 2nd or 3rd grade at the latest. When I was young, the only thing I used the computer for was to play cosmic pinball, and I got pretty good at it.
I never used the internet until I got into elementary school, and then we had the page that was set up by the district for all elementary assigned computers, which had links for sites like starfall and uptoten, and other little games that Mr. Phillips would add to it (he was the enrichment teacher at our main elementary school 1st grade onwards).
Around that time I remember sending my granny emails from home using Juno as the family email account. Apparently that account still exists, and I still have the username and password, so I could probably find some old files of family photos that we sent around that time, if anyone's curious about jpegs circa 2008.
When we first used YouTube in my family, it was at my grandma and grandpa's house after church on Sundays, and the only things I remember vividly are watching zuzu pet videos (specifically an 8 minute one with them zooming around a pool table), early Taylor swift music videos, from the first two albums, the third had just been released and Mine was the only video out yet, and I'd search up cats, and there was a series(?) called funny cats, which was early internet cat meme slideshows.
In the 4th grade, we were assigned laptops to do homework on. This worked great for me, obviously, as I had no wifi and my parents refused to take me to McDonald's to use the free wifi because they were convinced that I would beg for fast food, which was a luxury only the rich could afford (my family wasnt poor, my parents just hate spending money on us).
When we finally got wifi in the 6th grade, we got our first laptop (it still works, it's 9), and we played plants vs zombies on it religiously. I had every award and high score imaginable, I was very proud, but by the time we got into middle school after the summer was done, the game was already old news. 6th grade was the year of song parody videos. Anyone remember Wasabi Productions? They were HUGE. Koko, Ren, Pharoah, Ethan, and I made a YouTube channel, convinced we were going to become celebrities like the early YouTubers, but we never got 50 subscribers.. The videos are still up, Rens mom didn't let Ren over for a while because she was mad they were on the internet and thought people would find out all of their information and kidnap them, which was a common fear at that point, which is why we weren't allowed to use our real names on YouTube.
Speaking of middle school YouTube, copyright wasn't really a big thing at that point, so you could watch almost anything on there at that point. Any anime I wanted. And what wasnt on there could be easily obtained from pirating sites, like Crunchyroll (yes, I was a pirating site, and yes, they still wanted subscriptions). Oh and 2012 crunchyroll? If you didn't subscribe, there was no worry of ads, you would just only be able to watch the first half of the episode. I went through many animes watching only the first half of each episode... And the "Top 10 Anime ___" were everywhere at that point. My friend ariel would always come over and have me watch the most recent "10 hottest anime men" videos (I swear if I saw one more picture of a v*mpire kni*ht character, I was gonna be sick).
Then the schools blocked sites. They still do this, but it was ridiculous back then. Disney was blocked. No Disney games allowed, I guess. One day in 6th grade, a group of 8th graders found out how to get access to blocked sites on a computer, and YouTube was left open on it. We did not do much that class, after all, we could watch Wasabi!!! I still have some of those parodies stuck in my head... Sleepovers in middle school included playing the Sims 3, making your friends, classmates, and teachers. Then talking about this in front of them in school the next Monday and getting... strange looks.
Social media in middle school, everyone had Facebook. Unless their parents were ridiculously strict. Like mine. Google+ was actually relevant to those of us in that situation. I still remember texting my friends over Google+, with weird little emojis. My parents decided Pinterest was okay, as I didn't have to post anything, so I finally got one in 8th grade. If anyone looked through the conversations Ren and I had on there, they would never have made sense of it these days.
In 8th grade, the strangest thing happened at my school. People actually liked Homestuck. It was a thing. If you could get through it and be caught up, you were a GOD. Webcomics were reaching new popularity, and don't even get me started on some of them. All middle school webcomics were unnecessarily convoluted. We also all wanted to write one. Or be in one someone made. And fanfiction..
Fanfiction was not new, but the purge of fanfiction had just happened, and so many were being written or rewritten. Deviantart and Fanfiction.net were huge. AO3 was a thing, but it wasn't very big (at least in my area). Deviantart was blocked by school internet, but Fanfiction.net wasn't, so I read a lot on there as high school began. Now as Ren tells it, Tumblr wasn't Technically blocked, but the internet was too slow to run it, unless you went to the specialized tech school (like Ren, unlike me). I created my Tumblr in the 9th grade, I only have 120 followers on it. It's been active for almost seven years...
I got my first smartphone in 10th grade, which meant I could finally use apps on my phone instead of just my 2009 tablet!! It only had 8gb of storage, but it was free, and it still works. I traded apps on that thing every month or so, I had to get rid of them and then put them back on depending on what I was fixated on. I was never really up to date on social media, I just got Twitter this past year, and I only got snapchat two years ago. I used my phone mostly for streaming and casual gaming.
And all of this is leaving out the ridiculous scams and videos that were passed around. Technology has advanced quickly over the past 20 years, and who knows where it'll go in the next 20!! Maybe 3D printers will be able to print living cells!! Maybe we'll get better submarines to further explore the oceans!! Maybe the only thing that will happen is that phones have more storage. We don't know, so here's to hoping the future of technology is just as strange and fascinating as the last 20 years!!
Anyone else born in the late 90s/early 00s remember having a day around 3rd grade dedicated specifically to teaching you how to use search engines? Back when yahoo was an actual competitor to google? And sometimes we used it?
