Six Sentence Sunday

It’s Sunday for me, so here is a short snippet from my current WIP as my offering for Six Sentence Sunday.

This is from Singer (Not the Song), one of the fics that I'm writing for @hashiramaweek2023.

Anija wields the bachi with more enthusiasm than skill, and Tobirama winces as his brother hits another wrong note. As an attempt to follow the customs of his beloved, Anija's decision to learn how to accompany Madara-sama on the samisen was not a bad idea. Signifying a willingness to bend, it's appropriate and Tobirama approves of the project. What he does not approve of is Anija's ambition. Madara-sama already demonstrated his willingness to cater to Anija's capabilities when he chose a song which allowed them both to play their parts during the peace negotiations, even if Tobirama is sure that the memory of his brother happily chirping like a baby bird will live long in the minds of those who witnessed it. Why couldn't Anija do the same?

The mother of the victim who died in a road accident in Pune expresses her pain

The mother of the victim, who died in a road accident after being hit by an overspeeding Porsche driven by a teen, burst into tears as she answered questions about his son. The accident happened in Pune during the early hours of Sunday.

Savitha Awadhiya, mother of Aneesh Awadhiya, the man who died in the accident couldn’t hold her composure as she said, "Usne mere bachhe ki jaan le li. Mera bachha mujhse door ho gaya. Ab kabhi nahi mil paaungi main usse (He killed my son. Now, I will never be able to meet my son)."

The teenager, who was driving the car got bail just after 15 hours upon condition that he write an essay on accidents. However, on Wednesday the Juvenile Justice Board modified its order and sent him to a remand home till June 5.

"Ladke ki galti hai, hatya bhi keh sakte hai usko. Kyunki agar usne itni badi galti nahi ki hoti toh aaj kisi ki jaan na jaati. Agar thoda bhi uske ghar waalo ne mana kiya hota ki aisa nahi karte hain toh aaj mere bete ki jaan bachi hoti. Ye seedhe seedhe hatya kehlati hai ("It is the boy's mistake, you can even call it murder because if he had not made such a big mistake, no one would have died. If only his family members had paid attention, then today my son would have been alive. This is straight-up murder," said Ms Awadhiya.

The boy who was driving the Porsche was a 17-year-old teenager who was celebrating his class XII result with alcohol in different bars.

"Kadi se kadi saja milni chahiye. Bahut bachane ki koshish kar rahe hai woh apne bachhe ko. Paise waale hain isiliye sochte hain ki hum apne bachhe ko kahin se bhi bacha ke nikal sakte hain. Lekin mera bachha toh gaya hai na (He should face the strictest punishment. They are trying very hard to save him. They are people with money and think can save their son. But my son died)," she said as she appealed to the Maharashtra Government.

"He Killed My Son": Mother Of Man Run Over By Pune Teen Driving Porsche

She kept her composure for the first few questions. But gave in at the fourth minute and burst into tears. The woman was answering questions about her son, who was killed in the horrific Porsche crash in Pune in the early hours of Sunday.

"Usne mere bachhe ki jaan le li. Mera bachha mujhse door ho gaya. Ab kabhi nahi mil paaungi main usse (He killed my son. Now, I will never be able to meet my son)," said a crying Savitha Awadhiya, mother of Aneesh Awadhiya who died in the accident.

Three days after bail was granted to the Pune teenager upon the condition that he write an essay on accidents, the Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday modified its order and sent him to a remand home till June 5.

The 17-year-old Pune boy, celebrating his Class 12 results, was drinking with his friends hours before the accident, showed a video. CCTV footage from Cosie bar showed happy scenes all around with the table crowded with alcohol bottles.

"He visited us in May on the 3rd. It was my anniversary. So he was visiting us. He left on the 5th," said Ms Awadhiya on her last meeting with her son, adding "woh bahut achha bachha tha, sabko apna bana leta tha (He was a good child. He was nice to everyone)".

"Woh bola mumma aapke liye main gift leke aaya hoon Dubai se. Chocolate aur khajoor. Toh main aaunga aap logon ko dene. Jaldi hi aane wala hoon. Lekin woh ho nahi paya (He told me that he had got gifts for me: chocolates and dates. I will visit you soon. But that was not to be)," she said.

The father of the teenager has been remanded in police custody for two days. The realtor was arrested on Tuesday from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra, where he had allegedly gone to evade the cops.

Bandits resume killing in Plateau communities, over 200 people confirmed dead

For decades, there has been repeated mass and isolated attacks by armed men on farming communities in Plateau. While this has become a tragic trend, it usually escalates during each farming season when all the farmers increase the tempo of agricultural work on their farms. Apart from these attacks against the poor rural farmers, the farming communities are also ravaged by the persistent violent ethno-religious conflicts that routinely break out in the Plateau Metropolis. However, when peace-building efforts by state and non-state actors are able to mitigate violence of any form, the citizens are usually happy and make efforts to guard the resulting fragile peace in the state. But recently, crisis merchants and enemies of the state and its people have resumed their isolated attacks and killings of unarmed citizens who were going about their businesses. This is even as the security agencies appear helpless in apprehending the masterminds before they strike. In the last two weeks, scores of people have been killed in the farming communities of Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, Jos North, and Riyom local government areas, thereby raising fears among the people in the farming communities of the state. From Rawuru community, Tapo (in the Heipang district), Barkin Ladi; Kwi, Kuru Station (Wereng) in Riyom; Murish in Bokkos, and Jwak Maitumbi in Mangu local government area, families are mourning the killing of their loved ones in the night attacks. A resident of Rawuru, Micah, said the last attack occurred around 8.00 p.m. on Saturday and claimed the life of Dachung Luka, who was shot dead at the Rawuru junction. Micah lamented that at about the same time the following day, some armed men in transit shot and killed two people at Kuru Station, and residents also discovered a corpse at the Kwi community on Monday morning. The Heipang incident, in which four young men were killed, took place at about 9.00 p.m., and the deceased was buried on Monday. The ugly developments made the natives raise the alarm that many armed attackers had assembled at Sham, Wereng, Kum, Byei of Riyom LGA, and Farin Lamba and Dabwak (Kuru) in Jos South with the plan of launching an attack on them, and they cautioned their neighbours in Chaha, Rangyel, Kaduna Vom, and Chakarum, to be on the alert. Although the police spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, could not be reached at the time of this report, the spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, OpSH, keeping the peace in the state, Capt. Oya James, said personnel of the OpSH are on the trail of the culprits. However, Rwang Tengwong, the National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Movement, lamented that no fewer than six persons were killed and two others injured on Sunday night during the coordinated attacks by Fulani militias on residents of the Wereng community in the Bachi District of Riyom LGA as well as Tapo village in Heipang District in Barkin Ladi LGA. Tengwong said: “Two persons were killed at Wereng, while four persons were killed at Tapo. The attacks were simultaneously coordinated between the hours of 8.00 and 10.00 p.m. At Wereng, a household was attacked, leaving one person dead and the other ambushed on his way to the Kwi community. At Tapo, nine youths were ambushed on their way home, four were killed and five escaped. “The survivors said the attackers, who spoke Fulfulde, laid an ambush at Tapo forest, sporadically opening gunfire at them when the unsuspecting youths were returning home from Heipang, the district headquarters. Among those killed was a 24-year-old student of Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi campus, named Tapshak Guwus. When Tapo was attacked, distress calls were made to the vigilante, police and Operation Safe Haven, OpSH. The vigilante and police personnel responded by immediately rushing to the scene, but sadly the OpSH outrightly declined to make an appearance until about 8:00 a.m. on Monday with no convincing moral justification for not responding, which is quite unusual given its usual timely responses to such situations previously.” Tengwong added that on Monday, “another dastardly act of ambush was meted out on Rev. Those who long for eternal sleep shall sail their boat with an unlit lantern at the helm across the sea toward the direction of the sunset. She shall pick you up and find your final resting place, buried until the day of unification when every one shall return to the soil.

In the World of Tenebrae, the realm where the Gentle Darkness sleeps, where darkness is eternal. But even in the deepest void, there's a light that will never go out. The Artificial Sun, gifted by the Brilliant Light herself, shall shine the world.

Resting in the Tower of Daybreak, the Artificial Sun shines through the endless night for eternal. No matter where you go, you can see the light that will lead to the center of the world. For those who live close to it, they can enjoy her light like daytime in the others realms. For some, she’ll cast a perpetual twilight. For the furthest, she’ll be no brighter than a full moon.
