So I originally published this post a little bit ago about how important it felt to me that Arin should remain without an element in Dragons Rising, because it would be such an interesting character arc to explore. But I also published that super late at night and it was more a train of thought, not something fully written, but I want to expand on this more.

Arin should not have an element, and here’s why.

(Runtime: 3:29:09) (JK I’ve just been watching hbomberguy vids for the last week)

When we’re first introduced to Arin as a character, he’s shown to be a huge ninja fan. He carried around Lloyd’s mask for God knows how long, too afraid to wash it in fear of damaging it. He wears it as a mask, too, when he tries to be just like the heroes he looks up to (which is a lil’ gross buddy). He propped the ninja up as these great heroes, and his optimism generally bounced nicely off Sora’s more pessimistic view of the world.

Arin grew up with the stories of the ninja, so it makes sense that he would try to emulate his heroes. And when he meets Lloyd, and starts training to be a ninja, well, it’s kinda his dream come true.

Other people have compared Arin’s character to that of a longtime Ninjago Fan IRL, too. He knows the lore, he knows the stories, he knows about the ninja. Sora, on the other hand, is the opposite, and a good representation of the new fans in the audience. She didn’t know these brightly color-coded ninjas existed until the Merge, after she ran away from everything she knew in Imperium, and she’s just trying to survive with her silly bestie Arin.

But then, Sora unlocks her elemental ability over technology—a new elemental ability, unlike anything seen before in Ninjago—and the story really begins.

Throughout the first season, it focuses a lot on Sora’s struggle with mastering her new abilities. At first she thinks it’s something that only their dragon baby Riyu can activate with her, but then starts to think that all her efforts lead to suffering, before finally coming full-circle and accepting them as her own, eventually unlocking her true potential in the climax of the second half of Season 1. BendoBricks on Youtube has a much better breakdown of her character arc, which I’d really recommend, cause I’m not here to focus on her.

No, I want to focus on Arin.

Arin—the long-time Ninjago fan’s self-insert baby boy who I would gladly kill for—is a great character, and despite being the POV character at the beginning of the first season, does fall to the wayside a bit when focus goes onto Sora and her character arc. Which is fine, don’t get me wrong—because Arin falling a bit to the side feels like it’s being done on purpose.

Imagine this. You’re a fan of this group of superheroes in your world, and you spend your days wishing you’d be like them. Or maybe you’d daydream about your parents selling you to these superheroes, or something. And something really bad happens, the world completely changes, and then you’re on your own, and those superheroes vanished.

You make friends in this new world, and you share these stories with your new friends! It’s great. And then one of those heroes comes back, and wants to train you and your friend to be heroes, too, as your friend has a superpower. Doesn’t that sound absolutely amazing!

You’re a prodigy, too—you’ve trained and taught yourself the techniques these heroes used, and they’re all impressed. But your friend has a superpower.

And you don’t.

This is the situation Arin is in. Everyone around him has an elemental ability. Sora, Riyu, Lloyd, Kai, Nya, Zane—everyone he basically associates with daily has this amazing power (or is a cute lil’ dragon). And he doesn’t have anything. Even though he’s taught himself how to use Spinjitzu, and has managed to unlock a technique where he can transfer that spinning energy to an item, he doesn’t technically have an elemental ability. It’s less impressive compared to other characters, especially the ninja, who have known Spinjitzu for like thirteen years. It’s impressive he’s learned it on his own, unlocked the key for it by himself, but in comparison, he doesn’t have a lot to set him apart from the other ninja other than the fact that he doesn’t have an element.

In my opinion, this would be a much more interesting route for them to take his character. Staying without an element.

Of course, it could later be found out that Arin’s a new elemental master of, like, momentum, or something like that, to explain how he picked up Spinjitzu so quickly and can transfer it to objects, but I think that would be the lazy way out.

Arin’s character acts as an amazing foil to Sora through Season 1. He’s a ninja fanboy, she kinda doesn’t care. He’s energetic, optimistic. She’s cautious and a bit pessimistic. Arin later gains oni-like horns on his ninja gi, and Sora is associated heavily with dragons (which I’ve heard is quite a duality in the lore, idk I haven’t seen the later seasons yet).

Sora is an elemental master, and Arin… isn’t.

Bits of a new character arc can be seen through S1 for Arin. In the last few episodes of the series, while Sora masters her element, Arin withdraws a bit from it all. In Episode 10, following the first battle in Imperium, he sits by himself, away from the others, and dejectedly tells Lloyd, “If you have all of them, you don’t need me anymore”, before it cuts to not just Kai, Zane, and Nya; but also, Sora and Riyu. Their conversation was less about Arin’s lack of an elemental ability, and more of Arin’s fear of losing others; they have a similar conversation in episode 20, where Arin laments his object Spinjitzu only being accessible when he’s literally scared to shit and how frustrating it is, and Lloyd comments on how all of the ninja had moments when they were scared, but they acted through the fear.

I feel like both of those scenes happening in the mid-season and season finale happen interestingly. For once, they center Arin by himself; he’s sitting aside by the wall, messing with a shuriken in ep 10, and he’s throwing the shuriken and trying to activate his object Spinjitzu in ep 20; but they both put him on the sidelines, away from others.

(Okay I know in ep 20 Sora is also by herself with her mech, but Arin is still aside, so my point still stands.)

The opportunity of a character like Arin not ever developing an elemental ability like the other ninja feels like something almost too good to waste. Before Nya became the Water Ninja (and when she was actually allowed to be a character and not just The Girl), Nya had interesting moments, such as developing Samurai X as a way to be a part of the team without actually being a ninja.

I think the ideal character arc for Arin would work similarly to Sora’s, but flipped, if that makes sense. Perhaps having him attempt to unlock an elemental ability, running out of luck with everything, and getting frustrated at his lack of worth, despite his skills with Spinjitzu, would be an interesting way to go for his character. Eventually he would learn that he doesn’t need to have a cool elemental ability to be a ninja; he’s just fine as he is. And maybe that can be what’s holding him back from truly developing his object Spinjitzu is that fear that he’s not worthy enough to be a ninja. He turns his lack of elemental power into his strength.

The DR writers have a cool arc they could give him, and I think they ought to go for it. I’m sure more about Arin will be revealed in S2, and he’ll have his character arc then. I just hope that the writers don’t take the easy way out, and give Arin a much more interesting character arc than the same “omg I have an elemental ability I gotta learn” that Ninjago has done multiple times already.

2. How did you decide on your bias?

i actually can't remember exactly it was pretty gradual! And I semi-biased a lot of members before ruby<3 I've been with my boy wonhamjin since before vity :') but as I got into them all the non-pd101 members Rly stood out to me and I jumped around until taeyoung and then he settled as a second bias when ruby decided to take over! With ruby, his vid making puppyz lunchboxes was something that pushed me over the edge definitely nfjd that's still one of my fav vids on the planet :( youngtae is loud enough when u first see him that he caught my attention quickly but since ruby is (generally hdjd) quieter it took a while to get to know and love him. The care he shows the members through cooking or playing with them is the thing that rly captured me

veni vidi vici<3 kinda on principle dhdj that song feels like it's Mine, the confidence in the rock sound and then the Beautiful chromatic movement AH it's gorgeous and makes me rly giddy. also maybe baby ... she's so beautiful she makes me cry

NDNRJEJDJ yes at least like three times a week<3 I am a cry baby ;-; so literally any cute or lovely thing they do can send me over the edge. new music makes me rly emotional so I've cried each first listen of their albums<3 also bawled my eyes out at adrenaline mv And party rock mv coz I love them

I gotta choose my 01 buddy wonjin<3 I think we would get along well tbh I rly love extraverted people<3 and I'm a very easy laugh so he would have fun joking around with me 💕 he's literally Such a good friend to vity I'm always so endeared by it. and the way he asks for help/attention/comfort outright (like when he wants to sleep next to someone) is rly special to me, I rly appreciate that directness. Accio No Laptop Leave

I cleared all my trips for the really sherep Holy Week because I thought my ina could make it plus I need to suck in all good vibes because Tauras szn is coming very, very soon again and again. UGH. This will have one or two posts depending on my mood levels because umaatikabo po ang Taurus szn for the Cancer me. Ayoko siyang abangan pero, let’s get it on this 2023.  If I were a real life Ravenclaw, I would spend this looonnng and winding summer road in Negros + Siquijor. I don’t usually go back to the places I’ve visited because I easily get bored and unbothered, but these two islands make me breathe and fart rainbows. Think Across The Universe because trippy talaga.  Since my boss then was an expat, he approved my no laptop leave. I noticed that European bosses take their leaves very, very seriously on top of the KPIs and costs that are always on “go for the kill” vibe.  My trip here was super epic because I wasn’t expecting anything beyond the basic immersive experience.  First, gwapo ng mga coastguards. HAHAHAHAHAHA. And super helpful because they really waited for us to dash to the last boat to Siquijor from Duma. While running for dear life, I was really pissed because I made sure that I got accurate info that we can leave Duma, dusk time. I wanted my cotton candy skies and a bit of chill kasi. UGH. So, the cutie men in uniform calmed me. CHZ. I can’t help but mag-interact kasi legit cuties and we NEED to buy time. Small talks pa kami ng mga bossing kaya push. Was deeply thinking why walang ganun sa MNL and kung mga anak ba sila ng hacienda and nepotism babies sila na trying to break free from the generational curse and blessing.  Second, since I get really easily afraid, ticking Siquijor even for 24 solid hours lang is a bucket list hit. This tiny island is lakas maka-middle earth pero on steriods, however, it’s also a really unadulterated town. Mababait talaga the locals plus food is fresh, simple and done right. Just the way I like it.  Never mind na may sumitsit sa akin because I had to squeeze in a task because prod peeps had an issue and again, ako lang (sadly) may access. UGH. So, after going around the ghost town since kaka-open lang ng Siquijor that time to tourists, I was the only one burning the midnight oil. May sumitsit sa akin out of nowhere and knocked several times as I was madly downing this deadline. LOL. ‘Yan kasi, no laptop leave daw pero dinala naman kaya, olats. :D I cramped my eye level to the tiny screen of my work laptop. Fuck 13-inch screens kasi. Bakit hindi man lang 15 or 17? Bakit? Sabi kasi nila, when faced with this shit, NO EYE CONTACT is your only key para ‘di ka ma-lock sa middle earth ganaps. Ewan ko ba naman bakit may mga encounters akong ganito at times talaga. ‘Di ko rin naman ma-blame overactive imagination ko kasi legit na persistent ‘yung sutsot at katok sa glass doors and windows. Syempre, tinapos ko ‘yung deadline na ‘to after an hour or so, but my chest is screaming talaga and my hands are shaking slightly pa.  I didn’t wake up my travel buddies kasi pride and baka malingon ko whatever or whoever ‘yung sutsot na susot. LOL. Even the Negros peeps nga mismo warned us about our Siquijor adventure but is it worthwhile? Super! We had Cambugahay Falls all to ourselves. As in kami lang talaga bisita. OWEEEM. Hassle lang ‘yung stairs kasi ang iksi ng legs ko. LOL. Tourism peeps, keep up naman lalo if you want this spot to have good reviews!!! But after the quick and knee-popping lusong, ang gandaaaaaaaaaaa. I judge places based on how they look IRL versus photos and vids na no edit. Saktong-sakto ‘yung flow ng water, blue AF talaga which is my type of blue. And enchanted talaga siya, as in.  The beach na other one was the holding area of COVID peeps kaya we were not able to enter even when we said, we would like to take the risk. HAHAHAHHAHAHA. Fully vaxxed naman na kami with booster shot pa. So, this deserves a round two talaga. Dawn and dusk during our visit is sooooo magical plus the bamboo massage we got is soooooo unique. Tanggal talaga lamig mo. LOL. We also boozed but not much kasi mahaba pa ang trip back to Negros.  We then went back to Negros and met our driver. Super bait nung owner ng service company. As in. The price is quite steep but ok lang because then, 1L of gas is P80 pesos na. :( Before pa ‘to ng hyperinflation ha. But to be able to wing the Negros Loop, we opted to go for a rented car.  Next stop is Lakawon since one of the travel buddies wanted to go back. Ayoko neto pero we had an alignment that we will be choosing 1 each na spot, no questions asked. Off we went to Lakawon and again, we had mostly to ourselves. Super init lang talaga na parang sinundo ka na ni Hades levels. HAHAHAHAHA. Oks naman Lakawon ‘pag walang tao which happened. Staff are super nice and syempre, Red Horse lang naman, happy na ako. Food is average pero oks na rin. Staff thanked us kasi nga super dalang ng tourists. Sulit ba siya? For me, saks lang. Won’t go back anytime soon since I am on a hunt ng mas indie spots. :D  After the Lakawon day trip, rachada na kami to my spot, Danjugan Island!!! I’ve been eyeing this for quite a long time, a few birthdays back but, ‘di natutuloy. Spent 3D/2N there and super duper vibe na vibe ko talagaaaaa. As in.  Met Dave, Sef and Carmela. Super lodicakes sila 3 along with the team. As in. Syempre, nung una, introvert pa ako, pero since they are very welcoming, yosi break na kami ni Dave then poof, pak boom. He designed a custom tour for us which is soooo trippy talaga, literally and figuratively. LOL. Highlights of the custom tour:  -planktons on my feet  -fireflies above my head  -starry, starry night  -open sea at night  -crystals -incantations  -prayers  -rituals  -safe space sharing -palo santo  -boa constrictor meet up, up close  -bat cave  -seahorse  -bird watching  -freediving catch up sesh  -sea glass hunting  -kayak (skipped this because I don’t like this)  -good food  -Agimat Ube Creme  -unli booze  -lutong bahay food  -more lutong bahay food   -yoga  -tarot card reading  -meditation  -a snippet of our return visit :D :D :D  ‘Di ba? Parang Goop EP pero very Filipino, very rooted sa untouched culture natin. What struck me talaga was during this Danjugan trip was the moment I heard mom’s voice saying, kaya mo na. Kaya mo noon pa. And felt her sungit warm hug as a Taurus mother dragon. :D Full force, mhie. I cannot. Dunno if it was the trip, the palo santo, the summer breeze mixed with the chilly air, the ambient lights or the crashing waves. LOL. Very Goop talaga. :D Nonetheless, I dig trips like this. Walang signal. Walang ice. Walang noise pollution. Walang distractions. And grounds you on prod levels na on steroids pa. LELS.  We headed back to Duma for a city tour and visited Pinspired, a hub for creators of the island and nearby places. Ganda ng Starbucks dito because suko na talaga ako sa Sbucks ages ago, pero ganda niyaaaa. Food was good. People are great and the vibe is poppin’ talaga. It’s sleepy city but it is bustling, too. Gah. I didn’t finish Hometown Chacha kasi napaka strong-turned-super-weak ng female lead pero it reminds me of its locations.  So, if I could Accio Negros x Siquijor, here’s my list:  -3 days in Siquijor and bike around the island  -find a ritual for cleansing past hurts  -unli booze all day and night  -4 days in Danjugan + Punta Bulata: bike and freedive and hike + trippy trip, meditation and visit Dave’s sanctuary  -Ultimate food trip in local spots na sa Google plus ancestral hacienda visits -Will try to visit a travel buddy’s azucarera for immersion. Tignan ko power dynamics ng mga feudal lords and ladies which is really, really interesting  -cooking class and shop for ingredients I can bring back to Manila  -Sugar Beach booze na sana may jam sesh ng 90s and early 2000s PL  -Freedive more pa around Duma and the other spots na ipagtatanong ko pa sa locals there  -Heirloom vintage shopping: baka may vinyls or whatever na puwede ko icurate  -Pinspired major haul pero sila na mag-deliver para mas mura :D  -syempre rented car na may bike rack po tayo na puwede folding bike + LF biking buddy  -rent folding bike because ‘di pa rin ako marunong mag-scooter (sa Siargao na ‘to)  -5x darker skin, 3x lighter hair -road to babaylan na ba talaga ito, mhie :D  -meet local creators/artists and if may event, sama meeee as a people watcher (Gahhh. Pinspired team invited me nga a few months back pero nasa fucking MNL ako that time.) -ink sesh because seesh this place talaga  This holy week break is long but I need a really long break before the storm x Taurus szn talaga. I still have pa-siyam and 40th day ng ina ko so abala po tayo for the next weeks na naman. UGH. Traditions get in the way of this tita’s travels. Still torn if I’ll stay in Manila and bike around na lang or hatawin ang chances of not being hassle sa daan, dagat at himpapawid --my pet peeve when I am traveling. Most likely, Manila will be sleepy ulit dahil sabik sa sabak travels ang mga peeps.  It’s Tuesday na. A few days before weekend. I am an autopilot mode na talaga pero parang working naman so far. ‘Di pa ubos pake ko kahit ubos na ako. LOL. My dad’s birthday is coming, too. Need to up my adrenaline para naman happy siya. Wawa e. LOL. Back to regular programming muna tayo para sa ekonomiya. Nakakalumpo ‘yung list ko ng stuff to do when I go back e. :D Punta Bulata x Miles, baka naman. Solo ba or non-solo comeback trip ko? Let’s see mga mhieses. LELS. Oks ang solo, default ko ‘yan e pero curious how it’ll go if non-solo or as my travel buddies budol me, semi-solo. ;)

Grayson did more for you and your baby in 10 months than your ex didn’t in 8 long, dreadful years. Of course, the two of you did share some joyous memories – some even etched into your brain for many years to come. But those few memories would never be enough to override the haunting recollections of the relationship. What a shit show. You have no idea why you stuck around for so long.

“So where’d you wanna head first?” Grayson asks as he buckles his seat belt in, getting ready to drive to your desired destination.

“‘DONAWS!” your son screeches from the back seat.

Both you and Grayson chuckle in unison at the overly excited boy.

“Mcdonalds?” you raise a brow in surprise. “Don't you wanna go to a toy store first?”

Your son nods his head vigorously, kicking his feet excitedly into the back of your seat. Usually, this would irritate you but for this time, and this time only, you let it slide. It was his birthday, after all. 

Again, you chuckle. “Which one is it then, little man? ‘Donalds or Toys?” 

The boy pauses to debate the choices in his head. His brows furrowed in concentration as he began to stutter in a panic as if his life depended on him giving the correct answer.

“I- I- I dunno. I don’t weally wike pickin–”

Before the poor boy could get himself in too much of a predicament, Grayson steps in. 

“How about–” Gray twists in his seat to face your son. “How about we do both? At the same time! How awesome would that be, huh?!”

“Gray– you can’t take food into a toy store–”

“NUGGIES!”

Grayson looks at you with a smirk. 

“If that’s what the birthday boy wants, then that’s what he’ll get.”

“Where do you want to look first?” you ask as you and your son walk into the gigantic toy store, hand in hand. “Dinos? Teddys? Oh- what about the Nerf guns? There are so many cool ones to choose from–”

Even with all of the options you stated, your little boy only had his mind set on one thing. 

“Mommy, where’s Daddy?” he questions with furrowed brows, looking behind him in search of him.

You halt in position and scrunch your brows together in confusion.

“Daddy didn’t come with us today, baby.” you remind him, gently tugging his hand to keep him moving so the two of you don't hold up other customers.

“Yeah, he is! He dwiveded us here!” the boy explains in frustration, continuing to look back at the entrance in case “daddy” walked in.

Sighing, you kneel down to come face-to-face with your son. With care, you hold his face between your hands to keep his attention locked on you.

“Do you think the man that drove us here is your daddy?”

The boy nods hesitantly, watching your facial features drop as your heart plummets inside your chest. You had no idea how you were going to break the truth to him. 

“What’s wrong, Mommy? You look sad.” your son mirrors your actions by holding your face in his tiny hands. This causes your heart to melt in adoration. 

“Uh–” A lump forms in your throat causing it to tighten in discomfort, making your voice unsteady. “Gray– he’s not your Da–”

“DADDY!” Within seconds, the young boy is leaping into Grayson’s open arms, humongous grins plastered on both boys' faces. 

You couldn’t help but mirror their expressions; a smile creeping its way onto your face, spreading from one ear to the other. 

“Did you get da nuggies?” Your son whispers loudly into Gray’s ear with a mischievous grin.

“Sure did, buddy!” 

Gray holds the brown paper bag in the air, above his head, mimicking the famous scene from the lion king and sending your little boy into a fit of giggles. 

Noticing curious staff members nearby, Grayson shoves the brown paper bag into his hoodie pocket, making sure to leave enough space to be able to reach his hand in to grab a nugget when instructed to. 

The three of you begin to walk through the great toy store, searching for the perfect toy for your little boy. 

You scan the shelves thoroughly, looking from top to bottom, left to right, in a calm, relaxed manner when suddenly the perfect toy pops right into view.

You turn your head in search of your son to see him and Gray whispering. Shortly after, Gray pulls a golden nugget out from his pocket and passes it to the small boy beside him, followed by placing a finger over his lips and shushing. Your son nods and giggles in excitement before cramming it into his mouth as he looks around to check no one was plotting to confiscate his mouth-watering lunch.

“So yummy,” the little boy exclaims as he scoffs more food into his mouth. “Daddy want some?” 

“No, I – huh?” Grayson’s pace comes to a stop. He looks down at the small boy with furrowed brows. “What was that?”

“You heard him right,” you confirm with a sigh. “He thinks you’re his daddy. I’m so sorry Gray, i tried to tell him but he’s convinced you are and–”

“He is!” the little boy demands, grabbing hold of Grayson's hand. “You are my daddy, aren't you?”

The look on Gray's face spoke a thousand words. He looked as if he was about to cry.

“Is that what you truly want?” he asks softly, kneeling to his height. 

Your son nods eagerly before throwing himself into Grayson's body. “You’re my daddy.”

That lump in your throat had come back as tears threatened to spill from your glassy eyes. You were managing to keep them at bay until you look at Grayson. 

Shamelessly, Gray’s face was drenched in tears as he silently held back sobs. He sniffles and wipes his face dry with the back of his hand before pulling away from your little boy. He didn’t want him to think he was sad. 

“Did I make you sad?” the little boy asks in worry, noticing how puffy Grayson’s eyes had become. “My eyes do dat when I get sad too. It’s okay to cry, Daddy. Mama cries all the time when –”

“And that's enough of that –” you cut him off, putting your hand on his shoulder. “Go and pick out a toy before all the good toys go.”

“Otay!” Your son waddles off down the aisle, looking all over the place for the perfect birthday toy. 

You turn to Grayson to see him standing with his arms folded across his chest and his brows raised.

“You have some explaining to do.”

After toy shopping, Grayson takes you all back to his to have a little nap. After putting your son down to sleep in Grayson's bed, you walk down the hallway to hear the twins conversing.

“Dude, you should have been there! He was all like “you’re my dad, right?” and then he practically tackled me and cuddled the fuck out of me. It was the cutest shit ever, i can't even –”

“Bro, you’re gushing – chill! You really love the little guy, huh?” Ethan queries with a little chuckle.

“I love them both” he corrects. 

“And we love you too.”

Karl had mentioned in MrBeast’s new video they were going to go to a dog shelter, and excitedly asked if you wanted to join behind the scenes. You accepted, of course, as you would get to spend time with your boyfriend and see what he does- and see cute dogs! win-win situation. 

As soon as you guys arrived, the shelter workers started showing you guys to the dogs before they started filming, and so they could set up the equipment. 

“Y/n- look at how cute they aree” You had to admit, they were so cute. “They’re adorable- hey buddy aww”

The dogs had captured your heart, you were so excited for them to get adopted, and the boys were too. You were glad they were doing this for people, the dogs deserved a good home. Karl had picked up a small, black puppy, that went by Foxtrot, and he was an absolute cutie. (Karl & Foxtrot obviously are both the cuties) He carried him like a baby, and you felt your heart melt. 

As the boys started filming, you made sure to take many photos of Karl and the dogs. Even throughout the day you found you had taken a liking to Foxtrot- he was just so cute.

As the first two days went by, you watched the families come and go with their new dogs, saying goodbye to the dogs. Although you had felt a bit guilty, each time knowing Foxtrot was still available for adoption. And although Karl did not say it, you can tell he loved Foxtrot and that he still available and was still able to hold and cuddle him. After filming you had often caught Karl hanging out by Foxtrot’s kennel with this dopey little smile.

On a whim, you decided to go to the front desk, making sure Karl was busy with filming, and asked for some adoption papers. You wanted to surprise Karl, you knew the two of you had gotten attached and it would have been so difficult to see Foxtrot go. Seeing Maddy taking a like to Pinky and wanting to adopt Pinky also pushed you slightly to do it. 

 Luckily, you and Karl were approved, and you waited anxiously for when the adoption worker would say the “family” for Foxtrot is here. 

“Okay- the family for Foxtrot is about to arrive and I want both you, Karl, and Chandler to go” “Both of us? Ok”

You quickly slip through the door and sit in the spot, holding your guys’ new puppy, nervously waiting for Karl to enter.

“Y/n? What are you doing in here?” “Surprise! We are the new parents of Foxtrot! I wanted to surprise you” “Wait- are you joking?” “Nope! I filled out the papers earlier- I knew we both loved the little guy at first sight.”

You handed Karl Foxtrot, who was very excited and started wagging his tail and licking Karl. Karl almost wanted to cry, he was so happy.

You were kinda glad this was caught on camera, so you could back and rewatch it in the future. Karl quickly put Foxtrot down, engulfing you in a tight hug, muttering thank you repeatedly over and over. You were elated- Foxtrot was going to be your guys’ “first son” and you loved being able to make Karl smile. 

After getting all the necessary supplies for Foxtrot, you guys drove home. As you set up an area of the living room for Foxtrot, karl was running around and playing with Foxtrot, doing tug of war with toys and chasing him. 

“Hey Karl- it’s set up, I’m going to go take a shower first” “okay!”

After taking your shower and getting dressed, you walked out to tell Karl that he could shower. However, you had stopped short in your tracks. On the couch, was Karl laying down on his back, Foxtrot on his chest, sleeping soundly.

They must be so tired.

Quickly, you pull out your phone to take yet another photo, this one for sure your lockscreen. You reluctantly nudge Karl awake, picking up foxtrot and putting him in the crate for the night. He was only a small puppy so he needed training.

“Hm?” “Karl love, you need to go shower and go to bed.” “Oh yea- I accidentally fell asleep.”

As you waited for Karl, you started to search for some sweaters and dog accessories the two of you might need.

there was a woman with h/c hair swaying to the tune and a beautiful little girl curled up in her arms while sitting on her hip
