Strawberry Shortcake Berry Bitty Adventures!
Several years ago I decided I wanted to make a pretty drawing for each episode in season 1, but I only got to episode 3. That’s okay, it’ll just be an on going project. Finally here’s one for episode 4!

So one thing that's always interested me is the Berrykins. Apparently they have a monarchy and serve under a princess... even though we never see any kingdom or even a castle. They host events and celebrations for this monarchy, which means it's still around and thriving. And all the Berrykins do is endless manual labor for the princess.
"Pick 'till the work is done."
I just think having a monarchy is strange since the princess really doesn't do much, and the show is set in more of a modern day era.
I dunno. Those are just my thoughts.
Heh, yeah, and it might just come down to “girls show have princess” and princess means just about anything in this context. After all they hold an election to be princess in episode 11.
Princess Berrykin really seems to be more of a manager than anything, managing the Berry Works, and various events (as strawberry had to do in the Berryfest Princess trilogy) and I dunno maybe she’s even caring for the babies.
As a side note, I’m guessing Princess Berrykin wasn’t specifically elected (since Post Master Bumblebee said they were holding an election for the first time) and was born into her role/maybe she’s just always existed. I feel like it’s slightly implied that she’s super old and couple times.
(Also there is a “Queen of Berryvania” or whatever and I have no clue what that implies, but also we can just pretend season 4 doesn’t exist lol)

Baby Berrykin (Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures) as Baby tooth (Spongebob Squarepants)

Where would you recommend starting with Strawberry Shortcake? I adore MLP and Carebears, and I had some of the Strawberry Shortcake toys as a kid. It seems like something I would really like but I’ve never seen any of it. Which show should I start with?
Well, it really depends. Each version is pretty different, and hits a different (though similar) demographic.
The original 1980s specials are probably the easiest to get into, if only because there are only 6 of them and they're all on youtube. These are the ones that every other version is based on, though every version takes the characters in its own direction, so it's not necessary to watch them before watching the other series.
If you want to see actual kids doing actual kid things while living in a world of candy, and you like lots of songs and loads of characters, then the 2003 series is probably for you. The pacing of the plots is a little slower, especially in the first 4 specials, so depending on what you like, it might feel like a bit of a slog, or it might be a relaxing watch.
If you prefer a closer-knit cast and fewer songs, with zippier plots, and CG animation, then Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures is the one you should go with, especially if you happen to like voice actors from the Ocean Group (a lot of the voice actors also worked on Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, among other things, and a few are on the latest SSC reboot).
If you like episodes that are short and sweet, but with a heavy dose of comedy, then you'll want Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. You mentioned liking My Little Pony, and if you mostly mean Friendship is Magic, then you'll be happy to hear that the person in charge of this series also worked on that show, including writing the movie, and it has occasional songs by Daniel Ingram, also of FIM fame. Plus, it's currently on-going, so there's new episodes every week, though each episode is only 4 minutes long.
As my Summer of SSC rewatch project has shown, there are good things and bad things about each different version. Each version is its own continuity, so start with whichever version appeals to you most.
As for where to start watching, the 1980s specials in order are The World of Strawberry Shortcake, Strawberry Shortcake in Big Apple City, Pets on Parade, Housewarming Surprise, Strawberry Shortcake and the Baby Without a Name, and Strawberry Shortcake Meets the Berrykins. As I mentioned before, you can find them all on youtube, but as only the first two had DVD releases, most of them are iffy quality.
Seasons 1, 3, and 4 of the 2003 series are available on TubiTV, but Peacock has all 4 seasons, plus The Sweet Dreams Movie (which takes place mid-way through season 3) available on the free-tier, but you do have to make an account.
Peacock also has the pilot for Berry Bitty Adventures, as well as The Sky's The Limit movie (the proper start of the reboot), and the whole series. TubiTV has all four seasons of BBA, except for one episode of season three that is inexplicably missing.
The first season of the latest reboot, Berry in the Big City, is available on Netflix, and season two drops later this month. But all the episodes of season one, the currently aired episodes of season two, and a handful of bonus material videos are all available on the official youtube channel. If you can, I recommend watching the episodes on Netflix for two reasons: 1. a number of episodes were uploaded out of order on the youtube channel for various reasons; 2. the Netflix episodes have an opening theme and end credits. But do check out the bonus material on the youtube channel. There's some fun stuff there.
Hopefully that answers your question, and good luck in checking out the many different versions of Strawberry Shortcake!

my old Strawberry Shortcake conspiracy theory creepypasta
cringe reminder:I wrote this 3 years ago
Strawberry Shortcake was born in 1978 Her Parents loved her when they lived on earth a Nuclear Cyclone killed her Parents when she was 4 but luckily she survived however the result of the radiation made her remain in her Child height even when she grew up she would still sound and act like a 6 year old so she and other child survivors who had forgotten their old names renamed themselves after their favorite food and because of the nuclear radiation
Those foods grew to the size of houses so they took their old house’s items and turned the food into houses and shops however because of this the Alternate earth this took place in. Because the characters were radiation they disappeared into A alternate dimension so they made their food houses and since strawberry shortcake was the leader despite being young They called they’re new dimension the world of strawberry shortcake so after reading their parents old books they all learned how to do adult things like cooking cleaning and driving.
So the rest of the dimension was filled with food themed places everybody loved strawberry shortcake and her friends except evil grape and his niece they didn't like the idea of being ruled by 6 year olds so he always tried to stop strawberry but never did so Currently he collects pictures of strawberry and drinks his sorrows away.
In 1986 Strawberry was supposed to be 13 but because of the radiation she still couldn't grow but all her friends were getting older and she missed her parents so she tried living with the berrykin princess but she was too busy during the 90s she took a holiday to Brazil and met a lot of international characters from her dimension
Later her old friends moved away to the other side of their dimension known as Strawberry land which is close to dinosaur world so Strawberry while in Brazil got a new house which now belongs to her Australian and Mexican friend so when she sees her old friends she doesn't recognize them
Until 2002 where after baby needs a name was adopted after huckleberry pie’s twin brother died in a skateboard accident strawberry thought she can’t make her own life happy she’ll try to help others so she adopted huckleberry pie’s twin’s sister Apple dumpling .In 2003 they moved to strawberry land where they matured a bit but they still sounded and looked like 6 year olds.
Until 2007 where they officially became teenagers and strawberry went to a ranch and met some of her current friends. Now she wears her old dress but in small way dyed her hair hot pink and revisited they’re old dimension and renamed it berry bity city and the berrykin princess was secretly turned into a berrykin and strawberry’s cat custard lost her voice and she can’t express her emotions anymore and pupcake turned green.
Some of her old friends moved to berry bitty city to work but still lived in their old houses Blueberry tied her hair blue Raspberry got a feminine side and opened a boutique Orange blossom Curled her hair Lemon Meringue became a beauty stylist Plum Pudding recovered from her Clumsiness and opened a Dance studio and learned about different kinds of dancing Strawberry’s 1st house is now owned by baby needs a name and her mom Strawberry’s Strawberry land house Is now owned by Apple Dumpling and her girlfriend Cherry Cuddlier Plum Pudding Now lives in her Dance Studio Strawberry Shortcake if she wasn’t radiated would be 40 (43) now

Summer of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Bitty Adventures Season Three, episodes 4 - 6
I remembered this arc as being my favorite from this season, but rewatching the episodes now, I think it's more accurate to say that episodes 4 and 5 are my favorites, since 6 is almost entirely devoted to telling the tale of The Littlest Berrykin, while the other two are more about the shenanigans involved with attempting to put on the other two productions. The story of The Littlest Berrykin is fine, but the foibles everyone gets into in the first two episodes make for a more compelling plot.
Plum episodes are always fun, because she tends to take things over the top, as is the case with her attempts to outdo the Berry Big City production of Snowberry and the Seven Berrykins by adding, among other things, a tidal wave to take out the evil queen. And the overacting from most of the cast leads to some amusing scenes. This is the standout episode of this arc, imo.
Despite his bad acting, Huck stole the show in the second episode, and his multiple attempts at Prince Berry Charming's first line is the best scene, hands down. Yet another episode that proves why this version is my favorite version of Huck. He's such a hapless character, but he's so game about whatever he's been asked to do that you can't help liking him.
One thing I didn't notice until this rewatch was that in the first episode you do actually hear Blueberry telling part of The Little Berrykins to the baby berrykins (the part with the troll toll), and that gives us a bit of an idea of how Blueberry and Huck adapted it for the stage. In the part we hear, only one princess was at the toll being rude to the troll, but in the play two were there, which means they probably streamlined the action, combining the two rude princess encounters with the troll into one (and so on for all the obstacles they came across on their quest).
Now, if Berry in the Big City would just have an episode about putting on their version of Cinderella, we could complete the SSC-Cinderella trifecta.

Princess Berrykin: It's similar to Berrykin Bloom's description of the creature he saw slinking through the Berryworks. Baby Berrykin: You saw the Slinker?! Berrykin Bruce: I thought we agreed there was no slinker and that we weren't going to call it "the slinker." Princess Berrykin: Yes, we did. But now it's undeniable the creature exists and that Baby Berrykin's name stuck. Baby Berrykin: Yes!

Summer of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Bitty Adventures Season Two, episodes 4 - 6
Even though these episodes are important, plotwise, I don't really have a lot to say about them. These three episodes center around Cherry Jam's vacation in Berry Bitty City, which ends with her deciding to stay, as if that was ever in doubt. Still, there's fun stuff in all three episodes, including all kinds of new fashion, of course. And the last episode introduces Mavis Maraschino, who would continue to be a reoccurring character, despite being sent back to Berry Big City rather unceremoniously.
What I really want to talk about is the cut scenes in the scripts. A Star is Fashioned has the most cuts, including a scene where the other girls try to fix up Plum's ripped dress, leaving her with a patchwork design that Mavis later mistakes for a big-name fashion designer's work, Mavis disparaging one of Raspberry's old designs which Blueberry angrily points out was made for her (this is the real reason Mavis needed a manicure so badly), and the scene were Berrykin Becky finally tells Berrykin Bruce the truth about the "missing package."
Practice Makes Perfect included a longer title for the book Blueberry gave Cherry: "Who Swiped the Cheese? or The Mystery of the Missing Mozzerella," and another thing Berrykin Bloom's poor playing ruined: Blueberry teaching the baby berrykins their ABCs, with C being for Cherry Jam, their new friend. And Top Talent showed Blueberry's attempts at rehearsing her play, with Orange coming in to help her corral the baby berrykins.

Summer of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Bitty Adventures episodes 1-4
While the later seasons are more tightly arced, most of season one is made up of stand alone episodes, probably because it was made before the series had a home (all four seasons would eventually air on The Hub). Because of this, I'm sticking to the airing order, even though I'm fairly certain that a couple of episodes are out of order. Just because there aren't as many story arcs doesn't mean there isn't any continuity, but since I haven't watched most of these episodes since they first aired, I can't be entirely sure which episodes are in the wrong place. I'll point out any incongruities as I notice them.
Even though these are stand alone episodes, you can tell that Fish Out of Water is meant to be the first one, if only because it features a handful of Berrykins speaking in rhyme, something that got phased out (as far as I remember) later on, except for Berrykin Bloom, and possibly Princess Berrykin (she speaks in rhyme in these four episodes, but I feel like she stopped doing that after a while. Maybe she just stopped appearing as much). Strawberry is also treated as more of a community leader here, with the girls and Princess Berrykin going to her with their complaints, rather than the girl they actually have a problem with.
While all of these episodes were enjoyable, I think I liked the third, Vanishing Violets the best, just because it had the most different story beats. The other three mostly followed the "here's our problem of the episode, here are the ways it continues to be a problem, and now here's the solution" narrative in a straightforward way -- Fish Out of Water: Orange adopts a fish as a pet that turns out to be a frog, the frog causes trouble for everyone in Berry Bitty City, Orange takes responsibility for the trouble, but ultimately realizes (like Strawberry had been saying all along) that she has to return the frog to the wild; Babysitter Blues: Strawberry agrees to babysit a baby berrykin who can change the colors of things and does so at every opportunity because he's too young to realize the trouble he's causing, he causes trouble in Berry Bitty City until Strawberry can make him understand the trouble he's causing, and then there's a denouement where she teaches him that changing colors is okay as long as he asks permission first; A Stitch in Time switches things up by having a B Plot about Strawberry's failed attempts to see a falling star (so she can write about it for a poetry reading), but the A plot follows the formula: Plum, Orange, Lemon, and Blueberry pretend to be "fashion elves" to help Raspberry make a dress, but Raspberry starts making "suggestions" for the "elves" and the girls start to feel the strain of sneakily sewing all night, until they finally agree on a design, but then Raspberry reveals that she really wants to make the dress herself, and her friends come clean.
Vanishing Violets technically follows this formula, too, but in a way that makes it feel different from the other three. The violets Lemon Meringue plans to enter in the big flower show start disappearing, and Berrykin Bloom seems to be the most likely suspect, until his flowers start to disappear, too. (You can tell this is an early ep because the girls call him Mr. Bloom, and I'm pretty sure later on everyone just calls him Berrykin Bloom.) Despite feeling contrite for suspecting Berrykin Bloom, Lemon continues to leap to conclusions, until she chews out Mr. Longface Caterpillar without warrant. Since everyone's flowers have been disappearing, the girls camp out to catch the thief, and after some hijinks, they discover the thief is moving underground. A spelunking expedition reveals the culprit is a hungry gopher, and Lemon sacrifices the last of her violets to lead him away from Berry Bitty City so that the flower festival can go on. She ends up winning first place anyway, since Strawberry got a good picture of her flowers and submitted those in her place (her sacrifice probably helped, though).
So yeah, the trouble continues to be trouble, but they tackle it in different ways over the episode, and that's why Vanishing Violets is the best of this batch. But overall, this was a good batch to start off the series.
No notes from the script this time around, though not because there aren't any. The same site where I found the SSC03 scripts also has scripts for the first two seasons of BBA, but unlike the SSC03 scripts, these are more like actual scripts, so I'm going to go through them more carefully, rather than just skimming for interesting stage directions. If there's anything worth noting, I'll make a separate post for a bunch of them (maybe splitting season one into two parts).
Also unlike SSC03, there are synopses for each episode that includes who the main character of the episode is, what their physical goal is, what their emotional goal is, and what the overall theme for the episode is. For example:

Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Big Help
Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Big Help
It’s time for everyone to help out as best they can in these three delightful Strawberry Shortcake episodes. It’s Strawberry to the rescue in “Babysitter Blues” when the princess asks her to look after a very special Baby Berrykin. Orange and Lemon take on the role of Fashion Elves” in “A Stitch of Time” to help Raspberry with her fashion design dreams. And there’s no place like home when Orange…
