I have been made aware by my father (the original Hurdy Gurdy expert in my family) that generally, people name their Hurdy Gurdys. This name is pretty much always feminine, similar to boat rules.
I feel like I’m naming my child. There is so much pressure. I am going to visit so many baby naming websites.

a cat needs no name as a conversation between two cats can be held with no names of participants and with relation descriptors (my child, my partner, my parent, my littermate) but as locations are filled with more distantly related cats the descriptors became a little wordy- my parents littermates partners littermates ex partner- "who?" oh you know — The Tabby Tom
and that takes the place of what we think of as names, descriptors of appearance or notable things theyve done or what "job" they typically do
these names are descriptive and can change but don't do so quickly or without reason, no one gets to pick this name and it's incidentally assigned to them by public opinion (see Lakebreaker becoming Mama Duck and her opinions on that)
this is the second name that a cat typically has. the only other time they have to be differentiated is at birth, as most cats are born in litters with more than one caretaker who need to communicate regarding the kitten. this is their baby name picked by the parent or caretaker and not shared with anyone besides those immediately involved in taking care of the kitten
baby names are not known by most but as they are only used by those close to you, typically a cat will share their baby name as an adult only with their partner for a term of endearment, though your child calling you your babyname is not normal, or borderline disrespectful.
Baby names are usually simple or monosyllabic: Leaf, Rain, Deer, Puff, little orange,
Given names are jokes, phrases, simple, stories, or physical descriptors: Old Tally Tom, Lakebreaker, Earpiece, Bite, Halftail, Hawkrider, Acorn (because she fell out of a tree,) Yowler, Sevensneeze (will always sneeze seven times in a row)

Baby Forsyth #3 Info
Joy has confirmed the baby will have James as either the first or middle name. This is in tribute to Austin's Grandfather, Edwin James Forsyth, who died a couple of years ago. The promised him their next boy would have James in his name.
I hope they don't use it as the first name because it will get a bit confusing.

5 Essential Features of a Baby Names Finder
Choosing the perfect name for your baby is one of the most exciting parts of becoming a parent. It’s a decision that holds great significance, as a baby’s name carries meaning, tradition, and identity. But with thousands of names to choose from, the process can be overwhelming. That’s where a baby names finder comes in handy. Whether you’re looking for traditional names, modern alternatives, or something unique, a baby names finder tool can streamline your search and help you find the right name with ease.
In this blog post, we’ll explore the five most important features of a baby names finder that will simplify the name selection process and ensure you make an informed choice. From customizable filters to name meanings, these features are must-haves for every parent seeking the perfect name.
Customizable Filters for Personalized Results
One of the standout features of a good baby names finder is its ability to provide personalized search results. Customizable filters allow you to narrow down your options based on various criteria that matter to you. These filters typically include:
Gender: If you know whether you're having a boy or a girl, filtering names by gender is essential. Many finders also offer gender-neutral options for parents looking for unisex names.
Origin and Culture: If you want a name that reflects your family’s heritage or a particular culture, this filter is beneficial. You can search for names of specific origins, such as Irish, Arabic, Japanese, or African, among many others.
Name Length: Some parents prefer short, one-syllable names, while others lean toward longer, more intricate ones. A name length filter ensures you only see names that match your preferences.
Popularity: Some parents want a classic, well-known name, while others seek something more unique. A popularity filter allows you to choose names based on their ranking—whether they are trending or rare.
Having these filtering options makes it easier to tailor your search to the specific type of name you have in mind, saving you time and effort.
Name Meanings and Origins
Understanding the meaning and origin of a name can add depth and significance to your choice. A quality baby names finder will provide detailed information about each name’s background, including its etymology, cultural history, and symbolic meanings.
For instance, the name "Sophia" comes from the Greek word for "wisdom," while "Liam" is of Irish origin and means "strong-willed warrior." Knowing the meaning of a name can make your decision more intentional and meaningful, especially if you’re seeking a name that reflects certain qualities or values you hope to impart to your child.
Additionally, names with historical or literary significance may have added appeal. For example, names like "Eleanor" or "Atticus" carry literary solid and historical associations that many parents find attractive.
Name Suggestions Based on Similar Names
Another valuable feature of a baby names finder is the suggestion of similar names. If you like a particular name but aren’t sure it’s the one, the tool should recommend other names that share similar sounds, origins, or meanings. This is particularly helpful for parents who are still exploring different options but have a general idea of what they like.
For example, if you like the name "Aiden," a baby names finder might suggest similar names like "Jayden," "Kaiden," or "Zayden," which could broaden your options while maintaining a particular style or sound.
This feature is also helpful in discovering names you may not have considered, which can spark new inspiration and lead you to the perfect choice.
Interactive Features for Saving and Sharing Favorites
Modern baby names finders are not just about generating name lists; they also offer interactive features that enhance the overall experience. One such feature is the ability to save and share your favorite names.
When you come across a name that resonates with you, being able to save it to a favorites list helps keep your top choices organized. You can revisit the list later and compare names side by side to see which ones truly stand out. Additionally, the ability to share this list with your partner, family, or friends makes the decision-making process more collaborative.
Some apps and websites even allow you to create polls where others can vote on their favorite names from your list. This adds a fun, interactive element to the name selection and makes it easier to get feedback from loved ones.
Access to Name Trends and Statistics
A baby names finder that includes access to name trends and statistics can be a game-changer. This feature allows you to track how a particular name has fluctuated in popularity over time, giving you insight into whether the name is on the rise, declining, or remaining steady in usage.
Many parents use this feature to avoid overly trendy names that may become dated in a few years. Conversely, some prefer names that are currently popular and timeless, like "Olivia" or "Noah."
Knowing the current trends and statistics can also help you choose a name that’s unique without being too obscure, striking a balance between traditional and contemporary.
Bonus Feature: Integrated Baby Tracking Apps
An added benefit of using some baby names finders is their integration with broader baby tracking apps. These apps not only help with choosing names but also offer features like pregnancy tracking, feeding schedules, and developmental milestones, making them a one-stop resource for expectant parents.
If you're considering the best baby tracking app, one that includes a baby names finder feature can be a smart choice. This feature allows you to manage multiple aspects of your parenting journey in one place. The convenience and functionality of these integrated apps simplify the early stages of parenthood while providing valuable insights.
Conclusion
Choosing a baby name doesn’t have to be an overwhelming task. With the right baby names finder, the process can be fun, organized, and stress-free. By utilizing customizable filters, exploring name meanings and origins, getting suggestions for similar names, saving your favorites, and tracking name trends, you can confidently find the perfect name for your little one.
Incorporating these features ensures that your chosen name holds personal significance, whether it reflects your family’s culture, carries a special meaning, or simply sounds beautiful to you. Please make use of these tools, and the perfect name will soon reveal itself!
For parents looking to streamline the process, consider using a baby names finder tool that integrates with the best baby tracking app. This not only helps with name selection but also offers comprehensive support for your parenting journey.

The incredibly cool name "Hilding" has been coming back into fashion (in a small way) in Sweden. I support this. The name means "Son of battle", but mainly it just sounds epic as fuck.
