A couple of people have been mentioning Jake from B99 sometimes when I've talked about how Leo is able to predict his families actions to a near perfect degree (in contrast to his family who can't predict him to a near humorous degree) so I kind of make a little edit of another scene of Jake predicting others actions

If brooklyn 99 and psych had a crossover, Shawn and Jake would start out super competitive because they love solving shit and have big little man egos. But one-upping each other would be too much fun and they'd low-key enjoy each other's quips and maybe even make a few of the same references. And they won't end the day as besties because they both already have two men of culture for best friends (who would in fact bond on occassion, Charles would be impressed with Shawn but he'd try to suppress it because he is loyal to Jake, Gus is going to be super done with both of them!!) As would Henry but he'd appreciate that Jake does actual police work. Amy and Jules are gonna act embarrassed but they'd be competing on the down-low too. Lassy would want to impress Holt who might just chill with Karen, can't predict how Holt eould feel about the whole psychic stuff (my man is so unpredictable, also can't recall if there was a psychic episode on b99) Gus is going to be attracted to Rosa, more so when she rejects him, I feel like Gus, Terry and Holt might have some kind of a moment (because Psych was kinda like that) Terry and McNab are just going to remain wholesome and Gina will... well she'll be Gina to everyone. But we might see her chillin with Woody, just have some out of box conversation about a shady past idk. Pimento's a friend of Woody's don't ask why. Hitchcock and Scully have received an extensive list of eateries from Shawn and Gus and they are out exploring Santa Barbara.

Anyway, Jake and Shawn are going to part ways as competitors who kinda like each other but still say they're better than the other one.

svt as brooklyn 99 characters

tags: b99 au, i am obsessed, i’ve been rewatching this series for the 600th time now, only 80% accurate, i stretched it a little bit

thank you to alice (koogyv on twt) for the amazing thread that i highly interacted with as inspiration. there are many similarities. i expanded upon it more.

this is my take: 

det. jake peralta 

hoshi 

“i wasn’t hurt that badly. the doctor said all my bleeding was internal. that’s where the blood’s supposed to be!” 

arguably, this is the best pairing made. he’s silly, hard-working, creative, and most of all -- he’s gunsta think about the turtles. even as a jokes-first seriousness-second type of person, jake is a thoughtful and caring person who would put himself down to save others. he’s sharp, perceptive, and great at deduction, but often discredits himself with his great delusion, playfulness, and childish nature. he’s a trendsetter and loves to joke around, and when he has a great thought, he’s going to put it into action. (“yeah, that’s right. i’m about to monologue, son.”) his favorite movie is die hard (hoshi as a shawol), is canonically broke (hoshi’s constant money loss due to him spoiling everything), and tries to annoy suspects into confessing their crimes. 

men can have duality. they can be serious and also put orange soda in their cereal. hoshi, as a Super Gemini™ knows all about it. he’s playful but knows when to be serious and takes his line of work very seriously. sure, he has some growing up to do and can immerse himself in a different role (horanghae <3) very easily, but he plays to his strengths and that of others with his determination and persistence. 

capt. raymond holt

“wait a minute. this isn’t the championship cummerbund. this is some common cummerbund. and, you’re not cheddar. you’re just some common bitch!” 

“this bitch? please. watch.” (to the dog, ‘some common bitch’) “shake… shake! psshh. idiot.” 

this is probably the most obvious and predictable choice after jake=hoshi. a born leader, full of wisdom, and no-nonsense… well, some nonsense is okay. captain holt is ambitious and looks after his squad with both care for their goals and their personalities. even though he may seem a little unapproachable or stoic, he’s actually a really funny and goofy guy. he laughs when he eats marshmallows (“a marshed mallow? don’t mind if i do.”) he’s very adamant about his passions (like john phillip sousa being the skrillrex of his day) and his a very consistent guy (ref. rock painting no. 367). he is sassy to the max and will tell you things exactly as he finds them. and he does NOT mess around when it comes to his dog. 

cheol, most of all, is the ultimate dog dad -- just like holt. cheddar is to holt like kkuma is to cheol. he spoils his dog, and he is proud of it. he’s someone who caters to the learning style that each person needs: stricter but with jokes for jake (hoshi), encouraging for rosa (woozi), detailed with a binder and written formalities for amy (seungkwan), and with actions (ref. the croque monsieur) for charles (dk). he’s attentive, thoughful, and silly at heart. 

det. amy santiago

“gross, rosa! those are our dads! i mean, that’s not what i think. captain dad is just my boss. never mind, i’m teaching father the math. whatever, rosa!” 

super badass, but also a teacher’s pet, know it all, and scrapbooking expert. may come off as super uptight or a buzzkill, but genuinely cares about the other detectives on the squad. when you have hella big aspirations, it’s not that unreasonable to see why competitiveness, sharpness, and intellect are his best traits. under all of the work-oriented personality, there’s someone who is ambitious, thoughtful, clever, and protective of the people he loves. it’s hard to not be so uptight and to let loose (as opposed to some totally scheduled fun!), and don’t make fun of him if he sucks and is horrible at it. (title of his sex tape.) 

seungkwan was my top choice, mainly because of his competitiveness with hoshi (jake) as svt’s most famous frenemy pair. there’s a lot of responsibility and workload that seungkwan carries and continues to put on his shoulders, which his members love and appreciate (just how the squad appreciates and acknowledges amy’s dedication to being a detective). things can get wild and crazy sometimes, which is why seungkwan just needs to recharge sometimes. 

det. charles boyle

“i got this low tag performance polo with moisture wicking technology. kept me dry all morning. and a dry boy is a smart boy.” 

if you’re looking for a supportive best friend who will always cheer you on, this is him. he’s a major foodie, he loves jake (hoshi), and his arch nemesis is sergeant peanut butter, who is a horse. he’s possessive and jealous almost as much as he is a superb friend, which is obvious by the way he instantly is suspicious of every other best friend jake (hoshi) can make in his life. (“don’t make any new best friends! haha… maybe you shouldn’t go…”) he gets jealous of many, like old beat cop partner stevie schillens, brian (?) from camp, and even cannibal jail cellmate caleb. also definitely dresses up as people from halloween that no one but him can understand. he is just someone that is the embodiment of living life according to his passions. very caring, thoughtful, and funny. 

dk was a good choice for boyle for me since he is super clingy and also is a supportive friend. even if he knows it’s silly or mischievous, he will play along. dk is relatively less prone to disgusting and gross sexual innuendos than charles, but is still super excited to share his jokes and hobbies. has a lot of holiday cheer and his down to be friends even after being turned down. 

det. rosa diaz 

woozi 

“plans are plans. i’m a badass, not an anarchist.” 

mysterious, a little scary, but reasonable and thoughtful. rosa is a character that’s easy to stereotype, though also arguably one of the more complex characters in this show. hard working is an understatement, and even though he may not be the most outwardly affectionate at first glance, rosa is super thoughtful. work comes first, but through the many trials and tribulations that life throws, business remains separate from personal… except the friendships. rosa went through the academy with jake (hoshi), so they’re really close. as much as jake jokes around and everything, they still trust each other and work with each other really well. (“diaz has been chuckin’ d-holes into my mouth since the academy.”) on top of that, is a bicon (bi icon). 

woozi was my go-to choice on this one. his demeaner seems a little intimidating (especially because of all his muscles now too!), but he means good. he gives off mysterious vibes, but he’s just figuring it out. now he is truly no-nonsense, and he makes sure others know this. he’s still down for the different personas and everything, but he lives his life by a strict set of rules. his neighbors think he’s emily goldfinch (woozi)… his coworkers think his name is rosa diaz (wooahae)… wait. what? 

sgt. terry jeffords

“terry loves yogurt.” 

literally just a big softie that looks scary/big/muscular but is actually so babygirl. he’s so caring and loves the squad to death, always making sure that they have all the resources they need to survive. even when other captains come and go, terry is always there. terry loves yogurt, terry loves love, and terry loves foreign films.  kind of has a rivalry with boyle (dk) for strange reasons instigated by boyle himself, but is supportive nonetheless. (“hey, people like the way i look.” “sure they do, big guy.) he’s actually very well-educated (studied abroad in japan), is a great dad, and is always down to help others work out the right way.

this was such an obvious choice for me (with the only other option being cheol). mingyu is an inherently kindhearted person like terry, but also knows how to draw boundaries. he is someone who is worried about the safety of the people around him because he’s a family man, but also someone who loves to get down as vacation terry. also talks in the third person, but it’s okay since he’s hot. 

gina linetti 

myungho  

“aren’t you forgetting something?” [...] “no! pay your bill! damn, who raised you?” 

the human form of the 100 emoji. would be the perfect human president, based upon his skillset, dance ability, and bloodlust. he is the paris of people. has been jake (hoshi)’s childhood friend and went through high school with him. cares enough to steer jake (hoshi) on the right track (ref. brandon bliss) but to also enable him in their own goofy shenanigans (the DDC + the lacroix siblings). super smart and well-versed in the people around him because only gina would suggest savant (vernon), the hacker, to become their new IT guy. iconic entrepreneur. 

i know that hao is super humble, and gina says that being humble is her best trait. despite this, there is no one else who would love to not be involved with all this police nonsense (bc gina “does not listen to a lot of things you all [the detectives] say”) but also be relevant. she’s actually very street-smart, great at comebacks, and the ceo of her own company that she literally just made up. 

dr. kevin cozner 

wonwoo  

“that’s the oompiest oomph you’ll get.” 

prim, proper, and unhinged. he loves raymond (cheol) but most of all, allows love to prevail. works as a classics professor at a university, spends a sabbatical in france to enrich his teaching experience, and loves a good croque monsieur. would absolutely go off on jake (hoshi) if he gatekept a nicolas cage movie that's a period piece set in greece based on some dumb book. despite his no-nonsense attitude sometimes, he is still down to dress like a pervert to go to the library with jake (hoshi). also, super badass because he runs over seamus murphy with a car. 

i was kind of going for wonwoo’s quieter but more serious and studious vibes. i think super knowledgeable, especially about gaming and editing, while kevin is knowledgeable about classics like boetheus and the odyssey. both are super smart, sassy, and protective people. 

doug judy

“i sold a guy a fake pekinese. twas a cat.” 

he’s in and he’s out! he is there for the vibes and the elaborate schemes. he will outsmart everyone in the NYPD and get away with it. (many, many times.) one of jake (hoshi)’s best criminal friends but would still betray him every time. he would definitely lie and tell his family that he owns an architecture firm instead of being the pontiac bandit, and jake (hoshi) is his assistant mangy carl, whom he saved from a life of living on the streets selling his body. goofy and silly, but don’t underestimate him. you’ll always be one step behind him. 

i think jeonghan is definitely slick and goofy enough to be doug judy. above all else, jeonghan’s mind works harder than anyone else in mafia. just like how he immerses himself in different roles (and often makes them up) in don’t lie and bad clue, doug judy has transformed into many different roles in his life (cruise ship singer, architect, etc.) 

capt. jason stentley (CJ)

“okay muchachos, let’s roll up on these muchachos!” 

great start, and love the double use of muchachos, jun. became a captain due to his extreme luck. he is just always in the right place at the right time. showed up to his first day in grey sweatpants because he “totally biffed it” and spilled hot cocoa on himself. introduced himself as ‘captain stentley’ but didn’t like how formal that sounded. ‘captain jason’ wasn’t it either, so CJ was the move. numbers are so crazy, and overall so, very supportive. he just wants to help. 

i was just thinking of someone a little silly and laidback. will be strict if you ask him to, but he’s honestly more there for the vibes. he can be a little clumsy, but i was mainly just going for the slightly airheadedness vibes and the lovable nature. 

det. adrian pimento

joshua 

“whoo… haha… hey chuck! it’s pimento.” 

just a little bit insane. it’s a side effect of being undercover for 12 years for jimmy “the butcher” figgis, but i digress. he sometimes still calls himself paul sneed due to being extremely traumatized. overall just a funny and great character. used to be boyle (dk)’s roommate and just found himself in his son’s closet at some point in time… got mistaken as a closet monster… just normal human things. (but he was also screaming with dk and his son.) has a very riveting, intense, and sexy relationship with rosa (woozi). 

this one was a little more of a stretch, but only because pimento is actually insane. all the years of ptsd has made him into a very strange person. josh is a little strange, and maybe he could be pimento if pimento was watered down into a lacroix. (like, the flavor is barely there.) there’s a distinct slight insanity that josh has (ref. gose episode the8 and the 12 shadows) that is hard to replicate. 

fire marshal boone  

dino  

“your only move is passing the ball to jeffords and running across the field.” “i’d like to see you try!” 

so done with the entire police department. will always be down for a rivalry or argument but genuinely a softie. just generally suspicious of jake (hoshi) and charles (dk) due to their antics and strong adherence to the rivalry. demands an apology because this is the fire department’s jurisdiction! all of that comes crumbling down though, when jake (hoshi) reveals his sad past with sal’s pizza…. but he still competes with jake (hoshi) on arresting the criminal in the end. some things never change.

i was honestly looking for someone who would love nothing more than to call out hoshi and dk on their BS and tomfoolery without enabling it and thought of dino. boone is a pretty lovable character for someone who is supposed to be a villain of some sorts, and it fits in pretty well with dino. plus, he’s the head of the fire department, kind of like how dino had to choose being the maknae of svt versus being the leader of a younger group. (kind of.)

okay i was genuinely very torn about who should be vernon, because i genuinely had a lot of different options. 

corey park (savant) 

hacked into a police precinct’s computer system just because he could. (he only exposed everyone’s search history.)  “it was like taking candy from a baby.” he was turned in by his mom, but fortunately now has a job -- courtesy of gina (hao). very intelligent and laid back

i saw vernon here because he definitely has a mischievous side. while his pranks and jokes are on the mild side, he’s definitely still a troublemaker. he’s down to work for the greater good. 

cheddar the dog  

“this isn’t cheddar, this is just some common bitch.” a very special someone. definitely is seungcheol and wonwoo’s child. loves wedding cake and is very well-behaved. extremely intelligent and loves participating in halloween heists. does not like being jake (hoshi)’s dog bra :// 

this was based on alice’s thread and was so funny. if cheddar were a human, vernon would be cheddar. the sass and intellect can only be matched by Thee hansol vernon chwe. 

other fun character pairings that i thought of: 

kkuma as cheddar the dog: two words -- so spoiled. also would be cheol (captain holt)’s baby. i digress. 

jun & dino as young hitchcock and scully: just two people motivated by helping the city. kind-hearted and brave people, who may or may not have gotten addicted to wing sluts while checking in on a witness that their captain screwed over by not putting in the witness protection program. outstanding people who became a lot more interesting, to say the least…. 

josh as madeline wuntsch: strangely tense relations with holt (cheol) due to their rivalry, but overall an outstanding cop. ½ of svt’s evil twins so you know he’s down for some evilness. oh raymond, i notice you haven’t done your time as a beat cop…. (if josh is here, who’s guarding hades???) may be a cheuksin, a korean toilet ghost who--

jun as mlepclaynos (the clay is silent): opens the door, is questioned by detectives, takes the picture of the suspect. he’s from neokrakagovia and celebrates dogs losing their virginity. jun definitely would! less because he’s weird and more so because he’s so kind and willing to go with the flow that it just happens. later says he’s not mlepnos. did you sell him horse blood? would you like to buy horse blood? he plays the violin beautifully. “guitar.” (ref. some day morning)

So I had a prompt for b99, I was thinking with Jake and Amy and Amy notices that Jake’s all jumpy and smiley and she Knows. Maybe with a dialogue bit of like “come on, we have a common goal here!!” or “don’t even try to fight me right now.” sry if ur prompts are already closed. tyy

This prompt made me melt fr I adore them ;w; this is so fucking CUTE. It put me in a rly intense ler mood but that's ok we make sacrifices for peraltiago <3

Proof in Patterns

Amy likes to think that she’s always known Jake well. From the minute she set foot in the precinct, she had had him at least 60% figured out. Though Captain Holt likes to call Jake predictable as a method of chiding him, he isn’t far from the truth--he’s not hard to understand, if you take the time to learn him. 

It’s sort of an open secret that Jake likes to roughhouse. He’s over the moon any time Terry decides to toss him around like a sack of potatoes--unless it's out of rage, which then the entire precinct begins to make funeral arrangements. Whether Jake realizes it or not, and Amy’s almost certain that he does, his mischief more than often gets him hoisted, chased, or launched by his friends. 

Only a smaller group of people--two, to be exact--know about the secret nestled within that one. Herself and Gina, the latter of which is a given, since she’s known Jake since they were little. 

“Jake!” Rosa’s tone could slice glass. Amy looks up from her computer, and—ah. Seems Rosa’s glare could slice glass too. Which means whatever happened is undoubtedly Jake’s fault. 

“Rosa!” Jake parrots gleefully. Rosa forcefully spins his chair to face her.

“Where is it?” 

“Where is what?” He crosses his arms, smug. She narrows her eyes. 

“Give it back or I’ll make you,” Rosa hisses, grabbing a fistful of his hoodie. Amy catches the way Jake’s eyes light up before he tries to play it cool. Cute. 

“Gonna have to be more specific, Diaz. I don’t have your stuff.” Jake shrugs. 

Rosa grins.

“Oh god, why are you smiling?” He whispers, leaning away. 

“Last chance, Jake.” Rosa raises her eyebrow expectantly. He swallows nervously. 

“I don’t have—“

Rosa tickles his stomach with a vengeance. Every time he tries to grab her hands, she jumps somewhere else. Jake slides down in his chair, giggling faster than his lungs can keep up with. She pins him in that awkward slump with just her tickling hands and an evil smile. 

“Top drawer! Rosa!” He yelps, hysterical, and curls away from her. Still tickling with one hand, she opens the top drawer and pulls out a brand new chocolate bar. 

Rosa doesn’t even tell him off, she just pockets the chocolate bar and saunters over to her desk to enjoy it. Jake quietly puts his head down on his desk, hiding his face in his arms. His ears flush a deep red. 

Alright, apparently three people know. Interesting. 

“You doing alright over there?” Amy laughs softly. Jake mumbles something and gives a weak thumbs up. 

“Jake, Holt wants you.” Gina announces herself by tazing Jake’s sides—with her fingers, thankfully. Still, he yelps and swats at her hands. 

“Couldn’t resist. Not sorry.” Gina saunters away. Jake buries his face in his hands yet again. Amy pats his shoulder. 

“Peralta!” Holt’s voice carries easily through the bullpen. 

“Coming!” Jake’s voice cracks. Amy muffles her snickers into her hand. 

…

Evenings are companionably quiet in their household--Jake’s murmuring reactions to the TV are white noise to Amy now. The combined softness of their pajamas defines contentment. 

Jake’s head rests in her lap. Amy’s arm rests across his waist. She traces her fingers idly over his t-shirt as she reads, occasionally fiddling with the hem. Every time her fingers brush over bare skin, he shivers and scoots a bit closer. 

“Hey--” She pokes his chest to get his attention. He jumps and rolls over quickly. She slowly bookmarks her page and sets the book aside. 

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Jake chuckles.

“I think you know,” Amy whispers with a mock-graveness. His eyes widen comically. He starts scooting down the couch but she drags him back towards her. 

“Ames. Amy.” He tries to grab her hands but she swats them away.

“Don’t even try to fight me right now.” She swivels so she can sit on his waist. Even as she poses a threat to him, his hands comfortably find her hips. His smile is near-blinding. 

“I feel like you’ve been waiting for this all day,” Amy laughs. Jake lets out a hilarious groany-whine, something gutturally flustered, and she laughs harder. 

“You know I love you, right?”

“Debatable,” He grumbles. She pinches his side and he yelps.

“Okay! Y-Yes, I do.” 

“And you know I think this is cute, right?” Amy drawls. Jake turns a pretty pink and refuses to meet her eye. He normally basks in flattery--his ego is usually a problem, even when endearing--but something about this context makes him shy. It’s adorable to watch.

“Would you just do it already?” Jake’s voice pitches high with embarrassment. Something devious in Amy wants to make him ask properly, but she saves it for another night. 

“You should be nicer to me, Jake--” she leans down and kisses his neck-- “considering we share a common goal.”

His face is so hot that she can feel his blush. She squishes his cheeks to cope with how cute he is. 

“You are so mean to me,” he mumbles through her hands. 

“No, babe, I’m about to be mean to you.” Amy grabs a delicate handful of his sides and he goes boneless on the couch. As her fingers crawl higher, he curls more, squirming fervently. When she gets to his ribs, he nearly throws them both off the couch. 

One of Jake’s most endearing qualities is how much he wiggles. 

“Stay still!” Amy laughs and shifts to pin him better.

“I can’t help it!” Jake squeaks. She spiders her fingers at random over his torso, dodging his every attempt to protect himself. It’s not hard—Jake’s a man of patterns and Amy loves to analyze. 

He slams his head back into the couch and clamps his arms uselessly to his sides. She tickles rapidly, incessantly at his stomach until he just has to reach for her hands. Once he does, she smirks and shoves her hands under his arms. He makes it so easy. 

“Shit, fuck, Amy!” His voice jumps when she vibrates her fingers under his arms. He tries to clamp his arms down harder but it doesn’t help matters much. 

“You keep saying my name like it’s going to stop me. You know your safe word.” Amy presses her thumbs in again. “Can I have my hands back?”

Jake narrows his eyes at her. 

“No.”

“Are you sure?” She wiggles her fingers. He lets go with a cackle. She gives him a chance to breathe. He looks up at her with a dopey grin. 

“Amy, Amy, Ames, hold on—“ He works himself into a giggle fit so fierce he snorts— “we can talk about this.”

“I’m not even touching you!” She snickers. 

“Title of your sex tape—“

Amy vibrates her fingers into Jake’s stomach and he lets out a very satisfying scream-laugh. She chases it, tickling along his waist and back up his sides. He manages to buck his upper half off the couch and kicks his legs like his life depends on it. All this does is ruck up his shirt. 

“I still think we can talk about this.” He holds his hands up between them with a giddy smile. 

God, she loves him so much. 

She shoves her hands into the pockets of his Die Hard sweatpants and tickles his hips ruthlessly. Having slipped off the couch proves to quickly be his downfall—there’s nothing he can do but laugh himself into silence. 

“Ah, okay, okahahay! Gruber!” Jake wheezes, grabbing for Amy’s hands. She immediately helps him up and kisses his forehead. He pulls her back down for a proper kiss. 

“Still think Nakatomi should be the safe word.” He huffs, little chuckles floating free. 

“Yeah? When you manage to say Nakatomi through laughing, we’ll talk.” Amy tweaks his nose. He reaches up to do the same to her, she tickles under his arms briefly, and his laughter once again lights the quiet corners of their apartment.

Okay, I've been neglecting this side of things for a long while, apologies. Hope everyone has been keeping okay and enjoying all the wonderful fic and edits etc we've been getting from the community over this long hiatus. Can't believe I'm actually getting nervous about the series starting, but I'm just very terrified of things getting too busy and overwhelming for me in the various fan spaces I'm in. I've only known this fandom in a hiatus so during the actual show will be interesting! Going to throw some of my 'theories' in here but they're based heavily on the promos, trailer, and interviews we've seen so if you're avoiding any of that before the show, I'll pop them under a spoiler tag! ...if I can remember how.

Okay, everyone else gone? Good. Right.

So Lucy is going to be a temporary TO until Celina graduates (poor Celina has been a rookie for what seems like actual years but I guess they're saying it's only been under a year sure okay) and Nolan will take over. Seth, Lucy's rookie, will be eager but very awkward and not fast on his feet. I adore him already but please don't fuck this up for Lucy, Seth. I reckon she'll have to give in and go to Tim for advice on how to be a tougher TO, which he'll happily give her after some flirt-teasing. And Tim, likewise, will have trouble with Miles because he's not technically a boot, he's not going to be afraid of Tim the same way real rookies are. Newly therapised and maybe as part of the small doses, he'll go to Lucy for advice on changing up his TO style a little more. Then we get a wonderful balance of them both using each other's styles. Miles has likely left Texas with his family or just his sister to protect them from a situation or a person. Potentially a DV situation, not that I want to throw that around so casually, but whatever the reason I have a feeling Miles is putting on a big front of being cool and flirty (he will absolutely try to charm everyone, especially Lucy, and Tim will be pissed af) but once things get out, he'll show more vulnerability and humility. Tim will, again newly therapised, be able to connect with Miles and help him one way or another. Or, at the very least, be able to understand why he left Texas and why staying here is important. Onto Lucy and Tim. So I have so many different theories for them. I hope we don't miss too much of them getting back to a more comfortable space with each other, and we at least get to see some of the small doses, but I am glad there's going to be a little timeskip (a couple of weeks apparently?) so we can at least have them talking and comfortable. Tim is going to be so fucking proud of Lucy being asked to be a temporary TO and he will 100% be in her corner, if he's not the one who suggested her to Grey/the captain when they realised they were short a TO. There will be flirting. So much flirting. I mean this isn't a prediction we've seen the trailer and teasers. In terms of the bet, they'll get super into it and very competitive. At some point, whether it's during the roundup or something else, they'll start maybe getting too competitive and either someone nearly gets hurt or nearly fucks up, or someone (Lucy or Tim) gets their feelings hurt. They'll pull back a little, maybe after a talk or a fight, and go a little calmer. I can 100% seeing Tim ending up throwing their bet to 'let' Lucy win, because he knows she needs some wins and he just wants to see her happy. Think of Jake fumbling to let Amy win in B99. I can see Lucy also either trying to give Tim the win or refusing for him to 'let' her win, so she tries to throw the bet too. Their rookies will be so confused and it will be wonderful. Also that scene of their shops pulling up next to each other and the rookies running out? I am 99% convinced that's during the roundup and they both race to a call and get there at the same time, so they make Seth and Miles race for the arrest and winning point. Seth's been potentially fucking up so he's desperate to prove himself, maybe something goes wrong and Tim and Lucy call a tie or truce on their bet. But can you imagine if either one of them wins and they say they don't want their winnings, they want a drink/dinner/date/adult conversation? As for messy Chenford, as in hooking up before they're officially back together, I think there's a good chance of it. I'm happy with whatever route they take tbh, so long as they're back together by the end of S7. Messy, slowburn, small doses, secret dating - whatever, just be happy. For *that* clip, it'll be during the Gala. Tim will get mildly injured during a scuffle and Lucy will offer to patch him up. They'll go up to what is either one of their hotel rooms or a shared hotel room for the Mid-Wilshire crew to get ready in.

Now, by this point they have either hooked up before a few times or they're back together, because Lucy is wearing *the* necklace and Tim would probably not be so bold to look at her like that (while looking like that!) if they weren't already in that place. He's going to let her take the lead so he's not going to try and seduce her without her being comfortable with it. And again, the necklace. She's not putting that back on without it meaning she's ready for the next step with him. I reckon the new necklace we've been seeing will be another gift from Tim, maybe a small dose, maybe just a 'fresh start' kind of thing. Could be something she gets for herself. I don't mind either way. So, for me I reckon a) she'll cave and kiss him and they maybe get caught or they end up in bed together b) they're already back together/being messy and the 'we shouldn't' is because people are waiting for them and they could get caught c) she doesn't kiss him in this scene but they cave like seconds or minutes later while she patches him up. They're going to try to misdirect us and do some fakeouts, it's what TV does, but I have faith that they will be together probably by the midpoint of the season, so I'm trying to stay in my positive era and not doom-spiral. Which is pretty difficult while being in a fandom but I'm staying in this era if it kills me because doom spiralling will probably actually kill me. As for the rest? So, Oscar and Jason will likely be the big plot points for 7a, while the serial killer will slowly make themselves known through 7a until becoming the big plot point in 7b. Speaking of the serial killer for the love of god would you let Lucy and everyone else have some sort of reaction to what happened to her? It doesn't need to be a massive storyline, just her her acknowledge what happened to her. Maybe the rookies notice everyone is super on edge or something. Just let them acknowledge DOD again and how traumatic it was for her and for the people who love her. Of course, my constant beg, let Lucy have better friendships. Not just with Tim. Let her be appreciated and loved and not be constantly undermined or spoken down to. I don't need it to be a massive storyline because I know we won't get that, but let people acknowledge how amazing she is. And someone, for the love of god, point out how she jumped from one speeding truck to another to save another officer. Someone other than Tim be in awe of her, right now. My thoughts on the Bailey/Oscar/Jason storyline? I honestly don't care. I think that Oscar will end up helping our lot in taking down Jason, purely because Jason is not letting him run off into the luxurious sunset like we know Oscar always wants to do. Oscar loves chaos but he likes lighting the match and running the other way. He would not want to hang around for whatever Jason has planned so I can see him swapping sides in a heartbeat if it means him getting off lighter.

Monica? God please no. She will probably be back if the set stuff is for the show and not another, but she better be in the process of being arrested or tried or something, because there is no way that woman (who is wanted by everyone, government and criminals alike) is going to be able to run all the way from fucking Argentina back to LA and not get caught. I will honestly be so fucking pissed if she is somehow back without being imprisoned immediately. Just let her storyline end please god. And do not bring back Blair istg. Aaron, my love. My precious angel. We know he's alive in the universe so I guess either he transfers to another station or he's taking off to pursue another dream or job or something and process all the shit he went through on this show. I really really hope he'll be back for at least the Chenford engagement and/or wedding, but I can't hold my breath on that. I'm so mad he was probably let go of for 'creative reasons' and I know this is how the entertainment business is, but it's ridiculous. Tru and Aaron were blessings on this show. I'm angry. Oh, Nyla! So...god I hope they're not going to kill James. Honestly I don't think they will? Maybe that's wishful thinking more than anything else. I hope it's just something temporary that's painful for her to go through and nothing more permanent. Just let them be okay please. New detective guy? Based on the description he might be making things difficult for Wes in professional and personal ways. I don't believe for a single second that Angela would cheat so it's just going to be Wesley being insecure if they go that jealousy route. Honestly I hope they just have Wes being all insecure and annoyed but then he has to work with the new guy on something and they become best buddies and Angela's just like 'wtf?' because yes.

Umm, what else what else. Lucy promotion? I'm not holding my breath but it'll be ridiculous if being a temporary TO doesn't at least give her a boost towards being a P3 and getting her stripes. I know realistically a lot of the characters waited years to get anywhere promotion wise, but Nolan outranking her just makes me bristle. And I love Celina but Lucy should not be the same rank as her for too long. Lucy is constantly fighting to prove herself to everyone, making all these incredible busts while UC and doing some amazing feats and filling in for every other job at the station when they need her to, but she's not getting the recognition and I'm still annoyed about that. Do better, show. I don't think she'll be a TO permanently, but I don't mind it as a stepping stone for her. I really don't see the show letting her be a detective, much as I want her to have her dream. I have feelings about her being UC long-term and I'd rather it not be a thing for her, if only because it'd impact her screen time. Let her do short term UC and let her figure out if UC is for her before she's back with Tim. It is an important point in their relationship, but I don't want her making the decision just for him. I just want her to realise she doesn't have to keep working towards it because she's put so much time in. It is okay for her to change her path. And honestly I could see her being an amazing Captain or Watch Commander. Let her be in charge. Let her be in the position to make changes and team lead. She's amazing with people. Or let her be a sergeant liaison for the FBI it's a real position I've googled it. I just loved her FBI scenes, okay? And if they're going to maybe have the Fed characters on the show more often since their show was cancelled, it'd be perfect. She can still patrol and still be in charge, and then she'll be out of Tim's chain of command. Hmm...what else. Oh, look, I'm pretty sure Tim's mum is dead or they're estranged. I'm sorry, Eric, but come on. She's never mentioned ever! Though hopefully we'll still get a nice family meal with Chenford and Genny and, of course, our beloved Kojo. I really don't want them to bring Ray back honestly but we'll see. I can't think that far ahead atm anyway. And Lucy definitely looks like she's going through it injury-wise from the bts stuff so please let us have Tim looking after her or being worried for her. Give us the comfort after all that hurt. Make it pay-off.I haven't seen enough either way to judge the season finale cliffhanger. There will be one but I'm not sure if it'll be about Tim getting hurt/kidnapped. It'd be nice to see some feral!Lucy but I also want to see some feral!Tim, before and after they're back together. Idk why he's wearing the suit, maybe just a court appearance. I'm trying to think of other theories I've come up with or agreed with. I guess I'll make a new post if I remember any of them. theory time with 🌈: Violets Are Blue edition!

Ok so my current theory is that there isn’t actually a cop on schlatt’s side and that wil told q that to make him distrust his coworkers so that he’d be isolated and cut off from their insight and it would cause tensions which would stress q out further, all of this making him easier to manipulate.

Even if there is actually a dirty cop in the precinct, telling q is a risk where not telling him would allow the “spy” to operate unsuspected and telling q would cause him to keep info from the others including the spy, so either way i believe wil telling q about it that was further manipulation.

Now if there is a spy, purpled seems like the most obvious to us right now (but im growing more familiar with comma stories so i wont lay down any specific prediction yet) not just bc he asked q about wil and quackity himself started suspecting him. In earlier chapters it mentioned that he’s worked mob cases before and is known for them, so there’s not too much question of how he ended up within the vicinity of one of schlatt’s operations. AND in canon, purpled is the one among the las nevadas crew that plots to betray and take down quackity. Again im not making any accusations yet, but so far, the evidence is pointing to purpled more than any of the others.

In purpled’s defense however, q suddenly being super successful in the schlatt case around the same time he started talking to wil is something most people could notice if they were paying attention, which purpled probably was since q had asked him for some help with the case before.

Perhaps bc he’s familiar with these types of cases, he understands the danger q is in by being successful and/or by working with wil, maybe he understands that working with wil puts WIL in danger which would jeopardize the case if wil is really helping q.

Furthermore, if there is a cop helping schlatt, wil is putting himself in a lot of danger with schlatt by “helping” quackity, even if it is just a distraction from a much bigger operation.

This brings me to wil, God, wil, if he’s trying to keep q distracted, then the reason he gave q the tip about the drug bust is to gain q’s trust by giving him something real and to satisfy him for a while, like giving a dog a bone to chew on.

But considering schlatt’s distaste for wil’s “games” i doubt he’ll be happy if he finds out that it happened bc of wil.

Also the office shenanigans are both super fun to read as they are and are an interesting juxtaposition with the high stakes and tension surrounding quackity’s and wil’s storylines (i’d say its like something watching brooklyn nine-nine side-by-side with breaking bad but ive never seen b99 and i never finished breaking bad)

hm. i don’t know about disturbing. i absolutely think it’s going to be sad, because i while i don’t think she seems like a bad person, i think she has such a flawed understanding of buck (and honestly i think he does, too) that it’s going to harm him in the end. (maybe not terribly, i predict he’ll end it soon enough - which will be a metaphor for him letting go of death as a whole).

i just think buck has been restrained to the concept of death for his entire life, and being with someone who constantly faces it and is inherently interested and fascinated by it in this way is going to be really bad for his mental health, even if we were to remove the eddie of it all. (i imagine having a death doula as a partner would be rough for any healthcare worker or first responder - you need a break when you go home you know? and add to that buck’s individual history.)

it's also quite obvious that she seems fascinated by buck's near death experience more so than him as a person (which, again - doesn't necessarily make her a bad person) but i think he's so desperate to be loved, to be seen in the way that he thinks it's 'supposed to work' that even with his fangirl crack, i don't think he realizes that just yet.

all in all, this is a character who has been passively suicidal for just about as long as we have known him, so pairing him up with a death doula, hung up on his near death experience i think might lead to him to a place where he truly, genuinely, chooses to live. i think breaking up with her will be him saying ‘no. i don’t want to be acquainted with death, actually.’ which will be a huge step in his healing journey.

so, in a way - disturbing, you’re right. but also sad - however i think it’s going to lead us to a very good place.

I while ago I made a few posts about how Leo is able to predict his families actions to a near perfect degree (in contrast to the running gag where whenever one of his family members try to predict Leo’s actions they’re almost always wrong to a near humorous degree).

And a few people brought up a scene from B99 where Jake says he knows everything about everyone in relation to how Leo is able to predict his families actions which led me to making this

As someone who just binged Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I agree. To the fact that Eugene would win the first one. The only real competition at first is Lance (and maybe Varian.) But… realistically, alliances would absolutely be made at first and not only is Eugene an expert at planning so he’d absolutely enlist everyone’s help and would win for the same reasons Jack won. EUGENE IS ABSOLUTELY THE JAKE EQUIVALENT.

But that’s when you only have one night to prepare… give them a year and suddenly Varian is absolutely the front runner. At fourteen he single-handedly outwitted most of the Corona army. He can absolutely out strategize Eugene. His biggest weaknesses however are his love for Cass (who would gladly either use it against him or use it to take the credit for Varian’s plan). That is, if Eugene hadn’t paired up with him first for the “Team Awesome” aspect.

Though I wouldn’t completely count out Cass and Rapunzel who both have formal military training. Eugene’s biggest strength is unpredictably, but Rapunzel absolutely is smart enough and knows him enough to predict his moves and with Cass by her side (or probably even without) she could very likely take it. I will gladly point out how Rapunzel basically Predator-Ed her friends in Rapunzel Day 1. She also nearly caused the death of Eugene and Lance. And this was PRE-MOVIE Rapunzel. And you know Rapunzel is definitely probably the most competitive and the most likely to hold grudges. Eugene MAY be able to watch out for her… but that’s only if he knows she’s coming.

Personally, while I am voting for Eugene, I will give my opinion that I think EACH member of the group could end up winning one of the Halloween Heists, if like in B99 they do it every year. But Eugene is DEFINITELY the one to beat.
